This year, the queen had learned of a fun little holiday that many children celebrated. It was something called "Halloween". Little children would get dressed up as someone else, or someone they adored and would beg for candy. The Queen quite enjoyed people grovelling so she decided she would participate as well and chose the best costume of them all!
The Queen would dress up as her favorite person... HERSELF! The Queen expected other to marvel at her adorable outfit and grovel for candy she may or may not give depending on their performance. Anyone who's costume she did not like she would have them lose their head. For anyone that did not grovel well enough, they would probably lost their head as well. If they happened to convince her of how beautiful she was, she may give them a bit of candy to appease them.
"Oh! This is going to be thrilling!" The Queen marveled to herself, a cruel smirk appearing on her face. "All those children coming here... I can't wait! GUARDS! Go open the gates and find people to come "trick or treat"-ing. NOW! OR IT'S OFF WITH YOUR HEADS!"
The guards scrambled at her orders and instantly ran off to find victims to appease the queen. This would be the best Halloween ever. ---- [Note: This is a trick or treat thread that anyone can join. You may use your powers if you like but if you want to keep your head, it is reccomended you simply collect your candy or trick and leave. ---- Ok, here's how the event works. If you roll an even number you will get a treat. However, if you roll an odd number you will be tricked, or make the queen want your head removed. In the event you at the mercy of the queen, you may attempt to trick her back by rolling once more. If the roll is even your trick is successful, if it is odd, you will fail. If it succeeds you will get some munny. [ r a n d ]

Vivi wandered through the strange world in awe of the lovely rose bushes that flanked the path he was walking down. Every time he would come to an opening, he would ponder which way to turn and being uncertain, simply turned the way that looked the easiest. The blossoms of the roses filled the area with a sweetness and relaxed the little mage as he wandered aimlessly about the maze.
Suddenly he heard the clamoring sounds of someone rushing. Uncertain which direction it was coming from, Vivi turned in a full circle, trying to catch wind of who was rushing. With his back turned, Vivi was pushed down into the ground and someone ran over him, calling about being too late to even say hello or goodbye. Vivi sat up to find he'd crashed into one of the rose bushes and was now totally wrapped in the branches, making him look like a lovely rose bouquet. His hat was missing and he began looking through the vines to find it when he was grabbed by the shoulders.
"You'll do." Said the card soldiers as they began pulling Vivi along with them. The littlest mage trembled in their grasp as he was dragged forcefully from the maze and into the court of the Queen. Propped up and set to rights, the cards separated.
"The Queen of Hearts, Presiding!" The cards all saluted. Vivi looked up in confusion and bowed politely, dazed as to what was going on. "Commoner! You may now "trick or treat!"
Vivi finally realized what was going on. They thought the roses with their stems down his shirt were a costume. They thought he'd INTENDED to look like a giant heart shaped rose bouquet...
Ever humble, Vivi kept his head bowed as he approached the Queen and mumbled shyly.
"Trick or Treat, Y-your majesty."

The queen waiting very impatiently for the arrival of any trick or treaters. Was there a possibility that maybe there were no children to trick or treat. If that was the case, she would have to force the cards to trick or treat. However, as she began to think of way to compensate for the absence of children, a delightful thing happened. It seemed the cards has wandered across a small creature dressed as a rose bush! It was the best costume idea she had seen yet and it infuriated her.
"How dare you dress more interesting than I!" She huffed and folded her arms angrily. "OFF WITH HIS HEAD!" She shouted. A few of the guards looked at each other before shifting to do so.
Yet the very late rabbit appeared, the same one that had knocked the poor boy into the bushes. "U-um, Your majesty.... If you have his head removed, it might scare the other trick or treaters away. Maybe playing a trick on him would be better? Though, I'm sure threatening t-to take of his head w-would be enough of a t-trick."
The queen pondered over this statement for a moment before shrugging it off. "Very well, he will keep his head. That was your trick. Do you have anything to say?" This was the chance for the boy to try trick or treating again. If he was successful, he would receive his prize. If not, he would not. ---- [*giggling* I love your post, dear. But since you rolled a negative number, you're going to get tricked. Hopefully you'll be able to roll again in your next post to determine if you can get "candy" next round!]

Vivi looked up in surprise at the almost compliment about his unintentional costume. She liked it? He bowed his head again and felt his face warm even if no one could see the blush.
Her quick change in mood caused him to jump and look up in sheer terror. What in the world was going on? This had to be the strangest thing he'd ever had happen to him, and that was saying something!
The littlest mage quickly backed away from the Queen's risen thrown and into a line of card soldiers which tumbled down. Even as the white rabbit was calming the tyrant Queen, the cards were falling all around him like dominoes... and heading for the birdcage lever...
Vivi tried to call out a warning, but it was too late. By the time he had raised his voice, the lever was pulled and the cage dropped to the ground, making a loud clattering sound from behind the Queen. Vivi was certain she would be angry about the fright... He began backing away slowly so as not to attract any attention.
"...I...I didn't mean to... I mean... it... I tried to warn you..."
((Hehehe I expected far worse, actually. ^_^- It was HER roses he was covered in, I half expected her to be angry about that regardless!))

Her guards were completely incompetent and it was rather frustrating. The had dropped the cage near her and all she could do was just in fright at the noise. Oh! She could feel her face turning beat red. How dare they make her look like a fool. It wasn't long till her eyes fell on the boy dressed as a rose bush.
He warned them? Oh, no. Did he think he was better then them? That was the last straw. "Where did you find him!?" She shouted at the cards. One came up and whispered in her ear that he had found him in the garden stuck in a rose bush. The Queen's eyes narrowed, taking a closer look at his costume. YES! THEY WERE HER ROSES!
"THIEF!" She shouted, practically pulling her hair out and jumping up and down a few times before pointing angrily at the mage. "GET HIM! RETRIEVE THE ROSES! AND REMOVE HIS HEAD!" She shouted at her mostly fallen army of cards. The Queen had completely blown a gasket.
The cards, however, began to clatter and make noise as they tried to get up to follow the queen's orders. The boy better run now before the guards were able to order themselves enough to catch him. Well, this was the beginning of a wonderful Halloween in Wonderland. ---- [Hm, that is a good point! ^^' I'm sorry you didn't get any munny from this one, but kudos for getting two 9's. Feel free to make an exit post if you want. I'm surprised more people aren't participating. ^^']

Upon hearing the second request for his head, Vivi began running back the way he'd been brought in and soon found himself again running through the maze. He spotted his hat in the distance and began grabbing the flowers that clung to him, flinging them right and left, reaching down for his hat as he ran by and clasping it to his head as he ran. He ran as fast as he could, pausing only to check left and right for dead ends before he tripped and was once again hurtled into a Dark Corridor.
For once Vivi was grateful. He definitely liked having his head... He took his hat off and dusted it.
...who would have thought trick or treating could be so life threatening?
(Vivi exits the thread. ^_^- Thanks for the fun time!)
