Everything about the place was dark, even in the daylight the world was in shadow, and the palace was lined with statues that portrayed various demons and beasts. This world didn’t seem to be aligned with either the Light or Dark... Free of the cycle. So, why were they even here in the first place? If it was already Neutral, was there truly a need to corrupt the keyhole? Of course they had their other objective... But that reason didn’t seem like enough to continue with the full plan. The Masked Man didn’t seem preoccupied by anything, simply focused on the mission at hand. He barely gave Cloud a sideways glance as he continued to walk towards the gates of the castle.
“Do we really need to do what we did to The Castle of Dreams? It already looks like this world is free of the conflict,” Cloud repeated his thoughts aloud, giving his ‘master’ a chance to explain himself and free Cloud of the doubt that plagued his mind.
“Cloud, while this may be Neutral, this world is not yet free of the war. What we do is not corruption, but a method to ensure the world remains the way we wish it.” the Masked Man replied as he stopped before the gates, explaining with a wave of his hand. “Without the world in that particular state, our other endeavor will not go as planned. This is important to understand.”
“So even if we lose, the worlds won’t return to how they were because they’ve been rid of the conflict?” Cloud asked, “And if we don’t turn the world... We won’t be powerful enough to finish the job?”
“No no no... The worlds will always change. It’s just more difficult to change it back this way.” The cloaked figure explained, opening the gates with a simple shove of his hand before continuing his advance towards the doors. “It’s not for power that we turn the world. Come Cloud, we’ve got no time to waste.”
The Imaginary SOLDIER nodded slightly at the Masked Man’s response, silently following him towards the immense entranceway to the castle. Things were slowly beginning to piece themselves together in Cloud’s mind... And he wasn’t entirely sure if he was alright with them. The corruption of the worlds that the Masked Man spread in his wake didn’t seem to go away in time like was promised... Instead, it seemed like it left the worlds in his control. Cloud had seen that much in Agrabah. Whether or not that was for better or worse he wasn’t sure yet, but he definitely knew that he was being kept in the dark about more than he liked. For now he’d continue to keep quiet though, perhaps the other involved would know more about the situation and help Cloud figure out his place in the grand scheme of things. The Masked Man’s voice drew Cloud’s attention as they made their way up the steps to the castle, Neutral’s Knight’s gaze towards the sky as he spoke.
“You see how this world still seems Dark, despite being Neutral? Even though the corruption looks unhealthy, it is such a state that cannot be associated with either side. It is a symbol for the new beginning, and as I told you before the world will return to normal... Even if normal doesn’t look like this.”
Right... Cloud thought, outwardly not responding at all as the Masked Man opened the doors to the castle and made his way inside. As Cloud followed him inside, his eyes wandered across the view: The foyer seemed small for a castle, but it led to a staircase that led to the East and West wings of the great castle. Though he could not sense Light and Dark like the Masked Man could, Cloud saw a sign that showed him that they were not the only foreigners to this world. Leading up the steps were a handful of black feathers scattered about... A clear sign that either Sephiroth or Genesis had recently been there before them. The Masked Man seemed to notice them too, staring at the feathers before looking over his shoulder at the blond.
“There’s someone here with us Cloud. We come in peace, and yet there’s a presence... One as conflicting as yours. Do you have any idea who it is?”
“Conflicting?” Cloud replied quietly, his eyes buckling as he looked at the floor. His eyes wandered back up the stairs, glancing towards the ruined west wing then back towards the well kept east wing. He signed, nodding a little. “...Yeah. There’s only two of us with wings like that. Sephiroth is set in the Darkness... So it must be Genesis.”
Genesis... What was he doing here? Cloud thought that Genesis was out looking for information on the χ-blade in order to help Sephiroth complete it? Though this castle surely had a library Cloud doubted Genesis was stupid enough to believe that the information he needed could be found here. Full of confusion, Cloud set his eyes upon the Masked Man in search for answers... But found none.
“Genesis? Well Cloud, I suppose you can handle this one.”
“But I-“
“But you what? Can’t take care it? He could be useful.” The Masked Man locked eyes with Cloud as he finished, and the blond could almost see the smirk that must lie underneath the mask. With a swish of his cloak, the Masked Man turned his back on his ally and made his way up the staircase to the doors that led to the magnificent ballroom. Without even looking back, he disappeared through the doors and let them slam behind him. Cloud sighed, setting his eyes back upon the feathers that were fallen upon the staircase.
“Guess it’s up to me...” Cloud said quietly. He guessed he was dealing with Genesis after all, whether as an ally... Or a potential opponent.

Who would have expected more visitors to arrive at the castle? There were rumours that this magnificent castle belonged to not a man, but a monster. Some sort of gigantic wolf that could walk on it's hind legs and speak in the tongue of mankind. Stories of the residents of the castle being turned into mundane objects were common in the towns and villages that dotted the great forest. Whispers spoke of a gorgeous young woman who lived within the castle walls, as a means to 'tame' the beast who dwelled within and aid the residents to return to the humanoid selves. None of the above was of any interest to one man who walked the cold, silence corridors of this unusually dark world. No, not in the slightest. Many beasts had been viewed in the eyes that glowed as brightly as the candle flames. Countless spells of every nature had been witnessed. Several young woman of all kinds of beauty had passed before him. None of them were of any interest. No. Instead, there were much more curious rumours being spread around, ones that were being kept amongst very few people.
Apparently, there was a man traveling from world to world, returning them to a neutral state but corrupting them with some sort of mysterious power. Why was he doing this? Who was this man? What was his purpose of returning a world to neutral? Where did he come from? How was he corrupting the worlds? It was so fascinating to him that his more pressing problems of having to deal with a certain silver-haired legend, were currently put on hold. Who cared about the X-Blade or Kingdom Hearts? If there was a man out there doing what he could to restore a balance between Light and Dark and to possibly end the war that was forever brewing across the worlds... he had to find him. So, what better location to try and meet this mysterious traveler then a world that already belonged to neither Light nor Dark? A natural, neutral world would surely be a prime target for whoever it was going about doing all this 'corruption', no?
Walking down the main corridor of the East Wing, Genesis Rhapsodos found himself coming to a complete halt when he heard voices coming from the other side of the door that lead into the main hallway of the castle. Perhaps it was some of the supposed 'transformed' residents speaking to one another, and he would have believed it too if it were not for one of the voices being extremely familiar. Two presences were engaging in conversation, one completely unknown but the other... there was no doubt about who it was. ~Strife...?~ Thought the auburn-haired man as he leaned into the door, pressing his ear against the large wooden object softly as he tried to listen in on what words were being shared. It was too muffled to kiss each and every word, but Cloud Strife was definitely talking to someone else in the next room. Could that have been that mysterious man? Why was Cloud talking to him? Were they possibly traveling together? What could have caused the 'ex-SOLDER' to do this and ignore the threats that loomed on other worlds?
Remaining behind the door until he heard the sound of someone leaving, Genesis silently opened the door to the entrance hall and stepped through. Leather boots echoed softly against the carpets laid upon the staircase with each step he took walking down them. Brilliant blue eyes were locked onto the figure of Cloud as Genesis made his way down the stairs, staring at him with a dangerous glare, though there was a great deal of curiosity shining within just as brightly as his eyes themselves did. Stopping when reaching the level on which the door to the ballroom was, the Crimson SOLDIER folded his arms across his chest and stared down at Strife in utter silence. No emotion was present on his face other then the curiosity shining within his eyes. Many a question danced across Genesis' lips but none of them were voiced, for instead the auburn-haired man glanced over his shoulder and pondered for a second as to whom the presence he felt on the other side of the door behind him, belonged to. It was unlike any he had felt before. Perhaps that ought to be the first question to asked as he returned his attention back to Cloud, remaining steadfast in his position as if he were stopping Strife from catching up to Masked Man.

Was there really any hope for him to persuade Genesis to join their cause? The last he knew, Genesis was searching for the infamous χ-blade in order to help his ‘friend’ Sephiroth in whatever he was planning for the worlds. He was aligned with the Darkness, an enemy of the Light... He hadn’t endured the battle between Light and Darkness like the rest of them had, so could he truly understand what they were fighting for? Would he really be willing to abandon his friends and objectives for the sake of the worlds? Cloud doubted it, letting out a small sigh. Still, he had to try. What was the worst that could happen? Certainly he could take on the Crimson EX-SOLDIER like he had on Blue Planet, especially with the Masked Man nearby to step in if things tilted in the LOVELESS Angel’s favor.
The blond Imaginary SOLDIER was snapped out of his thoughts by the sound of leather boots echoing from their contact with the carpeted staircase. Cloud tore his eyes from the feathers, looking up to glare back up into the eyes of Genesis himself. Genesis stopped directly in front of the door the Masked Man had vanished behind in order to complete his objective, crossing his arms as if he was purposely standing in the way of the One Winged Demon if he were to need Masked Man for whatever reason. The duo stared down each other for a few moments, not a word escaping them. Still, the simple action between them spoke volumes. Neither one trusted the other, and questioned the reasoning the other had being so far away from Gaia. Of course they both had their suspicions as to why, Genesis may think that Cloud was ignoring the ‘troubles’ of the worlds even though Cloud was very involved in their affairs. Cloud thought that Genesis was searching for information on the χ-blade, though he knew that it wasn’t absolutely certain. Their last meeting in Edge hadn’t been the best, and Cloud’s rudeness had forced Genesis and Angeal to leave without the help they’d desired. It was almost ironic that now Cloud was the one needing their help, the one at the mercy of the other.
“Genesis, what’re you doing here?” Cloud asked, getting straight to the point. There was no reason to try to convince the auburn haired man of anything if he was already at odds with what Cloud and the Masked Man were doing. Still, he could almost hear the Masked Man in his head. He could be useful, Cloud. Don’t blow this over old grudges. With a sigh, he continued to talk.
“...Look, I know we didn’t exactly end our last discussion on the best note. Still, there’s more important things at stake than Sephiroth’s hunt for the χ-blade. We need to talk.”

Only the howling of the winds sneaking in through cracks surrounding the window fittings and old, worn walls were the only sounds to make themselves known within the large entrance hall of the massive, medieval castle. The numerous flames danced and flicked upon the wicks of the many candles dotted about the entire room as yet another eerie howl of the wind rushed through the large room. Nothing a word was spoken from the Crimson SOLDIER as he remained standing steady at the top of the staircase. His massive black wing was tucked neatly behind his back, the reason black feathers had been left upon the carpeted staircase and all the proof Cloud needed to accuse the quoter of LOVELESS for being here. Of course, Genesis himself standing there in person was proof enough, but his presence was the only other one that could be felt beside Cloud's. Sephiroth was not here and if he were, then the auburn-haired man would surely be in combat with him over playing statues with Cloud. Yet he moved not an inch, arms still folded across his chest and his glowing eyes staying locked upon Cloud. Even as Strife spoke up first, no reply was graced.
Many thoughts were rushing through Genesis' head. The main one was why this blonde-haired man was all the way out here, so far from home. So far away from the threats and troubles that plagued other worlds. What could have been so important within this castle that it would cause the 'ex-SOLDIER', of all people, to simply drop everything else that mattered? The auburn-haired man could have sworn he heard Strife speaking to someone else and the sound of a closing door confirmed that. Indeed, there was a third presence in this castle, one lingering about behind him behind the closed double doors. But that was of little concern for now. What mattered was the man who stood at the bottom of the stairs before him. Genesis knew, as much as Cloud was aware, that their last meeting had not gone according to plan. Strife's ego and anti-social attitude forced Genesis and Angeal to leave Seventh Heaven without the information they sought. So what of now? Was this 'ex-SOLDIER' going to keep the childish act up or would be become a man once more and act with intelligence and maturity?
Maybe that strange Dark presence Genesis was getting from Cloud was proof that he had finally snapped and a battle was lingering on the horizon? Though, the man appeared to be in control of his body and mind as he spoke up once more. "You're right. We do need to talk, but you're a blind fool if you think there is something more important over the danger that is Sephiroth." Genesis' tone didn't carry it's usual politeness and poetic charm. No, his tone was mixed with a heavy dose of anger and frustration. Mako-infused eyes narrowed dangerously into a cold glare as a frown spread across Genesis face. His leather bound fingers clenched into fists as he gripped at both his upper arms, keeping his arms crossed before his chest to stop himself from lashing out and attacking this pathetic man before him. "What madness has tied a leash about your neck and dragged you away from such danger like a helpless puppy?? I thought you knew better then Zack." Genesis asked, his stance at the top of the stairs continuing to remain strong and tall. "Has the Darkness that enters your heart and cursed you with that wing, also affected your brain and way of thinking? Enlighten me to as to what you find more important, more demanding of your attention then stopping Sephiroth from murdering and destroying everyone and everything???!"
He really wasn't happy with the words Cloud had decided to speak. The next words Cloud spoke was going to determine how Genesis would act towards this man. If a good enough reason was given for his actions, then perhaps he could be forgiven. No... not forgiven. Perhaps he'd earn back a fraction of the lost respect, but not forgiven. Only time would tell.

EX-SOLDIER Unite No response. Cloud hardly expected more from the LOVELESS quoter quiet yet, though he enjoyed to ramble on the Crimson EX-SOLDIER knew when it was time to talk and time to think things through before making any rash decisions. The Imaginary SOLDIER just watched Genesis, quietly remaining on he bottom of the staircase as the thoughts continued through his head. Genesis wasn’t telling him anything without feeling Cloud had earned it, that much was certain. He could only hope this would not end in a brawl, the last thing he needed was a battle while the Masked Man was at work on the keyhole. Even though Cloud was sure he could hold Genesis back, the quicker and more peaceful this situation was handled the better. When Genesis did finally respond, he just made the blond sigh.
Genesis had no idea what was going on. Sephiroth was nothing, he was easily defeated just as he had been so many times before. Yeah he would continue to come back as long as Cloud was alive, but that always took time and they could finish the greater good before Cloud finished off Sephiroth once and for all when it was over. He took note of Genesis’s tone, just narrowing his eyes slightly as he stood there. He couldn’t reach for his blade, he had to show that he came in peace. Besides, if Genesis wanted to attack he’d see it from a mile away. The EX-SOLDIER continued to insult him, comparing him to Zack’s nickname and questioning the Darkness within his heart. Cloud just shook his head, and decided to ‘enlighten’ Genesis to what was going on, just like the LOVELESS Angel wanted.
“Sephiroth is just a thorn in our side. He’ll never succeed in getting the χ-blade because you need to be a keybearer to use it. Besides, it’s not like I can’t defeat him like every time before,” Cloud began, completely dismissing Genesis’s worry of Sephiroth in such little words. “What we’re doing is far more important than putting him down, a mission that will in the end bring an end to him and the war between Light and Dark that has plagued us ever since Cosmos and Chaos summoned us to that meaningless struggle.”
As Cloud spoke he started walking up the steps, until he was only a few steps down from Genesis. Crossing his arms across his chest, the demon spread his wing as he continued, turning his back on the One Winged Angel.
“By turning the worlds to Neutral, we weaken both the Light and Dark. We’re preparing for the final battle where we’re force both parties back into permanent retreat, ending the war once and for all. We can finally have the peace we desire,” Cloud nodded. “The Light is blinded by its good yet short sided intentions, refusing to believe that anything done not exactly as they see it is wrong and must be destroyed. The Darkness is obsessed with spreading itself and snuffing out the Light. Neither can see that they must coexist. There must be a balance, and only through that balance can there be peace. It can’t happen alone, we have to force it... But it’s better than letting the war continue, isn’t it?”
Cloud faced Genesis as he finished, locking his mako blue eyes with that of the Scarlet SOLDIER. He would continue to explain if he needed, he truly believed what they were doing was right.
...Even if he questioned the Masked Man’s true intentions. His philosophy was at least correct.

((OOC -- Lame post is lame. Sorry =/ )) The subtle rustling of Genesis' leather attire became mixed between the words spoke from the blonde-ex-SOLDIER. Lowering his arms from across his chest, the Crimson SOLDIER allowed his arms to hang by his sides as bright blue eyes watched the figure of the man before him slowly start to make his way up the carpet covered steps before him. The glare upon Genesis' face remained present as he stared at the spiky blonde. He wasn't afraid to jump into combat it if came down to that. Cloud was a powerful warrior, sure, but Genesis felt that Cloud had not used his full potential when they came to blows on the Blue Planet. It seemed that he was saving himself for something, more then likely for the time he and Sephiroth met one another again. Genesis' knew that he could take Cloud on and emerge the victor, but what was that going to achieve? Genesis needed help, he needed to find allies to help him return Sephiroth back to his old self, or to at least bring an end to his current reign of chaos.
These strange new changes that had happened to Cloud though, was making the quoter of LOVELESS start to doubt himself. The Leader of AVALANCHE was supposed to be a powerful warrior of the Light. He was when they fought one another on the Blue Planet, so Genesis could only wonder what may have happened between then and now to make the man before him different to the man he met in the past. This new found Darkness within him was clearly the most changed thing. Why would he have turned away from everything he fought for and become the thing he was trying to stop? It didn't make any sense. When the words spoken from the fake-SOLDIER reached Genesis' ears, while he admired what was said, it didn't explain the change surrounding Cloud's heart. Genesis said nothing at first, allowing the blonde before him to stop a few steps down from him and to continue explaining himself. What was said next, did cause the Crimson SOLDIER to raise an eyebrow. What Cloud spoke, was pretty much the same as what Genesis said to him back on the Blue Planet.
"You speak of 'balance', yet when I spoke of the same thing before our battle, you didn't even give me the time of day." Genesis' brow tightened, his eyes narrowing as he finally moved from his higher position over Cloud, stepping down a couple of the stairs to reach the fake-SOLDIER, where he would then raise his right arm and shove a firm palm against the chest of Strife. "Something has changed in you and I can see that the words you speak are those meant to try and win me over, to make me join you in whatever foul plot you have conjured up within your head. But it isn't you, is it? You are, as Sephiroth so calls, a 'puppet'. Someone has attached new strings to your arms and legs and you are being manipulated once more into fighting against what you believe in!" A crimson gloved hand was pushed out in another aggressive shove, attempting to force the man before him back down the steps from whence he came. Genesis' tone was also growing in both volume and anger and both the Light and Darkness within his own heart began to fluctuate, as if he were readying himself for combat. He didn't want to fight Cloud now, but if a beating would help clear his head, then so be it. "Was it the person who left this room before I entered? Has whoever that was spoke such sweet words, words you have longed to hear and has drawn you into a plot of theirs? Are they the reason this new Darkness has been awoken within you?"

The truth is just... Cloud remained silent, giving Genesis the same respect he’d given Cloud when he explained his intentions for joining the Masked Man in his effort to end the war between Light and Dark. It was true; Cloud hadn’t given Genesis the time of day before their battle on Blue Planet. The main difference now though was that he was no longer blinded by the Light. He’d begun to doubt himself when the Darkness in his heart returned the wing that he’d finally rid himself off. It wasn’t until the Masked Man that he found purpose again, and realized the error in his ways. He wasn’t a monster for having the great Darkness in his heart, he had to accept it and bring himself to balance... Just like the worlds needed to have forced upon them. They needed to learn Light and Dark needed to coexist, and to stop trying to eliminate one or the other. He winced a little as Genesis shoved his palm into his chest, throwing his foot back to keep from stumbling down the staircase.
Cloud narrowed his eyes at Genesis’s claims, that he was part of some foul plot and that he was nothing more than a mere puppet in the scheme of things. He opened his mouth to retort when he found Genesis’s hand again firmly against his chest, sending him backwards. After stumbling back a few steps he took to the air with a flap of his wing, landing at the base of the staircase with a few flaps.
“I am not a puppet! I choose my own path!” Cloud shot back, reaching back to firmly grasp the handle of Ultima Weapon. He didn’t know what kind of sick game Genesis was trying to play, that he thought by being aggressive he was going to get the answers out of Cloud that he desired. Cloud certainly wasn’t letting himself be used again... Was he? The doubt in Cloud’s eyes was evident as his mind returned to Agrabah... When Night and Cid won, it should’ve returned to normal. The Keyhole had brought the world back to Light, yet despite that the world was still corrupted like it had when it fought against leaving the cycle of Light and Dark. Was it fighting about returning to the cycle? No, that didn’t make any sense... Was it really a corruption of the world for the Masked Man’s gain? But... Why, what purpose did it actually serve? Cloud wanted answers as well, the unspoken questions Genesis had were likely the same ones lodged within his mind. After a moment he released the blade, his gaze falling from Genesis as he turned away.
“...He goes by simply the Masked Man, he keeps his true identity a secret,” Cloud began quietly. He thought he’d heard the name before but... It was best not to divulge rumors. “I’m not fighting against what I believe in... I’ve always wanted an end to the war. I just never thought of a way until now that could actually prevail.” Cloud sighed, crossing his arms across his chest. He didn’t like admitting when he felt he was wrong, or when he had doubts about the situation unless it was to his closest friends. Genesis was far from a friend, he was an opponent that had wanted to spread the Darkness and help save his ‘friend’ Sephiroth. The One Winged Angel didn’t want saving, he knew he was wrong but continued his path of destruction anyway. The only way to stop him was to destroy him, plain and simple. Still... Genesis wasn’t all bad, he had fought Shinra just like them... And now, he was trying to bring the worlds to a balance of Light and Dark, and to save a man who had once been his friend from the Darkness that consumed his heart. Was he really so different from Cloud?
“He... Had nothing to do with the Darkness in my heart. I let Hades awaken it when I was in Olympus Coliseum, trying to find Zack. That’s when I sprouted the wing, but pushed back the Darkness when I got a handle on my Light. Then after you and Angeal left, it came back. I don’t know why, at first I was just going to end it with Sephiroth, putting an end to him once and for all. But the Masked Man, he showed me that I could find peace by accepting that Darkness in my heart. If we could get the worlds to balance, then we could end the war once and for all.”
Cloud shook his head, wondering if he was going into too much. Still, he’d only thought inwardly about the doubts that plagued him about the Masked Man. He hadn’t inquired anyone about them, and if anyone was going to be brutally honest it was going to be Genesis. What advantage would he have to lie to Cloud? Despite being enemies, he had never been anything but honest to both him and Zack. After another moment of silence he sighed, scratching the back of his head before shrugging.
“His philosophy is admirable, but his actions make me question his true goals. The worlds we turn to Neutral, he corrupts them. Makes them bend to his will. He said it was only temporary, the worlds would return to normal once they accepted the Neutral but... In Agrabah, we fought a keybearer and Cid. Masked Man ordered a retreat, and the world was returned to the Light but nothing changed. It’s just as corrupted as before.”

A howling wind shot through the empty castle, causing distant screams and wails to echo about the rooms dotted about the gigantic structure before finally reaching the entrance hall. Flames dancing upon the candles flickered as the cold, night breeze found it's way into the room, the screeching following in hot pursuit as if a plague of ghosts decided to pay the SOLDIER and the Mercenary a visit. The sounds died down almost as quickly as they arrived, leaving both Genesis and Strife in silence once more. Though the wind was no distraction at all. The flickering candle flames, the subtly wafting curtains, the constant feeling of being watched. Nothing mattered. Only Cloud mattered and his attitude and anti-social behavior was not going to turn the Crimson SOLDIER away this time, Even if Strife tore out his own tongue, Genesis was not going to stop his pursuit in getting information out of the fake-SOLDIER. Something wrong was happening and it had something to do with the blonde standing within this room, and, luck have it, it appeared the assault from the quoter of LOVELESS was slowly starting to make the fake-SOLDIER crack. Even with his stern, determined reply of not being a puppet, there was an emotion within Cloud's eyes that Genesis had been searching for and the instant the fake-SOLDIER locked eyes after stumbling to the base of the stairs, Genesis saw it.
And he smirked.
A name was then revealed, someone going by 'Masked Man'. Then Cloud went on to explain he wasn't fighting against what he believed in. Sure, all Cloud wanted was to end the war between the Light and the Dark. Heck, nearly everyone did. It wasn't something be embarrassed about. Though Genesis could see that look in Cloud's eyes. It only lasted for a second, but he saw it and he was going to capitalize on it. Cloud had started to show doubt. Whether it was doubt over his actions or doubt over what this Masked Man was doing, doubt over speaking to Genesis, doubt of being in this place at this time... it was unknown. But that didn't matter. Genesis knew he was now onto something and Cloud had made a serious mistake of confirming it. Genesis said nothing, didn't move at all, only continued to listen as Cloud spoke up again, explaining further that it wasn't Masked Man who awoke his Darkness. More names were mentioned, including Zack's. Sure enough, the quoter of LOVELESS brought his right hand up to his forehead where he gently pressed his fingertips against his brow, shaking his head from side to side as he did so and letting a drawn out chuckle escape from his lips.
"Never before have I laid eyes on a bigger fool then you, Cloud." The Crimson SOLDIER finally spoke up, closing his eyes as he shook his head from side to side once more, more soft laughter escaping his lips. Sure enough, Genesis lowered his hand from his forehead and crossed his arms over one another before his chest. Reopening his bright blue eyes, staring at Strife like a hawk, Genesis just shook his head from side to side again, his auburn hair swaying across his eyes as he did so. "You say his philosophy is admirable, yet you know he corrupts the worlds and bends them to his will? How is bending a world to his will going to take it out of the war between Light and Darkness? Surely it's only adding a third side to this war and introducing even more problems? Just how naive are you? You say you're not a puppet, but I cannot see Cloud Strife for all the strings!!" Genesis let out an exasperated sigh, looking away from the fake-SOLDIER as he did so, casting his gaze off towards the small reading room where Sora and his party arrive when coming to this world via their Gummi Ship. Another shake of the head, much more subtle this time as many thoughts begun to race through the Crimson SOLDIER's head.
"You question this Masked Man's true goals, you know his power corrupts the worlds and have seen with your own eyes that if Light or Darkness fight back, the corruption doesn't disappear, yet despite this, he still holds great influence over you? He has his thumb planted so firmly upon you that you're utterly blind as to what he is doing?!" Genesis glanced back at the man at the bottom of the stairs for but a moment before turning about to glance over his shoulder, resting his eyes upon the wooden double doors that lead into the Ballroom. If the Masked Man was in that very room, about to corrupt this world with whatever 'Neutral' power Cloud claimed he possessed, perhaps it would be better off to simply take this monster out right now and deal with Cloud another day? Though something was nagging the Crimson SOLDIER in the back of his mind, something warning him that going alone could prove fatal. Cloud may or may not have earned the trust of the Masked Man, so perhaps the fake-SOLDIER could be more useful then he first thought? That all depended on Strife though. The fool was much too hard headed to see past his own goals and ambitions. If he so desired to see peace brought to all the worlds, maybe he was going to continue fighting alongside this Masked Man, regardless?
"Tell me everything you know about this Masked Man and this 'corruption'. You may have the puppet strings tied before your eyes to block your sight of what's happening, but I have not. There is already enough problems between the Light and the Darkness as it is, we don't need someone else butting in and causing more trouble and we certainly don't need you turning into another backing this creature and being to blame for this 'corruption'!! Wake up for Gaia's sake!!"

Which side's my own The Imaginary SOLDIER hadn’t notice the smirk that found itself upon the LOVELESS Angel’s lips, too lost in his thoughts to notice anything going on around him. Not that he was even looking at Genesis to begin with. Cloud’s doubts were too strong for him to suppress anymore, and he was certain that the redhead would pick up on it. Genesis wasn’t stupid; it took a lot more than pure brawn to become a SOLDIER First Class. They were generals, needing to be able to think on their feet and figure things out with little to no notice. No soon had he finished speaking did the One Winged Angel’s words bring Cloud’s eyes back upon him, calling Cloud a fool. Then he laughed, laughed! What did he think as so funny in the situation, Cloud couldn’t begin to tell. He was being honest, opening up about the situation as he had been requested and no he as being made fun of for it. He locked eyes with the auburn one, respectfully letting him say his peace. Genesis questioned Cloud, requesting more information about the Masked Man. It was almost if he hadn’t even been listening, Cloud already said that the Masked Man’s actions didn’t line up with his words, he wasn’t being led blindly he followed hoping that in the end they would line up but with what happened in Agrabah Cloud was starting to doubt if that was even possible anymore. He clenched his fists, taking an angry breath at the mention of being called a puppet again. Still he kept silent, letting Genesis continue. What he said next hit home however, despite the anger that had flared within him and brought Cloud’s gaze downward again. It lasted only a second before his eyes met Genesis’s again, but it showed how Cloud was similar to what Genesis had said. He was following the Masked Man despite his doubts, but again it was because Cloud had hope in his philosophy and that Neutral’s Knight truly believed in what he said. He wasn’t blind, he just... I just was hoping in vain... Now he came out, asking Cloud straight forwardly for the information he had about the Masked Man and his corruption. Again he insisted that Cloud was a puppet, and this time Cloud took the few steps back to Genesis and grasped him by the front of his collared SOLDIER turtleneck to pull his face down to his own. His voice was cold when he spoke, his mako eyes locked with those of the EX-SOLDIER. “I follow my own path, even if I’m blinded by hope. I am no one’s puppet!” Cloud shouted, showing Genesis back a bit. He took a deep breath, cocking his hip to the side while he scratched the back of his head. He’d let his temper get the best of him, but now it was time to tell Genesis what he knew. Hopefully this would end this quarrel, and maybe... Just maybe Cloud would help betray his allies once again. The thought made him sigh, but he pushed the thought of whether he belonged to the Darkness out of his mind for now. His focus was going to be on the now, the past and future he could figure out later on. “I don’t know his name, haven’t seen his face. I just know that his words and actions don’t match up. He claims to want to end the war, removing the worlds from it. Instead, he bends them to his will, using them to defend himself. I hoped he was telling the truth, that it was temporary because the world resisted being removed from the war... But I was wrong, Agrabah showed that when he let the Light win in vain. It’s still corrupted, regardless of the side that wins. Ever since then I’ve been doubting, but I just... I wanted to believe,” Cloud sighed, just shaking his head. He didn’t know what to do anymore, tearing his eyes from Genesis to gaze to the door which the Masked Man had entered. Was he jumping the gun too soon, making assumptions? There was so little information for him to decide either side, it was nothing but a bunch of ‘what ifs’ and ‘maybes’. Everything the Masked Man had said added up, had made perfect sense except what had happened in Agrabah. He wanted to brush that off as just one thing, but it was too big of a thing to just shrug off. It contradicted his entire philosophy, and Cloud just... He couldn’t figure it out. Genesis was trying to get him to see that the Masked Man had lied to him, but Cloud wanted so badly for what had been said to be true that he just couldn’t let the thought escape his mind. It was obviously though, Cloud just wanted to ignore it. He couldn’t anymore though, he needed to face reality and ‘wake up] as Genesis had said. With a heavy hearted sigh, Cloud took a few steps past Genesis with his focus still upon the door. “But I was wrong to hope, and now everyone’s in danger because of me. We have to stop him, before it’s too late.” Cloud said quietly, then shook his head. He just... Couldn't bring himself to look at what lay behind it.
