1. Role-play in “Story Format” or third person. Many people write in third person and it is easier for the flow of the story line if it is all kept the same. That means you do not use an asterisk (*) or anything else to mark when your character is doing an action. Story Format is best described as writing a book. Use quotations when your character is talking. Also, please highlight what your character is saying in a color like in the example below. It makes it much easier to see when your character is talking and/or doing an action. [This will, most likely, be corrected in your RP sample in you profile.]
- Example: Larxene smirked. "I thought I would find you here, traitor." With once swift motion, she drew her kunais for attack.
2. No one Liners! I can understand it occasionally, but do not constantly post one-liners. Try not to do one or two word posts either. It wastes a lot of space, especially when you are the person replying. It is somewhat disappointing to come back to a thread to find that the person you are Role-playing with replied with only a couple of words. [This rule is STRICTLY enforced; first offense is a long private message warning.]
3.Check your spelling. Proper grammar is encouraged. Try to keep your spelling and general grammar correct to the best of your abilities. That is why there is a tool for us!
4.Keep God-Modding limited. - God-modding is doing a character's actions for them, besides your own. They can do their own actions. Keep it limited. Think, when you want to dodge an attack, “Is it possible for me to dodge it?” Some people would just write out: “He dodges the punch.” But if you’re nailed to the ground and still manage to dodge, something is wrong. Please describe how you were able to dodge the attack, if needed. In addition, character killing is not allowed. You may only kill another character if they have set up a place for you to kill them off and have notified the staff. [First offense is a kind warning.]
5.No Cybering (Internet Sex) - As well as no obscene picture or themes of any kind. [First offense is a 5 day banning]
6.No Flaming- Flaming is showing blatant disregard for the board’s rules, a staff member, or toward another member of the site. If you have a question or suggestion concerning the board, either post it in the Feedback section or let the staff know about it via private message. We will respond.
7.Place Affiliate in the appropriate area, nowhere else! If I find any ads in the wrong board, the staff will delete it and your ad will not be posted unless it is in the Advertisment/Affiliation Board! [First offense is a warning.]
9. The password, if you read all of these rules, is '99 Dalmatians'. By placing this password in your profile, you are saying that you will follow our rules and do not have anything against our punishments.
10. Don't post or reply to any role-playing threads until your profile has been accepted. You may only post in the chat threads, not the role-playing ones, until a member of the staff accepts your profile. This includes any c-box role-plays that may be in session.
11.You can have up to four characters on the site. We do not want people to be canon hogs, unless you are extremely active, but we also do not want too many made-ups running around either. Therefore, for that reason, out of the combination of four characters you can apply for in total, two MUST be canons, one MUST be a made-up, and the last character can be either of the two.
A] Cannon Characters: To get a second canon, all you need to do is post a profile. You do not need to wait too long after your first post. You do not need to wait at all to get another canon. Third and fourth are the same concepts as before. You may not have more than three cannons, there is no need for a canon hog! However, if you really want all four of your characters to be canons, ask an administrator.
B] Made-Up Characters: To get a made-up as a first character is hard. You must be active and you must have an exceptional profile. If you do not, it will be denied and you will be asked to make a canon. If you are requesting a made-up as your second character, you need to have 100 posts spread between any characters you may have. If you wish to gain a third made-up, you must have 250 posts and be extremely active. You may only have a limit of two made-up characters unless the staff approves it ahead of time.
For a fourth character, you must have an admin approval and be able to keep up with the site. You must make separate accounts for each character.
12. Since the maximum amount of characters you may have is four, any more than this is discouraged and not advised. We do not expect to see the same person playing a sibling or any of their sibling's characters. If you are caught, you will lose all your and your 'siblings' characters and you will likely be banned for a month. Only members who own their characters may contact the admin about anything concerning their respective accounts.
13.You must have a Signature and Avatar for each account. In addition, you must have an avatar/signature that fits your character. Like, Namine cannot have a Sora avatar and Sora cannot have a Namine one. If you want one that fits your character, then make a request. Our graphic moderator will be glad to help.
14. You may apply for staff when there is openings. To inquire about open staff positions, you must pm an administrator.
15. Everyone will be notified if a rule has been added. If the rules are updated, it will be listed in the following post.
16. When your character leaves a thread, you must place, in bold -"Exit Thread"- at the bottom of your post. When everyone exits the thread, the last person in there must post, in bold, "End Thread". The last person to reply to the thread must pm an admin that the topic has ended and the staff member will lock and move your thread(s) to the Archives.
17. Do not steal anything on this site. That includes, but is not limited to, personal poems and fanfics, Graphics, or Templates. If it is not yours, do not take it and claim it as your own! If you do use other’s things, credit them after asking for permission to use it. If they say, “No you may not borrow them.”, then no you may not use it. However, if the person places the item on the board for the board to use, you may use it. The real code is 'Cave of Wonders'. Do not mention '99 Dalmatians' in your Profile!
As for our templates, no one may use them. The staff had a problem before, with another site, because the site did not credit Confused Memories for them. That is why this rule was started. All theft will be highly punishable. In the least possible scenario, you will be banned for at least a month and the board using our template will be reported to Proboards. Do not test my patients. We currently have a copyright.
18.Activity Checks are a way to remove inactive members. They start on the 15th of every month and last till the 23rd of the month in the Activity Check Board. Everyone must post in it or pm an admin. You will be deleted unless you have already posted in the Vacation Area or the Activity Check thread!
19.No original romantic relationships with canons, unless it is stated strongly in the media. For example, Leon/Squall and Rinoa are fine, but Leon/Squall and Selphie are not. Original relationships between made-ups are fine, however.
20.The administrators have the right to make changes to the rules. This includes giving punishments to members who break the rules. Admins are able to give lighter or heavier punishments to those members, depending on what they did, no questions asked. Admins may also make edits to the rules when they see fit, but will always announce them if they are changed.
21.NPCs are considered any character that has not been applied for on the site. This includes some canons if you need to talk to them and it also includes characters such as innkeepers, heartless, or a random civilian. They may be used in role-plays from time to time, but don't go overboard and use them as much as you would your own character. If you do overuse an NPC, you should apply for them as a normal character so you may continue role-playing with them as long as you wish. On the other hand, if you want your character to role-play with the NPC, then you should get someone else to apply for this NPC. This avoids you having to role-play with yourself. If your character has another character that is dependent on yours, such as Xehanort Heartless's Guardian, then it is acceptable.
The rule of thumb is when you are using an NPC, the more independent the NPC is, the more it is considered a normal character rather than a NPC. Just do not go overboard with them and keep the use with them limited. So, use common sense. If you have any questions, ask a staff member first.
22. A new account needs to make a post within a week of joining or it can be deleted at any time.
23.Voting - All members on the board, with an approved character, are allowed to paticipate in the Monthly Polls. These include, but aren't limited to, the Member of the Month Poll and the Contest Polls. When voting, you may have only one vote. You may not vote with each character, just one of your characters. Using more than one of your character accounts to sway the poll in one direction or another is a form of cheating. Doing so will result in punishment. [New]

C-Box Rules
- No Advertising - So do not go putting a link in the c-box so people can check out your site. There is only one place for that and that is in the advertising section.
- No Cursing - You can swear slightly but do not overdo it please. If a staff member sees any really bad words You will be warned, maybe even banned!
- No Cybering or Themes - You will be banned from the c-box!
- Some Role-playing Allowed - but that is what the board is for so please do not overdo it!
- No character, no role-play - Just like for the boards, you need an accepted character to join in the c-box role-plays. However, you only need one, and then you can c-box RP as just about anyone, within reason.
- NO SPAMMING! - Please do not put pointless stuff like saying 'Spam' repeatedly! I can understand if you accidental posted it twice. I have done it before. [You will get up to three warning and then you will be banned.]

First Offense- You will be corrected on the post or through a private message.
Second Offense- The admin will send you a private message warning you not to do it again.
Third Offense- You will be banned for a few days from the forum.
Fourth Offense- You will be banned for a month from the fourm.
