The red-head was indeed embarrassing himself, stuttering like a fool and unable to make any sentences without correcting himself immediately there after. This would have continued had he not felt the touch of a soft hand again his chin, promptly closing his mouth. Looking toward the source, he could see Artemis' left hand pressed against his chin with a face that just seemed to say "idiot". Grinning sheepishly, he blushed lightly with closed eyes, chuckling nervously as he now used his free hand to scratch the back of his head.
"S-sorry," he started but before he could continue the normally winged keybearer continued speaking, suggesting that they do this some other time. This caused him to pout, disappointed in himself that he had let himself be distracted at such an important time. If he had been paying more attention and didn't stammer like an idiot the dark keybearer wouldn't be swimming away... wait what? Raising an eyebrow at the sight, the red-head listened as Artemis continued, talking in what he thought was a matter of fact in tone. Trying to hold back a smile, the freelancer soon started to laugh as he held his sides and attempted to recover from the fit of laughter.
"Hehe, maybe you're right, perhaps we should do this some other time," he started before grinning like a fool and pointing over to her with an index finger, "Although it looks like you've already learned, you're swimming right now believe it or not and skillfully at that," he added crossing his arms as he began to look around. While he wasn't sure she would stick around now that she had learned how to swim, if he managed to convince her he wanted to find something of interest to show her. If he recalled correctly, that pirate ship he had seen was just over...
"Ah there it is!" he would exclaim, turning back to Artemis with a smile, "Now that you can swim how bout we check out that sunken ship over there? Heh maybe if we're lucky we might even find some treasure or something. Plus we wouldn't wanting you to forget how to swim seeing as you just started getting the hang of it, never know when those underwater Heartless might strike," he added, winking at her with a grin and crossed arms. While he was rather certain that no underwater Heartless would be appearing anytime soon, the freelancer having spent quite a bit of time here and seeing hardly any, he certainly doubted Artemis knew better. After all, she couldn't even swim two minutes ago and it was obvious she didn't like this world very much thanks to her lack of swimming ability. Perhaps now that she did know he could get her to like it, perhaps show her around a bit and just maybe make her enjoy herself instead of always being so serious.
Although I imagine getting her to crack a smile will be harder than pulling teeth hehe, he thought as he motioned her to come over and would swim over to the ship assuming she followed... if not well he certainly wouldn't give up easily.

The mermaid cautiously watched Felix with curious eyes. She had noticed the blush and briefly wondered if he was embarrassed from the previous blunder or for stuttering like an idiot. Before the dark keybearer could ask, she was startled to see him clutch his sides and began a fit of laughter. What just happened? wondered 'Artemis' as her right eye began to twitch despite her overall confusion. She can already tell that the freelancer was laughing at her and not at something silly that could be happening right behind her. 'Artemis' stole a glance over her shoulder just to make sure that there was no one behind her while going through a few questions. Why was Felix laughing at her? Did she already make a blunder without knowing it? Did he hit his head too hard? I'm just going to hit him to see if he stops laughing...
The dark keybearer was about to summon her keyblade and violently thwack him over the head with it despite the likelihood of him getting a concussion and poisoned from her weapon when Felix pointed out that she had already learned. Blinking out of surprise, 'Artemis' glanced down at her black and silver fish tail to find that what he had said was true. "Huh...I'm actually swimming..." muttered mermaid, astonished as she had never expected to learn how to swim before mumbling, "You're lucky this round..." She wasn't going to take the earlier laughter lightly and even seemed to be pouting about it.
While 'Artemis' wasn't paying attention, she hadn't watched the freelancer swim around in the apparent search of something. The keybearer startlingly glanced up back at him when he made an exclamation about a sunken ship. "There's a Gummi Ship down here?" wondered the dark keybearer out loud as the only ships she knew about were the Gummi Ships. She was about to let Felix take the 'treasure' when she noticed that he seemed to lack a weapon.
Now that I think of it...I don't believe he had ever wielded a weapon during the fight with that Heartless Horseman when we had to fight them at Kingdom Hearts... mused the dark keybearer as she reflected on the fight, A hand-to-hand combat fighter... 'Artemis' then noticed that the freelancer had nearly left her behind and was now motioning her to follow. She sighed. I'd better follow in case he gets into trouble...I really doubt that Felix can handle the Heartless here with only his fists... The mermaid quickly swam after him.

After getting over his fit of laughter and beginning to make his way over to the ship, Felix’s thoughts began to wander as usual, falling upon the subject of Artemis. Specifically his thoughts went back to her last question, inquiring about the ship or rather what she thought was a Gummi ship, a notion that made the freelancer snicker lightly to himself. Indeed, to think she didn’t know what a ship was, a vessel used to cross large bodies of water, was rather amusing to say the least. It seemed like the winged keybearer lived under quite a large rock if she didn’t even know what a ship was. Well perhaps that wasn’t the right way to put it, perhaps detached from the modern world was a better way to phrase her lack of knowledge. On that train of thought, he began to wonder just how little she did know about the modern world and all its wonders. Did she have any idea what a cellphone was, a roller coaster, a computer, a dish washer, or any other number of modern technologies? Her previous statement would seem to say she didn’t a very peculiar trait that he learned about regarding the dark-haired keybearer.
Not that he held it against her though, if anything aside from amusing he found it to be an interesting quirk for one to have. To think that someone would be so detached from the modern world that they only knew of Gummi Ships and not of naval ones, it was something he certainly never encountered before. Furthermore it would give the two something to talk about, if nothing else Felix could certainly teach her about all the aforementioned technologies. Indeed, assuming this encounter developed as he hoped it would, he would need something to talk to her about so why not the modern world? Surely it would have to captivate her to some degree, he couldn’t help but she had some questions regarding said modern world. After all, she traveled around the universe fighting Heartless and all that jazz, it was highly likely she had seen a lot of technology that she had no knowledge of. It would make for a good conversation topic, or at least the red-head hoped as much. On the other hand he wondered just why he was trying so hard to get closer to her in the first place.
I can’t really see any immediate benefits or gains out of getting to know her better, he thought briefly, looking back to her as they swam toward the destination, before looking ahead with a smile, Well if nothing else she’s cute right? Can’t deny that there’s something about her,” he mused as they would soon reach their destination. Stopping a few meters away from the ship, Felix would take a moment to look for Heartless, glad to see none before turning his head toward Selena, grinning widely.
”It’s really something isn’t it?” he asked as he then took more time to examine the vessel. From the looks of it, the vessel was rather large probably stretching somewhere in the area of forty meters or more. If the freelancer had to make a guess, the ship was probably an East Indiaman, a ship well known for being enormous. Whatever the case, it seemed to be covered quite a bit with algae, indicating that it had probably been down in the water for quite some time. This was a bit disheartening as it meant that there was a chance it had been looted by others already but the red-head didn’t let it show. No, he had to hold up and considering that the ship had quite a few holes in the hull that looked to have been formed by cannonballs; surely it meant it had been attacked. If that were the case, and considering the sail with skull and crossbones not too far away, it was probably because it was a pirate ship. If that were the case, it was probably attacked so the assaulters could get their hands on whatever loot the crew of this ship had. And maybe, just maybe, there was a particular piece of treasure well-hidden so that it wouldn’t be easy for anyone to find, let alone some random mermaid passing by. Wanting to confirm this theory, Felix turned back to Selena with a smile, winking at her as he motioned her to follow with his right hand.
”Hehe let’s check it out, maybe we can find some antiques or something on this ship,” he would start before swimming inside a nearby crack in the hull. Swimming slowly and deliberately, the red-head would let his eyes roam around the interior of the ship looking for any signs of booty. While it was doubtful said booty would be anywhere easy to find, there was always a chance it had shuffled around during its descent to the ocean floor. The reasoning had some logic to it but sadly the freelancer couldn’t seem to find much aside from cannons and barrels. Well up until he found a door anyway, one covered in quite a bit of algae. Putting his right hand against it, he would feel for anything protruding on it, finding something and scrubbing away the algae as best he could. With a bit of effort, a rusted plate would be found that was labeled “Captain’s Quarters”, a grin curving against the freelancer’s lips.
”Yo Artemis check what I found!” he would call out, too excited to bother to check if she was actually nearby or not. Whatever the case, he would grip the doorknob on the door that for some odd reason seemed to be in good shape unlike the rest of the boat. Attempting to open the door, it seemed to be locked and despite the fact that any normal lock would have rusted and probably broke with a bit of a tug, the red-head was unable to make any headway with strength alone. Crossing his arms, he would look at it with a glare before scratching the back of his head.
”Jeez, I really wish I could kick this door down right now but this mermaid tail while great for swimming doesn’t do me much good for door kicking,” he started, sighing lightly and assuming Artemis had come by…, ”I don’t suppose you got any ideas for opening it do ya?” he would ask, taking a moment to register what he asked in his own head before smacking his forehead.
Did I really just ask a keybearer if she had any ideas how to open a door? he asked himself before sighing mentally, Granted she hardly brings attention to the fact that she is one but still,

As soon as 'Artemis' had asked about the 'Gummi Ship', she knew just from the freelancer's body language that what she said was wrong. The dark keybearer wasn't aware that there other types of 'ships' other than the Gummi. The dark keybearer visibly frowned at Felix. Selena could tell that he was laughing at her despite being polite enough to attempt to hide it and she didn't like it. It reminded her too much of the mockery she faced at her own home world. Her shoulders tensed and the mermaid suddenly yearned for her wings so she could hug herself.
Although Felix was correct on 'Artemis' witnessing a good bit of different technology that varied in the worlds during her journey, the keybearer had never become interested in them unless they actually proved useful to her like the blood bags, something that had saved her more times than she could remember, and her backpack. Other than that, 'Artemis' didn't understand why anyone would create something so complex to make their own lives simpler especially if it would either break down or lose interest in it. In other words, Selena found technology to be more of a burden than a help unless proven useful. There was nothing captivating about it at all.
As the freelancer announced that they were there, the dark keybearer tilted her head to one side and continued to frown, but mostly in confusion. It wasn't a Gummi Ship as she had expected and 'Artemis' noted that the ship's condition was rather dismal as if it had died from its wounds hard-earned from battle. As the mermaid followed him in, she briefly wondered if a touch could make the ship's walls crumble to dust if it wasn't underwater.
Still following Felix, 'Artemis' stopped swimming when they appeared to be in a dead-end, blocked by a locked door, but with Felix obstructing her view, she didn't know that. At least, not until he asked her if she knew a way to open the door. Raising a brow at the strange inquiry, the dark keybearer summoned her keyblade and nonchalantly pointed it at the door. A small beam of dark light was shot to the door's keyhole and the lock clicked as it became unlocked. 'Artemis' unsummoned her key and resisted the urge to shake her head or facepalm. Did he really just ask me if I knew how to open a door?

Coughing lightly into his hand (which he wondered why he was able to do so being underwater and all), the freelancer tried to hide his embarrassment for asking such a dumb question by turning his gaze away and smiling... only problem was his cheeks were tinted red and his smile was rather sheepish. ”T-Thanks,” he choked out, stuttering a bit much to his dismay, ”Well let’s take a l-look inside, surely there’s got to be some sort of treasure in h-here,” he managed to add, stuttering on his words a little yet again which only made his cheeks turn more red when he thought about it. Shaking his head, the freelancer swam inside ahead of her, hoping to avoid being mocked about the blush on his face. Unless she thought I had a fever and decided that she had to nurse me back to health although I doubt a scenario like that’s going to happen anytime soon, he thought with a breathless sigh, palming his forehead as quickly as the thought had emerged in his head, Jeez and now I’m imagining things like that, Felix you really need to get a grip on reality that’s not going to happen… ever, he mused as he began to swim around the room looking at what was inside. Although he was only paying half attention to the objects he was finding or touching, that last train of thought still lingering in his head. Indeed, as his hand slid against a sword with a jewel-encrusted hilt lightly (something he would normally snatch without a second thought), he couldn’t help but think of how true those words were. They were from two different worlds, hell probably from two entirely different galaxies, it certainly wouldn’t surprise him. He knew nothing about her short of her name and even if he did find out anything more than that what use would it make? He was a sellsword, a man who would do damn near anything for coin whilst she was a keybearer, the type known for their valiant and selfless deeds. What was the likelihood they shared any common interests or more importantly moral stand points? If anything she probably hated him for that and other freelancers like him or at the very least she didn’t trust him. Indeed, when they were at the clock tower she never dropped her guard and if exhaustion hadn’t literally caused her to faint that day… She’d still think I want to murder her… hell she probably still thinks I’m out to get her although I can’t say that I blame her all things considered, he mused as continued swimming slowly around the room, his eyes falling upon golden chalice that he took into his hand for a moment, examining it half-heartedly. If I hadn’t made such a terrible first impression perhaps she wouldn’t have that idea about me but I couldn’t keep my big mouth shut could I? he questioned mentally as he placed the cup back down, I had to make my disdain for keybearers known and create the awkward wall that’s between us. Although even if I hadn’t just the fact that I’m a freelancer for hire probably would have been reason enough for her to distrust me. I take whatever job is given to me so long as the price is right and as a keybearer she has more than just a few enemies. I could easily become one if a client ever gives me the proper amount of coin so why should she get close to me? Seems like doing so could only lead to heartache if I were to ever betray her trust and death so why would she trust me? And can I even make the claim that I wouldn’t do such a thing considering my current situation? I need every last cent I can get even if it seems futile for me to do so I don’t want to give up on… he trailed off mentally for a moment as he looked down to the ground forlorn, I should just tell it to her straight and break things off here before it gets any more complicated, for both our sakes, he finished mentally as he spun around to face her. ”Hey Artemis listen I need to tell you so-!,” he began to say but as he spun around and went to lean against the table behind him, his elbow bumped into something hard. Closing one eyes as he let out a light “ow”, the red-head turned around to see what his elbow had hit but before his eyes could confirm what it was his ears did… a music box. Indeed, suddenly a tune began to play much to the surprise of the freelancer, never having expected a complicated piece of machinery like that to work after spending what could have been decades under water. Not only did it work though, it played the song it was meant to play wonderfully, Felix certain that it was making all the right sounds. Whatever the case the melody quickly melted the anxiety in his heart as he listened to it intently, watching the little mermaid statue twirl around on its rock with a warm smile on his face. He closed his eyes briefly as he concentrated on the melody, almost as if it was a tune that could take you to another world if you focused hard enough… and maybe it was. Whatever the case, his eyes opened when the song ended, crossing his arms as he glanced over to Artemis. ”Heh you think the captain had such a powerful lock on the door cause of he didn’t want people to know that he had this in his cabin hehe?” he asked, grinning toothily as his eyes returned to the music box. Upon closer examination of the object in question, he noticed that a necklace was in a small compartment right beneath the mermaid. Wasting no time to reach for it, the red-head held it from the tip as he let the rest drop to its full length, a small square amethyst being the end of it. While the freelancer was no true appraiser, he could already tell that this little gem was worth a small fortune judging by how well cut it was and how bright the amethyst was despite being under the sea. Indeed, it was extremely valuable and dollar signs were already in his eyes but when thinking upon it for a moment… If she hadn’t opened the door I wouldn’t have been able to get to it now would I? he thought as he turned toward her imagining how it would look on her, perhaps that sight alone would be worth more than the gem in monetary value, ”Hey what’s that over there!?” he would shout as he pointed to a random direction, hoping that the keybearer would take the bait. Assuming she did (or even if she didn’t he’d take his chances), Felix would quickly swim behind her and attempt to clasp the fine piece of jewelry around her neck. Once he had done so he would immediately swim to the side to avoid any counter attack, hoping that she wouldn’t be good enough at swimming yet to react quickly enough to thwack him. Whatever the case, he would take a look at her after doing so, grinning brightly as he put his hands behind his head and snickered lightly. ”Hehe it looks good on you Artemis,” he noted and for the moment completely forgot about all the reasons why he shouldn’t be spending time with her and focused instead on the one reason why he should spend time with her.
