"Such pitiful creatures, these Heartless. They move like they have no control over their own being. It is laughable that anyone should have problems fighting such creatures. In fact, once I have gained control of Kingdom Hearts for myself, I think I will have to find a more suitable replacement for these pawns. I think I shall call my own children to fight by my side, when the moment comes. Yes, Sephiroth would have no problems keeping order in my kingdom."[/b]
Heaven's Dark Harbringer was slowly gliding through the entrance to the Great Hall. This section of the Hallow Bastion castle would prove as a great fortress for mother. Jenova was deep into her search for the entrance to Kingdom Hearts, and this place had once served as an entrance into the great source of light. Her plan was simple, she was going to extinguish Kingdom Hearts, so that only darkness was to shine forever more.
She did, however, have a side mission. Jenova greatly missed her sons, and she hoped that they likewised missed their Mother. She had only once met her newest sons, Kadaj, Yazoo, and Loz, and that was only for the brief instant it took to begin the Second Reunion. Sure, they did not think on the caliber that her Sephiroth did, but she loved them the same.
She noticed the empty vessels to her left and right. A weak minded villain once tried use princesses to open the kingdom, and if he'd have had the mind the she did, he would have succeeded. The heartless, Ansem, had known the keybearer would come for him, but did not prepare himself for the occurance. If he'd held the 'other keybearer' in a tigher grip, them maybe, just maybe, he would have succeeded.
However, great opportunity arose in that fool's defeat. Jenova could now be the one to control, or rather destroy Kingdom Hearts. She now surrounded herself with several of the weaker heartless. She gained the power to control them slowly after her ressurection. She still had no idea how such an occurence happened, but welcomed it nonetheless.
The staircase split two ways, and, instead of climbing, Jenova simply glided to the platform ahead. The technicolor door ahead of her held few answers upon arrival, but Jenova sat still staring into the one time portal. The small shadows stared deep into the calamity's eyes. They tried to search for an order or request from the being in front of them, but alas they too were disappointed.
"Tonight, we have come closer to Kingdom Hearts. I shall call on my children. Maybe they have learned more in the time I was away. No you fool! I did not die, but I was merely hibernating you see. Waiting for the chance to come back.
"When I returned to the Planet, that Cetra told me to leave, and that I was not welcome in the Lifestream. Therefore, she sent just one cell of my being back to the Planet. Slowly, I began to re-emerge as the great being in front of you. The Third Reunion is upon us, Heartless, and this time it will reunite me with ALL of my chidren. This does include...the failure."[/b]

A frighteningly great Darkness was coming deep from within the tall, dark walls of Hollow Bastion, the castle which a certain silver-haired youth had visited several times in the past. Once to train in the powers of the Darkness under the wing of Maleficent the Witch, and then against do battle against the pesky 'Twilight Keybarer' Riku. He had also come here to do battle against the forces of Light when they attempted to storm this world and reclaim it for the Light. It was unfortunate that they succeeded in this attack, for the two companions he teamed up with were of little use to him. Two magic users going by the names of Kuja and Ultimecia... Apparently Sephiroth has met them both during the time of Cosmos' and Chaos' war with each other, but that was another story.
Shoulder length silver hair danced across the face of a young looking human, whose eyes were glowing with a bright turquoise shine. Mako cursed through his veins, along with the power of Darkness and the disease, Geostigma. It was thanks to these three traits that the Remnant of Sephiroth had gained additional powers to when he roamed the planet of Gaia in search for Mother's head. But something was amiss. 'Mother' was here, and it wasn't the girl in the pink dress either. Aerith's heart was nearly as pure as the Princesses of Heart, so it most definitely wasn't her in this world. The power the Remnant Leader could feel coming from deep inside Hollow Bastion was so familiar, he almost felt like retching. Hands tightening into fists, the Remnant clenched his teeth together tightly. ".... Jenova..." He hissed through clenched teeth.
The silver-haired Remnant, the youngest of the three brothers and also the pack leader took a few steps forwards towards the massive castle the stretched high up into the sky before him. Kadaj was his name and during his time spent in the Kingdom Heart's universe, he has gained tremendous strength and ability, mostly thanks to the metamorphosis with Sephiroth during the Second Reunion. Those thoughts made Kadaj feel sick. He had spent so much time and effort calculating and carrying out his plans for the sole purpose to please Mother, and in the end, when everything had finally gone the Remnant's way... she picked Sephiroth instead of himself... Sephiroth... the supposed 'Chosen One' was just as much a failure as both Cloud Strife AND Zack Fair. Kadaj had taken massive steps during his time here, disrupting Organization XIII's plans several times and defeating at least half their members in combat. Destiny Island and his home world of Gaia fell to the Darkness under his blade. The three brothers were reunited and proceeded to carry out their plans in these new worlds.
"... And what has Sephiroth done to please you so much?!!!" Kadaj said, still speaking through clenched teeth that muffled his voice, making it close to a whisper. His tone was dark, dreadfully dark. The hatred plastered across his face was a clear to see as the midday sun in a cloudless sky. Lifting up one of his arms, Kadaj opened his palm and waved his hand before himself. A groaning echoed throughout the area he was in as a Dark Portal materialized itself into existence, wisps of various dark colour escaping from the smoking void. The silver-haired youth stepped forth and through the portal, appearing smack bang in between JENOVA and the technicolour door through another Dark Portal which vanished the moment the Remnant had stepped through completely.
Glowing mako eyes stared at the figure before him, his brow tightened so much that his pupils could barely be seen. What was this abomination doing here?! Why was she alive?! Kadaj himself had personally absorbed her severed head directly into his own body to complete the Second Reunion... Yet the silver-haired youth didn't feel any weaker, as if he had his powers draining from JENOVA's revival... So what was going on? Shouldn't he be happy to see her? Far from it to be truthful. Kadaj held unending rage and fury for this creature, thanks to her betrayal during the Geostigma Crisis. Aerith, the flower girl from the Midgar slums was by far closer to being his 'Mother' then whatever this excuse for a being was. At least so Kadaj thought. Kadaj said nothing. He didn't want to say anything. He wasn't even sure himself why he was confronting her like this... A memory within the back of his mind retold him that by absorbing further pieces of JENOVA, that his strength would only continue to grow, giving him the powers he needed to destroy Sephiroth and prove who the real 'Chosen One' really is.

A black portal opened before Jenova, and out from it walked her youngest son, Kadaj. Kadaj had pleased his mother to a great extent while she was cementing her mimetic legacy. He was the reason the Second Reunion was a success, and that she was one of the calamity's favorite children.
"My son, you have returned to me in my hour of darkest desire. Have you sensed your mother's pain? I have missed you, my child."[/b]
Jenova, however, had noticed that her son was not pleased to see her. The look upon his face told Jenova a story she did not want to hear. She beleived he was upset that she chose Sephiroth over himself. Kadaj was a great warrior, but his power was nowhere near that of Sephiroth. Kadaj struggled to keep an even ground with Cloud in that fight. He had barely kept his head through part of the fight, and even when he combined his power with Yazoo and Loz on that highway, he still came out behind. She only chose Sephiroth because his physical abilities were far greater than Kadaj's own. Maybe he was mad because she did not give Kadaj the chance to finish the fight.
"My son, your eyes tell a story to break a mother's heart. You are mad because I chose the angel over yourself? I only ever chose him because his physical abilities heavily outweighed your own. I gave you your chance to fight Cloud, and he won. If you hadn't succeeded in the Reunion, then you would have died right next to me in those ruins."[/b]
Jenova lifted herself to the center of the room. She slowly spread her arms to display the magnificence behind her appearance. "I need you by my side Kadaj; I need you to help me find Kingdom Hearts. Together we can accomplish a Third Reunion. A Reunion where I choose ALL my children, even the puppet.
"I know you miss me, Kadaj. Even if you are angered by my presence, that does not completely hide your sorrow. A son always misses his mother, and you are no exception. Now, come take your mother's side."[/b]
Jenova landed softly and dismissed her Heartless. She had no use for the brainless creatures while her son was in her presence. Why would she carry the imbeciles at her side, when she could have an individual of elevated inteligence? Any one of the Remnants was worth a thousand of the strongest Heartless. She would find Kingdom Hearts, and accomplish the Third Reunion.

((I am dreadfully sorry for the delay my friend. A little unnecessary hold up in the Staff department restricted my ability to log on and post. Quake not! I hath returned!!!! >=D)) What was he doing here? Kadaj had worked hard all his second life in these worlds, doing the hardest he could to drain this aliens voice from out of his mind altogether. All throughout the Geostigma Crisis, the Second Reunion and a couple of years after his 'death', thanks to Sephiroth's stubbornness, the Leader of the Remnant's had endless had JENOVA's voice calling and speaking within his mind. A voice he wished to never hear again. Yet here he was, confronting his supposed 'Mother' with nothing but anger and hatred guiding him, his two greatest traits passed on from Sephiroth himself... Perhaps this was also thanks to JENOVA? Maybe this was why she spoke to him this way? It wasn't helping, at least to the silver-haired Remnant, it didn't feel like it was helping. The more she spoke, the greater Kadaj's rage grew.
The Remnant took a small step backwards, his arms remaining by his sides with hands clenched into tight fists. Glowing eyes unwavering as he stared endlessly at the creature before him. What was that she just said...? ~Hour of Darkest Desire...?~ He thought to himself, running those words through his mind over and over again. What could that mean? She had returned to life much like he had done so before... Kadaj wasn't in a 'hour of dark desire'. Sure, he was confused for a moment until getting the hang of things, such as understanding the Heartless, keyblades, Light and Darkness and everything else that made up this strange yet somehow exciting worlds. Kadaj quickly brought himself back to reality and locked eyes with the Calamity from the Skies once again, his brow still tightened dangerously and his stare strong enough to pierce the souls of men.
"You don't know anything!" Kadaj shouted, his left arm reaching back until he felt his gloved hand tighten quickly around the handle of his Souba. He didn't draw his weapon though, not yet. It felt like he couldn't, no matter how great the desire was to remove this creatures head personally. An idea formed within his mind, but would he even be able to pull it off? Would it even work if he succeeded as well? For half a second, the Remnant thought it actually would work, until being disturbed from his thoughts by more of JENOVA's voice coming his way. "The... 'angel'..?!" Kadaj repeated, hissing through clenched teeth. "The 'Angel' has done NOTHING ever since I awoke in this world!! I've obtained and completed much greater feats then the likes of 'HIM' could even dream of!! As for Cloud?! My dear black sheep of a brother?! Do no forget, 'Mother', that I was fighting him with only one hand AND from being bombarded with emotion after finally discovering you!! Any other situation and i'd have won!! Yet you go and pick your precious little 'angel' because what?! He's greater then me at fighting?!! Perhaps you forgot that ego he carries around with him? His stubbornness, his big-headedness?! You also forget 'Mother', that Sephiroth's power was divided into thirds since myself, Loz and Yazoo are all part of him!!! It was foolish of you to pick him!!!!"
Kadaj was shouting loudly at the end of this, the veins in his arms and forehead raising up from the sheer amount of stress he was currently feeling. Nothing had ever gotten the the Remnant so furious before. If he were able to breath fire from rage, he would most certainly be doing do by now. Her next words seemed to fall upon deaf ears and the silver-haired Remnant took another step backwards, getting some distance between himself and this abomination. Kadaj had no idea just how powerful this alien was nor did he know if he'd win fighting against her. A small bead of sweat fell from his forehead, trickled down his nose and dropped off his nose tip. All throughout, his glowing Mako eyes were locked onto JENOVA's. "I do NOT miss you..." Kadaj's voice had fallen dangerously quiet as he slowly started to pull the Souba out of it's sheath. "After what you've done to me and my brothers, I'm sick to the core to know that a piece of YOU is inside of me..."

Hollow Bastian was a world that Sephiroth had been on once before. There was no reason for him to be called back to the world ever since he and Genesis had met up before he had re-obtained the Black Materia. The first time was because of the likes of Cloud, and of the Keybearer. Ever since then he had been busy on his own quest. It was a vision of a universe watched over by Jenova and was kept in check by himself. Sephiroth always had the utmost respect for his mother, but he would refuse to be used like a puppet like Cloud was.
A force was calling him back to this planet and he believed that it had something to do with his vision. All the planets were the same to Sephiroth when he had left Gaia and they all would be used in his plan. He had learned about Kingdom Hearts and believed it would be best if he used it for his plan. Jenova would be able to rule all of the universe with Kingdom Hearts under her control and then nothing would be able to get in her way, like the people of Gaia did a few years ago. They dared to intrude on her slumber and use her for various experiments. The planet, which was rightfully hers, was robbed right from her fingers. Nothing they did would be forgiven.
Darkness swirled on the hallway of the lift stop and out of a flash of darkness Sephiroth had appeared, several black feathers floating gracefully off of his body. He walked forward towards the Grand Hall, which was behind two grand wooden doors. There was no need for Sephiroth to cause any destruction to the castle, not yet anyway, Cloud was not on the world so there was no need for attention to be brought. The silver-haired swordsman stepped forward and the two wooden doors had slid open like if they were expecting him to come.
From behind the door he could hear someone shouting, and it sounded very familiar to him. He had overheard his speech out of hatred towards Jenova and he shook his head, his silver locks waving gracefully as he did so. His mako blue eyes glared at the two in front of them and he recognized them both. Jenova, his mother and Kadaj, his remnant. The sight of his mother actually being in his eyesight made Sephiroth smirk. She was the one who had led him back to Hollow Bastian. Sephiroth's eyes locked onto what Kadaj was planning and he spoke out as he walked forward.
"Kadaj, I advise you to not draw your weapon." He jumped up into the air and landed by Jenova's side. "Hello, mother." The One Winged Angel said as he glanced over to her, and then back to Kadaj. "Mother is not the one to blame for your failure, Kadaj. These emotions that you cling to are to blame." His eyelids shut for a quick moment as he looked to the sky. "You were gifted with the blessing of mother and you refuse to accept it." He looked back down again at Kadaj. "Which makes you another useless tool like Cloud was." Sephiroth didn't care how to get Kadaj back on their side, all he cared about was to do it. "A puppet that will be cast aside time and time again." He knew that Kadaj's emotions would start to get the better of him.
"You, Loz, and Yazoo are misguided by your feelings. You three try to show that you don't need mother and try to become stronger, but you forget that you all are nothing but puppets and shadows that are plagued by their own emotions and memories of defeat. You were your own downfall Kadaj and nothing will change that fact." Sephiroth turned around so that his back was facing Kadaj, he had no need to give him his attention anymore. "Mother, what is our plans?"

Jenova remained quiet during Kadaj's futile attempt at an explanation. His excuses had their flaws, and the harbringer hoped to teach her son that excuses could not be tolerated. When the time came for her to speak, she took the chance.
"Why do you make excuses for yourself? Your weapon is a one handed blade, you wouldn't have even used your second hand. Why did you even wait to finish him? Why not finish him at the City of the Ancients? You had him in the fields of Midgar, and you called off your brothers. As much as I'd like to think one day Cloud would join us, the truth is, he will never join us on his own free will. We must accept that and move forward. You are either with me, Kadaj, or against me. What is your choice?"
Before Kadaj could answer her demand with either a blade or a smile, her angel entered the room. The greatest SOLDIER in history had befallen Hollow Bastion, Jenova's new keep. She would use this castle to further her quest into Kingdom Hearts.
Jenova had felt the presence of her angel since he had first landed on the twisted castle. She decided not to address the matters, as she figured it would upset her Kadaj further. She had plans for all of her children in her efforts to open Kingdom Hearts, but she could not accomplish her plans without her angel. Sephiroth was the means for success, as he was the one warrior that struck fear in those who did not know the name Jenova.
She hovered silently as Sephiroth provided the final piece of the explanation. Sephiroth had a knack for keeping his emotions in check. Many often wondered if the One Winged Angel even had such feelings, but he did, he just had the sense to let go. Ever since he found out the truth behind his mother's legacy, Sephiroth had the appearance of no emotions.
As he finished his explanation to his Remnant, Jenova heard the reason for his appeareance at her new domicile. He had indeed come to aid Jenova in her plans. She kept her gaze with Kadaj for formalities only. If this were a game of chess, she would play the King, and Sephiroth would play the Queen. The Remnants would all play Knights in her quest for control of the light.
"Finally, you have returned to me, Sephiroth. Soon, the other Remnants will join us, and our plans can be finally be set into motion. As you have probably figured out, the Third Reunion is at hand. This time, I plan to unite myself with Kingdom Hearts. There I will gain control of all the hearts in existance, and I will be able to proclaim myself as their one true leader. I will succeed where Xehanort failed thrice.
"I have been focusing on Xehanort's Heartless's attempts, but alas, I have found out that I am missing the Seven Princesses. I expect they're guarded with the utmost security, after the imbecile refused to take care of the Keybearer while he had the chance. Not to mention, I've heard one of the princesses is a keyblader herself now.
"I would like to use Xemnas's means. Again, however, we lack the means to accomplish our task. We would need a keyblader under our control to break into Kingdom Hearts that way. We lack the means to release the hearts that the Heartless carry. Therefore, this option is also out of the question.
"That leads me to the X-Blade. I know very little about this weapon, aside from the fact it can open Kingdom Hearts. Have you heard anything on this legendary weapon? I want to know all you have to say, Sephiroth."

The silver-haired Remnant's eyes remained narrowed as he stared at the monster before him. Her very presence was making him feel sick. The longer Kadaj felt her darkness, her powers, the more and more he was growing tempted to find Cloud and attempt to convince him himself to join forces against this alien and her 'angel'. Nothing was going to change that. Kadaj hated this creature more then anything else alive and it didn't help the situation in the slightest that Sephiroth was bound to take up JENOVA's side and aid her in the coming battles. Kadaj had to admit he'd not win against two opponents of such scale. If the battles were one on one, then perhaps there might be a glimmer of hope. Kadaj had been training endlessly throughout his time here in the Kingdom Hearts universe, gaining great powers over the darkness as well as increasing his own natural strengths and abilities. But what of the lapdog?
Were it true that Sephiroth would merely grow stronger, just because the Remnants were as well? There were so many questions that needed to be answered and there wasn't anyone who could provide the answers... no one the Remnant Leader would be willing to talk to in a calm manner anyway. JENOVA obviously knew much, perhaps everything and more besides. Sephiroth? He was just as much a puppet as Cloud is, helplessly being manipulated by the headless alien. The fact he showed no emotions only lead to him not being able to express this. Why didn't he have emotions? Kadaj, Loz and Yazoo had them all instead. Just as the alien had said, it was these that was holding the Remnant back. Yet the more he thought about it, the more Kadaj started to appreciate these emotions. At least he HAD them, making him much less of a mindless puppet as Sephiroth himself were, only hell-bent on having his strings pulled by JENOVA's will. Kadaj wasn't anything like that. He has his own choice, his own destiny to carve. JENOVA said it herself only moments ago.
~You are either with me, Kadaj, or against me. What is your choice?~ The silver-haired youth thought to himself, repeating the words that the monster had spoke to him. What is your choice? The complete opposite of the situation Sephiroth had. The 'angel' didn't have a choice. Kadaj on the other hand, did. As did Loz and Yazoo, and the Remnant Leader knew very well that his brothers would stick by his side, instead of joining JENOVA, that included the black sheep as well as Zack Fair. But there was a small problem. Cloud disliked the Remnant. Would he even listen were Kadaj to attempt to confront him about this? This situation was indeed dire, which only became much worse with the arrival of the said 'angel'. Sephiroth was here and he strode into the room which just as much arrogance as one would expect. Kadaj watched as he approached JENOVA and took her side, his mako-blue eyes looking directly into his own.
Kadaj glared back, his own turquoise eyes glowing brightly with Mako. The puppet himself had arrived and seeing the two of them together was no only a sickening sight, it was also somewhat amusing. The puppet and the puppeteer were together once more and the silver-haired youth knew very well that attempting at attack now would be close to suicide. Words weren't going to work either as that wasn't his strong point. But Kadaj still had that choice. For now however, he was more concerned about how he was going to escape this place without loosing any of his limbs. Sephiroth was powerful, but Kadaj didn't fear him. He would be able to put up a decent fight against the One Winged Angel, but with support from JENOVA... things would turn sour, pretty quickly.
"If by 'other Remnants', you're referring to my brothers, Loz and Yazoo, then I'm afraid you're mistaken. They follow my orders and mine alone. Unlike your precious 'angel' you said yourself, we have a choice. We can choose to join you, or perhaps we can choose to join Cloud and crush you both into dust." Kadaj said, his hand still gripped tightly around the handle of his Souba and even though his eyes were locked onto JENOVA, all his senses were being diverted towards Sephiroth. If an attack was to come from either of them, Kadaj would be ready for it. Kadaj smirked and raised his head slightly, eyes still locked onto JENOVA, listening to her as she spoke to Sephiroth. There were several things said that caught his attention, the main one being that JENOVA knew not of where to find a Keyblade wielder to join their cause. The silver-haired youth knew of many, with one in particular that Kadaj himself was planning to get under his control. Then the X-Blade was also mentioned, a weapon Kadaj had little information about, but knew a few select things about it, probably more then her cherished Sephiroth did. And that one, single word returned to his mind.
'Choice'.
Kadaj just started to laugh to himself, knowing he could either give JENOVA a good head-start in her quest to achieving her goal, or continue to be the thorn in her side and slow her down at every turn. Emotions... choice... Kadaj was glad to be himself and glad to have these traits and options... these 'choices', and not helplessly being tugged along by the strings that held him to JENOVA, unlike a poor unfortunate angel.

Sephiroth pushed back a small lock of his hair that had fallen in front of his face as he listened to his mother speak to him. His back was still turned to Kadaj and he would not turn around to acknowledge him unless something important was said, and that wouldn't happen. She talked about the Third Reunion, which sparked Sephiroth's interest, and continued on about how a man named Xehanort had failed. Sephiroth didn't know who she was talking about, but didn't care who he was. This Xehanort would not be remembered unless he would become a threat to their plans.
Jenova continued on about Xehanort and the seven princesses of heart, they would be key to their plan, and all he did was listen. When she mentioned the Keyblade and Keybearers, Sephiroth keyed into the conversation. He remembered his bout with the Keyblader and he was an interesting foe to face, but the Keybearer was still nothing compared to the puppet. The Keyblade is what sparked him and he had heard legends about the Keyblade when he roamed Hollow Bastian in search for Cloud. As it seemed, both Jenova and Sephiroth needed the Keyblade to continue with their plans.
X-Blade? Sephiroth thought when Jenova mentioned it. He had heard once before that there was a legendary blade called the X-Blade, and he had heard that from his old friend Genesis. "Mother, I have heard of the X-Blade, Genesis had enlightened me on the subject." He paused knowing that Kadaj was listening, but didn't care. "I recall he mentioned Hearts of Purity... a Heart of Pure Darkness... and a Heart of Pure Light.." It was back in Twilight Town where Genesis had told him about the X-Blade. He didn't remember much about it, but all he needed to know were the key details. Mount Gagazet was their last meeting and ever since then Genesis had went missing once more, probably searching for the Gift.
Although Genesis always forgot time and time again that the 'Gift of the Goddess' wasn't some object, it was the piece of Jenova he had inside of him. Kadaj spoke up once more and Sephiroth stood still like he always does. The remnant would never learn if he continued on like he does. If he had teamed up with the puppet there would still be no threat to Sephiroth nor Jenova. He knew that Mother and himself would be more than enough to take down their team. "If we are to get our plans done we will have to start now. There is no opposition to us, we should be finished quickly." Sephiroth lifted up his hand and a small orb of darkness formed into his hand. The Black Materia materialized in his hand as he showed his mother what he had re-obtained, keeping it out of Kadaj's sight. "What has once been lost is now regained. With it nothing will get in our way." The Black Materia disappeared from his hand as he put it back in its resting place.

Jenova listened intently as Kadaj mentioned joining sides with Cloud. Would her son be so bold to go against her legacy? Jenova's whole existance was to control and destroy. That is why she exterminated the Cetra. Both Sephiroth and Jenova came within seconds of eliminating the Planet, and if it weren't for that Ancient they would have succeeded. Cloud was nothing but a thorn in their sides. Even if he was responsible for the first death of her angel, Jenova had not been at full power through the entire affair. Even when she broke out of that accursed ShinRa Headquarters, she had been missing her head. Finally, Jenova had been reborn in her full glory.
Before she addressed Kadaj, she listened to Sephiroth's intel on the legendary blade. It seems she would need a heart of pure darkness and a heart of pure light to create the blade. She herself had no trace of the light left in her body, but the weilding of that particular blade rested with the One Winged Angel. She would have Sephiroth open the door, and, with his new mighty weapon, he would protect her while she gained access to all of the power Kingdom Hearts had to offer.
Sephiroth mentioned something about Genesis in his report. That was interesting in itself. She had already pegged him as a failure, but it seems she may have been misguided. If Genesis was found, then he could help her obtain the blade as well. Then does that mean Angeal was still alive as well? That left her another second to ponder, before she finally addressed Sephiroth. She would address him first, because his words were more important to Jenova's mission in the universe.
"I see Genesis wasn't a failure after all. What does that mean about Angeal?" She gave him a few moments to answer before she continued. "A heart of darkness we have. You, my son, are the true chosen weilder of the X-Blade, I am sure of it. We only need a heart of purity to complete the blade. Sephiroth, it is time for you to embrace your true destiny. You see, I failed you at the Planet's core. You performed admirably, but I was not whole, you see. Not as I am now, for I am at my full glory for the first time since my arrival on that wreched ball of dirt.
However, you are right. We do need to start immediately..." She finally set eyes on the Black Materia, the weapon that once brought an entire planet to its knees. They could use this as a weapon of fear alone. Maybe even force the Keybearer to join them; that is, if he doesn't want his small oasis to be destroyed. As long as they did not make the same mistake as last time. Killing Aerith may have been their downfall. Holy would have been a difficult to combat, but even when she did cast it, the spell only helped Meteor to destroy Midgar.
"This brings great pleasure to me, my son. We now have everything we need except that Keybearer. He is the purity we need. Now, as for you, Remnant, you talk as if you want to betray me, but you won't do so outloud. You are too afraid to combat us, and you assure yourself that the puppet will not join you. You may be mistaken as to Loz and Yazoo's allegience. Your anger is betraying you, Kadaj. Let go and join us. This is my final offer, for if we leave without you, then we will next meet as enemies. You say Sephiroth has no choice? You are far from right. You see, my angel aknowledges the choices, and he knows my way is...perfect.
"We both help each other accomplish our goals. I will help him craft the X-Blade, and he will help me obtain Kingdom Hearts. I have no use for the blade alone, only its power to open the gates. His destiny is to weild the blade, mine is to weild the hearts. You see, we are equals. He holds the sword, and I hold the shield. Now, if you are with us, then we're leaving. If not, I will leave it up to your big brother as to whether or not you leave here alive."

A man in an all black leather suit made his way over to the large giant doors by the castle doors. This particular man is a Remnant of Sephiroth and posses the angels strength and dominant speed. His name is Loz. The Remnant came to this particular place, because he just felt he was meant to be here at this time. As the doors opened up he took one step in, and took a look around.
In a instant Loz could tell this place was going to be full of those black creatures. "Big place." He said with a slight shrug. Carefully, he walked up the stairs, and started to wander around a little. He had absolutely no idea why he was here. Though somehow the man thought he was going to get lost in this place. With every foot step Loz took an echo was created louder than the last.
Soon he found himself to be in a large room with very many books. "Books?" he said in disgust. The Remnant did not want to bother with books, so he continued to just wander around a little bit. As time past he finally made it to the 'Great Hall'. That is when he noticed Jenova, Kadaj, and Sephiroth. He was somewhat speechless to actually see Jenova here without her head being torn off by Kadaj yet.
Loz slowly made is way over to Kadaj's side. From there he just glanced at Sephiroth and looked over to Jenova. "Jenova." Loz whispered softly. His eyes slowly started to water while looking at her. No, he couldn't cry here or now! With all his might he tried to hold back all the tears, with that he wiped his watery eyes. "Kadaj what is Mother and Sephiroth doing here?" He asked his brother.
After asking his question, he looked back over to Jenova and slightly clenched his hand into a fist. The leather made a small rubbing sound as Loz did this. He just did not know what to expect to happen. To Loz Sephiroth was an enemy because he was somewhat of an enemy to Kadaj. Now the day has come, and his Mother is back. How is he supposed to react now? Who should he join?

The great hall was quickly filling up with the power of Darkness. At this rate, people from others worlds may even sense the growing strength and might even come and investigate what was going on. But the chances of that one person being Kadaj's 'black sheep' of a brother, were pretty low. In fact, it was a 0% chance it would be Cloud. He knew what he was like just as much as the rest of AVALANCHE did. This was certainly an interesting situation to be in. A bad one, but interesting none the less. JENOVA, the Calamity who had once manipulated the Remnant Leader into doing her bidding once before, had returned and seemed content to wrestle the silver-haired youth back under her control once again. This wasn't his 'Mother'. This was just some disturbed creature pretending to be his mother. Kadaj could see through her game, read her like an open book. But could she, him? Kadaj was part of Sephiroth so perhaps he was being predictable with the way he was acting?
A moment passed and as Sephiroth and JENOVA exchanged words, Kadaj had time to think things through. It was true that the Remnant Leader and the Calamity's dreams were pretty similar. Crush the Light and take control... but that was the key issue. Kadaj wanted to be in control, not the one being controlled and he knew just as well as JENOVA intended, that he'd be taking a back seat while Sephiroth took charge. Sephiroth... it always had to be Sephiroth didn't it? What could be done, if anything, that would divert JENOVA's attention away from the One Winged Angel, if only for a few minutes? Not that the silver-haired youth wanted to be praised by the headless freak once more, on the contrary. If Kadaj could seperate her from Sephiroth for just a moment, he'd be able to fight and win. A curse wanted to escape his lips for acting too slow when first encountering her, but nothing came.
His hand lowered itself from the handle of his Souba before each arm folded itself across his chest, the leather covering his arms creaking slightly as it tightened. The Remnant's turquoise eyes finally broke away from the Calamity as he turned and tilted his head off to one side, clearly in thought over something. The figure of a woman wearing a pink dress clearly became visible within the Remnant's mind, and he questioned himself why she was in his thoughts. What could that flower girl possibly have to do wi-- "....!!" The Remnant's eyes flashed as he glanced back towards Sephiroth and JENOVA, looking down at them both from his raised position half up the steps that lead to the multicoloured door behind him. His eyes sharpened and focused as he locked back onto them both, peering from one to the other as more thoughts entered his mind, being calculated over before proceeded onwards to the next. Kadaj was a genius. There would be a way to thwart JENOVA's and Sephiroth's plan, obtain a piece of JENOVA and the Black Materia, before crushing them both and continuing with his own plans... But WHAT was it? How could such a feat be achieved?
"The X-Blade already exists..." Kadaj said out loud interrupting Sephiroth as he was giving his explanation. With arms still folded across his chest, he looked down upon his 'Mother' and 'Brother' once again with a smug grin. "Sephiroth's information is wrong. I know where to find this weapon and I know of a suitable Keybarer to help out..." He continued, half telling the truth. He did know of a suitable Keybarer, one that he himself intended to take under his wing but the rumours about the exact location of the X-Blade were unknown. Still, neither Sephiroth nor JENOVA could read his thoughts so how would they know? Before he had a chance to continue however, Kadaj watched as the doors at the far end of the room opened, a familiar sight stepping through that was none other then his brother, Loz. Kadaj wanted to let out a sigh of relief, but instead he held it back, not wanting to give anything away. The Remnant Leader was incredibly relieved to watch his dear brother come stand at his own side instead of approaching JENOVA.
Kadaj was most worried about Loz defecting to JENOVA's side and abandoning him and to see that this was not the case, only proved Loz's loyalty. Kadaj bit his tongue at Loz's question, but smirked and nodded towards him before answering. "Mother and I were just discussing the best course of action to obtain the X-Blade... After all, she intends to show her love to ALL her children and not just the 'chosen angel'..." Kadaj said, turning to glance at JENOVA as he paused during the sentence. "... and has decided to give us all important jobs to do, to achieve our goal." He continued, looking back at Loz before placing his hand upon his shoulder and giving it a firm squeeze. Turning around, the Remnant Leader put his back towards JENOVA and Sephiroth before embracing Loz in a firm hug. Quickly, he raised his head and whispered into his ear in an almost inaudible tone. "I believe they'll both try and kill us the first chance they get... Sephiroth will anyway... He is the 'Chosen One' remember and must desire to be constantly picked and favoured by JENOVA... Stick with me and play along..." Kadaj then released his grip around Loz's shoulders and took a step backwards, glaring at him with a serious expression across his face before whirling back around towards JENOVA and Sephiroth. "Isn't that right, Mother?!"

Sephiroth listened as his mother praised him as she always did. She mentioned that he would be the one to wield the X-Blade and that he will be the one to open Kingdom Hearts. The One Winged Angel was about to speak, but before he could Kadaj had interrupted him. Kadaj mentioned that the X-Blade already existed and that he knew who wielded it. It didn't matter who held the X-Blade in Sephiroth's eyes. All that mattered was that the plans were going to be completed one way or the other, no matter who stood in their way.
Loz then stepped into the room and Sephiroth noticed Kadaj's change in tone. He isn't fooling anyone... But, we'll see what he has to offer. Any resistance shown by those three will be dealt with. He was also referring to Yazoo, but unknown to them he had a hidden plan up his sleeve. Even if Genesis didn't return, nor if Angeal joined them, Sephiroth had his backup plan. Although he alone was enough for those three, even if they did manage to turn the X-Blade against Jenova. "Mother, the remnants seem to have a sudden change of heart. Perhaps they should be put through a test to see if they are truly loyal."
His eyes glanced over to Loz with a smirk across his face, noticing his confusion. "Both of you have a job to do. Bring us this 'X-Blade' and the Keybearer with it." Since he was the chosen one and his mother was by his side, it was about time the subordinates would do the work. "So we can be brought to the promised land, Kingdom Hearts. We shall rejoice once more." Sephiroth turned around again since he had no need to speak to the remnants.
"Mother, if all has been discussed, I am going to leave for the day." His head tilted up as he looked to the ceiling, making mental notes of where this place was. "I have plans that will help ours." The Puppet will soon be a puppet under our control once more. The One Winged Angel extended his wing and looked back to Jenova, waiting for her next answer. He did not want to leave his mother alone with the remnants. She wouldn't have a problem dealing with them, but he always liked reassurance.

Jenova had noticed Loz enter the building some time ago; in fact, she'd been expecting it, as she called all of her children. Loz entered the room with teary eyes and a look of unease as he tried to figure out whether or not Mother was right. Loz was the perfect Remnant to come to the scene, as he was the one emotions effected the most. Jenova was nearly certain that she could lead him away from his younger brother. "Loz, how good of you to join us. Now, dry your eyes and assist your brother."
She knew there was a ploy behind the sudden change of heart, but she couldn't quite figure it out. Her best guess was that Kadaj planned to use the keybearer for his own interests, but that would not be wise. Jenova would have to hunt her own son if he did not deliver the X-Blade to her. He glanced at her youngest child before continuing, "Kadaj, if you succeed in giving me the X-Blade and the hand that wields it, then I will excuse your insubordination today. Now, leave and bring me the pure hearted keyblader before I can discover your true intentions."
Her attention now rested upon the One Winged Angel. He was ready to execute the Calamity's master plan. Jenova, however, was not one to share the next stage of her destiny. She wanted to read Ansem the Wise's research on the X-Blade. Even if she had the weapon in her possession, she still had no idea how it would open Kingdom Hearts.
It seemed as if Radiant Garden would be her best hopes to complete her research. She would inhabit the sanctuary, and use the Black Materia to unleash her greatest weapon. This weapon was not Meteor itself, but Fear. She would promise to save the citizens if they delivered Ansem's Report to her. The only sorrow lies in her inability to call off the powerful black magic.
She decided to speak up, just loud enough for Sephiroth to hear. "Wait here with me, just long enough for the Remnants to leave, and I will tell you the next step in our plan. Kadaj thinks he is strong enough to single one of us out, and, if that happens, I want both of us to deliver his punishment. He cannot take one of us, let alone the most formidible team in the history of the universe."
Jenova now held her eyes again on Kadaj. Her piercing stare awaiting his leave. She knew his allegience was nothing but a veil, but as long as he was feigning his love, then she would use it to her advantage. No one, especially a Remnant would outsmart the Harbringer. However, someone did need to leave the castle. The Keybearer would soon come sensing the darkness, and, even though he was hardly a threat, she did not want a wrench anywhere near her plans. That one had been underestimated dozens of times in the past, and Jenova would not let that happen again.

It only took a few moments before Kadaj embraced him with a hug. The Remnant felt his brothers body and arms ever so gently. Before Kadaj had let go, he whispered something into his ear. Once the hug was over, he herd Sephiroth pretty much bark out commands like he was his leader. Loz cracked his neck and kept his hand clenched in a fist. Only TWO people can tell him what to do.
Those very two people are Kadaj and Yazoo. Though what if Mother gives him commands to do something? That's when she told him to dry his eyes and help out his brother. Slowly, his hand began to unclench for he was starting to think things through now. Loz knew he was not the smartest one around, but every now and then he needs to think for his own self.
Carefully, he was starting to think about the options he has out in front of him now. Currently, he can decide to join none of them, or he could join Mother and the Angel, or Kadaj the one who was always there. Again his eyes were starting to water, which led to the tears starting to roll right down his face ever so quickly. One bye one each of his tears landed on his leather attire or the ground.
However, Loz decided who he was going to side with. "I don't take orders from you Sephiroth." The Remnants eyes were fully locked on to the One Winged Angels. Loz choice was very clear. He was going to side with Kadaj and be there for his brother. Even if he did manage to find this X-Blade, he would never give it to Sephiroth. The first person he would give it to would be Kadaj.
With one hand, he wiped away his remaining tears and took a deep breath. This whole situation was only emotional for him because he decided to go against his Mother. Loz was not going to hurt her, unless she tried to hurt Kadaj in any way. Slowly, his head turned to look at Kadaj and then back over to Sephiroth. Really, Loz was going to try and stay cool.
He knew that his Brother had some kind of a plan so he had to follow out with it. In a way it was bad enough he said what he said to Sephiroth. " If a fight breaks out if better be fun." He said in his mind. Now all he could do was wait for something, or anything to happen.

Kadaj stared at his 'Mother' and the One Winged Angel, his brow relaxed for the time being and a small, simple smile spread across his lips as he continued to listen to the words that were sent his way from JENOVA. The silver-haired Remnant was staring at Sephiroth in particular, mainly at the back of his head because of his own ignorance getting the better of him. The Remnant Leader was smirked on the inside though, knowing that his 'big brother' was in the same league as himself. No matter how much the 'angel' or his Mother thought about it, the facts were there to see. After his revival into these strange worlds, Kadaj's strength had only continued to grow with aid of the Darkness within his heart. He was essentially another 'Sephiroth'. A clone or indeed, a Remnant of him. The Legendary SOLDIER was supposedly the best there was, yet would he even be able to defeat himself?
Kadaj wasn't an idiot. Quite the opposite. He knew any resistance towards either one of the alien or the winged monster would result in a fight breaking out. Even with a very loyal Loz at his side, Kadaj knew the two of them wouldn't beat both JENOVA and Sephiroth without dire consequences. It wasn't impossible, but a couple other party members were required and no matter how much the silver-haired youth directed his senses outside of Hollow Bastion, their presences couldn't be picked up. That was mostly due to JENOVA and Sephiroth being here. The Remnant Leader didn't want to divert too much of his attention into his senses as to not spot an attack coming his way from Sephiroth. He seemed the one most likely to attack out of the Mother and Son team.
When the orders from the 'angel' were spoken, Kadaj turned his head a fraction towards the winged monster and smirked physically this time, mostly at Loz's reply. Raising up his arm, the Remnant Leader gently pressed his hand against Loz's thick, bear-like chest as if halting him to calm down from his apparent desire to charge Sephiroth. Kadaj didn't want to see his loyal brother get hurt and knew fully well that they'd both need to fight together without any distractions from JENOVA getting in their way. That was the only issue from stopping him from attacking. JENOVA. It was clear as day from watching both their body languages that either one of them would have trouble fighting back against two Remnant's where one of their agility matched Sephiroth's and the other shared his brutal strength.
But strength isn't everything.
Before a reply to Sephiroth was made, JENOVA spoke up repeating what the angel had just spoken. This was a good sign, for it shown that Sephiroth didn't know the location of the X-Blade nor of a suitable Keybarer worthy to wield it. That again only proved the Remnant Leader's superiority, the smug smirk being hidden well across Kadaj's face as he turned to Loz and nodded his head at him, lowering his gloved hand down from his chest. "I know the location of a suitable Keybarer, so lets go pay them a visit first." He said, loud enough for JENOVA and Sephiroth to hear if they were paying attention. Most likely not. Yet as the One Winged Angel turned as if ready to leave the place, the way he moved slowly only told the Remnant that more was to be discussed, but without either himself or Loz being around. The way JENOVA also turned to face Sephiroth as he walked away proved further that neither of them trusted the Remnant's.
A moment passed and Kadaj noticed that both his enemies had their backs turned towards him. The silver-haired youth held his sword arm twitch slightly, the urge to draw his Souba and unleash the fastest Draw Slash he could do growing ever stronger. But a quick glance towards Loz soon made all desire to vanish yet by time he returned his eyes to JENOVA, he noticed she was staring his way, with such a piercing look that may have effected the weaker minded man... perhaps Loz. Yet this glare, this stare she was giving him only told Kadaj exactly what he needed to know, which wasn't that she wanted him to leave. Instead, it was something much more valuable. The silver-haired youth turned his back upon JENOVA and his mako-enraged eyes landed upon Loz. Watching his brother, Kadaj thought for a moment, his arms folded themselves across his chest before nodding to himself slightly.
"Let's go Loz." Kadaj said, patting the bear-like Remnant on his shoulder before turning tail and walking off down the steps towards JENOVA. Not stopping, he strode past her and headed for Sephiroth. Passing by, the Remnant youth shoved past, deliberately shoving his shoulder into Sephiroth as he muttered some words to him, only loud enough for the 'angel' to hear. "I eagerly await out next encounter. Better say your goodbyes to JENOVA while you have the chance..." Kadaj said as he walked by, not bothering to make eye contact with this pathetic excuse of a brother. Upon reaching the stone balcony, the Remnant jumped over and landed upon the ground below, throwing open a Dark Portal and then waiting for Loz to catch up.
