In a 50 Meter pool, you are required to swim the length of the pool four times, the length of the pool down and back, twice. You are to decide which swimming type to use, such as the backstroke, butterfly stroke, etc. You will have two posts to describe what you are doing including the type of stroke. Powers are prohibited in all events. The only thing that can get you disqualified if by touching the bottom of the pool. If you push off the bottom of the pool or anything, you are instantly disqualified. Try not to get dunked by the opponents. They may not play fair. In order to determine the order, the staff will be rating the posts on these qualities: Dice Roll, Creativity, Quality, and Realism. The Dice Roll will need to be rolled with a 6 sided dice. This will help order the racers and give luck a bit of a say in the race as well. When you post, you are to click the button or to use the following code: [dice=X] The number inside the code is the number of sides on the die. For this event you will need a 6! ----- Larxene let out a tired sigh. "Why am I hosting all these events again? Ugh, I am so going to kill Saix. This is Demyx's event. Not mine." There was a quiet grumbling. "Alright! Let's get this swimming thing done and over with! Rules are simple, you can't touch the bottom of the pool at all! You need to swim back and forth in the pool."Larxene made sure she was a good bit away from the pool. "No one better be using powers because I SO don't want to come in there to yell ay you about it! Be good and prepare for the event.... on your mark.... get set..... GO!" The buzzer went off to start the swimming event in the large Olympic pool the just happened to be in the middle of the stadium. Members to Post:

There was a first time for everything. But today, Terra Branford would be having her "first time" many times. She wasn't entirely used to the idea of Olympics but at first, the idea seemed fun but soon after, she gained something of an ultimatum for trying to win her event. There were whispers among the crowds during the previous events... that mages were terrible at physical activity. She couldn't help but feel that those whispers were like daggers aimed specifically at her. Easily discouraged, Branford thought back about the way she did things: she relied heavily on magic for her combat, she used magic to float and evade, her wall-running was magic-based and she wasn't particularly quick on her feet while running.
But instead of letting this get her down, force her to resign, she instead set herself a goal - to win. If she could win this event, she would show the nay-sayers that she was a capable athlete and to disprove the idea that mages were weaklings. She prepared herself for the event with a startling amount of gusto, at least until she saw what she would be wearing during the event. A fairly standard swimsuit, coloured similarly to her trademark leotard.
She was still uncomfortable with people watching her so intently but in wearing this swimming costume and standing out amidst the crowds, Branford was terrified. Their eyes. It feels like they're burning,[/color] she thought as she stood at the start of her lane. The water never looked so inviting but she'd been told not to dive until the buzzer sounded. She felt defiant at this period of time, but resisted the temptation to flee from watchful eyes. The voice of Larxene managed to ease her tension slightly as the spectators all turned eyes to her. I wouldn't want to be in the pool with her...,[/color] she thought to herself, in response to Larxene's orders. Having someone with such affinity to lighting with her in the water simply spelt trouble.
The time to prepare was upon her. She felt tense once again... the eyes were watching her and now she remembered she was in competition against a young girl and a tall spiky haired man. In the moments before the start, she felt she was the middle runner... not as large and as heavy as the man with her name but with more strength than the little blonde girl. She doubted a victory against either of them but she knew she had to try. She had her ideal to stand for.
"GO!"
With her heart skipping a beat and an accidental gasp of air, the Esperkin dove right in, feeling almost like she'd been shoved in. But she made the dive with grace, her arms and hands pointed forward. Like an arrow, she pierced the water and shot straight in. Swim through the air, swim through the air. Her mental chanting was acting as a way of reminding her how she flew as an esper... with an elegant dolphin kick. But in the water, she needed an extra omph. After the initial flicks of her legs to send her away from the stard, she quickly rose her torso to the surface, her arms pointed forward once again. She swept them outwards, using the water as a (somewhat soft) platform for a boost forward. Feeling her body pull forward, she moved her torso back underwater and resumed her dolphin kicking.
She was best suited for the Butterfly Stroke[/i] because she had already perfected half of the technique in her esper form. Her legs were acting as propulsion, her arms serving as the boosters. She quickly got into a rhythm, two kicks, surface to push and breath, two more kicks... She initially thought it would take an age for her to reach the other end, but she made it there faster than she initially thought. Though startled at the sudden arrival of the opposing pool wall, she knew she had to use it to kick off. Curling up into a ball, she span her whole body about to face her feet towards the oncoming wall. Meeting parallel, her feet now flat on the surface, she used a great deal of her strength to shove off of it. Gracefully, she arrowed herself up again, ready to resume her strokes as she straightened up underwater.
The strain of swimming was now obvious to her. The water was trying to hold her back so much, and the strength of the individual was what would pull someone through... but she was streamlined. A smooth swimsuit and a swimming cap to hide away her fluffy locks of hair. Was this a smart move? Was this going to help her? She couldn't see how her opponents were doing as each splash she made was making her eyesight blurrier and blurrier. Thankfully, she didn't need perfect eyesight for this. Swimming in a straight line as quickly as possible. It was all she needed to do now. She could feel her heart racing faster than ever before, her muscles tensing up and aching. Was this how true athletes felt? The first wall was fast approaching, and she would need to be ready to kick off again. As she approached the wall, she curled herself up once more, ready to finish the second half of this race...[rand=5624460501130679871533024124801343239341629669074711386158596724]

Apparently both her opponents were named Terra, only the girl was someone she had seen before. Krile felt it was kind of funny to have two opponents named Terra. Seeing the woman announcing this thing stay away from the water made her feel funny to splash some water her way when she would be going through the race.
This didn’t seem a good idea, though. She had to win a race, not play around in the water. She had switched her usual attire for a pink and red swimming suit. There weren’t exactly swimming classes, so she wondered if there were worlds that had loads of water and so needed underwater combat or something.
Krile hadn’t really swam a lot from what she could remember. She enjoyed riding her Wind Drake, but riding and swimming was two entirely different things. Well, she just had to enjoy the try at racing in water. Having the monk class had made her stronger than she appeared, so she was certain that she could do something with this sport, but whether she won or not would be entirely different.
“Good luck,” she told the other two while taking place at the start. Apparently they could even hinder each other, but that felt unfair to Krile, so she figured she’d try to swim at her fastest and get back here in the fastest time.
“GO!” With a single leap, she dived into the water, imagining herself as some sort of fish, hoping the dive would at least look graceful. As she shot into the water, she tried to bend upwards so she wouldn’t end up touching the ground and get back above water. Then trying to imitate a fish, she tried to swim forward with the butterfly stroke. She held that up simply towards the other side.
As she got to the other side, she brought both her arms forward while bending her legs towards her body. Placing the palms of her hands on the side and then her feet, she pushed herself back to the start. There she tried to start with a backstroke and kept that up as well. It felt, however, annoying to have her back to the other side, so she turned while swimming and continued with a butterfly stroke. She then headed and came to the start, wondering if she could immediately leave the water.[rand=4484037169254662919853348051260553154407252882855732539491033736]

Half way. 25 metres down already. Terra's heart was really pounding quite hard, something she felt as her feet met the starting wall. The single moment of respite she had against this wall was barely a relaxing moment. She had to keep thinking and preparing, curling her legs then forcing herself away as hard as possible. Again, like an arrow through water, Terra was away and continuing her rhythmic swimming motions but her breath was now running short. In such a furious attempt to pick up speed in the final 25 metres, Terra had almost forgotten a fundamental part of life - breathing.
The short gasps she made as she rose to surface for a moment were getting shorter and shorter, her movements becoming far quicker beneath the watery curtain. Fatigue. A desire to sleep or heck, even just lie down. These thoughts were promptly replacing earlier ones as the aching of her muscles settled in. How do athletes even manage this?, she thought to herself. A brief glance up from the floor and once more, she saw the pools end. Thank goodness. The last time she'd need to push away.
It almost felt like pushing an airship away now, as she curled, rolled and shoved off from the wall. Though painful, the added boost seemed far more helpful than it did before, probably because it would be the contributing factor to her finally finishing. She was already going full tilt before but she wasn't about to let her muscles give out now. She felt it'd be more painful to stop now. So onwards Terra swam, lung's almost empty, making only the tiniest of gasps now. Her legs felt fused together now, given how long they had spent side by side now.
The end was in sight, that glorious final wall that she'd only need to touch in order to finish this daunting task. Now Terra caught on that breathing would be vital, taking a far larger gasp as she surfaced, her head bobbing in and out of the water once more. A final few flicks and an outstretched arm was all she needed. Though she made the mistake of rising to the surface to touch the pools end, tapping the rough panes and almost leaping out of the water. It ended with a less-than-graceful splash but Terra was thankful she no longer had to move through this cruel and harsh element... water.
Having finished her part, she made a rather urgent dive toward the pool steps, to get out. The water was the only thing keeping her adrenaline going, as once she set foot on dry land, she dropped to her knees... knees front and together legs apart. She was somewhat used to sitting like this, but not with so little air in her lungs. She was breathing heavily, her face almost as red as the rising sun. This was a tiring task for a mage, but she only had to await the scores to see if she'd made amends and shown people that mages were as capable as athletes. All she did now was look up and hope she'd beaten the other two.

As she came to the start, she pushed herself off the side immediately again with a turn. The water was tiring her down quickly. Krile had expected it to go easy and when she started there was not so much trouble. Only now she was getting weaker, she had gotten tired quickly from the swimming, but the force she had to use to push herself forward in water was heavy.
Krile could only remember that she would play in water, but never really worked like this. It was definitely something new and while she had started with a lot of fun, it was tiring like crazy. Krile didn't even bother to try and see what her two opponents were up to. Fully concentrating on getting forward and not ram her head into the other end again. Do people really work like this daily? She questioned her previous idea of water combatants. If she ever met things like that as an opponent, she probably should flee.
Krile was already certain that this underwater idea of a class was nothing for her. Maybe she should just stick to her monk class, take some pieces from Red Mage and it could be fun to be able to summon some fishes if she wanted anything with water. If she would take a rank in Summoner, she'd be able to summon Remora.
As she thought about it, she got to the end again where she pulled up both her legs. Then she tried to twirl around a bit and pushed herself off the shore with some of her last strength. Then using all the remaining strength in her body, she tried to swim at her fastest back to the other side. This was the final 50 meters, so she hoped it would do, otherwise she'd just sink somewhere along the way. Krile didn't really pay attention to the rest anymore as long as she got to the other side. Hopefully nothing hindered in her way. Only at the other side, she started to wonder how the other two did.[rand=39952002896882011631490292299787639489233464706533758048861904376]
