Hollow Bastion, a structure filled with much history, both light and dark. Before it was once the center of the Radiant Gardens, a peacefull kingdom that was once ruled by Ansem the Wise. The place was of both power, and beauty. Supposedly, Ansem was banished from his own kingdom, leaving his apprentice, Xehanort to continue his research about the human heart. A chain of events lead to the birth of the supernatural creatures, created from the darkness within one's heart. The Heartless. Creatures born from the darkness within one's heart and they, in turn, seek hearts. Hearts weak enough for them to devour. Radiant Garden soon became a desolate wasteland of crystals, its former glory reduced to nothing more than a structure of magnificent proportions. Empty, the dark witch Malificent made the castle her own--

Vincent drops the book amongst other piles of books he previously read hours ago. Indeed, the library had all the information he needed about this new world. When he came to, he awoke in this very castle alone with but a few hungry heartlesses. He didn't know what they were then, but he knew they were dangerous. So with a couple of well placed shots, he now knew that they could be incapitated with bullets. Oh, and tearing them to shreads with his brass claws work too.
Vincent Valentine read another book, this time with information about the castle's inner workings, such as it's complex plumbing system and maps. In other words, its blueprints. Or, what seems to be blueprints. He had his back against the wall, with a table at his side(with books piled on top of the other) and a trolley of books at the other(the ones he haven't read yet). After finding the library, he realized that it would be usefull to give himself the 'education' he needed. He learned much about the new world he was in, including the origin of those creatures as well as the current events. For some odd reason, the library seemed updated. He closes the book yet again, tossing it swiftly to the table. He looked out the window, his blood crimson eyes reflecting the sun's golden rays. Dusk was around the corner. From the window, he could see a small town. After some pondering, he decided to take a look around that town and get familiar with it. Vincent had a feeling that...he'd be staying here for a long, long while.
He turned swiftly on his heel, getting the view of the rows of bookshelves. Hundreds of it. He was in a vast library, amongst thousands of books. Vincent hmphed, a small smile appearing on his pale, youthfull(?) face. He used to do the same thing before when he was still a Turk. Of course, he had access to the library there(which was more advanced). He'd spent his free time there, burying himself amongst books of all genres. The hobby died though, after that 'incident'. But somehow, he got back on track and most recently he began reading again and now has a thing for history and fiction. Yes, he did read a lot. But he really enjoyed it when he read at that place...a spot under a tree where he and Lucrecia used to--
Vincent frowned. Memories...no matter how long time passes, one never forgets such memorable moments. Vincent sighs. "...how nostalgic." he says to himself, although he knows it's more than that. He picks up the book he stopped reading a while ago, and continued on to the next page.
The skies outside were now a mix of white and orange. The sun was setting and soon, those heartless will be roaming around again...
