Well, this fight had been inevitable.
Seifer stood in the main street of Deling City, just outside of the arch where, only a few years ago, there had been an epic battle between Squall and his hand of friends, against Seifer, and one of the sorceresses, during an inauguration parade. The place held a lot of memories for both of the opposing parties...it was the first time that they had really become enemies on something more than just a playground, rivalry level. This was where a true hate had been made public, where the fight had become a more black-vs-white one, and where everyone involved had been forced to grow up - perhaps a bit too quickly. They had only been 17 and 18 years old at the time....everyone involved had been so young. And yet, they had done so much...
Seifer scoffed over his shoulder at the arch structure. What was he thinking? He had grown up too fast? Please. That just sounded ridiculous - he may have regretted what had happened before, but he kept telling himself that the regret only spawned from the fact that, whether he wanted to admit to it or not, he had lost. Anyone regrets losing. But as far as regretting his actual choices and actions? He refused to let his mind do that. That was what he had wanted - he had been following his dream. And now, he was doing it again...and this time, he did not want to regret anything, and thus - he was NOT going to lose.
Already the young blonde had turned his entire home world over to the Darkness, and he had defended it against the strongest enemy he had ever been up against - and now, someone was here to challenge his rule once more. In Seifer's mind, Archipelago had become HIS world - he was the king. He had control. And he did not like having that rule contested.
And the one that had come to try to take this world away from him? None other than his old rival, his arch-enemy...Squall Leonhart.
Everyone liked Squall. He had a lot of friends, and all of Archipelago had gained respect for him for 'saving' them or some other nonsense. He also had Rinoa - Seifer's ex-lover, and since the last war, Squall had gone on to other worlds to make even more companions and pull even more people to his side...and worst of all, he never acted like any of that existed around him. Squall showed little emotion, his face always set and straight, and he spoke very few words. It irritated Seifer to no end that Squall had so much attention, so much respect, and so much POWER, when he had been left with nothing. Didn't he deserve those things just as much as Squall? He was just as strong. Just as smart. And yet...
A scowl set on the gunblader's face even at the thought of that brunette he had grown up with. They had the same meagre beginning at the same orphanage, and their lives had run parallel to one another for so long, and yet they had turned out so differently. It just wasn't fair! Seifer drew Hyperion then, swinging the gunblade around a bit in anger before pointing it straight down the street at nothing in particular, revelling at the feeling that the weapon always gave him when he held it - an extension of himself. He could not see his enemy yet, but he knew that he was there....
"Come on Squall....let's see how things end this time."

This simply couldn't be postponed any longer then it already had been.
The fate of this world was now to be decided in one final battle. The winner would become a hero, claiming the freedom to this planet and all it's civilians, return the world back to it's natural state, back to the Light. Bring peace back to the world and allow it's residents to live their lives without the fear of the Darkness nor the Heartless or anything else, every again. So long as one specific man lived and breathed, nothing was going to stop him from continuing his fight against the Darkness. Against all evil that exists, physically, mentally, spiritually... It didn't matter. One specific man would hold his gunblade with pride and with strength and would do battle once again, over again to ensure all Darkness was entirely defeated.
That includes him...
It had been a few years since their last encounter. Then when Archipelago had fallen to the Darkness at the hands of the gray-coated man, the Lion returned. The Lion returned to liberate not just Balamb, but all of Archipelago from this menace. This monster who thought he was doing the right thing when in fact all he was doing was hurting his own pride and the thousands who lived upon this world. It angered the Lion to no end. Just when his home had been saved, someone had to come back and cause trouble. If it wasn't a Sorceress or a WEAPON, then it was this guy... the Lion's Rival. The gray-coated man. The Sorceress' Knight....
"Seifer!!" Squall's voice echoed from down the path which Seifer was aiming his gunblade, Hyperion. A darkened figures could be seen walking down the middle of the road. No buses were running and no cars were being driven around. Everyone was too scared of the Darkness that Seifer had brought here to venture a single step outside their doors. The city of Deling was deathly silent. Eerily so... Only the gusts of wind that seemed to howl past were the only sounds in this huge city. The Proud Lion continued to walk forwards, the huge arches reminding the SeeD of when he was tasked to assassinate Sorceress Edea personally if Irvine happened to miss with the sniper rifle. Irvine didn't miss, but the bullet was blocked by a powerful magic spell. Squall closed his eyes as he proceeded onwards, memories flashing within his mind of all the civilians enjoying the parade, the two Iguions attacking Rinoa... and Seifer... standing beside Edea with that arrogant smirk of his... leering down over him, like a hawk ready to sweep down and attack it's prey.
Squall's eyes snapped open and he stared down the road towards the aches, spotting Seifer standing there as if expecting the SeeD to show up. The Lion had no expression on his face as he soon walked to within range of his arch-rival. Squall knew Seifer hated him and for many a good reason. But how did the Lion feel towards him? Did Squall hate Seifer? Many of his companions would say that he did, although he'd never admit it. How did Seifer think Squall felt? That would always remain unknown to the Lion. He didn't know, truthfully. Seifer had committed so many crimes... but he was only trying to better himself, right? Get stronger. Make people proud. Gain respect. But that was the trouble... he only ever served himself. He never took orders, never followed instructions. Only did everything for himself. That's why no one liked him. That's why he has no friends. That's why he has no power, no fame, no glory... nothing. That's why Seifer shall always be the underdog, always picking fights, always getting into trouble... always falling into the Darkness.
"This needs to end Seifer. This world needs to return to the Light and you need to leave!" Squall said, a flash of light escaping from his hand as he summoned his own gunblade, Revolver to his side. Spinning the blade around his hand, he brought the weapon up and rested the blade upon his right shoulder, his eyes locked onto Seifer's as he now just stood silently and waited for his enemy to make a move, watching him with that same emotionless expression he always revealed to the gray-coated man. Squall knew Seifer hated him, and having him here to take away the Darkness from Archipelago, would hopefully cause the ex-Sorceress' Knight to snap and attack blindly and recklessly. But the SeeD didn't know what Seifer had been doing the last few years... he could have gained tremendous strength... the two of them were nearly always matched blow for blow when they fought... except for when Squall was little and he kept loosing.
That would change today.
The Light will return to Archipelago!!

Finally, he had shown his face.
Seifer stared down the street, his smug expression unblinking, as Squall came into view - the man he had known his entire life, had grown up with, and had even gone to school with. The blonde had actually no memories of a world without Squall, for the better or the worse - and he was booking on it being for the worse. As the other man approached, Seifer could distinctly see the scar across his face, the scar that was mirrored on his own face. The day they had given each other those injuries was one memory that had come back to Seifer the moment his memories had begun to return...he had been wondering about that scar anyway, and now the memories of that day were hard to imagine ever being able to have been forgotten.
It had been one battle between the two of many - and today would be another memorable one, that Seifer could be certain of.
"About time you got here," Seifer said dryly to his opponent, lowering Hyperion for a few moments during this exchange of words. This was a battle for the planet, after all - words were necessary, whether either of them liked it or not. "I figured you would show up eventually, but admittedly - you're a bit later than I had thought." He smirked, the mix between arrogance towards, and disdain towards the man before him shining obviously in his eyes. What he had said was true, though - Seifer was genuinely surprised that it had taken Squall this long to try to turn Archipelago back to the Light, especially when the blonde had taken it right through the fingers of Squall's 'lover' when he had first turned the world to the Darkness...
Rinoa...
No, those thoughts were far from the right ones to be having, not when so much was at stake. Sure, Seifer had defeated three people in his original battle, but Squall had not been there....and even though the gunblader hardly wanted to admit it, the brunette was quite powerful even as a single person. His presence tended to change the tide of battle...but that was something that Seifer could not allow to happen today. He was not going to let his past just repeat itself - he couldn't just keep losing to Squall forever. This time, things were going to be different. They were going to change. And Rinoa was not here to be involved - for the better.
Squall's own words stirred up a lot of anger within Seifer once more - there was that arrogance again (or at least that was how Seifer saw it) and that 'better-than-you' attitude. Honestly, who did Squall think that he was? Just because all of Archipelago worshipped him as their saviour...and here he was, riding back in on his white horse to save the day. Well - Seifer was a knight, not Squall. This had to end. "For once I agree - this DOES need to end. Here. Now," Seifer began, raising his voice a bit, and with doing so, also raising Hyperion into an attacking stance once more.
"But you know what you never consider, Squall? This is my planet, too! I was born here and grew up here just like you - so where do you get the right to think that whatever YOU do is what should be done? I have just as much a right to this planet as you do!" More emotion had sneaked into the blonde's monologue than he had originally intended to show to his opponent, but it was too late for that now - he had already yelled his words, and his eyes shown with anger and determination. It was time to fight.
And with that, Seifer let loose the first shots of the battle - a quick flurry he didn't expect would actually find their target, but he hoped would set Squall off balance a bit with their suddenness more than anything. As soon as the last bullet had left his gunblade, Seifer charged forward to close the short distance between himself and his fellow gunblader, momentarily actually using both hands to wield his weapon as he made a downward sweep to bring it with much force hopefully onto his opponent's skull, throwing a lot of his weight a bit recklessly into the downward thrust - but hoping that the force would be hard block even if Squall did get his own weapon in the way before the cold steel of Hyperion crashed into his body.

OOC: Omg... this is a dire post.... I'm sorry it's so bad T_T I'll edit it later on when I get back from visiting my friend in a couple days T_____T It was strange to see Seifer again after all this time. Strange, but the old memories were never forgotten. Never laid to rest. There had been several memories that had been forgotten and/or laid to rest in the past both on Archipelago and during his time on Radiant Garden and the other worlds of Kingdom Hearts. Time spent with Sora and during times fighting back to back with his friend, Cloud Strife, but never anything about Seifer. He was still the same old rival and enemy of the Proud Lion as he remembered all that time ago. A lot of stuff had happened to Squall lately ever since he left his home world, but what could be said about Seifer? What had he done ever since the fateful day when Ultimecia was felled? Squall was hailed as a hero by everyone except perhaps Seifer, Raijin and Fujin. The SeeD had a faint idea as to what the gray-coated man had been up too, which was probably something along the lines of running some sort of 'Disciplinary Committee' and terrorizing the folks of whatever world he come upon after Archipelago was lost to the Heartless.
The SeeD watched Seifer with a cold, expressionless stare as he smirked about him showing up to this battle late. Squall just closed his eyes for a moment as he brushed his free hand back through his messy brown hair. He gave no response though, for there was certainly a need to get this fight over as soon as possible, but Seifer had brought the Darkness to this world and that was unforgivable. Seifer had to be taught a lesson but one that was remain memorized so that he'd never attempt to do something like this again while the SeeD was around to stop him. Squall wondered for a moment as he watched Seifer in silence, just exactly why he thought something like this was the best move to do. Of course, the gray-coated man was evil to the core. You could see it in his eyes, hear it in his voice, watch it through his actions. A monster through and through. "There is no reason to some running to your beck and call Seifer... you've fallen so low, you've just become the same as any ordinary monster." Squall finally gave a reply to his rival, he himself remaining unflinching as he kept his ground, gunblade still resting upon his shoulder as he awaited an attack from his childhood rival.
Squall watched as he saw the anger within Seifer words, could see it in his eyes and across his face. The SeeD of Balamb knew that his presence alone was upsetting the blonde, making him furious, provoking him to attack. This was his plan. Squall wanted Seifer to become angry, to make foolish mistakes while attacking. It would make this battle so much easier. But what else infuriated him? The Balamb SeeD opened his eyes and shot a glare towards Seifer which shown the utmost determination. Squall took a single step forwards and lowered his gunblade down off his shoulder, holding the weapon with both hands as he prepared himself to do battle. Of all the enemies he had fought in the past, it was always Seifer who he actually enjoyed to fight the most. In many ways, they were perfectly matched blow for blow. It was going to be good to see just how much stronger he has become.
"This isn't your world anymore Seifer, not after what you've done. Imagine how Rinoa would feel after learning about what YOU have done to our home? Imagine what Quistis would feel or even Headmaster Cid? They all hold respect for you Seifer, even I, but this is too much. Siding with the Sorceress was a big mistake you made, but bringing the Darkness to this world?!" Squall paused and shook his head for a second, clearly he was starting to become enraged himself from this. The Balamb SeeD swung his gunblade before himself before returning the weapon back into a defensive stance. That's when it finally begun. The battle of Light and Dark. The battle of old rivals had started! Seifer unleashed a flurry of bullets from the barrel of his Hyperion. Squall's Revolver was raised up and he himself charged forwards, slashing the gunblade down once to block a single bullet, before swinging back upwards the deflect a second up into the sky. Squall then jumped into the air, launching himself over the flurry of ammunition before landing with a thud in a crouched position back upon the ground, his eyes glancing up in time to see Seifer leering over him, his Hyperion raised high and coming down in a heavy attack.
The Lion took hold of his Revolver with both hands and pushed the weapon upwards as hard as he could while standing at the same time, countering the double handed attack from Seifer with as much upward force as he could muster. But Seifer's blow had much more strength then he realized and Squall quickly felt one of his knees starting to buckle. Seems like Seifer had grown a lot stronger. Thinking fast, the SeeD quickly threw out his right leg in a forwards kick, aiming the flat of his boot directly for Seifer's stomach. Gathering his strength, Squall forced his Revolver upwards in a sharp parry, trying to create a small gap between their two gunblades as a distraction, before taking hold of his weapon with both hands and stepping forwards, aiming a hard slam from the pommel of his Revolver straight for the bridge of Seifer's nose. Jumping backwards a few feet, Squall raised his right leg and shook it slightly, feeling a slight sting coming from his knee. "Looks like you've improved... This might take longer then I expected..."

A monster - Squall had actually called him a monster. Seifer scowled at the other man's words, clearly angry at what he had said. Yes, he was on the side of the Darkness. Yes, the Darkness tended to hurt people when they got in its way. Yes, he was okay with that. But he was still a human. He was still making decisions for himself - something he had not done when he had been under the Sorceress' spell, actually. No, this time was different...this time Seifer was in control of his own actions, and was fully aware of what he was doing - and he had chosen this path himself. An 'ordinary monster' simply attacked without meaning, without a plan, and without any purpose other than being driven by some dark instinct to kill - and Seifer was much more than that. "That's where you're wrong, Squall," Seifer replied slowly, his tone much softer than before - and yet, much, much darker. "This time - I'm in control. This time...it's different."
The brunette continued to try to get under Seifer's skin with something of a guilt trip - it was a good thing that the blonde was, at least for the most part, immune to guilt any more. Of course, he still held it for losing last time and all that, but as for what these people thought of him? Headmaster Cid, and Quistis....he really did not care, and doubted he would ever see any of them again anyway. Even...Rinoa. He didn't care what she thought of him...right? Seifer blinked for a moment, wondering why that thought was not as convincing to him as his previous ones had been. His past with Rinoa was nothing more than that - it was his past. He had not harboured real feelings for her even then, after all, so why now? Besides, she had been part of the problem last time, when all of Seifer's plans had fallen in around him, and that was just unforgivable - not to mention that she had chosen Squall in the end, which was clearly a sign of bad taste.
"I don't care what any of them think, Squall!" Seifer replied then, anger still very apparent in his tone, and he saw no reason to try to hide it. He was angry at Squall, angry at this situation, and angry that he had even begun to hesitate in his feelings about Rinoa that he knew should have already been taken care of, "Least of all you! This IS my planet - I am in control of it! If you really cared, you would have been here when it first fell to the Darkness....Rinoa was, after all, and she lost, Squall. To ME - as it should be."
Oh yes. Two could play at this game of getting under one another's skin. After all, Squall and Seifer had always been so good at it.
"You weren't there to see her trapped against a wall...bleeding. Where were you when your precious world was falling? I was there - so I think that makes this MY world!" In truth, it was harder than Seifer expected it would be to imagine those same images of Rinoa that he was trying to implant in Squall's mind - he had used her as a human shield in that first battle for Archipelago without a second thought when he had begun to be overwhelmed, after all, but thinking back on it now...
Ugh! Why did Rinoa ALWAYS have to make things so much more complicated? Seifer wanted to say he hated her for it, but...
No. This was a battle. This was the battle, actually. There was no time to deal with those issues now. Besides, the fighting had begun! Squall managed to block Seifer's attack for the most part, though the blonde could feel the other gunblader's strength giving way a bit when faced against his own strength, and that gave him a surge of confidence - but he took the kick in the gut directly, which pushed him away from his opponent before he could push Squall into the ground like he really wanted to. Seifer stumbled back a few paces, one hand instinctively flying to his stomach where Squall's boot had left a sharp pain, but the pain in his stomach was forgotten rather quickly when the blunt end of the brunette's gunblade came into contact with his face.
Seifer saw the blood before he felt the pain that suddenly shot through his entire face, seeming to go straight for his brain or something. A direct hit to the bridge of the nose with something has hard as the gunblade's revolver handle was more than enough to break it - it was a dirty first move, though Seifer knew he had left Squall with little choice but to attack bluntly at close range. And besides...these sorts of battles had no rules. However, that didn't stop Seifer from being angry about it all the same, and as he tried to wipe some of the blood from his face, his eyes narrowed dangerously at the other man. "Idiot! Don't you think you've done enough to my face before?! You're gonna pay for that."
In all the fuss about his nose, Seifer had almost missed Squall's words, but he did manage to hear them - so the other man had admitted that he had gotten better? That was....almost a compliment, and it through Seifer mentally off-guard for a moment. That was...unexpected. But he didn't have time to do anything other than smirk in return for the words before diving forward once more, focusing on anything other than the pulsing pain that seemed to be coming from right between his eyes as he made a quick slice aimed to cut Squall from his right shoulder diagonally down to his left hip with Hyperion's razor-sharp tip...and then, to return Squall's previous favour, Seifer took advantage of the fact that he wielded his gunblade with only one hand and used his free hand to try to land as hard of a punch as he could squarely on Squall's jaw.

Squall stared at Seifer as he seemed to be slightly shocked by the fact he had been called a monster... and it wasn't the first time the Lion had called him that either. Back in Galbadia Garden, right before challenging Sorceress Edea, the party of Heroes had to fight Seifer 2 times before being able to reach their target. The gray-coated man lost both times, including several other battles that were fought between the two gunbladers. Sure, when inside Lunatic Pandora, Seifer managed to kill the almighty GF Odin but was swiftly taken care of by Gilgamesh. That was shortly after Squall had defeated Adel and saved Rinoa from being sacrificed. After that fight, the SeeD of Balamb was sure he'd get the old Seifer back. The old rival who wanted nothing more then to best him in a fight... no go about becoming 'Knights' and aiding the Galbadians... "You're not in control Seifer... the Darkness is controlling you and if you don't break free, you're going to be consumed and you'll loose your heart. Then you'll definitely become a monster. One of those small black Heartless ones with yellow eyes."
Squall spoke the truth. The Darkness consumed ones heart until you were either truly powerful enough to wield it, which Squall didn't think Seifer were or if you were that evil that perhaps the Darkness feared and even respected the wielder. Again, something Squall doubted Seifer was. As his rival began to talk about how he didn't care about what the SeeD's allies thought about him, Squall closed his eyes for a moment, his head lowering down towards the ground as he felt a wave of... perhaps sadness come over him. What had happened to Seifer? This really wasn't his old rival anymore but just some mere pawn of the Darkness. Least of all he should have shown some concern when Rinoa was mentioned, but instead... The sadness Squall felt was instantly replaced with rapidly rising anger... rage... hate. His eyes snapped open and the SeeD stared straight at Seifer, his blue eyes locking onto Seifer's.
"Rinoa told me everything that happened here. You weren't there to have to comfort her, to hold her in your arms and stare into her tearing eyes as she cried, being scared, being hated... Not being to protect her home, not being strong enough to defeat someone even as low as you..." Squall closed his eyes, his free hand coming up to massage his forehead slightly as he frowned, still being able to see Rinoa's upset face as she cried in his arms on that day. He loved her so much... Squall was Rinoa's knight and he'd do anything for her. Absolutely anything!! This was why he was here. To get revenge on the monster who made his beloved cry. Rinoa had been through so much ever since she received her sorceress powers... Perhaps she didn't fight her best against Seifer back on that day because maybe she was scared she'd loose control again? Perhaps she still cared for Seifer like all of Squall's other comrades did (Except Zell) and didn't want to hurt him? That was fine in Squall's books. Rinoa didn't want to hurt him... but after what the gray-coated man did... Squall was REALLY going to enjoy hurting Seifer. Hurting him a lot!!
What had happened next however had actually put a smile on Squall's lips. The sound of crushing bone, the sensation of feeling his Revolver's handle smashing into Seifer's face, the yelp of pain, the crimson-red of blood... Nothing had ever felt so much more satisfying then getting sweet, sweet revenge. Oh but this wasn't for Rinoa. The scar across Squall's nose from Seifer's Hyperion. It was revenge for that, even though the SeeD had given his rival a scar of his own, he'd never truly felt like justice had been served for that. Now it had and Squall loved it! "Don't worry Seifer. You've always been ugly. A broke nose won't change much..." Squall actually... boasted. His confidence was soaring and he even smirked slightly. Squall was actually looking forward to this fight as he gripped his Revolver tightly as he raised the blade back up to rest on his shoulder again. Now it was time to fight seriously. Seifer had to be stopped and only the Proud Lion was going to be able to achieve that.
The SeeD watched as Seifer managed to regain himself after realizing his nose was shattered and brought on a new attack. Know the type of guy Seifer was, Squall knew he's try and get his own back by trying to aim an attack towards his own nose. That would be something he'd have to watch out for from now own. Squall's eyes however noticed the sight of what was coming his way, not a fist or handle strike but just a normal gunblade attack. Quickly bringing his Revolver down, Squall mimicked his rival and swung his gunblade around in an upward diagonal arc to counter the Hyperion. Steel struck steel and as the ringing of their weapons slamming against each other rang through Squall's ears, he and Seifer seemed to be on the same wave length. Being within close proximity of one another again, Squall threw out his fist the same moment Seifer did, but instead of aiming for the gray-coated man's jaw, he attempted instead to keep playing dirty and aimed his punch straight for his already broken nose. The SeeD of Balamb didn't know whether he had stuck home or not, for a sharp pain quickly escaped from his jaw as Seifer's own punch had connected. Squall staggered back a few paces and brought up his free hand to hold his jaw. Eyes locked onto Seifer in mild bewilderment, the SeeD poked his tongue against his teeth to make sure they were all there still. Fortunately they were, but he'd still bitten his tongue from the punch which hurt a lot! "How's your nose holding out?" Squall asked with a somewhat sarcastic tone to his voice, his face expressionless once more.

[OOC :: I can say before I even begin this this post is gonna suck, and it's gonna be short, and I'm sorry for that - this week was just crazy with going back to classes and working every night....sorry that is getting reflected here, but I only have 15 minutes before I leave for class again]
"Shut UP Squall!" Seifer cut off Squall's words about him losing his heart and becoming a heartless. Of course he knew that was possible - he had seen those creatures all over the place himself, and knew that if he lost control completely that he would indeed end up as one of them. But that was not something that he wanted to be reminded of, and least of all something he wanted Squall to be lecturing him on. "I'm sick of you acting like you always know what's going on - like you always know what's best for everybody. Well, you don't. Everything is easy for you, Squall - everyone loves you. You've always had a lot friends, and the teachers always loved you, and people follow you without question. There is no WAY you can even begin to understand what it feels like to just...just watch that, day in and day out, and..."
Seifer trailed of, realizing that his voice was actually on the verge of cracking, and that he had gone past just whining or complaining or something typical of him...into something more serious, and more emotional. Into something he definitely did not want to share in front of Squall. He could not show that kind of vulnerability - it was just not in his character. "Whatever, just shut up," he finally muttered, his tone dark once more as he looked away from the brunette for a few seconds to clear his mind and calm down, and to focus himself back on the battle.
The gunblader did NOT appreciate, however, Squall's comment after his nose had broken. Seifer snarled at his opponent, absently trying to wipe away a bit more of the blood that was running down his face before it got on his jacket or something - that would just be the icing on the cake, now, wouldn't it? - before simply saying with as much of a smirk as he could manage in his current state, "Funny, that's not what Rinoa said." He had to get his edge back somehow, and besides - no one likes to be told they're ugly, even people that are not essentially very vain. And Seifer's confidence and arrogance were certainly not going to be able to just let that one lay without at least a bit of a defence.
Squall's next punch somehow managed to land exactly where the other gunblader had wanted it to - right on Seifer's already injured nose once again. The pain that shot through his face and spread seemingly to every inch of his body was worse than could even be imagined. Seifer was unable to keep a gasp from actually escaping his mouth as he stumbled back once more, both of his hands automatically going straight to his face to cover up his nose, his cyan eyes wide. This really was a dirty fight - not that he minded one, but two hits in the same place that close together was a bit low. At least his fist had managed to make contact with Squall's jaw - that was something. But this pain? It was awful.
"Oh, my nose is just GREAT!" Seifer snapped back a reply at Squall's arrogant comment, his words more a growl than an actual reply. "Remind me to THANK you later..."
Something about this physical fight was almost appealing, though. They had always had nothing but sophisticated fights with their complicated gunblades, and rarely were anything like punches thrown. However - this time, it felt like a real fight, not like something scripted and something that they had been practising for. Instead, this was a man-to-man situation, an old school way to settle disputes...and somehow, it actually felt appropriate. And Seifer wondered for a brief moment how it had taken this long for something like this to actually happen between the two of them.
And with that thought, Seifer bit his bottom lip to try to focus on something other than the pain in his nose, and raced back towards Squall to make up the ground he had lost with his stumble backwards, his shoulder down as he attempted to dive straight into his opponent in something similar to a tackle - only he just wanted to send Squall to the ground without actually going to the ground himself. He knew he had a bit of a size advantage, so he just hoped it would work. And already, he was raising Hyperion, hoping that if he was able to land Squall on the ground, he would be able to land a close-range shot somewhere in the other man's torso - he would not have much time to aim - that would hopefully do some damage.
No need to count out the gunblades entirely, after all. This was a dirty fight - and that meant everything goes.
