Well this situation was swiftly going down hill. Exactly the same as what happened within the large city in which Cloud and Genesis met one another for the first time in a long time. Everything just seemed to go to hell and it didn't help how Cloud constantly seemed to be cautious around people. It was to be expected though, when one had ties to ShinRa in the past, who know what was lurking around the next corner? Perhaps it didn't help how the past always seemed to kept being dragged up as well. What happened in the past should remain in the past. It's not like everything will instantly become fixed were Genesis or Sephiroth attempt to seek redemption. People will always hate them, people will always admire them and people will always forget them. Does it really matter what one single person does when the large hordes of civilians will one day completely forget about it all? Take Meteor for example. Sure it happened and there was no denying it, but who still lives in fear for their lives from a massive rock plummeting towards the planet?
All the talk of Cosmos, the past returning to the three men and even Cloud and Angeal themselves suddenly became redundant, unimportant. Genesis simply cocked his head and set his eyes upon the line of spirits and other alcoholic drinks that lined the back of the bar and wondered for a moment. Was it really only Cloud that couldn't let go of the past and work towards making a better, brighter future? Sure, as the blond had said a moment ago, he didn't agree with Genesis' methods of keeping balance between the Light and Dark in order to avoid utter destruction, but would he also not agree with the LOVELESS quoter if he simply did nothing instead? It was a lose-lose situation. The auburn-haired male turned and glanced at Angeal as he heard the fellow SOLDIER Legend turn and make his way towards the exit, his words reaching his ears as well as Cloud's no doubt. Watching as Angeal made his way to the exit, Genesis's eyes flickered as if life had returned to his body. One word that Cloud spoke rung in the Scarlet SOLDIER's ears and as his raven-haired friend gestured for him to make his own way to the exit, Genesis raised a gloved hand and held up his index finger as if asking Angeal to pause a moment.
"One final question Cloud..." Genesis said as he turned himself back around to look across the bar at Strife once more. Though his shot glass was gone, the Crimson Warrior placed his hands upon the bar as if it were still there, finger cupping about an invisible object. "Have you noticed anything... 'unusual' about Sephiroth lately? Does he seem different to you?" He continued, pausing for only a second before adding on more to his sentence. "I am not asking about your past. Anything recent you know about him, might help me, help us..." Genesis said with a subtle flick of his head, motioning towards Angeal. His expression was serious and also genuine. There was also a great deal of concern, maybe even worry within his tone but he kept his eyes locked onto Strife, not standing up from his seat at the bar just yet.

I know what I want, but what do I need? If I have to take this chance, I WILL TAKE IT TODAY.
[/div][/sub]
(OOC: Sorry about the delay in reply, staff needed me to read/review threads. But if you want Shufka as Tifa's Cloud soon, Genesis, you and Angeal will want to end next post. And you're welcome, it was fun to RP with you both as Cloud while it lasted.)
He watched as Angeal left and made for the exit, his chance to come clean to the delivery boy well spent, but his chance to inspire and be respected gone with it. He could have looked up to Angeal as Zack had once done and admired the history behind the heavy sword passed down through Zack to him, but that legacy was now tainted with the blood Angeal had spilled from Zack's cheek. He didn't care if he was forced to turn on Zack, and quite frankly he didn't want to hear it, all he knew was Angeal had a chance to stop himself to avoid his honorable battle and he had failed to do so. That told Strife all he needed to know about Hewley; when push came to shove much like Genesis, he was going to look out for himself instead of friends like Zack. With Shinra or not, Angeal had been a mentor and friend to Zack, and a betrayal like that simply was unforgivable... without any kind sins wanting to be forgiven like his own. And there was no sign of it from the white-winged angel.
"Not if I see you first." he replied back to the spiritual mentor of SOLDIER, and now considered that legacy of honor and dreams to stem solely from Zack's ideals. The one I really want to meet, is...
Nor the black-winged angel, either, seemed to want to prove he had truly turned over a new leaf. Cloud expected Genesis to leave, but there was resistance. Another question, and Cloud stared at him with intense eyes, wondering if Genesis was about to change his mind and attack him on the spot just out of pure spite. But it was about Sephiroth, and while Cloud had never picked up the connection between these two and his mortal enemy, he did remember that Genesis had talked to him. So what possible reason would Genesis hold back to ask him about another person he had supposedly already spoke to, if not to make him doubt about more antagonistic manipulation by the silver-head? There was the fact that Cloud had noticed he was a little more smug than usual, but any indication he was about to answer Genesis with anything useful was hindered also by a single word that he had spoken.
"You expect me... to help you?" he demanded incredulously as he immediately interrupted the end of Genesis's last sentence, and shook his head only once in disbelief. This man had just wronged him and insinuated he was a fool o top of everything ellse, and now he wanted assistance? This reminded him all too well of when Rufus had called for him to work as muscle for him, only for Reno to enlighten him that they would 'rebuild Shin-Ra' which Cloud was not going to repeat fighting all over again. Genesis should have known better than this, asking Cloud for help, after all that had happened thus far and Cloud wanting no other information in return. "No. Nothing has changed about Sephiroth, just as nothing has changed about you." And it was the truth, for he could see through Genesis's bluff of trying to gain his trust and make him doubt about his nemesis, and the fact he had changed the alignment of one world back the Light with no cataclysmic end as Genesis had said. Besides, he didn't need more of Jenova's children to go after the χ-blade, and if they were to learn about it if not from Sephiroth already then they weren't about to learn about it from Cloud.
"You want help?" He gestured at the door, as he turned around and headed up the stairs behind the bar.
"There's the door. Not interested."

The warmth of the sun outside was growing, as most of the early afternoon clouds had begun to move onward toward the east past Midgar. The breeze that overtook the raven haired man's features was sudden, and unexpected, yet it did nothing to shake the resolve he now held within himself. A contemplative mood had been instilled within him, due to the words spoken minutes prior by Strife inside the bar. The youth was too proud and guarded for his own good, and it would seem he would only see Angeal as a monster, much like the many others who had opposed him. It was true, he was with Genesis until the end, bound by genetic similarities so closely that they could consider each other brothers by now, and yet they were still condemned to the isolation they had grown accustomed to. People's fear was too great to overcome, and the judgement created by others were hard to sway with a past as hard as their own. Still Angeal held hope for the people of this world, for people like himself and Rhapsodos whom remained the enemy in the eyes of the masses despite their desire to change. Cloud was right in the way he had reacted to them, but still Hewley felt as though the conversation could have gone better. He would not hold Strife's opinion against him, for he was entitled to it, no matter how wrong he was.
Angeal took in a deep breath of fresh air, then crossed his arms as he leaned against the wall nearest to the door, waiting on Genesis to make his exit. The raven haired former Shinra Op pondered what next measures they would have to take, after having run into a dead end for information regarding Sephiroth's intentions. The favor he had asked of the pair, to seek out the Keyblade wielders, was not odd in the slightest. It was rather the manner of which Sephiroth had addressed them that sent off warning bells inside Angeal's mind. He knew not of what a Keyblade was, but he knew fully well what kind of power one could wield if they possessed one. The boy at the Sanctuary was proof enough of such a fact, and Angeal wasn't one to immediately dismiss the legend's claim of being incapable to take them on by himself. It made sense to a certain extent why Sephiroth required his old comrade's help, but it was that he had never asked before which is what Angeal felt uneasy about. He had seen Sora in combat, and knew well enough that the boy would have had a harder time against that Kefka without the help of those Turks. Sephiroth was an individual who never needed backup, as far back as Angeal could remember, which was to the earliest days of SOLDIER.
This task seemed out of place, and the idea that the wielders of the Key would seek to use their power to become gods was starting to seem unlikely, at least in the eyes of Hewley. The boy he had fought alongside held a presence that seemed too pure to fit Sephiroth's description, so did that mean that the legend had been mistaken in his information? There was a lot to consider as Angeal awaited his crimson coated friend, yet he tried to make best sense of what he felt regarding this situation. Eventually the bell came to chime, and the door opened, to which bright blue eyes were diverted to meet the sight of the man in crimson. After but a moment, Angeal returned his gaze to the concrete of the street, and closed his eyes as he bowed his head solemnly.
"He's more difficult to get through to than Zack." he spoke with an amused chuckle, then cast a glance to Genesis with a smirk on his face. Angeal knew fully well that his friend had other ideas on who to interrogate, but he remained unsure about whether or not Rhapsodos was going to willingly run Sephiroth's errands. "Something strikes me the wrong way though." he added, having heard a muffled version of the pair's last words through the glass of the front window. Angeal wanted to address Genesis' thoughts on their task before they left, simply so they could better assess their choice of road to take. "The way Sephiroth fought at the Forgotten Capital...do you honestly believe he needs our help now?"
Angeal has exited the thread with Genesis. [[OOC: I figured it was time to wrap this up, so I basically left it up to you to finish out the ending, Genesis.]]

Genesis drummed his gloved fingers upon the bar top as he listened to the answer given to him by Cloud. Every little bit that he had expected had come and the Crimson SOLDIER simply shook his head from side to side in disappointment. It was clear as day that it were Cloud himself who cared not for the fate of this world and was too busy going about disrupting the flow of Light or Darkness on others worlds that did not belong to him. True, Genesis was doing the exact same thing, but when it came to his own home world, the fate of that came before anything else. Gaia already was flowing with a brilliant light through it's core. The Lifestream felt more alive then it ever had done before. There was nothing within the body, soul or heart of the LOVELESS quoter that was trying to drive him towards bringing Darkness to this world. Not at all. It seemed Cloud and his stubborn pride would do that all on it's own. Pride of a SOLDIER? What a load of rubbish. Cloud was just as bad as Rufus and his father, no doubt about it.
The SOLDIER Legend smirked as he pushed himself up from the bar, gently pushing the bar stool back up against bar from where he had found it. Eyes lowered down to the bar top itself, Genesis raised a hand up to and lightly brushed his fingers through the fringe of his hair, a chuckle escaping his lips in mild frustration. "No, I wasn't expecting someone like you to help me, Strife. But if you claim to hold the SOLDIER honour that Zack once had, you'd speak with your head and not with your pride." Genesis turned his back on Cloud, lifting a hand up beside his head as he waved casually while walking slowly back down the bar towards the exit, noticing Angeal already waiting outside. "Those who know nothing will understand, nothing. Cloud, your ignorance is admirable. You know just as well as I do that Sephiroth is planning something that neither you, nor I can hope to stop. A pity you're acting like such a child. I fear that by time you actually become a man, it'll be too late." Genesis' head shook from side to side once more as his hand fell back down to his side, before reaching forth to grip the door handle. After opening the door, the chime of the bell relaxing the SOLDIER of his frustration, he paused and looked back towards Strife.
"My friend, do you fly away now? To a world that abhors you and I? All that awaits you is a somber morrow, No matter where the winds may blow." And with that, the door was closed.
Turning to Angeal, Genesis' face was ridden with frustration and annoyance. The temptation to turn back around and cast Apocalypse on this puny little bar, swatting Cloud out of existence was getting much too difficult to keep under control, but Cloud was an insect. There were much greater problems to deal with and Genesis knew he'd cross paths with the blond in the near future, only this time, under much more deadly circumstances. "Cloud's ignorance is unmatched. I say he's more so then Sephiroth is arrogant." Was Genesis' reply to Angeal, his head shaking from side to side as he buried his hands into his coat pockets, keeping them there to restrain himself from setting Seventh Heaven on fire. He perked an eyebrow when Angeal spoke again. When did Sephiroth EVER need their help? Need ANYONE'S help? "He was incredibly strong... His attacks were fierce and there felt like he had murderous intent in each swing. If either of us had let up for a second.... I'd dread to think." Answered the Scarlet SOLDIER, speaking mostly to himself but he soon turned and gave Angeal his full attention. "He's never needed help with anything... he's always been the best. Why he suddenly turned about and asked for our help? I honestly don't know... Is there finally someone out in these worlds, stronger then Sephi-" Genesis cut himself off as the image of a brown, spiky haired boy came into his memory.
"I've just thought of something. Come, we have no time to waste!" And with that, Genesis departed, leaving Seventh Heaven behind as he once more returned to the stars in the sky.

I know why, the consequence is by design. And I know why, we can't keep our lies inside. And I know why, everything wrong just feels so right. And I know why, the way I live, WILL NEVER LET ME DIE!
[/div][/sub] So, really? That was it, was it?
Angeal had accepted Cloud's verdict of him like a man, and hadn't even tried to state his case to Cloud. He had once been a role model and for Zack, and Cloud considered now he had a 'honorable battle' with him which caused the demise of the 'perfect monster', but as good intentions as those were, his actions in the present had spoken louder than words. The moment he offered to pay for Genesis's drink, showing his alliance with the former antagonist, had sealed his fate and furthermore any possible trust Cloud could have now of him. He didn't speak on behalf of what his friend did either, hiding behind the excuse they had done what they did because Shinra betrayed them. Hiding, because what they had both hidden from was the ultimate truth Cloud had brought about that none of them had answered to him; their warfare had brought about the harm and loss of life to innocents, and therefore in their revenge and disregard for their fellow man they were no better than Sephiroth himself. Insanity, or not.
Cloud watched as Genesis executed small signs of frustration, but for the most part kept his composure as he spoke his words, accusing Strife wasn't using his head out of bitter resentment and he was acting childish. Cloud let him leave in silence; there was nothing more to say that he had not already repeated to him. Genesis knew well enough why Cloud did not trust him, and it went without saying. In the case of Genesis, even if the former First Class had supposedly 'changed his ways' and told him not to look at the past... how naive did he think Cloud was that Cloud could turn the other way and blindly trust him? Let him yank on the strings and be pulled along, like the puppet Sephiroth always said he was? No, it was not that reason alone, and it was not as simple as Genesis made it out to be.
He paused half-way up the stairs to the above apartment, turning and walking around from behind the staff area, following the two fallen angel's path to the door. He looked at the weather through the blinds of the windows outside as sunlight trickled in; it was a nice sunny day, only a few scattered clouds on the eastern horizon. A shame that a nice day like this could be ruined by the homecoming of the two one-winged angels, who now Cloud clearly saw had less than honorable intentions for the world. He locked the door behind them as he watched Genesis turn to look back at the bar in seething fury, observing them leave in case the crimson-coated man decided to unleash that fury at the bar out of pure spite. Instead they left, and it was quite clear to Cloud that Genesis had not gotten what he wanted from him, and with Genesis's motivations this could only be a good thing.
For the reason Cloud could not trust Genesis for his present actions, was not because he had fought him on the home world of his friend Cecil; far from it. It was because in this supposed action to redeem himself as a new 'hero', and save the worlds from a impending 'end' that was supposedly coming once Cloud had returned the Blue Planet to it's true state of Light, the 'end' that Genesis said was coming from a imbalance of Light and Dark worlds... had not come. This was the reason why he had won that battle; he was inthe right and Genesis deep down knew this. He had been out there for a while, fighting Kadaj, Kefka and Yazoo and meeting new heroes, and unless the villains were this supposed 'end' Genesis was fearful of the goddess had warned him of, this act of disturbing the natural order and spreading darkness to worlds of light was completely unfounded. Even Genesis himself had questioned if it had been Cosmos herself that was meant to be the goddess in LOVELESS, and everyone knew that Genesis's fascination with fulfilling the many interpretations of the novel was in his case his own insanity, following the words of an unknown author which had no clear purpose or goal other than to amuse audiences in the theater in Edge. Whatever Genesis had done, even he had his own doubts of what he was setting out to do was right in it's execution; how could Cloud follow a man that didn't even know where he was going, much less have founded reasons of his own to join his violent tirade in trying to accomplish it?
Acting on a whim of flights of a final fantasy... so who really was the childish one here? Not the hardened mercenary, Cloud lived in the real world where he relied on physical evidence and did not easily trust people who had once brought about a true crisis to the world; and perhaps in his anger the rapier-wielder had imposed upon Cloud his own short-comings that he could not see upon his own reflection.
No, he did not know if the author of LOVELESS had somehow stumbled upon Cosmos on a day like this and written about it, or if Genesis was desperately clinging to the skirt-tails of Cosmos as proof of a goddess that LOVELESS had a solid, true meaning in reality. But what Genesis had spoken in his own confusion of his memories... confusion that seemed too vulnerable and irrelevant to be some manipulative trick of his... of a armored goddess indicated to Strife that maybe Cosmos and Chaos were not the only gods out there. But until 'G' and his new ally Angeal could prove indeed that there was any legitimate threat to the worlds from what they have spoken of, whether it was goddesses or the fate of the balance of the worlds, it was obvious Genesis and Angeal had started to walk down a very malicious pain-inducing path that Cloud could not follow them on. Cloud had been right in using his head not to trust them just because they said he should, and with no actions to back up their claim; perhaps one day if they saved the lives of the innocents whose very existence they denied in their conversation, or prevented harm to his friends from his enemies, perhaps he could begin to trust where they were coming from along with undeniable evidence. But right now, he had bigger fish to fry in the form of Genesis's last question, about his ultimate nemesis.
Of course, there had been something different about Sephiroth; Cloud recalled his conversation with him in Radiant Garden to claim the χ-blade and use it to bring about Kingdom Hearts to merge and become a god with it. But, as for his previously stated reasons, did both Genesis and Angeal really expect that from their present actions that he was going to share that dangerous information with them? Cloud did not want to be the reason his enemies found out about the χ-blade, or Kingdom Hearts, and until he had learned that information had gone viral and the 'G' projects already knew of it he would safeguard that intel from mis-use. Who knows what Genesis and Angeal could be planning, honorable intentions aside? If anything, they were not going to only threaten this world once more, but all of the worlds out there, bringing darkness or even light forcefully upon the civilians who did not wish such a state upon their world. Either way, Cloud hoped he would not have to find out in his pursuit of his own knowledge about the χ-blade, but he had a feeling he would see the two Shinra deserters in his quest to find Sora and warn him.
Walking the length of the bar back into the staff area, and in reminder the 'G' experiments had truly left this world, the pain in his shoulder had come back again. He raised a leather gloved hand to his sleeve, and pulled down the fabric as it slid over his shoulder. All at once, painfully, a single black wing unfurled and swooped out to full wingspan in the shadows of the bar. No feathers fell, as the wing was a single webbed wing, much reminiscent to a bat's... or that of Chaos. Stretching the wing to get out the cramp, he tucked the wing back within the folds of his outfit as he looked on with bright blue mako eyes of concern... there was much left to be done.
He ascended the steps to the apartment above to gather the things he had come here for initially, and then he would be back on Fenrir, and gone from this world.
He had to hurry.
Cloud has left the thread, and the thread has ended.
