(OOC: Just a quick author's note. This is Tidus's thread, and he's taking charge of it following this intro post I decided to write up for consideration of the opening ceremonies and other formal stuff like that. Seymour's just a spectator in this thread, so I won't be adding much in with him. Mkay that's all, LET THE GAMES BEGIN) The air was crisp on this warm, sunny day, and every swift breeze that swept through the salty atmosphere surrounding the docks of Luca, was welcomed with bright smiles and cheerful demeanors. Today was a big day in Luca, and that much could be witnessed by the thousands upon thousands of people who flocked through the streets, and the many who filled the docks as many ships had continued to arrive from all over Spira. The sounds of flags billowing in the wind, waves crashing upon the shores, and gulls crying as they made flight filled the air everywhere, and the sun shone brightly above. There was a very positive vibe filling the city, and it could only be replicated by two events in the history of the world; The first being the last large tournament in Luca, where unfortunately many fiends had arrived to terrorize the spectators and participants. Many people remembered the last tournament in Luca before the lengthy off season, however with the popular game known as Sphere Break, the time passed had been spent with little boredom. Though it was not enough to contain the desire that blitzball players continued to find themselves filled to the brim with. The second event in history to even be compared to the current festive nature of Luca, was over a thousand years past, within the machina city of Zanarkand. Many of the writers, commentators and spectators had already started to comment on the scale this tournament was growing to be, as not only was there the excitement of the blitz tournament to look forward to, but it had also been promised that the Grand Maester of Yevon Primus was to be among the attendees. This created a lot of buzz from the people, as they had been looking forward to the peace rally the Maester was said to be leading, and with the absence of Sin in the world, many were certain that a true Eternal Calm was sure to begin this day.
The waves of the sea were calm, yet despite this, Seymour found that the ship upon which he traveled had its deck soaked continuously. The grand flagship of Yevon Primus was much like the one he had boarded with Yo Mika many years prior, yet unlike the crimson sails that adorned the former Grand Maester’s ship; the one that cut through the waters on this day flew sails of white and blue. Many officials from Yevon Primus were aboard the vessel, as well as the recently formed Bevelle Breakers, a blitz team that had come together over the last four months prior to Seymour’s revival. The team itself was composed of various former Crusaders, yet among their ranks there were a few followers of Yevon who wanted to change their outlook on life. The team seemed well versed with each other, as from Seymour had been able to tell upon this boat trip to Luca, they had been practicing very hard. All of that practice would surely be needed if they hoped to get past the first round, as well as take down the Luca Goers, and the Besaid Aurochs. Their uniforms were composed of a dark shade of blue, with gold and crimson trimmings around their pads and armor, which greatly reflected the Aeon of their hometown. The team had been known to pray to Bahamut for victory, as they believed the powerful entity to be guiding their progress, and would hopefully grant them the Crystal Cup. Though despite being from Bevelle, the team found itself hard pressed to impress the Grand Maester, as they anticipated him to be rooting for the Guado Glories, whom were also aboard the ship.
The Grand Maester had spent most of the time in one of the many cabins provided, only bothering to venture out on deck whenever the confinement began to bore him. The wheels of the colossal machine were turning with great force, and with this blitz tournament to go along as planned, the people of Spira would know true peace. They would no longer be burdened by the needless bickering of different factions vying for power and influence over the people, no, they would understand what a Calm was supposed to be like. Like the many that had come before this one, the people would be able to embrace the Calm, and live in undisturbed peace like they wanted. No doubt after this festive event had transpired, the many flocks of sheep would return to their respective fields in the world, simply to graze upon the grass that was their contentment. They would let their guards down, and return to their simple existences, with the knowledge that Yevon Primus would keep them safe from the Heartless. While the dark beings had been known to be attracted toward the more northern parts of the continent, Seymour had assured everyone that the Stadium, as well as the entirety of Luca would be safeguarded from any threats. This day of peace would prosper, and Seymour remained certain that the Heartless would not disrupt it; he had taken every precaution within his power to reinforce this statement.
While the waves continued to break upon the bow of the ship, Seymour watched on from the upper level, his icy blue gaze focused upon the faint structures of Luca slowly growing in size upon their arrival. It was possible that the docks were already buzzing due to the sighting of the Grand Maester’s ship a few miles off shore, yet it was assured that every dock was flourishing with life and activity. The first matches were to start upon the arrival of the Yevon officials, and with only two of the teams yet to arrive, many of the organizers in Luca had already announced the beginning of the seed lottery, which would determine the matches for the coming competition. Among those Yevon officials already in Luca was a young man, and former praetor of New Yevon, Baralai, who had been asked by a clergymen to oversee the lottery as a favor to Maester Seymour. The youthful former member of the Crimson Squad accepted the offer with little hesitation, hoping to gain more respect among his peers, pay respect to the late Maester Mika, and be granted permission to return to the temples, no longer ex-communicated. No one knew that the Meyvn of the Youth League had suddenly gone missing, and yet Baralai was surprisingly among these numbers. Many people assumed that the Youth League was now doing what the Machine Faction had done since the crisis in the temples, and had only been laying low to keep their operations to themselves. The days following the Grand Maester’s speech had also forced relocation upon the occupants of Djose Temple, as many Yevonites had arrived by way of Mushroom Rock Road in order to reclaim a place deemed sacred in their eyes.
Soon the ship carrying Spira’s messiah had come into dock, and once the crew aboard had fastened ropes securely to the hook cliffs upon the sides of the ship, a ramp was set up to the ship. Within moments many loyal people of Yevon Primus had laid out a carpet, and had a welcoming party complete with a band set up. A melodic tune was played as many of the officials had begun to get off the ship, followed by the Bevelle Breakers and the Guado Glories in respective order. There was quite the crowd gathering upon Dock 4 to greet the Grand Maester, and Seymour could see the many hopeful faces of the people as he departed from the second level of the ship. Once down the stairs and to the head of the ramp, Seymour waved his arms before him to make the Prayer of Yevon with a respectful bow to the on looking crowd. A smile crept upon his face as he descended the wooden incline, and acknowledged every approaching official with a dismissive wave. While many of the Yevonites seemed shocked to have been interrupted in their hellos to the Grand Maester, each standing aside to let the Guado pass, many people began to clap as Seymour strode forward to stand before the crowd. “Today is a joyous day, as that much can be evidenced by the weather and every face in this crowd. It pleases me to join you all here on this fine afternoon, to take part in the festive nature of yet another esteemed and competitive blitzball tournament.” The speech to the people brought about much applause from the crowd, which was met with a smile upon Seymour’s part. The Grand Maester was then escorted from Dock 4 to Luca Stadium, where a luxury lounge for important guests had been set up. As he made his way from the docks to the site of the games, Seymour could hear the commentators already beginning the introduction ceremonies for everyone watching on the Sphere Network.
“Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the opening tournament of the season!”
“That’s right Bobba, we’ve got some great blitzball action today!”
It will be history in the making Jimma, as not only are we going to witness the largest tournament in Luca’s history, but a new team is making it’s debut today as well!”
“I can’t wait for this. After many years of speculating whether or not it could be possible, Bevelle has finally managed to get a team together. Since this will be their first outing in real competition , it’s certainly hard to gauge their skill.”
“The best of luck to that team, Jimma. Moving along, at Dock Number two its…”
The luxury box was fit for royalty, as it was fitted with a soft carpet of a lightly hued aqua, which greatly reflected the massive Blitz Sphere viewable from the retractable glass windows that made up the majority of the far wall. The entirety of the stadium could be seen from here, as a perfect view of the game would be accessible, and it was also where the desk for the commentators of the tournament had been set up. Upon his entry into this esteemed room, which appeared to possess every possible type of condiment and nourishment one could ask for, Seymour took note of the numerous tournament officials who had gathered inside. As they noticed the Grand Maester, they all turned to respectively make the Prayer of Yevon to the Leader of the Guado, moving just enough so that the blue eyed Unsent could glimpse the revolving cylinder used for the draft lottery, attached to a handle used to turn and tumble the spheres inside. Among the group that had congregated in this box included many Yevon clergymen, stadium staff, tournament officials, one or two referees, and Baralai. Once they had made their respects to him, Seymour returned the favor and gave a solemn nod. “I believe all the participating teams are now here, as both the Bevelle and Guado squads arrived upon my ship not too long ago,” stated the Unsent to the tournament officials, who then took their time in going over the last few check ups on their lists. Baralai nodded to Seymour, then looked to the nearest official with a stern expression.
“You can each go to collect the captains of the teams now. If you would be so kind as to escort them all back here, I see no trouble why we cannot do the drawing in here.” Once the request was given, many of the tournament officials began to exit the room, shortly followed by Seymour and the Clergymen. Within a few minutes many of the officials were out on the docks, looking for the different teams in hopes to find their respective captains. Meanwhile Seymour and his party of Yevonites had journeyed to the VIP box, where the Leader of the Guado had been blessed to be able to be a spectator at the last tournament. This had also been the exact spot where he had summoned Anima to dispose of the fiends he had summoned, yet as Seymour took ease upon his well cushioned seat, he remained aware of the fact that such a ruse could not be accomplished this time around. There were many people who remained speculative of this event, and though while most sought to enjoy it, there were few who only saw it as another stage for another fiend attack. Despite these rumors that tried their best to spread themselves, most people only cared about the excess amount of blitzball they were about to enjoy, and so sought optimism where these conspiracies were brought up. As he fingers caressed the gold armrests upon the chair he now sat in, Seymour looked forward to the massive sphere of water, and silently observed the serene features of the aqua. It held a sway about its form, much like the eerie surfaces of the Farplane gates in Guadosalam. The wait would be plentiful, as many people were still rustling about the Stadium, and had yet to see their way to their seats.
The games were soon to begin, and anything could happen.

An otherworld awaits you
[/div][/sub]
It was a mostly sunny day for a blitzball tournament in Spira; the last of the cold weather's early morning showers came, leaving fresh morning dewdrops on the city of Luca and it's plant life, sunny with slightly overcast clouds. The crowds were gathering and taking their seats in the massive arena, colorful decorations and team colors everywhere, people holding hands cheerfully with family and friends while eating vending food as if the worries of Sin and Vengagun were just a faded memory. People of all walks of life were filing into the area, not just the races of Spira such as the Ronsos, the Guado and the Al Bhed, but here and there the odd discrete traveler from another world maintaining the world order could be invited to take a ticket at the gate as well. All the team captains had been summoned to the Luca docks surrounding the stadium, and as one of them, Tidus was hoping to look forward to captaining the Besaid Aurochs again. However, it looked like things had changed the last time he was in Spira, as Tidus was facing off against someone from his girlfriend Yuna's past.
"No way. You slacker, there's no room for lazy excuses like you to captain the team I trained so hard. I'm the captain now." Becklem stated, the representative of the Youth League who had been sent to Besaid Island, and had now taken over the team in Tidus' absense. The Besaid Aurochs behind him rubbed their heads sheepishly, none of them able to look Tidus in the eye, except when they snuck the odd glance out of either reverence for their former star player or shame. "Okay, okay, fine. Good luck with the games, then, and if we meet on the field then we won't go easy on you!" Tidus exclaimed, pumping his fist in front of him as is usual confident salute. "Hmph. You and what team? You've only got a short amount of time to even qualify; you'll never make it. Trust someone like you to be lost in memories and dreams of the past to not see what's happening right now." Becklem coldly ordered, turning around. The Besaid Aurochs followed him, without a further glance to Tidus, to the players-only section for registering.
(He was right. I had no team; the Zanarkand Abes were now no more being just a dream of Sin, and I'm the only existing one left. Unless... and then a idea came to me. It was a long shot, sure... but hopefully some people heard the word I spread around about Seymour, and had come to help. Maybe they could help and play blitzball... by joining the one and only legendary Zanarkand Abes. The team could be formed again, with me as captain... it was the only way to stay legitimately in the games to see what scheme Seymour was up to.) Tidus thought in internal monologue to himself, as he starting to look around and scout for players on his empty pier, hoping powerful and uniquely skilled players would be drawn by the visitor's entrance nearby.
It was his only hope. He picked up his trademark yellow and black megaphone, and clambered up atop some crates to get as much attention as possible. "Sign up here to become one of the legendary team members of the Zanarkand Abes! Are you tired of the Yevon Primus oppression? Tired of being seen as no-one important? Want to show this world just what you're capable of against all odds and a amazing co-operative team by your side? Come and join me, Tidus, star of the Zanakand Abes! We'll take you to the finals and beyond, because what's our goal? Victory!" As people started crowding around to listen in interest what he had to say, even if he had the odd person make a negative expression and/or turn away, he began to notice a few individual people stand out from the crowd. After making a few changes, he placed down and pointed to a sign-up sheet on the table, where the top of the sheet with the name and insignia of the Zanarkand Abes was emblazoned above the words 'SIGN UP: add signature below'.
Tournament theme: Otherworld
-----
Rules: Tidus needs five more people to join the Zanarkand Abes. If you want to join Tidus's team, just fill out the self-descriptive application below:
Position: Your position you'll be taking on the field. There are five other positions: Left Forward, Right Forward, Middle Forward, Left Defense, Right Defense, and Goalie. Tidus already has the position of Left Forward, and if not all positions are taken, then they will be filled with NPCs. Only one character per member per sign up. Abilities: Pick four abilities from your character's powers; two offensive for attacking a player with a ball, and two for shooting the ball. With attacking a player with the ball, pick an power which only hits once. For shooting, pick a power that hits more than once, but if it hits more than four times, then it will only strike three targets maximum before kicking the goal. If you don't have any powers that hit more than once, your shooting powers will only be able to knock out one opponent in addition to shooting the goal (see Shooting below). If these powers happen to have special effects, Tidus will post up with your stat results what your powers will do, or how many times it will knock out opponents if it's a Shooting Power. Random Stat One: This will determine one of your stats. Count how many of your powers you have and put the number here. Random Stat Two: This will determine one of your stats. Number of the day of the month you were born. If it is below 5, then the day it says on your View Profile when you registered your account. Random Stat Three: This will determine one of your stats. Count number of letters before the @ in your e-mail address, then put it here. Random Stat Four: This will determine one of your stats. The number of the day you registered on the site. If its below 5, the number of the day of the month you were born. It is' 20 or higher, then minus (take away) 10 from that number. Random Stat Five: This will determine one of your stats. Pick one of these three characters: Sora, Riku, or Kairi. Tidus will determine this stat for you depending on your answer.
Position: Abilities: [Attacking power number one; attacking power number two; shooting power number one; shooting power number two.] Random Stat One: <read description above and place answer here> Random Stat Two: <read description above and place answer here> Random Stat Three: <read description above and place answer here> Random Stat Four: <read description above and place answer here> Random Stat Five: <read description above and place answer here>
Post this template above your roleplaying post, so Tidus knows you are signing on to play for the team. If you want to watch the match and post in the roleplay, you can post and not sign-up with the template (but if demand becomes too much, then Tidus will post a link to a seperate thread). In Tidus' next post, he will post up each player's stats and powers, along with who is in what team if the demand exceeds as well.
- The match will go for five rounds/turns. Every turn, the ball will be launched into the blitzball arena, and the Zanarkand Abes will always grab the ball first in the first round (Tidus will describe who the ball is given to). In the next round, whoever scores a goal, the opposing team will get the ball.
- Whoever has the ball will make an attempt to go for the goal. Every round, that member will always have an encounter, with one or more people from the opposite team. Any amount of players can join the encounter, but the more the team is focused on one point of the field, the weaker the defenses are on other parts of the field for the opposing team to throw the ball and get through. Everyone will get an encounter if they do not participate in a previous encounter, taking turns to be involved in different encounters on the field, so if you chose not to be in a encounter you will have the option to be involved in the next one.
- In a encounter, the player with the ball has two options, and can only either do tackling or passing.
Tackling: The player can choose to tackle, and must select one of their attacking powers to do so. When you do so, that power's cooldown will be added to your [AT (Attack) stat (which Tidus will provide for you in his initial post to notify everyone of their stats). This number will then be taken away from that player's EN (Endurance) stat. If you (or you and any teammates involved) manage to deplete that player's EN stat, then the last person that reduced the stat to 0 (zero) will remove that player from the encounter. If there are no other players who chose not to tackle you or your teammates, the player with the ball can break through the defenses and go for the next encounter. If there are opponents that chose not to tackle you, then you will have to pass the ball (see below). The players you have tackled keep their EN stat lowered for that amount until a goal is scored.
Passing: If the player with the ball decides to throw the ball (or there are people who chose not to tackle you in the example above), then the PA (Passing) stat will be played against the remaining opposing team's combined BL (Block) stats (which Tidus will provide for you in his initial post to notify everyone of their stats). After the player with the ball states in their post clearly who to pass to, whoever attempts to block the ball will take away with their BL stat from the PA stat, and if the combined BL (Block) stat of the opposing team is larger then the player who reduced their stat to 0 (zero) keeps the ball. If the opposing team blocking the ball has a lower combined BL stat, the ball passes through (and sometimes will even miss a NPC player based on Tidus' decision) and whoever the player with the ball decided to clearly pass it to then that player will catch the ball. The player's PA will remain the same amount until someone scores a goal.
Players without the ball also have two options, either tackling, or blocking.
- Tackling: The player can chose one of their Attacking Powers, and add it's cooldown number to their AT (Attack) stat (which Tidus will provide for you in his initial post to notify everyone of their stats). This number will then be taken away from that player with the balls EN (Endurance) stat. If the EN stat of the player with the ball fails to be reduced to 0, then the player keeps the ball, but also keeps their EN stat lowered for that amount until a goal is scored. If you (or you and any teammates involved) manage to deplete that player's EN stat, then the last person that reduced the stat to 0 (zero) will steal the ball from that player.
- Blocking: If you chose not to tackle the player with the ball, and the player with the ball either endures any tackles made to him in attempting to pass it or passes it without anyone tackling them, then your BL (Block) stat combined with your team mates will take away the PA (Passing) of the opponent with the ball. If the opponent's PA is completely reduced to 0 (zero) then the last player who's stat reduced the ball to 0 then catches the ball. If the combined BL stats of your team does not reduce the ball player's PA stat though, then they will succesfully pass to whomever Tidus designated they were passing to on the team.
- This is what will happen after every encounter, and once the encounter is finished (when it comes around to Tidus' turn and he shows the workings of what happened) then the player with the ball will move and the next encounter happens. Every second round will be an attempt on the goal, with the fifth round being an exception as a extra innings for the winning team with the most points so far to make a goal. If both teams are tied one on one, then whoever scored the goal last will have the chance to kick the goal, but if that team misses the opposing team gets an attempt to score a goal in a additional round until a team scores a goal.
Shooting: During a round where it's designated as a shot for the goal. the rules are the same as a normal encounter, except that for the person with the ball the option to do Tackling is replaced by Shooting. Shooting is just like passing, and the player can select a Shooting power, and that power's cooldown will add to the players SH (Shooting) stat (which Tidus will provide for you in his initial post to notify everyone of their stats). If there are any special effects, Tidus will state what they are in his inital post of your stats before the game, as some of these will remove opposing team members from blocking with their BL stat. Your SH stat will go against any defending player(s) combined BL stat plus the goalie's CA (Catching) stat. If the opposing team's BL plus CA stat reduces your SH stat to 0 (zero), then the last member who did as such will catch the ball (or sometimes Tidus will decide if they fumbled the ball, so someone else on your team can catch it and take a shot, in the event your SH stat is reduced to 0 as a 'second chance' and so your team mates can catch and attempt to shoot). If your SH is higher than the opposing team's BL plus CA stat, then congratulations, you've scored a goal for your team and your team will earn one point.
- Passing: If you decide to pass to another player instead, then it's the same as the Passing rule above if you're the player who has the ball, with the exception that if you are successful passing to a player of your choice, that person can shoot for a free goal because the opposing team was too busy trying to block/catch your pass.
- The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.
Sign-up end date: 31st of May, 2012 (Additional players and teams will be added if positions exceed the demand!)
If you have any questions and aren't sure how to go about the game after reading the above, please PM Tidus on Vincent's account (since he's on it more as staff) or ask me in the c-box when I'm in there. ^__^ Have fun guys!)

When one is a four legged lion, it becomes awkward to get around anywhere. When one is a talking lion, it becomes even harder to get around anywhere in the stars. Simba had already managed to bumble and tumble his way through so many new worlds and sights. Some he remembered, but others he had never seen. What memories he had were of his time as a Spirit in the void, summoned by Sora to help him in his fight. What new worlds he was seeing though, and what trouble he’d stirred in them as well. Scaring people by growling as a Lion was one thing, but save for that one place… Cosmo Canyon was it…? He’d never quite been accepted anywhere else. It was becoming mildly annoying, especially with recent things he had begun to hear an understand. The stars in the Night sky, the stars that formed the great Kings, were apparently other worlds. Did that mean that the great Kings did not die, but lived on in the stars? What Kings were reborn elsewhere then? And what’s more… why was Simba being thrown into them?!
Arriving in the newest world was Simba within Spira. That was the name, yes? Spira. Such an odd name. He couldn’t recall hearing it, but it was apparently a world he fell within. Once more people had treated him oddly, but at least here they did not seem so… aggressive. It might have helped that Simba had found a temporary friend in a large blue lion-like man with a horn. He’d never caught his name, but walking beside him, Simba was able to at least move now. He’d followed him as far as a large city, to a gathering crowd outside of a stadium of some sort. That was the word right? Stadium? So many new words to hear and try and understand. Stay-dee-uhm. Stadium, yes. That sounded… well, weird, but so was everything he was learning.
That’s when he saw the blue lion-like man going further into the crowd as a blonde boy suddenly began screaming into a megaphone about signing up for some… Blitz ball ? Zanarkand Abes? Simba… he didn’t really try to understand it… but he had discovered alongside that red Lion Nanaki that balls were fun to chase and play with. The word Tournament was a little weird though, and he didn’t quite catch the meaning. It felt familiar though. Had Sora ever used the term around Simba?
“I’ll join,” Simba said, speaking up. Yep, here it was, the gasps and gawks at a speaking Lion. Well, at least this time there were laughs too. Laughs at what? Was it abnormal for an animal to play a game? “I just… need a person to write for me.” Simba said, coming forward and looking to Tidus. “Simba, King of the Pridelands.”

His feet constantly in motion as he flitted from building to building curiously looking in to see what they had to offer. "Vivi! Look at this!" Behind the young tailed boy was a much smaller figure with a floppy brown hat on top of his head as the thief turned to show the mage a small stuffed toy in the shape of a cactuar.
At first, this little side trip had been meant to locate all of their lost friends but as their search was becoming less and less successful, Zidane had taken it upon himself to brighten the bleak truth of their friends not being here by making the trip... a bit more fun! So it had turned into more of an adventure than a disappointing search.
Hoards of crowds shuffling into a nearby building caught the corner of the thief's eye. Something was going on over there and it had to be good with all the people gathering around. "Oh, let's go check that out!" Without any further warning Zidane took off into the crowd slinking his way through the masses and finally entering the stadium. He had arrived just in time to see a young man tower slightly above the crowds as he began to speak. He stopped to listen as he began rambling on about things that to him were like a foreign language. Yevon Primus? But from what he could gather, he needed a team and quick! Unsure of what the sport really was, the thief was always up for a challenge! Any tournament had his name written all over it.
"Let's sign up!"
He stepped forward and looked up to the speaker. "I'll join your t---.... Hey... Don't I know you?" The memory was fuzzy but... he definitely knew this guy... just... from where?! He wracked his brain in search for any trace of the memory but all he could come up with were faint flashbacks and a name. "Tidus? Tidus is that you?" If it wasn't him, then he would feel awfully silly for saying anything...

Vivi followed Zidane through the busy streets as they flowed. No matter what Zidane might say they were here for, Vivi knew first and foremost they were here to find Garnet, if she were here. This knowlegde helped Vivi ignore the odd stares he would get as he followed Zidane through the hustle and bustle of the docks, the impressive ships, the people who looked like some form of athletes... The whole spectacle was pretty interesting, though. The town seemed to be getting ready for a big event.
Zidane began darting from shop to shop, weaving between people. The little mage knew that it wasn't Zidane's nature to be melancholy for very long. It actually made him really glad. It was like the energy was contagious even though Vivi knew his friend well enough to know that Zidane might not be feeling as happy as he was letting on. The little mage tilted his head back and looked up at the buildings and the bright sky with wonder.
This city was different from any other he'd been in... it was pretty cool. This world also seemed to have a few different races on it, unlike Twilight Town. Vivi hadn't seen anything but humans in Twilight town, but already here he'd seen blue lion type things walking around with horns on their head. He wondered if they were some sort of summoners... Blue hair and horns and really brave... that kind of sounded like Eiko...
Vivi was snapped out of his reverie when Zidane presented him with a Cactaur plushie. The littlest mage's eyes lit up. He looked up at the other plushies and noticed that several were similar to creatures they had back home. Moogles, Cactaur... Vivi's heart dropped to his shoes as he spotted one particular plushie. It had big yellow eyes, a reptilian face and was wearing a monk's robe, carrying a little felt lantern. His eye twitched and he backed away from the stand to follow Zidane towards the crowd of people, all too happy to leave that plushie far behind him. It had felt like the thing would jump out at him at any moment.
Zidane was looking up at a young man with blond spiky hair and blue eyes who was talking about some sort of game. Also some things that Vivi didn't understand, but this was not uncommon for Vivi, so it didn't bother him too much. Zidane got really excited about joining the game. The littlest mage couldn't help but get a little excited too. It didn't seem like this was a Struggle tournament, so he might actually be able to play at this one without brutes like Seifer and Hayner knocking the stuffing out of him.
As Zidane grinned and raised his arm up to volunteer, Vivi knew without question or doubt that he was about to play as well. It was a given. Not only did Vivi not want to be separated from Zidane, but he wanted to play too! How long had it been since he and Zidane had done something fun together? Longer than Vivi cared to recall. The thought that maybe this would be really difficult didn't even occur to Vivi, he was so wrapped up in his friend's cheerful mood.
The black mage's eyes stayed locked onto Zidane as he said he thought he knew Tidus from somewhere. That brought up memories from the Sandlot unbidden. Vivi felt a little relief... At least he wasn't the only one that had forgotten... Vivi pushed forward to stand next to Zidane and looked at the registration papers. These were pretty easy to figure out. He didn't know what position he would take yet, but he knew that it would not be attack... Looking up at Tidus, Vivi was sure that these players were gonna be big guys and he doubted that he'd be able to do much against them.
He tugged on Zidane's glove and held up a registration form. "Me too."

Tifa walked through the crowded streets of Spira, her chocolate coloured eyes scoured the area as she attempted to find her mark; a certain chocobo-headed jerk who was reluctant to show any emotions to those who cared about him. As a result, she wasn't exactly watching where she was going, or doing much of anything else, for that matter. She was absorbed in her thoughts, reminiscing about all of the stupid things that Cloud had done in her presence, and all of the stupid things he had done whilst not in her presence.
It was just as she was about to start ignoring the outside stimuli that she a loud and annoyingly rambunctious voice over a megaphone. She brought her gaze up from the ground in front of her and narrowed her eyes upon the source of the noise. It was a man; or, well, a young man, at the most, and he had sandy blonde hair and it seemed an ego to match the volume of his voice. She kicked the ground in front of her as she listened, and edged her way through the crowd as the boy continued to ramble on about some Zanarkand Abes or something another.
She listened for a while, and eventually made a decision. She'd been stressing out about the whole Cloud situation for a little too long, and she had absolutely no leads whatsoever as to what the guy was doing now, other than being dramatic and causing a whole lot of chaos for anyone who cared about him. Her arms were crossed and she viewed the situation for a while, watching other volunteers to see if it was even going to be worth the effort.
A lion, of all things, signed up for the team, as did; her eyebrows furrowed as she saw him, and she couldn't help but feel as though he should have been recognized. And what looked to be a young boy; well, that pretty much cemented it in her mind; if they could have such varied members, it wouldn't matter much if they also had a female bartender in their ranks, as well. She walked forward and took a hold of a pen, and said, "Sure, sign me up, as well!"

Position: Right Defense Abilities: [Aerora; Strike Raid; Blitz; Faith.] Random Stat One: 9 Random Stat Two: 26 Random Stat Three: 10 Random Stat Four: 11 Random Stat Five: Riku He'd picked a strange time to visit this world.
It was so busy Ventus was being pushed and pulled through the crowd despite his pleas for people to let him through. Was it always like this?! From what he heard he could gather that there was some sort of event going on, but the word "blitzball" meant pretty much nothing to the boy. Nor did anyone stop and answer his questions; he was so short most people didn't even see him, and instead were calling to each other excitedly about bets they had on the Kilika Beasts or the Luca Goers (whatever THOSE were!) Ven had started out near a theatre by the water and had somehow found his way pushed through several flights of stairs in his attempt to find somewhere less crowded before he was finally knocked to the ground at what appeared to be a dock.
"Oof!' Rubbing the elbow he hit on the ground, embarrassed, as he scrambled to his feet, Ven's attention turned to someone yelling through some sort of megaphone. He was standing on top of crates and getting strange looks from several passerby (maybe that was how you had to ask for help int his world- stand on top of crates and yell really loud) as he went on and on about… oppression? Not being taken seriously? And some kind of sport? From what he could gather the man needed help with something. Players of some kind. Well, Ven had never played the sport, but the idea was intriguing. Proving himself by playing a sport? He used to love running around and that's all most of them were, right? Well, this one at least seemed to involve water somehow, but he could swim! Mostly! The more he thought about it, the more he felt his confidence rise in the idea.
Thankfully, others seemed to have decided to help as well. As Ven stood there, teetering back and forth on whether to sign up or not, an odd assortment of people had joined the team. A lion, a monkey, a woman, and someone with a hat (oh my!). It seemed they needed only one more player, so finally Ven stepped forward, hoping he wasn't going to regret this later. He really did have other things he should be doing, but… it never hurt to help someone out!
"Yeah! I'd like to show the world what I'm capable of, sir." He said seriously before scribbling his name on the sign-up sheet. He had no idea what any of these positions were, but he was in luck- there was only one left so no awkward decisions for him! "Uh," Suddenly deciding it was better not to lie, he sheepishly smiled. "…I don't know how to play at all, so I might not be any help, but… I'll do my best!" Looking determined, he nodded, before looking around him intently as if hoping to somehow sponge off of the others' blitzball skills. (WOW NONE OF MY ABILITIES ARE VERY GOOD (I LITERALLY DON'T REALLY HAVE ANY THAT HIT ONLY ONCE OOPS MAYBE I SHOULD THOUGHT OF THAT) FOR THIS I DON'T KNOW WHAT I"M DOING but here's a post GOSH ZIDANE AND TIDUS!!!!!!!!! -scurries away-)

Don't, you, give up on it You bite the hand that feeds you
[/div][/sub] (OOC: Thank you so much for everyone who joined! Okay, so thanks to your templates you posted, here are everyone's results in the order of who posted! Now, there will be no posting order; as this thread is intended for everyone to have fun this summer, just post when you can, and the next round will continue once everyone's posted. People who are not playing Blitzball can post in the thread and be in the audience. Remember, if you have any questions or concerns, please PM any of my accounts. Now let's kick some blitzballs! Goooo Abes! ^__^)
Tidus - Tackling Abilities: Drain Tackle's special effect is cutting the stats of his opponent in half for that turn only. If he chooses to pass it to another player, they gain +5 to their SH if they attempt to kick a goal, for that turn only. Cannot stack. Venom Tackle II's special effect is Poisoning the opponent, cutting the stats of his opponent in by the same amount the next round/encounter before it wears off and also adding + 5 to ATK. Shooting abilities: Sphere Shot's special effect is adding +3 to SH stat when he kicks a goal. Jecht Shot's special ability is able to eliminate two players blocking the kick and adding +5 to his SH. (he cannot eliminate the goalie) Positon: Left Forward BL (Blocking) : 10 (divided it by three and this is his average in the game, to be fair) PA (Passing): 14 AT (Attack): 19 EN (Endurance) 13 SH (Shooting) : 14
Simba - Tackling abilities: Ground Shaker's special effect adds the Regen effect, if Simba manages to knock out an opponent's EN by reducing it to 0, the next time one of his stats are reduced it will immediately return back to it's original stat on the same turn effectively meaning he will eliminate one opponent from the encounter. X-Claw's special effect is like Venom Tackle, adding + 3 to Simba's AT for that turn only and which inflicts Poison status effect, making that opponent's stats reduce by the same amount for the next turn. If he chooses to pass it to another player, that team player will gain +5 to their SH for the next turn they attempt to shoot a goal for that turn only. Does not stack. Shooting abilities: Ferocious Claw is Simba's Jecht Shot, adding + 5 to Simba's SH to get past the goalie, and removes two opponents using their BL stat to block the shot. (he cannot eliminate the goalie) High Fang is like Wither Shot, and adds +3 to Simba's SH while also cutting the BL and CA stat in half of any opponent that turn who attempts to catch the ball. Positon: Right Forward BL (Blocking) : 7 PA (Passing): 27 AT (Attack): 8 EN (Endurance): 13 SH (Shooting) : 15
Zidane - Tackling abilities: Free Energy is like Wither Tackle, adding +3 to Zidane's AT stat and reducing his opponent's stats by half for that turn. If he reduces their EN to 0 and takes the ball, if he passes it to another player they gain +5 to their SH when they attempt to shoot a goal next turn, for that turn only. Cannot stack. Tidal Flame burns like Venom Tackle, giving +3 to Zidane's ATK stat, and poisoning the opponent with the ball, making their stat drop by the same amount Zidane reduced their EN by in the next encounter. Shooting abilities: Grand Lethal is like Wither Shot and adds +3 to Zidane's SH stat plus the opponent's BL and CA stats are halved for that turn only, further increasing Zidane's SH stat. Solution 9 is like Jecht Shot and eliminates two opponents blocking the goal, removing their stats and adds +5 for him to shoot towards the goalie (he cannot eliminate the goalie). Positon: Middle Forward BL (Blocking) : 8 PA (Passing): 29 AT (Attack): 20 EN (Endurance) 11 SH (Shooting) : 14
Vivi - Tackling abilities: Flare's special tacking ability gives Vivi that Volley effect, if the opponent's EN is not reduced to 0, then when the ball is next dropped, it automatically goes to Vivi and the next person he passes to will gain +5 to their SH stat for the turn they kick for the goal only. Cannot stack. If more than one player has the Volley effect, it will take turns starting with whoever used the ability to gain the Volley effect first. Drain's special tackle ability gives Vivi the Regen effect, if one of Vivi's stats is reduced in a encounter by an opponent, then the stat in that turn is automatically returned to normal, thus ignoring one opponent's tackle or block for that that turn before Regen wears off. Shooting abilities: Thundara is like Nap Shot, inflicting Sleep if Vivi uses it, adding +3 to his SH stat and putting the goal keeper to sleep as it passes him, removing his CA stat for that turn only. Comet is Vivi's Jecht Shot, adds +5 to his SH stat for that turn only, and eliminates two opponent's stats before he kicks it past the goalie (he cannot remove the goalie). Positon: Left Defense BL (Blocking) : 8 PA (Passing): 7 AT (Attack): 13 EN (Endurance) 17 SH (Shooting) : 14
Tifa - Tackling abilities(these will used as Passing Abilities to throw the ball back into play once she has caught it): Burning Arrow's special effect gives her the Volley status, and the next time the ball is dropped by a player, it will go directly to her for her to throw to the player of her choice and give +5 to their AT, PA and SH stats for the next two team players to carry the ball for the rest of the game. Cannot stack. If other players have the Volley status, then it will take turns starting with who used the ability with Volley status attached first. Meteordrive's special effect is like Wither Pass, and the next opponent who touches the ball and doesn't have their EN stat reduced to 0 in a encounter, they will automatically have their EN stat remaining by the exact same amount as the last encounter in their next encounter (including any added ATK her team players added). Shooting abilities (these will be used by Tifa as the goalie as Catching Abilities to catch the opposing team's shots): Final Heaven is Tifa's Jecht Shot; in the case of the goalie, it will add +5 to her CA stat and she can add +5 to EN and BL of the next two team players who touch the ball for the rest of the game. Cannot stack. Somersault's special ability is + 3 is added to her CA stat, and she evades any special effects her opponent's shooting abilities have (including adding to their SH stat). Positon: Goalie BL (Blocking) : 10 PA (Passing): 6 AT (Attack): 16 EN (Endurance) 9 SH (Shooting) : 15 CA (Catching, goalie-only stat) : 9
Ven - Tackling abilities: Aerora's Special effect is like Wither Tackle, and if the opponent's EN stat is not reduced to 0, then their EN stat in that encounter will remain the same for the next encounter (including any added ATK stat from Ven's team players). Strike Raid gives Ven the Volley status, and if the ball is dropped, then Ven will automatically get the ball and +5 will be added to the next team member's SH stat if Ven passes it to them. If other players have the Volley status, then it takes turns and the player that used the ability with Volley gets the ball first followed by the next person and so on. Shooting abilities: Blitz is Ven's Venom Shot, adding +3 SH to his stats and inflicting Poison on the goalie if he catches the ball, keeping his CA down by +3 for the rest of the game. Faith is Ven's Jecht Shot, adding +5 SH to his Shooting and eliminating two players from the shot, taking their BL out of the kick (he cannot eliminate the goalie). Positon: Right Defense BL (Blocking) : 9 PA (Passing): 26 AT (Attack): 10 EN (Endurance) 11 SH (Shooting) : 15
(And now finally getting the numbers out of the way... let's play!)

It was kinda strange when suddenly a voice spoke up to thankfully help Tidus when everything seemed lost; he knew even if he couldn't form a qualifying team in time he could always find another way into the stadium himself, but Tidus was ever grateful people did want to join him. The odd thing about it was the person who spoke up wasn't quite a person at all, as far as humanoids go; but he still seemed like a person none the less, even if he looked like a Ronso with tanish fur on four legs. People started laughing, and Tidus defensively came to Simba's defense with a generous "Hey, no-one asked you all to look!", before the crowd peeled away and left him to respectfully kneel down to eye height of the strange new creature. "I don't think I've ever seen your kind before, but... sure! I'll write for you... Simba, King... of... Pridelands! Got it, thanks!" he finished writing for the Lion King, shaking his paw in a friendly manner. "I'm..."
Before he got to properly introduce himself, someone else interupted, and turning to see who it was he was glad they did. "Hey! Do you know me? How could you forget me, Zidane!" he laughed sincerely, and gave his fellow Warrior of Cosmos a bright smile. "You bet it's me, Tidus, who else could it be?" Well it would be better that no-one answered that rhetorical question, as now there was someone out there based on his real-world counterpart... he was just a dream modelled after Shuyin brought back to life by the women who needed him, after all. "I knew when Cosmos called me and I found Warrior that our worlds had been connected again; welcome to my home world, Spira! This city is called Luca, home of the game of we're about to play!" he stretched his arms out, encompassing not only the beautiful city of Luca, but also including Simba and Zidane's new friend while he gave Zidane the registration form to fill out.
"Well, who do we have here that you brought to visit, Zidane?" he wondered, bending over slightly again after having stood up to reach the eye level of the littlest mage; why did they have to be so... vertically challenged? At this rate, he was going to throw his back out like his old man, but he didn't mind as long as he didn't have to do it often and they didn't take offense to him standing at ful height as if he thought he was superior to them in any way. That wouldn't be a good first impression. "Great, the more the merrier!" he encouraged, seeing the mage with the straw hat passing a registration form back to Zidane.
Next came a young woman, and this time Tidus had to look up at her, blue eyes meeting brown. "Oh, hey there! Not a problem! Here." he offered, and handed her a registration form as well. He wasn't against having female members on a blitzball team; it was little known fact that both men and women played the game, she looked like she packed a lot of muscle with a lot of determination behind it. "Thanks for joining the Zanarkand Abes! You look like somebody that goes all-out... I like that!" He smiled kindly at her, and passed on the registration form as the last person offered to sign up.
"There you go, sport." he smiled, signing up a kid that he remembered he used to be the same age as, strangely when he had been re-incarnated on Destiny Islands with those kids Sora, Kairi and Riku. He wondered where they were now, but he supposed he would find them soon enough after this was all over. "Oh, hey, you remind me of some kid I used to spar with... but your hair looks like a different guy with a giant sword I used to fight alongside too. Hey, Zidane, doesn't this guy look like Cloud?" he related to Ven and then looked over to the thief, laughing slightly in humor as he patted the kid on the shoulder. "I like your can-do attitude, you're on the team! And don't worry, you'll show the world what you're capable of, and I'll give you all a quick run-down how to play this game." He stood up on top of the crates again, clearing his voice to request everyone to politely quiet down, then raised his a little once they were settled. "Hey everyone, this is your team captain speaking; my name is Tidus! Hey there to you all! Now, listen up... we don't have much time left."
Before he explained the rules on how to play, he may as well cut clean with them why he was signing up people off the street at the last minute. "I need you all to know before we go any further; at the finals of this tournament there's a really bad guy that's going to do something... horrible. Zidane... he's like Kuja, just as calculating and empowered with magic, but with more guards and even more of a tyrant." he tried to at least have Zidane understand, but wasn't sure how he could explain how cruel and manipulative Seymour was unless they had seen his treachery. His hands tightened into fists at the memory of trying to marry Yuna and having him killed, recalling calling him crazy when he heard him speak his mind. "He's lied to the people, and become elected as our world's leader through his twisted schemes. He's going to try to do something at the finals, and all I know is that last time he released monsters into the stadium for him to kill, and have an audience to watch so he could win Spira on his side. But... people died while that happened. Men, women... children. So if you don't decide to walk out now, which I understand if you do; do it for the innocent people that don't realize what's going on." Another thought that made him furrow his blond brow, and he wished Yuna was here; he almost wished everyone he had fought with was here as well including his dad, who said he would be here too despite Tidus' reluctance.
(It was amazing that these guys were still here, though. Besides Zidane, I had only met some of these people for the first time today... yet, I could feel the courage of the light in their hearts; and, looking back, the determination and resolve the same as I had to show the world what it could be. I felt proud... to be their captain, not the star player... they were all stars in my eyes.) he thought inwardly to himself. "So, the only way to get into the finals without his guards overwhelming us, is to be in it by entering as a Blitzball team. They can't touch us as long as we're in front of a crowd; Seymour wants to keep his act up he's the good guy after all, until it's too late for everyone. Once we find out what he's up to, then we can catch him out for it in front of everyone, or at the least protect as many people as we can. If you're with me... then, thank you, and here's how you play the game..."
---
Some time later, after he had finished mollifying everyone how to play the game and they had handed in their registration forms, they were all inside the stadium. The roar of the crowd was all around them as they stood in the very center of the stadium, atop enormous rings, and pocketed at the edge of these rings were small warm, bubble-jetted spas for the players to relax in before the game started. Tidus relaxed as he lay back in one of these, drowning out the roar of the audience for the moment as he listened to the soothing rhythmic tide of the water lapping up against the side of the spa, his eyes closed. "Ladies and gentlemen, tonight's match will be... the Zanarkand Abes, versus... the Guado Glories! For the title of going into the quarter finals!" Tidus heard the announcer even from underwater, rising as he seemed serious for a moment, turning to everyone in his team in the surrounding spas next to him. "Remember what I told you guys, that because of players trying to enhance their breathing, they came up with this water you'll be able to breathe in. But when I say 'What's our goal?' I want you all to cheer with me, 'VICTORY!'." he advised them all, looking amongst Zidane, and what seemed to be capable fighters based on their weapons. Which should have been dismissed for the moment, as they were banned from being used against other players. They were capable warriors, right, so they should understand what he had said earlier...?
"So everyone, as the Zanarkand Abes... what's our goal?" he smiled, hoping the other players would unite with team spirit and chime in.
The moment Tidus had finished speaking, turning to the center of the spherical rings they were standing on, a big spark appeared with a static snap and had been gathering in size, until suddenly there was an implosion which the forceful but harmless shockwave of wind washed over them and slightly pushed back the crowd. From the center of the advanced and once-forbidden machina that was powering up the sphere, water began to fill it up, and Tidus lead the way and jumped in to swim to the middle. The scoreboard lit up and the whistle blew after everyone had taken their positions and went with the coin toss, the Glories winning the toss and getting the ball first. Immediately a machina from the bottom of the Blitzball sphere shot up the ball, and it landed in the possession of the team captain of the Guados called Navara; for this round it would be up to the Zanarkand Abes to stop him with their tackling abilities as he swam towards the goal.
Tournament theme: Otherworld (Watch the video of the opening of FFX if you want to see the Blitzball Stadium/start of the blitzball game I'm describing, imagine that just without the fact Auron is there and the stadium falling apart at the end after being attacked by Sin, rofl. HAVE FUN! C=)

When the rules had been explained to Simba, he probably came across as the most ignorant of the team in almost every sense of the word. So many of the rules needed to be explained to him, explained, and then defined with certain words and phrases. So he didn’t get the words that many of these humans (And humanoids, from the looks of Zidane and Vivi) used. Thankfully, Tidus didn’t get too frustrated by the lion’s ignorance, which was probably because Simba was actually quite eager to learn and prove himself a little. He lacked a lot of confidence, but his heart was in the right place, and if it hadn’t been for what Tidus had mentioned before they all officially signed up, he might have backed out. So much so that after being explained everything and with a few quick minutes before the game began and they were to head to the center platform, Simba had wanted to call Tidus aside to mention to him a theory he had.
Nanaki, back in Cosmo canyon, had mentioned that his grandfather once talked about the worlds in the stars, and that each star was a world. If the tales of his world of the Pridelands coincided, then that meant that the Great Kings of our past perhaps left the world physically, but traversed the stars as guardians. If that was the case…
Simba couldn’t think much on this now as the announcer came over, talking about their eventual match. Versus the Guardo Glories? Well that was a strange name for an opposing team, but Tidus reminder about being able to actually breathe in the water was thankful to Simba. From his sitting position within the spa he rose to all fours, not traditionally decked in much to signify his affiliation (Which probably helped, given he was already some of the colors), but it wasn’t as if it was going to be hard to spot which team the full grown Lion played for.
“So everyone, as the Zanarkand Abes... what's our goal?”
Tidus words did not go unheard to Simba. And though he lacked the confidence, he knew he had to do his best. It wasn’t so much for the tournament or game now. No… it was for the safety of a world.
Because that’s why he had been brought here. To help the great kings protect their new worlds.
“Victory! Simba cheered, followed up by a Roar to clash with the bang and snap of the electrical sparks to cause the implosion. It was a roar for flavor, but it helped him give himself a little bit of confidence. And if it could boost his own confidence, maybe it could boost his teammates as well. With the roar complete, Simba leaned back and leapt into the water, testing Tidus’ claim on faith and finding that he in fact could breathe underwater. Helpful, to be certain. He swam to the Right of Tidus a bit, looking over to his captain within the odd water that was suspended in air and could be breathed. Such strange worlds and magic they had. With the coin toss won and the opposing team collecting the ball, the captain collecting it. Simba moved in for a tackle with his X-Claw maneuver, striking wide in front of him towards the captain to tackle him, but careful not to use his claws.

All alone, cold fields wander Memories of it, cloud your sight
[/div][/sub]
"VICTORY!"
The horn started the game off as the captain of the Guado Glories, Seymour's former team, rushed for the goal. Simba came for him in a tackle, and Tidus was swimming in the immediate area off to his left, watching as the lion's ferocious tackle pummeled the captain head-on. Tidus hung back for the moment, however; while Simba was a greenhorn to the game and was doing surprisingly well, there were other ways to show support simply by running in and tackling right after him as well. There was the concern of his as the captain that if they both didn't knock out the captain to steal the ball, then the captain would break through their defenses and rush the goal. Tidus waited for just that, and as predicted, the Guado captain passed the ball towards another player, Tidus reaching up with a hand to try to block it.
"And after a devastating tackle from Simba, Navara Guado has made a pass, and Tidus the team captain is attempting to block it... its passed through his block and it's caught by Geira Guado!" the commentator announced, and an uproar came from the stands as the crowd cheered both Simba's and Tidus's efforts.
Geira Guado, the left forward of the Guado Glories, swam unopposed to the goal and attempted to make a kick for the first goal of the game. If the Guados got the goal, it would put them with a solid lead for the game, making an humilating early defeat for the Zanarkand Abes. Swimming after him, Tidus attempted to be one of the defenders to block as he lined up a shot; if the shot was to be blocked, it was up to any other team players as well as the goalie's catching abilities to block it. "Giera lines up for the kick..." the commentator added to the tension of the moment, everyone's breath hitched as the moment in time suspended; would the Zanarkand Abes be eliminated early and Seymour's plot to destroy Spira never challenged?

For those that want to join, fill out the template below and pretend Tidus has already signed you up as a player of the Zanarkand Abes, and then post what you're doing like Simba and Tidus did! I'll calculate the rest like above. First come gets first served their position on the field. Light/Lawful Neutral only (for the moment unless we get more people), PM Tidus/Vincent if unsure. Thank you!
Tidus already has the position of Left Forward, Simba already has the position of Right Forward and if not all positions are taken, then they will be filled with NPCs. If these powers happen to have special effects, regardless Tidus will post up with your stat results what your powers will do, or how many times it will knock out opponents if it's a Shooting Power.
Sign-up end date: Players will be benched if they are not active for a week. (Additional players and teams will be added if positions exceed the demand!)
If you have any questions and aren't sure how to go about the game after reading the above, please PM Tidus on Vincent's account (since he's on it more as staff) or ask me in the c-box when I'm in there. ^__^ Have fun guys!)

Position: Left Defense Abilities: [Force Round; Heavy Bomber; Rapid Shot; Energy Spread] Random Stat One: 8 Random Stat Two: Random Stat Three: 14 Random Stat Three: 15 Random Stat Four: 23 Random Stat Five: Kairi
Well the good news was that Koki had indeed managed to get out of Traverse Town. The bad news? It wasn’t exactly how he would’ve liked to leave the place. See he was trying to find out more about the gummi ships and hoping Cid would appear once more and help him out. He would’ve preferred to leave Traverse Town with more information and a potential safer way of traveling; however, as luck would have it, he didn’t get his way. Instead, as he made his way around a corner heading towards the item shop to see if he could help out, that dark matter that had taken him from his home had cropped up in the form of a portal right in front of him! There was no time to avoid, stop, think…nothing. The black portal had popped up right where he was stepping, so before he knew it he was slipping into that cold embrace and falling through darkness. Out of Traverse Town he went, falling through the air of a place that was completely blinding.
While he fell through open air blinded by the light for a moment, he somehow remembered to flap his wings to slow his decent to the hard earth. Slowly, his eyes readjusted as he landed lightly in a thankfully deserted hallway of some sort. Folding his wings back, he took off his glasses for a moment as he looked around the place as he cleaned a smudge off one of the lens. This hall was very detailed and well-kept for something that seemed abandoned. It was made of stone and carpet and had open windows that let in a nice breeze that was warm on the skin. Replacing the glasses on his face, Koki moved to one of the windows and took in the view. Wherever he was, was packed with buildings and held a strange scent on the air that was a bit hard for him to place at first. He heard the calling of a bird and looked up to see a white bird gliding by on the warm air. He had seen that bird once before…a long time ago before he had died. What were they called again…Seagulls? That’s right and if they were nearby then that meant the ocean was nearby too. Salt water! That’s what he smelt on the breeze. It had been so long he had almost completely forgotten the scent and names.
A downside to being dead, but at least he was able to remember the names and places and in turn a few happier memories of times spent on the beach...although the people there were blurred. The calm Reaper stayed where he was for a moment, looking at the clean city relaxing and enjoying the place for the moment and then deciding he should get some work done, he managed to push himself away from the view so he could explore.
Exploring was a lot easier said than done. This place was huge! With sprawling buildings all around closely packed together on the thin streets, it did not take long for Koki to find people and not just a moderate number of them either. This place was packed almost to bursting with folks, talking, laughing, yelling, crying, and more. There was an excited air to the crowd around him as they all talked at once about something called blitzball. Blitzball? What was that?
He listened some more….Something about water, a ball, and goals. Water soccer, then? Wait a minute. Soccer wasn’t played in the water it was played on the land, wasn’t it? The Reaper became more uncertain of this the more he heard people talk about blitzball. Shaking his head, he continued to swim through the huge crowds only taking small breaks here there by slipping into over packed bars and stores were people were gathering around tables or TVs, making bets, or shoving to get some priceless item in the store. It was pure chaos making it hard for the Reaper to tell which way was which without flying and of course he wasn’t going to do that. No need to draw attention to himself with this many people around. Besides he didn’t want people thinking he was part of an act or something. They seemed quite fine with the idea of him having wings on his back as long as he didn’t move them and at least pretended not to feel the slight pain they caused if someone bumped into them on their way to wherever.
Acting normal was easy enough and the shoving was tolerable, still finally being able to break away from the shoving crowd was nice. Finally away from the main flow, Koki looked around taking note the breeze was stronger and the sound of waves lapping against the low walls could be heard. As he looked around, he took in the large vessels here with their massive sails and flags bearing different colors and symbols. While the symbols didn’t mean a thing to Koki, his foggy memory told him the vessels he saw were ships and this place was the docks. Maybe this place was big on trade and that is why all the different ships were there. Why else would so many gather…?
Koki’s thoughts were distracted as some kid began to rally up folks for something. Curious Koki went over there to see what all the talk was about and after hearing the speech (which barely made sense to him), the Reaper decided to sign up. Sure, he didn’t know blitzball or anything of that sort, but he did enjoy a challenge now and then so why not. Besides he had nothing better to do and exploring would have to be put on a hold until these crowds, hopefully died down. In any case, it seemed like he wasn’t the only one with the same idea or needed the rules had to be explained to in the end. There was a talking lion—that’s right a talking lion, he said it so shut it and listen to the story—that was part of the team and some others that seemed to be just as lost as he was about the game and a bit out of place too. That was at least comforting. Not alone in the oddball boat. Good.
After some walking and explaining, the team was as prepared as they were ever going to be for the game. While Koki could not remember ever being a great swimmer, he wasn’t afraid of water or death. If he could truly drown he would simply die again and if not well that prove that the guy named Tidus was true to his word about the water being breathable. In any case, the Reaper wouldn’t back away, anyway. It would seem that this game was a cover for a guy named Seymour and the real reason this team had been drawn together was to be sure that if and when the dude did do something, this world would have warriors to defend it. Enough said.
After the victory shout and the buzzer went off the team began to jump into the water one by one. Koki followed suit and everyone went into action. The lion tackled one of the players, but the player got through the vicious tackle and passed the ball to another player. The team captain tried to block, but the pass went through and now the player in possession of the ball was about to take a shot at the goal... with no one blocking the way. That was no good. Koki moved into position, so that when the shot at the goal was made, he made his attempt to block it.

Position: Right Forward Abilities: [Blizzaga, Holy, Meteor, Apocalypse] Random Stat One: 26 Random Stat Two: 18 Random Stat Three: 13 Random Stat Four: 10 Random Stat Five: Kairi
------------------------------------------------------------------
Even in the distant world of Archipelago Rinoa had heard of some kind of game tournament in a world called Spira. She thought it would be fun to go and see such a thing. But unfortunately she couldn't find anyone to go with her. Everyone was busy, and with Squall missing once again, Rinoa was left with no one to accompany her. She didn't let it stop her though. She needed a distraction from everything that was going on and Cid, as well as everyone else, encouraged her to go to this tournament and enjoy a little vacation. They left little room for Rinoa to argue and she was she was basically pushed onto the Ragnarok and sent on his way. With a smile on her face from her friends antics she started up the airship and departed for the world of Spira.
After a short journey through space Rinoa arrived in the city of Luca where the tournament was being held. She had researched the sport they would be playing, Blitzball it was called, on the way and had caught on to the basic concepts of the game pretty easily. Enough so that she could follow the game without getting too lost. Rinoa docked the Ragarock and exited the ship. She looked around and a smile instantly graced her features. The festivities had been put into full swing and there were people everywhere shopping, eating, and just generally having a good time. It would seem that the tournament hasn't started yet. Rinoa was excited to have made it in time.
Rinoa wandered the busy streets just enjoying the siights and sounds of the busy city streets. Then she heard an announcement that the teams that would be competing were getting off of their ships at Dock 2 and she decided to go check it out. There was a large crowd gathered around the docks and Rinoa decided to get a better look by climbing up onto a stack of crates nearby. She watched and listening with excitement as the announcers introduced the different teams. The crowd dispersed shortly after but then there was some type of argument between what appeared to the the leader of one of the teams and and a blonde haired guy. The leader and his team departed and the blonde guy got up on some crates just like Rinoa was and started talking into a megaphone.
He wanted to people to sign up for his team. Rinoa was confused for a moment. So this guy was in the tournament but he didn't have a team to play with? He made s nice little speech and while not a lot of what he applied to her particularly she was far too modest to say anything to the contrary and she decided that she wouldn't leave this guy out of the tournament if she could help it. She jumped down from her crate and jogged over to the stack the guy was standing on. [green]"Hi there! I'm Rinoa. Do you still need help with your tournament?[/green] She had only read up on the game on her way here and didn't think she'd be of much help but she would still do whatever she could to help out.
