(OOC: Alright, sorry about the delay everyone. If it wasn't made clear, since this is in the Spoof Thread, this is an AU (acronym for Alternate Universe or Reality). This means that your character grew up in the real world of this universe, so everything Kingdom Hearts themed such as keyblades, Heartless and Nobodys do not exist, including your weapons and powers. You are simply normal human beings living out your everyday lives in the city, until this cataclysmic event happened. If you want it be IC for yourself, you can consider this a nightmare your character is having, but they will not be able to wake up from it until the survivor's goal has been reached and declared by myself. You should have received a PM from me after I posted this event in your inboxes if you are part of the group, if you have any questions or are unsure about anything, PM Vincent. Let's try and get this underway and done, because I have a feeling this thread will die as soon as Halloween is over. Thank you and have fun.)
Well, everyone knew the story of the doomed town known as Racoon City. Unfortunately the settlement chosen by the company known as Umbrella, the largest global company that grew from household items and cosmetics has gone a step too far in purchasing research into bio-weapon engineering for military use, resulting in Raccoon City being the testing grounds for the deadly T-Virus. Spread through blood contamination or fluids, this virus gradually shuts down the vital organs of it's host and kills them, then 'reboots' the body much like a computer... only this time the host's brain is taken over by the virus that must be maintained with the fresh flesh of other victims. Therefore, the zombies are susceptible to being destroyed via the head or brain being damaged or decapitated... but for the residents of Raccoon City, this information would only be learned first-hand by those lucky enough to have survived this apocalypse. Four of these survivors, perhaps by pure coincidence or perhaps those who believed it, fate, had found each other. Gathered at the gates of the evacuation point left in text messages, Tweets, e-mails, answering machine messages, even on noticeboards throughout the city had all lead to this one location as the final destination for sanctuary and extraction.... the Raccoon City Police Department.
As the survivors passed the burning stockades of cars and of course, the rogue zombies wandering the streets for blood, the large steel gates that looked as if they belonged to a mansion rather than a police station swung open. "Hurry, get inside!" a feminine voice called to them, and once all four survivors were safely inside, a blond female cop quickly shut the gates open and locked it. Holding a handgun, she swept the outside of the Main Entrance before opening the front doors of the building itself, waving the survivors inside.
Once they had moved from the main entrance and through the doors safely, again the young woman made sure everyone was inside before sweeping the area and closing the doors behind her. With an exasperated sigh of relief, she smiled at them all. "Is that everyone? Is everyone okay? Has anyone been bitten, or scratched by the zombies?" she asked them, checking them over, before she was satisfied none of these men and women were infected. "My name is Officer Rita Harley, glad to see you're all still alive. Welcome to the Raccoon City Police Department." she introduced herself, and the building, as she swept her arm to encompass the massive front foyer of the Main Hall they were now all standing in.
"I know all of you must have gone through hell just to get here... but even this building isn't going to hold out for long. This way." As she walked, her footsteps echoed through the large marble hall, walking up one of the ramps to the large counter a level higher behind a marble statue. She walked behind the counter, and turned the monitor so everyone could see. It was a split-screen surveillance monitor, which was streaming live feeds of night vision of video cameras, which appeared to be set up in front of and in rooms around the entire station. "This is how I saw you all out front, and as you can see, this station won't hold out against the zombies for long." On many of the screens, including the one that was placed at the front gates they had just passed through, zombies were moaning and waving their arms through the bars. There were also zombies stumbling around in the many rooms and corridors of the station. "Me and a few other officers are trying to hold them off for as long as we can, so your timing couldn't have been luckier. The entire place is surrounded by zombies from all sides, but we have an idea." she informed further with her southern belle accent, and unrolled on the counter a set of blueprints, pointing at a long, thin corridor that was not present itself in the large Main Hall they were now in.
"Back when this station used to be an art gallery, there used to be a ventilation system that's thin enough for an escape route. It leads outside, but the entrance opens up beneath that statue we just passed." she paused, glancing at the statue, then back at the survivors. "We figured out that for some strange reason, the statue only opens when five different plates are placed at the base. But to prevent any prisoners escaping, we separated the plates and put them in the different rooms around the station... our manpower is stretched thin enough as it is, so we decided to wait for the civilian survivors like you to arrive. If you could please follow police instruction, and retrieve those five plates and bring them back here, I should be thin enough to squeeze through that ventilation system and get the police van that's blocked off in the street out the back. Take a moment to rest and get acquainted... I've got maps and a few supplies on the other side off the counter here you can take with you, and I'll help from the monitors and through the communications system when I can."
There was a static burst from her walkie-talkie as a voice spoke out. "Harley, you there?"
Rita pulled the walkie-talkie out of it's pouch and raised it to her ruby lips. "Yes sir?"
"The nerve gas came into the room I was in... moving outside to the stairwell." the man replied, guns shots and zombie moans coming in through as background noise before the radio coms cut out.
"Understood, Marvin... sir." she replied, and pouched her walkie-talkie again, looking at the survivors. "One more thing... as you explore the station, be careful of any zombies that might have gotten in, but also we activated the nerve gas system. Nerve gas is randomly dispersed and cycled throughout the station to incapacitate the zombies, but it has the same effect on us, so a warning should sound out from the PA system in each room before it starts being gassed. And no, the system is damaged from the last zombie attack, so we can't shut it off, but you can use any of the gas canisters near the fire hydrants to neutralize the gas currently in the room. Good luck... any questions?" she furtively questioned, looking at each of the civilian survivors that could be their only hope from surviving this nightmare.
(OOC: This area is a Sanctuary, meaning it will be free of zombies for the entire thread, as a means to come back to in case you get into trouble. You all have one thread to get acquainted, plan what to do and ask for supplies/maps from Rita. Once you do, Rita will tell you the locations of the plates, and which doors are unlocked to go through and which doors are locked, so don't try to open any doors just yet. More information will follow about the rooms in the next round.)

It was hard to believe that a few months ago Aqua's mind had been full of things like mid-terms and her job and paying back loans; as she looked around the burning city it seemed unlikely such things had ever existed. What were exams compared to this destruction and death and... complete disregard of death? She supposed she should have been freaking out about the whole thing but if anything she felt almost numb at the moment, single-mindedly focussing on a single goal: get out, get as many people out and figure everything else out then.
She hadn't been able to save anyone in her apartment building. It was a small one in a less-than-wonderful part of town that she'd moved into for the cheap rent but all of her neighbors in the building had been lovely people. She'd had to sell almost everything she owned (granted, not a lot) to afford even community college and it was the best she could do with her pathetic job at a local roadside assistance company but she'd made the best of it. Sure, she had had to start carrying around a self-defence weapon when she took the bus home (and it's last stop was a full six blocks from her building), which she was clutching in her hand at the moment as if it was her greatest possession. And sure, their landlord had been awful and never fixed anything so people could just walk into the building through the front door with the broken lock so there were a few unwanted visitors every now and then- but she'd gotten around that, too. No one at her job had noticed the lockpicking kit that she'd stolen. It had been sent on accident and the person in charge of inventory was simply too lazy to send it back. They were more concerned with unlocking car doors, you see, so she'd been in luck. Some might not have seen it as the most important thing to bring but she'd grabbed it as she left anyway and put it in the thing knapsack on her back which held nothing else.
Aqua had taken to wandering the halls of her apartment studying with index cards or her large criminal justice books and keeping an eye and ear out for any trouble. Not that people in her building couldn't take care of themselves but everyone needed a little help now and then and at least twice she'd had to pick open the lock of a neighbors door to help them with a "visitor" that had forced entry and locked it behind them. It wasn't the greatest way to stop criminals but until she finished school it was the best she could do. These undead people were another matter, however.
The front door had no lock so everyone in the building had mostly been on their own. Some people grouped together in their own apartments- Aqua had led a group of people up to the roof, believing that they could guard the fire escape and single staircase that led up there while also being in view of any possible helicopter rescues that might have come by. It had worked for a little while; pushing zombies off a building with whatever sticks and weapon they had had worked until they started recognizing other people from the building among them. That had been harder and all it took was a one small second of hesitation and they were surrounded. At a loss of what to do a few of them, Aqua included, had climbed to the next building which was close enough to jump and thankfully had many more fire escaped to use to reach the ground. Whoever else had gone with her was gone; they'd been separated and somehow she could only think the worst of it.
She'd wanted to save them, to help them but she couldn't. She failed. She didn't even have time to take a last look at the building where she could still hear screams coming from before she had to run from a group of ground-bound undead that had spotted her. Running was the only thing she could do on her own but she could only run for so long. On the verge of exhaustion and giving up she'd finally gotten a text message and, in surprise, she reached into her pocket to read it.
An evacuation point? Her heart leapt. They might be able to get out of here? Truly? With a shaking hand she forwarded it to everyone: classmates, friends, and finally her parents whom she hadn't heard from in weeks. Just in case.
From that point on she'd found the energy to head towards the police station, finding herself going the same way as several others. Four of them had made it at the same time for which she was grateful despite knowing none of them. There was safety in numbers, she supposed, and she was so grateful she almost cried when a police officer let her in an she breathed for the first time in what felt like forever. She didn't know what to say other than a gasped "Thank you so much," to the woman who was now leading them through the department.
The thought that they weren't safe for long wasn't a surprising one after the time she'd had, but she nodded at her saying that they had a plan. Plans were good things; there was still a small bit of hope to hold onto. The plan seemed to have a lot of "ifs:" if they could fine all the plates, if they could avoid the zombies and if they could get around the nerve gas. If they survived she was going to play the lottery, if there even was such a thing after this mess.
Taking her advice to rest Aqua leaned against the nearest wall, deciding that if she sat down it would be too hard to get back up. Her eyes flickered to her fellow evacuees with a vague curiosity. It was an odd feeling, being pushed together with strangers for something so life-threatening. She gave a small, weary smile to them that lasted but a second- it felt odd on her face.
"Alright. I'm sure we can do this. I'm Aqua," She offered, not that it mattered. "If anyone needs help with anything please ask. I promise I'll have your back." Unlike the other people she couldn't save. Suppressing a wince she turned to the police officer once more.
"Do you have any water? And about that gas... Are there gas canisters in all the rooms?" ooc: sorrysickbutiwantedtogetthisup ;A; <3

Mordred was leaning against a wall, twirling a large kitchen knife that had some dried blood on it. He was Staff Sergeant Mordred, United States Army and he was miles away from the nearest Army Base, with a good thousand or so zombies in the middle. Mordred and a few of his friends had gotten some time off, so they figured they'd see the sights of Raccoon City. Admittedly, it was a nice place until everything went to pot, as his dad used to say. While in a store, checking out the latest movies, it got attacked by the zombie horde. Mordred managed to make it out. His friends... well, he wasn't sure, but he didn't have the highest hopes. After he exhausted the ammo in his sidearm, he managed to gain entry into an empty house. (Well, empty of any living inhabitants.) There he managed to find the best weapon he could find... a large kitchen knife. One of those knives they sell on TV that can cut through a two-by-four and then cut the thinnest tomato slices afterward. Well, it did a heck of a job at cutting off zombie heads.
Mordred met up with this group as he was making his way through the city. They seemed... well, they were living, so what did it matter? At this point, he'd take anyone over these zombies. Mordred pulled the blade into a reverse grip and gave everyone a half-hearted salute. "Staff Sergeant Mordred, United States Army. Not that I suppose it matters much now, so you all can just call me Mordred for the time being." He then looked at the girl named Aqua and pulled out his water bottle from his uniform pants pocket, tossing it to her. "Here ya go. It's pure, don't worry. Anyways, we should probably stick together for as long as possible. That way, it's harder for these zombies to just pick any of us off."

The alternative version of ‘Whatever’, a Heartless in the universe of Kingdom Hearts, felt rather crazy as he rushed through a building. The zombies seemed to be everywhere. He had been trained in the use of many different weapons and was proficient with martial arts. A hireling that didn’t even know his own name. Names didn’t bother him, he never understood the use of calling one by a name. Everyone ended up dead and these zombies once have been called by a name as well, now they were just ‘zombies’ and everyone killed them. Whether it was your best friend or the person you hated the most throughout your lives, all were the same once they had walked to the other side.
The hireling held up a gun that he had been able to take with him. The attack earlier had been very sudden and he had lost his suitcase with weapons. Only the handgun he had taken in his belt was still with him. Also his rifle he had lost. His coat was gone too, holding multiple knives of varying sizes. This all seemed rather troublesome, but it didn’t faze the hireling the least. It all seemed more of a challenge for him and with his martial arts, he would be able to hold his own very well. His shirt was ripped at the back by a zombie that had grabbed him, but he wore a rather sad excuse of a shirt, which he was somewhat thankful of. It had ripped instantly.
The man had dirt and pieces of zombie covering his body as he ran through the building and tried to evade the zombies that came at him. Two of them was following him, so he quickly went through a doorway and closed it behind him. It seemed to have no lock, oh, hell, there seemed to be none in the room he had entered, so he held the door for the moment. Soon they’ll probably claw through, as he felt the shaking of the door, but it started to lessen as if the zombies found another way. Or another victim, from the screams it seemed the latter, praise your soul for saving mine, he thought with a cruel smirk as he let go of the door and ran for the window.
The room he was in, was one story above the ground, so jumping seemed a bad idea and he looked for a way of a soft landing. Can’t they ever place a random trampoline underneath a window? He asked himself as he stared at the zombie filled place, I don’t like the idea of getting rid of bullets this early. Suddenly the door behind him swung open as a zombie without arms came running in, quickly he moved in on the zombie and hit the side of the zombie’s head, knocking the head off the creature’s shoulders.
“Keheheheheh, have fun searching for thee sick head, sick being!” He shouted as he passed by and went back in the hall. There he immediately saw four zombies having turned his way, busy eating the woman that had screamed probably earlier, me and my stupid shouting, he thought as he sighed, but continued to rush back into the hall he had rushed through earlier. He tried to reach the staircase, but zombies appeared there as well, so he rushed onward.
****ed ****!! **** this all to ****ing ****ation!! He screeched in his head as he ran for the open window at the end of the hall and jumped through. Down there he bounced on a trampoline that made him go, “y-you can’t be serious...” However, after the trampoline he smacked against a tree. With his nose bleeding, the hireling quickly got back up and ran onward. Who in hell’s name placed a random trampoline there? He thought as he moved through the street, noticing others as well.
Suddenly a door swung open and a police lady let the four of them in, well, I’m out of that... he thought to himself with a light smile. The hireling didn’t speak as he moved through the building with the others, but simply listened to what the others said. Especially the police lady was speaking, which was all curious things. When the question came if anyone was bitten or scratched, he actually did speak up as he showed his hand: “this wasn’t done by a zombie if you thought that. It happened before all these freaks made their appearance, years and years ago,” he explained in a rather bored tone.
After all the chat and that from the police lady, apparently named Rita, and when she came to that they could ask questions, the hireling listened to the others introduce with Aqua starting and having the question on water and gas. Curious... he thought to himself with a light smile, the man that named himself Mordred, a soldier, gave her water. The hireling didn’t say anything for now, but moved a bit around. He still figured it was smarter to go around all together.
OOC Note Tried to find something of Raccoon City, but this is something of Resident Evil, so don't know much of what all is going on. Not know much of the games/movies...

Krile looked over the other people in the room. Rita Harley called herself an officier, of the police here, she thought. Then there was Aqua, who was asking about water and gas, “are you thinking of blowing the place up?” That seemed a terrible idea as long as this place could be maintained as a safe haven. She wanted at least one place to be out there where she was safe from all the undead horror.
Then there was some sergeant of the army of the united states, named Mordred. The name sounded ominous. He lended a bottle of water to Aqua, which name also meant water, now Krile thought about it. Finally there was the guy with half a hand that told everyone it was not done by a zombie. I hope he isn’t lying, it seemed terrible if they had a guy turning zombie in their midst.
“I’m Krile, I got some medicine,” she said to clarify she could help healing others if the need arise. Although, she could also fight bare-handed if there was need to. Along with the herbal kit, she had a crowbar with her.

I've got some water I've been drinking myself, but..." Officer Rita began to answer Aqua, before the sargent paused her when she handed Aqua a bottle of water. "Pure? Good. Don't try and drink anything from the plumbing... we think through the city's water source is how the zombie virus spread. So just stick to packaged food and bottled drinks." she advised, moving over to the supplies and copies of the map of the station, on the other side of the counter. As well as handing out to each person their own maps, she also had on the counter the supplies for them. They consisted of a Handgun HP and ammo, three medicinal green herbs*, one red herb*, two fast-acting First Aid Sprays, and two Gas Canisters.
To answer the second half of Aqua's earlier question, Rita shook her head. "There aren't gas canisters in every room, so you'll have to use these wisely, as well as the rest of the supplies. I'll monitor your progress from here, I need to stay to monitor the other officers and if any survivors come; god speed, all of you." She typed something into the computer, and over in the south-east corner, one of the doors electonically unlocked. "We had to keep the doors locked to stop the zombies getting in here; and some other nasty critters you don't wanna know about. The plates I've marked on the map, hurry back y'all with them, okay?" she added lastly, before turning back to the computer to watch the security camera feeds. Once the survivors had gathered the supplies amongst themselves and mentally prepared themselves, they had no choice but to go through the single door on the east wall into 1F Lobby.
As soon as they did, they could find themselves in a L-shaped corridor. Two double-doors lay in front of them, but around the corner on the left-hand side lay some payphones and a sign on the wall with a arrow reading INTERROGATION ROOM. According to the map if the survivors chose to look at it beforehand, the L-shaped corridor would lead around to a door which lead to said dead-end room, where Rita had marked one of the plates were. In front of them however was also a room Rita had marked on the map one of the plates were... but they had little time to think or even react. Because stumbling towards them from the payphones were two zombies feeding on a cop corpse; one of them was a civilian female who looked up at the survivors coming in, but the other zombie which once was a male cop was faster to react and stumbled towards them with arms outstretched.
Since he was right by the door they had just walked in, if they did not react fast, someone was going to be bit by a zombie! To make things worse, they had to make a decision eventually about a course of action; keep the group together and go after one plate at a time which would take longer to accomplish, or split up the group to recover the plates faster but risk themselves getting overrun by future zombie encounters? Their fate lay in their hands; and time was ticking.
(OOC: * There are certain combinations one can combine the herbs. Three herbs can be combined together to have a larger healing effect, like Curaga is the third stage of Cure magic.
Green herbs are the basic healing herb and by themselves store a small portion of health.
Red Herbs are like the spell 'Double' or 'Triple' and double the effect of the herb it is combined with. However because of it's potency, it can only be combined with other herbs once.
Blue herbs cure Poison.
The combinations of herbs are:
Green + Green, or Green + Red = Healing Herb (like Cura), restores moderate amount of health.
Green + Blue = Restoring Herb. Restores a moderate amount of health and cures Poison.
Green + Green + Green = Full Healing Herb (like Curaga), fully restores health to one survivor.
Green + Blue + Red, or Green + Green + Blue = Full Restoring Herb. Fully restores health and cures poison.

Aqua caught the bottle of water tossed to her by one of her fellow survivors and smiled gratefully. "Thanks, then, Mordred." However, at Rita's warning the smile slipped off her face and she nodded, staring the water in her hands down. She uncapped it before carefully sniffing it, a look of confusion on her face. Deciding that it was probably fine (and if not, how could she really tell? Did the zombie virus even have a smell?) she took a small sip before nodding her approval that the drink was safe. Capping it again she put it in the knapsack on her back, deciding it was better to leave the other supplies Rita had provided them with in a more accessible spot.
As everyone introduced themselves she studied each person as if unused to seeing living beings. They seemed to be a... diverse group, but that could certainly work to their advantage. As Krile asked her about any plans to blow the place up Aqua looked back at her in surprise.
"Ah, no! No, no, no, no plans on blowing it up. I just wanted to know if we'd be safe from the gas everywhere but I guess we'll have to play it safe with it. And, uh, great! Medicine. That's useful." She nodded although her face had turned slightly red; all she needed was these people to think she was some sort of extremist who planned on blowing the place up, probably to protect the rest of the world from the infection or something. No, she'd much rather everyone get out as soon as possible and then they could figure out what to do with the city of zombies.
She had been glancing over the map as Rita spoke but her eyes had shot up as she told them there were not gas canisters in each room. There was a sinking feeling in her stomach, but then she was surprised she could feel anything at all at the moment considering she'd just spent quite a bit of time fighting the undead bodies of friends so she simply nodded.
"Thank you for your help." She said when Rita had finished before turned her gaze to the open door that led into 1F Lobby. Taking a deep breathe she steeled herself for whatever lay ahead and, glancing at the other members of the group she took a step inward.
Time seemed to be running in slow-motion for a moment as she saw the scene that lay ahead. Zombies already! She'd almost gotten used to a room where there weren't any. Almost.
Time sped up immediately as one of the zombies started towards the group. Giving a surprised little yell Aqua did the only thing she could think to do at the time and reached her hands into her pocket for the taser she'd thought to bring with her. Thinking "thankyoupleasework" in her mind she shot it towards the zombie who was uncomfortably close, hoping to at least stop him for the moment.
"Whose got that gun?! Or something?!" She called at the others, keeping an eye on the undead beings in front of them.

Mordred looked over to the supplies and decided to take two of the green herbs and one red herb. He hoped he wouldn't need to use them, but times had changed. As Rita talked, Mordred nodded, confirming that he understood the mission. He also quietly decided that they should all stick together. He was sure everyone had something they were good at and they'd all need certain skills before this was night was out. As they approached the 1F Lobby, Mordred kept his knife out, just in case.
Turns out his caution was well-founded, as the group found themselves accosted by two zombies, with the Cop Zombie being the bigger threat. He saw Aqua pull out a taser and sighed a bit. He decided against chiding her for having such a thing, but hey, if it worked so far... After she used it, Mordred dashed at the Cop Zombie and swung the knife, aiming to decapitate the zombie while it was stunned. "You guys get the other one!" Mordred yelled back at the others, hoping they'd have his back in case the other zombie decided to turn her attention to Aqua and himself.
