Despite all his efforts, the freelancer seemed to be striking out with the kid as he glanced away from his fist and gave a rather lackluster reply. The red-head already knew the kid had a weak heart that would need work but to think it was this weak was rather shocking. While his own heart had been weak when he was a young buck too, his father was able to get him through this training all the same. When that thought crossed his mind it began to fall in place immediately though, the freelancer having made this training to much like his own. Night was a different person and the bond between them wasn’t as strong as the one that Felix shared with his father. While Felix had been just embarrassed when he had to run down the streets, at the very least he was doing it with his father. Furthermore, when his father gave him those motivational speeches too it was coming from someone he knew his whole life, Felix was but a stranger to Night. He wished to strengthen the bond between them but he was trying to rush things a little too fast and with that realization he palmed his forehead letting out a sigh. ”Ah I see… I apologize I’m just training you the same way I was but I’m realizing that I may have to change things up a bit,” he started, sitting down next to Night as he glanced to him with a sheepish grin and a tilt of the head, ”That being said, I didn’t make you run through the town to embarrass you or anything, I just wanted you to get a look around town. If you do take my training seriously you’ll be staying her for a bit so it’s best to get familiar with the townsfolk and the like. During your stay here I want you to be able to think of this place as home, to be able to create bonds with the people here, and feel at ease. It’s all a part of getting stronger that I was taught because if you have nowhere to call home what do you have to go back to when you get done fighting?” he asked, his index finger extended as his grin shifted to a smile and he looked forward. ”Err well that’s assuming you don’t already have a home to return to anyway, I don’t know much about you so I can’t say,” he choked out nervously, scratching his right cheek with his index finger and chuckling sheepishly, ”But let’s not sweat the details, the point is you want to get stronger and I have to be more understanding of your needs. The townsfolk can be a bit mean but after a few days I’m sure they would be cheering you on like that woman. Yet if you don’t want to go through that right now I understand and there is an alternative route that won’t have many if any people. It will add another fifteen minutes of running but I think you can tough it out as you’re doing a lot better than I did on my first day,” he explained, his feet pushing against the ground as he stood back up. He stretched his arms out above his head, an “mmmm” sound escaping his lips as he looked back over to Night. After stretching out, he extended his right hand to help him up, a smile curving against his lips. ”That being said if you’re ready to go back let’s get you tied up and back on the road! If you opt for the other route I’ll guide you so you needn’t worry about that. Will end the training after we get back to the house and I’ll make us some dinner before we head off to bed. Make sure you get a lot of sleep though cause tomorrow is a new day and you’ll need all the energy you can get to get through tomorrow’s schedule! And just for you, I’ll be sure to make sure it’s humiliation free so you don’t get discouraged alright?” he offered as he winked at the young keybearer, his smile quickly curving into a grin.
This kid’s a giant pain in the ass I got to admit,[/i] the freelancer mused as he shook his head mentally, But at least he keeps things interesting. I wanted him to reaffirm his resolve here but actions speak louder than words anyway, I can always see how he fares tomorrow. If he thought today was brutal, he has no idea what I have in store for him tomorrow,[/i] he thought, snickering in his mind at the thought that followed. I just hope he becomes a good investment later on,[/i] he finished mentally, not sure whether he meant that in terms of Night just making him some money or if there was a deeper meaning behind his own musings.

Hearing him apologize for training him like he was trained. Something that still confused him, how was he not embarrassed when he did it then? And if he was embarrassed at all why would he put him through the same thing? The keyblader thought very low of himself as it was, he didn't need the sinkers that were given while he was running. Sure some people were supportive, but it was still humiliating. Though for now he just kept quiet and listened as he explained that it wasn't meant to embarrass him, but rather build a bond and learn about the town. To this Night just looked even more confused than before.
Night wasn't the kind of person to make many connections with people. When he went to a new world it was never to make friends, or bonds. It was just to help people out, help the world out if it was covered in darkness but he never made any real friendships. Well Kadeo was probably the closest he had to a real friendship but that was about it. Everyone else he felt he met was more of an acquaintance than anything else. Even Felix here, he wasn't expecting a friendship or a bond in this, just someone to teach him to be stronger. Though to think this place as home? Felt like like an odd concept to him. He had a home.... kind of, the place was a cruel place to be, where everyday humans had to live in fear. He knew that this world was nothing like that so to be like home was a bit of a odd concept to him. "I guess that makes sense, though I'm not one for creating bonds though," he said to him, at least willing to give it a shot.
"I don't... well I do but.... I don't know things are complex there," Night said when his own home world was put into question. He had his home world, but it wasn't like he was welcomed. His own village didn't want to see him again since they saw him as just another synchro, and since he was pretty much marked with the slave tattoo he wouldn't be accepted into the higher class of his home world even if he wanted. So he really didn't have a place to go to. Well there was that one village where he may be able to do go to, but he would just end up living underground in hiding.
"That sounds better, I rather take the extra time than extra people," he replied watching as he got himself up and held out a hand to help him out as well. Night taking it and allowed the older man to help him up as usual not returning any smile to him. As he was pulled up he could already feel his muscles aching, oi already he was feeling a bit sore, he hadn't worked this hard in a long time that was for sure. Though his eyes widen slightly about returning back, "I have to drag you all the way back as well!?" he couldn't help but exclaim lightly, he was already tired out and he was expecting him to take him back? He sighed lightly oh well there was no avoiding it if he wanted the training. "Fine, thanks uhhh ..... dinner sounds good," he answered as he got the rope and tired it around himself again like Felix had before just waiting for the directions for this less crowed area.

After his speech and Night’s eventual responses, the freelancer frowned lightly as he begun to make assumptions about Night’s origins, nothing pleasant coming to mind. With the answers he was being given he could only imagine what the kid’s home planet was like. It was probably a cold and unforgiving place, showing mercy to no one that inhabited it. He didn’t even wish to make friends which for kid who was only thirteen was fairly alarming. For his heart to be so closed off to those around him surely something had to have happened to him that made it hard from him to trust in others. Then again I’m not exactly a trusting guy myself, I’m only trusting him cause he’s a kid, the freelancer thought as he heard his new disciple complain about having to drag him back as well. To this he snickered as he laid a hand on Night’s shoulder, winking at him with a grin. ”Hehe you catch on quick,” he teased as he confirmed the rope was tied tightly around his apprentice’s waist before sitting on the tire with legs crossed, ”ALRIGHT LET’S GET GOING FULL SPEED AHEAD!” he shouted loudly, pointing forward to guide Night to where he needed to go. X---An hour and fifteen minutes later---X After running for what probably felt like forever to the boy dragging a red-headed freelancer, the two would arrive at the door step of Felix’ house. He would step off the tire as he untied the rope around Night’s waist and held both the tire and rope in one arm. With his other he jangled with his keys until he got to the front door one, opening it as he placed the tire and rope by the front door planning to use it tomorrow morning as well. Regardless, he motioned for Night to follow in, instructing him to lock the door behind him as he made his way to the kitchen. ”Give it about fifteen to twenty-five minutes and I’ll have dinner ready for us… please make yourself at home,” he added indifferently, waving to the young keybearer all the same. When he entered the kitchen he brought his hands together as he cracked his knuckles in front of him before grabbing a nearby apron and donning it. ”Hmmm… wonder if he’s ever eaten a home cooked meal before,”Felix thought but quickly shook the thought form his head as he went to cooking. X---Sometime later---X One delicious meal later, the freelancer was picking at his teeth with a toothpick, discarding it after sufficiently cleaning out the remains of chicken that got stuck in between. Having eaten his fill, he grabbed the dishes and threw them in the dishwasher and motioned with his head for Night to follow him. Assuming he did, Felix would head upstairs toward the attic after grabbing a spare comforter, and throwing it upon the couch upstairs when they reached the top. He would let out a loud yawn, covering his mouth but with little effect as he stepped toward his bed before falling down on it. ”And now it’s time to visit Sleepy’s house… you get the couch, it should be more than accommodating enough for you and should have a pillow or two already on it for you to use but if you need anything else just ask,” he explained as he rolled backwards on the bed, slipping under the covers without bothering to take off his clothes. Despite not having done much in the way of training today, the freelancer felt rather exhausted today if not physically, mentally. Indeed, today had been quite the day for him, his brain having recalled so many different memories today. His mind was also at work trying to create a training regimen for the young keybearer, one that would maximize the potential he saw in the kid. Despite being a keybearer you don’t seem to have been poisoned by their usual stupidity and sentimental garbage. They claim that all you need to fight is a strong heart but that’s a load of crap; it’s only easy for them to say since they’re given keyblades. They’re given a weapon that boasts massive power in the face of Heartless and they want to lecture others that they just got to believe?[/i] he began to ponder as he clenched his right fist tightly underneath the covers, Take that stupid keyblade away and they’re a bunch of useless brats that can only talk big. That’s why I’m glad that you aren’t like them, you aren’t a smug self-righteous son of bit$h giving speeches on how the power of their heart will pull you through a tough battle. You understand what it’s like to be weak, to fight tooth and nail and still lose a fight despite all your efforts or at least it seems as such. That’s why I’ll make sure you get proper guidance so that you won’t end up like any of those useless pricks… at last I hope so,[/i] he spieled mentally as he slipped his hands behind his head and glared at the ceiling with a rather determined look. He took a deep breath as he closed his eyes, ready to fall asleep but couldn’t help but part his lips so speak once last time before sleep took him. ”Night if you can do me just one favor… please don’t end up like one of those guys,” he mumbled, not explaining who “those guys” were as if Night would already know. It wasn’t likely he would know but he wouldn’t be finding out anytime soon for as the words left Felix’ mouth he quickly fell into a deep slumber that wouldn’t be disturbed by anything.

Night just let Felix check his rope before watching him get on the tire, and once again he was off and running Felix back to his home. This time it was much more difficult the before because he was already feeling tired out, though now taking a somewhat longer route didn't help him out in the slightest. Though at the very least there were no people this time, so there were no people laughing and poking fun, sure it also meant no support from others but he would rather have no support at all than a few people laughing. The hour had past and Night had allowed down greatly from when he first started but in the end he made it. His breath harsh as he finally stopped in front of Felix's home. His chest burning as he bent over to rest his hands on his knees. His body felt like it was over hundreds of degrees as his sweat dripped to the ground, feeling as his teacher remove the tire and rope. Primus kill him if he had to do this again.
He followed Felix as he moved into his house, just nodding to him as he said to wait a bit for him to make dinner, Night just plopping himself onto the couch and within seconds asleep to rest his body. Just completely tired out from the running. It had been a long few days, though hopefully after today things would get better. It wasn't along before he woke up again for dinner. Tiredly getting himself up he went to the dinning room table to join him for it, thanking him for the meal though outside that didn't speak to much. Also he didn't bother touching the meat since it wasn't something he had tried before, and it wasn't something he wanted to try. The veggies didn't taste that good either but he was still grateful for it. Once done he just watched as Felix cleaned everything up.
Once that was done he followed his teacher upstairs to his room, still surprised with how big it was. He watched as he rolled onto the bed telling him to take the couch which he did so. Felt a bit disgusting sleeping with his clothes all covered in sweat but he didn't' care to much at time, he was tired and wanted to just sleep. He probably would have at least removed his shirt if Felix weren't here, but he didn't need the questions about his back so he quickly just flopped himself on the couch, leaving the covers off him for now as he curled up into a ball with his head on the pillow. About to fall asleep once again before He perked his head up as Felix asked a question. "Those guys?" he questioned as he looked toward Felix to already see him asleep, not bothering to wake him up just to question him so he fell asleep as well for whatever the training would be the next day.

A red-headed freelancer could be seen on the world known as Radiant Gardens, fighting a giant Heartless that’s body resembled that of a human. The fight was going well, the freelancer was grinning cockily as always and scoring blow after blow without taking any damage. He was at the top of his game, nothing was getting past him and even the extra Heartless that were appearing from either side were taken down as he continued his assault. He was having the time of his life with this job, his client having requested that he take care of the beast to insure the safety of the citizens at large.
”Heh although I suppose the role of “hero” doesn’t really suit me does it?” he said to himself as he jumped high in the air. At the height of his jump he would come back down, an axe kick aimed at the giant Heartless’ head. He planned to use Mass Manipulator to end it but as he swung the kick the monster suddenly disappeared on its own accord, throwing his kick off and only forcing his foot into the ground. He chuckled nervously as he grimaced, trying to pull his foot out but to no avail. As he looked back up from his foot the scenery also changed as he was now in his parent’s bedroom, an IV hooked up to a woman’s arm that laid atop the bed. He recognized the face immediately and attempted to move forward but was unable to take a step. He tried to speak up as well but his often loose lips were sealed shut as if locked with an unbreakable lock. He couldn’t do anything but clench his fists tightly as the arm that the IV was hooked up to fell limp and the woman’s pulse flat lined.
Before the dream could continue, the red-headed freelancer suddenly woke up in a cold sweat, clenching at his chest tightly with his right hand. He breathed heavily as his eyes stared widely into the sheets, almost feeling as if that dream had been real. After taking a moment to recuperate the freelancer shook his head as he got out from the covers, clutching at his throbbing head as he walked over to the couch. From the looks of it, Night was still asleep or hadn’t folded the comforter he used when he was done with it. Whatever the case was, Felix assumed it was the former and proceeded downstairs to take a shower before his apprentice woke up.
Keep it together Felix…,[/i] he thought as the hot water poured down on him, I need to focus on training the brat for now, starting with the morning run and breakfast[/i]
X---Sometime Later---X
After his shower, the freelancer had instructed Night to go for another run, using the same route as last night to and back. This time though he didn’t get him ice cream, not wanting to spoil his apprentice’s appetite for once they got back he had immediately went to work on breakfast. With just a few minutes, eggs, toast, and hash browns were made and much like the other night the freelancer had made no attempt at idle conversation. It wasn’t that he didn’t like the kid but he wasn’t one for talking whilst eating, perhaps after the meal sure but during his focus was purely on the food. Regardless, after their meal the freelancer would take Night to the expansive backyard that was rather barren in terms of vegetation. Indeed, the backyard was void of grass, only a couple bushes here and there to spruce up the place. Otherwise, the backyard was just cold hard ground with a few contraptions about for training that Felix used nearly daily. These would all be used today but first he needed to get his apprentice started on something basic after all his running.
”Night come over here and get in a push-up position please,” the freelancer asked politely. Assuming Night did so, the freelancer would grab the boy’s ankles from behind, lifting them up to waist height as he smirked lightly.
”They say legs are two to three times stronger than your arms cause you walk on them so if that’s the case then the best way to fix that is to walk on your hands!” the freelancer shouted as he began to run forward, forcing his apprentice to either keep up or be squashed whenever Felix would inevitably trip on him.
”NO SLOWING DOWN WE’RE GOING TO BE DOING THIS TILL YOUR ARMS GIVE OUT AND ITS ON TO THE NEXT PART OF TRAINING!” he exclaimed although managed to keep his voice below shouting volume to avoid disturbing the neighbors… it was only eight o clock after all.

The young keyblader snoring softly as he was in deep sleep. It wasn't often that he got to sleep in a comfortable house since he had spent most of his life sleeping outside. Even when he was free for the first time he slept outside since there was no chance of his getting in a house without being caught. And he had transferred that over when he started his journey on other worlds. Sure every once in awhile someone was nice enough to provide him housing, but still most of the time he camped outside. So being on the couch was always a nice change from what he was used to. He was so deep in sleep the young keyblader didn't even noticed ans Felix woke up so violently.
Though his sleep was short lived as Felix woke up up son enough telling them that they were going for yet another run. The keyblader groaned at this but obeyed and did the tiring run. When they got back he was already tired, once again his body full of sweat as his breath was hard. Like the day before taking a small nap before they had some breakfast, eating about half the plate since he wasn't used to eating so much at one time. Besides he felt if he ate to much he would just chuck it all up again, especially since they were suppose to do more training after this. Why? He didn't know he was tired enough as it was. Not that Felix seemed to want to give him much of a break.
After the food he followed him outside, the back looking as bland as the rest of this world. Well the outer parts anyways. Blue eyes looking over toward Felix and asked him to get into push up position. Okay push ups, that sounded easy enough. He did as told still feeling a bit tired, but with now using mainly his arms it should work out better, though quickly yelled out in panic when suddenly his legs were picked up. The child nearly falling over due to the unexpectancy. Night looking back as he heard what the exercise was, until he was forced to move forward, making Night very uncomfortable. This was weird, and he was having a hard time keeping up with the pace Felix was doing.
It wasn't that long after that Night ended up slipping on his hands, landing on the side of his face first before his shoulder hit the ground. His feet going over his head if Felix still would have pushed and may have accidentally tripped over him causing the keyblader to flip over until he stop ob his upper back with his feet over his head. His body in grave pain from the soreness his body was feeling. "Okay, that was painful," he groaned lightly as he felt a breeze on his back, the old slave just barely realizing that his shirt had fallen down and was now revealing his skin making him quickly turn over and pull his shirt down, just glancing over to Felix in hopes he didn't see the scars on his back. Though even if he did he would have tried to ignore it, the boy not bringing it up as he just rubbed his stinging face from where he fell on first. "C-can we please not go so fast, at least give me a little bit of time to get used to walking on my hands before you start running," he asked hoping he would comply. Seriously who trained like this!?

Suddenly, the freelancer would trip over Night not able to keep up with the pace that Felix was putting him at. He fell face first much like his apprentice but got up a bit quicker, turning around to point a finger at Night and shout. Before he could shout words of “encouragement”, he caught a brief glimpse at the boy’s back, noticing some deep scars running on the lower half of his back. His expression turned serious at the sight, his mouth slightly ajar as the young keybearer quickly turned over to hide them. Pulling his shirt down and then beginning to rub his face, the freelancer wondered whether to press the boy about the scars. He couldn’t help but be a tad curious, his Batman detective instincts telling him to inquire about them. Before he could though the boy spoke first, pleading that they slow down the training a bit as it seemed to be one Night was unfamiliar with. The freelancer smirked at this as he let a snicker escape his lips, crouching down to Night’s height as he placed his right hand on his head.
”Hehe alright I’ll go progressively faster this time just tell me when you’re going as fast as you think you can go alright?” he offered, standing back up as he rotated his upper body to stretch out a bit.
I want to ask but he hasn’t told me about it yet and he seemed rather eager to hide those scars,[/i] the freelancer thought as he absent-mindedly grabbed Night’s ankles again and began walking forward slowly, Knowing that kid he’ll probably get really pissy if I ask so I’ll just leave it be for now, when he wants to tell me he can tell me,[/i] he finished in his mind as his pace increased slowly but surely.
X---Sometime Later---X
The freelancer let go of Night’s ankles allowing the kid a moment to breathe as he grinned widely and winked at him.
”Good job, take a minute break and we’ll move onto the next thing, I got to get the stuff for it anyway,” he instructed running over to where the hose was in the backyard. Two large jugs were next to it as well as a few other materials, the freelancer not being able to help but laugh a little manically since he was out of ear range for Night to hear.
He’s going to HATE this so much… ah well if he wants to get stronger then he’ll have to muscle through it,[/i] he thought as he prepared the jugs along with all the other materials before bringing them over to Night, taking his blind side to avoid him seeing all the tools. After all, if he pieced together what Felix was about to make him do, it was possible he might just hightail it out of there.
Although I did make him run to avoid that possibility hehe,[/i] he thought as he laid the materials behind Night carefully and made his way to his feet, a plank of wood and rope in hand.
”Just a minute and you’ll be set up for your next exercise. This is going to be an invisible chair and to make it a little easier on you I’m going to tie this plank to your feet. Sounds a bit ludicrous but I’ve tried it and it does help you maintain your balance,” he explained as he quickly tied the plank and raised his disciple into a seated position, Mkay and if you could raise your arms up to shoulder height and keep them there this exercise can start. This is another endurance exercise so if you close your eyes and focus on something else it helps you maintain your form which is key so please do so,” he instructed and after a few seconds the freelancer would smile mischievously.
”Oh can you hold these for me please?” he would ask as he suddenly placed the top of two jugs of water into Night’s hands. Assuming his disciple complied, he would then quickly lay the rest of the trap on him, tying two needles to his biceps, placing burning incense underneath his rump, and placing a bowl full of rocks on his head for him to balance. Upon doing so he would then meander over to the porch, sitting on it as he stretched over to pick up a book that he had left on the patio last time. Beginning to read it slowly, the freelancer would look over to Night briefly with that same mischievous smile plastered on his face.
”Make sure you don’t drop your arms or anything cause those needles hurt a lot! Oh and if you drop the jugs forcefully they’re actually full of lighter fluid so that incense burning underneath you won’t be that fun. As for the rocks on top your head well that’s just for fun but if they fall and happen to stub your toes or something you might drop those jugs so I’d make sure to keep it balanced… ah isn’t training fun?” the freelancer explained as he began to read his book although kept an eye and ear on Night none the less.

Part of him expecting the elder man to question about it. Or say something, though when it wasn't mentioned he couldn't help but sigh in slight relief as he still rubbed his face a bit in some pain. The stinging taking a bit go time to go away. Once he watched Felix come forward and agreeing to his terms about going slower, the keyblader turning over to go into the push up position again allowing Felix to take hold of his ankles again and raise him up. At first Night seemed to struggle with just staying still, though once he got the hang of that he moved his arms forward like he was walking on them, slowly going faster and faster, but barely fast enough to put Felix into a jog let a lone a full on run. It wasn't long before his arms gave out and they stopped the running. The keyblader resting on his back as he was breathing harshly as his head was full of sweat.
He just mumbled nonsense to him when he mentioned a break, Night to tired to want to do anything more. But they were still going to continue the damn crazy bastard. His arms ached, his legs were sore, wells his whole body was really. It felt like he wouldn't be able to move much anymore. He closed his eyes for what felt like a second before suddenly he felt him grab his foot and began to tie the plank to his foot then the other. "Wai-what are you doing now?" he questioned before Felix explained it. It didn't make that much sense but whatever.
He allowed his teacher to pull him up, and he entered the sitting position like he was suppose to. Blue eyes just watching as he began tieing his knees and thighs to keep them in place. He was to tired to object to it, and if nothing else it helped him keep in said position. Closing his eyes as he was told to to try and concentrate, and it was actually helping for a short while before suddenly he felt two heavy weights on his arms, "Arggg" he groaned as he struggled to keep the water jugs up, "What the hell is this?" he growled before the rest of this crazy contraption was place. With the fire below him the rocks on his head, the needles on his arms it was all a struggle just to stay up let alone hold this position.
Hios arms couldn't help but lower but the needle when into his sides making him cry out lightly as he was forced to move them up again. "T-this isn't training this is torture...." he groaned his body shaking as it was trying to keep everything up, "How long do I have to do this slag!?"

The trap had caught its prey; Night realizing all too late that the contraption Felix was putting him in was merely there to prevent him from running or stopping the exercise without outside help. It was rather ingenious really, using the survival instinct of human beings to make sure they really did push their body to the absolute limit. Although it was just a fib, Night didn’t have the time to consider as much although he seemed to have the energy to complain much to Felix’ dismay. Hmm seems I may have to increase the intensity if he can still talk, the freelancer mused as he listened to Night’s words. He couldn’t help but smile at them, swallowing the laughter that threatened to erupt from his mouth. ”Hey I’m sure you know the saying, no pain no gain right? Plus think of it this way, if you can survive my training than you sure as hell can survive anything else that comes at you ne?” he explained in what was probably not the most convincing rebuttal. Regardless, he would soon hear a shrill cry come from Night’s mouth, figuring that he had just gotten pricked by the needles Felix had attached to his biceps. Looking over, he could see that they had done their job, Night’s arms raised back up in the lateral position as he asked how long he had left. The freelancer smirked as he remembered asking his father the same question when he went through this training, his father giving him a smartass answer. ”When I’m done with this book, it’s a good one!” he replied with vigor but quickly waved his hand in front of his face, ”Don’t worry I’ll know when you’ve hit your limit and after that we’ll have just a single exercise left to go as we worked pretty much every part of your body except your core,” the freelancer explained as he went back to reading his book. When some time had passed, probably somewhere in the area of ten to fifteen minutes, the freelancer would close his book as he went over to Night, taking the jugs from his hands and placing them a fair distance away. He didn’t open them yet as he wanted to keep the illusion that he filled them up with lighter fluid but went to work on untying Night from the plank and removing the pins on his biceps. After doing so, Felix would take the bowl of rocks of Night’s head, tossing them out before placing the bowl down. ”Alright I think you earned yourself a little break, you’ll get three minutes before we move onto the final exercise for the morning and stretch out to cool down. Then we’ll proceed with your mental training but we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it, for now I suggest you enjoy your three minutes of reprieve,” the freelancer explained, a matter of fact look on his face as he raised his index finger during his explanation. Falling back to the ground with his hands cupped behind his head, he looked to the sky overhead a small smile curving against his lips. He wasn’t exactly sure why but something about having an apprentice was kind of interesting even if said apprentice was a pain. He wouldn’t eat meat, he wouldn’t stop whining, and he wouldn’t run through the town even if it was a shorter route. Felix’ apprentice was rather troublesome and yet even so it felt good to have the kid around, he broke up the daily routine of just training and going straight to work. I wonder if this is how dad felt when he decided to start training me,[/i] he pondered before turning his glance to Night and parting his lips. ”You know thus far I’ve been asking you quite a few questions so you wouldn’t happen to have any for me would you?” he asked pointing to himself with an index finger, ”If you do feel free to fire away, it’s only fair since I’ve been dominating the conversation thus far,” he added, a sheepish grin on his face. It was a bad habit of his but Felix tended to talk quite a bit when he got excited about something. While he could keep his cool while working or making just normal small talk, if it concerned training or fighting, the freelancer could talk till he was blue in the face and still have more to say. I should probably work on that… ah well I’ll think about it later, got to keep track of the kid’s break time which is down to two minutes,[/i]

'I suppose thats one way to think about it,' Night thought to himself as he tried his best to focus on the tasked at hand. The stupid needles had pricked him once and he didn't want that happening again. Though his toush was beginning to heat up much more when his couldn't help but lower a bit. Oh god this was hurting so much, he couldn't take this slag anymore. The answer Felix gave him about how much longer this was going to be really didn't help him all that much. His breathing was harsh as he still kept on going with this stupid exercise, though a sigh of relief came when he suddenly felt the weight of the jugs off of him. Felix finally giving him a break and releasing him from this barbaric trap of his. The young keyblader taking a few steps forward before he just collapsed onto his hands and knees before flopping himself over gasping for air. His body sore from this torture already. Was he REALLY going to have to do this for months!? Honestly he didn't think he could do this for another day let alone another month. "Mental training? What do you mean by that?" he asked not really getting what it meant, though didn't care to much about it. The young keyblader rested his eyes for the three minutes he was suppose to have free, half opening it when Felix spoke and asked him if he had any questions, "Uhhh..... " he thought for a moment, personally to tried to think or anything. "Oh uhh.. last night when you said not to be like 'those guys' what did you mean by that?" he questioned for the moment that being his only question [/style][style=text-align: right; font-family: impact; font-size: 24px; letter-spacing: 2px; color: #fffffe; background-color: #242a3d; margin-left: 110px; font-variant: small-caps; border-bottom: 2px solid #ffffff;]★ And i'm just wishing i can stop[/style] [style=margin-top: -350px; width: 100px; height: 100px; border: 3px solid #242a3d;] [/style] [style=width: 100px; height: 100px; border: 3px solid #242a3d;] [/style] [style=width: 100px; height: 100px; border: 3px solid #242a3d;] [/style] [style=text-align: center; font-family: impact; font-size: 14px; letter-spacing: 1px; color: #fffffe; background-color: #242a3d; font-variant: small-caps; margin-top: -12px;]Words: --- ★ Tagged: Felix, Invite ★ Notes: ---Template by Usagi of on the edge[/style][/td][/tr][/table][/center]

As Night’s first question came, the one regarding his “mental training”, the freelancer laughed lightly, a bit surprised that his apprentice didn’t know what he meant. Picking himself up for a moment to sit in a cross legged position, Felix pointed to his head as he grinned toothily. ”I’m talking about making you smarter than the average bear,” he started, clenching his right fist as he cupped it in his left as his expression got a tad more serious, ”Not every fight you get into is going to be just a contest of strength, sometimes it’s a contest of intelligence and wit. Occasionally you’ll run into an opponent that you can’t beat head on either because they have a giant sword you’re scared of or simply because they have a lot more experience and training than you. When that happens, you have to be able to make judgment calls on the fly and be able to turn the flow of battle in your favor. If we use me for an example, while I can use Mass Manipulator to close the distance in a flash and throw attacks that are extremely powerful, my biggest weakness is that I’m a super close range fighter. If a smarter fellow knows of that, that person would fight me in area which would limit my movement severely and not allow me to make full use of that ability. They would then pelt me with ranged attacks and whittle me down slow but surely since I can easily turn the tides of a battle with just a single blow,” he explained, pausing for but a moment as he nodded to himself. Falling back down to the ground with his hands cupped behind his head, the freelancer parted his lips to continue his spiel. ”An example of an environment that wouldn’t suit me would be a tight space that is filled with several pillars, preferably ones that are rather durable. In that type of environment my movement would be very limited and I wouldn’t be able to put my weight behind my attacks. Furthermore, if I did throw an attack, if I hit a pillar I’d probably hurt myself more than my opponent. Not only that, but if my attack went through the pillar and did connect anyway, the force behind the attack would be severely reduced. While I do have counter-measures for such a situation, the point is that I wouldn’t be able to fight at my best and if I was a better fighter than my opponent, with that strategy in place he could potentially beat me. I want you to be able to do the same if necessary and also notice that someone is trying to lure you into a trap that will either limit your fighting ability or kill you. Thus educating you on various things as well as accumulating experience will be paramount to avoiding that kind of situation,” he finally got done explaining, taking a deep breath after his rather long lecture. Despite how long his explanation was though, the freelancer had managed to get it done within one minute and thirty seconds, leaving Night with just thirty seconds of break time. With just those thirty seconds left, Night posed another question to the freelancer, this time asking him about what he said last night. This caused the freelancer to grimace a bit, wishing he hadn’t been so tired yesterday and let that slip. If I tell him I meant keybearers he probably won’t take it all too well. I mean no matter how I try to spin it, he is one himself and it’s likely he’s talked to the other ones previously. On the other hand, he said he wasn’t one to create bonds and if that’s the case then he probably doesn’t have much of an attachment to any of them. Yet he’s just a kid, even if I explained everything to him would he really understand? He has a hard enough time just keeping up with all this training, should I really be throwing something else for him to ponder in regards to me? I hate keybearers and even if I tell him that I don’t lump him in that group it’s not like we have some strong bond of trust. We hardly know each other and it’d be only natural to assume that I might hate him as well just because he has a keyblade. Then he’ll probably wonder if I have ulterior motives and I’m sure training him will only become more difficult. Well not that I don’t have an ulterior motive of making him my sidekick but I doubt that’s what he’ll deduce in terms of my ulterior motive. He’ll probably think I want to use him to destroy the universe with the power of his keyblade or something equally ludicrous,[/i] the freelancer debated mentally, stopping himself as his eyes opened up and he realized that break time was over… convenient. ”Hmm I’ll answer that second question next time, break just ended so we need to get to work,” he explained as he lifted himself back up. Looking over to Night, he would extend his hand forward for his disciple to grab, a grin curving against his lips as he glanced over his ragged and tired form. ”I know it sucks, all this training is beyond exhausting but if you stick with it I promise you’ll get stronger. Whether you want to be strong enough to protect yourself, those you care about, or everyone you possibly can, training is a necessary step towards that goal… or any other goal you have in mind,” he added gripping Night’s hand firmly and pulling him up regardless of whether he reached to grab Felix’ hand. Regardless, after Night got up, Felix would lead him a few yards away from the patio, stopping at a wooden structure. The structure in question was two large logs planted firmly in the ground with another piece of wood connecting them. It was shaped similar to a monkey bar although a fair bit larger in diameter with two ropes hanging on it. Whatever the case, Felix grabbed onto it, swinging himself up on it with a rather graceful display of agility. Once on top of it, he would instruct Night to do the same and get on top of the bar. ”As I said earlier this is going to be your core workout although you’ll probably feel it in your whole body, it is mainly targeting your core more so than anything. I’m going to tie you by your ankles to this so you don’t fall and what I want you to do is swing back and forth, bringing yourself up as high as you can on each rise. While I say swing back and forth, I don’t want you to use the momentum you would build up actually swinging. When you come back down, stop half way and then pick yourself back up again using your core. If you use the momentum than you’re not really getting an abs workout you’re just being silly. And with that explained please hang from this bar and I’ll take care of the rest,” the freelancer explained, giving his apprentice all the details this time instead of just springing a trap on him. Assuming Night complied, Felix would tie one ankle at a time to the bar and once down get off so Night could begin the exercise… and grab the materials to make a small and controlled fire that he would continuously fan underneath Night. ”And for motivational purposes a fire so you don’t stay in the hanging position for too long lest you get a little toasty,” he added with a stern face but was really enjoying the sadistic training he was making the kid go through. I think I know why my Dad did this now… it’s pretty fun in a sadistic sort of way,[/i] he thought, smiling mischievously at the thought.

A tired look still in his eye as his body just laid flat to avoid any pain from his sore body. The young boy just listening as he spoke about his so called 'mental studies.' Though he didn't get exactly sure how he was going to teach him. From the sounds of things this was just the kind of stuff you had to learn while battling your opponent to give you a chance learn your opponent's weakness. Something he wasn't to good at, but he at least managed to get a head on some battles he suppose though not much/ Though like this was the kind of stuff that could just be taught.... could it? Though when he started explaining about his own weakness for battling though personally it wasn't making much sense to him. His mind just too tired to take everything in. Why did he have to make such long speeches? Just get straight to the point, its not that hard to do.
After his long speech he just waited for him to answer his question about who the 'those guys' were. Though rather answered him that his break was over, "What!? you can't just not tell me!" he grumbled. Though it was more because he wanted to waste more time rather than actually wanting to know. Psh just avoiding his question like that what nerve. or was there some kind of special reason behind it. Though he seemed to ignore him as he just offered a hand to help him up. The young keyblader sighing, "Fiiiiine..... " he groaned as he took his hand, allowing Felix to pick him out. Night feeling a bit dizzy as he wobbled lightly at standing. "If you say so, " Night replied when he mentioned that this would get easier. Though he wasn't sounding to convinced though that was just probably because he was to tired.
He walked next to him looking at the pole thing just listening to him explain what he had to do giving a sigh. Couldn't they just go straight to the mental training? At least then it probably wouldn't be so tough. But he just hopped to it anyways. The young keyblader taking a moment to get himself hugged up from the pole. His body aching as he tried to lower himself in position as Felix tied up his legs. The young keyblader being sure to tuck in his shirt so it wouldn't fall down. After doing that he allowed himself to go down before starting the excersize as told. God this hurt so much, but he wanted to get stronger. Night continued on even as he brought something up. A bit confused at first but when he mentioned fire he knew that couldn't be good. When the fire started Night couldn't help but panic, "What the frag do you think you're doing!?" he couldn't help but growl as he was coming down his summoned his keyblade to hand to try and whack the fire away not wanting it under him. Freaken barbaric this guy was.

Almost immediately after the freelancer had started fanning the fire, his apprentice seemed to freak out as if it was a big deal. The fire was incredibly small anyway and so long as Night kept up the pace, he wouldn’t be under it for a more than a second! Thus when the freelancer heard him shout and summon his keyblade, his eyes lit up as grinned widely. The swing came at the little trash bin that Felix contained the fire in, Felix quick to intercept the keyblade with his right shin. The metal and bone collided in a fierce collision but despite all rationality, the freelancer seemed to be completely unaffected, not even gritting his teeth.
”Oh so you want to make the training even more intense huh? Let’s see how long you can keep this up Night!” he exclaimed, his exuberance rather apparent. With that statement, Felix would block any more attempts Night attempted to make at the bag until he the kid gave up or his arms did. Either way, after some time the freelancer would put the fire out himself as he let down his apprentice back on solid ground. After jumping off the pole, the freelancer would stretch out his arms above his head, letting out a “mmmm” upon doing so.
”And with your core thoroughly worked out I think we can call an end to the morning exercise! We’ll be coming back here in the evening but for now you can rest easy and we’ll get you all stretched out so you don’t pull any muscles,” the freelancer noted as he rotated his upper body left to right, ”Just follow the stretching routine I do and then it’s lunchtime… but immediately after it’s onward to mental training!” he explained, extending his index finger as he winked at his apprentice. Regardless, once that was explained, the freelancer reached down to his ankles, pulling back on them as he bent all the way over. Once he did that for a minute, he would spread out his legs shoulder width apart, holding it for a minute as well. Going another shoulder width apart, the freelancer glanced over to Night to make sure his apprentice was following his instructions.
”And since we’re stretching out anyway I suppose we can go back to play twenty questions again if you wish. Since you asked me a question last I’ll ask you one and we can trade off. Anyway the question I have is…” he paused, going into a full on split before continuing, ”How exactly did you get into the keybearer business and what do you think of it so far? From what I know it’s not exactly an easy thing to get into and a lot of expectations are forced upon you but I’ve never really had the chance to have a conversation of this nature with a keybearer before,” he finished, shaking his head as he realized he had asked two questions technically. Whatever the case, as a minute passed, the freelancer let his upper body fall to the ground with his legs fully stretched out behind him, awaiting his answer… and Night’s questions whatever they may be.
