It was by random selection that Anti-Sora ended up in the tree covered world known as Deep Jungle. While the world sung of Light and agitated the shadow a bit, he could not help, but to feel intrigued at what he had walked into. Trees covered every inch of the place creating shadows on the ground as the sun played through the leaves. For a moment, the dancing shadows held the Heartless’s attention, then the fluttering of wings and the sounds of birds calling to each other drew the shadow’s attention away. From under the black cloak he wore, his golden color eyes caught the shadow of some strange bird that lived in the world, but from his vantage point he couldn’t kiss all the details of the creature, so he watched the bird’s shadow go by. Once the bird was out of view, Anti-Sora return his gaze to ground level as he looked around at the various plants and the occasional bug that would fly across his path.
As the Heartless stayed where he was observing the place, he found a slight smile forming on his face. He actually liked this place. It was pretty as it was, but he wondered how much more beautiful it would be shrouded in Darkness instead. The thought was pleasing to think on, so with a happy feeling filling him up, the shadow of Sora moved about the jungle taking in any and everything around him. He went from trees to open clearings with strange houses made of cloth set up everywhere. As he moved about the small cloth town taking in all the strange boxes and gadgets that had been left around, he easily found himself distracted by a strange ticking objects with two lines that moved ever so slowly from one number to the next.
Curious as to what it was, Anti-Sora reached out to touch, but froze as he heard something crash behind him.
“Hm?” he said as he looked behind him for the source of the problem. It wasn’t a human or any of the creatures that made their home in the jungle. Instead, it was a group of strange looking wild monkeys varying in color from blue and black to orange and black. Powerwilds and Bouncywilds…emblem Heartless and no threat to Anti-Sora. For a second, he simply watched the group of four arguing in their own way over some sort of food they had. The stronger Heartless assumed that it was this same piece of food that had caused the monkey like heartless to knock over the boxes they were behind and in turn created that sound had distracted him from the strange ticking gadget.
Anti-Sora’s observation lasted for a second and then becoming bored with the area, he moved on to explore the rest of the large place. And large it was indeed. From the campsite, Anti-Sora had moved back into the tree covered area to explore, but after an hour or so, the Heartless wished he hadn’t. Becoming very lost, Anti-Sora had found a rundown tree house that upon exploring the interior of the house led to the meeting with a strange cat with spots. The spotted cat was no Heartless and in turn had chased him everywhere before giving up on catching the shadow. By the time the cat had given up, Anti-Sora’s sense of direction was lost and he found himself wandering through endless passage of trees, trees, and more trees. He thought he had figured a way out when he found the watery area where the hippos were, but after escaping the area he found himself right back where he had started…lost.
Agitated, hot, thirsty and just plain miserable, the shadow continued to move around the place in daze. It was true he had brought himself here and that he could leave this place at will if he wanted to; however, the shadow saw this disorientation as a challenge that he had to conquer without the help of Corridors. After all, how else was he going to become better than Sora if a jungle like this beat him?
For you see, he knew Sora had been here. He could sense Sora’s trail that was faint within the confusing place. Some time ago, the boy he resembled had come through here and had survived without Corridors. There was no way, he would give up now and let that human beat him in an test of endurance. Refueled with stubbornness and determination, Anti-Sora pushed on until he finally found his way out of the tangled place and out into a new area where the sounds of a rushing waterfall could be heard, feeling triumphant, but mostly happy there was water nearby, Anti-Sora moved out into the area ignoring the few Heartless that cropped up at his arrival. He moved towards the sounds of the waterfall until he found the majestic beauty pouring from high up in the rocks down into a clear deep pool of water. Taking a moment to look at the waterfall and enjoy the nice spray the wind blew in, Anti-Sora took note of a rainbow and spent a good five minutes observing it trying to understand what made it before turning his attention to the water. Unlike the water where the hippos were, this water was clean and at least appeared to be drinkable. Not taking his chances, Anti-Sora drank only a little bit of the water, but it was enough to clear the fog clouding his head and cool down his body a bit. Kneeling by the pool, Anti-Sora took to looking at the fish under the clear water until he spotted a shadow looking at him from the under the water.
Anti-Sora blinked a bit confused. Those eyes did not belong to the familiar aquatic Heartless he knew so well nor did they belong to any normal Heartless. They eyes looked human and like himself the owner of said eyes appeared to be wearing a cloak. Still a bit confused, Anti-Sora tilted his head to the left and guess what? The shadow in the water copied his movement exactly! Having never encountered another doppelganger Heartless or his reflection for that matter, Anti-Sora remained in his spot kneeled by the pool trying his best understand the shadow in the water and why it liked to copy him so.

“What a backwater world.”
That was Vanitas’ comment after arriving in Deep Jungle and having traversed some of it’s great forests and jungles. Why he had ever decided to come here, he didn’t know. Sure, he’d opted on a bit of random exploring, but really? He couldn’t surmise why he came here, or anyone for that matter. It had felt like the world was… well, not lifeless, but without really strong hearts. The few strong hearts in this world kept moving, presumably strange animals in the trees. At least once, Vanitas had felt a strong heart of light, turning to find it, but could never find the strong source of light that seemed to exist in this world. But that wasn’t what drew him here.
No, amongst this light world there existed a darkness. He’d thought he found it when closing in on what appeared to be tents and tables, but it kept slipping away. He had traversed further, into what seemed to be some sort of Bamboo thicket, but even then, the darkness slipped away further. It was becoming annoying, and this jungle was getting to become almost maze like for a moment. Why oh why oh why had he elected to come to this backwater heat box of a world?
The sound of running water ahead was almost a relief for Vanitas. Letting his helmet fade and walking towards the sound of running water, Vanitas found his way towards a ledge overlooking a waterfall, quite a beautiful one at that. Well, beautiful, in the sense it was bathed in light. Much better it might have been in darkness, but that would come in time. Xehanort would see to all the worlds plunging into darkness eventually, including this one. He leapt and slide down a slope of dirt and rocks, coming to a stop by a pool of the water and letting his fingers wim in it for a moment. Crystal clear. Taking it to his mouth, he sipped it. Refreshing, for sure. The unmasked boy of darkness stretched and took a few more sips from his hand, splashing a bit of the water on his face to cool himself off as well.
It was only after doing this that he had finally noticed the darkness that seemed to twinge from nearby. It was strong, but dark. It had that distinct flavor that heartless had, a bitter taste and not one that Vanitas cared for. Still, this heartless was… stronger than others. Looking around, he noticed a few yards from him was a black shadowd cloak, following his reflection in the water. “Weirdo.” he mused to himself as he watched to see if the cloaked figure would notice him. |

(Hehehe. Couldn’t find a better way to keep him entertained XD.))
It was hard to hide yourself from a Heartless when you had a beating Heart and even harder still if you radiated Darkness. While Anti-Sora had been moving along the insane maze that had been the jungle, he thought he had sensed something Dark within the area; however, at the time he had noticed the presence he was too annoyed with the jungle to focus on it; however, he was not worried about losing the holder of that presence. After all, Darkness was typically drawn to Darkness and he was quite sure the holder of the Darkness would get annoyed with this maze as well, tired even and be drawn to what appeared to be the best water source in the area—the waterfall and its pool; however, for the time being the dark presence was out of the shadow’s mind as the he continued to figure out the shadow in the pool. No matter what he did, he could not escape the shadow nor could he command it stop copying him. Odd considering lower ranking Heartless always obeyed him. So he had simply stared at the shadow, trying to figure it out just what it was when unexpectedly the image was being ruined, becoming distorted and hard to see in the water.
It took a minute for Anti-Sora to understand that the shadow was not causing itself to appear this way, but the water itself. Something was moving the water and disrupting his study of the shadow. Who would dare?
Annoyed he could no longer contemplate the other shadow, Anti-Sora leaned away from the water and scanned the area already sensing the Dark presence that had been moving within in the jungle. It had moved within closer range and was in the area with him. Good, but not good enough to chase away the annoyance the shadow still felt. Anti-Sora didn’t hear the other’s words over the roar of the water fall as he moved his golden colored eyes to scan the area. Eventually, he found the source of Darkness and as his eyes landed on the form of a young man, his annoyance washed away and turn into shock…at first.
As the golden eyes took in the figure, he was reminded of Riku. The outfit certainly was similar to the boy’s dark form; however, this was not Riku. His eyes traveled up to take in the face still dripping with water. The shocked expression turned into a hostile frown as the shadow continued to examine the figures face. The face….it was just like Sora’s, the keyblader he despised…and yet those eyes the other had were not blue, but golden and as stated before Darkness flowed off of this one. Not annoying Light. What was this being before him?
The observation lasted for a second and then the shock and hostilty had passed and the Heartless watched the other with a calm gaze as he continued to figure out this being. This one didn’t seem to have any Light in it at all. An odd trait considering all beings, except Heartless and Nobodies, had a little of their opposite present within them. It was what made people and things change and fight themselves, but this one? This one was as dark as the pureblood shadows of his world and himself. On top of this, he did not sense a normal Heart beating inside of the being. It was almost as if this boy was only one half of a whole…and yet how could that be? How could someone have half a Heart and still be among the living? A mystery he would probably never find the answer to, so for the moment he left it alone as he tried to figure out what to do with this complicated piece of work. While he didn’t like the face, he didn’t exactly dislike the guy before him. No, this one definitely had enough positive things going for him to keep the Heartless from reacting aggressively towards him. So what to do?
“…Hello…Half Heart,” the shadow finally said in his strange broken English that held just a hint of Sora’s voice in it under all the hoarseness of vocal cords rarely used. He spoke loudly enough to be heard over the waterfall and the distance and once the words were out of his mouth he became silent again. He didn’t know what else to say to this strange being. He was still trying to figure the guy out! The only thing certain at the moment was that he did not want to eat the thing before him…and that was slightly odd considering he was the type of Heartless to feed off the Darkness in the Heart to ensure it stayed buried in the sweet substance. With this guy, he was very certain he didn’t have to worry about the half Heart escaping the Darkness anytime soon. It was like this Heart preferred to be in the Dark. Well now that was a strange little plus, wasn’t it?

Evil tastes the tears of fear! tearing down your helpless fate
The cloaked figure a few yards off seemed to finally take notice of Vanitas only after the boy had dipped a foot in the water to cause ripples. What was up with this cloaked figure? It radiated that special tasting darkness like a Heartness, but appeared human…oid. Well, it at least wore a cloak and had a humanoid shape. He caught the figure glancing to him, and all he caught of the features from this distance was the distinctive glow of Yellow. It matched his own glowing yellow eyes, but it seemed to also match closer to the glowing eyes of a heartless. Perhaps this was some sort of odd, unique heartless that existed within the worlds. He contemplated testing it against his own Unversed, seeing how strong they faired verse a Unique Heartless like such, and then paused.
There was something odd about this Heartless. Something… Familiar, yet not.
It seemed from this distance that the figure also seemed to pause and go through a cycle of emotions. He could taste the emotions like he could taste the darkness, beginning with the shock, then the questioning, and then hostility. This figure seemed to show emotions in the bucket load, but they were tainted with that taste of heartless. A bitter taste, and one that made Vanitas want to gag. He watched the figure straighten, the hunch, then straighten, and then cycle again through emotions. There wasn’t hunger, which was something he usually felt off heartless. Well, there was, but not the prevailing emotion that ruled the life of a heartless. In fact, curiosity seemed to prevail. How… odd.
The figure seemed to stare at him for a long while before it finally said something. The voice sounded similar to his own, but younger, and garbled. It was understood, but it sounded like it had been recorded as an echo and then put through distortion in editing. So odd, yet, if this thing was a Heartless as Vanitas was beginning to suspect, perhaps not completely stupid. Heartless never seemed to speak. Could they speak? Maybe they could. He’d seen a few make noises before that came from vocal chords, so who was to say a humanoid one couldn’t speak? But it’s words. “So you can sense, huh?” he said, moving a few steps closer to close the distance. He still wanted at least a few yards between them, just in case, but for now… perhaps this Heartless could be reasoned, and useful in his own plans, or even Master Xehanort’s. |

A moment of silence passed between the Heartless and strange boy before him that wore Sora’s face, but had only half a heart instead of a whole one. The pair observed each other lost in their own thoughts, trying to piece together the oddness of each other and how they did not fit any category either knew and could match the other with. Yes each was a special case, curious yet cautious of the other…waiting. Always waiting for the stranger to make the wrong move. Despite the cautious and tension between them, Anti-Sora was not afraid of this strange Dark being. No outside of curiosity, the shadow was quite happy that Darkness had found him. He needed allies to take out the Light and finally crush that keyblader he sought to replace; however, despite the pleasure of meeting another similar, and yet so different from his kind, he did understand that not all things Dark would work in his favor. Some sought to only use and toss things aside, while others had alliances to the other side of the fight. Anti-Sora did not mind being used, so to speak. After all Heartless came to a stronger one’s call and obeyed commands given even if in the end the battle was a losing one. He knew this truth for he had done, so once a while back when Riku had summoned him to fight Sora.
While he ended up tasting the bitterness of defeat, he had no plans of being on the receiving in of that again. He would flip the tables in time and have his world of Darkness; however, he could not do that if those around him only planned to stab him in the back later. So back to the problem before him. Where did this boy lie? Was he helpful or something to be smashed later? Interacting with the being was the only way to find out, right?
The thoughts went through Anti-Sora’s mind, but the emotions never appeared on his face as he watched the one before him intently, taking everything he did in one bit at a time. When the boy spoke and took a few steps forward, Anti-Sora mimicked the action taking one step less than the boy did to keep distance. He heard his question and tilted his head slightly. Sensing? What was that? He did not sense. It was more like he saw Hearts as they were. Is that what Half Heart was referring too?
“Sense?” the shadow repeated taking in the new word. “We…do not know sense…We see Hearts. Hearts…show all. Easy puzzles and treats. No Hearts, not so fun. Half Hearts odd. Why you Half Heart?” the shadow finished watching the boy carefully. The words flowed a bit easier, but did not stop the fact that the action of talking was a bit hard for the Heartless that was slowly learning….or the fact that what he had said may go over someone’s head; however, he suspected this one to be smart. Maybe he could understand his broken words and find the meaning within. Despite the language issue, the Heartless was curious and now that the boy had spoken instead of attacked, the creature wanted answers and to figure out just how useful this one could be…and maybe in turn how he could help the strange Dark being. It all depend on how this went.

Theme: Deep Jungle Tagged: Vani, Anti-Sora Comments:Coulda been better. Muse is running low.
The Shadowy cloaked figure of a heartless before him mimicked his moves as he took those few steps forward, stopping to keep enough distance that, should this meeting turn sour, either could have enough room to block an incoming attack. Still, if this thing was a heartless as Vanitas suspected by the taste of the heart, then he’d very much be in the advantage, being a keybearer. Even a keybearer of darkness could destroy the heartless easily. No matter the realm, the key blades seemed always to be damaging in the same ways. Soon the figure was tilting his head at Vanitas’ question, and he had to wonder if there was going to be a language barrier of sorts or something. He’d not gotten to speak with a Heartless before after all, so who was to say there wouldn’t be?
His suspicions were confirmed when the creature spoke. A Language barrier was there, but only for the Heartless to understand Vanitas. So, it seemed they saw hearts instead of just sensing them. Then they could see his half heart, beating within his chest. Could they maybe see the other half, despite the distance covered between them? Who could truly say. The Heartless went on further, explaining about how hearts were easy puzzles and treats. Puzzles? Puzzles and mysteries within the heart? Now this heartless was sounding like Xehanort. It went on to mention No hearts, and how they were not so fun. No Hearts, the Nobodies? The leftover, discarded shells of people? Intriguing. But then he said Half-hearts were odd. Odd? Had he encountered others like him before? That intrigued him, but Vanitas kept his face stoic as he watched the figure.
“Long story,” he said in response to the shadow’s question about why he was a half heart. “Needless to say it wasn’t by choice.” He added to clear some things up. It was a long story, and though he remembered all of it clear as day, he didn’t want to do anything more to deal with it if he could. “So you’re a Heartless obviously. Can all of you speak? As we are now?” He asked. He wanted to make sure this thing was going to be useful. He’d only known of one other speaking heartless, and that was the Heartless of Xehanort while inhabiting Terra’s body. He’d never met the Heartless personally, only heard his master mention him once or twice, but the idea intrigued him. |

(It’s not so bad. For a low muse it is quite good =).
Caution was between the pair, but curiosity was seeming to win out in the long run keeping the field rather pleasant instead of ugly…for the moment at least. Both holders of Darkness gauged each other’s usefulness to the other, curious as to how the other came to be when they were nothing like anything else in the worlds. A Half Heart of Darkness and a eater of Hearts…how interesting the pair would find each other. In any case, Anti-Sora had answered the strange Half Heart's question reading in his eyes that he understood in his own way what he spoke of. Good. No need to worry about that little barrier so much. They could communicate easy enough, but be allies? That was yet to be seen. While the Shadow of the Hero did not show it, he could sense a power from the Half Heart that reminded him of Riku and the original Sora….A keybearer of the Darkness. Surprising? No. Heartless were made of the Darkness itself. It always whispered about those who had fallen into Darkness wielding the powerful blades. The only thing was there were never names. Just whispers of this Heart or that Heart passing through or being consumed by the Dark. It was the way with all Hearts weak and strong. They all had stories to tell and dead, alive, old or young if Light or not, they all had passed through the Dark, leaving small traces of their stories behind.
It was this unique trait of the Heart that made it hard to hide what you truly wanted from Heartless. They knew for they saw the Heart as clearly as someone with sight saw a tree and from that Heart, they heard a song whispering secret desires that only the Heartless could hear. It was their ability and in turn Anti-Sora’s too, but unlike his weaker kin, he was much more careful on how to use that information he heard. He had the intelligence to think and plan and make use of those that trusted him….provided the Heart was whole that is. Half Heart before him was a bit more difficult to figure out, but he knew he sided absolutely with the Dark and in turn could probably find common ground with him, but enough of that. The Half Heart was speaking, answering his question.
A long story as to why he was a Half Heart? Anti-Sora liked stories, but it seemed that Half Heart wasn’t into telling them. He kept the answer short and simple. Not by choice huh? Anti-Sora smirked inwardly at this already knowing how that had happened. All it took was a powerful key and bye-bye whole Heart. He knew so for Sora had done himself to fee Kairi's and while he had been recovering from defeat, he sensed that cursed Light within his home. Too bad that little Princess helped him. He would’ve loved to keep that Heart forever! Despite the thoughts, Anti-Sora’s curious expression never changed as he continued to listen.
Now the Half Heart had questions of his own. Could Heartless speak? What sort of question was that? A slight frown appeared on Anti-Sora’s face as he looked down trying to understand what should’ve been common knowledge. Yes, Heartless talked. They all talked. Some too much in fact. He could understand them perfectly fine, so why was it Half Heart could not?....OH! That’s right. Only Heartless understood the Heartless language. Everyone else spoke a different tongue. That’s why Half Heart wanted to know. Well, he could answer that.
“Yes. I am Heartless,” he said answering the first question before moving on. “Heartless speak to Heartless. Always hear each other,” he said lifting a hand to where his ear was under the cloak as if he was listening for something for a moment and then he let his hand drop and continued. “You not hear because you no understand Heartless. You only understand common. Common spoke only by upper rank Heartless like self and Ansem. Little ones no speak common.”
A simple explanation made a bit difficult thanks to the new language, but the Heartless had no doubt Half Heart would understand him. He was smart.

Evil tastes the tears of fear! tearing down your helpless fate
Theme: Deep Jungle Tagged: Anti-Sora, Vanitas Comments:Again, pretty weak
Vanitas could probably relate to most heartless more than others could say. While he did not feed off hearts, he did feed off of emotions, and enjoyed the taste. He didn’t feed like most, but fed through his Unversed. Their tearful gazes filled him with the emotional turmoil of others, feasting in their jealousy, rage, and fear. He could sense these emotions off others, and more. Curiosity reigned between the pair, but so was caution deep down, emanating off the creature before him, but tainted. Heartless had emotions, but they tasted of the heartless.
He could sense the creature was curious about his long story, but it did not delve futher. Perhaps it understood that Vanitas kept it personal, for the most part. Only three people need know it. Himself, His other half, and Master Xehanort, the man who brought him into existence. Perhaps this shadow might one day learn of his tale, perhaps. But it did not delve further for now, and that, deep down, was all that mattered. ”I see…” he said when the Heartless spoke, explaining speech. He seemed to refer to himself as upper ranks, and referenced an Ansem. The Heartless of Xehanort, then? Perhaps this Shadow was useful if he was even remotely as powerful as Ansem. But how to use him. “Intirguing. And can you command heartless then, if you are higher rank?” he asked this for the simple reason of wishing to know if this thing could call reinforcements like himself. If he could, then a battle would prove interesting. If he couldn’t, but could command them if they were nearby, then even more interesting.

(Bah! Short. Sorry. >.<)
A slight pause to let the young man take it all in and then a simple phrase of understanding. Good, no need to make explaining harder than it already was. He liked a person quick on their feet, easy to communicate with and so on. Now that he thought about it, Half Heart was not so different. Sure, he didn’t have a whole Heart nor was he a Heartless; however, in the boy's eyes Anti-Sora could see his curiosity, but also power. He wasn’t sure exactly what it was the boy before him held control of, but like himself he sure it was something powerful. Maybe it could compliment his own power, hmm? But now was not the time for such a plan. Half Heart still had questions. He listened and let the words sink in. Again, he was a little annoyed that the boy did not know such common knowledge.
“You not know this? And yet, you strong Half Heart. You not encounter us before?” Anti-Sora asked and then gave him a second to answer before moving on.
“High rank, yes control and command little Heartless. Heartless obey stronger order. You stronger order, but not use us. You use something different, no? What it be?” he asked interested equally in the boy’s power. A keyblader he was equal to, but what else could he do and would that power be beneficial to him and his kind or a threat to be wiped out? Oh if only he could see what the boy was capable. Still, if Half Heart wasn’t going to attack neither would he. He heard another question and tilted his head, trying to figure out the best way to answer that. In reality, he did not have a true name. Just a tag associated with his nature and looks. Still, he supposed that name was better than any…even if he didn’t care for the one he was named after.
“I Anti-Sora. You is….?” he trailed off, gesturing for the boy to fill in the rest for him. His interest in the child never faded. Useful he could be if they could work together that is.

The being called half-heart was beginning to grate on him, and despite how well Vanitas had become at hiding his emotions, keeping them in check, and free from being shown, this particular annoyance was showing. His flat expression sowered, a corner of his lip falling at the shadow’s use of the term “Half-Heart”. His head lowered and his eyebrows tightened near the bridge of his nose. All very small signatures, but enough to show annoyance and anger at being called something sthat reminded him too well of his fate. Even being called strong by the shadow before him did little. Sure, being called strong may have boosted his Ego, but it didn’t counteract the annoyance.
“Not ones like you. Just the shadows. A few ones wearing some odd emblem,” He answered simply with mild annoyance before letting the shadow continue on. He explained, and Vanitas understood clearly enough. He didn’t really need the explanation beyond a yes, but the Heartless gave him an answer, explanation, and then another compliment and question. At the question of the Heartless, Vanitas closed his eyes and let his annoyance and anger at having been called half-heart this entire time slip out. The outward emotions physically manifested, two floods and a scrapper appeared. The scrapper appeared directly in front of Vanitas, while the floods appeared on either side. He reopened his eyes and looked at the Anti-Sora as the three lesser Unversed Danced before their master. Vanitas, and I’d prefer you use that name over the one you’ve been calling me. It kinda ticks me off.” he answered, glancing down to the Unversed.
“But you’re right, I am of a stronger order, but I do not use your heartless. I have no doubt though that I could probably control them, if I wished it, but I much prefer these guys. Unversed. Born and bred from emotional turmoil. Feeding of the emotions given by a heart, as opposed to a heart itself.” He smirked as he gave pride in his little trump card for most battles. “Don’t fear them. They obey me and only me. And so far you haven’t given me a reason to dispose of you.” Vanitas smirked a fangy grin, looking to the Anti-Sora. “Now that name of yours… I’ve heard a lot about kid named Sora going around. Some brat with too much bruhja. Safe to assume you don’t much care for him?” |

Anger, hate, jealousy... the emotions that Heartless latched onto first within a Heart not careful. They could use the negative emotions as a tool to sink the Heart into Darkness and seal the door of no return on the one that was weak or had no one to save them; however, Half Heart was different. Half Heart was already in the Dark and the annoyance and anger he was finally beginning to show on that calm face of his was directed towards Anti-Sora himself. Did this bother the Heartless? Not at all. He was use to these sorts of emotion and he understood clearly that not everyone was nice or emotionless. Besides, he expected something to give eventually between the two. They had been standing on needles since they met, waiting for an error from the other; however, it seemed Anti-Sora’s tolerance was a lot higher than the kid’s who was beginning to lose his patience despite the few compliments the Heartless unconsciously threw out. Then Half Heart was speaking.
Never met a Heartless like him? Of course not. He was one of a kind only outdone by the even more powerful human Heartless like Ansem; however, this one had not seemed to have met him either. Just the weaker ones with the Emblem.
“Man-made Emblem Heartless. Not worry about them,” Anti-Sora said with a wave of his hand as if he was dismissing something. The man that had become Ansem had a hand in making them and while they were not natural like the Purebloods, Anti still considered the creatures family. Besides, they listened so much better than the more free willed Purebloods, but that was a story for another time. Half Heart was doing something.
Instead of answering his question regarding what he controlled verbally, the boy closed his eyes and then the odd part happened. Remember that anger and annoyance from before? Well, the boy released it from himself and in turn it formed into strange shapes of bluish black coloration with red eyes that held different forms of emotion in them. They were cute and intriguing creatures. If it weren’t for them belong to the Half Heart and in turn potentially being dangerous, Anti-Sora might’ve let his curiosity get the best of him and tried to befriend the little creatures, but no. This time around he held his ground and simply observed from a safe distance.
Around the same time the creatures were formed, there was a rustling from the treetops above and the strange distinctive talk of the monkey like Heartless that lived in the area as leaves rained down upon the pair below. Before you knew it, two Powerwilds had dropped to either side of Anti-Sora watching the stranger creatures with caution and aggression as a third one—a Bouncywild— dropped onto Anti himself holding onto his back as she peeked over at the boy and his creatures with curious gold eyes. Unlike the other two, the female wasn’t aggressive at all just cautious and curious. It wasn’t a command from him that called the trio out, but more of a territorial issue that had went from safe to threatening as soon as the boy unleashed his creatures.
Despite the tension having risen, the trio did not attack staying calm thanks to Anti-Sora’s non-hostile response to the boy's summoning. They simply waited for a trigger to attack. In any case, Anti-Sora listened to what the Half Heart had to say.
So he preferred Vanitas over Half Heart because it made him angry and in turn caused him to call his strange creature? A silly little thing to be mad or attack over, but whatever. Anti would call him by his name if he preferred that. Besides, it was easier to say.
Anti-Sora simply nodded in response as the Bouncywild laid her head against his shoulder as she looked at the creatures a bit closer, still curious, but afraid to approach. Her kin just growled occasionally to make sure that the other creatures knew that this was their home and no one else. A bow to animalistic instinct, but what could one do? The jungle was a dangerous place and these particular Heartless had been here a long time and knew the rule of survival well. Regardless of the behavior, Anti ignored them knowing his presence alone was enough to keep them in check.
Anyway, Half—ah! Vanitas was talking again, so he listened.
The kid gave him a reasonable answer as to why he didn’t use the Heartless before explaining his little pets. Unversed that fed off negative emotions instead of the Heart itself? Now that was interesting. If the Heart was consumed by hate and anger, then these little creature would gather. Give that Heart a bit more time to cook in said emotions and then the darkness claimed them turning them into Heartless. Oh, what a perfect little compliment and interesting tool to use beside his own power. Yes…he could use this to his advantage and what was this? The boy gave him what would be consider a malicious grin by some, but to Anti a sign that the boy had come to a similar conclusion. His words earlier only confirmed the hunch, but then the pleasure was gone as the boy’s last words sunk in.
Now it was his turn to be angry, but it wasn’t subtle like Vanitas’s had been. No, the hate that flooded out of him was outright hostile.
“Care? No care at all. Want crush Light. Erase forever,” the Heartless growled back in such a way that for once the Powerwilds were not sure if they should be worried about Vanitas or Anti. The Bouncywild, on the other hand, just looked at him a bit concerned, but did not seem to disapprove or approve of the behavior. The point was they all understood just how ticked off the upper ranking Heartless was, but unlike him didn’t have the ability to express their hatred for most keybladers…especially those of Light.

The Heartless he spoke to, Anti-Sora, he spoke of Emblem Heartless. A simple name them, but he had no idea that what made them special was that they were man-made. So they were manufactured? How many? By what process? How did they come to exist? How did they continue to grow in strength and size? So many questions he had to wonder! The more he thought about it, the more that emblem seemed familiar too. Hadn’t he seen it in Radiant Garden before? Did that mean that was where this spawned? Everything from everywhere came from that one simple bright spark then, perhaps? So many questions! But he could tell the Heartless, while enjoying his questions, was getting just as annoyed as he had been. Something more than likely about Vanitas ignorance on Heartless. He’d encountered little more than Shadows before, Nothing like this one. Sure, he’d heard that that odd woman who had elected to fight alongside him at Disney Castle along with the others was a Heartless, but he’d seen little to give any indication of such.
Vanitas’ eyes had turned to the treetops above when he heard the rustling, instinctively he had dropped into a battle stance, his Unversed, doing the same. Without thinking, he only reacted. His arm had outstretched as his knees spread and he dropped lower, His hand gripped at air as a flash of light, modified by dark power, eminated from the fist that gripped around it. In a brilliant second, his Chaos Ripper had formed in his hands, the infamously recognizable key blade for anyone who had been able to witness any of the events those fourteen years ago.
Vanitas had been expecting and anticipating that heart of light he’d glanced around before, the weird jungle man. He’d expected the man to have finally come barging in to their talk and make a nuiscence, but he did not expect the three odd monkey things that dropped. They bore that same Emblem he’d seen on a few others, but they were different. One even wore a bow. Cute, except it was sickening. The other two seemed to hiss in agression, banging the ground to assert territory. So… it seemed the heartless did not enjoy the appearance of the Unversed.
And neither was the reverse.
Even as Vanitas he been fixing his fighting stance back to a relaxed, standing one, the Unversed beside him began twitching dancing around in their strange, hypnotic dance. They’d sensed their masters distress, but they’d also sensed the new creatures, and were ready to attack and defend. How intriguing. He’d only rarely seen his Unversed act on their own when not tethered to him. This was a new interesting revelation for sure, and one he had to smirk at. “Curious.” he muttered, bringing his eyes back to Anti-Sora and letting his key blade fade from view. “Parden my defensive stance. Instinctual maneuvers. Thought it was something else.” he said, hoping the display did one of two things. One, it might show to this shadow that Vanitas was more than he seemed even further, with the Heart of a Keybearer, even a dark one. Two, it might show that Vanitas was not afraid of the heartless, and didn’t consider them a threat still, yet.
But then he watched the heartless before him turn angry, and he was beginning to wonder if he’d prematurely dispatched his key blade. He raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms, leaning back a little and looking down to the Anti-sora from a raised chin. It wanted to crush light, destroy it… erase it. That, sounded… beautiful. “Then I do believe we have something in common, Anti-Sora.” he said, grinning a malicious grin. Perhaps this creature would be useful after all… |

The comment on Emblem Heartless, as simple as it was, seemed to spark, a great curiosity in the dark hearted boy named Vanitas. As he stood before Anti-Sora quiet for the moment, the Heartless could see the questions play out in his eyes. This amused the Heartless to a degree. The boy’s curiosity was as great as his and maybe he could help him learn a thing or two about Heartless along the way. After all he could easily trace where and who the Emblems came from. He knew their creator after all; however, the only question he could not answer was why Ansem had created them in the first place. What purpose had they served the strong Heartless was beyond Anti. He never really questioned why, but instead had been content to have even more family around. He supposed if he wanted to he could look further into this, but now was not the time. He could deal with those little questions when he did not have work to do.
In any case, the curiosity lasted only a few moments and then it was gone, Vanitas seeming to pick up on the annoyance Anti-Sora had for things he assumed a someone with a Heart similar to a keybearer’s should know. On that note, was this one even a keybearer at all? Sure, the Heart matched the strength and description of a keybearer’s Heart despite its shattered state, but the Heartless had seen no proof of this at all. Still despite this, he had already been sold with the appearance of the boy’s pet, so allies they could be, yes?
Hmmmm…almost a no actually. See what happened next could’ve turned everything very bad. Remember those Powerwilds and the Bouncywild from earlier? Well the boy noticed their arrival. A point for observation and alertness; however, the boy did not stop to think about what he was doing. Instead, he and his creatures reacted on instinct as they each took a battle stance and the boy confirmed he did have a keyblade. As the strange blade appeared, Anti-Sora narrowed his eyes at the threat, while the Powerwilds began to screech at each other and the other party, eager to tear them apart now as the Bouncywild only held on tighter to his shoulder as she tensed. The only one calm within all this aggression was Anti-Sora himself despite the threat. If the boy struck first, he would defend, but not a moment sooner or later. It was tempting to react on instinct as everyone else did, but the Heartless kept reminding himself this could be an ally, so he kept the urge to lash out in check.
“Be calm,” Anti-Sora told the noisy Powerwilds becoming annoyed by their shouting. The command was cold and final, a warning to both the Powerwilds and Vanitas alike. Almost instantly, the Powerwilds became quitter and simply glared at the intruders, not willing to disobey. The Bouncywild only relaxed slightly as she shifted slightly wrapping her tail around his left arm for support.
Despite the displeasure that all parties felt, Vanitas came back to his sense quickly enough and the battle stance began relaxing once more, even though his pets were still on edge. Still no one was attacking, so good…so far. Anti heard the boy say the word “curious”, but he was not quite sure what the boy was applying it to and quite frankly he wasn’t worried about it at the moment. What he was worried about was that keyblade. He wished the boy would put that cursed thing away already. There was only so much he could do to hold back his own hatred towards the blade and stay in control.
Thankfully, the boy granted his wish and even apologized for the incident and explain his action. An unnecessary thing to some, but much appreciated to this Heartless. There was Light within the area that could come and stop them already living within the area wasn’t it? Just because he had not seen the Light bearers did not mean he did not taste the Hearts here. Tasty, tempting Hearts being spared because he had something much more interesting holding his attention. Who knows what would’ve happened if things had been different? In any case, Anti-Sora simply nodded in response forgiving the slight misunderstanding between the two. After all, much better to know that blade was pointed at something else and not his kind. Two points for the boy. He was liking him better and better by the minute.
When his anger came at the mention of Sora, he officially dispersed the hostility the two parties had towards each other, drawing the attention to himself as each in their own way became more concerned about him than each other. A bit of an overreaction, maybe, but a valid one. Who wouldn’t get angry with someone that took so much credit for doing nothing, but ruining others plans, hmm? He ruins perfect plans and gets rewarded with love and smiles in return. While if it were any of the Heartless or a person of Darkness, they’d be greeted with hate and frowns all because they were different!! Stupid Light and the people that followed it. They all deserved to be in Darkness where they belonged. Not being blinded by silly Light. Inwardly, the Heartless sighed wondering why he had to deal with such stress over a simple matter at that. Oh well, he’d fix that soon enough.
And what was this? Anti-Sora calmed down a bit as he looked over at Vanitas looking down upon him with a questioning expression and then came the grin and the words that turned the Heartless’s sourness into pure delight. He returned the grin equally evil.
“If true, then ally Vanitas has with Heartless,” he responded back calmly despite the pleasure at this turn of events. Crushing the Light was always fun even if it was something that Heartless did by nature, but having someone crush the Light alongside of you? That was almost too much to ask for now a days, so it was always a wonderful treat when you could find someone to get along with and who could play the game with you….

Evil tastes the tears of fear! tearing down your helpless fate
Theme: L‘Eminenza Oscura Tagged: Vanitas, Anti-Sora Comments:Raid proposal to convert world to darkness?
The returned evil grin from the creature and being across from Vanitas solidified everything. A shared enemy, a common enjoyment for destruction and chaos. Was it the basis of an allied fore to take over? Perhaps. If anything, should Xehanort and his plans become far too convoluted or not work in Vanitas favor, it was something that at least meant he would be able to fall back on. Though, if Seaport did manage to get a hold of that heartless Ansem, then it would be difficult to entrust even the heartless controlled by Anti-sora to be loyal. If what Anti-sora had said was true, it meant that he himself might even follow the words of what clearly would be the stronger heartless. Hmm… that meant Ansem was the first target if things went out of Vanitas’ favor.
But enough plotting for variable in how Vanitas could do a hostile takeover. An alliance was formed, and at this Vanitas smiled. The Unversed beside him, as if acting on instinct, began to dance in a happy mode, then disappeared into mini-corridors of darkness, disappearing from view of the Heartless before him. Whether they went to another part of this world or another entirely was of no consequence, and it left only Vanitas, grinning like a mad man and with a twinkle in his eyes enough to signify all the evil thoughts he had processing. Many in fact revolved around this very world. Xehanort may have given Vanitas strict instructions to not draw too much attention to his Master’s plans, but that did not restrict the boy from having fun. So long as people believed the boy was without a Master, then that was all that mattered. And a perfect distraction formed in Vanitas mind. Those of light liked to preserve their light, protect it. Perhaps then, Vanitas could draw a few light warriors out to test this alliance now formed.
“Then it’s agreed, my heartless friend. Shall we commence make this official by crushing the light of this very world, and plunging it into the darkness of chaos and destruction?” There was no doubt in Vanitas’ mind that the smart heartless would understand what the boy meant. He meant to utilize the help and skill of this Heartless and his ploys alongside Vanitas’ own to find the heart of this world and convert it. They would blanket the world in darkness and bring forth it’s destruction. Simple, effectively. “And should anyone try and stop us, plunge their loser hearts into darkness as well?” he asked with, if possible, an even bigger grin and sadistic, twisted look in his eyes. It was a wonder the boy had not been swallowed by the darkness yet. Perhaps being born of heartless had that very advantage. |

((Proposal accepted.))
Unless one was completely blind, it did not take a genius to read the expression or thoughts going through the boy with the darker half of a heart. It was laid out clearly to the upper ranking Heartless that stood across from the strange being. He could read the boy weighing his options, wondering just how reliable he or his Heartless were. Disappointing? Not at all. In fact, he appreciated the concern and worry this alliance was causing the boy. After all, he and his kin could turn against the boy if a more powerful Heart came along or if a Heartless even more powerful than himself came about; however, there were very few Heartless in that category and at the moment not present at all. So for the moment the boy did not have to worry about their alliance being threatened.
In any case, the deal was sealed with a smile from the boy and twinkle in his eye that suggested that he was going to have just as much fun as Anti-Sora was with this new partnership. Granted, Anti-Sora was probably nowhere near as powerful as the dark keybearer, but his determination and aggression on the field made up for a lack the power he had yet to gain back. In any case, the alliance meant he wasn’t going to be alone on the field...meaning he had a person that he could play off of in battle, making the shadow’s tactics that much more dangerous to those unprepared. This would be fun. Much more fun than he anticipated. As if sensing the malicious joy between the two dark beings, the Unversed seemed to dance in happiness before disappearing into their corridors. The Powerwilds followed suit as they did a backflip before vanishing into their darkness completely. Only the Bouncywild remained on Anti-Sora’s back relaxed and waiting for something as she listened, eying the dark boy with favor instead of caution.
Then the boy was speaking, asking the Heartless for aid in plunging this world into darkness and sealing his alliance with them. As if the boy needed to ask. In response, Anti-Sora looked at the Bouncywild on his back.
“Disrupt balance,” he said to her with a smile. Understanding the simple command, the Bouncywild jumped off his shoulder and climbed up a tree letting out a strange call as she moved away from the pair. In response to her call, other Heartless whispered back their replies. Content with the chaos about to unfold, Anti-Sora’s eyes locked on Vantias once more, the malicious smile never leaving despite the crazed look on the boy's face.
“Let’s play then,” he said, knowing that the boy would understand the strange answer. Yes, let's play indeed. Let's see just how powerful this half hearted dark keyblader really was.
