Would you take a chance to save the world if the toll was your life? The gloomy weather and the all-together misshapen condition of the world was an immediate tell-tale sign for Domino that he’d found the third world to clear of allegiance. He could not sit idly by and allow this war to take the hearts of innocent civilians and worlds and throw them out of balance. This war was claiming worlds for both light and darkness that made the threat of battle guaranteed. You cannot have sunlight without shadows, that much is certain. Even the brightest day calls for an end when darkness takes over. It was of his belief that the two forces should work together to create harmony. Harmony is the only way to ensure peace between the worlds. The exterior courtyard was covered with malicious ivy and the puddles of a warring downpour earlier that afternoon. The elder knight had been visiting the world for close to two days now, as he attempted to brighten the atmosphere to a more neutral condition. If he were not to intervene in this world, it might eventually drown in its own sorrow. It looked as if nobody was in the castle at all, save for a few talking decorations. The void of life, Domino figured, was also an attribute to the decay of darkness around them all. This is what happens when you take the light from the darkness. ”This world needs to regain its balance. I cannot bear another moment of this insanity.”[/blockquote]

A calm voice responded to Domino's words, a voice that seemed somewhat bored and had a light annoyance to it: "and the insanity cannot bear another moment with you being out of place here." Dark flares started to rise and shape a gateway of Darkness, opening to the Corridors as a man stepped out, "so... as who I am... I should make you more in place here."
Suddenly he moved his right arm to his left shoulder as Darkness flared around it. The Darkness took some sort of shape as he pointed the shadows in Domino's direction, "what kind of Heartless will you become?" With a loud bang his arm moved back upwards as the shadowy gun fired a bullet at the man.
Whatever had come to this world mainly due to hearing the man speak and didn't really care about the world at all. It was already Dark, but the Heartless was bored. It also annoyed him that there was someone standing here that thought he could fix the world, so it was only more reason for him to start shooting at the man from the stairs to the door inside the castle.
OOC Note I took it that Domino was standing in the courtyard, yes? I hope you enjoy the thread. My muse isn't too great, so working on that. ^^; And I wasn't completely sure where Domino was as I read your post a few times over.

Destiny is a choice that I make, not one made for me.
Domino's intense decision to save the world from the horrors of war around them was interrupted by a presence familiar with the stench that occupied the castle. Domino watched as a dark portal of some sort ripped open and a man with the look of someone who no longer cared for personal hygiene. The man didn't look like a real threat, but that's when he pulled his gun.
A bullet whizzed into the shoulder of the elderly crusader, and Domino couldn't help but stagger for a quick second. Anyone who takes a bullet is going to falter for at least a moment. Domino didn't let it get to him, and he pulled out the blade of solid gold known as the Sword of Destiny and took his fighting stance. With the blade held parallel to the ground at eye level, the warrior of salvation knew that he'd need a distraction if he wanted a decent chance to get into close range with the fighter.
Above the medium-sized blade, a flash of light appeared and took the shape of a small crossbow. Without worrying about loading the energy-forged weapon, Domino began pulling a trigger, made of the same energy, with his right index finger. As the plunger pulled, a bolt was launched toward the enemy, but the attack didn't end at that. Six shots, in succession, were aimed at the Heartless, in hopes of ending the battle with his Redemption Arrows.
"I will not become a Heartless, only the man to defeat the plague that stands before me. The great Insidious the Wise, a former leader of my world, once said 'Take only for granted what you can withstand.' You cannot withstand this battle, Heartless, only an early demise awaits you should you continue to take stand today. It is my destiny to free the worlds, and nothing will stop my from accepting that destiny."
Between the words of discouragement from the student of Malachi and the arrows he fired moments prior Domino had found his way into a close enough range to test his skills with a sword. He wasn't the most skilled warrior with a blade. However, very enemy has a fault, and this Heartless seemed to be skilled at ranged warfare. Therefore, it seemed to be in Domino's best interest to take the fight into a close proximity. With a powerful diving, horizontal slash, the savior of Olympus Coliseum and Traverse Town took the battle to short distance.

While he was somewhat happy he could hit the guy, he didn't like how the man simply still stood there, how did that other guy do that? Shoot people and they fall down, why don't my opponents fall down like that and be dead? He thought to himself, still not used to working with guns. While the bullet had hit the guy, he pulled out some flashy sword. This, actually, did make the Heartless feel some anger, remembering his days as a slave. Apparently, he thought, he was fighting some rich guy that would probably kick people who had it hard in life like himself.
The entire flashy sword seemed to shape-shift into some other weapon and before Whatever knew it, a bolt hit his torso, "wh..." Quickly pulling up his free hand, a large black mist started to shift that stopped the other bolts from hitting the Heartless. The guy then started to talk all ridiculous in the Heartless' opinion as he kept his spell up, the black shroud formed a stone for his Stonera attack, but instead of immediately shooting the rock at the man, he kept it up against the bolts.
"Destiny?" He responded frustrated, "you mean it was my destiny to be a slave? My destiny to rot away in the arena?" He launched the large rock at the man while jumping backwards to evade the man that seemed to attempt striking at him. While jumping away, he once again pointed his gun in the man's direction and started shooting at random while trying to run away and at the door to enter the castle.
"The Heartless were my salvage, they were my saviours from my horrible past. If it weren't for them, I would be rotting on some arena-floor by now," he continued while busting the door into the castle and thinking to make this some kind of chase while launching more pitch-black bullets at the man. Streams of black smoke followed the projectiles that flown in all directions, as long as the Heartless didn't shoot his own legs, he didn't care where the bullets went and simply hoped he would hit the man with the seer amount he fired.
The Heartless had never used guns before he became a Heartless and so was no good at aiming, but simply fired at will. Next to that, he was more of a coward, thinking earlier about running than getting too close to his opponent. While he ran, he almost tripped over his own feet, but during his many years of combat, he was very well able to roll around if needed.
OOC Note Sorry if my post sounds kind of crappy, he's mainly responding to what Domino said and showing a little anger. Next to that he got hit by the first bolt, but was able to guard himself with Stonera from the others by forming a rock before him as a shield. He started running when Domino came nearby to strike and launched his Stonera at the same time to try and hit Domino. Afterwards he started to shoot again while running for the doors into the castle. So my Heartless just entered the castle and tries to make this some sort of chase where he's shooting randomly at Domino and try to think up some kind of trap to take him down.
In short: He got hit by first bolt, blocked the others with his Stonera, dodged the sword attacks by running before Domino got near. He fired his Stonera at Domino and shot randomly in his direction.

Anger only leads to further violence, something I must quell - - - - - "Malachi! What are those things?!" A younger version of Domino burst into a room where a man, much older than himself, sat with his eyes closed. The elder man seemed to be caught in deep meditation as the battle raged outside. The shadowy creatures had already dominated most of the southern sector of the world, and had just begun to invade the western area, where Domino and his master currently resided. "Domino, I am afraid that our world has been lost. These Heartless creatures thrive on the darkness and force the light out of one's body. They seem to be the result of one man forfeiting to the darkness in his heart. I'm afraid normal weapons won't be of much use to the creatures. The only thing I believe will harm them is a weapon forged from both light and darkness, the Sword of Destiny. You must hurry to the Nexus and retrieve it, then run away. I have taught you the Pearl of Guidance, use it to escape our world. The light will protect you from the darkness surrounding our world."- - - - - Domino watched as his first bolt of light nailed the target, but the rest were deflected by a giant stone technique. This Heartless was a lot more advanced than the majority of the shadowy species. He wasn't sure he had ever seen a creature of the darkness use magic intelligently like this before. It was as if he had all the memories of his human self in his monster-like dark form. As the savior attempted to take the fight to a close distance, the creature fired the stone spell, which nailed Domino head on, and ran from the scene. All the creature's credibility with Domino was instantly lost when he began shooting wildly, missing every single shot. "No, you have no destiny past today. Only those with a heart are worthy enough to receive a chance at a future. If you had a destiny, it would be to perish at my hands."As the creature continued to shoot without proper aiming, the hero of both light and darkness covered himself in a sphere of golden light. He instantly shot as if he were a cannonball on board a pirate vessel towards the Heartless. His Pearl of Guidance had two major functions: First, it acted as a shield to protect him from the next attack to come his way; then, he would use the technique as a transportation between worlds, but he wouldn't necessarily need that part of the ability. Domino would use his Pearl to allow him to gain a close proximity once again. Charging in, Domino attempted a dashing three-hundred and sixty degree slash towards his enemy. The fight was in close range once more. Cooldowns

While shooting at the man like crazy, he raised an eyebrow at his words. He wasn’t sure for a moment to respond as he had crashed into the castle, but the man had put up some golden shield as he came at him once more. “What do you know of a Heartless?” He asked, this time actually much calmer while stopping his constant shooting for a moment as it seemed to not matter and the man got close quickly. He thought it might be better to take this close-range for this moment, at least until the shield was gone, “my destiny is much greater! My chance at life is still present! You say I have no heart, but my dark heart within this body will continue to push my body forward!”
He pulled up his gun as the man came at him with a strike and used the force behind the attack crash over the ground and roll over. “You simply try to extinct an entire race with your antics, Dark and Light are not true evil and good, but you...” he pointed his gun towards the man again, “... are true evil! Your light needs to perish for your destiny will only bring destruction!” He started to shoot three more bullets, again these were better aimed than the last due to not running around. Instead he hoped the shield would vanish soon.

Anger leads to more anger, which leads to downfall. "I only know of you creatures though the past." Domino rushed forward once again, still urging to keep the battle in a close range. He'd failed to land his last few attempts to hit the Heartless, but he had to keep trying. This time he would try to hit hard and make it fast enough to break through his guard. This creature of darkness was definitely more skilled at staying in a medium to long range combat, so Domino would work best doing something he wasn't great at, short distance attacks. "You are a race that should not exist, and I will see to it that you are the first Heartless to taste my blade." The three bullets slammed into his shield, and the golden defense shattered as if it was just a plate of glass. However, it had served its purpose. It allowed Domino to get in close enough to attempt to see an end to this battle. It looked as if the savior staggered for a brief moment as he arched his back, but then he began to quickly levitate in midair. Six pillars of light energy emerged nearly two arms' length away and began spinning at high speeds. This was one of Domino's more devastating techniques as the first pillar would break through guards, and the rest would rapidly bludgeon the enemy into submission. Pillars of Faith was a great technique for the middle of a battle, such as this; it was perfect to pound a sizable chunk of health away when he had the enemy on the run. He wasn't done yet. Domino jumped backwards forming a ball of light between his hands. The sphere then extended into a massive 50-foot blade. In a single, horizontal slash, the hero attempted to end the battle with his Beacon of Acceptance. If he had to rank his own attacks, the pillars and the beacon would have to be numbers one and two in power. Sure, every one of his attacks had a function, but these two attacks had one major function, elimination. These were the attacks Domino used on his most dangerous enemies. He didn't think this Heartless was as devastating yet, but he survived long enough to qualify for the powerful techniques. "Retreat back to the pits of darkness, Heartless."Cooldowns

Whatever smirked a bit nervously, “hah, you mean the little black critters that don’t even...” he wasn’t able to finish his sentence when the man had continued to talk and his shield had vanished, the shield vanishing was quite a surprise to the Heartless. He wondered if he could set up an attack, but instantly, the man threw up some sort of pillars spinning.
His sentence did continue, albeit slower since he was unable to do anything else in the next two seconds, “... have... a... heart,” he finished that sentence with, his voice remained at good strength.
The man he had been fighting and shown the ability to change his sword into a crossbow and create a magical shield, had now thrown up pillars that gave off an eerie light energy. Whatever didn’t really had that much time to observe or acknowledge the pillars, as he was immediately battered before he was really able to defend himself. And even then, the first pillar would hit his gun away with ease, so he preferred to keep that thing clenched in both hands as the pillars hit him away.
Whatever crashed right into the staircase that the two had reached by now with the Heartless’ continuous attempt to run. Even there, he had no time to rest and his body felt terrible. Dark fog seemed to come from his battered body as he saw Domino throw out his next attack. A sphere of light had changed into a massive sword that came down on him, he couldn’t even say a single word in those two seconds he was hit away and now crushed into the staircase.
The sword crashed into Whatever, crushing him deep into the staircase. He could still hear Domino’s voice speak, something about retreating, if I had the strength to do so, I would, the Heartless thought while looking with a single eye around him as the other was covered in dark smoke, being damaged too much. His entire body was quite damaged as he lay buried in the staircase. If I keep quiet, he might think I’m gone, the Heartless thought to himself while trying to find the strength to actually move, some rest would do well now. In his hands, he still felt his gun, which would be his only defence currently since he was not in the position to run around like before.
The Cries of an Item Reinforced Gun: Active for one post (will be released regardless of whether Whatever wants to or not in the next post).
Status Battered, heavily wounded, stuck in the staircase at the entrance hall that go up to the ballroom and split in two more staircases to the rest of the castle. So yeah, he's in a world of pain.

Victory can only happen when the fighting ends. "Down goes Frazier! Down goes Frazier!" Those words signaled the end to an amazing contest of strength between two men. It was the arrival of Muhammad Ali to the top of the boxing ranks. This, here today, was nothing like that, but it was everything like that moment. This battle was between a man and a creature of darkness, and it had just taken just as decisive of a turn. On the stairs leading into the castle, now rested a possibly deceased Heartless who'd taken the full force of both his pillars and the beacon attack. Domino had never seen a Heartless in human form, but when the rest of the Heartless died the vanished in a puff of smoke. Why did this rogue shooter not do the same? Sure, he was releasing fog out of certain areas of his body, but he should have completely vanished, right. Domino decided that it would be better to fire again, as opposed to getting attacked from behind if he decided to ignore the potential threat. Once again, a crossbow appeared on his right arm, and six more bolts were fired towards the enemy. Redemption Arrows would be the end of this Heartless. Remembering one of the other raids, the Heartless remembered having been knocked unconscious. This time he had been able to keep his consciousness after being crushed into the ground... well, it wasn't the ground this time, but a staircase, which seemed to function in a same manner. It's a floor that goes upwards, or downwards if you liked to look at it that way.
Regardless of the fact that a staircase goes up and, or? down, the Heartless was still beaten into it and whether it was a floor or not didn't matter either. Why was he even thinking these kind of nonsense things? From the looks of it, his initial plan to drag the guy through the castle and let him fall in some traps had failed miserably. His second plan had failed even harder when the guy knocked him out so rapidly that he didn't even had the chance to finish that plan in his thoughts, only having attempted initiating it by seeing if the shield did anything with his bullets.
His final plan, as well, was a failure when the man seemed to not ignore the 'dead' Heartless and created his flashy crossbow again. The Heartless was a. a coward, b. a person that didn't care about views nor honor, and c. totally not someone that planned to hang around to get killed and earlier left things alone than otherwise. However, he was also d. a man that held some grudges towards people, so he was certain, very, very certain that he would find this man again and rub that face in this rubble he was laying.
When the man released the bolts, Darkness swirled around Whatever, "we'll... meet again," he growled in broken voice due to his beating from earlier. Then he sank away into the staircase and vanished. The Heartless had left the battle and allowed Domino his win for now.
