(OOC: I thought to make this interesting, the setting will be in Disney Town, the town outside of Disney Castle as accessed by the Chasers in Birth By Sleep. A lot more space outside than the small confines of most rooms the castle. Let's have fun with this!)
They had done it! They had finally defeated Ferser, the Heartless that had turned Disney Castle into utter darkness, and had restored the Light back to the Cornerstone! But, the battle was far from over yet, as they had to rejoin the other warriors that had joined them to make the final assault on the castle and drive the dark villains out of the castle once and for all. As a result, now making his hurried rush back out to the courtyard and the ramparts of the castle, the Keyblade Master was making his way back to where the King, Queen and the rest of the denizens of Light had been distracting the bad guys. Everything was a frenzy now of adrenline and relief as Sora lead the way back through the Audience Chamber and towards the door leading towards the Gardens, expecting a dark stranger to leap out of the shadows and challenge them, only to strike down weak mobs of Heartless as he charged through them instead. But as he made a detour past a veil of darkness blocking their path that could not be negated by the Light of his keyblade forcing him through another door, he looked up and realized his surroundings, and realized he was now in a new area he had never been in before on his first visit.
Had he wandered into the right place?
A town stretched out before him from the expanse of the castle walls, leading into a colorful place filled with ridiculous-looking mailboxes and buildings that looked very much like the cartoon world the castle itself was set in. At least, it used to look colorful, as the place was now covered in a dark veil as if it were night, except it was day as the light of the sun was blocked out by dark, grey clouds looming overhead. There was no-one around, and the immediate vincinity was barren of anyone else - besides Gilgamesh, his new friend and trusted partner who was only a few steps behind him - the place seemed to have lost it's cheer as if it were a ghost town. Only a eerie howling wind between the buildings greeted the brunette, and Sora could only look at the mirth that had been sucked from the village dry as his only answer. The reason behind the abandonment of the town motivated Sora to keep moving, and pushed towards the only available exit that hadn't been blocked by trash someone looked like they had fun with placing in re-decorating the place, the keyblader followed the trail of Heartless as the battle over the world overflowed and poured out into the final area of confrontation.
It was a much larger area than the plaza than the smaller plaza that Sora had proceeded through that he arrived and came to a stop to, traversing through a zig-zag of a path down from the tall buildings - not exactly high enough to be like the skyscrapers like in The World That Never Was, thank goodness not having the same vibe but being very close to it - crossing over a bridge until he came to in front of what looked like a racetrack the civilians had set up. The bridge had crossed over a small street that ran underneath and to other parts of town, but was a dead end because of more trashed mailboxes, broken street signs and smashed crates the villains looked like they had used as either a barricade or a trash-heap for their target practice. The area still had it's color like the last, but it was murky and drained from the darkness that seeped around the place like a fine mist, easy to see through but still shaded the area like a low-lying cloud of gray fog. The place would have looked a lot brighter and cheerier, maybe, if it had some bright sunlight to clear up the place and some of the broken objects taken out and restored. Some walls had been impacted into, the floors marked with blasts of fire and even magic in some places, even a crater or two in one place as if the streets had become a field of war.
Even the gates that had once looked like they served as vendor booths was trashed, and it was here Sora slowed in his footsteps, hesitantly, as if he could sense something. He wasn't the best person when it came to sensing others, or sniffing out darkness like his best friend Riku was, but... he had a feeling like it was here that there were several dark presences about, the same feeling he would get if he felt like someone was watching him from nearby. Still holding his Kingdom Key fresh out of combat, he looked behind him to where his new companion and estranged warrior friend should have been if he had been accompanying him. "Gilgamesh?" he queried, looking about the haze for any signs of life, but it appeared he was alone at least for now. Maybe he had somehow jumped out through a window into the courtyard, but he had a feeling from the deafening silence - his bearings told him the castle's Garden was not too far away - that the main battle in the courtyard was over but that the war for the world was far, far from it. Unsure what to do at this point, either wait to see if the dark presences in the area would show themselves now he was alone or go back to find the others if they were in trouble crossed his mind, and he silently wished in that moment that Donald and Goofy were accompanying him... or even Riku and Kairi.
He was on his own for now, and the King was counting on him... he had to get this world back. Not just for him, or for himself, but for everyone that had once lived in it in peace.
They were so close.

The Darkness had won! Kadaj had won again!! Was there no end to his power?! Perhaps there would be no need to gather allies for the future battle that awaits on the horizon. Confidence rocketing to new levels, the leather clad figure of the Remnant Leader stretched his arms into the air and pointed his fists up towards the dark, clouded sky. Insane laughter started to escape from his lips in a frightening, nearly uncontrolled manner as he lowered his head down from the sky and looked about the wreckage strewn about Disney Castle's courtyard. The odds were again him in greater ways then he had imagined. Four heroes of the Light and a strong member of Organization XIII had fallen in battle, including the likes of the King himself, Mickey Mouse. And it wasn't the first time that the Mouse King has been defeated by the silver-haired Remnant and Kadaj was darn sure that it was going to be the last time either!
"Nothing can stop me!! The Light shall be exterminated by my hand alone then all the power of Kingdom Hearts will belong to me!! I'll re-shape these worlds as I see fit!!!" He yelled, boasting confidently as if he'd beat the five warriors attempting to take back Disney Castle all on his own. However Loz and Valeruis had big impacts upon the way the battle unfolded too, but Kadaj clearly didn't care about that. However, after laughing for a few more moments, Kadaj suddenly noticed that nothing seemed to be changing. Apart from himself feeling stronger then ever, mostly due to his confidence, the world itself didn't seem to change. Shouldn't it grow darker? The cloud growing thicker or the thick stench of Darkness becoming even more putrid? That's what happened back on Gaia and Destiny Island when Kadaj's blade defeated the Light attacking those worlds.
Something wasn't right...
Turning around after peering over his shoulder, Kadaj's brightly glowing eyes looked over his surroundings as he pondered for a second on why the Darkness within the world was taking it's time upon growing stronger. It was at that instant when he sensed a familiar presence heading away from the castle itself. A strong, powerful Light aura escaping from the heart of a young boy... a young, brunette haired boy... a boy with a Keyblade. Yet there was no emotion spreading across Kadaj's face other then that of excitement as he very quickly realized just who exactly it was. It all started to make sense now. "Of course... the boy must have attacked the inside of the Castle while a large force assaulted the outside... I should have known..." Kadaj said out loud to himself with a smirk as he extended both his arms out before him, interlocking his fingers as he did so and pushing until his knuckles cracked subtly. There was another Dark presence lingering about the Castle, though it was hard to pinpoint. Also, it felt nothing like his brother Loz, so chances are it was Valeruis. Peering over his shoulder, the Remnant smirked to himself. "You had the Mouse King... now, Sora is mine!!"
With that, the silver-haired youth turned and sprinted off towards one of the castle walls, leaping up onto the top of a hedge row before launching himself through the air, up onto the top of the castle wall. Landing in a crouched position, Kadaj stood up straight before taking a single step forwards and then instantly vanishing into a cluster of black crow-like feathers. A second later and the Remnant Leader stepped out of another cluster of feathers, in the same area as the Keyblader, Sora. It wasn't difficult to miss the aura coming from his heart in a world as Dark as this one was. Walking forwards, Kadaj smirked darkly as he approached the Keybarer, looking him up and down, sizing him up as he did so before coming to a stand still a short distance away from the brunette-haired lad. Smirk still plastered across his face, Kadaj merely stared at him for a second longer. "So, you won inside the castle eh, Sora? Hmhmhm... Oh don't think I've forgotten you. We've never really introduced ourselves to one another properly yet, but I'm sure you've heard about me." The Remnant smirked and quickly threw his left arm out behind him, his leather gloved fingers wrapping themselves around the handle of his Souba as the whole scabbard itself started to blue a subtle blue colour.
"Give the Mouse King my regards when you meet him in the afterlife!!!" Kadaj shouted before starting to laugh manically again as he leaped forth to close the gap between himself and the Keybarer. Even before his feet touched the ground, Kadaj drew his Souba with tremendous speed, launching out a Draw Slash as he did so! The moment his feet landed upon the cold, hard ground, he bent his knees and jumped high up into the air as if he were a rocket taking off. Assuming that the Keybarer would have jumped the Draw Slash, Kadaj swung his Souba up vertically as he flew high into the air, planning to slice Sora in two should the boy have been unlucky enough to jump into the follow up attack. Looks like Kadaj was going all out right off the bat!

(So this assumes Valerius makes a normal entrance near the end. Feel free to defy that if you want.) Well, this battle was already taking a turn for the…..something.
Gilgamesh wandered about the town, eyes varying between scanning the streets and glancing at the surrounding buildings. He was way lost. This was his first visit to this particular world, so his sudden jaunt from the castle to this place hadn’t done wonders for his sense of direction. If not for the giant-ass castle in the distance he would probably be completely lost. What surprised him though was the general lack of enemy forces. At some point it had become clear after their victory that the darkness had routed the attackers on the outside, and that they would have to return the favor if they wanted to truly claim victory for the day. As such, he had expected the outer perimeter to be crawling with the faceless henchmen that had been depressingly absent from the castle proper. Had the small fries been wiped out in the initial battle? If so that meant only the tough guys were left, and that was just fine by him. The damage from his first bout had been minimal and he still had some energy to get out.
This place sure is colorful though…. Indeed, for such a simple looking community it was quite bright. It was like he had walked into Lego Land - whatever a Lego was supposed to be. Had this place been under darkness for very long? That kinda sucked. He’d have to come back and visit for sure once the current occupants were aggressively evicted. He doubted they could offer much in the way of a true adventure, but civilizations of all sizes found a way to entertain when the big stuff was over. It could very well be a miniature Treno, with competitions and naïve girls to rob and all that! It had certainly been a while since he’d had a run of good old fashioned larceny. That’ll be my reward. Y’know, after I trounce some dastardly villains and all that. And a great reward it would be.
Suitably motivated for the looming encounter, Gilgamesh decided taking the street back to the castle was for peasants. With a cry and a leap he was upon the rooftops. Compared to some other worlds the structures here were small; perfect for an improvised amateur hurdle run. With arms spread out to either side and body low, as if for a more aerodynamic journey, he took off at a sprint. Someone might say he looked rather ninja-esque if not for the airplane noises he made with his mouth the entire time. I just hope I find something before the kid does. It always sucks when someone snatches the glory. It was a legitimate worry at this juncture. He hadn’t been sure what to think of the boy when he first made his grand entrance, but in the fight that ensued he was confident that he had met a new rival. The kid was dedicated, and tough to boot. He had few doubts concerning his ability to defeat an enemy before Gilgamesh could get an attack in. It’d kinda suck if things went down that way.
Springing clear of the next row, the wanderer’s eyes fell to a scene below. Two figures stood in the square, both familiar to him. The first was the youth in question, seeming to have found action before him as predicted. The second was the silver-haired man he had declared to be his prey long ago. Landing on the adjacent rooftop, he spied the two from his elevated position. He wanted John Silver’s sword way bad, but he wasn’t sure how he felt about interfering with a one-on-one either. Maybe he could find an acceptable way to join in, like when he had floored that blonde kid on Lunatic Pandora. At least then he had managed to appear heroic rather than interfering. But when the super-platinum started flinging the first shots he decided to just let the whole thing go for now. There would always be more chances to go at it, and if he lost there was a possibility that he could get his now-available sword off his body. His decision was helped at least in part by a second presence. Not necessarily stronger, but willed with an evil that even Exdeath would be hard-pressed to duplicate. It felt very much like what the guy from inside had given off, in fact. Drawing his spear from wherever he kept the thing, he slung his polearm over one shoulder and extended a finger toward the approaching aura.
“Hope your tougher than that ninja, cuz I’m still half-asleep here!”

Victory was so very delicious - but Valerius was still quite hungry.
The Heartless had returned to his normal form, orange hair back in place and his clothes were back to their typical black colour as he surveyed the courtyard before him with a smirk. He absently twirled his katana around between his two hands, amber eyes flicking around at the destruction that the battle had caused. It had not been over very long yet, but the satisfaction of his victory was had already settled in Valerius' chest - he had been able to defeat the mouse king AND his queen, and had proved that he and Maurelle were the rightful beings to rule this castle. They were more powerful, and thus, this castle was theirs.
However, now that the battle was over, Valerius could already feel the annoying pangs of boredom beginning to return to him - that was the problem with battles. Eventually they ended. And thus far, Valerius had always been on the winning side...he still awaited the day when he would finally find that someone somewhere who could best him. Someday, that would happen, and oh how he longed for that day in a bitter-sweet way. His greatest goal in life - to find someone that was actually a good competitor. Someone that actually had power he could respect. Thus far, he had found nothing but disappointment.
But wait - could it be that this day would at least be slightly more interesting? The typical dark calm had not settled back on the world as it had been before the Light had decided to attack...something was still rather amiss. The heartless scratched his head in thought, wondering if perhaps someone had gotten away...or....Ferser. His fellow horseman had been conducting a battle inside the castle at the same time that this battle in the courtyard had taken place - was it possible that that idiot had actually LOST his part of the battle?! Valerius would not be surprised by that...he had always seen Ferser as rather incompetent, despite being a Horseman. If that were true, then the battle would need to be settled, once and for all this time.
And Valerius found no one better suited to the job than himself.
"That was a good diversion, but let's have some more fun now, shall we? Can't have more uninvited guests just running around my house, after all," Valerius said to himself as he summoned some of the lesser heartless that had disappeared from the courtyard when the battle erupted to tell him where the intruders were. It seemed that only two remained, and they were in that gaudy awful town that surrounded the castle that the heartless had long since 'evacuated' of its residents - and the more controlling of the silver-haired teenagers was there as well, already locked in a battle. Well, if someone else had to be there, at least it was him. Valerius would never see the addition of an ally in battle as 'helping' him, but rather as giving him an advantage, and that was something the boy certainly could do for him.
With a dry laugh, Valerius made his way out of the courtyard and towards the town, finding the intruders with ease thanks to the help of the lesser heartless, who once again scattered away from the battlefield, and especially from - was that ANOTHER keyblade? Valerius glared for a moment as he caught sight of the silver-haired boy and the spikey haired boy he was fighting, who wielded that weapon that always made Valerius feel sick on the inside when he saw it. Keyblades and keybladers...he hated few things more than that.
However, his attention was rather quickly diverted when he heard another voice come from above, and his glowing amber eyes quickly snapped up to see the second intruder peering at him from atop one of the buildings - a strange looking man whose identity was mostly concealed by his clothing. His heart did not seem to give off much of an aura one way or the other, but from his words, the heartless assumed this man was his enemy. If this man was to be his next opponent, then so be it - Valerius was more than willing to fight anyone who came his way.
...and perhaps it would be better to avoid having another struggle with a keyblade twice in one day. Maurelle would be displeased if she knew about that.
Valerius then grinned at the man he had now named as his opponent, white teeth flashing as he knew his katana, it's crimson blade gleaming despite the darkness in the area. "I don't think you'll be disappointed with me," he then replied to the man with a laugh - this man had an arrogant side, and it was about time to erase that, or at least make him prove that he had a right to speak in such a way.
Then, in a blur of quick movement, Valerius had changed forms once more into his white form - shockingly white hair, skin, and clothes, with only his bright heartless eyes remaining an eerie yellow and his sword looking all the redder in contrast, and he had scaled the side of the building until he was level with the other man, that grin still plastered across half of his face before it dissolved into the perpetual grin that was caused by the mask on the other side of his face.
"I wanna have some fun!" Valerius then yelled before springing forward with a flurry of katana moves that he attempted to aim at the man's head, and then across his thighs, and finally into his right bicep - if any of them landed, they could have crippling effects.

Insane laughter pierced the air of the dark haze smothering the colorful toon world, making Sora turn his head towards the sudden sound. Who the heck made that kind of a creepy laugh? Whoever it was, it definitely wasn't one of the keyblade master's friends, or anyone who had good in their heart. Not with maniacal, malicious laughter like that. Feeling the need to investigate, the blue-eyed boy turned on his heel and large black-and-yellow boots started pacing back the way he had came towards the castle.
Maybe he had made a wrong turn, maybe he was meant to find a way around the dead ends he had passed? Was there something he had missed? Was he... already too late, were his friends in danger? Did Gilgamesh get caught out by the darkness when he left him behind? All these thoughts and doubts of uncertainty raced through the young man's mind like the adrenaline now coursing through his veins, riding on the rush of them, all pulsing through the heart beating in his chest which was now leading him back to where he wanted to be.
If his friends had been lost to the darkness, would he be able to save them?
At that thought, a strange, sudden calm mellowed out through his nerves and softened in his features as he remembered something. Of course he could... their hearts were connected. Even if he was too late, even if the darkness had claimed them, all he had to do was remember them. No, not even that... as Castle Oblivion had taught him, even if he forgot them... all he had to do was follow his heart and reach out for them. Even in the deepest darkness, their lights would never go out. Like the many stars above them in the sky that all worlds shared, they would shine brightly in the darkness, and Sora would remain connected to them.
All he had to do was believe.
His train of thought was interrupted before he could leave the wide area just before the Rumble Racing area when a cluster of black feathers scattered before him, followed by a dark presence which materialized within them, forcing Sora to once again dig into his heals to come to a stop just before them. Out from within the whirlwind of ebony down came a familiar figure he had seen once or twice in his adventures since he had left Destiny Islands to save those that needed him the most; a young man with silver hair and carrying a long sword. Sound familiar? But it was not Sephiroth, as Cloud described to him long ago. No, this male's hair was much shorter than his look-alike and his sword had two shorter blades running parallel to one another from the katana's hilt, and even though he dressed in the same dark, leathery manner it was not the embodiment of Cloud's darkness he had battled what felt like eaons ago.
He felt the other young man was sizing him up as well in those few short seconds the keyblade master had done the very same, before he heard him speak in a provocative, antagonistic tone of voice. Looking up from underneath his furrowed eyebrows as he stared him down, the brunette listened to him, and smirked a little at what he said. Sure he had won the 'inside' of the castle if he meant the Cornerstone, but he wasn't about to confirm that straight away, so it was a moot point for now. So he hadn't forgotten him? That wasn't surprising, since he had seen him before once back on Cloud's home world once before, and of course most people had heard of him from his endeavors in saving the worlds from falling into darkness. Sure the brother of Sephiroth wasn't going to introduce himself, although Sora already had a hunch from when he had first seen him that's exactly who he was as well as the obvious from his appearance, and Sora didn't expect him to. But what had made him smirk was the notion from the silver-haired man that he was arrogantly sure he had heard of him in return.
After that comment, in a manner very typical of himself, he brought his free left hand up to his chin and held it there in a pondering pose as he looked down at the ground in thought, then a second later made a slight shrug with his shoulders. "Hmm... nope, can't say I have ever heard of you before." he shot back condescendingly with a cocky and smug tone of voice, the same defiant way of talking he had given to Sephiroth when he had talked to him the second time he had encountered him before they dueled. The silver-head was probably looking for recognition that he was just as infamous in terms as himself among the worlds, and Sora wasn't going to spare his feelings that he was with his implied insult. It was harsh, but it was the truth, and the spiky-haired teen felt that the other teenager standing some distance across from him needed to be taken down from his self-inflated ego a notch or two. Since obviously being Sephiroth's sibling, and from his attitude, he certainly wasn't one of the good guys.
Feeling a little amused and confident at his smart comeback - simplistic as it was, just like Sora himself - Sora relaxed his arms and watched as the swordsman thrust out his hand behind him to rest on the hilt of his sword still in it's scabbard. The relaxed muscles suddenly went tense again from the adrenaline still coursing through his veins, as suddenly a memory was triggered. In the young man's place, Sora could envision a man dressed in a black-hooded cloak, and around them the Castle Cathedral of Hollow Bastion back before it had been restored. The mysterious figure - whom Sora now recognized from his previous experience as having been Xemnas - charged a ball of energy in his hand and the next thing Sora knew he had thrust the energy out before him, aiming at Sora and creating a surge of lightning energy Sora had instinctively blocked with his keyblade. The memory triggered in the few breaths of a second and passing just as quickly, Sora already envisioned what was about to happen, and when it did it happened all too rapidly.
The adolescent blocking his path quickly shot out a remark that Sora should give his regards to the mouse king, prompting Sora's lips to form the words his heart was gasping "What did you do to the King!?", before the Remnant leapt forward towards him and unleashed a sudden wave of energy washing through the air to close the already increasingly small gap between them. Reacting on intuition just as he had done to the superior of the Organization, the keyblade master thrust his keyblade out before him and used his Block to protect himself, as the wave of energy smashed into him. The technique was successful in blocking some of the damage that was meant for him, saving him from being cleaved neatly in half and prematurely ending the fight and thus his life, but what he didn't expect was the piercing effect it had as it smacked through him and depleted some of his health. Pushing him backwards slightly from the force of the blast, and backpedaling on one foot as he braced down both in a defensive stance, Sora gritted his teeth in a growl as his azure eyes watched as his new opponent had jumped up above him to try and block off any escape path he might have made from the bisecting wave. The wash of energy coalescing through his form as his body stung in pain from the aftershock, Sora recoiled the momentum from the blast and reversed it back out through the extension of his weapon, unleashing the power back to his foe in the form of a powerful Counterguard as his keyblade clashed violently with the Souba and parried it along with a few instantaneous slashes of his own to bypass his guard.
This new enemy was had a fast and aggressive style of fighting, much like Riku and Roxas, but Sora knew who had prevailed in those battles. If he was patient, stayed on the defensive, and struck when the timing was right he could prevail in this struggle for the right to claim back what rightfully belonged to the royalty of this world. And the civilians... his friends. They all looked to him as their last hope, he was the key of it all, the one who connected everything.
"There are people counting on me... more than just the people of this world... they are my power!"
And it was true... so many people counted on him to restore this world, not only just his friends... but people counted on him to save them from the misery that had been bestowed upon them by the darkness. Out the corner of his eye, he could see Gilgamesh engaging an opponent, and was friendships like his that gave him the strength he needed. But this battle alone, and the battles beyond this one he had to win to save his friends... it was all up to him.
He could not lose. He would have to give it everything he had.

The cold chill of the darkened sky winds blew through the silver hair of the Remnant Leader during his ascent towards the cloud strewn skies overhead. The haunting whistling of the winds making their presence known throughout the world as there were hardly any other sounds to be heard due to the lack of populace and pretty much everything else of the living variety for that matter. However from up at this vantage point, the Remnant youth could see the red cloak of the swordsman doing batter with the familiar orange-haired figure of the Horseman, Valeruis. So he finally decided to show up eh? Not that Kadaj needed any help battling Sora. It would just make the challenge that much more fun to see if he could make the Keyblade Master fall before the Horseman felled Gilgamesh. Sora... THE Keyblade Master. This was probably going to be the toughest match of his life so far, bar his defeat to the hands of Cloud thanks to Sephiroth's big-hardheadedness. The One Winged Angel sapped so much strength out of the Remnant Leader during their metamorphosis that Kadaj had no energy left to fight Cloud personally once he changed back.
That wasn't going to happen here. JENOVA wasn't present and neither was his alter-ego. The legendary SOLDIER wasn't going to screw up his plans this time around. Kadaj was going to defeat the Keyblade Master just like he had done King Mickey, the Nobody Roxas, the armoured Keybarer Terra and even Sora's best friend Riku and prove once and for all that he was the strongest and that nothing was going to stop him from conquering Kingdom Hearts! Yet there was this strange aura coming from Sora... something about him that put him in his own league compared to the other Keyblade users out there. Something to do with his heart it seemed... though it was difficult to tell from reading his heart alone. There must be something else to it... probably some rubbish about always having faith in his friends. Pah! Friends?! Well technically Kadaj had friends. Loz and Yazoo, his two dearest brothers gave him the strength to keep fighting. Keep pushing forwards so that one day justice could be served to his wicked Mother and her precious 'Angel'. One day they would both die and Kadaj and his brothers would be free!!
The brunette boy's voice brought Kadaj back to reality and he sneered at the lad when he was quizzed about what was wrong with the King. Kadaj hadn't done much physically but it was the sheer amount of damage caused mentally that would sap every last bit of sanity out of the Mouse King. He was no longer a threat. No longer any aid to the Light. Kadaj just smirked and let out a dark, sinister chuckle. "He's simply, truly defeated. And now he dons a lovely scar upon his arm which will always remind him of the day he lost the fight for his Castle!" He chuckled. It was true. During the fight for the Castle Courtyard, Kadaj's Souba connected sweetly with King Mickey's forearm, delivering a deep cut and giving him rather fetching twin scars. ((Edit -- Read his posts in Mysterious Tower for confirmation =D)) Kadaj just continued to smirk as he tilted his head to one side slightly when the cold, bone chilling winds drifted by once more so his hair wouldn't blow into his eyes. The Remnant's dark presence was evident. Even those who couldn't sense the Light or Dark would be able to tell if he were nearby just from the thickening of the air that seemed to follow the silver-haired youth around. "I wouldn't be surprised if the Mouse King were laying face down in a ditch somewhere waiting for someone to come end his miserable existence. It's twice now he's lost worlds to my hand!!" Kadaj boasted, knowing he'd get smart mouthed back again but he didn't care.
The sweet sound of energy been launched in a razor sharp Draw Slash was music to the silver-haired youth's ears. Even more sweet when the impact sound followed shortly afterward. Rising up through his follow up attack, Kadaj peered down towards the ground to sadly see that Sora was still alive having somehow blocked the Draw Slash. Admirable. There were very few alive who could do that and live, but it would have been disappointed if the 'legendary' Keyblade Master fell at the first blow. It was during his decent back down to the ground that Kadaj noticed something different... almost as if Sora had managed to absorb the attack from blocking it and using that to pull off his own Draw Slash right back at him. What was this trickery?! Was it real? It was only when he landed back on the ground, his Souba smashing into the Keyblade, did he realize otherwise that he'd used a different technique, some sort of counter perhaps? Though the first initial clash of weapons was violent, Kadaj felt a couple impacts upon his left shoulder before catching sight of the Keyblade Master unleashing close to instantaneous strikes during the seconds after their weapons connected.
~He's faster then he looks...~ The silver-haired Leader thought to himself with a smirk as he brought his Souba back from Sora and swiftly swung it from side to side before himself. Sparks flew from the impact of steel upon steel as Kadaj used his own speed to match Sora's blocking the remaining strikes from the counter before jumping backwards a fair distance to open the gap between them both again. So Sora was going to play it like that, eh? Pausing for a second, Kadaj chuckled as he dusted off his left shoulder with his right hand, noticing the small wounds showing through his leather. Interesting how an overgrown Key could do such damage. Regardless, it was going to take more then this but the silver-haired Remnant wanted to have some fun. Shooting his left arm out before him, Kadaj aimed his Souba at Sora's chest before bringing the blade back down to his side. As his left arm fell, his right arm raised, his index finger curling towards himself a couple times, beckoning the Keyblade Master to come at him.
"Lets see what you got Sora!" He taunted, still with his dark smirk spread across his lips.

The enemy was before him. He seemed like an ordinary guy, albeit with an extraordinarily psychotic smirk. Like seriously, axe murderers would probably lop off their own heads if they stumbled on this guy in the dark. Still though, Gilgamesh wasn’t about to hold back just because his enemy had a plain-looking body type. He had never been much for sensing presences and all that, but he could practically feel his opponent’s will to do battle just by looking at him. Jeez, if this guy’s half as strong as he is confident I might actually have to pull out something big. Awesome! He was pretty sure the last time he had used a weapon that wasn’t his throwaway spear was against that blonde gender bender way back when, and even then it had been a bit of a waste. This new person could end up being his temporary replacement Bartz, but crazier!
“I don't think you'll be disappointed with me.” He had only needed to see what he was slinging to agree with that. It was basically a plain katana in shape, but that color scheme was definitely unique. Assuming its wielder didn’t just pick up an average sword and paint it like a moron it was certainly worthy of entering Gilgamesh’s growing collection! Not as big a catch as the pale guy’s double-sword-thing, but he’d put it up on the wall any day. A throaty laugh came in response to the statement. “Just try your best and keep up!” He thrusted his extended thumb to his chest, tilting his head back slightly as he continued. “After all, there’s no shame in losing to me! A great warrior such as myself has walked on a trail formed of the defeated, and to stand under one with such magnificence as myself is hardly a disgrace! So when I put you down there with the rest, try not to make a scene about it or....any......”
A transformation had come over the man. Not some change in personality, but a literal change in physical appearance. His once obnoxiously bright hair became a bleach-white, along with the rest of his body, and what looked like the world’s most sinister opera mask materialized over a portion of his face. Whatever was going on, he looked notably less ordinary than when he showed up. There was a blur of sudden movement from the figure of chalk, prompting the Ancient Man of Mystery to lower his spear in defense. He only just got into position when the man wound up right in his face. Holy crap! He brought the polearm up like a pullup bar to intercept the first crimson streak of movement, but was unable to prevent a laceration across his upper legs. He stumbled back at this, his eyes just catching sight of a third swing in the pandemonium.
Gilgamesh braced himself by sliding his left foot back. His thighs lit up with pain as he forced them to support his weight, but hopefully he wouldn’t have to endure it long. He just needed to get the Heartless away from him for a moment so he could prep. Trying it in the middle of battle, with this fast string of combos coming at him, was a dangerous endeavor. He wound back his left fist just as the sword cut into the opposing arm. It wasn’t a clean slice, but he could feel the various tissues parting before the blood-red blade. It was a necessary sacrifice. In creating a wound he created an opening. Hopefully it was one that would remain open if he was getting sliced up in the process. Trying to score a hit before the weapon could finish its swing, Gilgamesh threw his full force into a lefthand straight. The aim was for his assailant’s chest; he was too fast to try for a headshot just yet. This was no ordinary punch though, but one practiced by the darker half of the fair folk of his homeworld. A powerful strike at four times the force he should be able to exert. With a cry, he unleashed Goblin Punch.

Well, that had been a nice little monologue that his opponent had deemed it necessary to share, Valerius thought to himself with a bit of a smirk. The other man certainly had confidence, and the heartless did like that - after all, there was absolutely nothing to gain in fighting an easy opponent who did not even believe in themselves. Nothing was more of a bore than not even having a challenge, and Valerius had extremely high expectations. However, he could not help but be even more satisfied when the man trailed off after Valerius' transformation and then initial sudden attack - while the other man had chosen to try to make his first impression with words, Valerius had made his with his movement, and he felt that it had done the job quite well.
The heartless' grin only spread wider when he felt his katana make contact with the man's flesh, first across his legs, and then against his arm. Neither hit was going to be fatal or anything, but he was pretty certain that they did not exactly feel good and that they showed that he meant business. Plus, on top of all of that, it was just always an added bonus when Valerius was the first to shed blood, and he always loved that feeling of power that it gave him. This was going to be a good battle something was telling him, and he only got more excited with the thought. Meanwhile, the other two combatants on the ground were having quite an interesting battle as well, which only added to the energy that was filling the air - delicious. It was all simply intoxicating.
Suddenly, though, his opponent was able to get a hit in after sacrificing the hit to the arm, and Valerius heard the man's yell before he felt the force of the impact upon his chest - and what an impact it was! The heartless was blown backwards several metres through the air, landing dangerously close to the edge of one of the buildings they fought upon. The blow had knocked the wind out of him, and the way he had landed on the ground didn't feel good either considering it had been such a surprise hit, and he had landed rather awkwardly. Valerius gritted his teeth together to shake the pain and anger away before quickly pushing himself back to his feet. For a moment, he scowled at the other man before turning it back into a sneer.
"I'll give it to you - that was a good hit, old man, but I kind of liked it, so you're gonna have to try a bit harder," Valerius then said, not keeping the cockiness out of his voice even the slightest. He twirled his katana around between his two hands a bit thoughtfully, amber eyes trained carefully on his opponent and he considered his next move. The man had some sort of internal power that his outward shell did not betray, and their battle area was rather small, limited by the risk of falling over the edge - even though the drop was not that severe, being thrown over it and landing even slightly wrong could be devastating.
However, Valerius did not like planning things out too much - spontaneity was just so much more fun.
With that thought, the katana twirling between Valerius' hands suddenly took a different form, transforming into two weapons that almost had a pick-axe appearance, one in each hand, connected by a long chain...everything still blood red. "Let's keep playing!" he then cried out before letting one end of the weapon fly, hoping to get a quick, cheap shot in before it returned to his hand and he raced towards the man again, keeping his body at an almost 90 degree angle, his back parallel to the ground as he stayed low.
When Valerius reached the man, he ducked around behind him before springing back up to his full height, attempting to throw the chain over the man's head, and hopefully catch him around the neck. It may not do much damage initially aside from being painful but it could give the heartless a serious upper hand both by shocking the man - and by gaining a lot of control of him. After all, with a chain around one's neck, one was definitely at the mercy of the person wielding the weapon, and that was the position Valerius wanted to put himself into.

The cold, empty expanses of a now darkened, once-colorful town was not the ideal setting Sora had for a final confrontation with the dark forces which had taken over the castle. The dark haze and the chill of the wind blowing through the town almost made him shudder, if not for the fact he was now locked in battle with a unknown contender who was related to Sephiroth, and he had caught the sight of Gilgamesh in a similar heated duel with another colorful villain he had never seen before. Maybe it was the last of those Horsemen? Either way, he knew Gilgamesh could handle himself well against these powerful Heartless from the last fight, and forced himself to focus attention on the battle at hand.
He had done okay so far to protect himself from the sudden attack the youth had surprised him with, he should have seen it coming sooner - the pain etched and fading in his body was a constant reminder of that - but had he been less naive of the extent of the damage that the decapitating Draw Slash would do, he might have well indeed tried to dodge it and be in even more pain that he was now. Sephiroth had pulled off a similar surprise attack at the beginning of his battle with him with a move faster than he could anticipate, once it had hit him the first time, he had learned when to look for it and block it safely. But this man who looked similar to the dark one-winged angel he couldn't block the damage of it entirely, and if it was true that he was Sephiroth's younger brother, could it be possible he was even more powerful than he was? Even from the first blow, it felt like he could be. It looked like Sora was about to find out the hard way, whether he liked it or not, and he was grateful that the only positive thing that had come out of Sephiroth's more bulkier brother attacking Radiant Garden was that Sora could learn to duel with the immense strength and speed the brothers seemed to possess.
The clash of his blade was felt against the katana of his opponent as it's wielder protected himself from the last few slashes of his counter, and Sora was pushed back by the powerful force he landed on the corner of the platform on the raised level just before the entrance to the racetrack, heels sliding slightly as he stood on the corner overlooking the small square of land he and Kadaj had just been standing. His brunette features set into a resentful frown, azure eyes scanned the twisted smirk on the face of his opponent before him, which had returned after the wielder of the key had caught the surprised look in his glowing, aquamarine eyes. He was boasting about his triumph over the king and how he had managed to permernantly scar him, as if it were some kind of mark or brand he had inflicted so both fighters would never forget the incident, but Sora didn't believe him or even care. Not even when Kadaj proclaimed that Mickey was probably waiting for the darkness to take him, and that Kadaj had stolen worlds away from him twice... he just didn't take the bad guy's words for it just yet. "Like I'd believe that!" he stated gruffly back, but the remainder of his sentence was lessened in anger as he mentally calmed himself. If the King was in danger, there was nothing he could do about it right now but defeat the man that was standing in his way for him to verify if it was true or not.
Even if the man was lying and the King was okay, that wasn't any less of a reason to defeat this user of darkness who was messing with the worlds as if it were his own. What did he want with the King's Castle, anyway? Was it revenge against Sora's friends because of something that happened between Cloud and Sephiroth? Or was it something more, or even less, if he was just helping worlds fall because of the sheer thrill of power? Motives could wait for later, Sora couldn't even begin to start letting his thoughts wander that way, and kept his mind in the moment.
The faster he defeated this mysterious figure, if he went all out and showed him just how powerful his friendship with the King could be, then he could save it if the King was actually in dire peril. Sure, he wasn't as close to His Majesty as his friends Donald and Goofy were, and even Riku seemed to have a closer bond to the little mouse, but Mickey had still assisted Sora and cared about him enough to prevent him from fighting so he could go find Kairi and Riku. He would never forget he came and saved the day like a miracle when he had helped him seal the Door To Darkness shut with their keyblades, and even though the King had come and gone throughout their adventures after that epic battle, he was there in the end when Sora needed his help the most. Sora could show his foe that power Mickey had given him. But maybe not just yet... this was the final battle for the castle after all, and the keyblade master not only needed to use force, but know when to use it and battle conservatively. He shouldn't go all out and use all his offensive power to brun out so quickly, until he had a good measure on his opponent first and adjust to when to use his power... right now all he knew that this swordsman liked to torment his opponents.
The wielder of the twin-bladed katana had leapt forward without warning after he had humorously dusted off his armor, which Sora noticed he had given some battle damage back in turn, bringing his keyblade defensively back up before him to try and parry the blades away from his body. Twisting his wrist and arms, it worked to a degree - Sora caught the single edge of his Kingdom Key between the two blades of the pronged weapon, locking the two blades together and pushing them off to the side, but one of the pieces of metal barely missed the mark off-center from his chest and instead sliced into his side. Grunting his teeth in pain, he pushed the youth off him and watched as he jumped backwards and taunted him. So he wanted him to show him what he had, huh? A matching smirk mirrored that of his antagonist, and Sora figured he would give him something to work with, even though he was impressively as strong and fast as anyone he had battled. Now he was standing at a distance from him, and at a range, Sora immediately switched to holding his key from off the hip and shot fowards a sudden blast of Blizzaga, a glacial orb of magic which shattered into ice shards and blasted towards the young man in leather. Ice-blue frost chilled through the air as the magic twisted and turned, freezing and snapping the ground underneath it as it it trailed a immediate frozen path between the keyblade master and his target, and suddenly before the shards had even made an impact Sora bolted forward as he combined the slippery surface of the frozen ground with a Sliding Dash, increasing his speed as the keyblade was thrusted before him to aim in turn at the villain's abdomen while it was still exposed from either distraction.
This was only the start, soon he would turn up the intensity of this fight, and then when he needed it he would unleash his power and show the bad guys what it meant to mess with his friends... but there was one thing he still wanted to know even if he didn't get an answer.
"Why are you messing with the worlds?"

After having jumped back a short distance when the first round of attacks came to an end, the dark swordsman was able to take a moment to size Sora up a little more having rushed straight into battle without a second thought about the consequences only moments prior. The cold chill of the wind paid another visit, whistling past the Remnant's ears and blowing through his hair as the bright glowing orbs of the 'little Sephiroth' continued to stare at his enemy with anticipation. Even though the battles against previous Keyblade users Mickey and Roxas had been tough, there was something about Sora, something about this brunette-haired boy that just continued to pour excitement and adrenaline through the slender Remnant's figure. This was going to be a battle Kadaj was not going to forget, win or lose... especially lose. But he wasn't going to lose this match. For only moments after taking time to watch Sora from a distance could the silver-haired Remnant figure a couple of things out.
T'was then that the Keyblade Master harked a comment out about not believing him about the Mouse King. Really... If Sora did have such a strong bond with his friends in relation to their hearts, surely all he'd need to do was search there for the answer? Kadaj's smirk turned wild for a moment as he tilted his head back a fraction to 'look down' upon Sora regardless to the fact that he was already a little taller anyway. "Look in your heart Sora. The Mouse King joined the Light to defend his castle. Surely you'd do the same for Destiny Island, no? So if I won that fight... why isn't the King here? You can't even feel his aura can you? It's because he's gone. Victim to my blade!" Kadaj boasted confidently as he shifted his legs slightly, moving his feet into position as he brought up his Souba to the side of his face, holding the blade in such a fashion as a Samurai Warrior would... or to be more precisely, like Sephiroth would. If there was even a hint of a reaction by Sora from this, then Kadaj would know that he's done battle with the 'angel' before.
If this was true, then Kadaj would know that Sora was just as tough as the stories about him describe. There were very few people alive who could tangle with the One Winged Angel and live to tell about it... Cloud being one of them but he barely survived the second fight during the Geostigma Crisis. There was only one solution then. Even though he didn't want to think about it, Kadaj knew that he was going to have to push himself beyond his limits, push himself beyond Sephiroth. However, things took a slight turn for the better. Kadaj's taunt worked and Sora was incoming fast with an attack. A bright flash of blue ice-like light was rapidly approaching. Even from a distance, the freezing chill of the attack was causing the hairs on the Remnant's neck to prickle up slightly. There wasn't much time to react in, the magical ice spell homing in fast and blocking most of his view of the brunette haired boy. That's when an idea cropped up. If Kadaj was having trouble spotting Sora behind the Blizzaga, perhaps it worked both ways and that Sora wouldn't be able to see the Remnant so easily either?
Wild smirk turning vicious, Kadaj quickly brought his Souba down from it's raised position and swiftly plunged the twin bladed weapon back into it's sheath which the silver-haired youth had grabbed from his back and was now holding it at his waist where any ordinary katana sheath could be found. Feeling the increasingly cold chill of the Blizzaga drawing closer and close, Kadaj's smirk vanished from his face as he started to concentrate, the Darkness aura emanating from his body and heart seemingly starting to grow thicker and heavier. A moment later and the increase of flowing Darkness fell stagnant as the whole of Kadaj's sheath flashed and glowed a subtle blue. With a thunderous roar, Kadaj poured every ounce of agility he had within his body into drawing his Souba, releasing a new, somewhat 'powered up' version of his Draw Slash directly into the Blizzaga's path as the spell itself smashed into his swinging left arm. This time however, the moment the attack was unleashed, a large 90 degree arc of ground before the silver-haired youth cracked from the sheer pressure as if a Fat Bandit has just fallen over. Shards of rock and rubble were sent along with the 'powered up' Draw Slash attack which appeared to be larger then normal and traveled towards it's opponent at a faster rate.
Kadaj himself ended up staggering backwards a fair distance until he finally managed to catch his balance and regain his footing. Not even looking to see what had happened with the new Draw Slash, the Remnant's attention was solely focused on his left arm, which was now literally encased in a prison of ice. Not even shaking his arm around and even taking a moment to kneel down and smash it off the ground did anything to shift the ice. With a grunt, feeling the added weight pulling him down, Kadaj stood up and noticed his ice covered hand was still holding onto his Souba. This was bad... Shifting his body around so his frozen arm has behind him, the silver-haired youth raised his right arm up and watched as electricity crackled from his fingertips. A subtle green glow could be easily seen shining out through the ice covering his left forearm. "Nice attack." Kadaj complimented, his smirk returning as he started to feel even more excited with this fight. He seemed to completely ignore the brunette's question as his excitement was clearly started to take over him. Kadaj just wanted to keep fighting! "That Blizzaga came at me quicker then I thought... Now looks like it's my turn to play with magic for a while..."

Gah! Taking a hit to land one looking cool as hell, but did it have to hurt so bad!? After he’d gotten some much needed space from the sword-slinging psycho he briefly gave his spear a squeeze, and was relieved to see that his fingers could respond. Still, relying on the damaged arm would be hazardous now, and he didn’t want to start healing just yet. He had pulled out his Regen against the white-haired just to spite him and his stupid poison, but closing wounds after less than a minute of conventional battle was just plain boring. Eventually it would be a nice “in your face” but at this exact second he would just have to deal with it. That masked creep was already standing again, so Gilgamesh got back to business. He brought the spear overhead, gave the whole thing an extra showy spin, and brought it back to the ready. However, he had switched hands; his left now gripped the front while the damaged right supported at the back. With any luck the rearrangement would evade notice.
Already the guy was back to talking. It was good to have someone willing to chat with you in the heat of battle. Oftentimes Gilgamesh’s opponent would keep their mouth shut or tell him to do so. It was a nice change of- did he just say “old man”? He visibly squirmed in frustration, but did his best to return the banter anyway. “You’re not too bad yourself, kiddo.” He tilted his head, trying overly hard to appear composed. “I’m not just some carrot you can dice up though!” An orange haze settled over his body momentarily, signifying his placement outside of the standard flow of time as Haste instilled itself upon him. The world around him seemed to crawl just seconds slower, though it wasn’t anything the swordsman would ordinarily notice unawares.
As the temporal pocket fazed into place around him noises from below stalked up the side of the building and crept into his ears. Nothing specific, but the sounds of battle for certain. In all honesty the nomad was itching to see how the kid was doing. He refrained from taking so much as a peek though, even of the howling of steel on steel called for all of his attention with all of its might. The guy was short, but he knew what he was doing. He proved that much to Gilgamesh in the depths of the castle. Knowing that the youth was not someone who needed to be looked after, he resolved to lend not even his attention to his actions. Gilgamesh would just focus on the enemy before him, and only once that was out of the way would he turn toward the fight occurring parallel to him. If he wanted to know the details he would just have to ask once the dust settled, right? After all, it was only natural for two warriors to boast about their victory at war’s end.
Gilgamesh readied himself when the crimson sword underwent a transformation. Jeez, was there some part of this guy that didn’t arbitrarily change? Although......was this his own power, or a property of the weapon itself? Maybe that blade of his was more of a winner than I thought.... Before he could consider this possible new trophy in depth it was flying right at him. Ordinarily such a sudden attack might have landed, or at least come close, but with his newfound speed sidestepping the thing was a breeze. His legs felt as though they had been set ablaze as he broke into a run in perfect contradiction to the oncoming charge. But right before their came of martial chicken could reach a conclusion the little ginger lunatic ducked around him. Feeling satisfied that he had seemingly won, Gilgamesh turned with him and readied a spear thrust when something hit him upside the head. The chain! It didn’t quite findd its way around his neck, but its position clinging to the side of his face nearly threw his balance off completely. W-What the!?

So, this man enjoyed banter - well, that was a nice change from most. It also showed that for once, his opponent had enough self-confidence to be able to speak and fight at the same time, especially talking himself up. It certainly made the battle more interesting, and made Valerius considerably more satisfied with his choice in opponents. Though it would probably pay off for him more in the end if he were the one fighting that keyblade wielder, he figured the silver-haired youth could more than handle him, and his own opponent was quite amusing enough for him to be satisfied. Plus, there was that hidden power he had used...the heartless wanted to know more about that, or at least try to discover it's source. He couldn't see much of this man's face behind all the cloth wrapped around it, after all - but that only added to the excitement. A mysterious opponent...very nice. He liked it.
Though, he had to snicker a bit when the man said he would not be cut up like a carrot, only to end up with an orange haze seconds later. "Funny you should say that, considering you're looking a bit like one..." Valerius said, though he never considered for a second what the orange haze may have been. A magic spell or anything never crossed his mind - he was too absorbed in the battle and the talking at this point, and considering he had never really been defeated before...well, that led one to believe oneself to be rather unstoppable, and thus one stopped becoming concerned with any sorts of magic 'upgrades' - to the point that one might not even consider they were happening. Whether or not that would prove to be a weakness was yet to be determined...
...but in Valerius' mind, he had no weaknesses!
The heartless had managed to successfully duck around behind the other man, throwing his weapon up and over his head - and with satisfaction he felt the connecting chain make contact and tighten. It was not quite in the position that he had wanted it, but all the same, he had an advantage....and it was at that moment he felt the spear attack the man had been readying catch the side of his abdomen. He had not even anticipated an attack...but then, maybe the man had not really made one, and he had just slammed his own body off of his opponent's weapon in his struggle for control of the battle - either way it didn't matter, all that mattered was that contact had been made.
Valerius grunted in unexpected pain from the injury - though it had grazed off the side of his ribcage, it was enough to draw blood, and the cut was long even if it wasn't that deep. "Good thing I already have you for a second," the heartless growled through clenched teeth, bringing up his knee twice in quick succession that he hoped would land somewhere near the man's lower back before he felt the chain slip from the man's face - after all, being around his cheek was not really that secure, but he had still had the advantage for a moment, and that was all that counted.
He took a second to glance at his side to see that his shirt had indeed ripped, and that blood was colouring the white fabric a deep red - the same colour as his weapon, of course. He glared at the wound for a second before the expression became a smirk - well, at least it matched nicely, there was always that. And then, he quickly returned to the battle at hand, lunging forward with his two-handed weapon without real aim, but just hoping that one of their sharp edges would catch his opponent somewhere, relying on his speed and their close proximity to one another to hopefully land another hit.

A chill blasted through the air, and it wasn't just from the freezing ice spell Sora had just cast, but from the cold winds blasting through the residential areas that had been hollowed out by the villains that had taken over the castle. Without lamposts, mailboxes, benches, popcorn vending carts and potted foliage that had been decoratively placed around the serene area to absorb the foul weather now brewing through, the entire town would not only be covered in a darkened haze, but dust and sand until it eventually became a permanent ghost town. The keeper of the Kingdom Key did not want that, as the castle he had seen had become a much livelier and fun place to be since he cleared the keep of darkness - and no person should ever have to be driven out of home in fear for the bad guys to put their feet up. It just wasn't right, and if the wielders of malicious darkness were going to be cold about it, the Keyblade Master was going to meet them with the same reception. The high-level Blizzard spell would suffice, increasing the speed of his quick movement attack, and teach this 'mini-Sephiroth' a thing or two!
Before he had shot off the Blizzaga spell though, the silver-headed youth shot off some smart-alec taunt to try and explain why he would be telling the truth at Sora trying to call his bluff, stating if the King wasn't here and Sora couldn't feel his 'aura' then that must mean his heart had been taken by darkness. The spiky-haired teenager would have responded to that, if it weren't for the fact that he was already racing towards his opponent at a rapid speed, watching as the katana wielder raised his opponent like Sephiroth would have. Which only proved more in his mind that we was in relation to Cloud's antagonist, which the only reaction Sora made was increasing the furrow of his brunette eyebrows and bared his teeth angrily in a disapproving look, and tried to figure out from the gesture which attack he was going to pull out next from the stance. It would be foolish to think the stance he was in would give away what attack he was about to unleash if he relied on what he knew from the one-winged angel, simply because he wouldn't give himself away that easily, and this kid wasn't like his sibling.
As he raced in to deliver his strike, his question was quickly answered as the swordsman plunged his weapon back into his sheath and started charging up an attack, using the power of a terrible stagnant darkness that turned the sheath bright blue. Not this attack again, gimme a break! the teenager thought to himself, able to see the glow of the Draw Slash through the blinding white of the bolt of ice, since it had traveled further from his perspective towards Kadaj and there was more distance between the azure-eyed boy and the spell he had allowed time for before using his keyblade technique to follow up. This attack was piercing, so he wasn't going to try blocking it again... maybe this time he should evade it. Pulling out of his attack at the last moment as the Draw Slash sliced through the glacial trail of magic and cracked the very earth beneath it, sending frost volleys and snowflakes everywhere, Sora pulled into his evasive maneuver and used a Dodge Roll to tumble underneath the vertical arc alongside the border of the 90-degree hole in the ground. In his moment of spinning over the ground granted a small moment of invulnerability as he flipped underneath, but as he came ouf of the combat roll and was vulnerable again for a unlucky split second, he righted himself in a hunched position and got hit by the aftermath of the ethereal blade's rock and rubble and copped another lot of damage washing through his already pained body.
The keyblade master grunted and staggered for another split second, flailing even further over in his stance leaning over, but with his feet stretched far apart in this defensive body pose prevented him from loosing his balance and teetering over altogether. He had accumulated some damage now from all of his opponent's strikes made against him, pushing his endurance and his emotional state to it's breaking point, and with the comment Kadaj made to jeer in contempt at his bond with the King only intensified the build-up of energy he was now feeling coursing through his very being. As the tail of the wave of Draw Slash wiped through him, suddenly there was a clear orb of energy formed around the Keyblade Master's body that was shattered and exploded in all directions, as he spread his limbs out to float above the ground while his entire body pulsed with a white light. Feet falling back on the ground another few split seconds later, the Draw Slash had sliced part of the building behind him at an angle which caused it to crash down on top of the Keyblade Master, but the boy with different-colored clothes of white, black, red and yellow only looked up as the shadow cast over him of the immense weight of bricks and mortar that was about to crush him. Within the blink of an eye, a light had shone before Sora as he zipped all over the piece of titanic rubble before zipping above it on the other side, stopping in place with his keyblade arm crossed over his chest as the building beneath him slowly slid apart into fractured pieces.
It was his turn to look down condescendingly in return to Kadaj as he finished his own matter-slicing move, a cocky grin plastered on his smug face. "Ha! Is that one-trick pony the best you can do?"
The building pieces already collapsed to the ground, Sora now in his Limit Form wasted no time on using them against his opponent, instead continuing his momentum upwards to land on the side of the building behind him and running along the wall to his left towards his foe. "No, you're wrong! A friendship isn't something you use on your friends to see if they're alive! Even in the deepest darkness, a light shines within, and the light of friendship that comes from the heart never goes out! But I wouldn't expect you to ever understand that!" the keyblader yelled as he blitzed along the wall, then pushed off with his feet from the wall just before his momentum ran out, about the same time dust was thrown up off the ground from the collapsed building piece impacting the ground below. Kadaj looked like he was already preoccupied with the aftermath of the Blizzaga attack, which Sora was relieved had hit instead of the Sliding Dash ability of his, and had successfully frozen the swordman's wielding arm. But not for long... holding it behind him and using his right arm, Sora saw a small green glow cast under the ice, which could have only meant a healing spell. This was good for two reasons... not only did this mean his sword arm was out of use for the moment, but it also meant he was distracted during that time while he cured his impairment.
What better time to attack?
The keyblade wielder was glad he hadn't used the power of having Gilgamesh in his party to burst into Valor Form, as if this glowing-eyed adolescent had melee and magic, it would have put him at a severe disadvantage even with two blades. And from this angle as he glanced at the fight, Gilgamesh looked at a disadvantage, so burrowing any amount of power using their bond of comadre wasn't ideal. Leaping through the air above his target, Sora decided to let the leather-clad villain have it... it would be hard but possible for him to stop healing and block with the frozen arm, but even harder for him to block both from the front... and back. Unleashing a move he remembered once before using from his first adventure, Sora threw the Kingdom Key at a rapid speed into a spin down on his opponent while he still had some distance again, continuing his earlier intended combo with Strike Raid five times in a row in succession. Sometimes he would summon the keyblade back to him in a flash of instantaneous light after a throw, other times he let it run back through the frozen young man to return like a boomerang back to his hand, randomizing it each time to keep him guessing and unable to predict what was coming next. And he hadn't finished his assaulting string of combos, not by far. He had told himself he was going to up the pace of this intense battle and not give his enemy any slack... he was not here to test him nor play with him, just like anyone else that messed with the worlds or his friends, he had to defeat him and get Disney Castle back for the King and his friendly citizens.
He had to. Loosing was not an option. Not when the King could be in danger, which was more important than any kingdom he had to save.

Kadaj was momentarily much more concerned with the condition of his arm to have noticed anything in particular regarding the brunette haired Keybarer. If he wasn't able to use his sword arm to it's fullest extent, then continuing with this match could prove to have some serious side effects. Though the silver-haired youth wasn't too frightened about loosing his arm in a freak ice-shattering accident, he was certainly worried that the added weight of the ice itself would slow his reaction speed down thus giving Sora some free hits. Then again, what was stopping him from using the addition 'armour' to his advantage? A forcible smack across the back of the head with something as rock-hard as Kadaj's 'ice-arm' would yield deadly results. But Sora wasn't the type to just sit there and takes chess-like blows in this battle, so the most logical answer for now would be to get rid of this ice as soon as possible and the silver-haired youth already had a couple of plans in mind.
Perhaps a few blocks from the Keyblade could shatter the ice? Maybe Kadaj himself could fire a Firaga at his arm to try and melt the arm-blocking status? Using his own Souba was out of the question for that was currently frozen to his hand. T'was only when the sound of a blade slicing neatly through a large solid object, did Kadaj's attention return to that of the battle. Glancing up, the glowing-eyed Remnant watched as the master Keybarer sliced away at a gigantic lump of building which had fell victim to his most recent Draw Slash. Yet there was something strange with this scene. Sora seemed to have had a change of clothing during the time Kadaj had checked out his arm. What? Didn't the master Keybarer like fighting in dirty clothing? But there was something else. The brunette haired boy felt... stronger. What was this? Though temporally bewildered as to why Sora felt like changing his attire to a similar red coloured set, Kadaj couldn't help but continue to feel even more excited about this battle.
With eyes locked onto the Keybarer like a hawk hunting it's prey, Kadaj twisted his body around as he watched Sora sprint across the side of the building off around to his left. Keeping his frozen arm behind him for now, the silver-haired Remnant held his right arm up across his chest defensively as the crackles of lightning continued to jump from his fingertips. Yet something didn't seem right with this situation. Judging from what glimpse Kadaj could get from Sora's face and by the way he was sprinting across the wall, it would only seem most predictable that Sora was coming in for an attack. Couldn't the Keybarer see that the Remnant's right arm was still free and with the signs of a potentially shocking spell being launched at any moment? Not wanting to spoil the surprise though, Kadaj kept quiet and just waited and watched, twisting his body around to face the Keybarer as he made him jump towards him from the wall.
Kadaj's eyes flashed brightly the moment he saw Sora leap in for attack. Throwing his right arm back behind him, Kadaj's hand seemed to burst into life as a ball of electricity made it's known within his palm. His first reaction being to throw his right arm forwards and give the Keybarer a shocking present in the form of a Thundaga spell, he instead noticed a chance for him to free his frozen arm from captivity instead. A split second passed and the making of the Thundaga spell vanished into thin air as the Remnant's piercing-like eyes caught sight the incoming Strike Raid attack. Perfect! Throwing out his ice-bound left arm instead, Kadaj smirked wildly as he flung his arm into the path of the Strike Raid. A deafening 'ping' shot through Kadaj's ears as an instant later he felt his left arm smashing into the cold, hard floor underfoot. Glancing down, the Remnant noticed his plan failed for his arm were still trapped in it's cold prison. Shooting his head back up to where Sora was, Kadaj's eyes widen as..
POW!!!
Kadaj's head flew back as the full force of a follow up Strike Raid smacked him square in the face, quickly followed by a third hammering him sharply in the chest. Expecting the barrage to continue, Kadaj gasped as he did his best to catch his balance, the leather clad figure vanishing into a cluster of black crow-like feathers before the next Strike Raid could cause any damage. An instant later and the Remnant Leader appeared only a short distance away, however, directly underneath the brunette Keybarer. Fury burning in his glaring eyes, Kadaj threw his right arm up into the air, aiming his palm at Sora as three gigantic Flame Pillars burst up from the ground around the leather clad villain and rocketed high into the sky. Each of the Flame Pillars was roughly five meters across, much greater then Sephiroth's version and blasted a vortex of white-hot fire high into the darkened sky. A violent vibration was sent shuddering through the ground from the sheer force of the Flame Pillars exploding out of the ground. For added effect, the torrents of flame span on the spot, sucking in most objects within a fair distance towards the center of the hellish flares, threatening to trap whatever was unlucky enough to be dragged into the middle of the raging inferno.
