With a sigh, he wiped the sweat off his brow again. It was warmer then Wutai in the summer here. So warm that he actually had to take off his black suit jacket. That was hard to compare to. At first he assumed the desert was never ending. But thankfully he was coming up on a town. He didn't know what he might have done if he hadn't found it. Though, as usual anymore, it was obvious he didn't fit in. Though, the street was crowded enough that he went through with little to no glances in his direction.
After a few minutes of walking and with a calm expression, he found a spot under an awning to sit and cool off. It was just really hot here. He sat his suit jacket across his lap and shut his eyes to relax. But it was a little too noisy and unsafe to sleep so he forced his eyes open and looked at his phone.
The battery was almost dead so he had been turning the phone on as he needed it. Sadly, there were no messages from anyone. With a beep, it turned off and he leaned back against the stone wall. He didn't even know how he'd gotten here in the first place. But it must have been those damn black portals. He didn't have a clue what they were. All he knew was that there was a truce with Avalanche and that Sephiroth and the other villains were back. But, without the turks, there was little to nothing he could do.
A few days ago, he had even realized that the different worlds didn't take gil. The currency was munny for the most part. But a few worlds had other ways to pay for item. It was a good thing Tseng knew how to handle himself in a new place. He'd worked a bit and sold some things he'd found on his travels.
Everything was working out rather well for him, but he was worried about the other turks, Rufus, and how ShinRa was doing without anyone in charge back on Gaia. Oh well, he could dwell on it for too long.

Agrabah was always hot, no matter what part of the town or the entire world itself you visited. The town was hot, the desert was hot and most likely even inside the Cave of Wonders, would be hot or humid at least. To the people of this world though, everything seemed normal. The civilians even walked around in full length garments used mainly to protect them from the sand and winds. It was maddening to see it with your own eyes really. Yet there was a figure that stood out from the crowd slightly due to their clothing. And due to the fact that his voice was raising up above the rest of the civilians trying to go about their daily lives and business.
Over towards a stall along the main street, a vendor was selling odds and ends, salvage and general junk that he'd discovered and retrieved out in the desert. There were some unusual looking things that all seemed to be trash to the untrained eye. The merchant himself probably didn't know what items he had gathered and were merely trying to pawn them off to make some munny. A tall, blond haired man wearing a teal colour shirt, green pants and matching brown leather boots and gloves, stood at the stall eying some of the junk upon the neatly laid cloth across a wooden table.
"Yer want how much for that?! Are ya kiddin' me?!" The male's voice echoed across the area as he raised up both hands to adjust the old fashioned pilot goggles upon his forehead, before flicking his thumb across his nose and moving the toothpick within his mouth to the opposite side. The gentleman returned his hands to his hips and just grunted, watching the vendor with a dissatisfied look. "Forget it! You'll get 200 Munny for that and not a single piece more!" The raspy voiced male said once more as he pointed towards a small pile of rusted slag. It must have been something worth while and the subtle, slightly glowing multi-coloured block that could barely be seen must have been what caught the blond-haired man's eyes. It also seemed to have caught the vendors eye as he quickly shook his head and muttered the original price for it.
Maybe it was the heat getting to him, as the pilot could already feel a bead of sweat dripping down his cheek. Either that or he was getting too frustrated at this vendor. It was expected that really, since he most likely had a family to feed and needed the Munny. With a slump of his shoulders, the blond-haired man pulled out his wallet and glanced inside. It mainly had gil in, since the pilot had left most his Munny inside the safe on board the Shera, which itself was parked a fair distance out of Agrabah to remain hidden from prying eyes. The blond-haired man knew that he needed to be careful when it came to visiting other worlds... shame he didn't take as much care about his appearance as he did to hiding the Shera. "Alright alright, you win!!" He groaned before pulling out the asked for Munny and handing it over.
Quickly swiping the rusted lump of slag from the table, he turned and disappeared back into the crowds, looking around for a suitable place to stop and examine the item he had brought more closely. Well, the young man was a genius engineer and mechanic after all, not to mention being THE best Gummi Ship builder to grace the existence of Kingdom Hearts. Well... Gepetto did all the plans, the pilot himself just built them. It was when he passed by an alley that he caught sight of something across the street. Pausing and taking a few steps back, the blond-haired man raised an eyebrow as he thought he just saw someone in a suit. A suit, out in the middle of this place and in this heat? The pilot laughed as he shook his head, chalking it down to the heat messing with his head slightly. Yet when he glanced back in the suited man's direction, he indeed did see him. Sitting down, eyes closed in the shade along the opposite wall. Several people were passing down the main street but he could still see him sitting there though gaps in the crowd.

Tseng sat there for a while and the shade really made him feel a lot cooler. Not that he felt like getting up and wandering the city yet. It was probably a little past noon, so he was going to wait for the sun to drop a bit in the sky before looking for somewhere to rest safely for the night. He also needed to take the time when he hit another area to buy more bullets for his gun. He was starting to run lower then he wanted and that was a priority. Heh, the things you miss when you're not in a comfortable area. That false sense of security included.
That's when he heard someone arguing over price with a vendor. From the sound of it, the man really didn't know how to haggle. But, it didn't matter much to Tseng. It wasn't a hard concept though, you seem interested enough to purchase it, but not enough to pay a lot of money. But, it got quiet and he assumed the man either bought it or walked away. That's when he decided to open his eyes to see who it was.
Their clothes were also strange, but he instantly recognized him from the records. He was a little older, but it was Cid Highwind. He was one of the main people on the ShinRa space program with Palmer. Too bad they shut it down before it ever went anywhere. It was probably the fact the man in front of him has aborted the mission. Yes, he had a good reason to, but the President had been very angry that he practically wasted a few million gil on everything that went into the launch. Strangely, he never was given a second chance at it. But Tseng moved his attention back to resting again.
That's when he felt a pair of eyes watching him. He opened his brown eyes to note Cid had noticed him. The eye contact only stayed for a moment. Great, this was not the attention that he really wanted. But maybe if he stayed there and didn't make eye contact again it would be perfectly fine. He was in no mood to deal with the loud, foul-mouthed man. Perhaps Cid didn't even notice the eye contact. There were enough people on the street for it to have been a coincidence.
Tseng leaned back and shut his eyes again, imagining he was back in Edge where it was a lot colder and the Turks actually appreciated the uniform. But in a place like this, maybe they needed to be off dress code. Hm, he should think about that, or find a better mode of transportation between these "worlds" instead of the shadow's holes. Poor Tseng knew nothing about what was going on.

Cid narrowed his eyes as he almost squinted over towards the suited man's direction... well, the guy in the white shirt and black tie anyway. His jacket seemed to be laying across his lap in an attempt to cool off from the blistering heat of Agrabah. Or at least that was what Cid assumed. But it didn't change the fact that there was a Turk in the presence of an AVALANCHE member. Weren't they enemies to one another? The Turks kidnapped Aerith and tried to stop Cloud and his gang on their quest to find and defeat Sephiroth. Cid had to double check, just to make sure he wasn't day dreaming or anything. Quickly, he pocketed the rusted lump of metal into his pants before pulling off one of his leather gloves, using the bare, rough hand underneath to rubs his eyes a couple of times.
Finally glancing back into the white shirt mans direction, Cid could only growl slightly under his breath when his eyes ended up not to decieve him. There was indeed a Turk in Agrabah and it was Tseng none the less. This man was at the Space Project and had introduced the pilot to the President of Shin-Ra and his son, Rufus. Palmer was at the Project too, but thankfully that fat tub of lard wasn't to be seen here. But the facts didn't change the present. "Sh*t!! What's that guy doin' here?!" Cid said out loud, though the hustle and bustle of the passing crowds drowned most of his voice out. That didn't stop the Captain of the Shera from moving though, which was what he did next. Stepping out into the crowds, not pausing to wait for a good moment, Cid barged across the street up until he was standing before the Turk, whom had once more closed his eyes again.
Cid paused and narrowed his eyes, just watching Tseng for a moment as he cast his mind back to the days of Gaia and the Geostigma Crisis. He'd had no reports from Vincent or Cloud suggesting that Tseng was a temporary ally, so for all Cid know, this guy was the enemy! Yet if that were the case... then why was he just sitting here? Cid grunted as he folded his arms across his chest, not removing his eyes from the Turk. "Yer a long way from Gaia, Tseng. What happened? Did Rufus finally croak and yer on ya own now??" Cid said somewhat disrespectfully towards Rufus. He had good reason, since Rufus came to Rocket Town all those years ago, AFTER taking the Highwind from him, to request to take away the Tiny Bronco as well. Cid had hoped that Rufus was returning to Rocket Town to get the Space Project up and running again, but to no avail. Palmer and his fat-ass tried to take away the skies from Cid altogether and seeing how Cloud was opposing Shin-Ra at the time, felt like it was a good idea to do the same too.
"Actually, never mind him. How the @%&*$£# did ya get 'ere from Gaia?" Cid's tone wasn't getting anymore pleasent as he just stood his ground and looked down at the Turk. A thought crossed his mind, as Cid asked himself quickly why he was even bothering talking to this man. From what Cloud and Tifa said, this guy personally kidnapped Aerith from 7th Heaven in Midgar... That doesn't exactly make you a good guy now, does it? Plus Reno, whom was most like ordered bu Tseng, blew up the Sector 6 central pillar support, destroying the slums below and killing thousands of people, all in an attempt to crush AVALANCHE once and for all. Cid's fists started to shake but he just folded his arms more securely across his chest to stop it.

"Sh*t!! What's that guy doin' here?!" Tseng felt himself sigh at the man's voice. Dear Gaia, kill me now. Please? But the plea met deaf ears as he listened to Cid stomp his way over to his position. From the sound of the footsteps, he sound highly irritable and ready to pick a fight. Tseng really did not have the ammo or the energy to deal with this sort of fight, not in the slightest. All he did was listen to the foot steps till they stopped right in front of him. The turk didn't bother to open his eyes yet. "Yer a long way from Gaia, Tseng. What happened? Did Rufus finally croak and yer on ya own now??" A slight irritation grew on his face for a moment as he opened his eyes to meet Cid's. But, he was not going to listen to insults sitting down. So, in a rather simple motion, Tseng got to his feet. He fixed his tie a little bit so he didn't look too sloppy and draped his jacket over his left arm instead of his right. He needed his gun arm if something went wrong. "If Rufus passed, I'd be back in Wutai, not here. But yes, I am on my own at the moment, Mr. Highwind." He didn't feel comfortable calling the terrorist by his first name, so he improvised. However, Tseng decided to be a little bit more sarcastic. "However, Rufus is perfectly fine last I spoke to him. He's actually walking rather well now." Tseng kept his normal blank and calm expression even as the foul-mouthed sky-pirate continued. "Actually, never mind him. How the @%&*$£# did ya get 'ere from Gaia?" ".....I stumbled through some sort of black portal after Rufus went missing. How are you here?" Tseng kept his demeanor perfectly. Was there really any other way of traveling then through these black holes? If there was, that would be news to Tseng. Tseng really knew nothing about where the hole came from or what a heartless was, even though he had had run ins with the Shadows before. Tseng seemed surprised that Cid hadn't started anything yet, physically. Maybe Cid knew about the truce Vincent and Rufus agreed to? Yet, he admitted Cid's tone could have been a bit less aggressive. Thats when Tseng noticed that even the closeness of Cid was making him uneasy. When did he get so close? It was probably since the road was crowded and he'd been pushed closer and closer. But the feeling didn't show and the turk wasn't about to back off, not that he could anyway. If he moved, that would be a weakness and Tseng needed to keep the discussion from becoming an argument or fight. But yes, Cid was right, Tseng was a Turk and he had done plenty wrong to Avalanche. But the turks were aware that Avalanche was a terrorist group attacking ShinRa. Avalanche had blown up plenty of reactors and killed enough themselves, without ShinRa's help. But yes, Tseng had given Reno the order to blow the Sector Six support beam personally after capturing Aeris on President ShinRa's command. Rufus's father was, and always would be, a complete bastard and Tseng was glad Rufus wasn't like him. If Rufus had been as cruel, the turks would have abandoned him like the rest of ShinRa after Meteorfall. But they hadn't. The Turks had taken care of Rufus and looked after him. Rufus was like family now.Really, Tseng was not this horrible man that everyone made him out to be. Neither was Rufus or the rest of the Turks. The Head of the Turks had helped the world on many occasions as well. He was not just this horrible assassinate. He had taken out people of utter importance in destroying the world. He'd personally stopped a few attacks on the understructure of the slums. He'd helped in Aeris's escape from ShinRa and given Cloud the key to get the Black Materia in the Temple of the Ancients after Sephiroth had almost killed Tseng. Tseng had risked his life to help with the evacuation of Midgar even though he was still injured at the time. There was also the fact he had helped keep Jenova out of Kadaj's hands till Cloud came to his senses and helped them. This action actually got Elena and himself beaten to death by Kadaj before Vincent had rescued them. But none of these things seemed to be noticed. Thus was the life of a Turk. After a moment of silence, Tseng finally decided to ask Cid a question. "...Do you know where we are? I haven't found out just yet..." Tseng did not keep eye contact as he asked his question. Instead, he was scanning the marketplace for anyone that might have been with Cid. But it looked like the Space Captain was alone. Tseng sort of felt bad for Cid since the man was without his airship or planes. Pathetically, Tseng didn't know was that Cid was making "Gummi Ships". Boy, was Tseng going to make a face when Cid told him how he arrived on the world. Actually, Cid had a lot to tell the Turk if he wanted to. Everything about the different worlds and the heartless threat. Even the basics like a "Keyblade" and the like. It was something Tseng needed to know. For a moment, Tseng was trying to remember the first time he met Cid in person. Ahead of time, he had heard that Cid was an excellent mechanic and could fly anything he could get his hands on. However, Palmer never talked as kindly. That man was as bad as Heidegger, ShinRa, and Scarlet. Reeve was the only executive Tseng would talk to and do favors for even though Heidegger was in charge of the Turks after Verdot's "death". But anyway, Tseng had been the one to introduce Rufus to Cid in the first place. Though, Rufus had been an ignorant brat about it since his father had sent him in his place. Rufus never was able to do much on his own, especially after turning on his father. But that had nothing to do with Cid or the current situation. There was no need to dwell on the past.

Silence passed between the pair of them for a short while, as Cid felt himself being nudged closer and closer to the Turk as people passed behind him. Eventually the frustration about discovering a Turk in a place like this, was quickly shifted away from the smartly dressed man and over towards the crowds behind him. Yet the pilot knew better then to just randomly start shouting and swearing at people who were just trying to get on with their lives, so he merely just side stepped to Tseng's right before turning around 180 degrees so they were standing side by side. The AVALANCHE member chewed hard on the end of his toothpick to redirect his quickly building temper else where. They both stood out enough as it was, and bursting into a fight or randomly screaming at innocents, wasn't going to help them blend in any easier.
Cid finally seemed to have regained some of his conscience and glanced back in Tseng's direction, leaning forwards as he did so to make sure he at least was attemping to make eye contact. The pilot continued to glare though since he wasn't about to shake hands and become best friends with the one man who ordered Reno and Rude to attack them several times in the past. "Wutai? Why would yer be wantin' to go there? Ain't yer place in Midgar?" Cid asked, his brow tightened slightly, half from his hatred towards the Turks and half because of the dust and sand that was in the breeze. He was tempted to pull his goggles down over his eyes to protect them, but the dust and sand only seemed to have been caused from the civilians walking past.
The pilot cocked an eyebrow and then smirked as listened to what the Turk said next, mentioning Rufus was well and walking around once more. He folded his arms across his chest and looked ahead of him, watching the people walk past for a couple of seconds before letting out a small snort-like laugh. "Unexpected. Though I assume it was the Geostigma that reduced him to that state eh? Pah, he deserved it, after all he had done. He's as bad as his Father." Cid's dislike for Shin-Ra was once more evident within his tone. It was going to take a LOT of effort for him to forget the actions that happened in Rocket Town all those years ago. He was betrayed... stripped of his dreams and ambitions thanks to the greediness of one man and his son. Dwelling on the past was a waste of time, but when your dreams of being the first man to head into outer space are just taken away from you like that... well, it's not such an easy thing to let go. Cid just grumbled slightly as he remembered it was mainly his fault in the first place by shutting down the engines to save Shera's life. If he hadn't, Cid would have murdered his present wife and then died himself after the oxygen tank blew up while in orbit.
The Captain of the Shera started to think about the past now, mainly about Shera but he quickly brought himself back to the present when he remembered he was standing next to a Turk. Cid glanced back in Tseng's direction once more and looked somewhat smug from what he heard. "Rufus has gone missin'?! Ah-haha! An' you call yourself a Turk?!" Cid said, not caring in the slightest if he were digging himself into a deeper hole or not. The pilot knew that the Turk wouldn't draw his weapon in such a crowed place. Maybe... Yet when the 'black portal' were mentioned, that caught the sky-pirates attention. Cid turned on the spot to face the black-haired man fully before scratching at his stubble covered chin with his finger. "Black portals? Those must be the Dark Portals. They lead you into the Corridors of Darkness that those who have the power to summon them, use to travel from world to world. Random ones show up from time to time, but unless your desperate, it's best to avoid them." Cid explained, having done research and hearing about such things from Riku and Merlin in the past. He nodded his head before returning both his arms to their folded position across his teal covered chest. "As for me, I traveled to this world on The Shera, and NO!! You're not gettin' YOUR *@~$%*# GODDAMN HANDS ON HER LIKE YOU DID THE HIGHWIND!!!!" Cid bellowed loudly, bringing a fist out from his arms and pointing an 'ain't-takin'-your-sh*t' finger violently in Tseng's face.
Cid just stood there, glaring at the Turk as he continued to point at the smartly dressed man's face, before glancing over his shoulder towards a small cluster of the people passing by who stopped to watch him yell. Rubbing the back of his head slightly and adjusting the goggles on his forehead, Cid bent his knees to pick up the half-chewed toothpick from the floor that he had spat out while shouting, returning it back between his teeth once collected. He really needed a cigarette now, but Shera always seemed to know when he had smoked one. Instinctively, Cid's hand did reach up towards the strap of his goggles where the cigarette packed used to be, only to find nothing there and mumble dejectedly to himself afterwards.
However the next thing to reach Cid's ears caused him to perk up slightly and return his bright blue eyes in the Turk's direction. "Huh? Ya dunno where you are? I thought you Turks knew everythin'? Well, we're in Agrabah, a place where Jafar used to be before gettin' his ass handed to him by Sora... two times, actually. It's ALWAYS hot here, but yer might find some useful parts out in the desert. S'what I managed to get from that stall over there anyway..." Cid said, getting slightly more excited in his tone when he got closer to the end of his final sentence. Pulling the rusted lump of slag out of his pocket, the pilot rubbed his leather gloved hand across the surface to try and reveal the multi-coloured Gummi Block burried within. Pointing his finger to it directly incase Tseng couldn't see, Cid smirked before tossing the lump of slag up and down in his hand a couple of times. "I think that's some type of Warp Gummi, a useful tool for travelin' from world to world, s'long as you have a Gummi Ship."

The silence didn't really bother the Turk, it was almost a comforting thing. However, the background chatter from the street was annoying beyond all belief. It was just as bad as Edge was. Thankfully, Cid also noted the fact he was being bump closer and closer to Tseng and corrected the problem. With little effort, Tseng turned to face Cid. "Wutai? Why would yer be wantin' to go there? Ain't yer place in Midgar?" Gosh, this man was more then dense. But, Tseng thought it would be alright to humor Cid at this moment. So, he told him. "Yes, I have a place in Edge, but Wutai is my hometown. I do have a family there." However, Tseng did not mention anything else regarding it. Like, how his family had practically disowned him when he left Wutai to join the company that destroyed them and their culture. But without the suit, he'd be able to blend in. At times, he missed his home town, but it wasn't something worth worrying about. What was worth worrying about was the sand the people were kicking up. It was slightly annoying, but it was better for the two to talk in public rather then a less populated area. Something might go wrong and Tseng really didn't want to fight, now for the heat then anything else. It was too hot to fight. Hopefully Cid would agree with this. But, his will to fight was peeked with Cid's following statement. "Unexpected. Though I assume it was the Geostigma that reduced him to that state eh? Pah, he deserved it, after all he had done. He's as bad as his Father." Tseng felt his eyes narrow on the pilot with that statement. "No, he is not as bad as his father. Say what you will, but it's not true." Rufus had a change of heart. But Tseng felt himself shut up again. Rufus had sworn him to secrecy about his funding the WRO. It was Rufus's own personal way of paying his debt to the planet without anyone viewing him differently. Why did the President want all the negative views? He didn't deserve it anymore. That was the past and this is the present. As for Rufus's condition, Tseng said nothing about how it had reduced him to a wheelchair. It was a horrible period of time for the Turks to go through with Rufus. But, they had made it through with no deaths and that was enough for Tseng. Though, Cid had a grudge and it would take a lot to fix. But Tseng didn't really care Cid's stupid Space Program. It was not an important part of ShinRa. It probably never would be. Yes, if they found something in space it might have been worth the gil. But they probably wouldn't know in his lifetime. "Rufus has gone missin'?! Ah-haha! An' you call yourself a Turk?!" Yes, this hit a nerve. Yet, Tseng didn't look bothered. Things happened and it was not his fault he lost Rufus. Rufus just disappeared along with the rest of the turks. Now, Tseng was looking for them. But his PHS didn't work on all the planets and he was still low on battery. He was still a damn good turk and would always be loyal to ShinRa. But that sort of talk was gone when Cid hit an interest in Tseng. "Black portals? Those must be the Dark Portals. They lead you into the Corridors of Darkness that those who have the power to summon them, use to travel from world to world. Random ones show up from time to time, but unless your desperate, it's best to avoid them." Tseng made a slightly confused face. Avoid the portals that was keeping him looking for Rufus? No, that was not going to happen. He needed a way of finding his comrades and he refused to stay trapped on this sun-beaten planet. It was too warm already. Maybe it was the heat getting to him, but he was going to avoid Cid's warning. "Thank you for the warning...""As for me, I traveled to this world on The Shera, and NO!! You're not gettin' YOUR *@~$%*# GODDAMN HANDS ON HER LIKE YOU DID THE HIGHWIND!!!!" The sudden tone made Tseng stand a bit straighter and shift to a more defensive position. The finger wasn't threatening, but he wasn't sure if Cid was enough of a threat to worry about yet. No matter the tone, Tseng shook his head, a little confused as to how he got his new ship to this world. "You took the Highwind back yet you are still complaining about it. ShinRa financed the project. All you did was build it. But how did you get the Shera here...?" Tseng was completely baffled. "Anyway, I'm not here to take anything. Mr. Highwind."However, he was amused by the crowd that had stopped to watch his outburst. It was also funny to see Cid reach around as if to light one of his cigarettes. Surprisingly, he didn't. Cid had quite smoking? This was a surprise in itself. Instead of looking for something to smoke, he retrieved his toothpick from the ground and continued to chew it. This calmed him down a little. "Huh? Ya dunno where you are? I thought you Turks knew everythin'? Well, we're in Agrabah, a place where Jafar used to be before gettin' his ass handed to him by Sora... two times, actually. It's ALWAYS hot here, but yer might find some useful parts out in the desert. S'what I managed to get from that stall over there anyway..." "Agrabah..." Tseng nodded, but noticed Cid's excitement. So, he didn't start asking questions about who "Sora" or "Jafar" were. He didn't know everything, he normally was updated on situations and briefed ahead of time. But that was not going to happen. That's when Cid mentioned the item on his hand. It didn't look like much to Tseng. Just a rust up piece of trash that me probably would have thrown out. Tseng was suddenly amused again. "You need more practice haggling. I happened to overhear you.""I think that's some type of Warp Gummi, a useful tool for travelin' from world to world, s'long as you have a Gummi Ship." Any thoughts Tseng might have had were gone. Confusion actually showing on his face. "A Gummy Ship?" The word was foreign and he almost thought Cid was going crazy now. A warp gummi to help a Gummy ship to travel from world to world? He had never heard of such a thing. Tseng needed to have this explained to him. "I see..." He lied, glancing away. He'd need to inquire about them later without looking like a complete idiot for not knowing. [1240 words. Omg. It took me forever to write that. *makes a face*]

The blond haired pilot eyed the Turk for a moment, still tossing the lump of rust up and down in his hand a few times before finally stopping and tucking it back into the pocket in his green pants. He felt like Tseng was still baffled by a lot of things that may have only recently happened to him in the past. Perhaps it hadn't have been long since the Turk was last on Gaia in search of Rufus, before being whisked away to the worlds of Kingdom Hearts like everyone else. That was the Heartless' fault, plus the wars going on between the worlds right now, probably wasn't helping the situation at all. Cid pondered as he brought his gloved hand up to his mouth and removed the toothpick from between his lips using his index and middle fingers. "What do ya last remember when leaving Gaia? Was there a Dark Portal there too, or did everything just go black, like y'were in a dream or somethin'? When did you first arrive in this, strange new worlds?" Cid asked strangely, taking their little conversation down a completely new path.
It was most likely the heat, but Cid was certain that the Shin-Ra company had claimed AVALANCHE to be a terrorist group, thus was why Rufus had sent the Turks after them several times. So why wasn't Tseng attacking? The pair of them were just having a discussion and neither side had made a move yet. Narrowing one of his eyes slightly as he continued to watch the black-haired man beside him, Cid pondered if Tifa had ever mentioned anything about Rufus or the Turks while he were back in Radiant Garden. The Heartless and the users of Darkness were obviously a much greater threat then the squabbles between Shin-Ra and AVALANCHE. Actually thinking about being in a temporary alliance with Shin-Ra felt like it wanted to make Cid's blood boil.
The pilot shook his head as he turned away from the Turk for a moment, taking the chance to glance off down the street in either direction to see if he could kiss where he was in Argabah. Cid glanced over his shoulder when he heard the Turk ask how he managed to get the Shera here. "Firstly..." Cid started. "The Highwind was mine. Why d'ya think I named her after myself? She was my pride and joy until you and Rufus got yer grubby hands on it. I'm glad I took her back from you, couldn't have my baby flying you Shin-Ra goons everywhere and reachin' Sephiroth before Cloud did." The blond haired man said with narrowed eyes, popping the toothpick back between his lips and maneuvering it to the opposite side of his mouth. "And secondly, I made some modifications to the Shera's engines and managed to fit her with a Warp Gummi, like the one I showed you a moment ago." The Captain continued, patting his pocket where the rusty lump of rubbish was.
"It allows me to fly her across the 'paths' that connect the worlds together during a time of crisis, such as now. I just flick a switch and the Shera leaves this world and enters the space above. Y'then just fly to whatever world you need to go to, simple." Cid explained, waving his hands around as he spoke, trying to use them as examples for the things he were talking about. Eventually though he just folded his arms back across his chest and then continued to resume watching the Turk carefully. He still didn't trust this guy in the slightest and would defend himself if necessary. The chances of an attack coming from him though felt slim, yet that wasn't to say the pilot were going to lower his guard.

That was completely true. Tseng had just recently began to wander the worlds. He had ended up in the End of the World, floating on a few rocks till another rift opened. Then, he had a run-in with Rufus in Spira along with Tifa and Vincent. However, that's when he learned that Kadaj was back. Most likely Sephiroth and all the other villains from Gaia. This is the world he was dropped into after being separated from Rufus and the others. No one had explained anything to him about what was going on. He had learned about the truce from the President and that was all. Hm, he still didn't know if Rufus mentioned how he had started ShinRa once more on Gaia. That would not go over well with Avalanche. So, he would not be mentioning it. "What do ya last remember when leaving Gaia? Was there a Dark Portal there too, or did everything just go black, like y'were in a dream or somethin'? When did you first arrive in this, strange new worlds?" Tseng wasn't sure if he wanted to answer. But he decided to anyway. "... I remember there was these shadows with yellow eyes. But, they weren't the normal monsters that wander Gaia. I simply remember fighting and waking in the middle of nowhere. I've been trying to figure things out since. But no one seems to know what's going on either and keep informing me I'm not from around their world. This is the third or fourth area I have been to. I appeared in the middle of the desert and wandered here." With that he removed eye-contact. Tseng was not comfortable with this situation. He hated to admit he didn't know what was going on. Especially when he had no control over his environment. Cid then rattled off about how the Highwind was his ship, ranted off about how they were trying to get Sephiroth. He mentioned how he used this "Gummi" to make the ship travel and began to explain how traveling works. Tseng sighed, "You should have realized that ShinRa was paying you to build the Highwind for the company, not yourself. But it's the past and it can't be changed. Everyone makes mistakes. But ShinRa was trying to stop Sephiroth as well. It's still a goal to destroy him before he ruins anything else." This was the start of it all. He put himself on the same side as Cid without being aware of it. "As for the ships, it's hard to comprehend that it can "warp" at all. But since you are here currently, I suppose I will take your word on it." A ship that could teleport places? A Gummi Block? Was it anything like materia? There was a lot of information to take in. But, being a Turk, he'd manage.

Cid's arms fell from his chest and landed on his waist instead as he turned around once more when he noticed Tseng decided to break eye contact with him. The pilot was ready to get up and leave the suited man to bake in the sun of Argabah, but there was something nagging at the back of his mind that he'd regret doing that. Either by ending up in a fight, or having Vincent or Tifa moaning at him for some reason. He wasn't able to put his finger on it, so instead he put his finger on his chin and scratched at his stubble once more. The breeze picked up through a gap between the civilians and thankfully, it didn't carry any sand with it. Yet it was a cool and refreshing breeze unlike the normal humid and sticky air that was much more constantly found in Argabah. Quickly the Captain of the Shera raised both arms out to either side of him so the cool air could get all around and cool him off a little.
With a more satisfied sigh now, the pilot turned back to face Tseng and just smirked at him after hearing his next sentence. "Ahh, lucky you. I didn't get to see the Heartless on Gaia, but if I had known about them back then.... sh*t, i'd have fought them back so hard!" Cid said, as he turned to face the wall nearest where the Turk was sitting a moment ago. Kneeling down, the pilot poked his finger into the warm sand that was still slowly cooking in the sun and drew the image that Tseng just described. Well, he drew a Shadow Heartless to be exact and once done, he stood back up and pointed at the doodle on the floor. "Did it look somethin' like that? That's a Shadow Heartless, they're nasty little @*$&%#@> who can sink into the ground to cause sneak attacks. They typically only attack people with strong hearts..." Cid paused and took him a moment to turn back to glance at Tseng with a raised eyebrow, watching him curiously. Cid asked himself a question within his mind before actually speaking out loud, to which the pilot just shook his head, wondering why on earth he was telling the enemy this. Well, he wasn't the most serious threat in regards to the enemy. It would seem already that the Turk had ran into someone he didn't want to on one of these other 4 worlds he had visited.
"Hmph... So y'know about Sephiroth and his little friends comin' back from the dead huh? Well yer not wrong, although I ain't seen any of them with me own eyes yet. Cloud says he's battled Sephiroth twice now, after the fight they had during the Geostigma Crisis on Gaia." Cid said with a disappointed tone, turning back to face the doodle of the Shadow and kicking his foot through the sand to make the image vanish altogether. There were even somethings that Cid himself couldn't explain... such as how and why the Darkness users were returning to the worlds. The Captain glanced back at Tseng but said nothing, since Cid knew he was even more clueless then he was. The Turk was just too proud to admit it. Thinking about Sephiroth and the Remnant's as well as the possible threat of Deepground returning, Cid started to feel a little helpless himself all of a sudden.

Cid turned away and Tseng assumed that the conversation was over. That's when there was the most heavenly breeze. Tseng felt his eyes close as it passed. Wow, that was wonderful. The Turk opened his eyes again to see Cid was also enjoying this breeze. However, it was gone as fast as it came. Thankfully, Cid hadn't decided to leave the Turk standing there in the middle of Agrabah. Maybe someone had told him about the truce already. "Ahh, lucky you. I didn't get to see the Heartless on Gaia, but if I had known about them back then.... sh*t, i'd have fought them back so hard!" "Heart...less?" That was a strange name. Is that what they called the shadows? That's when he drew the shadow on the ground. Not very well, but it was enough for an idea. "Did it look somethin' like that? That's a Shadow Heartless, they're nasty little @*$&%#@> who can sink into the ground to cause sneak attacks. They typically only attack people with strong hearts..." "Yes, that's it. So they're called Heartless? And they attack people with "strong hearts"?" It seemed a little weird. But then again, with his life anymore, nothing made sense. Really, traveling to other worlds? He thought that they were the only ones in their universe. Obviously, he was wrong with that. "Hmph... So y'know about Sephiroth and his little friends comin' back from the dead huh? Well yer not wrong, although I ain't seen any of them with me own eyes yet. Cloud says he's battled Sephiroth twice now, after the fight they had during the Geostigma Crisis on Gaia." "I can tell you for certain that they are back. I've had a run in with Kadaj along with Vincent and Ms. Lockhart back on Spira. The remnant was more then alive." Tseng did know a little bit, but not anything about this world or any other in the universe. He knew most of what happened on Gaia, but nothing here. But Cid was right about admitting he knew nothing. Tseng would never admit anything, then again, why would you admit when you don't know things? Tseng had a feeling that Cid was not going to stay around much longer. It was a lot warmer then it had been and Tseng was not going to overstep the truce too much. He had learned more then enough already...

Cid glanced at Tseng and pulled a face that could only really be described as: What the heck?. The pilot blinked and ran a hand through his messy blond hair before scratching at his chin a few times. Not moving his eyes from the Turk, Cid actually questioned the Turk's motives. Had he actually really just came to these worlds and knew nothing about what was going on? Cloud, Cid, Tifa, Vincent, Yuffie and Aerith all came to Kingdom Hearts at the same time. What happened on Gaia back then which caused Tseng and his Turk friends not to join them? Actually, Cid didn't care. Life without Shin-Ra was good and having met up with them again, was just a miserable, gut wrenching experience. Shin-Ra tried to kill the planet by drawing out the Mako from within, and the Turks were hired as the President's bodyguards and lapdogs.
Cid just sighed before glancing at the smudged out Heartless drawing, whilst rubbing the back of his head in thought. Eventually, the scruffy pilot returned his eyes to the suited man and just grumbled slightly. "The Heartless are spawns of darkness that attack people with strong hearts, yes. But they'll also attack civilians and others with or without strong hearts, merely to GET the hearts. It's complicated. It's just easier to kill them if you see one." The Captain said with a shrug of his shoulders. He paused as he watched the Turk for a moment, wondering what he'd do about the Heartless situation. Nothing probably, since he'd be more concerned with finding Rufus it would seem. What was so special about him anyway? He tried to kill the planet, which reacted by sending Diamond WEAPON after him. Cid narrowed his bright blue eyes for a second before turning to face the Turk completely. "What happened to Rufus after the Diamond WEAPON attack anyway? We all thought he'd been killed until Cloud mentioned the meeting he had with him at the Healing Lodge in Edge." Cid folded his arms across his chest as he spoke, but not before he quickly checked his pant pocket to make sure the rusted slag holding the Gummi Block was still there. It was, so the pilot nodded slightly to himself before returning his eyes to Tseng.
"Yeah I know about Vincent and the others. Met up with Cloud and Tifa after fixin' up some automatic protecting around Radiant Garden. Had a nice cup of tea with them numbskulls as they filled me in on past events." Cid explained as he turned and peered at the stone bench-like wall which the Turk was recently sitting on. Stepping over towards it, the sky-pirate sat down and leaned back still his face and chest were in the shade of the building behind them both. He raised his arms from his chest and placed them both behind his head as he closed his eyes and started to chew on the toothpick some more. "Seems like out situation is just going from bad to worse. With Kadaj being back, it's only logical that Loz and Yazoo are back as well... and worse, Sephiroth too." Cid said, somewhat calmly as he remained in his relaxed position, keeps his eyes closed throughout. He shook his head and tutted a couple of times to himself before leaning forwards and resting both his arms upon his knees. "Sh*t... Does that mean Cloud's gettin' soft if he can't beat Sephiroth anymore? I wonder what's goin' on...?"

Tseng watched Cid's expression change. At first, Tseng wasn't sure what he'd said that caused Cid to make that face. But, he soon realized Cid was thinking about something. He ruffled the sand out of his hair and scratched his chin. But, not looking away from the Turk. Tseng did not move his eyes from Cid. Great, it was almost like he was being examined. That every movement would tell Cid what he wanted to know. However, Tseng could figure out what Cid was trying to figure out for himself. But he had a feeling he had just been insulted. He was no lap-dog for ShinRa. It felt like an eternity passed before Cid looked away and back to his failed heartless sketch. This caused Tseng to relax a bit, nothing that would have been obvious to Cid. However, if Reno was here he'd of noticed the tension leave and possibly would have commented on it. Oh, how he missed that red-head. At least Rude was probably with him. Those two were always merged at the hip. But they strangely worked so well together. It was possible that Elena was with them too. He'd hate for her to be out in the middle of nowhere by herself. He still worried about her even if she wasn't a rookie anymore. Cid's grumbling brought him back to reality, thankfully. "The Heartless are spawns of darkness that attack people with strong hearts, yes. But they'll also attack civilians and others with or without strong hearts, merely to GET the hearts. It's complicated. It's just easier to kill them if you see one." "That's good to know." Tseng nodded lightly, not being the slightest bit sarcastic. It was truly good to know that he should simply kill the creatures. That is, it he could land a bullet on the being. But at least Tseng was right, he was worried about Rufus. The president had already been attacked by Kadaj. So he might actually be alone and in some serious danger. That was one of his priorities. The Turks being second on that list, and worrying about himself came last. That's when he noticed Cid watching him again, this was getting slightly annoying now. "What happened to Rufus after the Diamond WEAPON attack anyway? We all thought he'd been killed until Cloud mentioned the meeting he had with him at the Healing Lodge in Edge." Tseng actually had felt his expression change. It was rare to catch the turk off guard like that. But he was obviously confused about something. "Why do you ask?" The turk didn't feel it was really an important detail, also very random change of topics from these heartless to Rufus. Oh, Rufus was not heartless and Cid coming to Rufus that way was not amusing in the SLIGHTEST! Tseng had to close his eyes for a second before coming to a stupid conclusion. But, he stopped himself and sighed before opening his eyes and explaining. "...Most people thought that he had died on contact with the assault. However, Reno and Rude decided to go against my wishes and enter the building. They found Rufus just out of the debris zone from his office. We're not entirely sure how he got out since the president avoids the topic. So, you'd need to ask him. I have my thoughts on how he escaped, but they might not be factual." Tseng still had his theory that the president had casted barrier or protect and the force knocked him out the door and down the steps. But he remember the next few weeks after it all just as clearly as yesterday. Rufus had been in a coma for a week and a half from the intensity of the blast and had seriously injured his spine which had originally put him into the wheelchair. Though, just as he had been recovering, he'd been infected with the stigma from his contact with the lifestream. IT kept him in the wheelchair most of the time. Though, he was able to walk on occasion if he felt like he could. Most of the time he decided to stay seated and stare idly out the window. Poor Elena was so upset by his depression afterward. Though, Tseng was glad it happened. Rufus had realized mistakes and quickly changed it. Sadly the President kept it too quiet, not wanting the recognition for it. "Yeah I know about Vincent and the others. Met up with Cloud and Tifa after fixin' up some automatic protecting around Radiant Garden. Had a nice cup of tea with them numbskulls as they filled me in on past events." Tseng nodded, instantly assuming that Radiant Garden was another world or town. He also assumed this talk with Vincent and Tifa had been about the truce. Good, that is why Cid was being a lot more polite then the turk expected. Then again, Tseng had never directly harmed Cid nor Avalanche. Always indirectly and under Shin-Ra's orders. Cid shifted onto the stone wall that Tseng had been sitting on moments before. It seemed that the Captain was tired of standing and decided to sit. So, Tseng shifted his position slightly so he wasn't as far away when Cid decided to start rambling off again. It was a good decision to move too. Cid then shut his eyes and began to ramble off. Obviously the turk had not been labeled a threat and Cid was a bit more comfortable around him. But, Tseng remained silent, not knowing if he was being asked or if the sky-pirate was asking himself these questions. Tseng doubted it was Cloud not being strong enough. The turk just believed that Sephiroth was cunning enough to find his way back to the living.

Cid turned his head in Tseng's direction as he leaned forwards on his knees slightly more, watching the smartly-dressed man from his lowered position as he began to explain what happened to Rufus during the Diamond WEAPON attack. Yet about 3 words into the Turk's explanation, Cid zoned out and mentally asked himself why on earth he was even interested in what happened to that tyrant. When he came too though, Tseng had finished and was looking his way. "Oh right... Ok. Well it's a shame really. The world would be a better place without him, and maybe then you and your Turk friends could have gotten your lives back." Cid stood up and turned to confront the Turk, staring him in the eye. "But I have to admire your patience for wantin' ter follow orders off some tyrant like that all yer life. I'd have left him to rot if I were you." Cid's attitude had clearly gone downhill, tripped and was tumbling down a jagged rock-covered slope to a bloody and messy death. It was here that the scruffy looking pilot returned his finger to the Turk's face, glaring at him.
"Anyway, that's all the free-be's your gettin'. I only just remembered who the hell you are and realized after that, that I have more important things ter be gettin' on with." The Captain then shoved Tseng roughly in his shoulder, trying to force him away. The look within Cid's eye clearly told that he was about to snap and attack if there wasn't so many people about. The Turks worked for Rufus, and Rufus was the head of Shin-Ra. Shin-Ra was the enemy! Plus it was hard to let go of the past... the Space Project returning to his memory, as well as Rufus taking away the Highwind and the Tiny Bronco. Cid's finger-pointing hand clenched tightly into a fist as he tried to control his sudden increase in anger. Cid hated Rufus. He hated Shin-Ra and all the lackeys that tagged along, Turks included.
Sending another hate filled glare Tseng's way, the pilot threw his hand down to his side as he turned tail and walked into the passing crowds, disappearing from view completely. His mumbling and complaining was still heard though until he had eventually traveled far enough down the street to reach a corner and vanish altogether. Stuffing his hands into his pockets as he walked, Cid's mind was full of all the bad things Shin-Ra and the Turks got up too and it was just making him worse and worse by the second. Fortunately, Cid had build a coffee machine into the Shera and was heading back towards the main entrance of Agrabah so the dragoon could venture out into the desert and board the Shera for a nice relaxing cup of tea. Perhaps then he'd return to Agrabah and search for more Gummi Blocks or salvageable materials or items.

Cid had seemed a little emotionless from Tseng's explanation of what had happened to Rufus. However, Cid's reply to it made Tseng want to end the discussion with a simple shot to the man's head. But Tseng couldn't jeopardize this truce. Though, the anger showed slightly in his brown eyes. "If you were going to make a comment like that, then why even ask in the first place." Tseng growled in response. That's when the Turk felt the ice break. This was it and the two were either going to walk off or kill each other. "But I have to admire your patience for wantin' ter follow orders off some tyrant like that all yer life. I'd have left him to rot if I were you." Tseng stood a bit taller. "You don't understand anything. The only tyrant was Rufus's father. We might have left if we hadn't seen the glint of hope in him that you all seem to ignore. He's not as heartless as you terrorists view him." Yes, Tseng had lost some of the Turk demeanor he was supposed to hold so dearly. Verdot would have been disappointed, but proud he calmed down. The truce with Tseng and Cid was over. Cid made his final insult before standing, shoving Tseng, and leaving. It took every ounce of his being not to swing at the pilot. As soon as Cid was out of view, Tseng tried his best to calm down. With the heat forgotten, he shifted off to walk for a bit. Rufus was not the man Cid was describing. That was not what he was following. Tseng and the Turks were following the good they saw in the white suited man. He had the potential to turn himself around. Tseng believed Rufus had proved this so many times before. A few bad decisions shouldn't mark you as a cruel person. The only thing that corrupted ShinRa was that bastard of a father. President ShinRa was the heartless and corrupt being that shunned Rufus and exploited everything he could. Tseng had done things he never wanted. Did that make him just as bad? No. The sin's of the father are not the sin's of the son. Tseng managed to buy an apple from one of the vendors before making his way back to the spot he argued with Cid. Sitting back on that stone wall, he laid his coat on the structure and got some of the sand off the red apple before beginning to pick at it. His mind was not in Agrabah. It was off with Kadaj and Rufus. What Tseng had failed to reveal to Cid was that Rufus was probably long dead and Kadaj was going to use the Turks for as long as he could before they figured it out. Rufus... why did he have to dig himself such a deep hole with everyone. Tseng shifted to hide his face from view, a sullen expression replacing his stoic and strong expression. The odds of him seeing another person from Gaia would be slim and he could afford to show a bit of how he was feeling. If Rufus was going threw anything like Elena and himself experienced, Rufus wouldn't be lasting too long. The President didn't have the Turk's endurance to pain and torture.... ...and Tseng had been the one to indirectly hand Kadaj, Rufus.[LT:Ana Johnson - "We Are"]
