And your head down low;
Traverse Town. He hadn't been back here in a while, not since he had gained his new clothing and met Neku, starting his Mark of Mastery. But the little world made up of the remnants of worlds taken by the Heartless was still here, the same old town still steeped in the darkness of night, and Sora found himself doing the same old rounds to check if the quiet shelter for castaways from other worlds was peaceful. He still had vague memories of fighting the Xehanorts here, so the town would be far from being bullied by the villains who sheltered here in the shadows, not to mention the Heartless. But more excitedly, he had overheard the mention of someone noticing not only a keyblader besides himself was around, but the unmistakable description of a short white duck in blue clothes. That could only mean one of his closest friends, and he pushed open the doors of the Second District excitedly.
Laid out before him was the courtyard of the Second District; he was on a raised walkway above the fountain in it's center, hotel on his left-hand side, a row of shops and a church on his right-hand side, and off to the far end on the opposite side was the Gizmo Shop. Nothing seemed to have changed, and he noticed how eerily quiet it seemed; no Heartless, no Dream Eaters, not even Nobodies or the Unversed. Or even a soul in sight, and he felt his hair stand up on the back of his neck from the cold wind, but also a slight apprehension of no enemies about. Then of course, they came; the bane of the keyblade, the Heartless began to appear from spawning Corridors to Darkness. Sora held out a hand and summoned his Kingdom Key to clutch in both as they surrounded him from all sides, and with a exasperated sigh of having to do the same thing he had done countless times before, with a renewed determination in reminder of why he was doing it he charged forth to defeat the Heartless.
~~~
Several minutes later, Sora had eliminated the last of the Heartless in the area. He exasperatingly let out a sigh of relief, slinging his keyblade over his shoulder in a pose of victory. Well, whoever entered this area now could do so at ease, now that his presence of destroying the Heartless would stop any new ones from entering for a long time. He was now standing back where he had entered the area, looking about for any signs of the people he had heard were here, but hadn't seen anyone just yet. "Heya...?" He got the feeling he wouldn't be without company for long, though... as he heard several footsteps approach.
It had been a miracle that Donald managed to find himself escaping the clutches of Daisy for even a moment. Ever sine he had returned to Disney castle, it seemed she was so intent on making sure that he did not run off again on some wild adventure. She may be a duchess, but Donald was the court wizard! He had to follow the order’s of the king, even if the orders were asked by Donald, sometimes begged, simply to get away from Daisy. It wasn’t like he hated her. No, he deeply cared and loved for her, since she was his girlfriend, but the duck needed his space sometimes! It’s why he had begged King Mickey to send him on this mission to Traverse Town. He’d called for any reason to be sent out, and the King just happened to point out there were rumors of another Keyblade wielder out there, potentially in Traverse Town. Another one, like Sora, Riku, and Kairi? He waited no time in getting there then, and as soon as he could had gone to Traverse Town.
Of course, he’d taken a moment to wander the streets. They weren’t as populated as before, with many of the worlds now returned, but there were still those displaced. Having patrolled a good bit of the Third district, Donald was finding himself now within the second, passing through the old factory and the home of the Dalmatians. Seems Pongo and Pertie had left with their pups some time ago. Who’s to say when in the past 4 years, but the house was empty now, though it still smelled of dog a little. How was it the smell of dog permeated so well across worlds? Pluto had the same smell, which must have made it universal! Regardless, he had exited the House just in time to hear the familiar sound of the Heartless poof. That sounded like someone fighting Heartless, and that meant maybe it was the Keyblade weilder! A glance to see a small heart floating up showed that it was indeed a key blade weapon that had inflicted the kill, which was wwhy Donald had begun an all out run to find the person.
He’d reached close enough and was on the upper walkway to see that it wasn’t a new keyblader as thought, but Sora. Well, not part of the mission but Sora! Sora was still a sight for sore duck eyes, and as he ran to the boy with the Kingdom Key, Donald waited till he was close to yell out a loud “Sorrraaaaa!”, alerting the boy to his presence. Well, the boy probably wasn’t a boy any more, but he was still Donald’s friend, and when he was close enough, Donald leapt up and meant to hug Sora, but miscalculated and potentially might have tackled him to the ground. Well, it would be a way to tell how strong the boy had gotten for sure!
It had been two years; two and a half almost, now, and still Terra found it hard to grasp the fact there were many worlds beyond her own. Traverse Town – like the many others – was not just foreign in her eyes, but in concept and structure as well. The buildings were different; the people were different; time was different; even darkness and light were different.
Between them, some sort of balance that never fell short of wonderment, existed. Perhaps existed was not the right word, because often the two blurred in and out of each other. Beings, which she learned were called Heartless had once and did once, seal many of the worlds in darkness; the World of Ruin included. At the time, Kefka's Tower stood tall and looming, as she assumed it still did. In truth, she had not returned there. Everyone was gone . . . why would she? Only shells remained and like seashells, they were swept away by memories she no longer wished she bore alone. The 'god' Kefka had been defeated once; she had been spared, but now everything moved on in a twisted cycle of repetition. The Tower stood, magic swelled in her veins and the Warring Triad stood above all, basking in the glory which they once held over one another and the World of Balance. Yet, now everyone was gone. Locke, Edgar, Celes … and the rest. Why after all this time was she here and they were not?
Rather absentminded of her, she walked. From the sanctuary of the First District – which she now called home along with those that too had been swept here – and towards the Second District, wherein the creatures (heartless), lurked and formed in twisting and morphing shadows. Even in such a state, instincts took over above all else. She had never been defenseless and was not now. She had fought 'them' before – if only while the key-bearers were missing in action – and would do her part in protecting the safest portion of the town of Traverse. That, she owed the others whom had welcomed her here as if she belonged. There were those that could not defend themselves and it was they she fought for, in their stead. Many had left as the worlds had been restored to the light, but still she lingered, not lost, but without the motivation to leave. Here, she could do good and in her heart she knew she could not bring down Kefka's Tower (alone). Here she still had purpose.
To her surprise, the Second District was quiet having already been calmed. It took her more than few steps to realize that though, however. She had seen the portal from above when it opened and after such a long time spent, knew it was how they traveled; how they took shape and form to spread their darkness in whichever way they saw fit. In that, she had been ready to deal with them: rapier out and fire blazing in one hand. Rounding one corner, she stepped along the cobblestone path, only to see the walkway and what appeared to be a humanoid Duck leaping into the arms of a grown boy of brown hair and cute (perhaps even naive) disposition. The fire that glimmered lit up her fair skin, and flickered in the blinks of her blue eyes. Not taken aback in the least, she continued forward. The flames dispersed as she went, and her rapier slid into its sheath. The heartless had already been dispatched.
She had caught the boy's name by mistake: Sora. Actually, it could not really be told as her mistake, the duck had practically shouted it for all to hear. Sora had no visible weapon (at least from her angle for the duck blocked her view of the keyblade); did the duck send them away? She wondered. Not presently aware of what a rising heart meant, she did not even make the connection that the dark beings had been killed by one of the key-bearers. In fact, she had never seen a key-bearer; so it was not like she would recognize the signs left in his wake. Looking up at them, several feet above and across the way of cobblestone, she waved making herself known. Lingering in shadows did not suit her and it would be wrong of her to eavesdrop.
"I take it you took care of them? Terra did not say their name, but it was obvious enough to what and whom she was referring: the Heartless, for aside from the Duck and Sora, only they had been there moments ago. Still, the small and serene smile she bore suggested she would have been at ease if they had not dealt with the darkness. Of course, the spell and her sword had already been a testament to that fact (if they had seen her approach).
She took several steps towards the walkway and in one fluid motion, she leapt up onto the platform, landing thereafter upon the weight of one palm and the soles of her feet along with the soft taps of boot-heels upon stone. When she looked up, she saw the keyblade slung upon Sora's shoulder and her eyes widened. Then, she pushed off her palms and stood upright, dusting herself off as she did so. For now, she said nothing further and only stared, partially in amazement and partially out of curiosity. He wields one . . . a key, she thought.
Bonnie was just minding her own business, breaking into shops and taking stuff while wondering how to find Clyde. The world seemed a pointless one that had nothing valuable, but her habit to steal practically anything that was not bolted down kept her going from shop to shop. While breaking open a door in one of the shops, she heard some fighting outside having started. At that point, she only went to the window to take a quick peek to see a boy fighting black creatures. None of it she recognized, although the floating hearts seemed for a moment interesting until she doesn't see where they went, so she practically ignored it and went back in to continue her 'job'.
After a while, the popping sounds seemed to have stopped and Bonnie thought all the black creatures were taken down. A strange voice similar to that of some kind of water bird shouting a name made her raise an eyebrow while trying to stuff all the things she had taken into a big bag. Having taken practically everything that she could take from the shop, she walked to the window again to check what was going on, although it was hard to see everything from her position.
Having learned that only few came to this district, she figured she could make one of the stores a hideout as she walked out of the shop and went around to walk towards the people that were gathering down below. A human boy with a strange weapon, a duck creature and a human girl they appeared to be to Bonnie.
“Wèèèlll, what's hap'nin' here?” The green alien asked as she was getting closer, she was hoping the district would remain empty and people stayed away.
Everybody saying Heyo
"DONALD!" Sora hollered, laughing in a mixture of joyful surprise and relief to see one of his closest friends was alright. He continued to laugh uncontrollably as Donald leaped into a hug, and opened a arm to catch him to return the snuggly gesture, only because his Kingdom Key was in his other hand he had to hold down to the side to avoid getting his feathered friend hurt. The weight of the small duck made him barrel over again on his backside, just as he had done returning from the Door to Light into Destiny Islands all those years ago, but at least he had landed on the part of his body that had come with built-in airbags! "Aww, good to see you again too. How have you been? Where's Goofy?" he chuckled, finishing nuzzling his friend being adorable in a affectionate mood, before letting go of him. Goofy usually traveled with Donald if he wasn't with Sora, or maybe he was with the King? Either way, he guessed he had lucked out and been rewarded from staying back and clearing out the Second District after so long.
His laughter trailed off as he noticed they weren't alone, hearing a voice, and stood up on his feet to get a better view at the source of the feminine tone. He looked down and saw a young slender woman with a kind, smiling face, and after a moment got what she meant. But not before she leaped up onto the platform, and waited for a moment for herself to stand fully upright. He observed her emerald hair for a moment, wondering if he had seen this uniquely-clothed woman before that stood out from the other plainly-clothed civilians. "Oh, you mean the Heartless? Yeah, don't be afraid, they're all gone now. Heya! I'm Sora, and this is my good friend, Donald Duck. Who are you?" he asked politely, giving her a sincere and heartfelt smile back, introducing himself warmly and formally even though she already had heard his name.
After a pause however, a new being came running up to them. Sora almost thought for a moment it was Stitch, but... the creature that was shorter than Donald was green, not blue. "Oh, hello... we're just saying hello. Hey... you wouldn't happen to be part of Stitch's ohana, are you?" he questioned, looking at the small creature in wonder. She was holding a large sack of goods behind her, obviously weighing several times her own small weight, which was a good tip-off she was a relative of his small blue alien friend. But what exactly was in the sack, and did it have anything to do with them?
Yeah, the jump had been a little too forceful, with Sora falling flat on his behind when he caught Donald with one hand. Donald hugged Sora tight on the ground, glad to see his spiky-haired friend again and nuzzling him close. There was a small sense of déjà vu, with this mimicking Sora’s return on the Destiny Islands beach after disappearing on the World that never Was. That had been frightening, not knowing what had become of Sora and Riku. He stepped back a bit once Sora had asked his questions, smiling brightly. “Good! Been Good!” he cheered, hopping off Sora and about to answer him about Goofy. The dog Goofy wasn’t too bad himself, but only Donald had been sent on this mission. He’d asked Goofy to join him, but the Knight Commander couldn’t be found it seemed. Well, Mickey had explained it as him being more preoccupied. Probably thanks to Max. Wasn’t the boy about to become a full fledged Knight himself? Gosh, soon his own Nephews might enter into the Wizarding school, if they didn’t continue like their Uncle Scrooge and go into Business.
He was going to explain this to Sora when the voice of the new woman caught Donald and Sora’s attention, Donald opening his eyes wide and squawking a bit. He stared at the green-haired girl as she stood on the edge in the way she did, Sora doing the introductions. She didn’t seem familiar at all, Jiminy journal or no, but she didn’t seem like a Traverse Town resident like the rest. This girl… she held power, Donald could sense that somehow. She also didn’t refer to the Heartless outright, instead letting Sora take the first cue in naming them. Why was that? Did she not want the Heartless to be named by her or something, or was it just her way of being and acting? It was odd, and Donald didn’t like it. It wouldn’t be the first time they’d been fooled by someone who acted odd, and Donald wouldn’t have it. He kept his guard up, but did his best not to seem ready to strike. If Sora was okay with things, then he had to trust the boy’s heart, right? Plus she had a nice smile, and Donald had to at least return the smile.
The appearance of the small green creature caused Donald to once more Quack in surprise, turning to look at her--it was a her, right?--and tilt his head. She looked so remarkably like stitch, the little blue creature Sora and them had seen wandering around Radiant Garden. But She also sounded more… Well she had a strange accent, but she talked somewhat normally. Sora was probably right to think of her as part of Stitch’s Ohana, his circle of friends, but in what Vein? Well, they’d probably find out soon enough.
Terra nodded; she could see that well enough: the Heartless were gone and more importantly their slippery essence taken away with them. She did not step closer, but allowed her gaze to part from the boy's key in order look over – up and down – his companion the Duck named Donald. Since her arrival she had grown used to strange, yet somehow intelligent creatures and beings. Donald was no exception and that was just well enough for her. Magic flowed through him and although she was not aware if he could sense the same within herself, it made her heart rest peacefully. If there had been any dark in him, she did not doubt that in this world she would have felt its presence. To put it simply, things were thinner here. Between light and dark the line of exclusion had faded as well as it had between the magical and the normal; blended all together, it made Traverse Town a rather unique place to be. She could not say she enjoyed it, but it sure did not lack in interest and intrigue.
“Terra,” she replied, “my name is Terra.” It had been awhile since anyone had bothered to ask of her name, and it showed in the way she took to the answer. Hesitant. Taken aback by the question as if she had suddenly been lightly struck across a cheek, she regained composure though near the end, steadying her voice into a calm flow. Perhaps she should have added more, but she did not and in the time that had passed, there was already another that had approached. For a moment – more out of habit than ill-will – she brought the briefest of flames to a hand while the opposite reached for her sheathed blade. However, when she saw what had come, her hand fell loose and the magic faded almost entirely. 'Twas foolish to the think it was them again; she could not help remaining on guard though. When it, rather, she (the creature), spoke, Terra smiled. Rather cute, she thought, although she had doubts to whether or not the other two thought the same. Yet, at least Sora seemed to know a friend of the little one; Stich he said and Ohana, both strange words to her but still had an air of familiarity. That eased the tension a bit, despite the fact she had only just met him, there was something that told her she did not need to be wary around him, or his friend for that matter.
Without thinking further, Terra crept slowly forward and knelt to bring her height equivalent ( or at least closer) to that of Bonnie. An instinctual tactic, learned from many encounters with the monsters of her home land. The smaller ones – although still dangerous – typically felt less threatened when a person of three or even four times their size made some manner of conscious effort to exist on their plane of sight. “What might your name be, little one?” She asked. It could have been taken as an insult: little one, but coming from Terra it was anything but one.
The sack which Bonnie carried was of no concern to the Half-Esper, so she made no effort to find out or wonder about its contains. Later, she might come to realize what such a small creature was doing sulking about the Second District with a bag of goodies, however for now such accusations were tucked far away in the recesses of her mind. Still kneeling, she turned her head towards the left where Sora still (presumably) stood, "Friend of yours?" From the way he made it sound earlier, he perhaps either knew Bonnie, or that he knew someone related to her. Regardless she went on ahead to address what was on her mind: "You're one of the one's they speak of; you're a key-bearer." She said this as nonchalantly as if the fact was already plainly obvious, and perhaps to those (other than she), it was. After all, this was her first time being around one whom could naturally dispatch the Heartless . . . and release them from their torment.
The three were a strange bunch to see, but at least the duck and the human boy seemed to know each other. So perhaps just meeting up or came there due to the fighting. Bonnie didn't really know all that much, especially not about the black creatures. Seeing they just were saying 'hello', she guessed she hadn't to worry all that much.
Being asked about Stitch, reminded her of the blue experiment. Another of Dr. Jumba's genetic experiments. “Well, yeah!” She responded as she was now curious if she could find Clyde or even Stitch through this bunch. “I know Stitch, haven't seen him in a while, but I am tryin' to find him or another of... the ohana,” she was thrown into jail due to the blue pest. Even if she was taken out during some therapy and such, she never really will get used to a life without performing her main 'purpose' that Jumba placed on her and Clyde.
Bonnie sized up Terra that had knelt down, it did bother her as it appeared like the woman was looking down on her, “... I'm Bonnie.” She did wonder if Sora knew Stitch well and thought she could hear that answer by hearing the answer to Terra's question to Sora. The second question was a confusing one, though, “key-bearer? Ya were fighting with a key, weren't ya?” She wondered as she had actually seen Sora fighting for a moment while minding her own business.
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,480px,true][atrb=cellpadding,3px,true][atrb=cellspacing,3px,true][bg=939d8f] Won't keep my voice down
Won't keep my voice down Know the words I speak are the thoughts I think out loud Well, whatever was in the sack, Donald didn't seem phased at all by it. Not unless the relative of Stitch's let it slip and it was treasure, then he's probably see Donald's eyes light up like he did at the jewel in Agrabah. At any rate, he laughed. "Good, that all's good. Hey, like my new clothes? I'm still on Yen Sid's Mark of Mastery, and I woke up here dressed like this." he told Donald, but also extended it to the newcomers towards his new threads. "It's really good to see you, Donald." he remarked warmly, as if it were old times traveling with him again. The young woman told them her name as he looked her way, and Sora felt as if a memory was coming back to him, but no matter how he tried to grasp and hold the memory down it would slip away. "Terra... Terra. Why does that name sound so familiar... oh well. Nice to meet you, Terra!" he shook the faded recollection of the name, and smiled at Terra since she was brand new to him. Although, the smile almost threatened to slip away when she showed hesitance in her own introduction, and nerves as she showed she could wield the magic of fire as well as the presence of a thin blade by her side. "Everything okay? It's alright; all the Heartless are gone for now, and if she's one of my friend's ohana, I'm sure she doesn't mean any harm. Oh yeah... 'ohana' means family, and Stitch has been looking for them." he reassured with that smooth and calm voice of his, along with the return of his brilliant smile. He watched for a moment as Terra knelt down to the Stitch look-alike's height, as Sora often did for Donald and those his height to show respect they were equals, and having already answered her question about if the green one was a friend or relation of theirs he was about to answer about being a key-barer when the latter spoke up. "Oh, that's great! Stitch was trying to find you, too! We met on another world, and we joined each others circle of friends... I guess you could say we're ohana now too." Sora cheered jubilantly, now crouching to the same height as Donald and Bonnie so it wasn't more insulting he was looking down upon them. "If you like, I could call Stitch here now, and you two can catch up!" he suggested, thinking about Stitch's Ukelele Charm. The blue guy was small, but he sure was strong and had helped Sora win over the likes of even Kadaj and Bahamut SIN. The question about his keyblade came up, and he held up his weapon slowly to show everyone his Kingdom Key as he held it out horizontally before himself, how the silver, gold and metallic blue colors reflected in the twilight of the night. "Oh, yeah, I guess I am what you would call a key barer. And it's called a keyblade." he corrected Bonnie, not thinking much about it. He had had it for some years now, and with so many of his friends having one now, he didn't think it was much of anything too special to brag about. But to Terra and Bonnie, he guessed they were new to these worlds if they were in Traverse Town, and had probably never seen a keyblade or a keyblader before. "So, what are you girls doing in Traverse Town? Is there anything you want to know?" he asked, as he felt like being helpful and kind, considering if they were here these two could have been castaways from their home world. As could be imagined, Donald wasn't interested in what might be in the sack unless it was one of two things: A person, or lots of treasure. Maybe Donald had a bit of a pilfering finger, but he liked the shiny gold and treasure. Treasure meant money, and money meant being rich. And hey, if anyone ever blamed him for it, he'd turn right around and find Scrooge to blame for his liking of jewels and gold and gems and silver and... oh wow he was beginning to sound like his Uncle Scrooge now. He'd need to yell at that man soon. Even so, Donald looked to Sora when he brought up his new clothes. They were interesting, that was sure, but he kinda always liked Sora's black uniform a little more, the one's the three fairies had given him. “It looks great!” Donald said, telling at least the truth. It did look good on him regardless. “Of course it's great to see me!” Donald said with pride, striking a small triumphant pose. He softened quickly though and smiled. “But it's great to see you too Sora.” To think, Sora was taking the Mark of Mastery Exam, and by Yen Sid of all people! Yen Sid hadn't taken on keybladers since... well, not since Mickey! But with him being the last true master left...
Donald turned to Terra and watched her conjure flame and her sword. A fellow mage then of some sort, Which made Donald wonder what level of skill she had. He'd known some other mages of other worlds could sense the skill of magic in people, but he didn't share the same skill. He was a powerful mage, that was certain, but his skill in magic was formal, trained, not innate. This meant he couldn't tell outright when someone else was a proficient magic user, but he still had to give his respect to the fellow mage, even if she was weary of introducing herself and jumpy. “Yeah, Sora kicked the Heartless butts!” Donald exclaimed, whacking Sora in his back as a sort of pat on the back, smiling a triumphant grin. Nothing could go wrong when Sora was around. And he even still had his charms to summon people too! Long as Genie didn't get summoned. That blue guy was great, but also a little annoying.
Donald watched as Sora gave a speech about his keyblade, Looking to the girls wearily as he had remembered what happen the last time Sora had to explain his keyblade. Damn Jack Sparrow and his attempt at stealing the Keyblade from Sora! His heart wasn't pure enough for it though, so Sora just kept the blade as normal. Jack had been upset at that, but seemed to recover quickly too. However, Donald had to be weary if either of these two might try anything as well.
They were certainly exotic; all of them really but in this case, Terra, thought of Sora's 'new threads' as he called them. He wore cloth that bore similarities to those that lived here, but otherwise it seemed to breath of a different essence, almost as if it were imbued somehow with some unseen power. She gave them a once over and then looked again, from Donald, to Sora and then back to Bonnie. All without rising, she kept to kneeling glad that they all had been introduced, even if it was rather awkwardly done. With simple pleasantries out of the way, it was easier to see how they had all come upon this place; the small one was collecting something in that sack; Sora stayed the Heartless; Donald happened upon him from the opposite Third District no doubt patrolling given his surging energy; and she came from the First District whence the portal opened above the Second. That in short explained the strange run-in . . . to think that of all the times she came here before, that this time she finally met a key-bearer.
She neglected to comment on his attire, however was drawn back to him when he spoke of her name. At first she thought he was addressing her, but looking upon his face suggested something else entirely. It was like – for just that moment – he was somewhere else; lost in a memory perhaps, or even trying to remember one that had been forgotten. Strangely she could relate, there were things she knew happened to her, but still could not remember fully thanks to Kefka. If Sora had not been so obviously different from she, she might have suspected that they had once crossed paths during the time she had been enslaved. But . . . that was just silly he did not hail from her world, at least that much was true.
After a time – a time in which Bonnie had introduced herself – Terra replied: “Thank you, Sora, Donald, Bonnie; we are well met.” Her head lowered and towards each of them she bowed it in a further sign of respect. Despite knowing so little, there was something to be said about those that willingly sought out darkness; either crazy or strong in heart, they may have came for different reasons, but they still braved the Heartless in coming here. Sora had went on to reassure her that that darkness was stilled (for now) and with it done, she was at ease enough to relieve her hold over the hilt of her blade and she even giggled at Donald's comment; so sure that Sora did indeed kick the Heartless' butts and could do so again. The hand which had held it fell loose to her side. Sora explained thereafter, that ohana really meant family. Stitch and Bonnie were either related or close in that respect.
Then came a sort of surprise: he could call Stitch here if Bonnie so wished. Terra knew a summon like that was entirely possible, but usually it had to be done through some conduit, like magicite for example. Even then the calling was not of a permanent sort. The remnants of Espers could be called in for aide, but they soon after would disperse after doing so. Terra wondered what sort of magic he held in addition to that keyblade . . . he called it a keyblade, she thought. ”What happens to the Heartless that are not released by a keyblade?” This was something she did not want to know, but nevertheless had to know; she did not bear a keyblade, after all.
Afterwards, he asked a simple question, that in fact had quite the complicated answer and for several seconds she looked down at her feet, gathering her thoughts together. She remained silent, hoping that Bonnie would field the question first. There were certain things she would rather forget than remember, however these were often the same as those that needed to be remembered at any cost. In those few moments she saw the Tower again, as it crumbled, as they all made for the airship. Shadow . . . she thought; he had stayed behind. Shaking her head she let the memory slip and then looked up again, pleading to Bonnie with her eyes to speak first. Otherwise, she feared she would be unable to respond at all. Knowing the Tower stood, she had been brought here when the darkness took her world and she had not left. That happened two years ago.
As the group had gathered together in District Two, a feather started to fall from the sky a few feet away from them. It seemed to shimmer with a glow of its own as it floated softly to the ground. However, before it hit the ground, it flashed with an incredibly bright light. As the light subsided, there appeared what looked like a glowing, winged figure, the wings curled around the body. As they unfurled and fade away into dissipating light, the group would see a woman down on one knee, resting her hands on her sword, which was held upright. She seemed to be praying as she opened her eyes and raised her head. She stood up and took her sword by the scabberd, looking around her surroundings. She took a sigh of relief, not detecting any darklings around. "Such a dreary-looking town... not of the Darkness, though, so there's something to be said about that." she said, mainly to herself.
She turned to the group and the group could see that she was a rather young looking woman, not unlike Terra. She seemed to glance and study each person in turn for a few seconds each. Two rather strange-looking creatures..., she thought, A young woman... both her and the duck have quite a lot of power. Her gaze then shifted to Sora... and she seemed to be surprised. Not just because of the Keyblade, which The Messiah had told her about, but the boy's Heart was on par with some of the greatest Paladins Anja knew. "For one so young, your soul is filled with a Light that outclasses my own. May I ask for your name, Keyblader? And of course, the names of your friends?" Anja waved her hand at the others who had gathered. She had not intended to ignore them, Sora's Heart had just taken her aback.
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,480px,true][atrb=cellpadding,3px,true][atrb=cellspacing,3px,true][bg=939d8f] I like to keep things honest
I'm a safe bet like your life's staked on it, for real
It wasn't long before what seemed like another castaway was attracted to the group.
"Thanks, Donald!" he smiled, looking down on his outfit himself; not looking too shabby. He kind of liked the color red, and even though he did miss his paldrons that made him look like Cloud, this outfit did suit him more as 'the boy in red' that people seemed to refer to him as if his reputation as Sora did not reach their ears. There was still some black in there too, and the color combination along with the combination of his old and last clothing seemed pretty cool! Enough about him though, and he laughed as he playfully shoved Donald lightly away with a tap on his shoulder. "You sure haven't changed, Donald. Don't ever change." he laughed.
Donald gave him a pat on the back, complimenting him, and he looked from him to Terra with a smile. "Donald and I used to travel around and stomping Heartless together." he explained to the powerful mage. "He's a pretty powerful sorcerer himself, and he's beaten a lot of Heartless, and both of us overcame a lot together!" he repaid the compliment back, patting the royal magician on the square of his back. And it was true, for he packed a punch with some pretty devastating and immensely powerful spells, and he was glad to have him there with his magic whenever he and Goofy needed to explore a new world. He wasn't surprised Mickey had been sending him on his own to worlds like Traverse Town; he had become a lot more vastly potent in his spells these past few years. "It's okay." he said as he showed everyone the keyblade, but it was equally also given to Donald to give the strangers the benefit of the doubt, rising to standing up once more so Terra could get a better look.
Trust created trust. Simple as that.
Her manner was strange in how she spoke, as if old-fashioned, but her intention met well. "And we're all well. Nice to meet you, too." he smiled, hanging his Kingdom Key in his hand back down to his side. Terra had a question for him though; one he had been thinking about for a long time, and about the mystery that still surrounded his celestial weapon. His keyblade used to send hearts from the Emblem Heartless that the Organization gathered to make Kingdom Hearts; at least, that's what he pieced together from Saix's words. But even though the Organization seemed to be returning, and he had seen the artificial Kingdom Hearts destroyed before he battled Xemnas, there was no reason to think releasing those hearts meant he was helping the Organization again. All those times he freed hearts in his first journey, he had reflected upon; and the hearts his friends released with their weapons he didn't find went anywhere different than his keyblade.
Thinking Terra was worried about where she was sending the hearts from the defeated Heartless, he smiled. "You know; I was thinking about that for a long time, too. At first, I wasn't sure... but me and Donald found the home world of the Heartless, that was made up of part of the hearts of the worlds the Heartless had stolen. When we defeated Ans... uh, Xehanort's Heartless, the hearts of the worlds were released and went back to how they were. I know, because my island was destroyed by the Heartless, and then it was restored when we beat the leader of the Heartless. So... I like to think all the hearts that we release go back to who they were before... and my keyblade is only different that it defeats the Heartless a bit easier, and for those that have lost their way to guide them back home." he mollified her subtlety, a warm expression on his features.
Although she did not answer his question at first, he didn't get to find out why she looked silently down at her feet as if something was wrong, as a newcomer came out of nowhere in a brilliant light.Sora had to shield his eyes a bit with his gloved hands, before he could kiss a young woman at the source of that light. "Heya. The town wouldn't be like that if all the Heartless hadn't chased everyone away." he felt he had to say, feeling a little disappointed the districts felt like a ghost town again. The stranger all eyed them for a moment, and he felt perhaps a mixture of flattery and intimidation as the woman complimented him, but then asked of his name and that of his friends. Sora could not help but feel apprehension at the statement, thinking that he meant all his friends including Goofy, Riku, Kairi and the rest, until he looked around him and realized she meant the people around him. "Uhhh... thanks, I guess. My name's Sora! This is one of my best friends, Donald, the court magician of Disney Castle. This girl is Terra, and the green one is named Bonnie. What's yours?" he asked, after politely introducing everyone at first. For one that had appeared in the light, she certainly was bold, but like everyone else he was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt as he beamed brightly at her.
Well his new threads might not have been as cool as his last, but at the very least they were pretty decent still. And Sora liked them, truly that’s all that really mattered, right? That Sora liked them? Of course it was. Sora was a great kid, becoming a strong man, and he should get what he liked and wanted. maybe within reason, but the kid had proved himself so much over the years. Defeating the leader of the Heartless, the leader of the Organization, and even going as far as to be called by Yen Sid to take the mark of Mastery. It filled Donald with a sense of pride for his friend, and as he felt Sora shove him lightly from his remark, Donald had to laugh his well known laugh that sounded half of quacking, half of laughing. He’d never change, never ever. He’d always be Donald duck! And Certainly not Dolan, but let’s not break the fourth wall with Donald yet, right?
Anyone else might have been humbled by Sora complimenting them, but Donald only felt more powerful and grand when he heard the compliments from Sora. True, he may have never been taught by the grand Yen Sid, but he had been taught by Merlin, and Merlin was still pretty darn powerful! His attention turned back as Terra thanked them for introducing themselves, and Donald found that just a we bit odd and off, His tension at the interest in the key blade was waned as Sora said it was okay, and Donald could do little more than listen. He did trust Sora, he was just always so weary since incidents with Riku, Jack, and others. The key blade was a powerful weapon indeed, and if it could fall into the wrong hands, well, that just made things more complicated. Donald Relaxed and let Sora show off the key blade.
Donald let Sora explain about his key blade and where the hearts go on his own though. That was a touchy subject, and Donald did have to let out a sigh before Sora began explaining. It was… touchy, ever since Xemnas had told them that they were creating an artificial Kingdom Hearts with the hearts released. They’d stopped him long ago, but what was to stop anyone from starting up again? Nothing really. Anyone could try it, as long as they found the means and the drive. It was a frightening thought, and as Sora explained it, Donald couldn’t help but find the memories returning. It had made them sour, and all the events that had happened in the past… They were lucky to still be sane, really.
Donald actually Welcomed the new woman who arrived in a blinding flash, Donald covering his eyes by holding up his arm and staff, expecting anything at this point really. He witnessed the woman and her speech, and damn her speech was odd, speaki8ng of the light in Sora’s heart. Well, he was a powerful key blade wielder, who had been turned into a Heartless, reunited with his Nobody, became a Keybade master… Yeah kinda expect one like Sora would have a powerful light in his heart. He beamed when Sora introduced Donald, and Donald stood proud. “The one and Only! he said soon after Sora introduced him. He had to certainly wonder what the woman had in mind and who she was, to have come in such a bright flash.
Sorcerer, Terra mouthed the word but did not speak it. And as strange as it was, she did not find it entirely foreign. Granted, she also did not need to be told: what Donald was (is), but Sora's confirmation gave justice where and when it was due. Donald had power and also – she noticed as she looked upon them both whilst they exchanged patting compliments – wit. Although, she could not fully understand what he was thinking, she knew well enough how strange this all seemed. The chances of three such as they meeting were slim; but the quick trust that formed between them, left much to be desired. It was right for him to be cautious and for a moment she too had to wonder why it was she that had been warped so easily into a zone of comfort, wherein she could just have easily turned and went away?
The key...no his key, she thought. What he calls the keyblade reflects what is within him: light. Not that she doubted that there were those key-bearers whom in fact resided in darkness and dealt in pain and cruelty, but she simply could not fathom someone of a more twisted disposition wielding a key so majestic.
When he rose, she too did so, and for several seconds just looked upon the sacred weapon; seeing first the golden wrist protectors at either side of its hilt and thereafter looking at the chain that dangled from the bottom – charm attached. A key that had a chain . . . she did not understand its purpose, but before she could ask, Sora began his explanation about the deaths of Heartless. Getting lost in his speech, she almost did not notice the feather that tumbled down from above. In fact, she did not until it was far too late.
The light flared and dazed her; instinctively she stepped back away from it, raising up and arm as she went and forgetting whom remained behind. If not for luck she very well could have bumped (or stepped on) Bonnie. Yet, as she came to through specks of black dots and a haze that crawled across her pupils, she saw the newcomer and also managed to remain steady on her feet. Still, she could not help but lower a hand towards the rapier at her side. This she barely noticed, for her mind went on in thought without her body.
It never occurred to me . . . that a key-bearer would be unaware of the consequences. A passing thought that faded just as quickly as her eyesight returned. For all she wanted to say and ask, by this display she was struck into silence. She should have been happy – or at least taken into solace by knowing that those hearts that were stolen were not lost (and that she had not extinguished them) – but she frowned instead. Sora had meant well, but believing and hoping were not the same as truth. What good did her powers serve if they only prolonged the suffering of beings that had their lives thieved away by darkness? Her gaze lowered to the street.
Perhaps it was good that another had taken the center of attention. Now, behind both Sora and Donald it would be easy enough to allow the topic to shift. And, well, it did. The armored lady concerned herself with Sora 'the keyblader' and bore with her a manner which suggested reverence and veiled surprise. With that came a revelation: she could see into the souls of others. Wherein Terra could sense magic – within herself and others – this holy warrior could see far more. Terra felt exposed, naked, and even shied away a bit when Sora introduced her. What would the maiden see if she looked deeper; a monster, a half-blood, destruction? Not so shockingly, Terra no longer wished she had sought out the Heartless.
It would have been better if she had not ventured from the First District that day . . . she met Anja's eyes briefly, but soon after looked beyond and off into the distance. With all those that had gathered, how could it be that the Heartless had not returned? They sought hearts and there were several prime ones here all close to each other. Do they fear us...too? She wondered, but would not voice her reservations, nor her worries. As silent as she was in this, her actions spoke loud enough. She could already feel the natural build up of energy within her in anticipation. Despite her protests, magic had gathered and for any that could in fact sense it, it would be as though they were struck by a spike in an otherwise consistent current. Restraint she had though, and had since learned. There were no physical manifestations, only the surging power blocked by a mental barrier. It would remain so, unless pressed.
