((OOC: lets get this party started!! I've not yet been able to unleash Genesis in regards to combat, the last raid I had was mostly talking. So lets get going and see what happens. eh? =D))
Traverse Town seemed normal enough, the regular civilians going about their daily lives, buying goods, selling good, synthesizing goods or just loitering about in the streets. Yep, it all seemed normal enough, except that Cid Highwind had now left and was in Radiant Garden instead, however his old item was still present only with a new owner inside. Everything seemed to be at peace and all the people within the First District seemed happy at least. What else was there that could be done to keep those happy expressions spread across their faces? Waking up each day knowing that there was a greatly reduced risk of Heartless attacking thanks to the world itself being one with the Light? But that was the problem... the world belonged to the Light. Yet as much as it should remain this way, the facts remained that this world would merely vanish into nothingness along with every other world, should the Light be allowed to continuing taking worlds for themselves.
Light cannot exist without Darkness.
And the Darkness was coming.
The two large doors that lead out of the First District, towards the area where travels coming and going from Traverse Town would leave their Gummi Ships, slowly opened up just enough so a gap was left big enough for a human to pass through. And a human did indeed step through. Slowly, the large wooden doors creaked at their hinges as they closed, creating a small gust of wind to blow out the long flowing scarlet coat that hung from the travelers shoulders. Auburn hair joined in the dancing with his coat, forcing the young man to raise up one of his arms to brush back some of the strands from his bright blue eyes. A small smile spread across his lips, the man known as Genesis watched as the civilians of this new world turned and glanced his way, before smiling and continuing on with their day. It was a shame really, knowing that he had some to this world to disrupt their peaceful lives.
But someone had to do it. However, not really wanting to compare himself to his old and possible still insane friend, Sephiroth, Genesis took a moment to browse the area he was in, taking note that there were two other doorways that left this District. One off to his right that appeared to have been boarded up for some reason, and one straight ahead of him, a fair distance away down an alley between two buildings. Seeing as one route was blocked off, the scarlet coated man made his move, simply walking away from the doors he just passed through, off towards the entrance leading to the Second District. A few moments later and after taking a minute to do some window shopping of the item and weapon shops, Genesis proceeded onwards until he found himself within the Second District. Much quieter in here and a larger, less cluttered area to wait for the opposition to come and stop him again.
That reminded him of the last battle he found himself in. That strange, deserted castle he passed through before finding the door that lead him into the black and white world of Timeless River. It was in there that he encountered two large mice, both claiming to be royalty. Something didn't add up with those two, but little did Genesis know that there was so, so much more he didn't know nor would he know, let alone understand. But Genesis was a smart one and surely he'd figure things out sooner or later, but for now, the Goddess had spoken and his blade has to be turned against the Light once more for him to become the savior of the worlds. The sound of trickling water reached the SOLDIER's ears and his head tilted upwards a fraction, along with his eyes perking up to try and detect the source. "Ripples form on the water's surface..." The scarlet coated man said aloud as he walked forwards from the entrance to the First District, his coat blowing out slightly behind him as he moved. Coming to a halt at the small wall acting as a fence or barrier to stop people from falling down to the large open area below, Genesis placed his leather gloved hands up onto the small wall and peered over the edge down at the fountain below, the source of the trickling water. "... the wandering soul knows no rest." He continued, a small smile gracing his lips as he pushed himself up off the wall, running a gloved hand through his hair once more as he stood straight. Turning around, he leaned back and sat upon the wall, staring off towards the doors leading back into the First District and waited.
Waited and watched in patience.

It had been a short time since his trek through the Deep Jungle, and the moment when Angeal decided he needed to go things alone for a while. He needed to find out some answers for himself, and with this war now in it's peak of intensity, he could not allow anyone to be kept from their destines by accompanying him. Where he was going, Angeal would want no one to follow. His travels eventually brought him to Traverse Town by way of a gummi ship, which was owned by a kind man in his forties by the name of Bernan; an individual who seemed very curious about why Angeal was traveling to Traverse Town given the state of things. Their conversation still echoed inside his mind as he approached the main gates of the tall walled city.
"Son, now I know you seem like a respectable individual and you have a perfectly dignified reason as to why you're carrying that sword around, but don't you know what's been happening?" asked the pilot as he eased back in his seat, and throttled back into a steady cruising speed. He raised a thumb to the brim of his hat to slightly tip it up so he could see Angeal's face. The former SOLDIER looked over to the space cowboy with a solemn expression, but decided to act curious to learn the man's perspective on the war. "What do you mean?" he had asked politely to the older man with the dark stubble on his jaw. He had taken a brief moment then to glance out the front glass to see his destination off in the starry distance. Bernan grinned underneath the shade of his hat as he removed the toothpick in his mouth, and narrowed an eye at the raven haired youth as he leaned in closer to his passenger. "Well you are aware there's something up with the worlds, aren't you?" asked Bernan, which received no reply but a rather odd glance from the other man. The cowboy reached over and slapped Angeal's shoulder before pointing at him, which got Angeal's attention long enough to see he was looking into his blue mako eyes. "Now don't treat me like ye think I'm stupid boy. I was there when Agrabah fell! We were on a delivery to Twlight Town, and we could all see the Dark consuming the world from our ship!"
The elderly man had then retreated into a sunken posture in his seat, into a solitude of temporary silence as Angeal observed him with a bewildered look. As his expression softened, the former SOLIDER brushed his shoulder off while looking at the console to notice a flashing red light. The auto pilot had been turned on. After he had cleared his throat, he spoke to Bernan softly. "I believe what you are saying, but could you tell me what you saw? What it looked like?" he asked as he leaned forward slightly to peer underneath the now lowered hat of the pilot. After a few more moments of silence, Angeal got his answer after he figured Bernan wasn't going to talk to him again. "It was a sight. Black tendrils stretched up and around the world, like a black octopus eating it's prey er' somethin' ya know. Then more of em' started to erupt from the world's surface until the whole thing was taken over by the Dark."
Angeal remained silent as he pushed his weight onto the doors, and as they opened he entered slowly into the First District. The sight that met him was of nothing extravagant, but rather a plain open courtyard of a small, seemingly quiet town. A skeptical look grasped Angeal's features as he slowly made his way up a small flight of stairs to the front of the item shop. It's light began to cast a warm haze of orange upon his skin through the windows while he passed by, taking the path to the right up more stairs. As his black boots reach the final step, his blue, mako infused eyes glanced over towards a door on the back of the Item Shop, then over to the much larger wooden pair that led to the second district. If anything that was probably where the main portion of the town was located, and probably where he could find some food and a warm place to stay for the night.
The former SOLDIER had not received a good night's rest since he had left Balamb Garden, with a promise to Squall for his return. Deep Jungle had been nothing but a few hours every other night as they made their week long search of the Dark party, only to find out that there was never one to begin with. However it had been worthwhile for him to go, for another world resting in the safety of the Light, which was according to Zack and Squall the utmost important thing right now. With a solemn expression Angeal placed his hands upon the thick, oaken doors and pushed forward to ease him open. As he raised his head and opened his eyes, their gaze met mako blue in red. Once he was through the door, Angeal stood there transfixed upon the sight of his childhood friend sitting upon the stone banister. "Genesis...what are you doing here?" Though it appeared that the time was that of night, this world seemed to have it's own well controlled state of temperature. It was neither too hot nor too cold, as well as there being hardly any wind or many clouds in the large, star covered sky. Perhaps it was early evening then, for surely the people seen walking about and engaging in everyday activity within the First District, would be asleep if it were later then it seemed, no? Still, it was of no concern, merely a thought that crossed the SOLDIER's mind as he pondered things, waiting patiently to see if anyone from the Light was going to show up and demand his reasons for being here. Though it saddened the scarlet coated man. He far from enjoyed being associated with the Darkness, those days had passed at his defeat to Zack. Yet, for some reason, he just couldn't bring himself to disobeying the soft, warm words of the Goddess. Closing his eyes for a moment, Genesis folded his arms across his chest and lowered his head down towards the ground, taking his vision away from doors that lead to the First District.
She was so beautiful, her words warming his heart as if she were one of the Lifestream itself. His destiny had been foretold and his blade was going to strike vengeance upon those who didn't follow the Goddess' will. The Darkness needed to be balanced out as he told the Mouse King, but he seemed too preoccupied in the upkeep of his castle and the lands surrounding it. What was it the Mouse King said? Something along the lines of the large crystal ball-like object being the key to the Light of the castle? The auburn haired man just let out a small snort of air down his nose, making a 'hah' sound from within his throat. A large mouse claming to be a King? What was next? Angeal would randomly return from the dead and confront him here for the dominance of this world? T'was then that a sound happened before him, pulling the SOLDIER out of his thoughts and back to reality. Slowly lifting his head up, his eyes tracing along the ground, he landed his gaze upon a pair of familiar looking dark brown boots.
Truth be told, Genesis was half pleased yet half shocked to see who was standing before him. Was he in such a deep state of mind that he couldn't feel this presence getting closer and closer? Regardless, the SOLDIER 1st Class lowered his arms from his chest and pushed his hands against the stone banister in order to get up to his feet. Looking the familiar man before him up and down, Genesis decided to play it cool and just offered the young, raven-haired man a small smile. "Well well, Angeal." The scarlet coated man said as he took a few paces forwards towards his old friend. It had been such a long time after his defeat to Zack and being recruited by Deepground, he didn't honestly think either Angeal or Sephiroth were still alive. Either his conclusion was wrong or there was a greater power at work here. Come to think of it, how did Genesis himself come to these worlds? All he could remember was that land of pure pitch black darkness.
"I could ask you the same thing... But to answer you, the Goddess told me to come here. My influence will help shape the worlds I set foot on... all for her will. All for the goodness of the worlds..." He explained, more so in the form of a riddle then anything else, but the scarlet coated man just turned around slightly, his right hand side now facing the trainer of the Puppy as he raised up his left hand before him and brushed his gloved fingers through a few loose strands of his hair, looking towards Angeal from the corner of his eye.. "... and nothing will get in my way." He finished up, before turning back to face his old friend fully once more. With a slight tilt of his head, Genesis peered past Angeal for a second, expecting to see Zack come charging in through the doors and stand beside the raven-haired man, though when nothing happened, Genesis merely stared at Angeal quizzically .
"I was expecting to see the Puppy by now. If you have greeted me with your presence, Zack usually isn't too far behind you. And what of Sephiroth? How is he coping with his insanity? You think what happened in Nibleheim was too much?" Genesis asked, chuckling somewhat after the reference to Sephiroth, knowing full well he played a large part in turning Sephiroth into what he is today... if he's still alive that is.

Angeal remained firm in his position as Genesis descended from the stone wall, and began making his usual pace back and forth as he normally would. The crimson haired youth's answer came in a riddle, which was something Angeal should have predicted having known the man so long. There was usually never a time when Genesis' words didn't reflect LOVELESS in some way; if not by direct quote then with some other quizzical yet poetic substitute. However Angeal was used to this type of talk from him, and understood the former First Class more than anybody. More so even than Sephiroth could. It was Angeal who came to Genesis' side when he needed friends during the war with Shinra, where as Sephiroth hunted him down as the suits ordered him to. They were not the ones who went insane and murdered an entire village upon learning their origin, although it was safe to say that Angeal had been a bit disturbed about Project G to begin with. He was still coming to terms with what he was, and the revelations about what that knowledge allowed him to do if he chose so.
When his friend spoke about the Goddess again, Angeal began to think it was yet another relation to LOVELESS, however when he had finished his sentence there were second thoughts. A quizzical look briefly took hold of Angeal's expression at the crimson warrior's mention of his 'influence shaping worlds', but the former SOLIDER continued to watch Genesis in silence. Something about what he said put the raven haired warrior off a bit, and now Angeal began to suspect that Genesis knew something he didn't about what was going on. A quick glance past the conversation of focus revealed an empty courtyard of stone. From what Angeal could tell, it seemed to branch off to the right, and divided the shops from what appeared to be a bell tower. To the left, bright blue mako eyes found a decently laid out hotel.
Eventually he brought his gaze back to Genesis, who was now looking quizzically over Angeal's shoulder at the oaken doors behind him. A mere "What?" was answered with a response that Angeal took a bit humorous. Somehow he knew Zack was bound to be brought into this conversation, though Angeal would have to admit that Genesis had all the right to be curious about him. "Back then, he would have been. However I know nothing of Zack or Sephiroth, where they are, or what they're up to." he spoke up, stepping forward to stand at the man's left. He stared forward at the bell tower for a moment more in silence before he spoke up again with closed eyes. "I just recently came from the Deep Jungle. There were reports of a group aligned with the Dark slaughtering civilians of a local camp, but they proved to be nothing more than false rumors." added Angeal as he opened his eyes to look over to Genesis.
"You met a Goddess?"

Genesis smiled at his old friend before turning his head away and peering off over towards the large bell tower across the opposite side of the large courtyard, staring at it for a moment as he momentarily pondered it's use. There seemed to be a platform up there along with a small alcove that had been boarded up, perhaps to stop critters from getting inside the bell perhaps? Bright blue eyes raised up the length of the tower and came to a rest on the bell itself, barely seen through one of the small glassless windows. Upon hearing the raven-haired warriors voice to his left, Genesis just smirked slightly as he glanced towards his friend, watching him in silence as he listened to what he had to say about Zack and Sephiroth. Unfortunate that he seemed to know nothing of either of their locations. Or maybe he did and just didn't want to tell? Though the scarlet SOLDIER couldn't see any reason to why he'd reveal nothing, it wasn't going to damage his honour or dreams, so perhaps he spoke the truth?
"Pity..." Genesis said, his head returning into the direction of the Gizmo Shop and the bell tower above it. "Would have been interesting to see if Zack had grown any stronger since our last encounter. I owe him a good smack for what he did before I met the Goddess... though I ought to thank him as well. The Gift of the Goddess is simply the pride of SOLDIER. It was he who showed it to me..." Genesis said, casting a quick glance out the corner of his eye towards his old friend. Though it was unknown to him, the scarlet SOLDIER had temporarily shared the same thoughts as Angeal. While Sephiroth did so insane, more so then Angeal and himself, he was still ordered to hunt them down. That only continued to make the SOLDIER despise all that was Shin-Ra. "Maybe I'll pay Hojo a visit if I find a way back home..." The LOVELESS fan said as he turned to face his SOLDIER companion fully before his smirk turned slightly darker.
"But there's something I need to do here first..." With that said, Genesis turned away from Angeal and jumped forwards, landing upon the stone wall before him with ease before leaping over the fountain just beneath him, down into the courtyard. Landing with the sound of flapping leather and a small thud, the SOLDIER walked away from the entrance to First District, towards the Gizmo Shop. Upon reaching the middle of the courtyard however, he stopped, paused and then turned around to glace back towards Angeal. He said nothing, nor did any expression cross his lips. Instead, he held his right hand out to his side and gestured his fingers into gripping an object. A moment later, a flash of fire shot out from his hand which manifested itself into the shape of his infamous Rapier. Holding the long, one handed blade tightly, he paused his actions again as continued to stare in Angeal's direction. "Tell me..." He spoke up. "... What is your view on the worlds current situation, Angeal? The Light and the Dark? You can feel it, can you not? The Light within this world, giving people hope, peace... prosperity?" Genesis glanced away from the former raven-haired SOLDIER for a moment, his bright blue eyes peering towards the hotels doors.
He waited a moment to listen to whatever words Angeal had for him, before glancing back his way and allowing his smirk to appear back across his lips again. He shook his head from side to side slightly, closing his eyes as he did so before staring back into Angeal's mako-infused eyes from distance. "The Goddess has spoken. The worlds need a new hero! If Light continues to grow in strength, it will destroy the Darkness and tip the scales of good and bad, right and wrong, off balance. The Mouse King did not heed my words and I was forced to take action... will you listen to me, Angeal? Will you not see reason and the danger the Light threatens if it continues to grow? Continues to claim worlds for itself?!" The scarlet coated man said, almost lectured, perhaps even pleaded for the mentor of Zack to see what he was talking about. Genesis turned his back upon his friend, Rapier held down by his side in a casual manner for the time being as he pondered his own words for a moment. Maybe he wasn't clear enough? He was sure Angeal would ask questions before taking action though. The last thing he wanted to do was to end up battling his old friend, for whom he hadn't seen in so many years...

Angeal felt a slight sense of peace in the world and himself as the two friends stood there momentarily, staring at the Gizmo Shop as Genesis continued the conversation. The former First Class spoke about his last clash with Zack, which Angeal figured to have been some time after his own duel with The Puppy. However he remained unaware of his friend's duel in Radiant Garden as Hojo's name was brought up, which broke Angeal's attention on Zack. The scientist did hold a big responsibility in everything involving Shinra's science department, and had directly changed the lives of three individuals plus more. The Ex-SOLIDER merely shook his head at the thought of the arrogant worm, and the following thoughts of Hollander. Angeal would not even begin to address the memories of that man and all he put himself and Genesis through. Sure he had helped in a way near the end of their war with Shinra, but in the end he was just like Hojo. No respect for life, only experiments and the results of their thesis.
'Now that's pitiful'
As Genesis made his acrobatic move to the open stone courtyard, Angeal slightly urged forward with a slight motion of his hand, accompanied by a barely audible noise in his throat. As the Rapier erupted from the fire in Genesis' hand, Angeal propelled himself upwards with a gliding step, and now stood upon the stone wall. He looked down upon his old friend with a stern brow as he was asked some very deep and complexing questions in regards to his opinion on the war. What were his beliefs? He often asked that himself these days, as did many that he was sure of. He had been in the grey area for far too long though, and he could feel that inertia feeling of ultimatum approaching. Angeal would have to make a decision on which side in this war he chose, and as Genesis finished his plead of information, some things became more clear than before. His friend was speaking about the Light as if it had done him and the Goddess, whoever that was, a great deal of harm.; as if he despised it.
In truth there were a good many things about life that Angeal never found pleasant, among them being their origin. Yet hardships were something that made life an intriguing challenge, for if not for obstacles then how would one gain any honor in their journey? This talk that Genesis spoke now, seemed like the war with Shinra all over again. Perhaps he was the Dark presence the rumors were speaking of, and if that was the case, he would have to take down his best friend, much to his dismay. "So what are you going to do Genesis, spread Darkness throughout this world? Can you even live with yourself by letting harm come to these innocent people!?" he asked defiantly to his friend as he gestured around to the stores and other buildings. Blue mako eyes pierced the back of the red coat with a gaze that spoke of nothing shorter than sincerity.
Angeal jumped forward over the running fountain, to land just in front of it in a crouch. As he slowly stood up, he drew the SOLDIER sword from the magnetic grip on the back of his leather brace between his shoulders. With the sound of a fierce snap, several white feathers shot out into the air from his right shoulder, and his two white wings followed to extend several feet in a wide spread. "We can go find Hojo and Sephiroth together, right now. This world doesn't have to suffer your wrath when we can make him find a way to restore the balance, and in return we can repay him with a warrior's death." spoke Angeal as he took two steps forward before stopping completely. His leather gloves creaked as his right hand tightened it's grip on the sword's hilt. "My oath is to protect the innocent. My enemy is all that creates suffering."

A slight breeze blew past, a mild one, catching the ends of Genesis' long scarlet coat slightly and blowing it out and off to one side a short distance, towards the hotel, before falling back to gravity and coming to a halt beside his legs once more. The SOLDIER closed his eyes and tilted his head upwards a fraction, his arms raising up a short way as if allowing the wind to embrace and wrap around him. When it died down, the scarlet coated man turned around to see that Angeal has climbed upon the stone wall and was now peering down at him from his raised position. Genesis merely blinked slowly and gave his fellow 'experiment' a smile, shaking his head from side to side upon hearing his words. That wasn't strictly true. Yes, he was going to spread Darkness throughout this world, but no harm would come to it's residents unless they brought it upon themselves. Genesis had no idea what the Heartless were nor did he have a single clue on how to summon them. To have not crossed the little black critters path either up to this point was something extraordinary as well. A human with such a strong heart and presence as that as Sephiroth, would surely attract attention, no?
"Darkness will take this world, but I have no intention of hurting anybody. I merely plan to carry out the Goddess' will and restore the balance. The Light cannot be allowed to keep growing, however I have no ambition to snuff out it's power completely. Balance must be restored so if needs be, I shall fight along side the Light, instead of against it." The young man said, peering down at his weapon when he finished speaking, staring at his magnificent sword for a moment before returning his gaze to Angeal, whom caught his attention with a soft thud as he closed the gap between themselves. The scarlet SOLDIER took note that his friend had now drawn his own sword and was drawing near. Did it really have to come down to this so soon after meeting up? Genesis wasn't a bad guy, he was just doing what he felt was right, what he KNEW was right. Then an amazing sight befell the auburn-haired man. Two beautiful white angel wings had sprouted from his friends back, shedding a few feathers in the movement. One such feather had been caught within the light breeze and came to a rest just before Genesis' feet. Crouching down onto one knee, gloved fingers picked up the soft, white object before he returned to his feet, eying the feather closely.
"When the war of the beasts brings about the world's end, The goddess descends from the sky, Wings of light and dark spread afar, She guides us to bliss, her gift everlasting." Genesis spoke, before releasing his grip upon Angeal's white feather, allowing it to gracefully float down to to floor before being swept away on it's own journey as the light wind blew past once more. The scarlet SOLDIER then glanced at his friend and smiled, motioning towards his new features. "Though Hojo and Hollander turned us into monsters, your wings truly are a gift, as your name reveals. I on the other hand..." Genesis trailed off, his head glancing over his left shoulder as a single, large black angel wing sprouted out from his shoulder blade, his new adaption shedding a few feathers of it's own as the wing beat a couple of times before folding up neatly behind his back. "... am not quite as fortunate." Though what Angeal said next seemed to offend the scarlet SOLDIER slightly. His face quickly lost all emotion as his eyes narrowed a fraction, watching his friend closely, carefully. His wrath?! Were all the memories Angeal had of him, only the bad ones? And what was that about finding Hojo together and getting him to fix things? Hojo knew nothing of sparing lives, saving lives... doing anything half decent. He turned the two wing adorned men into what they were now and deemed them both failures, Genesis more so in particular because of his enhanced form of degradation. He was only thankful to Zack for aiding him in stopping that.
"Hojo won't do anything!!" Genesis said, close to shouting. "He cares not for life apart from his own! You know what he did to us both and you're willing to go see if he knows of a way to balance out the Light and Dark?! And this world isn't going to suffer my wrath... it's going to suffer YOUR wrath! You're one of the Light! You've come here to stop me..." Genesis said, his tone not really getting any quieter. Showing his back to his friend, Genesis paced away towards the Gizmo Shop, coming to a halt after several paces before turning around to view his friend once more. This is exactly what happened in the black and white world with the Mouse King... the Light was too ignorant to see the truth and now justice had to be served! This world was going to turn to the Darkness, along with several others until everything had been balanced out. Drawing his Rapier up into an offensive stance, Genesis glared at Angeal with fury burning in his eyes.
"Prepare yourself Angeal!!"

A look of disappointment crossed Angeal's face, as Genesis took a battle stance with Rapier in hand. Naturally, as if it were a habit before any conflict, Angeal readied himself by bringing up his blade so that the hilt was right before his forehead. "If I must." he merely uttered in response, just loud enough so that the stone caught it in a faint echo. The former First Class closed his eyes and said a quick vow under his breath, then he flexed his sword arm and brought the weapon down with a quick slash to his side. He lowered himself as he pivoted to the right, so that he stared down Genesis over his left shoulder pauldron. Bringing his weapon up to his left hand and readying the standard SOLDIER stance, he pointed the sword in the direction of his friend in the red coat.
Out of all the things Angeal could have looked forward to after getting off that ship, this was the least pleasant in his own opinion. A brief reunion with his childhood friend, only to find out he was aligned with the enemy to help restore a balance. Whoever this Goddess was, she was no friend of the Light to betray Genesis with these lies. He didn't understand how the Light could hurt anyone by simply holding control over a world. The Planet had been fine before Shinra, and it would be fine again once The Light saw an end to their evil. The only thing Angeal could think of as balance tipper was the Dark. The Darkness was more than it had been some fifteen years ago, and something or someone was releasing more into the Worlds, that was the only possible explanation. However out of all the styles he had faced, and observed, Genesis' was one that he would never need a quick refresh for, having known the crimson haired youth so long. As far as he knew, there was nothing new to expect from the former First Class, however he was still a lethal threat nonetheless and Angeal had to keep his guard up despite the relationship between the two.
There was a brief silence in everything. The feeling of this silence seemed to last forever as heartbeats would hasten, however it was only but two, maybe three, seconds at most. A gust of wind between the two warriors, however, would expire this last moment of peace before the battle.
Small, loose gravel ground against the stone of the courtyard as Angeal's left foot flexed and bent, then pushed the former Shinra Op forward into a full out run at Genesis. The raven haired man dropped the SOLDIER sword down to his right side as he made his four step dash forward, using his white wings to sort of glide over the spaces between. Angeal neared Genesis and met his blue mako stare with his own, accompanied with a fierce yell that would provoke others to lend a battle cry as well. He brought the longsword up in a diagonal fashion for his first draw, bringing the blade up and to the left, then brought it around for a horizontal slash to the right. In a fluid motion he brought the blade around by twisting it, to briefly parry one potential counter attack, then took a jump back away from Genesis. Angeal merely stared down his old friend for several seconds before making his next move, wondering just what was going through his head after hearing whatever this Goddess had told him.

"If I must?" Genesis repeated, his Rapier lowering itself only a fraction as his eyes widened only the tiniest bit as he looked upon his old friend and mild confusion. Angeal was a SOLDIER! He had every right to make any choice he wanted, and he merely opted to fight instead of trying to listen to reason? Was it only to Genesis himself, that it made sense to? Why couldn't the large Mouse and now his old friend? Why couldn't they realize the horror that would arrive in the future if the Light managed to take hold of every single world. It's as plan as day, like crystal clear text written across the pages of a large, old book. Light and Darkness cannot survive on their own! One needs the other! Day and Night, the Sun and Shadows... Everywhere you looked, this rule applied and it seemed the scarlet SOLDIER's fight was going to be a very long, tireless one, especially if he cannot get Angeal and maybe even Sephiroth on his side... Shaking his head slightly, Genesis got back into stance and bore his Rapier tightly.
"I am not your enemy Angeal, I'm your friend... but how can I call you that if you're not even going to listen to my warnings?! If you defeat me here today, you're aiding the Light in destroying everything we all know! Me, you, Sephiroth, all the worlds including our home... It will all disappear, like pieces swept off a chessboard so a new game can start anew!! Why can't you see reason?!!" Though he feared his words fell upon deaf ears. Bright blue eyes watched his raven-haired friend get into a battle stance, his footing, the way he held his sword... it all brought back memories of their time together in SOLDIER, especially when the two of them teamed up to test themselves against Sephiroth in the holographic training room. The auburn-haired youth knew he could have beaten Sephiroth if Angeal hadn't intervened. Still, there was no more time to be thinking about the past.
Then the inevitable started. Angeal was making the first move after the scarlet coated man hesitated to do so himself. Quickly he covered the distance between themselves, his wings appearing to help him out with that. Watching his old friend draw near, Genesis raised his crimson Rapier up and slashed the blade down hard to parry Angeal's first strike, before raising his arm up across his torso and throwing it out to his right, sparks flying as he blocked the second strike. With his bright blue eyes locked onto his former SOLDIER comrade, taking note that he jumped away to expect an attack, Genesis once more stood his ground and took this small chance to try and get his point across again. "Look..." Genesis held out his left hand, where within his palm a fiery glow emerged before a Flash appeared within his grip. Releasing his fingers from upon the small fireball, Genesis took a side step away and pointed his Rapier towards his shadow on the ground to his right hand side, his eyes remaining on Angeal though. "My spell is the Light and my shadow represents the Darkness. Both must be present for balance to be achieved. If the Light grows too strong..." The scarlet SOLDIER paused as he clenched his left hand into a tight fist, causing the Flash to burn brightly, up to the point of blinding before the small spell 'exploded' within itself, before vanishing completely. ".. Then everything will be lost!"
Genesis then raised his Rapier back up into a battle stance, turning his body away from Angeal so only the side of his torso was shown, reducing the amount of targets Angeal had to aim at, before narrowing his eyes and keeping his gaze locked onto his friend. The scarlet SOLDIER really was hesitating now, for he really didn't want this fight to happen. Yet if there was going to be no getting through, then there would be no choice but to knock some sense into his old comrade. Just like the Mouse King, Angeal had the chance to see reason, or suffer the consequences.

As Genesis stood there before him with a raised hand, Angeal watched in momentary silence while the man in crimson activated a spell. He listened to his friend's words as he watched the spell grow brighter, only to implode and have it's light go out with no trace of it left in Genesis' gloved palm. The words Angeal's old friend might have been true in the way he spoke them, however what if he was wrong? What if the Darkness only needed enough worlds to hold a solidified counter to the Light, and that losing control over a majority of them was only part of a bigger plan, one that he and Genesis had failed to overlook? Blue mako infused eyes continued to watch the gloved hand of the former SOLDIER as it made it's change in movement. Angeal couldn't help but wonder if the gesture was a metaphorical reference to their conflict here and now. Would the Light of Traverse Town go out like the Flash spell had just moments before? Leather creaked as Angeal tightened the grip on his weapon more, and brought himself back into the SOLDIER stance as Genesis took on his own.
As the two friends took both of their stances, an explosion rang out from one of the shops to Angeal's right at the top of the steps. The sudden fireball that erupted from the shattering glass caught the former Shinra Operative by surprise, and he lowered his blade but for a moment as he overlooked the new sight with concern. He wondered firstly what could have caused the explosion, but he was more worried about any people who might have been inside and caught in the blast. What Angeal didn't know was that there had been numerous Heartless spawning around the town since his run in with Genesis had begun, including a nice sized group of nine Soldiers, who had used the back entrances to gain access to the shop and it's hearted inhabitants. They gained the upper hand at first, taking the heart of the shop owner's second wife, however these Heartless did not account for the man's grudge for the loss of his first love to their kind. In a raged combination of gasoline, matches and a nearby heater with it's supply of propane tanks, the man created the fireball in an attempt to join his wife without the help of the Heartless. He hoped that he would take them with him, and much to his satisfaction in the mere seconds of his last moment, he did.
The result was the timely distraction that anyone or thing spying upon the two combatants with hungry eyes would need to possibly gain positive ground. That couldn't have been more true, as a well sized Stealth Sneak had been brooding in the Darkness above the bell in the bell tower. With crazed eyes it had descended from it's well secluded area of shelter to investigate the disturbance provoked by it's lesser brethren, only to lay those same crazed spheres upon two hearted individuals that bore lines of steel at each other. How fitting considering the world was coming to Darkness once more. It took upon a cloak of invisibility to further descend the tower to it's unsuspecting prey below.
Meanwhile, Angeal had grown even more concerned about the safety of the civilians. Soon there were more Soldiers, now joined by Shadows, roaming the walkway by the building that was now aflame, which worried the raven haired man as he set sights upon them. He turned a worried glance of blue back to his old friend, and realized that he was now faced with a bit of a dilemma. He could stop the Heartless and possibly save the lives of several, or he could ignore the creatures and fight Genesis, which would result in the saving of the world at the cost of those few lives. "So you're willing to sacrifice the lives of this town, to save everyone else from a possible world ending experience that hasn't happened yet, and you think the Light are the ones responsible for doing this?" he asked, pointing his sword's tip towards the burning shop and the nearby Heartless who had snatched another poor, defenseless woman to snatch the heart out of her chest.
"I really hope that whatever the Goddess has you believing is really consoling Genesis, because standing by while this happens isn't, and neither is fighting you for control of this world that we don't belong in!" he yelled over the sound of cries, burning structure and more sounds of Heartless spawning around the Second District. "Where is your honor, SOLDIER!?" demanded Angeal as he widened his footing, then returned his sword to it's place upon his back before he dashed up the stairs and into the burning shop to look for survivors. However after searching for several minutes, Angeal found nothing but the scorched remains of those who used to occupy the building. He had to vacate the structure before it collapsed on top of him, and only barely managed to avoid being crushed with a timely roll across the hardened stone. As he made to stand to look for Genesis, Angeal was confronted by a Shadow near his feet. He merely greeted the creature of Darkness with a look of disgust and anger, with an accompanying punt to the First District doors. Hopping over the stone wall and landing in a crouch, Angeal looked over to where Genesis had been to see about continuing this ultimatum. [LT:The Prodigy - Mindfields]

The explosion from within the shop off to his left, Angeal's right, also caught practically the whole of the scarlet SOLDIER's attention. Not standing as close to the blast as his old friend was though, his ears took less of a beating in the tinnitus department and only had ringing within his ears for just a couple of seconds. His coat blew out from behind him and his auburn hair got messed up with the passing shockwave, small pieces of debris landing nearby but nothing damaging him physically. What the heck had just happened? The Scarlet SOLDIER wasn't picking up any additional presences nearby except from Angeal's. Sure there were loads of subtle ones from the people in the First District, but it might merely have been that Genesis was paying so much attention towards his SOLDIER comrade, putting most of his efforts into trying to make him see reason, that he simply was too distracted from sensing any further presences around him.
Regardless, he stood his ground and watched as Zack's mentor raced for the ablaze building and scouted inside for any life signs. Yet while Genesis simply kept his position, his sharp gaze switched from the burning building onto the strange little creatures with jet black skin and weird yellow eyes. Nothing like this had been spotted on Gaia before and during his short experience within the new worlds here, he'd not come across these little creatures... so what exactly were they? Didn't the Goddess mention something about this? Though as the scarlet coated man peered back to where Angeal was once standing, his memory didn't come up with any answers. Only the words that she had spoke about the Light and the Darkness. It was then that he felt a shiver go up his spine, causing him to turn around and peer skywards, his eyes locking onto the roof and what parts of the bell tower he could see from his grounded position, yet try as heard as he might, not that he was putting in much effort, his bright blue eyes didn't find anything strange or suspicious. Yet that feeling of being watched didn't subside.
Angeal's words continued to repeat themselves through his mind for the next few minutes and upon the raven-haired warriors return, Genesis just locked eyes upon him, his position remaining the same as before the explosion. "I'd gladly let a few to die in order to save millions, Angeal. The only reason you cannot see this threat the Light brings, is simply because you've allied yourself with them. Back on Gaia, it was still all the same. The Light, you and Zack had to keep balance of the Darkness, and once you defeated me, Sephiroth simply took over the lead of Darkness to help maintain the balance. Before me, it was Shin-Ra. Hojo and Hollander. Everything happens for a reason. People live and die by Light and Darkness everyday." Genesis said rather calmly as he took a single step forwards and raised his Rapier up to point the long bladed weapon in his friend's direction, keeping his stance strong and his eyes locked onto his good friend. To be honest, the scarlet SOLDIER was in a mini dilemma. Should he ignore his friends words and continue to follow the Goddess, or turn his back upon the woman of the Light and join Angeal on his journey? But then wouldn't be he aiding the Light?
"If you don't want to fight me Angeal, go back the way you came and don't stop to look back at me. I must turn this world over to the Darkness and I will restore a balance. I am not proud to be allying myself with the Darkness, but if someone doesn't do something, then what's the point in fighting? I foresee the threat the Light brings and so long as I drew breath into this body, I will not stop." Genesis said, before pausing and allowing a moment of silence to pass as he listened to the roaring fire from the building nearby accompanied by the terrified screams and yells of the citizens scurrying about in other Districts. His destiny was set. The worlds needed a new Hero and until balance was restored, Genesis would fight with all his might. Even if he was aiding the Darkness in some unknown plot, the scarlet SOLDIER would then simply turn around and fight to destroy what he helped create. Light and Darkness? They were both his enemies.
Not another word left his lips, but instead, Genesis raised his left arm into the air as a new ball of flame magically erupted from his palm. This one sporting a dark blue/purple flame however, instead of using to try and convince Angeal on the Light's threat, he merely threw his hand down and almost punched the floor as he cast his Shadow Flare spell. Almost instantly upon impact with the ground, a large area of the ground beneath Angeal's feet matched the same colour as the flame within Genesis' hand before exploding upwards violently in a huge fiery flare. Whether striking Angeal or not, four more the same spell erupted out of the ground, following his position to wherever he moved to. As the last Shadow Flare burst out of the ground, Genesis stood back up fully and once more held his Rapier in his combat stance, eyes locked onto Angeal and waiting to see if a counter would be made. "I don't want to fight you Angeal, but if you're not going to let me take this world for the Darkness, then I shall simply remove you from it first!!"
