[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,480px,true][atrb=cellpadding,3px,true][atrb=cellspacing,3px,true][bg=939d8f] What if I'm not the same What if I never let go of the blame
Disney Castle. A sanctuary, and one of the few strongholds of the Light. Not to say that Darkness users with good intentions were denied refuge; those who were accepted here the contrast of their hearts was the same. It was a brilliant sunny day, and quite literally there was almost no clouds in the sky - it had been deocated with scattered clouds of white, but had been blown away by the wind - and the high noon of the sun seemed to suggest the bright warmth of the natural state of this world. Full of vibrance, full of life, and this flavor of world a benevolent nature of it's citizens under all the quirkly looks, laughs and vibrant crayon colors. The world was reveling in the Light, but even Light could not stretch on forever, or even take shape without Darkness.
After a long meeting with some of the new heroes that had gathered from the worlds to unite under Disney Castle's banner of righteousness and justice, each marvelous hero had filed out one by one, leaving Sora alone to be the last one remaining in the Audience Chamber. Looking about the empty throne room, he was suddenly reminded of why he was here in the first place; to check up on his beloved friends Donald, Goofy, and the King himself. And yet, looking about, none of them were in sight. Maybe because like himself, Sora was not on his home world or his island, but like them out among the worlds keeping the peace and bringing order where the malevolent darkness wrought it. He had decided to go and check on the Cornerstone, the orb of light beneath the throne room which was the strong mystical ward that kept evil out of this safe zone, and before he knew it he was before the glowing crystal itself.
It was still as bright, and gave out a warm benevolent light as Sora had remembered it, much like his world when it was at peace. There wasn't any signs of shadows or darkness in the brilliant white room, just the strange door that lead to the past of Disney Castle called Timeless River, and everything seemed to be in it's place. Content he wouldn't have to fight anyone, he felt it was time the other worlds would be calling him; leaving the secret chamber behind, he returned to ground level of the Audience Chamber again to prepare to leave the place as he found it. He'd have to check on his friends like Aladdin, Jack Skellington, Captain Jack, Ariel, Simba, Tarzan... the worlds and list of comrades went on and on. But one thing was for sure, as he stood on the closed platform that covered back over the entrance that lead to the Cornerstone that the King's and Queen's throne was upon; the people he was looking for on his journey were not here.
There was the sound of movement at the small door that was inlaid of the giant towering double-doors of the room, and a crossing of a shadow over the light that shone underneath it. Someone was here... but they did not make their presence like one of the heroes that had just left. Something was wrong... there was something off in the air, a strange silence that seemed to signal something was wrong... it was too quiet. The boy in red crossed an arm over his chest to place on his shoulder to hold it in place, while he rotated the other arm in it's socket as if to work out the kinks and cracks in it as he stretched. Not having a reason to be holding his kingdom key in any hand, Sora paused slightly to wait to see who it was entering the gateway before him, getting a forboding feeling he'd be needing a serious reason to stretch out the way he was sometime very soon.

Everything was peaceful, showered in the brilliance of Light. There wasn't a hint of Darkness anywhere, at least not visually. There were the tiniest specks here and there, lurking about, loitering in the shadows and always vanishing from being discovered. Light cannot exist without the Darkness, no matter how much one side of the war tried to fight, they would never extinguish the other. Even if they was somehow possible, the entire scenario would simply repeat itself. Everything would start anew and the same result was surface, whether in victory for Dark or Light. The Remnant Leader and his brethren could knock down the Users of Light, but they would only resurface at a later date to repeat the battles that had come before. It was exactly the same as the fate of the worlds, of all worlds. The cycle was never ending. To some, this was unacceptable and those who wanted a change fought for what they thought was right. To others relished in it, knowing that an eternity of fighting, battle, conflict would be forever lasting. To the rest, they simply didn't care.
The shortest of the trio of leather clad Remnants, belonged to the group of beings that relished in such a wondrous thought. An eternity of battle. A war that lasted forever. Knowing that you can die at any moment, that this day could be your very last, only to be reborn at a later date, stronger then before and with a greater desire to achieve what you had failed to accomplish last time. The weak existed to feed the strong. The weak died and the strong lived. The strong stood head and shoulders over the weak and the Remnant Leader, he knew he was strong. He knew he was agile. He knew that there was only a handful of people alive that matched his power, his speed, his intellect. One such individual was supposed the infamous Masked Man, but once the silver-haired youth had tracked him down, the coward fled the battle field, obviously in fear of meeting Death. The itch of meeting someone stronger then himself, the hunger to cross blades with a foe with greater strength, the addiction to the adrenaline that pumped violently through his veins... None of it was satisfied. Quite the opposite. Masked Man turned out to be a major let down, a massive disappointment that literally forced the Remnant Leader to seek out an old enemy, one who he knew would not run away from a fight.
Sora, Keyblade Master and only Keybarer who could stand up to the Remnant.
The bright and cheerful day didn't seem to faze the Remnant as he strode down the hallways of Disney Castle. The few servants and workers who he came across were left unharmed as they hurried down other corridors and carpeted halls to get out of the youth's path. The sheer brilliance of the worlds core was of no interest either, for Kadaj cared not if this world remained in the Light or was turned to the Darkness. He just needed to have that itch scratched, that desire fore filled, that addiction satisfied. Leather boots clomped upon the carpets covering the hard marble floors, echoing subtly down the path he walked and back along the route he came. There might always be the chance that the Mouse King could be here, but he and Kadaj had met recently at the Crossroads, land of Keyblades. Could he have recovered from battle and made it back to this world before the Remnant? It would certainly prove to be more interesting if he had but Kadaj didn't care at all. He wanted to find Sora and he wanted to battle him. It was as simple as that and what fitting location was there then the same one where Keybarer and Remnant last met? Gilgamesh and that slaughtered Horseman Valeruis were here last time too, but not now. There would be no distractions.
Coming to a halt, the echos of footsteps falling silent, Kadaj paused for a moment as he listened to a few of the birds outside in the courtyard chirp and sing their songs, totally oblivious to who was standing nearby. Smirking and letting a small 'heh' escape his nose, he turned off to his right and set his eyes upon the massive double doors that lead into the throne room. The Cornerstone of Light was located under the throne room and what better way to attract the Users of Light then to mess around with that massive crystal a little bit? The fluctuations would be felt across the entire world. If any User of Light was near the castle, they'd detect the change instantly. Creaking leather silenced the singing birds as Kadaj reached a hand behind himself, grasping leather bound fingers tightly about the wrapped handle of his Souba. A brilliant song was sung from the weapon as it slipped free from the scabbard, the blades singing a duet with one another as the edges cut the air that surrounded them. Lifting the weapon up to eye level, holding the majestic weapon before himself, Kadaj smirked at his reflection in the polished blades before lifting it higher in the air to arms length. With a flash of vicious intent within his turquoise eyes, Kadaj brought the blade down before him in a swift slice, twisting his wrist at the same time as he cut through the air before him. At first nothing happened, but a sudden crack came from the massive double doors as they were suddenly sliced apart, falling from their hinges and crashing loudly into the throne room, throwing up small clouds of dust that missed during cleaning.
Striding forwards through the destruction, the silver-haired youth entered the throne room and laid eyes upon the one who he was seeking. How convenient! The Keyblade Master was already present and no needless energy had to be spent to tamper with the Cornerstone. Perfect. Grinning his usual smirk, the Remnant walked calmly into the middle of the throne room, the Souba within his grasp returning to it's scabbard for a moment as he positioned himself just a few feet in front of the brunette. "Fancy meeting you here." He said, still smirking. "I hope you'll be sticking around for a while longer. I have a couple of questions I want to ask, if you don't mind?" The youth spoke, folding his arms across his chest as he raised his head and looked down upon the Keybarer as if he were lower class scum. Successfully managing to hold back the urge to redraw his Souba and launch into an attack, there was no harm in simply asking a couple of questions before the fun began. Better to ask while Sora still had the ability to talk as well, for this time the battle was NOT going to go his way. Victory would belong to the Remnant Leader and once more, he was going to prove just how weak the Keybarers were.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,480px,true][atrb=cellpadding,3px,true][atrb=cellspacing,3px,true][bg=939d8f] What if you drag me back again What if I would let you just pretend And Sora's hunch was right, because there was the faintest reverberation of... a blade being drawn? Had Sora breathed, he would have missed it... but why would anyone good drawn a blade within these halls? Sora began to walk towards the exit of the room to see if someone had withdrawn their weapon to show off to another hero, when suddenly the entire wall of a door before him exploded, forcing him to ground himself by flattening his rounded shoes to the red carpet beneath him and bracing himself in a solid stance with his legs arched widely apart. Sora grunted slightly and through an arm across his head, both to protect his cranium from being pelted from flying pieces of rubble and to filter his azure blue eyes further from the incoming dust cloud that washed over him. It would be a moment before the dust settled that Sora could use his senses to peer across the threshold, and see the familiar avatar of Sephiroth that emerged as the cause behind the castle's calamity.
His silhouette forming shape and context as he strided forward, the brunette creased his brow in concern slightly in recognition as he recognised who it was. The loud crash of the pieces of door he had just sliced through echoed thunderously thoughout the room, but it only just left Sora with a incredulous look on his face. After the Remnant leader had performed his unnecessary entrance, the Key to Everything simply scoffed. "Didn't think I'd see you again... it's called a door for a reason, you know." His arm he had crossed over to hold his shoulder whilst stretching, which he had used to shield himself from the debris, lowered to hang back down his side as he sized the silver-head up once more.
"Back again for round two, huh?" he smiled smugly at the thought, despite the destroyed door to the Audience Chamber, remembering the wielder of the two-bladed katana he was putting back in it's scabbard having lost to him before in order to restore Disney Castle to peace once more. "Something tells me you didn't just walk in here and destroy that door just to talk. I know who you are, you know. You're Kadaj, and you're not really Sephiroth's brother, are you?" he became the first to question, turning the querying back on him. There were other things Sephiroth had decided to indulge in dropping hints about what Sora thought was his 'little brother', and a way he could sort out fact from the lies. But even if it was all lies, it didn't really matter. The demonstration just now that the leather-clad man had shown disregard for the kingdom by slicing through the building like a one-man demolition team re-enforced the fact that he was an enemy on the warpath that needed to be stopped.
He didn't know what questions Kadaj wanted to ask him... but he had a suspicion it would be something Kadaj was unfamiliar with and he wasn't, which would be about one thing. The χ-blade, the supposed legendary keyblade Aqua and Ventus had warned him had could summon Kingdom Hearts directly, and could prove devastating to everyone if such power fell into the wrong hands. Did Sephiroth wish to warn him about Kadaj, so that his biggest two threats would be distracted with one another while he battled with Cloud over the χ-blade? And whether it was truth or fiction created with his silver tongue, what did he have to gain by bringing Sora up to speed about this man before him that resembled him so? Sora wasn't about to give any new information to his former opponent, but there was no denying that once words were no longer satisfying enough, the clashing of blades, skill and power between them would be all but inevitable within this kingdom's very walls.

The subtle echo of leather boots bounced around the room over that of small pieces of rubble settling upon the throne room's floor. Soon enough, the only sound coming from the massive chamber above the Cornerstone of Light was that of settling dust which that in itself soon died down to return this part of the castle to silence. The massive doors were destroyed, locks sliced in half and hinges shattered beyond repair that allowed a fairly strong breeze to blow in from the courtyard outside. Sounds of the birds were slowly starting to come back to life after they silenced themselves from the loud noise that had came just moments before. Muttering and murmurs of castle servants and guests softly echoed either way down the hallway outside, onlookers to witness the destruction both baffled and enraged as to why someone would just enter this place and cause damage. They were smart enough to at least stay away from the hole which was once a large set of double doors.
As the gap between Keybarer and Remnant was brought to a tiny distance, Kadaj looming over the brunette and peered down at him with those glowing, murderous eyes. Sora's voice echoed about the throne room but it seemed to have gone totally unheard by the silver-haired youth himself. He wasn't going to answer anything about himself or anything that had to involve that traitor Sephiroth. He'd be getting what was coming for him and that was all there was to it. Same thing could be said for the Keybarers, but at this particular moment in time, all the Remnant was looking for was a good fight. The day in which Kadaj drove his Souba through Sora's chest was not today. He'd not kill the best there was straight off the bat. Where would the fun be in chasing down the weaker fools who'd not put up much of a fight? Of course the true prize was to stand victorious over the body of the Chosen One, everything else was just collateral damage, a means of acquiring strength for the battle on the horizon. Granted that the Keybarers were nuisances themselves and perhaps a hunt to find and defeat all of them was in order?
Raising a hand before himself, Kadaj smirked as he stepped back with one foot, swinging his arm before himself and curled it about his stomach while kneeling down slightly as he bowed to the Keybarer rather sarcastically. Standing back upright after the little display, Kadaj tilted his head back and looked down his nose at the brunette, grinning wildly. "I'm honoured you remember me." Was the only answer the youth before him was going to receive for his questions. The silver-haired Remnant had sought out Sora and he was Sora who was going to be answering the questions. Though the questions asked were most likely not going to be the ones he'd most expect. Sephiroth was smart and Kadaj had the smallest inclining that the Chosen One may way have spoken to Sora between now and when last they met. Who knows what information might have been shared between the two. Just to be safe, mentioning the X-Blade was going to be avoided. "I bumped into a strange fellow who called himself, 'Masked Man' the other day. What do you know of him? I heard he defeated Stroud with little effort." Kadaj folded his arms across his chest, peering off to his right after speaking to cast his turquoise eyes upon one of the large doors that rested upon cracked floor nearby.
Keeping his eyes on the destroyed, huge object, he spoke up again. "He defeats a Heartless Horseman and then shows up in Neverland, supposedly corrupting the Keyhole there with some strange purple aura. He defeats a Horseman as a Hero then defiles a world's core as a Villain?" The silver-haired youth turned back to Sora, peering at him curiously with arms still folded across his chest. He was fighting the urge to draw his Souba and just unleash a relentless flurry of Draw Slashes at the boy before him. He was so pumped up from meeting the Masked Man and without being able to battle him, the need to release this tension on someone was swiftly growing harder and harder to maintain. Whether the brunette would answer him was of no importance. Kadaj would find out who this Masked Man was by other means and would once again attempt to cross blades with him to see what he was made of. But for now, the moment question time ended, the battle would begin!

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,480px,true][atrb=cellpadding,3px,true][atrb=cellspacing,3px,true][bg=939d8f] I erase this memory I escape this gravity Yeah, it figured. Tall, dark and ugly wasn't going to answer him. What was the point of asking the enemy the question if you couldn't trust them with the answer? Sora actually smirked in some humor, indifferent to the antagonistic attitude meant to intimidate him and casually folded his hands behind his back smugly in a relaxed position. "Only heard of your name from Sephiroth... and he doesn't seem to revere your name much, either."
There were no windows in the Audience Chamber, but the ivory walls and the light atmosphere of the place much more so now the doors had been recklessly sliced off their hinges, brightened up the room in addition to the incoming flood of light from the outside hall Kadaj had entered through. The dust was all but gone and the rubble crumbling to gravity upon the floor, the only indication left to the damage done. It was surprising to hear the ambiance of birds filter through from the garden outside, as if unaware of any impending danger that was about to ensue. They could be heard through the echo of the chamber, along with Kadaj's voice, and the residents of the castle that were not the prominent figures Sora had travelled with and met more than once on his journeys. They were wise when they spotted him with the man clad in black leather to let him handle the situation and stay out of harm's way.
"Masked Man? What kind of a name is that? Never heard of the guy... who are you talking about?" Sora answered, like Kadaj not giving him the answer he wanted, but unlike Kadaj innocently and naively did not have the information at hand. He wasn't at the final battle with the Heartless Horsemen, he had been barred by Sephiroth until he had heard what he had to say, and then after that met with a army of Dark Followers that had poured out of the End of the World like an endless stream of freight trains and just as hard to boot. So what was this guy going on about this 'Masked Man' character for? He listened a bit more to what the villain had to say, before making a short laugh and lowering his hands away from his head and back down to his side.
"You know, you don't have to be a hero to take care of another bad guy. No-one's calling you a hero if you decided to knock Sephiroth down a peg or two. But corrupting a keyhole, huh? I won't take your word for it... I know what you're trying to do. Heard around and thought you could psyche me out with some lame made-up guy, huh? Well..." he paused, hunching down into his trademark battle posture, summoning the glittering Kingdom Key into his hands in a flash of purest light, legs buckled apart and the silver handle of the keyblade tightened between two gloved hands. "...you're not going to get to me that easy!" he declared, feeling the height of the conversation was going to reach it's boiling point before a fight broke out. It wouldn't be the first time this man had launched a surprise attack on him, and he wasn't about to let him get the upper hand so early this time around. It was a good thing they were fighting in this large enclosed space, because it meant little room for the Shinra afterthought to summon his pet dragon in here. It would be a honorable sword fight for king of the castle... and Sora was prepared to make sure His Majesty would keep his crown.

Sora's fascination with Sephiroth was disturbing. It looked like he held strong feelings for the One Winged Angel. Was it what they called, 'love'? A smirk spread itself across the features of the Remnant as he lowered his arms from his chest, one falling down to his side as the other was brought up towards his face, resting curled fingers upon his brow as the Remnant chuckled to himself. Turning his back on the Keybarer, Kadaj flicked his hand away from his face as brushing hair away from his eyes. Indeed, he caught the silver strands they flicked out before him slightly before turning to covering his face and the youth continued to chuckle. Was it interesting, or infuriating? Wasn't Sora supposed to be the Keyblade Master? The best of the best? How could he not know of the Masked Man? The boy's theory for attempting to psyche him out was an utterly pathetic, but that ignorance would be cured when the Masked Man decided to pay the Keybarer a visit personally. Or maybe he wouldn't, depending if the Remnant could defeat him first.
The silver0haired youth kept his back on the brunette, merely glancing over his shoulder as his turquoise eyes shone through his silver hair. "I forgot you were just a child with a key. How foolish. I mistook you for something greater. Of course, little boys too busy experiencing puberty don't know that anything else exists other then what they can see and feel. Too busy thinking of a way to chat up Kairi over doing your research on possible future threats? I have no idea whose side Masked Man stands on, but it certainly isn't mine. From his actions in Neverland, he's not on yours either." Kadaj looked away, his eyes peering towards the thrones at the back of the huge room. Turning himself about to face the thrones directly, Kadaj let out a small sigh as he tilted his head. "Pity the coward fled before I could engage him in combat. Would have been interesting to see what he was made of. Taking out that clown Stroud was no easy feat I'm sure for a seasoned warrior, though you'd not know anything about that." Kadaj grinned with a glance over his shoulder. "Though his lackeys weren't anything to boast about. Valerius fought alongside me in two past battles... shame he was all talk. He was hardly worth the effort to kill."
Kadaj whirled around suddenly, one of his arms raising up to eye-level as he pointed a finger towards the ceiling. "However!" He began, eyes flashing dangerously. "You on the other hand..." The leather clad Remnant paused as he reached for his Souba, clenched his gloved fingers about the handle before sliding it free from it's scabbard, the twin blades singing their song together once again. "... will make a very enjoyable opponent. I care not for this world. I have no desire to see it turned to Darkness. I just want to see you kneeling before me in defeat!!" With that, Kadaj started the game. With a grin, there was a small, instant flash of light that emitted from the Remnant and within that eye-blinking moment, two Remnant Leaders was standing beside one another, weapons drawn, eyes locked onto the brunette. Kadaj knew that Sora had seen the After Image technique before (I hope he has, anyway) but this wasn't
[/i] After Image. What was different? The fact that both the Kadaj's had a presence. They were both as real as one another and they didn't hang around for the brunette to try and figure out which one was the true one however, for both Kadaj and his clone vanished into thin air, with no feathers or corridors of darkness however. Instead, simply using speed to turn invisible to the naked eye, two trails of dust appeared on the ground heading for the Keybarer at a blistering speed. When in range and continuing to move at speed past and beyond the spiky-haired boy, Kadaj and his double both swung their Souba's at Sora's chest in a 'X' style, the same as how they both advanced towards him. Only when finishing the first part of X-Slash did Kadaj and his twin become visible to the naked eye once more as they skidded to a halt a short distance behind the Keybarer. Whirling around where they stood, it seemed the Remnant was eager to start releasing all this built up tension. They both smirked at the same time as the second half of X-Slash was carried out. Bolts of electricity crackled from their fingertips, as each blasted a Thundaga up into the air, hoping to strike an airborne Keyblade Master whom they attempted to knock into the air from the first strike. [/blockquote] -=Cooldowns=- X-Slash - 3 Posts. -- Kadaj forms a clone and both attack at high speed in a 'X' style. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,480px,true][atrb=cellpadding,3px,true][atrb=cellspacing,3px,true][bg=939d8f] Is that how I used to be Is that the price of my identity Was this guy always on like this? Was he really having a big sob over the fact that some masked guy had cheated him out of a fight by running away? Sora could almost feel his shoulders heave in a exasperated sigh in anticipation as the antagonist went on about this latest disappointment like he was his therapist, and almost felt the temptation to insist to Kadaj to start charing him by the hour, or that he was mistaking him for someone like his mother or someone that actually cared. Breaking doors, whining... sounded like a monster on a temper tantrum. But then Sora had also almost forgot, that it was rumored Kadaj was made by same corporation called Shayra... Shinryu? Shaymin... whatever, something like that. Point was, he didn't have a mother like Sora did. Speaking of lack of memory, his azure eyes cast over to the mama's boy as he finally finished his initial statement.
"Uh-huh... don't forget that last time this 'little boy' stomped you here the last time we met. But then, I guess the more grey hairs you grow you're bound to forget a lot of things in your old age, so I guess I'll forgive you." Initially the mention of the awareness of Kairi had him flinch the corners of his mouth in a concerned expression, but his simple comeback now had him smirking positively and confidently from ear to ear. He could afford the slight creak in his armor at the mention of Kairi since the man had his back turned to him at the moment in arrogant disconcern. Riku would be proud of him, and speaking of silver-heads, this one was back on the subject of the Masked Man yet again. Sora would have stifled a yawn back at him in disrespectful defiance, but his conscience told him he was better than to stoop at this jerk's level. Instead, he offered a shot back at Kadaj that the Remnant himself hadn't dared to utter. "Jeez, if you love this mask guy so much, why don't you MARRY him already?" he couldn't help but laugh the last few words, imagining some sort of dark wedding with Kadaj's long hair done up in flowers and a black wedding dress, in order to keep himself in high spirits. Once he had contained himself with those silly, optimistic thoughts that were usually the trademark of Sora, he straightened his face into one of content seriousness unshakeable in the presence of any villain that stood in his path. "I really don't care, don't assume anything about me for second. You're also forgetting that you expect me to believe anything you say, like I'm going to believe you! Whatever I do is none of your business, I'm out there learning about things my own way and meeting them head on... things like you!" His own words really surprised him... they reminded him of who he realized at the time all those years before was Xehanort in a brown cloak visiting his island, telling him it was a meaningless effort to understand nothing if one didn't know it. Just because some darkness-wielding user claimed to know more than he did didn't mean it was necessarily true, nor that Sora couldn't find out himself from sources he could actually trust.
What this did tell him though that he'd have to confirm with any other heroes or friends alike he met next about this man with a mask - which could fit the description of any wanna-be identity among the Sea of Stars - and about what happened to the Heartless Horsemen he didn't want to give Kadaj the satisfaction of confirming he could not find the location of in the final battle.
A memory he would tuck away for another time, but it seemed the taunts he had made had caused his opponent to reach a breaking point. As Kadaj pointed at the ceiling in some sort of declaration that only made him want to roll his eyes, he paid more attention to the deciever's ring of sharpened metal, and braced himself as he remembered how the last fight started with him charging the weapon and throwing a wave from his blade. Instead this time, the proclaimed Sephiroth 2.0 suddenly switched up the fight by splitting into two. Great... what was it about the bad guys that they couldn't get enough of having more than one of themselves? Sora's memories switched to Xemnas's clone more than the water-bodied ones of Demyx or the card facsimilies of Luxord, that the real Kadaj would try to attack him while distracting him with the other, and... there was another who had attacked him with a copy of themselves that Sora couldn't remember.
It was this glitch in his memories, along with the unfamiliarity of Kadaj's new surprising technique, that caused him not to be ready for the following instantaneous and simultaneous attack. His defensive posture he had taken up allowing him only enough fractions of a second to raise his keyblade protectively across the vital body parts of his head and chest, before trails of dust swept towards him as the black leather-clad foes disappeared. As he watched and time seemed to slow down as he watched the assault happen, he couldn't see what happened, but he heard the deflection of his keyblade upon metal. A splice of twin blades raked across his upper right-hand arm, while the other sliced evenly through the part of his shoulder where his pauldrons used to be. Far be it for the Key to Everything to go down in one hit after all the experience he had racked up, as he was made of sterner stuff now in these past three years, enduring the hit while taking damage as he swiveled around to face the two Kadajs that had passsed through him.
Like he couldn't go for a moment without always being switched on for battle, couldn't this guy go for one round without fighting by himself? He would have almost felt sorry for the villain that it was the only way he could along with his dragon, unlike Sora who always had his friends with him at a moment's call in his heart, if it wasn't for the fact there was no time to talk. "Neat trick!" he actually complimented as he jumped back, the sharpness of the edge of his opponent's blade putting him further on edge with awareness as he sensed the crackle of electricity, narrowly evading the lightning strikes which fried the very spot he had been standing. As soon as had jumped back, he turned things around unexpectantly and jumped between the two Remnants, his keyblade coming down as the crackle, heat and light of a bursting Firaga tornadoed around his form in a attempt to ensnare the two. Quickly following up with Dodge Slash to keep the twins on their toes, he swung the keyblade around dangerously to test them while defensively avoiding any further attacks they would send his way from the wake of his last attack.
"Let's see what your double can do!" he pressured, almost sounding excited himself in trialing out his tactics of a fight where the enemy had a doppleganger for a teammate, and while it didn't seem fair - at first - he'd allow it just to see how he could put this duplicate to shame.... for now.
---
Firaga: A defensive fire-elemental spell that casts fiery rings of flames around Sora, a spell he uses rarely when he is surrounded in a quick pinch. Three post cooldown.
Dodge Slash: Sora moves forward while wildly waving his keyblade around, damaging all foes in range while dodging rapidly from left-to-right to dodge attacks. Cooldown: Two posts.

As usual, there was not going to be any lucrative information shared between the two. Tough the last time these two met, was strictly under warfare conditions. The Light were coming to claim Disney Castle from the Darkness and the Remnant and that dead fool Valerius were the only ones defending. Little to no words were shared apart from the occasional taught and jeer perhaps, but there was no need to ask any questions such as the location of the X-Blade or ask about whoever the Masked Man was. There just wasn't need of such things to be spoken. As expected however, Sora like every other user of the Light was ignorant to the point of stupidity. The silver-haired youth kept his desire to seek the X-Blade to himself. There was nothing to gain from letting the brunette know about it, but chances were he may already know. There was no point running the risk however. Kadaj knew this wasn't going to be the last time his and Sora's paths crossed and much like this time, he was going to grow ever stronger to constantly remind the Keybarer of the threat he posed. An excellent chance now as well, to show the Keybarer that one slip up would be costly.
So, no more words needed to be shared. While Sora genuinely seemed to know nothing about the Masked Man, that was reason enough to stop probing him about it. His own carelessness to push aside the possible threat Masked Man may or may not bring, would rest solely on the brunette's shoulders. All Kadaj wanted was to fight him to see when he was made of. He cared not for his plans, his ambitions. Kadaj just wanted to meet someone strong! Stronger then his current opponent anyway. The silver-haired youth had a feeling he was going to have to provoke the brunette into using his full strength in this match, but how was he going to manage that? He hardly knew anything of this boy other ten what everyone else already knew. However, the Remnant did notice a subtle change in Sora's face when he spoke the word of his childhood sweetheart. Perhaps that might be a good base to work on, or maybe tell the Keybarer of his battles and victories against Riku and Roxas? Hmm...
Sora suddenly appeared between the Remnant and his illusionary twin, both of whom peered down at the Keybarer with unamused expressions spread across their faces as the boy unleashed a fiery blast of what seemed to resemble a Firaga. Neither Kadaj nor his double moved away from the swirling flames but each instead raised their Souba's up to partially defend themselves, mainly their faces and eyes, from the heat of the flames that licked about their bodies and slowly scorched the leather attire upon their bodies. Dodging a fiery blast results in you getting burned, but leaping to the source results in fewer injuries. As such, both the Remnant Leader and his doppelganger instead stepped forwards towards the brunette, about to swing their Souba's down upon him when the youth dodged away and slashed at the clone, causing it to vanish into thin air. Sora's Keyblade was met with a metallic clank whenever he swung the weapon towards the real Remnant, Kadaj grinning through the flames as he swung the twin-bladed weapon before to to match the wild swings Sora threw out. As the flames of Firaga started to die down, Kadaj took the chance to release some of his own fiery adrenaline and smirked slightly as he took a quick step backwards to open the gap between them enough so that Sora would need to turn and step towards Kadaj to hit him again.
In that moment, the Remnant Leader threw his right arm up into the air as five small vertical trails of embers, hopefully masked with the remnants of Sora's Firaga, appeared in a large pentagon formation about the silver-haired youth. A single second passed, in which Kadaj stood perfectly still and left himself open in hoping to bait Sora to close the gap between them. Five large Level 2 Flame Pillars
[/b] suddenly erupted from the ground where the embers lingered, rocketing high into the throne room before careering into the ceiling with a loud 'phooomph'. The flames were intense, blindingly bright and seemed to draw in nearby objects as they twirled on the spot, as was evident by one of the massive throne room doors screeching across the floor slightly but never actually gaining hang time. The Level 2 Flame Pillars[/b] roared with their swirling, hellish flames for a good few second, hopefully having sucked up Sora and batted him about the five pillars like a ball inside a pinball machine. Remaining standing in the middle until the five columns of fire vanished almost as quickly as they appeared, Kadaj finally lowered his arm and jumped backwards a short distance to see what had become of the Keybarer, as well as the throne room. The ceiling had five black burn marks and the long red carpet going down the middle had caught fire and was slowly crackling and burning away towards the entrance as well as the thrones. Kadaj smirked dangerously as he flicked his Souba before himself, holding it defensively as his bright turquoise eyes peered out to locate the Keybarer. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,480px,true][atrb=cellpadding,3px,true][atrb=cellspacing,3px,true][bg=939d8f] Standing on the outside Looking in at what you can't hide As flamed swarthed about him, knotting sweat in his brow from the heat, Sora furrowed those brown eyebrows as the two clones danced around him in the flames. There was an unexpected twist where they both stepped in towards him instead of trying to get away - a move that was either bold, or stupid. Sora's defensive Firaga was known to keep enemies in the flames around him, for that was the benefit of having them protecting him rather than a projectile. Sora expected them to burn up and the copy to disintergrate, but they kept coming as they took damage in the flames, coming at him from both sides in a deadly pincer-like movement. Sora didn't have any time to find out as he launched into his Dodge Slash to see the end effect, his keyblade actually striking it lucky and cutting straight through the false doppleganger.
A loud reverberating clang resounded through the echoing chamber, and Sora knuckled down on his weapon's handle as he stared the villian down, ready to meet blow to blow with their weapons. Kadaj however jumped back some distance from him, and he'd have to follow after him to continue parrying him. However, Sora being a more defensive keyblader than others, knew this meant two things. When a swordsman jumped backwards in a fight from their opponent when they weren't attacking, it was either one of two things from rule of thumb in his experience. Either they were going to jump back into melee range with a powerful attack to try and brake his guard, or he was trying to gain some distance to launch into an attack.
The later proved true, and while Sora awaited the breadth of less than a second to see how he'd try to break his protective guard, his opponent threw his hand up in the air. For a moment, Sora saw in Kadaj's place the memory of his battle with Sephiroth... and more recently the memory of the same gesture, except this time from beneath him from the man standing before him now. He'd seen that exact gesture before... and even though the ashes of Sora's own Firaga still floated in the air after his Dodge Slash, that hand gesture more than anything was the tell-tale giveaway of the technique he was about to summon. Immediately Sora turned as he held out his keyblade alongside him in case it was a facade and he was pursued, but there was no trick this time, no distraction. From the floating embers, five powerful pillars of flame erupted around the leather-clad youth, instead of the three Sora had been batted around with last time.
There was no technique to it at all, no smart use of it... just pure power being used for the sake of pure power. Perhaps the Remnant's way of flexing and showing off arrogantly his upgraded power, but it would cost him with it's single use alone. Already Sora had gained distance, feeling gravity shift and tug at his heals as it started to pull him backwards. At this moment, Sora pushed himself to simply jump in the air and spread out his limbs to use Glide. A advanced yet graceful Movement ability, but one that had saved him from being consumed from the technique both by Sephiroth and Kadaj several times before. The propulsion of his momentum and the weightlessness of his mass countered against the manipulation of the vaccum that was sucking him in, pulling him away to safety simply because of the simplistic single use of the technique to flex it and the experience of recognizing the hand-gesture ahead of time.
As the ability ended with the flames dying down and the Remnant looked around for the Keyblader, gravity was returned to normal and Glide was no longer used, but Sora was far from done. He had glided not only away from Kadaj, but around and behind him while he had taken a moment to stand and recover from the mass amount of power he had just burned. Last time the Souba-wielder had used the technique Sora had taken advantage of the stationary pause to make use of a quick instantaneous melee technique, but this time he had used the change of position on the battle-field to switch things up. Instead of his feet touching the ground just yet, his limbs arched back as energy shattered off his body like broken glass, becoming his Limit Form Drive. Sora was disappointed the clone had died so quickly in retrospect of the use of his next technique, as he pointed the tip of the keyblade forward and used Ragnarok, as many as fifteen lasers lancing forth from the keyblade and shooting out to thunder into the villain's leather-clad hide.
---
Glide: Sora can spread his body out and glide from a height to move quickly through the air. Two post cooldown.
Limit Form: This is the only form Sora can use on his own, and the only one he starts out with. Sora only wields one keyblade, but re-obtains through his lost memories and the events of Castle Oblivion the abilities he had prior to these events. A more physical drive form, and having reached keyblader master status, the execution of some of these abilites can enable Sora to be invincible for brief moments during combat (within reason rationally when he's about to recieve critical hits). However, the drawback to this form is that he cannot use any magic spells, and for the abilities of his to work he has to be of certain distance between himself and the target, depending on the ability. In this drive form, his clothes change their color to the appearence of his old clothes (from KH1), with a black hooded vest, white sleeves, red pants and yellow shoes. (This Drive Form only made an appearence in KH II: FM.) All drive forms have a duration of four posts, with a five-post cooldown.
Ragnarok: Fifteen lasers shoot out from the tip of the keyblade and home in on the target. Shares cooldown with Limit Form and can only be used once per battle.
Firaga: Two posts left.
Dodge Slash: One post left.

After a lot of Voting on the winner, we have chosen that the Light would have won this battle.
The Light has kept Disney Castle
Since Sora has won, he is awarded 150 munny that will be automatically added to his account for use in the Ability/Equipment Upgrade Shop. Congrats!
