Using the Gummie Ship Minnie had given him, Akemi traveled through space. Thank goodness this thing had autopilot or Akemi would have crashed by now. Looking out into the window, the boy gazed upon the orbs of lights that were revealed to him to be worlds. Queen Minnie asked him to join her in helping her. Akemi accepted this request was given this ship in return. She say the good in him even though she knew that something was troubling him deep down. The boy couldn't tell her about his curse not yet but one day he will. With sigh, he made his way to the controls.
Looking at all the switches and buttons, his eyes looked at the radar and noticed that he was approaching a world. Already? He had only left the castle maybe half an hour ago. "Guess this is it..." He said to himself as he look up from the radar. This was going to be his first world that he would travel to and would have a choice. Normally those weird black ports popped up and sent him to random places but now, he had a ship. Walking over to the teleporter, Akemi was a bit nervous. He knew he couldn't just land this ship on the world, how was he going to hide a ship like this on a world without being noticed? With one last deep breath, Akemi stepped onto the pad as a bright light covered his body.
In seconds, the boy was standing in an ally. Wow, that was fast. Blinking a bit, he slowly walked out of the ally. The sky was dark and the sun was no where to be seen. Was this world under the control of darkness like what Minnie told him about? Looking around as he exited, he could have sworn he was back home. The structure of the buildings, the smell of the forests outside the massive stone walls, and feeling of the cool wind; this was almost like home. The only thing that was different was the races, the layout of the kingdom, and the very few people outside. Only humans and Genos lived on his world. However, the pointy-eared race here looked like Genos just missing the blue long hair and amber eyes. But what got him was why weren't there any people outside? It seemed like a massive kingdom so there should he a high population. The idea of this world control by evil was becoming stronger in his mind.
Nevertheless, Akemi had work to do and this was a perfect time to look around. The boy noticed a human walking by slowly. Summoning forth the courage, he tried to stop him. "Um...Excuse me sir." The human male stopped and looked at Akemi. He was about 5 foot 11 and was toned. his hair was brown and his eyes were blue. "Can I help?" He asked. Thank goodness, Akemi found a nice person. "Y-Yes...Sorry to trouble you but um...Do know the name of this place?" The male looked at him rather oddly and raised a brow. "Did...you hit your head or something?... He asked as he scratched his chin, "What are they teaching these kids these days...Your in southern part of San d'Oria." So, the name of the town is San d'Oria. An odd name but he wasn't from this world so he couldn't really judge.
"Thank you sir. But, do you think you can point me to a library maybe?" Akemi asked as he human male, once more, looked at him oddly. "...Sure, it over to the west of here...sorry but I got to get going." He said as he began to walk off. "T-Thank you sir for your help..." Akemi said as the man nodded to his thanks. With a name of the city and the location of a library, he was doing very well.
Heading west like the man told him, Akemi found the library. It was a rather large building. By looks of it, it was two stories and was somewhat empty. Walking up the steps and going inside, his thoughts about the place were true. It was a ghost town, well ghost library. Moving on, Akemi began to look around and found a book on the history of the world. It was titled, 'Vana'diel: World Blessed By Altana." Taking the book to a table, Akemi began to read. The book was filled with very detailed and fascinating tales but most of the information was unreadable due to how old the book was. It talked about how all the races were made, the ages of the nations, something called the Crystal War, and a brief entry on the current age. So, there were four nations on Vana'diel. The Kingdom of San d'Oria, the Federation of Windurst, the Republic of Bastok, and the Grand Duchy of Jeuno. Each nation with their own specific duty. However, this wasn't enough. Sure it was basic information but most of it was unreadable so only phrases and keywords could only be made out. Sighing out of frustration, Akemi left the library.
Feeling somewhat defeated, the boy made his way to city gates. Maybe seeing the environment of this world might help him relax plus would help with his research. Walking out of the city, Akemi was now in an area known as West Ronfaure. The area was a thick forest wilderness. From the dirt roads to the wild rabbits running around, this place reminded him of his home as well. Akemi walked into the forest as he sighed once more. Everything here was familiar but it wasn't his home world. The only thing missing was the people calling him a freak, monster, and other hurtful names. Sitting down on a rock, he looked at him hands. "...Am I really a monster?..." He asked himself aloud as he thought about the curse that fell upon the poor boy.
