Raid #2

Post by Ysera on Sept 29, 2011 13:57:07 GMT -5
Having been told the details, Ysera moved quickly throughout the town of Cornelia. She was to take back this place from whatever evil was taking over the place. On her side were three others that had looked kind of different. Certainly the man named Laguna looked normal, but not for this world. The other two wore clothes much like the man back in the Giza Plains, but that didn’t tell anything about their combat strength and experience. Also one didn’t really always have to fight.
It was just a preference, she assumed. Instead of fighting wars, Ysera liked to hunt animals and such, but she had been in these kinds of combats before. Even fights between entire groups, but no wars so far. Having left the rest to rush towards the castle, she hoped the others would catch up soon.
The huntress was a ranged fighter, so tried to keep her distance in case she did find an opponent. From the corners of her eyes, she kept looking around the houses. She then moved to the side and let her wings flap as she took off the ground.
Going into the air, Ysera moved to the roof of a house on the side of the road. Apparently this was some sort of weapons shop, but the place was deserted from its civilians. She then flew quickly down again as she headed for Castle Cornelia, expecting the villains to be hanging around the throne or something.
[OOC: Wondered what people preferred, a town or a castle. With my post, I thought I'd let Garland decide whether he's destroying Cornelia's throne room or the local shops. Anyhow, have fun!]

Raid #2

Cornelia's castle. While the Chaos Shrine was where his true purpose was revealed to him, this old castle was where it started for him. Here, he was a former knight of the people of Cornelia, fighting valiantly against the wrongs of his day. He fought in wars for this land, battled many an enemy, helped bring the Kingdom to a fleeting peace. Yet soon, he learned that all of that was meaningless. The Great Will had shown him that his existence would only be one devoted to Chaos, to follow him faithfully, and then finally take his place as the God of Discord when the time had finally called for it. That was his destiny, he knew that well. Such prior allegiances to this land meant nothing to him anymore. His fellow countrymen were nothing but insects to him now, who would soon feel the power of the Master of Bedlam when he rose once more to grasp all the lands in his mighty hands. Anything else was but a trifling by comparison.
Yet, when he learned that there were talks of Heroes coming to Cornelia, he decided that he would bring together his group to find them and see if they proved worthy to die by his steel, not out of a desire to preserve this place doomed to fade, but to quench his thirst for battle. If there was anything that could satisfy him, it was a mighty conflict. Perhaps these fools would be able to extinguish his boredom, if only for a while. He decided he would be sure to let them know where he was.
Garland marched through the courtyard of Cornelia, as he had done before in his younger years, only now with a much more sinister intention, and found little resistance he could not handle. The peasants had already retreated to their homes, as if they could provide a suitable challenge and all that was left were the soldiers. The guards put up a valiant effort, attempting to stop him from breaching the castle walls, yet their bravado was for naught. Garland tore through them with little issue. He heard the cries as his sword ripped into their flesh, of how once he was a knight for this kingdom, a loyal servant to the throne, how they were once brothers in war. He simply dispatched them, and continued on his path. He felt no pity for the weak, not anymore. He stopped in front of the castle entrance, examining the old doors he had used so many times before as a knight to Cornelia, and slammed his sword through it, creating a chasm for him to walk through, and passed the threshold into the castle halls.
More fools ran to Garland, brandishing their knives and yelling obscenities, yet soon, they met the same fate as their comrades. The Nemesis found little joy in bringing doom on to these folk, not out of a sense of remorse, but simply because they brought little challenge. He remembered the days of conflict he had with neighboring nations, as even then, he had a love for battle, and of all the battles he had with the Warriors of Light, and felt disappointed that he could only find these whelps. He demanded stronger foes, not Cornelia's militia. However, at the very least, the death of all of these useless bystanders would hopefully clear the battlefield of the weak so that the battle between the two forces would only shine brighter. At the very least, Garland would have something to occupy him if the warriors did not appear.
The dark warrior strided confidently into the throne room, ending the lives of two other guards who stood in his way. His gaze took a cursory glance around the familiar hall, and saw that nothing had changed. Still the same room he had seen so long ago. He could almost see the king welcoming him back on that fateful day where he took his daughter to the Chaos Shrine, and how that joy then eventually led to rage that would soon lead to the Light Warriors presence.Of course, the king wasn't here, nor his family. He wouldn't dare stay and fight it it meant his daughter was in danger, he knew that well. He would send others, obviously. Perhaps the warriors he was about to face would give him an equal amount of a challenge as the light warriors. Unlikely, of course. They were most likely mercenaries, nothing more, nothing less.
Garland turned away from the throne, looking back toward the door. He waited for his allies and his-soon-to-be-enemies to appear. Hopefully, they would appreciate what he had done with the castle.

Raid #2

Laguna patrolled through the town, his machine gun. He liked Cornelia, as old-timey as the place was and how difficult it was to fine spare ammo. He patted the back of his head as he looked at the food stalls, his stomach growling something fierce. Easy, Laguna. First you get the money. THEN you get the food. He smiled to himself. If only Kiros and Ward were with him. He always had a fun time joking with those two, even if Kiros was a bit uptight and Ward couldn't joke back any more. The two people who were with him were dressed in suits and looked really snazzy and official. Laguna wondered if they were any good in a fight, but he supposed he'd find out. The other guy with them was really strange. For one thing, he had wings. But again, the reporter figured he'd learn more about the winged guy when the time came. The townspeople stared at Laguna's weapon of choice, unable to understand what he was holding. Laguna either ignored them or was oblivious to the stares.
Several loud noises came from the castle suddenly, jarring Laguna out of his hunger-induced trance. He looked back at the others and yelled, "Come on! Sounds like our targets are starting up trouble without us!" He cocked his gun and ran off to the castle, eager to kick these villains out of this world. He eventually made it into the castle and looked on at the massacre. Sure, he was part of the Galbadian military, but he never liked bloodshed. Call him a technical pacifist or a pansy, but Laguna liked a carefree life better than one full of war. Laguna kept going until he reached the throne room and found an armored man standing there with a giant sword. It took Laguna awhile, but then he realized who it was.
"Garland?! You again? Sheesh, I thought we took care of you back in Cosmos's Realm. You just don't give up, do ya?! Laguna aimed his gun at the former general, ready for any funny business. "Well, you're not going to win this time with... uhh... whatever it is you're planning!" Laguna was never very good with one-liners.

He is currently locked in this body before battle, at the cost he can't use any of Vincent's weapons, materia or other limits. In addition, at my consent, Kefka has enslaved Chaos!Vincent with the Slave Crown to do his bidding. No attempt will be made yet to remove the Slave Crown from his head. Thank you.)
The Gria was not the only one with wings, and if would not be the last demonoid on the face of this world.
Up above, it's speed tearing crimson red across blue like a dagger slicing across a shift, the red streak was traveling so fast through the sky the sonic reverberations of it's wings made it sounds like the scream of a jet engine. The streak the aura left behind by the dark shape in the sky curved over to land on one of the towers on top of Cornelia Castle, and in the process as it's feet landed, several pieces of rubble consisting of broken stone and tiling crumbled off the roof as the silhouette collided with it. Upon touchdown, the being now only known as Chaos from Gaia lifted it's wings that had slumped about it like a cape, watching as the debris crumbled down onto the startled and frightened citizens below watching his arrival. In reflection, the demon looked to a nearby window, gazing at it's own reflection. A twitch of pain in his mind suddenly opened up to become a painful splitting headache as the harbinger felt Valentine struggling to gain control in response to the innocent at risk, once enormous clawed hand grasping it's forehead in the palm of it's hand while the other lashed out at the wall it was standing next to.
Pain. Hurting... stop!
Face it, human. You are strong in body, and of mind. But you are too weak to stop the crude turning of fate's wheel.
Vincent did not want this. Chaos within his mind seemed calm, almost eerie at peace at the havoc he was reaping. Vincent understood this... Chaos, as a reaper for Omega, was indifferent to all walks of life on Gaia when it came to collecting their souls to add to the giant WEAPON. It made no difference to Chaos if people lived or died, but Vincent was strongly opposed. Not only from a obvious moral standpoint, but also because of the fact that his visage of transforming into Chaos in the bright sunlight meant people fearing his ultimate form when it was meant to be used for good. Not only would it possibly bring more enemies he did not need or mean to make, but the people he hurt or killed in this warzone he was creating would forever make a shockwave of pain and suffering upon the innocent... people as a human being he felt compelled to protect from such adversity. With every action and even good intentions there would come consequence, and once the damage had been done, Vincent couldn't begin to think of how this time he could ever wash the blood clean from his hands and find redemption for his atrocities.
More dangerous slate and concrete became an avalanche down upon the castle town below, and left behind was a perfectly deep claw mark, like the one left behind in Cid's airship after Vincent fought a mental battle with Chaos. Chaos did not like this one bit either, and yet it was indifferent to the loss of life that Valentine protested against strongly. He had awoken to a body that was no longer his own, his conscious thoughts at the beck and call of a murderous joker that had bested him. Two minds were now fighting for dominance inside the vessel, but no-one was at the wheel. Chaos made a deep gut-wrenching growl as it felt it's own body lurch unexpectedly through the window, another involuntary action it had no control over, as he had been ordered by Kefka to enter the castle of this world and destroy the kingdom from the inside out.
These warriors of Light they were fighting...Valentine hoped they'd better be strong enough to take out Chaos and take out one of the mental blocks that were preventing him from regaining control.
The order did not seem to regard patience, only the shortest route, as the semi-WEAPON smashed through the floors of the tower and through the ceiling of the throne room. Rock and dust fell behind him as Chaos landed upon the floor of the interior of the castle next to Garland, and slowly rose once more, unfolding it's wings and flaring them out intimidatingly once more. The corrupted knight was recognized as a foe to the minds within, and yet Chaos regarded him as if he were not there. As for the two in the room however, there was only one thing he had been commanded to do to them as he identified the lack of the stench of darkness in their hearts.
Pain. Darkness. Suffocating....
Their lives are forfeit, meaningless. You can't fight me and this device that enslaves our will.. it is no different to the Protomateria you use to compress me. Yet there was only a problem when you lose control as well... your fear, your compassion for others makes you weak."
"Destroy... must... destroy all... foes..." Chaos said with blank reluctance, and suddenly brought up it's weapon Death Penalty to line up a shot at the human male and the Gria. There was a loud exploding sound, and a devastating beam of negative energy lanced out across the expanse of the floor. Chaos began walking forward slowly, as if a Shinra drone, when it dramatically altered it's speed as it took off from it's position to fly forward at a wicked speed, attempting to grab Laguna with one arm and slam him violently into the stone floor.
Throbbing... intense... no! ....grraaahh!!!
You cannot fight this. Let us return their energies to the heart of the worlds. Such is their fate... such is ours to walk the eternal cycle of life and death. We will be free from this mental shackle in due course, but until then what ever these mortals have fought for, their lives have little meaning in the grand scheme of the infinite stream's flow. All order, all reason and thought in their existence... will be made unto nothing."

Raid #2

Post by Tseng on Oct 7, 2011 13:04:45 GMT -5
[Well, let's see if I can not die today and practice fighting. Good luck, everyone.] ---- Tseng had been approached by the Gria before the battle had even started. The girl had asked if he would help fight to win back a world. The Turk had only heard whispers of the wars that were going on and, in a way, he was curious. So against his better judgment, he agreed to go and help to the best of his ability. If Rufus asked, it was purely research. He was not going on any missions with the President's approval.
So there he was, walking with a man he learned was named Laguna, the Turk Jordan he knew had recently left the hospital with an unusable eye, and the winged female, who he knew as Ysera. Hopefully they were stronger then they looked.
As the group proceeded to walk through the town, he took note of the building structures. The area reminded him much of Kalm. That is until he saw the castle in the background. It was much like the near in Radiant Garden. However, this building wasn't in as much disrepair. It was a nice town, though the turk found it odd the it was so quiet, everything practically abandoned.
That's when he started to hear loud noises signaling a fight in the distance. Laguna was the first to respond to the noises by stating they were coming from the direction of the castle. Tseng wasn't sure about the rest of the group, but he picked up speed to keep up with Laguna, drawing his gun in the process. Within a short amount of time, they had made it to the scene, bodies lying about them, dead. Tseng showed not an ounce of emotion as he followed Laguna. He had seen plenty of people die before, and had been the cause. This wasn't anything compared to that as he wasn't the one to cause it.
When Laguna started to speak, it was obvious that he had met the metal-clad man before. Tseng hadn't met the man named Garland before and was not prepared. He had no knowledge of his powers or anything. It was not something Tseng enjoyed. But, he would just have to learn and avoid that being. But Tseng had learned very quickly that Laguna wasn't good with words.
While all that was going on, the Turk started to hear noises like something was collapsing and he wasn't sure what the noise was. He held his gun calmly with both hands as another being came crashing through the ceiling of the room, Tseng took a calculated step back to assess the situation. That's when his eyes landed on the creature as it unfurled it's wings. The Turk knew him, the shoes, the claws, his face.... his eyes. "Valentine?" Was he there to help them? If so, they would be helpful.
However, the Director was more then wrong when an odd voice spoke up. Chaos had to have taken control. When Vincent lifted his arm, gun in hand, Tseng didn't have a lot of time to respond. "Laguna!" He shifted to the side, out of the way of Vincent's shots toward the Gria and Laguna. He then darted squarely at Laguna. This was not going to be an easy battle.
Tseng shot with both hands after raising his gun, feet positioned just right so he didn't feel any recoil at all. He had fired a few rounds at Vincent, hoping it would distract him. However, Tseng lowered the gun when Vincent got too close to Laguna. He didn't want to hit Laguna accidentally.
How were they supposed to fight Vincent without killing him in the process?

Raid #2

Post by skycoston on Oct 10, 2011 13:01:27 GMT -5
The Kingdom Of Cornelia.
Once upon a time this had been the strongest foothold of the light, its centerpiece long before Order’s Sanctuary of the more recent Disney Castle. It was here where a prophecy came true of the light’s four greatest heroes emerging to save the kingdom from the grip of darkness.
Since then its greatest heroes vanished, and it once again fell into the hands of darkness. Without its former heroes, it was abandoned by the light and the once proud symbol of its radiance was lost seemingly forever while other worlds such as Gaia took its place as the centerpiece of light’s power. The light didn’t even attempt to gain it back, forsaking its former capital to become one of the dark’s most important strongholds.
Now, the world found itself once again in conflict. Not between light and dark however, but between the dark and the recently aggressive neutral. With how divided the dark had been, it seemed like a rather easy victory for the neutral, but they didn’t expect the new union within the dark.
Immediately upon his return, Kefka wasted no time in waging war with the light. He swiftly realized how unified it had become, and that unless the dark was unified it wouldn’t stand a chance. He began to reform the Warriors of Chaos, and though he had his own agenda it gave them allies to protect the plans of all involved within the team. Garland took advantage of this, calling Kefka to arms to defend his homeland; possibly the second most important hold of the darkness.
The Genocidal Jester had returned home to his tower in the World of Ruin after a successful battle against Vincent Valentine, who had been consumed by the SemiWEAPON Chaos. Kefka had quickly became interested in his power, and after testing him Kefka placed the Slave Crown upon his head. This gave Kefka total control over the SemiWEAPON, and the Warriors of Chaos a powerful new ally. After taking Chaos back to his tower, Kefka healed him and prepared to head to the Edge of Madness. Before he could head out, Garland sent out the call to defend Cornelia and Kefka quickly obliged.
After Kefka opened a portal of darkness into the kingdom, Chaos sped ahead of Kefka to the castle. Meanwhile the jester carelessly skipped through the town, dissatisfied by the lack of ruined buildings and screaming people he’d hoped to find in a town held by the darkness. His first instinct was to burn the town to the ground, but if Garland wished this it would already be so. Despite his ultimate goal, he couldn’t afford to ruin the union he’d recently created. So, in disgust Kefka made his way to the castle.
“Ugh, reminds me of that pathetic Emperor Gestahl! Stupid, STUPID man, couldn’t even stick to the plan! That’s why now he’s lower than lower than dirt, he’s gone! He’s dead, his castle is too! One day you will be destroyed too, my dear, but for now I’ll protect you in order to forward my plans. Yes, a little sacrifice now means everything will destroyed later! Everyone, and everything.” With a chuckle Kefka entered the castle, heading up the stairs to the second floor. As he’d expected, Chaos had entered the throne room through the roof. Yes, the battle had already begun below. Now it was time to really get this party started.
“Hohohoho... Heheheheheh..! Hahahahahaha!! WHOA-ohohohohohohohohohoooo~!!!”
Kefka leaped into the hole leading into the throne room, his descent slowing until he was floating beside Garland with his arms bent at his sides; palms facing skyward. With a sadistic grin, he paid no mind to the Gria and looked at the former Knight of Cornelia.
“Why hello, my friend! It seems my pet has started the battle without me, such a shame I couldn’t have been here to do so myself. It doesn’t matter, his power is absolutely stupendous! He will guarantee our victory here, he will destroy the neutral without so much as a second thought!” Kefka turned his attention back to Chaos, and called out to his slave. “You’re doing well, my friend! Don’t forget to not show any mercy! Remember, Mercy is for wimps! There’s a reason oppose rhymes with dispose... If they get in your way, kill them! I don’t want any part of them left when we’re done here, is that understood?!” It was then shots rang out, and Kefka’s attention was forever changed in the battle. His eyes set upon Tseng, with an appearance that reminded him of the red head and the damned suit that punched him in the face in the previous battle. If he was right and they were connected, this would be his chance for revenge.
“Oh look, what do we have here? One of those suits, like those from the last battle! You look so much more professional, so much more clean! You must be their boss, their leader, their best! Hohohoho, oh how I’ve been wanting to meet you! Did you bring your little minion along with you? Not the red head, but the other that battled against me in Order’s Sanctuary! Oh, how I’d love to see the look on his face when I destroy you before finishing him off! I don’t see him, but perhaps he’s crawling around the cracks like a cockroach? We’ll see soon enough, but for now it’s time to let things take off with a bang!!” Kefka threw his arms up before him, before spinning them as he formed a white ball of magical energy. With a grin, he shoved the ball forward towards the Turk Director, the spell racing towards him before it erupted in a brilliant explosion of Ultima with such force it cracked the floor beneath the wide area of its coverage. Even if he attempted to escape, surely he couldn’t move out the way in time and would be caught in the blast! Oh, how he loved the peril he could cause in situations without escape from pain!
”Whoa-ohohohohohohohohohoooo!!”

Raid #2

Post by jordan on Oct 10, 2011 17:54:47 GMT -5
Jordan walked thought the frankly quite deserted town, something seemed so off about the people vanishing. It wasn't normal, something was brewing. The towns emptiness was foreboding, very much so. This really was a stronghold of darkness and it worried Jordan. The slight breeze blowing through town didn't help the ominous feel. The castle that was there destination leering overhead, dwarfing the party. Jordan could only imagine how hard it would be to assault such a stronghold. Yet that was sort of what they were going to do. To Jordan is seemed almost ludicrous. How could you attack such a place unless the people in charge were idiots. They would, at least they could organize an army if they didn't slaughter there people so easily.
This was Jordan's first mission with the the director since his accident and the Turk wanted to prove his ability to Tseng again. He had fought since the accident but this was the first time Tseng was going to see it, and Jordan was quite nervous. He didn't really know what to think of the town, it was nice. He supposed but that was hardly a good description.
The Turk then looked at his team mates: there was an average looking man, wielding an gun. He had seemed confident. Laguna, that was his name. Then there was the strange flying person, Jordan wasn't sure what to make of either of them but instead chose to see how they handled themselves in a fight before judging them. Jordan knew he could end up needing the two in battle and didn't want to make snap judgements.
Then the sound of a battle came from up ahead, and immediately Tseng ran off ahead. Jordan stopped as everyone ran off in front. The Turk was genuinely frozen in fear, he quickly got over this and set off after the others. As he got to the doorway he saw the director fire at Vincent.
Vincent Valentine the Ex-Turk, experimented on by Hojo and infused with the semiWEAPON, chaos.
Jordan knew of Vincent, and he knew about Hojo. Sometimes Jordan wished he had smashed the "Dr's" head into the ground, the self centered and pompous twerp! Unfortunately Jordan had never had such luck, the experiments Hojo was allowed to create haunted him to this day.
Then as he was about to walk into the room, Kefka descended and began to talk. Jordan got ready to rush in and surprise the clown. Then he heard Kefka talk about him. Jordan growled and cast haste on himself as he listened to the demented jester. Kefka threatened Tseng, something Jordan wasn't about to take. As he got ready to dash in a spell was cast at the director. Jordan realised it was too last to stop the spell so he dashed in at high speed using this to his advantage and jumped grabbing Kefka and throwing his head toward the ground with all the Turks body weight.

Out of darkness the Emperor took form in the Kingdom of Cornelia. His gold figure standing out among the crowd. He looked amongst the fellows and saw both friend and foe. The battle had started without him, although it was nothing to be weary about. The clash mattered not to him as he had more plans in store. For the battle he had allied himself with Garland and some of his previous cohorts, one of them to be recognizable anyway. It disgusted him at the thought of him being considered an ally rather then being in control of the group. Nevertheless they were almost after the same goal. The more they had on their side the better. It makes it easier to deal with the pests and not have to dirty his own hand. Sitting idly by wasn't apart of the Emperors plan. A bigger plan was formulated in his head. You see he's the Emperor for a reason, he led wars and won them. Ruling over land with an iron fist and controlling the battlefield was his specialty. Now while there were some pawns out to deal with the others, there simply had to be more. You can't just simply send in troops to be equal. You have to conquer the other side with no mercy. With a quick flick of his wrist the Emperor summoned a couple of Hellspawn to do his bidding. First there was the Stalagmite. It was one of his more wicked creatures, but yet was considered lower class. It's rough, diamond like body slowly creeped out of the ground. The creature took a few seconds to adjust to the light and then came to the Emperor's side. However he wasn't done just yet there was more to come! Another creature had faded in from thin air. It's signature round and red body was the first thing to come into sight. It was a Bomb, probably not common around the opposition. Either or it was a menacing creature that had the potential to destroy villages if it came in a horde. There were just one more creature the Emperor had in store and it was one of his most gruesome. The ground started to shake and caused some of the buildings around the Emperor to come tumbling down. Earth had begone to crack and jut up from the ground below. The shaking stopped once the said earth had cracked and exploded around the battlefield. Out of the freshly made hole was a giant Abyss Worm. Its drooling mouth and razer sharp teeth were hungering for flesh. "Oh don't you just love the sight of the Hellspawn? Such magnificent creatures all under my control." The Emperor said casually as he admired his newly summoned spawn. They were his army, his true army, and all will suffer under the likes of them. Oh, what should I do? He thought as he gazed upon the field of battle. Divide and conquer, one of my more finer strategies. Not like these peasants would know. The fools know not of what they are dealing with. With a wave of his staff he sent the Bomb and Stalagmite after Laguna. These others are of no familiarity to me, however I remember his face. After this battle he will remember not to show it in my presence! Both the Stalagmite and the Bomb charged at Laguna in their own way. The Stalagmite went for a hard punch, while the bomb floated hapazardly around the gunner and tried to hit him with his own body. The Emperor kept the Abyss Worm by his side, he had other plans for him. Posts remaining until desummoning: 4 Cooldown: 5 posts.

So far of the Warriors of Chaos from the cycles, had Garland gathered Kefka and the Emperor, it appeared. The Fiend of Fire slithered from Castle Cornelia towards the town as she searched for her prey. She hadn’t seen either Kefka or Emperor yet, but she doubted they would stay away. Especially Kefka would be interesting in destroying the place, she wasn’t sure what the Emperor of Palamecia would be up to, but no matter. From what she had heard, Kefka had also brought a ‘pet’, from the cycles she recalled Terra Branford having been enslaved by him before, but when she saw the Chaos form of Vincent... Definitely gotten a better taste in slaves, she figured.
When Vincent was launching his attacks, she saw also Garland, Laguna, Kefka, and Ysera. She could recall Laguna from the cycles, even though she had only been a summonstone back in those days. The gria was unfamiliar, same for the two others that appeared. That’s all? She looked from one to the other, four enemies for the five of them. Laguna seemed to be under attack the most with two of the Emperor’s minions appearing to attack him and Vincent launching himself his way as well.
The others fought rather chaotic with Tseng attacking Vincent, Kefka attacking Tseng, and Jordan attacking Kefka. All the chaotic mess she ignored as she looked back at Laguna. It was best to remove the first pawn, just to show they needed more back-up. Also the gria seemed fairly ignored other than some bullets, so she slithered forward and tried to make eye-contact with the gria using Hold. If it worked, the flying dragon half creature would be frozen and fall out of the sky. Following this she gathered flames around her many arms and launched a Firaga at Laguna, “you shall burn in Hellfire!” The flames were launched in a large and wide burst, so it would also destroy some of the town in its way.

Raid #2

Ysera watched the man named Laguna move from above while they headed for the castle. As they had gotten closer, the Gria Hunter noticed a tall man. Heavily armoured as well, she blinked and kept hanging in the air. From the sounds of it, Laguna recognized the man in question and named him Garland. From what the people hiring them, he had understood the man that had once kidnapped the princess of this place was also named Garland. Same person? However, she didn’t really have the time to think about all this as a clown appeared and some demon had also made its appearance when it started shooting at them. She felt a sharp pain as something hit him, guns... She had noticed Laguna wielding a similar weapon, but was still not used that now everyone started using weapons of different races. Then again, demons like this creature was something she had never seen as she looked Vincent over when he charged at Laguna. While this attack went on, Ysera had rolled around in the air from the pain and force when she was hit by the bullet. Now she also noticed two other creatures come at Laguna as well. One of her allies, Tseng, was attacking the demon while the clown was attacking Tseng. This is really becoming a mess in a single instant, she thought and held up her Auracite to summon two beings of her own. At both side of Laguna a creature appeared, Shivan on Laguna’s left and Sylph on Laguna’s right. Shivan immediately attacked the Stalagmite with an ice pellet while Sylph send out a small greenish air wave at Bomb to blow him away. Both of the summons were ranged attackers, so she hoped they would help Laguna. Seeing the fiend send out flames, she watched the two summons move further to the sides to make sure not to get hit by the Firaga. Meanwhile, Ysera had taken up her bow and flew down onto a roof as she aimed at Garland. She released an arrow in the hopes to keep the knight busy and seeing his weapon, she assumed she was at an advantage on range. SummonsShivan: Image. Sylph: Image.

Raid #2

And so here had appeared the mercenaries who had come to die, and who else was a part of their numbers but Laguna Loire, the Man with the Golden Gun, and one of the many casualties of the war. A shame he had returned to the living world; Garland never liked the gun-man, perhaps less so then most of the other warriors, if only because of the damned mouth he had. It mattered not, however; he would fall soon enough.
Now, the others were certainly new to him; two figures in uniform, one using a weapon of presumably similar make to Laguna's, and another who seemed particularly incensed by the jester's attack on the suited gunman. He had no weapon of any kind, so perhaps he was a monk of some sort. Mattered little, obviously. The only bare-handed challengers he considered worthy to their title was the warrior who had bested him in the Chaos Shrine and the female he had fought in that other dimension. This man would be of little consequence, and Kefka would no doubt make short work of him.
The last challenger was nothing short of a disappointment, however; it was but a winged child who had brought some even younger looking children to assist her. She didn't even fight with a blade, as the Cloud of Darkness' enemy did, but with a meager bow, as if that could harm him. How unfortunate that she had entered the business of adults, yet no mercy would be shown to her, regardless of her foolishness. The only mercy that might be allowed is the mercy of death.
Predictably, his allies had arrived. Kefka and Marlilith were certain to come, after their alliance had been made. Having the psychopath and the Fiend of Fire on his side would be incredibly useful during this bout. The Emperor was not a surpise; he reckoned that, if Mateus still lived, he would join back into the group to further his own goals. He would have to be watched, predictably, yet he was sure that it would matter not when his plans had achieved fruition. Most oddly, however, was Kefka's pet; this... Valentine, if he heard correctly from the suited mercenaries, seemed to have a past with them. It mattered little, though; he was aware of Kefka's ability to gain control of others, so surely Valentine would remain controlled, at least for now. Whether that would remain true permanently, however, would have to be seen.
Enough time was spent scanning the battlefield, however. All that mattered was the conflict itself.
"Loire. It seems you did not perish that day. Unfortunate." Garland chuckled, tightening his grip on his blade. "No matter. You are but a nuisance in the grand scheme of things." He looked as the Valentine creature, the Emperor, and his Fiend of Fire attacked him simultaneously and chuckled once more. "Your stubbornness if for naught, however. It seems a repeat of events prior is necessary for you to realize this."
The dark knight's gaze then fell on to the Jester, nodding his head solemnly. "I seems your pet is eager to end the lives of these fools. Perhaps he will have some use to us yet." He then watched the Jester run off to deal with the suited figures. Laguna was preoccupied with the Emperor, Marilith and the Valentine beast. That left just one person, then…
Garland’s eyes scanned the battlefield once more, his gaze searching for the archer. He finally looked back up towards the roof, or at least, what was the roof, and he saw the winged girl taking aim at him. He made no movement, however, and simply watched her as she fired her arrow at him. The dark knight raised his blade toward the girl and the arrow and then activated Chain Cast, firing his blade right the arrow, splintering the projectile and sending his blade right at the archer. If she thought being at range would help her, she was unfortunately mistaken.
_____
Chain Cast: Garland activates the whip function of his blade and lashes it at a foe or foes in his way. Can also be used to latch onto people or objects (First post is the actual attack, next post is reattaching the blade. Cooldown: 2 posts)

Raid #2

Oh, this wasn't good and it was getting even less good by the second.
Laguna's group was outnumbered by quite a margin. Even worse, a good portion of them were Warriors of Chaos, the same jerks he had to fight in the Dissidia War. If they weren't Chaos Warriors, they were minions. He noticed that one of them recognized one of the minions and called him "Valentine". The worst of all was that three of them had decided to gang up on him! Laguna was immediately regretting going in all gung-ho. But he wasn't going to go down without a fight! He pulled out his Ragnarok Cannon and activated Ragnarok Blade. He then swung the giant laser blade at the entire group of evildoers. Hopefully, that would keep them off-balance for the others to deal damage and make that "Valentine" minion back off. Giant lasers tended to do that, in Laguna's experience.
The Journalist then noticed the Bomb and Stalagmite coming after him and immediately made the two Hellspawn chase after him through the room. He put away his Ragnarok Cannon and pulled out his shotgun. He then noticed the two helpers Ysera summoned and had to repress the urge to yell, "Look the Faeries Are Here!" since jokes seemed to be a bit out of place at the moment. As the helpers did their job and Laguna gave a thumbs up to Ysera, he kept leading the two Hellspawn around until the Bomb was at just the right spot, namely right next to the Stalagmite and he shot at the Bomb three times with the shotgun. If all went to plan, that was too less minions the group would have to deal with. If it didn't... well, Laguna was resourceful.

Not bullets, beams. And sorry for the delay in posting, everyone!)
"No...!"
Vincent was fighting his worse half, and the demon essence that his slave crown had forced out of his body. He did not want to hurt the friendly looking man the Slave Crown and Chaos had forced him to attack, but his mental defenses pained him and he had a very hard time fighting alone against them. Even if he had the Protomateria now, which he had since lost in the devastating battle after taking down Jenova, it could somewhat even the balance between Chaos and the Slave Crown. At least sometimes Chaos was in unison with him, but against Kefka's Slave Crown over-riding his thoughts he was outmatched and overpowered. This is my body, and I am not going to let this happen! he fought with his will again, only to be pushed up against by the semi-WEAPON.
Let this happen. What difference does this make? Even if this neutral force can overpower us and take the heart of this world, another force will come to claim it after them, and so on. The cycle of conflict will continue regardless, so we may as well reap these souls and use our efforts to be rid of the crown later. What is there to fight for but the weak, that is why you lose. the demon within growled, and within the demon faced Valentine within the darkness, lashing out as a powerful claw wrapped around Vincent's neck and squeezed down hard. There is something worth fighting for. You may not care about these souls, and they may not trust us either after this, but if we work together we could cast off this slave crown and turn on the ones that enslaved us. If we don't make a stand now, this will not be the last world they claim... you were meant to be the reaper of souls on Gaia, and they will go after it next because of us. Vincent gasped, reasoning with the spawn of the stagnant Lifestream pool, but Chaos simply shook it's head.
Back outside the mental struggle happening from within Chaos's mind, the Slave Crown did the thinking for them, the programming of the device fulfilling Kefka's command to destroy the enemy. The neural inhibiters registered the Ragnarok Blade coming for them, and instantly let go of the journalist's shirt, as suddenly a ignited laser beam of it's own lanced out the tip of Death Penalty and parried the opposing blade as it swept towards them. Chaos Blade was used as it attempted to slash towards Laguna in a diagonal counter arc once the Ragnarok Blade had been deflected away, immediately soon after bullets struck the hide of his demonic armor and pierced the skin as black blood seeped out. Eyes filled with demonic amber rage, the beast turned it's attention on their shooter, and from within Vincent could have bitten his lip in annoyance. What is Tseng and the Turks doing here?
They were going to get themselves killed, Tseng in particular, now he had the full attention of the semi-WEAPON. It tread towards him slowly and powerfully as it raised Death Penalty, a unnatural dark cloud dispercing in a aura around it, as Chaos looked blindly at the leader of the Turks he had onced saved from the Remnants. "Must... destroy... all... foes..." he uttered again mindlessly, a high-pitched whine of technological advancement ringing from his evolved rifle in warning before another huge shot of negative energy lanced out at Tseng to hit him dead center in the chest. It did not seem to matter at the time that the Emperor and the Land Worm happened to get into the crossfire at the time, as friendly fire was irrelevant... only to destroy the enemy and everything, as Kefka's Slave Crown was programmed to do.
