As some of you may or may not now, I am now tournament organizer/coordinator guy. I plan to run a tournament every month and I will attempt to do something different every month to prevent the tournaments from becoming stagnant and uninteresting. For the first one though, let’s keep it to classics and make it a free for all to see who is the best fighter on the board ^_^!... or rather out of the participants but I digress. This person will stand above the rest as the best and will get not one, but TWO upgrades/abilities for toppling the competition beneath them in the case that the tournament ends up being as big as I’m hoping. If so, 2nd place will also receive a prize in the form of one upgrade/ability for their character but only if the participants happens to hit 16. Otherwise it’ll just be one upgrade for first place until further notice.
1: Max participants will be 8 until further notice. I may increase it but that’s only if there is a plethora of participants applying and can hopefully reach 16 people.
2: To make sure it does go quickly, posting limit will be 72 hours from the last post in said fight. An extension of 24 hours can be requested for any purpose but only once per tournament. Send the request to me in either a PM, or e-mail (or if I happen to be online, MSN IM works too) and I’ll be sure to respond to them as soon as possible. If I am unable to respond for some reason (EX: My cat’s on fire) you can try Seifer as well or any other moderator that happens to be on.
3. Much like how Tifa ran it, participants will get four posts between the two of them to “woo” the judges. This rule may be changed later depending on how it works out in this tournament in the interest of saving time (worst case scenario, a fight could last 24-26 days if people are slacking and if it gets out of hand, the rules will be changed to accommodate those who are more punctual).
4. For anyone who is kicked out of tournament due to inactivity, they will be banned from the next tournament. If they do it again in the tournament following that month, then they’ll get three months to get their act together and the same punishment will apply for every offense after that. This may seem harsh to some but I believe it’s a matter of respecting others. If you don’t think you’ll be able to post on time for a tournament because your family’s moving, school exams are coming up, or whatever other reason, please refrain from joining and ruining the experience for whoever your opponent may be and could be looking forward to having a battle with you.
5. All other rules previously established on the forums (No god-modding, no flaming, no cursing, etc, etc) apply to the tournaments as well as the ones posted here aside from the posting limit. For tournaments, the posting limit stated here will be the one in effect as opposed to the raiding one, again in the interest for saving time and hopefully getting these tournaments going on a month-by-month basis as I’d like to avoid doing it every two months if possible.
6. The final rule that must be followed and not broken under ANY circumstances is… have fun ^_^!
All participants can apply either by PMing me or by posting beneath me with the character they'd like to enter into the tournament. My email is tj_louzon@hotmail.com for both my regularly checked email and my MSN.Sign ups will be closed on Sunday 11:59PM Eastern Time until further notice.
