1000 years ago the Charmed Ones defeated the Ultimate Evil and made the world peaceful. They taught their children their ways to defeat evil and the cycle continued. Things became peaceful, and soon magic wasn't needed as often as it was, thus their powers weren't needed and went into a dormant state. The Charmed Ones had already passed on when this time came. Their families had split off into different countries, the family that had retained the most of the magical knowledge was the Akamatsu family, which were decendents of Piper Halliwell, they had kept the Book of Shadows when Piper passed on.
The Akamatsu family were of Japanese descent, and had become temple priests and priestesses. The Spencer family were of French descent, they were Phoebe's decendents, they too were knowledgable of magic, but they had not practiced it as much as the Akamatsu's. The Prjevalski's were the least knowledgable, they were of Russian descent and they were Paige's decendents. The demons of the Underworld have had over 1000 years to prepare to destroy the possible threats that these family's could become, especially since one daughter of each family would form the new Charmed Ones.
The only problem is, their powers are dormant and they cannot access the magic, at least not without some help. The Elders of the original Charmed Ones time summoned them to the future to prepare the new Charmed Ones for battle, but will they be accepting of their ancestors, especially when magic now is scarce? Or will evil succeed and take over the mortal world, ruling it for all eternity?
