As Sora addressed the mouse, Mickey jumped softly as he returned to reality. Scratching his head from nervousness, he looked around hoping no one really noticed what just happened. Listening in to the boy's words Mickey kept a nervous smile on his face.
"Everything is fine," he said. "You just need to focus on the exam, Sora. I'm counting on ya'!" With that said, Mickey finally looked around to see who all had finally shown up, but mostly focused on the new arrival that went by Night. It was great to see another non-human keybearer due to the fact that it proved any brave heart could have the possibility of receiving a keyblade. However, he never took the step to address him. Sora was more keen for moments like this. Sure, Mickey did not fear going to talk to anyone about anything, but it was better to be around those who you could easily be friends with. There were all taking the exam right? Why not indulge in the unknown with each other.
Thus the question came up, and Mickey smiled. Memories from the past wandered through his mind. His time of mastering the keyblade was one that no one here could possibly have as much fortune to do. He traveled the worlds following his heart and at just the right time. Ventus was possibly Mickey's first friend outside of his home world. Their friendship lasted throughout their whole time until that fateful battle. Clinching his fist he remembered Master Xehanort and Vanitas. All the things they did even though the details that provoked the Chasers anger were still unknown.
But that was why all these keybladers would be here. To prevent him from doing whatever he was planning. He couldn't be allowed to put anyone else through all the harm. If...he was by himself.
Looking back up to the train, Mickey noticed another visitor. This time a female! Another great surprise. He was glad to know that Kairi wasn't the only female taking the exam. And if all things went well there would possibly be three female keyblade masters. It was only at the sound of Master Eraqus statement did Mickey divert his attention. Looking up to the other keyblade master, Mickey smiled in approval of everything he was saying. So this was Terra, Ven, and Aqua's master. The man was truly noble and it was a honor to simply be in his presence. Looking up to see the man's scars there were questions he wanted to ask but that was probably something to talk about later.
Leaving the group of keybladers that had gathered, Mickey actually took this time to approach the other Masters. Master Eraqus had said that nothing would start until Master Aqua arrived. That could only mean that they had found Aqua. This was a moral lifting moment but how? Where was she? Why had he not seen her or heard from her in so long? Did that also mean that Ventus was safe? Looking to Sora, Mickey smiled again. The kid was simply amazing. Mickey was a few good years older than him when he first began using the keyblade, but never in his years had he accomplished so much that Sora had.
Stopping up the grounds where Master Eraqus was Mickey looked up to the two men.
"So we found Aqua?" Mickey started. "That's great news! Where was she?! Oh...I'm sorry." Extending his glove out to Master Eraqus he bore his signature open smile. "I'm Mickey. It's great to finally meet you, sir." Then a familiar voice grabbed his ear. Turning to it, Mickey noticed Ventus talking with the other group. So Ventus had returned. There he was standing as usual looking exactly as he did eleven, or maybe now twelve, years ago. Apparently the news of exam had also come across his ears as well. This would have been great if it did not get even better. Walking up towards the tower was someone that he honestly had never seen before. In fact, his appearance was VERY familiar. A flashback threw him back to the time where he and Master Ansem talked to each other. With the opening of the door, Mickey turned to see one of Ansem's apprentices...Xehanort. But Xehanort had white hair and it was longer. The similarities between them were uncanny. Listening in to Sora's statement this was Terra.
"Hmm," Mickey said to himself as he still pondered on the idea. The idea that they had found Terra was amazing and delightful to see and hear, but the disturbance still haunted his mind. He did disappear after that battle. What exactly had happened? His ideas were then settled as he saw Aqua running down from the train. A straight smile came across his face but he couldn't find himself smiling completely. His focus was on Terra. Terra was battling the darkness, right? Had he controlled it after all this time? Was that the reason he disappeared?
Shaking his head, Mickey turned to Master Eraqus. They were all here. The Keybladers of Light. Together at one destination at one time to accomplish one goal together as one. This would be Mickey's first exam, and he was delighted to know that he himself would be one of the judges. Turning back towards the group, he cleared his throat before speaking.
"Now that Master Aqua is here," Mickey started. "As Master Eraqus stated, the exam will now begin. I personally welcome and thank all of you for taking the time out to come to today's Mark of Mastery exam. Please remember that this exam is a test of your heart! As Master Eraqus stated, everyone may pass but...everyone may fail also. I wish all of you good luck.
Now it is my honor to address all Master's present that will be judging this exam. First is Master Yen Sid, who has temporarily departed from his retired life of a Master to judge this one exam. Next will be Master Eraqus, who some of you heard from earlier. Next is Master Aqua, who just joined finally. And finally will be...myself, Master Mickey. We will momentarily so will all keybladers please gather in a line in front of us. Thanks!" His voice was strong and full of much excitement. He couldn't lie and say that he had not been waiting for this moment in this longest of times. Ever since he had Master Yen Sid spoken. This would be a great day!

It was hard to believe how many people had suddenly shown up. Oceanic eyes flickered to the arrivals that had finally come, but most she did not really recognize. The Princess could sense the nervousness from the boy Night, and so she tried to give him her most reassuring smile. It could be rather intimidating being around so many people, and arriving for a test that he perhaps had not known about. A Keyblade Master, but did she really have the experience to become one? Riku and Sora had always been so much stronger than her, but maybe this was her chance to shine. At least, to prove she had gotten stronger over the years. Maybe the keyblade had not chosen her right away, but the ability to wield it had always been there. It seemed that her thoughts had summoned her keyblade to her hand, and she was surprised to see it was Destiny's Embrace that had answered her unconscious call. It was a reassuring weight within her hand, and a comforting warmth spread throughout her, and she knew that win or lose, everything would turn out the way it should. Master was a title, and this was a chance to meet so many new people, and have a chance to gain more experience for herself. The Princess just had to remain confident and optimistic about the outcome of this exam, and that was that.
Yet another two arrivals came forth, and her senses seemed to alert her to the presence of darkness. Such a innate ability it was, and sometimes the darkness could make her quite ill if there was too much. [Not that either of these two females were resonating it.] Darkness itself was not evil, but those that used it made the side so. The Princess had learned long ago there were sides to any story, and not all darkness users were going to destroy the worlds. [Riku being one prime example, and her best friend.] Kairi merely smiled brightly at the two in welcome, hoping that they would all be able to pass the Mark of Mastery. "You're not late, so no need to worry," she reassured the raven-haired woman. Her presence was familiar to her, and so she glanced at her for a moment longer, searching through her memories. The Princess could remember sensing someone when she had gone to the Pride Lands and encountered Riku, and so perhaps that was who the presence was. Realizing she had almost tuned out Master Eraqus, at least she believed that was his name, and turned her attention to him with a sheepish smile upon her lips. This test would be about the truths of the heart?
The thought scared her just a little.
More people arrived, and one appearance that startled her more than the rest. For a moment she thought of Roxas, but that did not seem right. Small differences in clothing, and the mannerisms. The resemblance was surprising to her, and her thoughts briefly flickered to her Organization friend. Where ever he was, she really hoped Roxas was alright. Along with Xion. All smiles once more, the Princess raised her free hand in greeting to the Keyblade wielder. "Nice to meet you, Ven!" It was so hard to keep track of all these newcomers, and Kairi had to wonder how many more people would show up. It seemed it would indeed be a big gathering of new and old friends alike, and perhaps she was allowing herself to become a little overwhelmed. A whirlwind of faces and greetings, and soon she learned the name of the dark haired woman. Artemis. And a tall brunette soon joined the group, stopping to ruffle Ven's hair. They were obviously close, and so the Princess held back from introducing herself yet again. Her eyes flickered to Sora briefly, and perhaps her confusion was seen by him, but her gaze soon turned back to the three masters before her. All of them would be judging this Exam, and all were filled with such experience and wisdom. Only one was missing, though.
Her happiness suddenly grew, and the Princess was elated to see the final Master arrive, even if late. Aqua obviously tried to act nonchalant about her lateness, and her hand raised to cover her mouth as she giggled. "I'm glad to see you again, Aqua," she spoke warmly, viewing the woman with both fondness and admiration. She had helped save her from those Unversed all those years ago after all. Now that everyone had arrived, the Princess suspected that the exams would now begin. Kairi shifted a little nervously, oceanic eyes flickering over the Masters, and soon resting upon the King. Introductions were made, and his words did help to assuage her worries. Here were four examples before her that stood as proof that this Exam could be passed. Maybe she would not pass today, but failure was simply a path to succeed in the future. Line up? Kairi bit her lip for a moment, wondering if she should step up first. Another nervous thought, but she simple allowed her body to move before her mind caught up. The young woman stepped forward to stand before the four masters, sure that everyone else would soon step behind, or beside, her to form the line as requested.

When Master Eraqus had given his speech, 'Artemis' had believed that she was the last to arrive but when an unfamiliar vehicle and its armored rider flew from the sky, she started to doubt it. His almost unusual entrance had caught her attention, but when he 'removed' his armor with a hit on the shoulder and the flash of light, her eyes widened a fraction in false recognition. Roxas? wondered the cloaked warrior just as the blonde keywarrior introduced himself as 'Ventus' or 'Ven'. She frowned slightly at this and pondered the possibility that Roxas had a twin. The physical resemblance between 'Ven' and 'Roxas' were uncanny however, 'Artemis' can now see that their personalities seem to be the polar opposite of each other and gave Ventus a silent nod in acknowledgment.
She glanced up at the sky once again to spot a familiar Keyblade Ride and its rider. In Terra's direction, 'Artemis' nodded once more just as Sora greeted her. "Hey Sora."greeted the dark keybearer only to be polite then turned to Kairi and nodded as a memory of a particular world when they were both wildcats had finally given the familiar face a name, "That's a relief. And hi again Kairi." In truth, the cloaked woman was nervous to what was going on and it has been too long since she had been in a social gathering.
To say that she was uncomfortable would be an understatement. Selena doesn't even know that if she would be automatically disqualified just because she had more darkness in her Heart than most of the keybearers here. Even though she had agreed to fight alongside the Light to defeat the Heartless Horseman, the dark warrior had also "unwillingly" agreed to help Kadaj with whatever plan he had for her that involved the 'X-Blade' and so far, she can see no way out of it other than suicide. Hopefully, time would be on her side to think of something to dig herself out of it.
The arrival of the train had the young keybearer turn her head in its direction. When did it...Nevermind, I give up.[/i]wondered 'Artemis' then shook her head as she gave up trying to figure out the mechanics of the magic of this particular world. The dark keybearer glanced at the blue-haired Keyblade Master Aqua and gave her a solemn nod before glancing at the other keybearers whom she had not recognized and was about to say 'hello' to Mickey when an observation had stopped her cold.
Artemis had noticed the Mouse King's double-bladed scar and torn jacket just as he turned towards Master Eraqus for a mere brief moment. Unconsciously putting a hand up to the scar on her forehead as if she had a headache, the cloaked woman remembered the image of the culprit whom she knew without a doubt gave the King that scar and her the scar done by her own keyblade. She remembered the power of darkness he had released at Sora's island that had completely shattered the tree house from the inside out and leaving nothing but mere splinters in its place. The image of him giving Terra that murderous expression as he survived Terra's Ultima Cannon that had been severely muffled by her Wolf's Fang at Hollow Bastion. If she had been asked to agree on whether or not Kadaj was a monster, she would agree.
Now realizing that she had both become severely tense and closed her eyes when she had momentarily entered a series of flashbacks, 'Artemis' reopened them to glance at the mouse as he gave his speech that now proclaims the official beginning of the exam and reminds them all that it was a test of the Heart. The dark keybearer didn't know what exactly that meant but a nagging voice inside her head just told her Instinct to just 'shut up and listen' so she assumed that it meant listen to her own Heart. 'Artemis' allowed a calm smirk to grace her pale face to replace her emotionless mask as she took a few steps forward to stand beside Kairi.

Snow turned slightly as she sensed more people in the area…A master of Light had arrived now. Just how many masters were there? she wondered. In any case, Snow was quite surprised at how many keybladers were in the area and found herself becoming a bit more curious about the Mark of Mastery. Would this really be a test of the Heart or would it be of skills? Or was it perhaps both? In any case, her thoughts did not go any further as the Master of Light began to speak. He was saying that the test would begin after someone named Master Aqua arrived; however, his words about the nature of the test only made Snow more confused. The truths of the Heart? What did that mean? Well any case, despite how much this question bothered her, Snow was happy that the test was going to begin soon. It meant that the answers were getting nearer. Shortly after the man stopped talking more people began to arrive.
The first was a Dark wielder, a surprise and delight all at once. It was rare to find those of Darkness that wielded a keyblade and even rarer to find one that was not evil. To see another tainted keyblader made Snow smile slightly as she continued to watch the group grow. Snow’s amusement only grew as two more people made their appearance, a Light keybearer that called himself Ven and another Dark tainted keybearer that seemed to know the boy and the one called Aqua. As the chatter continued, Snow’s curiosity of how the test would turn out with such a mixed bunch grew. She was eager to face the warriors that had gathered, and even more eager to see what she was truly made of. In any case, her eagerness and excitement was pushed down as she heard someone talk to her. Turning to face the speaker, she found the boy called Sora was the one who had spoke.
For a second, Snow was silent and as she watched him emotionlessly and then become friendly, she blinked and smiled slightly as she answered.
“My name is Snow,” she said as she began to walk, closing the distance between the herself and the boy so she wouldn’t have to raise her voice so much. As she made her way through the small crowd, her keyblade disappeared. She greeted the other keybearers casually as she passed them and only came to a stop when she was close enough to Sora to speak normally. With her distance reached, she spoke again.
“You’re Sora, yes?" she said, tapping her ear slightly, an odd way of saying she had overheard his name in the conversation. Snow remained friendly and open as she observed the others around her…that was until she was distracted by another arrival. Looking in the direction of the sound of a train, she saw another female Light Bearer appeared. This one seemed to know Sora and the others also and it did not take long before Snow learned this was Master Aqua. Sizing up the young lady and sensing the goodness within her, Snow found herself respecting the keybearer that she did not know.
In any case, with the arrival of the last master, there was a little bit of chatter before things got quiet as the mouse that called himself Master Mickey introduced himself and the other masters, saying the test would start soon and that he and the other masters would be judges. Judges, huh? So they’d determine who was master…Fair enough, Snow thought as she moved forward to stand on the other side of the one called Kairi. The answers were now within reach. What would happen next…well, she’d just have to wait and see.

When he heard the answer from the clueless teen, the young man just looked down, "I see," he said kinda disappointed for not getting an answer. He seemed to understand the reason why they were here so couldn't he at least informed him of that? He focused slightly on the person he mentioned as 'the king.' Night couldn't help but give a slight glare at him. There was no way in pit he would ever call that beast such a thing. He had escaped his world so he wouldn't have to address his own monsters as masters, but now he was expected to call him king? As if. No beast could be trusted.
Though his thoughts and anger subdued as his ears twitch at sensed another. The wolf looking back to see just who it was, yellow eyes slightly widening when he saw. It was that Snow girl from before. So she had heard the call as well. Though he doubted that she knew much about the test as the boy did. Wonderful. That was when he heard the creaking of the doors as they opened, shifting his head as he tried to see who it was. Eyes narrowing slightly to getting a better look at the blurred figure. Okay maybe choosing this form wasn't his brightest idea.
He just listened as he made his announcement, though he was still just as confused as he was before the explanation. Sure it made things a bit more clear, but at the same time it didn't make sense to him. What were these secrets and duties the masters could have that the rest couldn't? Though other than finding an easier way of learning these things could they all be capable of learning it anyways? Besides that he didn't even introduce himself to make clear on just who the heck he was to be giving this odd test. He looked about him seeing that the older teen had gone to talk to the others that had arrived, just some girl dressed in black. And just another person he didn't know. Wasn't that nice.
Though finally there were some familiar faces as two more arrived, ones he had recalled seeing at that odd place with a million keyblade on the ground. Though sadly he didn't last long in the battle. Oh well. But he didn't say anything to them as they arrived, figuring that they won't even recognize him in this form. Though besides that fact was that he barely knew them, all he did was really recognize them. He sighed slightly, he really didn't feel comfortable with being here. Just because he was able to wield a keyblade like them didn't mean he belonged. He just barely got this stupid weapon not that long ago, and still had no real clue about what this thing could even do. He didn't need to take this mastery test, what he needed was a teacher that could show him what needs to be done with it.
It was the voice of the mouse that brought him back, out of his thoughts as he began introducing these 'masters.' When did the blue haired woman get there? Oh well it didn't matter much, but did as told when they were all asked to line up. Night just walking so he was now lined up with Snow, being sure he was arms distance away, still being the paranoid wreck he always was.

(OOC: Okay, it's been more than a week since anyone's posted in this thread, so I am breaking the posting order, in order to bump it for some much-needed boost. I know everyone is busy now this time of year with the holidays coming up, and yes I know Kairi, exams. So just post when you can, and when you are willing to with the muse. I've also sent PMs out to everyone in this thread concerning our Keyblade Masters!)
No sooner than he had thought her name, then the one he had rescued from the Realm of Darkness appeared, and his small smile returned to his features once more. Now was not the time for her to be explaining his doubts, watching as Yen Sid only acknowledged her tardiness with closing his eyes and bowing his head slightly in thought, but he himself was relieved to see her all the same. He was glad he had saved her when he could, not just for the sake of this Mark of Mastery exam, but just to see her content and out with friends in the light again made him content in turn. From the time he had spent with the Chaser, he could tell that she was a very sincere young woman who had a strong sense of wrong and right... but underneath that he had seen a very affectionate and grateful girl who wanted nothing more than be with her friends and protect them. Her first thoughts, and her next wish she had asked of Sora after she had given up her only keyblade to Eraqus, was to find her friend Ven where she left him. She didn't desire power, or her own keyblade back just yet, just the though of making sure her own friends were safe and happy. And here they were, thanks to Sora pulling her out of the depths of darkness she was able to do so in turn... everything really was connected, and he was glad to be the key that did so.
His attention turned back to the King, who brought him out of his thoughts by answering the concern he had voiced earlier, looking at him with the same expression once more. "Okay, if you say so... thank you, Your Majesty." he smiled, straightening up a bit and making a humorous salute. He watched for a moment as Mickey regarded Aqua's entrance for a moment, taking note of what he said after he gave him a knowing look, confirming what Kairi had said earlier how Mickey and Aqua must have met at some stage to save her. "Oh yeah... I found her, in the Realm of Darkness, when I got lost there too. But we're all here now, so that's a story for another time." he commented off-handedly, trying not to make a big deal over the fact he had been stuck there too, as he knew Mickey and Kairi might have been worried he had ended up there. Once Mickey made his announcement however, his breath hitched slightly as he realized the examination was now being started by the master before him, and listened in intently.
The mention of the test of heart sent off a flash of light out the corner of his eye, and Sora glanced intense azure orbs at the keyblade that had been summoned in her hand, Destiny's Embrace that had first appeared all those years ago when Kairi had decided to fight against the Heartless piling onto him in The Castle That Never Was. It was not only a keyblade that fitted her grace and her radiance, but proof she was more than just a Princess of Heart, and more than just the girl who had been waiting for a year for him to bring their best friend back home. Now it was her time to shine, and the warmth in his heart at the thought she was embracing her own calling summoned his keyblade to his hands once more, but this time it was not the Kingdom Key. He was surprised to see that it was the Oathkeeper, as if subconsciously resonating with the connection of the presence of the light of the auburn-haired keyblade wielder, and the recognition of that connection made him smile as the warmth spread. He watched as she cheerfully greeted Ven, despite being caught off-guard like himself that he looked identical to Roxas, but only when she switched from Artemis to Terra did he catch the flicker in her eyes of confusion meant for him.
In that moment when their eyes met, he nodded as if understanding and to assuage her perplexed state of mind. "I guess I've got some explaining to do; but now's not the time, maybe at the next crossroads. For now... if this is a test of the heart, I know you are going to do great, Kairi. Even if you don't, it doesn't change the way I feel about you, so show them what I know you can do." he reassured her, and for good luck he leaned in, giving her a quick, gentle kiss between her jawline and her neck. Intertwining their fingers and giving it a firm yet soft, reassuring squeeze, he willed himself strongly to unlace their hands and lean away once more back to his original position aside of her. He didn't care who was watching his small token of affection to his most important person, but he understood Kairi would want her space, and it made him sad slightly he hadn't been there with Kairi in her training of the keyblade when she had been there in his crash-course. He turned from her without looking back as they went to line up, not expecting the affection to be returned at all, focusing now on the task at hand.
He would have gone to stand next to Kairi, so at least he would not be far away to provide some sort of distanced moral support, but was stopped when the newest female that had arrived finally made her introduction. "Yeah, that's right." he answered casually as he stopped and turned to the girl with a smile, taking in her name. "Nice to meet you, Snow." he said cheerfully, glad he made another new friend, but it was not long before the girl's attention was turned away from their conversation. She went to stand on the other side of Kairi, reminding Sora of the places he felt should have been taken by someone else not present, and paused to look amongst the gathered group one last time. He could only understand why the three friends from their island would not be reunited here today, as either Riku did not recieve the call, or did not accept it.
Watching as the odd wolfish-looking boy called Night made his way to stand next to Snow, he went to take his place on the other side of Artemis, the Oathkeeper thrumming and feeling light in his right hand. He didn't know what this Mark of Mastery exam would involve, or if Terra and Ven were also taking part, but if there was some sort of combat involved he was ready as he would ever be. He had worked with Artemis before fighting back Heartless, and because he never got the clear chance to, he was kind of curious to see how Kairi could fight and take care of herself. All he had was the very strong belief she could, because of her journey she had decided to take without his help, and that she had seen their first adventure through his eyes and heart as well as fighting in the Organization's castle. Content with this, he looked down the line and was proud to see he was no longer the only keyblader out there protecting the worlds, and called out one last positive encouragement to them.
"Hey everyone, good luck, and let's have some fun with this!"

So many keybearers..
Many he had never seen on any of his adventures though.. he had been gone for such a terribly long time.. He quietly watched as the participants mingled and greeted one another. This event was a chance of a lifetime! All of these promising wielders would be tested on the strengths of their hearts in order to earn the title of Master. Ventus's shoulders began to shiver and quake with excitement as his hands balled themselves into tight fists. When would it start? Who would be granted the honor of Master status? The tension was unbearable!
His concentration was broken as an object came into contact with his spiky blond tresses, messing them up. There was only one person who would deliberately ruffle his hair. "Terra!" The boy cried out, even more overcome with joy than before. He had made it after all! That was on fear set aside. Ven returned his 'older brother's' playful banter with a playful punch to the shoulder. Having Terra here gave him a reassuring sense, and put his mind at ease.
At last Aqua had finally shown. It was always a treat to see her warm welcoming smile. Returning her smile with his own wide, happy grin, Ven gave her a small wave and mouthed a silent 'Glad you could make it' to the azure haired mage as she made her way to stand with the other Masters.
Ven slowly loosened his grip as Mickey's announcement rang out over the crowd. His knuckles had already turned pure white and his nails had dug into the palm of his hand from anticipation. The event would start soon.. He felt as though his heart would pop directly out of his chest. But.. Would he be allowed to participate in the event given his age? While though his body stopped again when his heart was lost, he was technically much older than what his physical appearance portrayed. At the very least, if he was not able to participate, he could of course cheer on Terra as he worked his way to becoming the next Master.
He gave a small shrug as King Mickey asked everyone to stand in a line as they prepared to start. It was the moment of truth. Did he have what it took? Glancing to his side at Terra, Ven's smile pulled at his lips. Everything would be ok. He happily went to stand in line with the others, taking a spot beside Sora.
"Good luck to us all!" Ven shouted as he took his place and came to a halt. He turned to look at Sora, a re-assuring and friendly grin spread across his face. "And good luck to you, Sora! Though, I'm sure you won't need it!"

It didn’t take long for the person in question to finally arrive to the scene. Right after Terra returned the salutation to Sora, Aqua rolled in late, very uncharacteristic of her. As long as he’d known his blue-haired best friend, she’d been the most punctual of any of his trio. If anything, Ven was probably the late one, and he had been one of the first to arrive on the scene. I guess ten years changes some things…[/i] He couldn’t exactly think of what to say to her though. What do you really say to the person who was probably the most disappointed in you? Terra couldn’t think of anything. He had been just as quiet during their reunion, as well. In all honesty, he hadn’t said much to her since he’d informed her of Master Eraqus’s apparent demise, but here they all were, all four of them. Maybe sometimes a happy ending could be achieved…maybe.
After having the chance to look around for a good while, Terra noticed a couple things. First, the same keyblader who’d mysteriously vanished from their battle at the Keyblade Graveyard was here. He’d given himself and Ven a very welcome distraction in their fight with Vanitas that ultimately would prove to be one of the reasons they won that battle. He’d have to pull him aside after their exam and thank him politely for his assistance.
Secondly, Terra noticed that a lot of the keyblader knew one another. Sure, he’d met ‘Artemis’ and the keyblader known as Night outside of this world, but after that, Riku and Sora were probably the only two keybladers Terra knew here, and the latter of the two wasn’t even present. For some reason, the child he’d passed his keyblade down to had decided not join Artemis and himself for the Mark of Mastery Exam.
It was time for Terra to clear all of his negative thoughts from his head. The Mark of Mastery exam was finally set to begin, and it was time for Terra to right what he wronged the last time. The image of being told he didn’t make the cut flashed through his head yet again, for what seemed like the thousandth time. He really fought his hardest to try to gain the title of Master, and that was his ultimate downfall. This time, he would still fight his hardest, but if he was down and almost out, he wouldn’t go the extra mile and allow the darkness to take foothold once more. This would not be a repeat of his last exam.
”Ven, Aqua, and all of you…good luck.”[/b]
Terra was finally ready for his chance at redemption. He was ready to become Master Terra. If he were to let down Master Eraqus this time, he couldn’t face him again, so he decided it was best to just not let him down. At the end of the day Terra would be a Keyblade Master.

There were so many faces out there, it made Eraqus smile to see how many Keybladers of Light there were left. A familiar name passed by his ears as he was approached by a mouse. It was no ordinary mouse as it was Mickey, Yen Sid's apprentice. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Mickey." Eraqus said firmly with a smile behind it. "It's not often that I get to meet a student of Master Yen Sid." Soon after Aqua had arrived and Mickey had made his speech. As Mickey talked, Eraqus noticed Terra and Ventus. The Master was glad to see that his two apprentices were able to arrive and he was more then sure that they would be able to pass, especially Terra.
Beforehand the Masters had gotten together and discussed the plan of action. Eraqus was going to be the one who would make the announcement of the basics. He would let Aqua take care of the details. "We have decided before hand that we will split you into two groups. Each group will be placed in two different rooms of the tower. Both groups will have the same task and each group will have two separate Masters to oversee their progress. Once the last test has been finished, us Masters will group together and discuss your placement. As stated before the examination is pass or fail so be forewarned that there is a great chance of both."
As he finished his announcement he nodded toward the Masters around him. "I would also like to thank the Masters that have come today to help judge this examination. If it weren't for all of your brave efforts and dedication towards the Light, we wouldn't be standing here today." He then stepped back and gave Aqua the floor.

(OOC: Thanks for posting Eraqus! Alright guys, finally we can restart this thread and get the Mark of Mastery underway, so good luck to you all! And thanks everyone for joining and posting, hehe.)
Two whom were never meant to meet, at least face to face. Sora was not aware of this fact, but watched with some uncertainty, and perhaps a little nervousness at the unknown, as he looked to the side to see the keybarer Ven stand on the other side of him. He looked... so much like him, the resemblance was so uncanny. And his voice... that voice. It sounded again so much like his other, and yet, there was a maturity behind that bright and cheerful tone... where had he heard it before? He felt like... he had heard it somewhere else, of course it sounded a lot like his voice, but the difference between them seemed to trigger a look of confusion on his features. Brown eyebrows furrowed, a memory on the tip of his tongue, a feeling like he had forgotten something important that he could not replace.
Did any of this make any sense at all? He looked towards the boy the same height as he was standing right next to him, and smiled a little as the young man seemed to shine with the same cheerful exuberance he should have been smiling with. "Thanks, Ven. You, too." he replied politely, his tone appreciative and sincere, returning the smile, but it faded as quickly as it came. In a lower voice, he spoke to him, and this one only Ven could hear was hinted with uncertainty and... sadness that he could not seem to place. "Ven... have I... met you somewhere before?"
Oh, why was his memories always in pieces? Surely he remembered him from somewhere, just as he did Aqua, even if it felt as far away as a distant dream. Right?
He didn't quite get an answer, as Master Eraqus suddenly spoke up, and announced the basics of how the Mark of Mastery was going to work. Sora straightened up a bit as he heard his imposing voice, but unlike Donald and Goofy would do when respectfully addressing an important figure, he remained relaxed and casual as he listened. They were going to be split up into groups, and put into the rooms of the tower? So that's why they had gathered outside, so they could prepare the rooms inside. Sora looked up at the tower, wondering what lay ahead in the always-changing magical construct, and then at the spot the train had disappeared. So it was starting, and Riku hadn't shown up at all... he glanced to Kairi, wondering if she felt concerned if their best friend hadn't shown up as well. He kinda hoped he could be paired with Kairi so he could learn how she fought and in turn learn to fight alongside her, as he had with Riku, but there was every good a chance that he and Kairi would be split up.
He would just have to wait and see how the groups were determined, and looked towards the lovely Aqua for her turn to speak. "Thanks, Masters, for everything you have done for us so far." he added to Eraqus's gratitude, and smiled contently at Aqua, Eraqus and Mickey, even if his heart was going a mile a minute.

((OOC: A possible fail attempt of reviving the thread. Here goes! *phoenix downs thread* X3))
As each participant talked and took their place in the horizontal line, 'Artemis' glanced at each participate though her gaze lasted a second longer on Ven due to his remarkable similarity to Roxas, a keybearer she had recently encountered. I wonder if Roxas and Ven are related in some way...Cousins maybe?mused the dark keybearer and even started to contemplat about asking him about it when Sora asked if he had met him before. She felt it was best to leave the two to the budding conversation.
It can wait...mused the cloaked woman as she felt the ghost of a smile on her own face before quickly returning to her emotionless facade, "Good luck everyone. Try not to break a leg." It was possibly an attempt at a joke to lighten the mood but she somehow felt that the joke could have been better. An utter failure if anyone thought she was being too serious.
When her gaze had met Terra, 'Artemis' suddenly felt her mellow mood take a down spiral and suddenly became tempted to pull her hood over her face in remorse. Like him, the dark keybearer had noticed Riku's absence from this chance of a lifetime and even felt that it was most likely her fault that he wasn't here because of what happened at the Keyblade Graveyard.
Selena could distinctly remember Riku falling backward when he fell unconscious by her hand and Terra screaming at her. She remembered how cold the rain was and how harsh the winds were. She remembered the countless Heartless army gaining up on them. I...I needed to get them out of there somehow...Riku was in no condition of fighting that many...He would've...If I hadn't... thought 'Artemis' as she tried to reassure herself for her harsh course of action. The dark keybearer closed her eyes, bit her lip, and turned away from the earthen keybearer.
As Master Eraqus made his announcement, the dark keybearer reopened her eyes and turned her eyes to him. As 'Artemis' listened, she felt a sense of horror turn her blood to ice and her expression showed it. There's a good chance that I would be grouped with Terra...And even if he isn't, I'm no good at working with people...[/i] panicked 'Artemis' and didn't even notice her own eyes rapidly flicker between silver and gold for five whole seconds before returning to its natural color, And I'm not one of the Light...So how...?[/color]
"I'm bloody screwed."muttered Selena underneath her breath and she hung her head in defeat despite the fact that the Mark had not even begun. Her heart knew that the chance of herself failing to become a Master was greater than anyone else here. The dark keybearer kept her gaze to the pretty speckled pebble near her right foot as she waited for Aqua to speak.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,480px,true][atrb=cellpadding,3px,true][atrb=cellspacing,3px,true][bg=939d8f] YOU HAD TO GO, I HAD TO STAY and I'm reaching for you. (OOC: Okay, I give up. Been meaning to do something about this thread for some time, but all my muse is gone. All the excitement of BBS is now gone since this thread started, so if anyone actually wants to continue this PM me on Sora's account. I'm just gonna use this to test Sora's new posting template.)
He tried not to think about those around him, and Sora just concentrated on the task at hand. He couldn't afford to be distracted by the others during this test, unless it went wrong and someone got hurt. He was sure that wouldn't happen however, not with so many others around. It was quite an extended family this one, and a lot of friends were looking out for each other. Maybe even from a distance, even if they all weren't present.
He glanced back at Ventus, who hadn't answered him. He couldn't blame him, and for a second almost forgot he wasn't his Nobody standing next to him. The way he displayed the same expressions had been identical to Roxas, and he must have been feeling down or nervous like Roxas did sometimes. He would know... he was his Nobody after all, and felt the same way in times of pressure and expectation. And then there was...
He caught himself lost in his thoughts. There I go again, daydreaming. he scolded himself, realizing his mind had distracted himself with his friends again. So much, that everyone had already moved on ahead into the tower. With a knee-jerk reaction, he took off and picked up the pace to be the last inside.
Who knew what trials would await?
Sora has left the thread, and the thread has ended.
