The members of a team take turns running parts of a track. The person starting is to run to the next person and hand off the baton to them. This continues till the last person in the race is handed the baton and they are to run across the finish line with the baton. Each team mate will have one post to get to the finish line. Powers are prohibited in all events. You can be disqualified for dropping the baton, making a post before the team member before you in the event, preventing another competitor from passing, or impeding another team to make them lose. But, some people don't follow the rules and some of the judges might overlook this. In order to determine the order, the staff will be rating the posts on these qualities: Creativity, Quality, and Realism. No Dice Roll Needed ----- Larxene was back on the chocobo again. "Alright, another running event. Let's see how fast you guys are. A couple of you paired up already, so that's just fine. But the other two of you, silver haired guy and the girl there are together. Pick who will start the race, and who will finish it. You will need to run and pace off this baton to the other person."Larxene positioned her chocobo to follow along the racers. "No powers, no dropping the baton, and stuff. You know the rules. Just do your best. Good luck." With a sigh she started to start the race. "Alright, on your blocks.." She waited a moment. "On your mark. Get Set." She fired the gun to announce the start of the race. Members to Post:

I'm fly, the original. I'm sly, unpredicable. I'm nearly irresistible and I don't even try. I'm easily excitable. | [atrb=style, width: 100px; vertical-align: top;] | [atrb=style, background: #669966; padding: 5px; border: 3px solid #FFFF81; opacity: 0.8] Yuffie tilted her head at the metal clad woman on the chocobo. She seemed to be rambling on and on about some useless stuff about passing the baton and everything. Yuffie knew the rules to this game. She had read up about it before she had bothered scratching her name on the sign-in sheet. Though, not before perusing the people and finding a suitable team mate. This girl named Selena was perfect. She was quiet and loner-ish. She also had wings! Who couldn't beat someone with wings!
The woman on the chocobo moved a bit away and informed the racers to get to their starting block. Yuffie was extremely excited about this since she decided she was starting the race. So, she would have to not fail in handing it off to her partner. That was going to be the hardest part. Not drop the metal stick. It was now she decided to glance at the other people in this race. There was a brunette woman in a cute outfit named Yuna, as she learned from the sign-in sheet. The other person was Yazoo, a remnant that had given Avalanche a pain in the ass during Geostigma. She was determined to beat his butt in this race.
The ninja crouched and positioned herself on the starting block. Right foot on the block, left foot to push off the ground with. She had the baton in her right hand, both hands on the ground just behind the line. Yuffie listened closely to the judge now, staring at the line in front of her. The woman warned them with the usual 'on your mark, get set, go' routine, but the difference being she fired the gun instead of saying go. So, with the gunshot, she pushed off hard with her right foot, leading with her left and pushing forward and up with her hands. She was completely off.
It was a rush, she was running as fast as she possibly could, baton clenched in her fingers as she pumped her arms, enjoying every second of the adrenaline rush. She hadn't run like this in a while. It was invigorating and she knew she was going to win this. All she had to do was run 100 meters to get to Selena. Then Selena would take this baton in her right hand and cross that finish line.
All Yuffie focused on was running the track. If she looked over toward her opponent, she would lose her focus and psyche herself out. That was something the White Rose of Wutai would not do to herself. So, as soon as she saw Selena, she prayed the woman would be running before she handed her the baton. Yuffie was almost out of breathing, feeling the fatigue for running the 100 meters. Yuffie reached out her hand, baton carefully in her fingers for Selena to pluck it out. It took a bit but when she wasn't holding the baton anymore, Yuffie finally allowed herself to slow down, gasping for air, hands on her knees, leaning forward. "GO SELENA!!! YOU CAN DO IT!" She shouted, taking breathes between the words and before flopping back onto her butt to take a breather. Yuffie watched the racers to see who was going to win this whole thing. But, she knew that they were going to win. The Sephiroth clone was no match for the great ninja!

Selena wondered how she allowed the young ninja dragged into this '200 Meter Relay' event for the Olympiad tournament. When the winged woman had taken a look at the sign-up sheet for the Olympiad, this tiny girl had a lot of nerve to ask her of all people to ask her to partner up for the relay and the dark angel was impressed since most would be intimidated with her ebony wings. Even then, it had taken her a lot of convincing to pull her into the race. Must have been the charisma.mused the winged warrior as she glanced back at the ninja who was starting at the starter line of the track, I'll have to keep an eye out for her. What was her name? Yu...Yuna, no. Wasn't Yuna. Yuffie! That was it. Too many 'Y's in this race... She had seen the young brunette who she had presumed was 'Yuna' and Yazoo of all people. In her own opinion, he gun-wielding Remnant didn't seem to be the type of person who would participate in these races but Selena knew she had been wrong before.
When Larxene came along, the dark angel couldn't help but raise a brow at the choice of armor and the chocobo. And here I thought I had seen it all.mused Selena as she couldn't help but chuckle at the choice of attire. Her chuckling abruptly ended when she heard that no powers were allowed and frowned. The winged woman felt her dark wings twitch from her own irritation as she reluctantly folds them flat against her back.
I'll just have to bolt when she hands me the baton...And hope that I'm fast enough to finish the race for the both of us. mused the dark angel as she readied herself into a partial crouch right before the gun was fired. Her wings were dead weight now that Selena's aware that she can't use them for the race. She glanced over her shoulder to check on Yuffie and the distance between them that was rapidly decreasing. When the winged woman saw the ninja about 75 meters in, she started with a jog and stretched her right hand behind her to allow the Great Ninja Yuffie to pass her the baton. The jogging had eased the tension in her shoulder blades where her wings were and caused them to slowly unfold from their previously flat position so now Selena couldn't keep track of Yuffie's distance and she was unsure of how close the ninja was already.
When the dark angel glanced behind her where her right hand was, she caught sight of the glint of the metal baton behind her and mentally sighed in relief as she quickly plucks it from the ninja's hand and tightens her grip on the warm metal. One hundred meters down, one hundred to go...mused Selena with a small smirk and bolted as fast as an 'angel' could run. Her wings were completely unfolded from their position as Selena ran and she pumped her arms to encourage more speed where her wings likely slowed her down. Yuffie's cheer for her only boosted her confidence.
When the dark angel reached the remaining twenty-five meters, she closed her silver eyes and felt the rush of the adrenaline in her system. Selena was finding herself out of breath but pushed herself further. Selena only reopened her eyes when she found herself running past the finish line and quickly skidded to a stop. Not aware of who crossed the finish line first, the dark angel was out of breath as she walked around to safely cool down her muscles but then a thought ran across her mind that made her stop cold.
When did Yuffie figure out my name? I could have sworn that I wrote 'Artemis' down this time didn't I...?

Yazoo simply stared at Larxene, he had joined this event mainly because he wanted something interesting. He has a fast runner and quite an acrobatic fighter, so speed and reflexes were two of his strongest points. Along with the heights he could jump, showing that he had incredibly strong legs and further enhancing his speed, he seemed to be best at running. He was certain that this certain ninja here wouldn’t even be able to keep up with him.
Next to that, he had a perfect aim, so archery had been perhaps a bit of an idea next to this, but the Remnant hadn’t exactly been interested in the use of a bow. This specific event was interesting in that he would be paired with someone, he had always been able to work in unison with his brother, Loz, but was some hero willing to work along with him?
When hearing that he was paired with the woman named Yuna, he recalled her from the jungle, or crater, back when he fought against Cloud alongside Kadaj. The clown had ruined quite a lot back then. Well, this was definitely interesting, but he wondered if this girl was able to run fast, remembering her summon a large creature. She had also used guns, so a fellow gunner was quite interesting as well.
He walked over to Yuna after Larxene finished explaining, “I’ll take the first bit,” he simply said while looking over at Yuffie, who had taken place on the start. He felt the need to beat a familiar face to test his speed. Also it would be interesting to meet the girl, Yuffie, later again. As he had said that, he left Yuna again as he went to get the baton for passing.
From that point, he simply walked calm to the starting block and took place there. He wore his usual attire, the black leather outfit. Already for some time now, he had quitted wearing the cloak that was the same as Organization XIII wore, which was laying in his Gummi Ship. When having come here, he had come on his Gummi Ship.
At the starting block, he crouched down as well with a smirk towards Yuffie, but when the shot was released and the race started, he simply focussed on running. He was not planning to use any magic or other cheats as he was in his element with the running. His start was almost a jump forward, but low to the ground and he continued to move his legs at his fastest to get forward. In his left hand, he held the baton tight while moving like a black shadow over the racing track. He had ran quite a lot lately, mainly running after opponents or running around the fight while continuing to aim and shoot them. It was good training for this.
When he came to Yuna, he quickly reached out the baton forward and held it loosely so Yuna could quickly take it forward. If she would drop the baton, she would really kick it after her in annoyance. He was having time off from the fighting and that, so he would definitely not like it if someone would make him lose an event he was actually good at. In that case, he would even assume the three had plotted making him loose. Although, Yazoo wondered what side ‘Artemis’ was actually on, having heard her name from Kadaj.
Yazoo stood up straightened after taking a breath and looked over the field to see how his partner and Yuffie’s partner would be doing. He wondered if all the events were going smoothly.

Blue and green orbs gazed about the Coliseum in wonderment, flitting from the different contestants in nervous curiosity. Though Yuna never backed down from a challenge, she was far too mild-natured and agreeable to be considered an aggressive competitor. She smiled a little over at the bubbly raven-haired youth that was glancing about just as much as she was before the judge began to speak. The armoured lady on the chocobo immediately reminded Yuna of Commander Lucil of the Youth League back in Spira. Lucil had also held tournaments and competitions that Yuna had been involved in previously. It made the race feel a little more familiar, and the gunner felt comforted at the sight.
However, Yuna’s face paled when she turned to look at her assigned partner. It was that man, the other gunner from Deep Jungle. What was he doing here? The summoner watched him silently for a few moments, an anxious knot forming in her stomach.
She frowned at his brief statement. However, he was here alone, just like she was without the Gullwings. Perhaps this was something he wanted to compete in fairly, without his siblings..? Maybe he wanted to prove himself, like she was here to prove herself. She supposed at the very least, it was good that he was her partner, and no one else had the misfortune of being paired off with someone so cruel. The race allowed no powers or weapons, and judges were around, so she doubted he would get away with trying anything funny. Still, it unsettled her. Relays were about team work, and trust. If she’d been with the Gullwings, she would have discussed signals and exchanged words of encouragement before the competition started, but with this person...
Yuna took a deep breath.
”Hey...” she called over the man’s shoulder, as he walked past. ”Good luck.”
She wrinkled her nose when he didn’t turn around. There was nothing else for it. Just this once, they’d have to see each other not as enemies, but as allies. Just this once, Yuna told herself. And who knew? Maybe he would see that it wasn’t so bad working with the other side. If anything got out of hand, she could confront him later. So far though, apart from being rather listless and unenthusiastic about something he’d supposedly joined by choice, he hadn’t done anything really suspicious. Now Yuna had another reason to win this race. Not just for herself, but to prove to the silver-haired man that it was possible to co-operate with those you didn’t agree with either.
At the judges’ signal, the summoner moved to her place and began stretching her arms and legs, as she’d seen Tidus do before a blitz game. She tucked one knee beneath her, the other leg stretched out a bit further back to propel her and listened out for the first runners.
When she had gone on her pilgrimage four years ago, she’d never really done much running and would tire easily. Back then her magic and her aeons that did most of the work for her. However, these past few years, travelling with the Gullwings had given her the opportunity to build her stamina. She still wasn’t quite as energetic as Rikku (who was?), but she’d definitely become more agile than before. She’d learn to run better than before at least, her limbs no longer splaying out before her every which way, though her arms still had a tendency to fly out on their own. Her resilient nature meant that she was determined not to stop until she reached her goal.
When the sound of feet hitting against the track grew loud enough to hear in the distance, Yuna twisted her torso slightly to take a look. Yazoo was making his way to her in the distance. She turned back, but reached her hand out, fingers curved loosely to better grab the baton. Her heart beat picked up a little when the footsteps thundered closer, but she didn’t look back, fearing that she’d lose her sense of direction and curve off the track.
As soon as she felt the metal touch her palm, her fingers closed over it and she pushed herself forwards. Rather than shooting off straight away and later exhausting herself, she sprinted the first few meters, allowing her body to warm up, then gradually thrust her limbs harder to gain speed the further up the track she got. She did not look behind her, knowing that Yazoo being her enemy was distraction enough. The sides of the track blurred past her as she ran. She was vaguely thankful that the new outfit Rikku had given her upon joining the Gullwings was also much lighter and easier to move in than the rich, heavy material that her summoner’s sleeves and robes were made from. Her shorter hair also flickered out behind her as she rushed by, no longer weighing down damply on her neck like it would have a few years ago. However, she could feel her breath coming in short gasps and her face burning.
She bent her head for the distant finish line, her grip on the baton tight, as though it were a sphere she’d just climbed the whole of Mt. Gagazet to find. She only hoped that the cylinder wouldn’t slip from her hand from the sweat. It didn’t though, and though her lungs were filled with fire by the end of it, Yuna pushed on to the finish line. There, she slowed her run only to plonk herself down on the ground before she could get to walking speed, her hair matted to her face and breathing hard. She smiled dizzily, still not quite able to let go of the baton.
