In Radiant Gardens there existed a duck, a duck that had a passion for making dough that dwarfed anyone else’s. He was a greedy little duck, always counting every penny and never sharing his fortune with others. How did he make this fortune you ask? Simple… selling Sea-Salt Ice Cream. Indeed, this duck while rather greedy, was rather smart and always thought outside the box as to what people wanted. When he gave it some thought, he knew people often enjoyed a combination of salty and sweet, often times in the form of French fries and a chocolate shake when discussed. And thus the idea was formed in the duck’s head and to work he went. He toiled endlessly, combining varying amounts of ingredients but after a long phase of trial and error he had created the delicious treat that many enjoyed. Within days of its creation, the treat spread far and wide, reaching other worlds and all the while making said duck’s wallet even fatter. Yes, it grew fatter and fatter, continues to grow fat to this day, and he enjoys swimming in the giant pile of gold he has accumulated over time.
Yet, as was always the case, people begun to ask him to share his wealth and it was something he certainly didn’t want to do. After all, he worked his tail off to make all that money, why should he be giving his hard-earned cash to random strangers? No, he didn’t agree with the philanthropic philosophy and made sure to keep his money all to himself. At least that was his original plan but as the whiners complained louder and louder, his patience begun to wear thin. Day in and day out, he’d hear shmucks say that he should be taxed more, that because he made more money he should pay more. While the idea was laughable at first, everyone had a breaking point and what finally broke the straw on the camel’s back was a visit from his nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
Yes on the day before Hallow’s Eve they came, asking their Uncle Scrooge what he would be doing for Halloween. He scoffed at their question, answering that he’d do what he always did, work hard and make money. They frowned at this, quickly noting that he should try to get in the spirit of things and provide passing trick-or-treaters treats. As the words escaped their collective beaks though, Mr. Scrooge’s brilliant mind considered something… Halloween wasn’t all about hand-outs. Indeed, as the phrase implies, “trick-or-treat” meant that not only treats were given to those that visited but also tricks. He smiled mischievously as the thought of pranking those that would cry about him getting taxed more. Surely they would come to his mansion on Halloween, surely demanding handouts as beggars often did. Then when the opportunity presented itself, he would give them a trick instead and send them running for the hills! Yes this plan was brilliant and there was no way it would fail, Mr. Scrooge wouldn’t allow it! At that point he then assured his three nephews that he would take their advice, not mentioning the part about where he was going to trick anyone that came by. They smiled at this, happy that their uncle would consider such a thing as he was often a very stubborn and cheap duck.
And soon after came the day of Hallow’s Eve, and after many hours spent advertising, everyone knew that Scrooge McDuck was now participating in the holiday. Indeed, he was participating in it and people were beginning to believe that perhaps Scrooge McDuck finally had a change of heart. They believed that he was finally giving back to the people that deserved it (for no apparent reason). Unfortunately for them, they couldn’t be any more mistaken and the mischievous duck eagerly awaited his first victim.
OOC: This is a trick or treat thread that anyone can join. Also you can use your powers if you like but be warned that... Scrooge McDuck has some of the best security in the world ^_^! That aside, put this code either in the beginning or end of your post...
If you roll an even number you will get a treat but if you roll an odd number you will be tricked ^_^! In the event you are tricked, you may attempt to trick Scrooge back via another roll using the above code. If even your trick will be successful, if odd it will fail. If it succeeds you will get munny but if you fail you'll get another trick! At any rate hope you have fun with this guys and check out Beasts T&T thread and the Queen of Heart's T&T thread while you're at it!
