one of the soldiers spoke. Vanille decided to simply ignore him. The two that were assigned to watch over her, were the two most mean PSICOM soldiers she had seen and fought. What's the point in arguing with them? Did it bother her what they said? Yes, but why give them the satisfaction. They get enough by seeing her like this. She felt the touch of the medic checking her injures. "Aw is the raging L'Cie done?" the same soldier asked. "Her injuries will take two days to heal. the medic said standing up. In her line of sight she saw the soldier that enjoyed mocking her. "No one is coming for you. No one cares about a broken L'Cie" the soldier spoke. "What more do you want from me?" Vanille spoke and sent a glare at the soldier. "I'm injured and cried. Just leave me alone." Vanille said and looked at her knees. Hearing a snicker she saw the soldier take out her weapon. "Guess who got assigned to watch your weapon. I could throw this off the ship if I wanted. he said snickering. Vanille, be strong and get out of there! Words that Fang would say. This is no place or treatment for a kid. Words Sazh would say. Standing up Vanille looked at him. "Whoa oh ho, look who feels high and mighty. Tell you what if you can throw a decent punch, I'll let you have your weapon." he spoke. "You know, where I got this fur from?" Vanille asked while glaring at him. The other soldier wasn't in here and the medic was waiting by the door. The soldier had his gun in one hand, probably ready to shoot. "I killed a bear without any help. And you need to be quiet and leave me alone!" Vanille said in a firm voice. In frustration Vanille kneed the man in the gut. At that moment the soldier dropped her weapon and his own. Taking the gun Vanille hit him in the face with the gun before dropping it. Before she knew it, the medic had already taken off. Luckily he was still in her line of sight and used her rod's cables to swing them at him. Watching them wrap around him, Vanille made a quick yank and the medic fell hitting his head and knocking him out. She then heard a cough. Vanille looked down and saw the PSICOM soldier trying to get up. "I'm not all smiles and sunshine." Vanille said and kicked him in the head. Whether he was dead or knocked out, she was going to take the chance to make a run for it. I did it, Vanille thought with a smile. Jogging out of the cell, she winced in pain. Her knees were still sore from being thrown down on them so much. With a swift of her hand, she cast Cure on herself. Feeling a little better, Vanille was able to break into a run along the empty prisoner cell section. If she could remember correctly the loading bay was not far from where she was. Looking down the long corridor, Vanille broke into a jog. I really did it, Vanille thought happily. I'm not broken. Slowing down as she heard footsteps, Vanille stopped at the corner of the corridor. The footsteps sounded like it was coming towards her. Holding her Binding Rod close, Vanille backed up as far as she could against the wall. Stay strong Vanille, echoed in her mind. Right, Vanille thought and nodded. Breathing in a deep breath as if the PSICOM soldier would hear her, Vanille waited for him. Judging by the sounds of the footsteps, Vanille raised her Binding Rod as if to swing it. By intuition, Vanille swung her weapon as hard as she could at the open space. Like she predicted, a PSICOM soldier fell to the floor with a thud. He groaned and moved his head around. Getting back into a stern battle stance, she noticed his head stop moving. Once again, alive or knocked out it was the okay to keep running. With that thought Vanille kept running. "FREEZE!" A voice echoed through the hall. Vanille automatically froze, eyes wide open, and her teeth clamped together. "Keep your hands where we can see them." Turning around she saw another PSICOM soldier. Oh, I should have known this would be complicated. Vanille thought. Vanille moved her head to look down and bit lightly on her cut lip. "I said FREEZE!" the soldier repeated. "Like this?" Vanille asked and moved her arm in a swift motion and cast blizzard. Vanille then swung her binding rod and let the cables hit him a few times. With the blizzard and being physically hit, the soldier collapsed. After this Vanille broke into another run. Beating the soldiers she had beaten had brought a new courage into her. Made her forget about her previous feelings of feeling broken and alone. I should be more careful however, Vanille thought. Breaking to a halt hearing a small group of soldiers pass by the intersection of corridors, Vanille noticed three of them. Just let them pass, Vanille thought. Doing her best to stay hidden, she let them walk by. Slowly creeping around the corner she walked and tried not to make any noises. I can do this, Vanille thought. Sure enough at the end of the corridor she had turned on, Vanille saw an elevator of sorts. Looking behind her to make sure the trio of soldiers were far away enough. Vanille ran to the elevator and stopped. What if she was caught off guard while riding on the elevator? I'll have to take the stairs, Vanille thought Looking around she saw a sign and a door. So conveniently enough to say stairwell. Running to the door, she opened it and started. The loading bay was a two floors down. The silver, white, and blue stairwell did not echo of footsteps. Seemed all the soldiers preferred the elevator. No problem for Vanille what so ever. Breaking into a skip/jog down the steps, Vanille felt overjoyed at what she was doing. Escaping Jihl's forces with no help. At the second floor Vanille put her ear to the door. She didn't her any footsteps. Quietly opening the door, Vanille only saw two soldiers far down the opposite side of the corridor. Luckily not in the direction she had to go. Slowly jogging down the corridor she made it to the end. The two big gray doors automatically opened and showed the hanger. Which was crawling with pilots, technicians, and soldiers. Hiding behind large boxs and crates when the time called to, Vanille saw a small ship with it's door open. Making a small squeal of hope, Vanille rushed into the ship. "A voice rang through the hanger." a voice rang out. Uh-oh, gotta go. Vanille thought. After pushing the button it lit up, Vanille then heard the voice telling people that the prisoner was stealing a ship. Okay gotta think fast. Looking at the controls, it seemed like a complete mess. Oh no, how do I fly this thing? Vanille thought. Pushing a random big button, she heard an automatic voice in the ship. "Weapons ready" Grabbing the stick she saw, Vanille pressed another big button and heard a noise. Which would probably sound like the ship starting. Hearing a loud creaking noise she saw the hanger doors closing. Learn fast Vanille! The same motivational voice echoed inside her head. "Ehh." Vanille said and pulled back a bit on the stick. The ship began to move as she did so. Moved up which was a good start. Without much more thought, because the hanger bay doors were almost shut, Vanille pushed the stick forward. The ship began to move towards the closing doors. "Come on!" Vanille cried in a panic. Scrunching her face in a nervous state. Vanille closed her eyes and opened them. She was out! "I did it, I made it out! Vanille said happily. Looking back at the ship she saw guns pointed at her. Big cannon like guns. Oh, Vanille thought and grimaced. Blinking she saw a cannon rushing towards the ship. Panicing Vanille jerked the stick to the side and narrowly missing the cannon. However, she did not see the second cannon that was fired at the same time. Fortunately when she had moved, it's aim was off. Sadly though, it hit the wing and the door tearing it off. Sudden realization, her seatbelt was not buckled. Next thing she knew, she was gripping onto the stick while her legs were flailing out the torn open hole. Which was causing the ship to spin in spirals. Not doing well for her worry, Vanille began to scream in fear. Seeing her weapon still by the seat where she had put it. Vanille looked down and saw water, with land not to far from it. Trying to reach for her weapon, Vanille got a gasp on it. This made her lose her grip on the ship however. Spiraling colors filled her eyes as she plummeted to the water, while screaming the entire way. Trying to turn her body so the impact would not hurt so much. With a hard thrust of her head, Vanille managed to start falling feet first instead of head first. She soon felt the impact of the water. Painful but warm. Pain coursing through her body, Vanille tried swimming for the surface. Every muscle and part of her body ached. The torture she endured and the impact of the water all were to thank for it. Feeling like her lungs were about to explode, Vanille felt air hit her face. As she began to cough, she looked for the shore. Not to far. Seems the airship had exploded also. Parts of the ship had fallen into the water. Slowly she began to sidestroke towards the shore. With every stroke she pushed a shooting pain went through her muscles. Wincing after the first handful, she began to think of Oerba. Flowers, the people, fields, and meeting Fang at the orphanage. Wanting to close her eyes and just lose herself in those times. Vanille continued swimming and closed her eyes. The pain was still there, but was more bearable. Before she knew it, Vanille hit her feet on sand. Walking turned to crawling and by the time she was out of the water, Vanille collapsed on the sand. The water still hit her legs as she laid there. Closing her fist, she wished for everything to be over. However, Vanille didn't realize that Jihl had already sent out soldiers to retrieve her "toy". Without another thought, Vanille closed her eyes and passed out.[/ul] ---- Blizzard: Deals moderate ice damage to one enemy. (Cooldown: One post.)

It was an odd feeling. The ground beneath her feet, the sky above her, they were all so familiar to her but in the way someone who looks like a friend of yours is familiar. Fang had seen Gran Pulse after being crystallized for 500 years, and seen the difference from the place she once called home. Now things had changed again, and after being tossed from world to world for a short while it was a bit of a shock to find herself "home" once more. The people of Cocoon that had settled across it was the biggest difference. It was good to see people around once more, even if it was people from Cocoon. Not that long ago (from her perspective, anyway) she would have thought this the worst thing that could happen. People from Cocoon in Gran Pulse! Invaders, murderers, monsters, people she had to protect others from. Instead she'd ended up being the one protecting them.
"You'd think the least they could do is give me better information in return," Putting a hand over her eyes to shield them from the sun she looked into the distance for a sign, any sign. Upon finding herself in her world once more the first thing Fang had felt was relief. And then the shame kicked in. What had she accomplished? She doubted she was sent away for a "reason" or something silly like that. If it was in fact the Goddess Etro that had freed her from her crystal stasis Fang could care less what she wanted her to do. No, she was more concerned with more important things like making sure everyone was alright. She had no doubt they could take care of themselves, but everything seemed strange to her and she had no idea what anyone was getting themselves into.
Thankfully her arrival had not been that far from civilization and it didn't take too long to hear whispers in the streets that someone from PSICOM had claimed to have captured a l'Cie. "l'Cie! Weren't they supposed to be done with? Weren't they all gone with the fal'Cie?" Absentmindedly rubbing the mark that had appeared on her shoulder once again Fang frowned. Guess things can't be simple.
Still, the fact remained that if somehow a l'Cie was being held captive, it was very very likely to be someone Fang knew. Lady Luck was hardly on her side in these situations, but another fact was that if it was someone Fang knew being held captive, it certainly wasn't going to stay that way for very long.
Finally something promising came into view as Fang continued her trek. An airship! That seemed promising. In her experience airships seemed like common places to take people captive. The only problem was getting up there... But then, that wasn't really a problem for her, was it? Bahamut would help there. She smirked at the idea, nevermind that she didn't know there was a l'Cie on board int he first place. The only way to find out was to check; it wasn't as if they were going to fall from the sky!
Immediately after thinking this some sort of commotion seemed to be taking place in the air. A smaller ship was being shot at, and then it was falling, falling, falling and Fang was running towards the waters' edge, trying to get a better look. She was close enough to hear a scream and the sound of something hitting the water but it wasn't until the figure swam close enough to the shore that she was hit with a jolt of realization.
"VANILLE!" The yell accompanied her increased speed as she ran toward her frantically. Leave it to Vanille to make her own kind escape- she'd be proud if she wasn't so worried. Almost stumbling in the sand Fang fell to her knees beside her friend who had made it to shore, trying to put a hand to her wrist to feel for a pulse and shake her gently.
"Vanille, now's not the time for a nap," There was a pulse, she it was likely she had just passed out from whatever had happened. Glancing up towards the airship and thinking fast, Fang realized that she could probably carry Vanille. Carry her and fight a the same time? Maybe not. Bahamut would be in the air but so was that ship, and who knew how many people were on board. Would they chase after her? The girl had bruises and other marks on her, and at seeing this anger boiled over in Fang and she let out an almost inhuman growl, getting back to her feet and putting a hand to the spear at her back.

Theme for this Post: Caius's Theme: Final Fantasy XIII-2 OSTArmored feet stepped lightly upon the soft grass after the gateway to the Historia Crux disappeared, allowing Caius Ballad to enter this location. A cruel smirk formed upon his lips as he looked around. The power of the invading Chaos was overwhelming, he could practically taste it. Lightning and her friends had been defeated in their last battle..however Lightning had managed to escape yet again, but not before revealing who she embodied to him. As long as Lightning survived, his plans would never truly reach the end. She had to be stopped, somehow. There had to be a way to draw her out. He could always fight Serah or Noel again, but that kind of fighting got old after awhile. He needed new blood, fresh blood to fight. One that might give him just as much of a challenge as Lightning herself did. But who could do so? A nearby commotion caused his head to turn in the direction he had heard it from, causing him to run towards it. The closer he got, the more he could hear the sounds of PSICOM Soldiers approaching. The smell of nearby fresh water told him they were near a lake, and if PSICOM was involved, then they were likely after the now rare L'Cie. Turning his body in the direction he heard the soldiers speaking, he managed to catch a glimpse of a nearby squad. Retrieving Ragnarok from his back he jumped in the air and pointedh is blade towards where he had spotted the PSICOM soldier and send a powerful Inferno spell towards them, lighting the entire wooded area they were approaching from ablaze. "Squad leader to HQ! Squad Leader to HQ! Something attack-AAAAAAAGHHHHHHH!!!" came the last cry of the PSICOM soldier trying to call for help as the Inferno consumed him. "Good, now I can go see for myself what you were chasing..." Continuing on his path, Ragnarok was placed back in its sling on his back as he walked. In a few minutes he came upon the body of water Vanille had crashed in, eyeing the wreckage of the airship as well as the unconscious pink haired girl...as well as... "Oerba Yun Fang..." Fingers once again wrapped around the bonelike handle of Ragnarok, sword drawn quickly as he spotted the two L'Cie that should -definitely- not be walking. Everyone knew that they were in the pillar holding up Cocoon, preventing it from crashing into Pulse. "I had the pleasure of defeating your friend Lightning in combat. All the Chaos you feel around you..the darkness in the very air, is a result of that battle. You could even say Pulse has been reformed in my image."That blade of his found itself pointed directly at the woman with just the quickest of movements, eyes and chest glowing red as he called on the powers of Chaos. An eye opened up just a little bit above the hilt of his weapon, glowing red as well. "Both you and Vanille here are Paradoxes, a Paradox that I would be a fool to allow to continue existing. Prepare yourself, for not even Lightning will be able to save you." Ragnarok soon found itself engulfed in purple and black flames before the Immortal Guardian shoved the blade deep into the dirt, unleashing a powerful violet colored shockwave towards both women. Abilities Used: Inferno: Powerful fire based magic. Caius calls forth his magical energy into his sword once again, this time swinging the blade towards his foe to send a wave of pure raging flames towards his opponent. (cooldown: 3 posts) Blast Wave: Caius channels magical energy into his sword before stabbing it into the ground, sending a shockwave towards his foes. (cooldown: 2 posts)

The Palamecia.
Jihl’s battleship was still standing in Gran Pulse. After the torture that she inflicted to Vanille, the Lieutenant of the PSICOM Army was feeling rather happy with herself. One of those lousy rats was down. Not permanently down but… Vanille got a taste of what happens to someone that crosses path with Colonel Nabaat. Her green eyes where focused on the wand that was once Vanille’s weapon. Jihl was analysing it. Such a rude design. Those wretched L’Cie and they’re primitive weapons. Tch. Pathetic. Jihl tossed the wand with a look of despise in her eyes, hearing the weapon crack against the steel floor of the ship, while she was still standing where once was Dysley’s throne.
“Any news about those rats?” Jihl inquired her officers that were working at high speed in the computer scans “Please, don’t tell me that you lost Vanille from sight. I would not tolerate such failure from your part.”
“We seem to got an alarm from one of our squadrons, Colonel Nabaat.” Said one of the officers. “We just lost contact with them in the area 51B.” Jihl rose an eyebrow and stood up, grabbing her baton with rage. Did someone annihilated her troops? Maybe it was Vanille or some other L’Cie. “Show me what’s happening there! NOW!” The virtual blue screen appeared in front of Jihl as she saw her “pet” Vanille once more. A grin appeared on her face as she recognized the other one with her. Another L’Cie. Oerba Yun Fang. Two for the price of one? That was indeed a good deal. But suddenly, something else appeared on screen. The Dark Warrior that Jihl recognized almost immediately. He was the one responsible for the defeat of Lightning. The servant of Chaos.
Caius Ballad.
“Take me there.” Jihl said with after landing on the floor with a acrobatic jump. “If Caius is handling those two freaks, I shall not stand idly and watch. He can’t have all the fun and those two are mine for the taking.” The Colonel stormed off the control room, walking fast to the departure deck. Her heels stomped the metal floor with rage as the sound echoed around the ship. Caius was going to face both Vanille and Fang. She wouldn’t allow him to have such pleasure. At least not alone. As Jihl reached the departure deck, she took her summoning device from her pocket, tossing it into the air. Seconds after, her favourite beast, Kalavinka Stryker, was ready to take off.
“Let’s have some fun, shall we darling?” She said to her pet, green eyes sparkling with malice as her creature roared in response before taking flight at an extreme speed. Jihl couldn’t let Caius destroy those two without her. She needed to be present when they died. She had a reason for it. She came back from the dead for that reason alone. Destroy all L’Cie, especially the Lightning pack. Vanille might have survived once but now… Now she wouldn’t be that lucky.
As Kalavinka was flying over the area where the trio gathered, Jihl grinned, pointing her baton towards the two girls. “Kalavinka! You know what to do!” The flying beast roared once more and started to gather energy upon his wings. The electricity levels were over the charts. That was why Jihl was so found of him. And she didn’t had to say anything else. Kalavinka shot a powerful Thundaga against Fang and Vanille, letting them know that a new person had entered the battle.

Ever since Noctis had taken down Kalavinka Stryker that had attacked Vanille, after he had teleported her to a safe distance, he had turned his back later on to find out the I'Cie girl was gone. So had the two fated warriors of Caius and Lightning, Noel and the strange man in black that ran like lightning, and as the Chaos from Vahalla poured into Pulse to signify they had been successful in corrupting the world he found himself scattered and separated from his friends. But one trail was still fresh... wandering through the forests in his youth, he had become accustomed to finding his father from trail markers, and eventually caught up to Jihl escorting Vanille onto a nearby airship. Throwing one of his weapons to pierce into the side, Noctis teleported up to it and used it as a platform, continuing the actions until he was safely on board entering a hatch from outside. From there, it was a cake walk... he was great at stealthing around, being able to teleport in tight spots to avoid the guard patrols, until Vanille had made her escape made known through the on-board alarm much like Lightning, Fang, Snow and Hope had heard in the past... might as well reveal himself while he was at it.
Code purple! Code Purple! Hostile I'Cie on board! came the overheard announcement, and knowing he was not one of the I'Cie, he continued to look through the ship to find and assist Vanille. Of course, the guards had increased and tightened patrols, and sooner or later they came across him. Which was unfortunate... for them. Noctis easily dispatched squadron after squadron of these PSICOM soliders, not without difficulty, but still could manage on his own. Sooner or later, he watched as a airship escaped from out the window, and realized Vanille had engineered her own retreat.
What now?
“If Caius is handling those two freaks, I shall not stand idly and watch. He can’t have all the fun and those two are mine for the taking.”
It was that vile Jihl woman already had the displeasure of meeting, and Noctis heard her coming from the control room, sticking to the shadows and following her to the departure deck, keeping out of sight. He thought she was going to get on a airship herself, but soon enough she summoned that winged creature with hooks again... and Noctis instantly thought of an idea. Summoning his lance, he threw it with truest aim through the air, instantly teleporting the moment it struck the creature in the back. Saluting after Jihl with a cool gesutre as if to say 'Thanks for the ride', he rode the electric beast as it swooped sown with ferocious speed towards it's target... which he knew would be Vanille. What a surprise when he looked down to the beach and saw a new woman, carrying Vanille to what looked like relative safety.
Then Caius came. Noctis instantly recognized the misdirected warrior clad in violet armor, and observed as he pointed his large sword at the black haired-woman, hearing Caius reveal her name. He didn't have time to wait or even think if he was going to give Fang a hand while Vanille was out cold, and once again pulled out his halberd, throwing it down to strike the earth just short of an equal distance between Fang and Caius. As the warrior struck the earth and sent Blast Wave her way, he instantly teleported to his new weapon, and the moment he appeared he used his defensive move Coat of Arms. All of Noctis's weapons were summoned at once, blocking the blow the moment it was about to strike Fang. Next came the Thundaga, and the weapons couldn't hold out any longer as he held his halberd in his hands, purposefully allowing himself to get struck by Thundaga to take the hit for the two women.
"Lightning, maybe not... but me? Hmph, we'll just see about that." he acted in a rather cool manner to Caius, and without turning around directed his voice to Fang. "Don't concern yourself with me. I'll handle these fools; you just take care of Vanille, okay? Now, go! Run!" he said casually at first, followed by a sense of urgency in his tone. Not giving Caius any further time to retaliate, he immedately cast a small but quick blast of Fire towards the Kalavinka Stryker, then with his other hand holding his weapon vaulted it at Caius to use Telekinesis to stab the lance through the hunter's heart at the same time. More than likely the immortally aged warrior would attempt to parry or dodge, in which case the master of weapons would continue to use his mental control over his weapon to parry and chase after him in a relentless assault. He was providing cover for Fang and Vanille to escape; Fang wouldn't be able to fight with her own polearm if Vanille was out, and if she was revived then they would then have the option to fight or flee.
Battle Theme: Eidolons (So tense I know, haha.)
---
Fire: Noctis gestures with his hand, and a plume of rotating fire appears and surrounds the target. After the attack is cast, one of Noctis's weapons will appear near the target, allowing Noctis to perform Teleportation. Using this spell will also be initciating Teleportation, or can be used as the last half of Teleportation. Cooldown: Two posts. Shares cooldown with Teleportation.
Telekinesis: With little effort, Noctis can summon his weapons out of thin air with magical power, and materialize them anywhere in the free space of the battlefield. They hover within the air and are almost transparent if one doesn't look hard enough, and he can't materialize them into people or objects, so he needs to grab them out of the air and throw them in order to move them around to make offensive use of them in combat for the most part. He can also use his telekinesis to rotate them in the air, both to set a almost invisible trap in a switchblade-motion, or to orbit around his body in his defensive 'Coat of Arms' technique. He can summon one weapon at once, which he always chooses his main weapon, the Falchion as his weapon of choice along with any additional weapons. Even then, he may only use a few at a time, leaving others as back-up for projectiles or to act as a defense. (He can only summon as many weapons as there are opponents in the thread. If he uses a weapon to attack or defend, one post cooldown.)

Vanille murmured. Wake up, Vanille heard her motivation speaking to her, Wake up Vanille. Get up! "Fang? Is that you?" Vanille murmured, eyes still closed. Hearing Fang though, was motivation to at least wake up and see if it was true. To see if her mind was playing tricks on her. As her green eyes opened slowly opened and fluttered once open, she saw Fang standing. Without much thought Vanille spoke. "Fang, I'm sorry. I gave up and tried to run." Vanille said with a sob, while her eyes were closed. Vanille had made a promise to stop running and felt the need to apologize. As her fingers gripped her broken weapon, she pushed herself onto her hands and knees. Her arms ached, not as much as her legs thankfully. However each movement she was now making, seemed like a push to far. Every muscle ached. Vanille was overjoyed to see Fang though. Vanille wanted to embrace Fang, had been so long since she had seen her and with everything that had just happened... Another voice brought attention up. What? Vanille thought looking up. Vanille managed to stand on her two feet and looked at the purple haired man. Lightning gone? No! "No, you're lying!" Vanille cried. Vanille looked to Fang and took a step back. Lightning can't be gone, she can't be! Vanille thought and shook her head. "She can't be, she just can't be." Lightning was as tough as Fang was. Won't continue to let us exist, Vanille thought and pursed her lips together, I don't want to fight now. Her gaze fixed on Caius, as her eyes screamed discomfort and dislike. To her horror, the one person she had tried to escape was coming to the scene. Of course Vanille should not be to surprised since she had just escaped and Jihl would want her "toy" back, but Vanille had hoped that they would have thought she was elsewhere or had died in the airship. Weapon raised, Vanille got into a defense stance and braced herself for impact. Before both attacks could hit them, someone had stepped onto the battlefield and stopped both attacks. However with the thundaga spell, it had hit him. Hearing this man say to run, Vanille quickly shook her head. "No, I'm done running. I don't want to run away any longer." Vanille said to him. Hoping to be able to stand longer, Vanille quickly cast cure on herself. Her weapon was broken though, still usable to an extent, but not like it was. Leaving the man who had saved her twice now, well Vanille couldn't bring herself to do. Caius and Jihl were strong, no way was she leaving with Fang. From the cure she was feeling somewhat better, she was able to stop the aching in her muscles and her bruises were healed. "We're in this together." Vanille said with a bit of happiness. People who cared about her safety were here, things would be alright.[/ul] ---- Cure: Heals a small amount of health of one ally or self. (Cooldown: One posts.) How Vanille looks in the thread

At the sound of her name, Fang turned towards the source, whipping her lance out and pointing it at the figure as she stepped in front of Vanille's still form. The person walking towards them and speaking was not someone she knew, but he seemed to know her. She didn't think she liked that. Not at all.
"You take another step, we'll see if your feet work ever again," She growled, eying the stranger suspiciously. Fang didn't like the looks of him, and she was ever conscious of the fact that Vanille was lying on the ground behind her. Was this man going to try to do something? He was speaking still, and at the sound of Lightning's name Fang's attention spiked. "Defeated Lightning?" Here, despite the situation, the woman let out a harsh laugh. "I doubt that. She's nearly as stubborn as me, that one."
Lightning wouldn't let anyone defeat her. Especially not someone as sketchy as this man, whom Fang didn't know but could already sense was bad news. Especially if he was going around recreating Gran Pulse in "his" image. What did that even mean? Sure, the place felt different… But that was just because she'd been gone so long. Right? The strange feeling in the air… Suddenly anger rose up in her again. Vanille, Gran Pulse- this guy was already on her list. "Well, ain't that unlucky for you? I happen to like Gran Pulse the way it was." Already done with talking, she prepared herself to attack the man. It wasn't going to last, considering the more important thing here was to get Vanille out of the area before PSICOM decided to go after their runaway, but she couldn't very well get out of the way with this strange person there. What was he rambling about? Paradoxes?
Her thoughts were interrupted by a sudden attack not just from Caius, but from Kalavinka Stryker, which she hadn't even noticed before.
Before Fang had a chance to do more then step backwards in an attempt to protect Vanille from the attacks headed their way, another had joined the group. Some man Fang had never seen before blocked Caius' attack and took the Thundaga meant for her and Vanille before telling her to get out of there for some reason. She supposed she could assume he was on her side, but it was dangerous to assume things like that about people you didn't know. A minor battle fighting within her, Fang struggled for a moment. Run away and let someone she didn't know fight her battles, but get Vanille to safety? Or stay and fight, but risk further injury to her? This guy seemed like he could handle himself (he had an awful lot of weapons; what was the point of so many) but running didn't sit right with Fang. Luckily she was spared the choice for now by Vanille's waking up.
Immediately turning her head to her (but keeping her weapon at the ready), Fang smiled to see her friend awake, but as she spoke she knelt down beside her as if she forgot the battle for a moment. A frown fell upon her face as Vanille cried, and she placed a had on her arm to try and calm her. "Shh, don't you worry, Vanille. They wanted to keep you there, right? And you escaped. So that's not giving up, that's winning." She tried to smile at her friend but it was hard when she saw her in such a state. She leaned back to give Vanille room as she sat up, although she placed a comforting hand on her shoulder as she did so.
At Vanill'e outburst about Lightning, Fang realized the pink-haired girl was taking Caius' words far more seriously than she had been. Her gaze turned to the man again, and she shook her head. "Nah, he's gotta be lying, don't worry too much about it. Defeat Lightning? This guy? No way." Could her friend have been defeated somehow? Defeated badly enough? There was no way, in her mind. Lightning was unstoppable, it seemed. If she wanted something done she did it, and freaks this like guy were not going to get in her way. Eying Vanille apprehensively as she stood up, Fang did the same. She took a step forward to stand near the other man, glancing back at Vanille and smiling at her words. "Took the words right outta my mouth. Now, are we ready?" Without waiting for an answer, she turned and leapt towards Caius, preparing to attack a Blitz. ---blitz: 2 posts (wow i am sorry for this ensjhr)
