((OOC: Just a tiny note, Vince. Genesis flew into the air to dodge Omnislash, not teleported. He can't teleport. ^^ ) The battle seemed to be going rather well. Cloud was certainly a magnificent person to cross swords with, wielding both strength as well as agility. The Scarlet SOLDIER could see now why Sephiroth was so obsessed with the blonde, but sadly Genesis also knew that this wasn't the main reason for which the One Winged Angel was obsessed. Perhaps if all those years ago Genesis did not head to the Nibelheim reactor that day, his close friend would not be on the path to ruin and maybe have found better reason to make Cloud his rival. Genesis mentally nodded to himself, reminding to speak to the Chosen One about Cloud when next they met. The worlds of Kingdom Hearts may fear Sephiroth, but not Genesis. The two of them were friends, just as much as Cloud and his allies were. However, there was a time to think about that and it wasn't now, for the provokes and attempts to enrage Strife seemed to slowly be taking effect. It was probably an unnecessary thing to do, but Genesis wanted to see Cloud at his best.
"Fooled?" Genesis repeated with a raised eyebrow. "You sadden me Cloud. I speak words of truth and your heart knows it, just that your head doesn't listen to your heart. True, I may appear to be the 'bug guy' at the moment for wanting to turn this world to Darkness, but I am also testing you." The Scarlet SOLDIER frowned himself now, his once bright and friendly face darkened slightly as the words spoken from the blonde were cold and demanding. Why didn't Cloud listen to anyone? Why was he so ignorant? Didn't he trust anyone at all? What of those 'AVALANCHE' that the Turks mentioned? "You need to start believing in others, Cloud. You cannot fight for everyone and everything on your own. Before you say it, I am not being a hypocrite. Angeal, Zack and even Sephiroth fight on my side... I also have found new allies, new friends I can rely on in times of need. People I can turn to, ask for help, ask for assistance. But what of you? Why are you on your own? Where are your friends?" Asked the Scarlet SOLDIER. Another 'test'? Maybe. There had to be something Cloud would speak about and Genesis was determined to find it. The two men were not enemies, at least in Genesis' mind, but it seemed that Strife would speak more when he had something to fight. A reason to fight.
After mention the Flower Girl's name, Cloud seemed to get more fierce both with words and movements. Good. That meant Genesis had hit a nerve and perhaps now he'd see the blonde cut loose and come at him with more strength. Although he dodged the Omnislash from before, retreating to the skies to get out of range, the Scarlet SOLDIER would have stood his ground and took the blows if he knew Cloud was going to give everything he had. Genesis didn't feel it and thus was the reason he avoided the attack. True, Strife's power increased dramatically an instant before the attack, but it didn't feel like the true power of a SOLDIER. It didn't feel like that attack would have stopped Genesis if he were Sephiroth instead. But what Cloud did next alerted the LOVELESS quoter greatly. Cloud was... running away from Holy?!! That fool!! If that attack hit the ground or a building, it would create serious damage to the Kingdom itself. "CLOUD NO!!!!!" Genesis shouted out, great concern within his tone as the SOLDIER extended his left arm, his hand in a gesture as if going to grab something. Quickly, he clenched his hand into a fist, the leather glove creaking as it tighten about his hand before the Holy exploded within the air. A massive blast of pure Light energy erupted from the attack, shaking the buildings nearby and scorching burn marks upon the ground. Fortunately, that seemed to be the majority of the damage and Genesis sighed in relief. He wasn't the bad guy here... Maybe with that action Cloud might start to realize that?
It was only then that Genesis heard the voice of the blonde coming from behind him, the Scarlet SOLDIER having took his eyes off the ex-'SOLDIER' to stop Holy from turning part of this kingdom into a crater. Whirling around, a few feathers falling from his wing as he did so, Rhapsodos caught sight of Cloud darting vertically up the castle wall, much like he did when jumping over the outer city walls. Cloud's words spoke true and Genesis nodded his head in agreement. "Natural chaos is unavoidable when something as foreign and dangerous as the Heartless show up, but that's only brought about from the one who invited the Darkness here in the first place. The worlds I turn to the Darkness, have their cores changed and that alone. The spirit of the people living within those worlds, the power of their Hearts is enough to large hordes of the stronger Heartless from appearing. True, the lesser critters such as the Shadows continue to linger, but even a child could defeat one of those with the right know how." Genesis answered, knowing his words were more then likely not going to please Strife, so he quickly added on, watching as Cloud neared the top of the wall, getting closer to his own height. "Not that it is my wish to see children fight, but until this war ends... when the 'Human Heartless' are defeated... Hopefully we'll see a permanent balance befall the worlds and all this needless fighting can end. If that doesn't work, then you have my word that I shall stand beside you and fight back the Heartless to return this world to the Light. But for now, I MUST keep the balance steady! This world needs to remain in the Darkness for a while longer. If not for me, Cloud... do it for Cosmos." The Scarlet SOLDIER said, his tone sounding confident, but not cocky or arrogant.
A flash of green light caught his eye and Genesis could only smile as he knew this was it. Business was picking up and it seemed Cloud was going to give all he had now to return this world to the Light. Alright Cloud... lets see what you've got. The Scarlet SOLDIER thought, raising his Rapier up steady and watched as Cloud started to draw near. As he did, Genesis recognized the style the attack from earlier in this engagement and swiftly he flapped his wing to push himself aside out the way, yet at the same time, thrusting his long Rapier forth towards Cloud's gut, aiming another strike to the same wound on his stomach. Whether he hit or missed, Genesis became surprised with the sudden flip over his head. Spinning around quickly, the SOLDIER was just able to raise his Rapier up to block the first part of Double Cut, though when he instantly found himself stumbled for balance the moment the sparks flew from weapon contact, Genesis couldn't help but let out a pain-ridden "Urgh!! as the second strike found his left upper arm. Such power! Genesis opened his eyes as the pain started to ease and found himself tumbling backwards through the air straight towards the castle wall. Gritting his teeth, Genesis extended his wing to act as an air brake to stop himself, but only killed his speed slightly. The SOLDIER crashed into the castle wall, cracking it's surface from the force of impact. The impact also dispelled his wing so when Genesis tumbled out of the crash zone, he plummeted down towards the ground. A thud followed by a cloud of dust, but upon closer inspection, Genesis had landed on his feet, crouched down. Blood seeped out of the wound on his left arm and three on his on his back started to sting now from the impact. The SOLDIER merely glanced at his arm and huffed in disappointment. "Good Cloud, good, but you're going to wreck my coat if I let you you keep that up." Said the SOLDIER as he pushed himself up to his feet with a grunt. He had dropped the Rapier when he crashed into the castle wall, but with a flex of his right arm and a wave of fire later, the long crimson blade was back in his grip. "Alright, that's enough testing on strength. Lets see your defense now. Are you ready?" He said with a pleased smirk.
Was Genesis testing Cloud... or toying with him?

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation? You build up hope, but failure's all you know
[/div][/sub] After passing over Genesis with blades whirling and tempers flared, the winds whistled past him as he fell to the earth. And it was quite a long way down, about as far as he had fallen after he had finished off Bahamut SIN the first time he had faught it. Since he had propelled his way away from the castle walls as he witnessed at least one of his strikes be successful in slamming Genesis in that direction to make impact with it, he was plummeting down to buildings below Genesis had screamed out in alarm not for him to near while Holy had been after him. He had no time to think about why Genesis wanted to show so much concern, as he had to acrobatically flip as he descended the right way to avoid shattering his ankles, knees or leg bones from breaking into any compound fractures upon collision as gravity pulled him back to the earth. As he neared the ground, he held his arms out straight on either side of him, and straightened his legs apart as he whirled into a backwards flip. As earth became sky and sky became earth once more, he leaned forward and bent his arms slightly along with the blades he was holding to prevent the momentum as his boots staggered him slightly upon landing atop of the roof of the nearby inn.
And then his legs gave way underneath him as he sunk to one knee, feeling the painful stab Genesis had applied to his wound catching up to him after he had missed with Braver.
He held his left arm over the wound to staunch any bleeding that may have pulled as he held Vendetta in a backwards grip, forcing himself to get back up on his feet with help of the First Tsurugi's length pushing him back up to regain his balance. A wave of his sword using the curative materia on his person allowed him to wash a green glow of Cura to slightly seal up his wound, and once again after he felt any bleeding would subside for a while, Cloud was more than willing to fight on further. He may have been hurt slightly, but nothing worse than what he'd already taken in combat before. With a slight grunt after pulling himself to his feet, he looked over quickly back to Genesis over at the castle wall. He still sensed him there, when he expected to have seen him gone from his position with how instantaneous that wing made him be. He had finally landed a blow against him and made him crack the castle wall, but it may be one of the only few blows he would successfully strike before this battle saw it's conclusion.
Angeal was only thing he knew about the man that had beaten him and Tseng into submission when he was just a mere infantryman that could 'barely hold his rifle straight', before it was known throughout Shinra that Zack had not choice but to kill him in confrontation. So was he really back? The only thing he doubted more was that Genesis claimed Zack was working with him, which he knew would never be true even if he had come back as well. The only thing he could trust beyond reasonable doubt was that he was working with Sephiroth, perhaps the only truth in the words that may as well be lies or twisted truths spewed forth from his mouth. He could recognise their manner from Genesis trying to confuse or infuriate him, the same manner Sephiroth often prodded and poked claiming control over him or threatening his loved ones in order to rouse him.
He would not dignify them with an answer.
But still he went on, countering just as swiftly with words as he did with his raiper. The claim he made that the citizens here had strong enough hearts to ward off the hordes of Heartless was founded, but Genesis was right that the thought that a child having to fight one off did not please him. A displeased frown remained on his face as the thought that Denzel could now fight off one, but what if it was Marlene? "Don't tell me what I should do for Cosmos. You don't know the first thing about her... or me." He stood on the roof of the inn adjacent to the castle wall, watching Genesis carefully as he got up before he made his next move. He was too concerned about convincing Cloud he was on his side, but there was too much to gain with trust as a benefit that the spike-haired blond could not trust him. "I don't care what you think. Just because you don't see my friends, doesn't mean my friends don't help me. But you know that. And they would agree... even Zack... that Heartless or no Heartless, bringing darkness to a world where light is it's natural state is not right. Strong of heart... or not... there's no light that burns here that doesn't prove this kingdom fled from the darkness they feared. This world shouldn't matter if it's restored to the light that was theirs if it was here before... and when it does, then you really can prove everything can come to an end."
Not that the end would ever happen that way.
Then he moved. He jumped off the building by leaping down across the distance between them, landing just before Genesis as both swords in his hands began to swing. Once around his hands rotating in opposite directions, cutting off Genesis if he tried to dodge left or right before swinging down with both blades that he anticipated Genesis would raise in defense. "You can stop pretending to be on my side," he paused, keeping Vendetta held before him while swinging First Tsurugi in a wide horizontal arc into his side. "... and stop lying to me and yourself that you are my mentor here..." As First Tsurugi swing with the second hit, he brought the wide blade before him as a shield while he stabbed forward with Vendetta in a different variation of Cross Slash. "...because you have given me nothing but your word to trust you. So excuse me if I don't take it." he answered as he took a deep breath, jumping back as he finished cornering Genesis with the final blow. He felt more calm and reserved that he could do anything now, even defeat Genesis and make sure that the people of this kingdom could have a light to come back to that didn't make the Heartless seem so fearful.
Darkness was not the sunny and vibrant world Cecil described it as, and he would not let Genesis disgrace Aerith's and Zack's name. This wasn't some game to him. Not something to be tested with, or an indecision between that and knocking the imbalance out that would supposedly bring a sudden end to everything. It didn't sit right with the 'puppet', and the only truth was the truth he believed was right and not one presented to him. This world had been in Light before and everything had not met it's end, and he would see to it through to the finish it would return that way.

Genesis bent his knees slightly, lowering himself down towards the ground a little before he reached an arm back behind his body, a crimson glove taking hold of the end of his long coat, before the SOLDIER spread his left out out as if he was holding the coat as if to try catch the wind and fly away. However, the Scarlet SOLDIER simply glanced under his arm and sighed a second time as the sight of the three large slashes across where it covers his back. It was a complete honour when Genesis was promoted to First Class, being given the privilege to use his own choice of weapon as well as garments to wear. Angeal stuck with basic SOLDIER attire but he did bring along the Buster Sword. Sephiroth joined Genesis in wearing clothing to express what he was like. Now to see the three large cuts within the red material... it kinda upset the LOVELESS fan. This was his favourite coat after all. Yet the SOLDIER merely loosened his grip and waited till the falling material came to a rest against the backs of his calves.
Some blood was trickling down his arm from that slice Cloud had managed to get in, but it was only a scratch. No amount of physical wounds that Strife could deal to the SOLDIER would ever stack up to the experience of slowly and helplessly degrading over time. It was like being eaten from inside out, a utterly incurable disease. It helped Genesis become as tough as he was too, not to mention the JENOVA Cells within his body that started the whole degradation process off in the first place. Glancing back in Strife's direction, the warm glow of a recognizable Materia caught the SOLDIER's attention. Cloud was healing himself. You had enough already? I only struck your stomach. Perhaps you don't have what it takes... Thought the Scarlet SOLDIER, his grip upon the handle of his Rapier tightened as he tilted his head off to his right and then left, loosening himself up a little. A reply came from the blonde at last and again it was of hardly anything worth while. Just Strife continuing to show how selfish and anti-social he was. Genesis closed his eyes for a moment as he shook his head from side to side, bright blue eyes revealing themselves again as he returned his gaze to the ex-SOLDIER.
"True, all I know about you is what I've read in ShinRa reports. You're much different in real life... but answer me this. You say I don't know you... but does ANYONE know you?" Genesis asked, curiosity within his tone as he raised his Rapier to point it in Cloud's direction when he posed his question. It was more then likely something Sephiroth had said in the past and Genesis tilted his head at the thought of it. Was it Sephiroth who stood before Strife now? Was the Scarlet SOLDIER acting the same as his old friend? The thought indeed raised questions and Genesis actually glanced skywards as he raised up his free hand to start tapping his own chin a few times. When the next words left Cloud's lips, Genesis returned to reality and listened carefully, taking a few paces forth as he did so, leaving the small cracked crater behind him so he could stand on firmer ground to prepare for Strife's next attack. "You don't care? I'd have thought someone of your standing and strength would listen to the words of one who is trying to help. Your choices are your own though Cloud and if you're too stupid to understand the truth, then I shall simply have to remove you from this world by force!! You cannot call yourself a Warrior of Cosmos if you don't listen to her own advice!! She told me of the impending danger!! I am simply trying to spread the world, but you, like every other user of the Light are too stubborn to listen to me, just because I 'am of the Darkness'!! Your ignorance and arrogance will destroy you, Strife!!!" Genesis was furious, easily identifiable by how he was now shouting at the ex-ShinRa employee. Why did no one ever believe him? Why did everyone believe the Darkness was the enemy? Why does everyone feel that Light can survive without Darkness? It cannot!! There must always be both! Two sides on every coin! Light and Dark, the Sun and the shadows it casts...
Cloud came forth with a wide sweeping slice of both blades from 2 directions, but Genesis had had enough! No more testing. No more games. The Scarlet SOLDIER will send Cloud packing! Rhapsodos leaped backwards as the first part of Cross Slash whizzed past. As Cloud readied the First Tsurugi to attack again, Genesis flipped within the air and twisted himself around, his coat flailing behind him as he did so, before kicking himself off the castle wall, ascending high enough so the horizontal swing from Strife sailed underneath. Genesis rotated his body in a forward flip as he passed over the First Tsurugi, extending his right leg as he came around to swing down a powerful axe kick from over his head, though a loud metallic 'clank' rung in Genesis' ears as he felt his martial art attack connect with the 'shield' that was Cloud's sword. The stab forth from Vendetta sliced across Genesis' waist but he didn't flinch as he landed from his front flip, executing a furious left armed jab punch towards the bridge of Cloud's nose, Genesis throwing all his strength into it seeing as he was now standing much to close to cause any damage with his Rapier. Not pausing to see the results, Genesis tucked his left arm back into his waist where a bright fiery glow suddenly burst out from his enclosed fist. Eyes drawn narrow, teeth clenched in anger, Genesis threw his palm back out towards Cloud's chest as he unleashed a barrage of Flash spells within close range. At least another 8 Flashes were launched at the SOLDIER and as Genesis jumped backwards, retreating back towards the castle wall, he swung his arm a second time. Another 8 Flashes burst out from the Scarlet SOLDIER's palm, though these ones traveled up and over Cloud, before pivoting tightly to swing around and attempt to smash into his back.
"I didn't want it to come to this Cloud!! You're an honest man with good intentions, but you leave me no choice if you won't listen!!" Then came another LOVELESS quote, though it sounded strange... different, seeing as how enraged the Scarlet SOLDIER was. "There is no hate, only joy, For you are beloved by the goddess. Hero of the dawn, Healer of worlds, Dreams of the morrow hath the shattered soul. Pride is lost, Wings stripped away, the end is nigh!!"

Remember all the sadness and frustration And let it go; let it go
[/div][/sub] As wide-sweeping and powerful as his strikes were, Genesis flipped over him to avoid them. One of his hits found home on his opponent's torso, just before the renegade SOLDIER used his sword as a stepping stone while using it to anticipate a block. It was quite the irony that Genesis had tried to rile up Cloud with his words, only to become angered over Cloud's unwavering resolve to be affected by them. As the battle progress and his power heightened, a calm resolve was passing over him as he gradually convinced himself of many reasons to fight. Thus his anger was a sudden surprise, expecting Genesis to wield his rapier with deadly efficiency when instead his fist with all his power behind it smashed into his face. His head recoiled to the side from the blow, blood spilling from a cut lip and a gash running down the bridge of his nose.
Next came his Flash spell, and this Cloud was more prepared for. At close range it was more difficult to dodge, but already holding his First Tsurugi up before himself to defend, it was more easier to block. Guarding against the first round of them as the one-winged angel launched himself backwards to the castle wall again, Cloud finally lowered his blades and formulated a quick idea to negate most of the homing fireballs arced around him. Pushing down into the pavement below him while still facing Genesis, he leapt into the air towards the Flares. Still arcing around behind him through the air, he filled the negative space within the arc as they came back towards him as he span his blades around him to deflect them. It worked to some degree, as most of the Flares either couldn't turn around in the air to hit him or were parried by his blades except for two large Flares that struck him in the chest.
Now he had his opportunity.
For the most part he had disregarded what Genesis had said, not just recently before he rushed him but throughout this entire battle. Not taking every word seriously because of the jibes and taunts he recognized, but that was different to the fact he had heard every word Genesis had said. "Knowing yourself is hard... if you're asking someone else for the answer." he answered Genesis, turning the question back on him. As he came out of his spin, he changed his tragectory as gravity pulled him back to the earth. Slashing Blow came next, slashing with Vendetta and First Tsurugi as he came down on Genesis from above.
"No, you're the one not listening. Was a Warrior of Cosmos, never said I was still one." He landed before the LOVELESS quoter, but he only had the First Tsurugi in his hand as he rolled towards Genesis and leaped once more. Passing Genesis he struck upwards, grabbing Vendetta which he had thrown above Genesis, striking him with it in another downwards vertical slash as he launched the other blades around him again and initiating Omnislash Level Five once more.
He tracked after Genesis as he increased speed and passed arround him with four more strikes, landing a final time upon it's execution. "I doubt Cosmos would want you to do this, forcing darkness upon a world that doesn't want it. Besides, that was your interpretation to plunge populated worlds into darkness. I don't fight you because you are of the darkness... but because of the way you're messing with the worlds. If you think you don't have a choice, then you believe this world doesn't have one either. And that isn't right." His blades rained around him to the earth, and with as swing of his First Tsurugi and a click after flash of brilliant white light, the blades reformed back around the Main Blade to become First Tsurugi again. He leaped back, preparing to power up his next attack as he charged the ex-SOLDIER once more.
"What I believe is the only reality. There is always a choice... I just don't agree with yours."

The impact of first upon face created a sound that the Scarlet SOLDIER was not expecting, mostly because he wasn't expecting the blow to land in the first place. Luck seemed to be in his favor for the time being though and the crack that echoed throughout his ears followed by the crimson that appeared upon Strife's face, didn't exactly please the LOVELESS SOLDIER, but would nevertheless aid him in his plight to making Cloud try and see the truth. Angeal was the only one who eventually saw things the way Genesis did and it was perhaps their strong friendship was a factor in that. Genesis had yet to inform Sephiroth of what he told Strife, and quite frankly, the Scarlet SOLDIER would expect nothing but a humoured laugh come in reply. So that must have been it, well, of course it was. Who would trust someone that tried to destroy the world and hurt your friends? Typical, the Light was so narrow-sighted and Cloud's own ego would result in his death, as well as the deaths of those he cherished and loved.
It wasn't just Cloud though, it was ALL the Light. That meant that going after Cloud's friends to make him see the truth would be a waste of time, plus that were something the Scarlet SOLDIER wouldn't stoop down to doing in the first place. So then what? Was it simply just going to be the case of defeating him in combat and merely asking once again for the ex-SOLDIER to trust him? But Cloud didn't trust anyone, right? True the ShinRa reports were old and outdated and most of them were written by Hojo anyway making them complete gibberish at times, but still... Cloud did have a point with the words he spoke. Regardless, Genesis waited to see the result of his Flash projectiles, of which the first wave hit nothing but that large sword and the second wave meeting a similar end when being swatted out the air when Strife jumped up to attack then. Two of the fiery projectiles exploded into his figure though but at least 5-6 of them were needed to cause any moderate damage. No matter, they were merely distractions, just as much as Cloud was being to Genesis' goal. A minor distraction. Genesis was still furious however, knowing that Cloud along with a good handful of the Light would never believe the words he spoke, even if they came from Cosmos' lips in the first place.
Lifting his Rapier up to eye level, the auburn-haired male raised his left arm to the blade before running it down the flat edge. Runes are unknown markings appeared down it's entire length before the majestic weapon gained a bright red aura, the weapon lighting up completely as if it were on fire. Imbue Sword was a trick Genesis had up his sleeve to add strength to his attacks. It also made it slightly harder to break through his guard and knowing Cloud and that sword he wielded, the Scarlet SOLDIER would need whatever aid he could muster. Or did he? Was Cloud really worth the trouble? True, he had a SOLDIER's strength and agility, but he wasn't a true, pure blooded SOLDIER like The Three Heroes and Zack were. "If you don't know yourself, then what is the point in carrying on? You say you're not a Warrior of Cosmos, but I feel the Light within your heart, as well as the Darkness lingering in there as well. Is it perhaps that YOU who doesn't know yourself? Are you sure you know what you want? What you want to do? And if you're fighting against a messenger of Cosmos, that would surely put you on Discord's side, no? What's to say that even if you beat me, this world will still not turn to the Darkness regardless?" Genesis seemed to have calmed down from the tone of his voice, but his grip upon the handle of his Rapier was knuckle-white. Inside he was still enraged, angered that only he and Cosmos knew of the threat this war was bringing and how everyone else was too ignorant to see it.
Red sparks flew off the Rapier as Genesis swiftly swung the weapon accurately before him, smashing it twice into Cloud, first meeting Vendetta and secondly colliding with First Tsurugi. There would be no more chances for the ex-fake-SOLDIER to get in anymore blows. The only way to stop the balance of Light and Dark from collapsing in on itself was to defeat Strife and send him on his merry way. Genesis would be standing ready, weapon drawn to prevent Cloud from taking back this world for the Light. Make that Cloud and anyone else of the Light who felt like testing his luck. Genesis wasn't one of the top three SOLDIER's to ever grace the ranks of ShinRa for no reason and he'd prove that here and now. Strife rolled forth, swinging that massive blade upwards that only sliced into Genesis' coat as he side stepped out of harms way. Bright blue eyes were locked onto the young man as he watched him jump into the air, the falling Vendetta returning to his grip. "I'm sorry Cloud. You cannot walk away from this fight until you realize the truth. I will leave your body broken and battered before night falls across this land, giving you the chance to rethink my words that came from Cosmos herself. Seek the Goddess out yourself if you doubt me further." As Cloud whirled around him to start off a move already used within this match, Genesis matched him and span around, bringing his Imbued Rapier forcefully into the weapon held in Cloud's hands. Twice more were the LOVELESS quoter able to catch Cloud and deflect any damage, but once the forth strike came in, the Scarlet SOLDIER was left helpless as his blade sailed harmlessly in the wrong direction. A grunt left his lips as the remaining blows hit him with incredible force, the final strike smashing him into the ground to create a similar crater like the one he left within the castle wall.
No second chances though, for the moment Genesis felt his body slam into the ground beneath him, the SOLDIER rocketed straight back up into the air, his Imbued Rapier slashing out dangerously six times as a Dancing Sword Counter was unleashed. Two hard diagonal strikes from right to left then left to right, followed with three fast thrusts towards Cloud's stomach, left thigh and then his neck. With no floor to stab the Rapier into to finish off the combo, Genesis eyed that large sword Cloud seemed to favour using as a shield and thus set the final blow deliberately towards that instead. If impact was made, the shockwave would be released and hopefully blast the blonde pest away. Allowing gravity to claim his mass, Genesis returned to the ground where he landed gracefully, eyes peering skywards to see what had become of Strife. "My friend, do you fly away now? To a world that abhors you and I? All that awaits you is a somber morrow, No matter where the winds may blow."

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation? You've built up hope, but failure's all you've known
[/div][/sub] Dragging both his blades along the stone pavement beneath their feet, orange sparks flew as Cloud continued to charge Zack's eternal nemesis. He had to give it to Genesis's absence all these years from their home world that it had contributed towards his insanity, for he seemed so blinded by the concepts of Light and Darkness that he didn't seem to see the real truth. Had he really actually seen Cosmos, the goddess of harmony, or just pretended he did from Cloud's musings? Although, he supposed that someone that had been wandering his world and then others alone would never understand what it means to protect someone they hold dear, or what matters. The lives of people mattered more than Light and Darkness, not some pretense that the worlds would come to an end like they had before.
Genesis imbued his weapon with some kind of fire magic, and now more than everit was go time as the battle intensified. More mind games were uttered about him not knowing himself still, and Cloud wondered if the crimson cloaked male liked the sound of his own voice more than he listened to him. Cloud had already spoken his resolve that he would continue to fight, even if he second-guessed himself he would find a reason to fight. He already spoke of that he already had one, and he was not going to repeat himself again should it go through Genesis's ears and out the other side. He just took his speech as more attempts to knock him off his game, another reason not to trust his antagonistic nature. "Just because you claim to take the advice of a goddess... doesn't make you a messenger of Cosmos. I'll stop you from keeping this world in the dark, otherwise you wouldn't be here fighting me." he countered assuringly, as he closed in on him and crossed swords with his Rapier.
Maybe he wasn't a true SOLDIER, and also already spoken, that was fine with him. Hadn't Genesis deserted SOLDIER before him, knowing of Shinra's deception? So had Angeal, then Sephiroth after him before Zack. If Genesis understood anything about what the true gift of the goddess was, at least one of it's interpretations, was you didn't need to be in SOLDIER to have the honor of a true SOLDIER, or else no-one after them would have been able to join the SOLDIER ranks. SOLIDER didn't mean a rank, title or even how powerful a candidate could be. Then again, Cloud was glad he hadn't made the mark to join a praised military unit that ended up being the tools of a corrupted electric company turned government while still having what it took to be in SOLDIER now.
As Genesis dodged his upwards slash with the Main Blade, it was wise of him to do so. However, it seemed the former First-Class had underestimated the former SOLDIER 'failure'. Even though he had failed to meet the rankings of SOLDIER as he previously dreamed of as his career, he still possessed that inner strength his body was still currently exuding that along with Zack, had matched and even bested the First-Classes like Sephiroth time and time again. His The Power of Mako! form allowed his First Tsurugi to break through any guards or blocks including his Slashing Blow previously delivered... and Omnislash Version Five he had just used. Reguardless of if Genesis raised his blade to deflect the blows or not, Cloud had smashed through Genesis as he delivered each one. He had continued the blows, even while Genesis had been ranting on about Cosmos and how the end of this battle would come as he had planned it out.
As the final blows of Omnislash Version Five struck Genesis, the aura surrounding Cloud intensfied as he connected Vendetta back on to complete the First Tsurugi, holding the combination of the fusion swords in both hands while running a hand over the blade as Genesis had done. This allowed an opening for Genesis's deadly combo to connect, coming too fast to counter and block completely while he was charging. The First Tsurugi would block the first two horizontal slashes as his weapon was held over his body, but then the next few stabs into his stomach would pierce through his shirt. The rapier would then continue to impale through his left thigh, and slice a nice thin gouge across the side of his neck. Finally the attack on his weapon had been a smart move given that, Cloud gasping out a brief "No-!" before the shockwave sent him flying backwards right into the same impact crack in the castle wall Cloud had made Genesis do.
The outcry had been justified, as the force of the new hero had thrown Cloud through the fracture, creating a hole in it's wake. Picking himself up as the minor Regen effect allowed him to stop the gut wound he had been cradling, narrowed mako-blue eyes found Genesis. No moment than ever before had convinced Cloud that the one-winged angel was a misguided destroyer more than a enlightened benefactor, and he charged back through the hole with his blade lanced out before him highlighted in a intensifying blue aura as Braver. Energy still building up in his coiled musular frame, he instantaneously followed up with a series of fourteen combo swings followed by a fifteenth that hit six times. Omnislash was Cloud's true potential and would see to it if Genesis did not care for the state of this world over the many, he would leave him battered and bruised on the very floor of these castle grounds as 'G' had previously stated even if he would also never change his opinionated mind.
"I will ask her, and only then if it's the truth will I find another reason than spreading darkness... to stop this 'end' you preach of."
He stood resolutely in place after the Limit had ended, lowering his sword and remaining as still as a statue as The Power of Mako faded, a calm settling in to replace it after the energy he had exuded had absconded from his heart.
"Now, leave this world in peace... or you leave in pieces."

After a lot of Voting on the winner, we have chosen that the Light would have won this battle.
The Light has captured the Blue Planet!
Since Cloud Strife has won, he is allowed an upgrade of one ability or one modification to his powers and will be notified. Requests are to be PMed to Vincent. Congrats!
