An Audience with the Queen (Open)

Minnie looked through another scroll looking for more clues to a way to help stop the fighting or at least defend the light and the worlds in a way that would better protect the world order, since obviously what was being done wasn't working.

This scroll seemed interesting bit it was so vague... What did it mean...

The Queen stopped for a moment and rolled the scroll back up with a tired expression on her face and placed it back on one of the many many shelves in the library. It seemed to be another dead end.

She looked down again at the three piles of letters on her desk. There had to be a way to help... The queen reached down and rubbed her finger over the ring she wore. The mouse queen felt in her heart that something had kept Mickey from sending her a letter. It had been a long time since she'd received the last one.

Minnie looked about her at the many many books. So much knowledge... but so far nothing helped. What was she to do now?

She looked over at a clock on the wall and sighed gently. It was the time of day for her to be in Audience. Since the King was gone, she set aside time every day when she would be in the Audience chamber and taking guests without appointment so that everyone had a chance to come forward with anything regardless of importance.

The lady of Disney Castle entered the large, empty audience chamber and walked with light footsteps towards the throne where she would wait for the hour she promised to see if anyone would come. When she reached it, she took a deep breath before settling down into the seat, feeling once more as if she were merely a substitute.

"...I just ask that you return safely..." she whispered again the the big quiet room that echoed into the depths of her heart.

How long had it been since he'd been away from home? Mickey wasn't sure, but it felt so good to be back. He parked his Gummy Ship in the hanger and stepped out to the excitement of Chip & Dale, who'd also been eagerly awaiting the King's return. His Majesty got what had been going on since his last visit. But there was something on the Horizon. It wasn't Mordred, the Nobody he met while travelling in Traverse Town. It wasn't even the Masked Man and his equally Masked Apprentice, who had recently come to the forefront. It was something Mickey couldn't quite bring himself to fully put into words. It was more like a feeling of dread. Something was about to be unleashed into the worlds and Mickey could feel it in his bones. But for now, it was mere suspicion. He needed more information to go on.

It was for that reason why he didn't tell either Chip or Dale what he was feeling and why he wasn't about to tell anyone else, except, perhaps, his fellow Keyblader friends. Mickey saw no sense in panicking his friends over what could easily be nothing. Still... he could not ignore it for long. Mickey then went into the Palace proper, through the Courtyard and into the Throne Room. He pressed a secret button under the armrest of his throne to open a secret entrance. He went down the stairs and checked in on the Cornerstone.

"Ah-huh! Everythin' seems to be in order!" Mickey exclaimed to the empty room. Indeed, the Cornerstone remained untouched. Mickey then made his way to the study. Perhaps something there would provide more insight into this feeling of his. As he opened the doors, he found Minnie sitting at the desk, seemingly buried under letters upon letters. He made a squeak of surprise, not expecting Minnie to be so busy. Of course, he knew she wouldn't stand idly by while the worlds were in danger, but she had clearly been busier than the King anticipated. He jumped up and down to get her attention. "Hiya, Minnie! Sorry about being so late!"

Minnie had left the Audience Chamber to return to her work with the letters, but felt like there was nothing more she could do with the information she had. She would have to figure out a way to help with what information she had, but right now she didn't have any idea.

She was so engrossed she actually jumped when the study door opened to reveal a very familiar and long missed face. When her eyes met his, her breath stopped and her eyes widened.

How many weeks had it been since she'd gotten a letter from him? How long had it been that she'd desperately hoped he was ok...? Was this her mind playing tricks on her? Was this because of a lack of sleep, maybe? Her nights had not been easy since she'd started having nightmares...

She stepped out from around the desk and simply looked at him for a moment, memories flooding over her of younger bygone days together... from his days on the riverboat to his days as a musketeer to his studies as a Keyblade Master under Yensid.

The hopeful Queen stepped forward and reached out her hand to touch the side of his face to make sure she wasn't dreaming again... And when the soft glove over her hand met warm flesh her face flushed and her eyes welled up with joyful tears as she pulled herself into a welcoming hug.

"You're really home again..." She whispered as she kept him close, this time with no on watchers to prevent her from showing how much she truly missed him.
