Ah… hunting… what a joyous hobby. There was so much involved in the activity, whether it is stalking your prey, masking your smell and the noise you made, tracking them down through thickets of forest, and much more. To catch your game you had to think like it as well, getting into the mindset of the animal you were pursuing. How might they react to this sound? Is it their mating season? Is there a source of water nearby? All these questions have to be answered; otherwise the hunter would have little luck finding his prey.
“Please… please… don’t kill me… please,” a rather frail and skinny man mumbled through his panting. He was obviously being chased by something, the leaves and twigs snapping under more than just his own feet with the faint sound of laughter accompanying each snap. He tripped, his body falling roughly to the ground as he grunted loudly. He quickly picked himself back up again, barely avoiding the feeling of cold steel greeting his back. It was unbelievably dark that night, the man barely recognizing his own hand in front of his face. He continued to run blindly, tripping a few more times before arriving at a clearing in the forest, dropping to his knees in exhaustion. His breath was ragged as the only source of light for miles, the moon, shined brightly on his bruised and beaten body. Whatever it had been that chased him all the way out of the camp had played with him, beating him to a pulp before allowing him a chance to escape. It was the hunter’s hobby, giving the prey a fleeting sense of hope that they would get away, allowing them a ten minute head start before the chase began. Then fear would set in, the hunter always one step behind the prey, always a few inches short of ending their life. And then the chase would stop, the prey giving a moment of reprieve as they caught their breath. Oh how they’d shout in glee, happy that they had managed to outrun their executioner, able to live another day.
“Thank you God,” he mumbled to himself as he stood back up, the pain settling in now that the adrenaline had stopped pumping. Slowly he began to walk once more, not sure what direction he was going but moving anyway. There was no need to stay in this clearing any longer, he had caught his breath and was ready to move on… but it was too late. Suddenly, a blade would pierce his shoulder, a sharp yell echoing in the forest as he fell back to the ground, rolling in agony. He clutched his shoulder tightly, hoping to ease the pain but it did little to help. Then, the blade that had caused the aforementioned wound was soon used to pin the other shoulder down, assuring that any attempt at escape was futile. Another scream escaped the man’s lips as he began to go into shock, the assailant then crouching over her prey as she took a closer look at him. Her eyes shined a disturbing red as she stared into her prey’s eyes, watching as the light in them slowly drift away. She bit her bottom lip as she stood back up, her foot smashing against his stomach as she pulled her sword out of his shoulder, still observing him perish so very slowly. The screams continued as she shivered in delight, losing control of her body momentarily. Her sword wielding arm flailed wildly, cutting the air something fierce before regaining control as she blushed lightly, a faint amount of panting accompanying it.
“Please... stop... please…” the man begged with what would soon be his last breaths of air, the hunter crouching down to put her ear to his mouth.
“Huh? You’ll need to speak up if you want me to hear you dear… you were screaming so loudly just a moment ago,” she replied, a twisted smile curving against her lips, “Just let me go…” he managed to whisper, the assailant hearing his words that time. She tilted her head back as she laughed wildly, a shrieking sound now filling the jungle before she had settled down to a quieter level.
“I’m sorry but after all the work I did to set this up I just can’t do that,” she began as she paced around her prey,“the first thing I had to do was find that camp where you and all your friends were which wasn’t very easy in this forest believe me. Then I had to wait until the wee hours of the night when you had decided to relieve yourself. Cue the scream of distress by yours truly, and while at first you seemed skeptical about it you rushed off anyway. Had you ignored it you would have lived to see another day but you decided to play the hero. I had made sure to also get rid of most of the animals that may have attacked you in the middle of the night. After all, I wouldn’t have wanted you to die because you irritated a panther or something. Then when you had lost track of the scream you had begun to head back, most likely figuring that you had been too late. That was when I knocked you out and took you to this secluded spot in the forest and let the game begin. I must admit you did give quite a run, you had managed to go for twenty minutes before stopping for breath, a first that I’ve seen from you humans,” she spieled, the tip of her blade the resting upon the man’s chest.
“… if you’re not human… then what are you?” he asked, confused due to the rather human likeness his assailant possessed. The hunter crouched back down, her lips inching over to his ear as her twisted smile grew wider. Slowly, her blade began to drive into his chest as he screamed in agony, his last breath being released from his lungs as he heard these words,
“I’m Hadria Incarnatus,” (Darkness Incarnate) escaped from her lips before pulling her blade out as crimson liquid oozed into the ground beneath them, a puddle of it forming. Regardless, she quickly stepped back from it before it stained her own clothing and proceeded to climb up one of the tall trees nearby. She then sat on the branch, masked by both leaves and the darkness, licking the residue off her katana as she shivered and smacked her lips. She then let her eyes drift over to her victim’s lifeless body, a small laugh escaping her lips before she spoke,
“And with the bait set…” she whispered to herself lightly, throwing a pendant down that reflected the light from the moon, a shiny that would hopefully attract more "game" to that spot in the jungle, “let’s see what else we can catch.”

“A world needs your help,” a gentle female whispered within Yuna’s head.
“Where is it?” the young summoner asked as she floated in the darkness; however, there was no reply. Instead, a brief image of a woman cloaked in Light appear in the distance. Upon seeing the Light, Yuna began to head towards it. Closer and closer she got to it until finally the woman faded away leaving only a humming portal of light in its place. Hesitating, Yuna wondered what she would find on the other side of the portal.
A world needed her help. Did that mean there would be a war on the other side, fiends…or other enemies she had never seen before? The thought of going alone into a battle frightened the young lady. In the past, she had always had her friends by her side, but no more.
“Don’t worry,” a child like voice said from behind her. Yuna turned to face the speaker. A small child wearing purple and hooded stood not too far from her, the familiar form of a fayth. “We will fight with you,” the child said to her.
Nodding with a slight smile at the fayth, Yuna turned back to the portal. Reassured that she would be okay, she stepped into the warm light…
Some time later, Yuna was waking up to the feel of damp ground against her face and strange sounds and smells. Startled, the young lady sat up quickly and looked around. By the light of the moon, she could kiss the outlines of trees and judging from the sounds around her—the chirping of bugs, the calling of birds, and the rustling of something moving around in the low bushes—Yuna concluded she was in a forest…or perhaps a jungle. In any case, she was not at home or in the rainy area where she had met Shuyin. This place held a slight warmth to it, but also an edge of coldness that told the young lady that something was not right with wherever she was. Picking herself up from the ground, the young lady looked about her for a way out, but there seemed to be no exit.
Deciding to head forward and praying it would lead out of this tree clogged place, Yuna began to move. As the young lady walked, she remained tensed as unknown snaps, growls, and rustles greeted her ears. The more she hung out in the large and dark jungle the more she became scared as images of monsters began to form in the young lady's mind. Somewhere along the line, Yuna had began to jog through the large place as pure fear began to settle in.
Perhaps it was the panic that caused the young lady to not notice the sudden silence within the jungle or maybe it was the simple fact that she was unfamiliar with jungles in general that caused the young lady to miss the change. Whatever the case was, the young lady that was now running through the forest did not realize just how much trouble she was heading into until it was too late.
Tripping over a raised root of an ancient tree, Yuna stumbled out into a clearing before coming to a halt before a horrible sight. A man had been beaten terribly before being killed in the spot he laid. A look of horror and pain was written upon the man’s face. There was a pendant gleaming in the moonlight nearby, but the young lady was not concerned with it. Instead, her eyes were fixed upon the dead body, her own body was paralyzed with fear. As Yuna stood there looking at the body for a moment longer, her eyes slowly traveled up into the trees, looking for the thing that had killed the man in such a horrible manner. It did not take long for the young lady to spot the shadow within the trees and it took her even less time to figure out that the shadow was trouble.
Unconsciously, Yuna pulled out her staff and began to back away slowly. All the while she kept her eyes on the shadow in the trees…

And so the hunter waited, relaxing in the tree as she stared down at her victim, her heart racing at the sight. Oh how she wanted to go down there and take a closer look at her work, at the piece of art she had just created… but she couldn’t. No she had to wait in the trees patiently awaiting her next target for she would not make the same mistake she did in Twilight Town. After all, she had been in the open when she had stopped by there and had been greeted by not one, not two, not three, not four, but FIVE warriors of what she presumed to be the “Good Guys”. They had all attacked her and had she been a bit smarter and had waited in the shadows, perhaps she could have won that fight. Yet she didn’t and instead had to flee from the battle, a decision she regretted even if it did prolong her life. She had managed to take out the little black mage of their group and even heavily damaged the scythe wielding one against all odds. And oh how he bled profusely from the wound she had inflicted, the crimson liquid certainly the most delicious she had ever tasted. She had wanted more and more of it, the urge growing stronger with each passing moment as she waited up on that tree as it grew ever more difficult to do so. She wanted to scream at the top of her lungs about her crime, hoping it would attract a foe as formidable, and hopefully, as tasty.
‘Just wait… they’ll come soon and fall into my trap,' she assured herself, also serving as a reminder to what she needed to do to curb her bloodlust. After all, warriors of the Light seemed to come at the slightest whiff of trouble anyway and by hiding she could plot a sneak attack to whittle their numbers down before fulfilling her desires for inflicting excruciating agony upon others. Regardless, she soon began to hear footsteps coming in her direction, clutching her heart as it raced and she bit down on her lip. With each footfall it became louder and louder, her prey’s breathing as it came ever so much closer. Not only did that excite the Heartless hiding above, but the fact she could ONLY hear one coming toward the clearing she had done her dirty deed. If that was the case, if that target was indeed alone, the carnage that would ensue was just…
‘Hold it… back,’ the Heartless thought as she bit down on her lip harder to prevent herself from panting and giving away her position. Soon enough, the prey had come within the clearing, having fallen on the same root as the man before her. She stumbled upon the body as Hadria watched her eyes well-adjusted to the darkness that surrounded the two. The ground beneath her prey was seeped with blood, a fact that Hadria couldn’t help but smile about as her target began to look up to the trees in a vain attempt to find her. Indeed, she was but a mere human from the looks of it and surely had not had her eyes completely adjusted to the darkness that surrounded them, even with the moonlight providing some illumination of their environment. Furthermore, Hadria's shadow would easily be dwarfed and covered by that of the surrounding trees. Regardless, she was stepping back from the trap and that was certainly no good so before her target could get any further,
“Cruentus Acus,” she whispered lightly as the blood around Yuna’s feet suddenly solidified, needles extending 3 feet in an attempt to stab at her ankles and calves. If hit by this certainly her ability to run would be impaired but the attack served another purpose as well. Indeed, whether it hit or not, certainly the summoner would be distracted by the attack giving Hadria a window of opportunity to jump from the tree, coming down upon her. With her blade extended, she would attempt to cleave through her shoulder and downward, hoping to start this battle with a heavy blow. Regardless of the success of her actions, Hadria would immediately flee to the south-east, getting farther away from the moon’s light and deeper into the jungle. If the summoner hoped to avenge the man that had fallen earlier, or perhaps get a little pay back for the sneak attack, than she would need to come into the darkness, the domain of which Hadria was most suited too as she hid behind a tree, her back to the wall as she held her blade upright to avoid having be seen. After all they were in jungle… why not use that to her advantage and strike from the shadows?
‘It’s the Heartless thing to do.’

As Yuna backed away with her eyes on the shadows within the trees, her attention was suddenly drawn to movement before her. Instinctively, the young summoner jumped away from the strange spikes that wanted to impale her. After the attack was over, the young lady barely had time to recover before something shot from the trees at her. Instinctively, she raised her staff, blocking the heavy blow. There was a loud clang and a sting her shoulder as the metal hit her staff with such a force that she was knocked back. As she stumbled to regain her balance, she saw something traveling into the darkness of the trees. Trembling from the attacks, Yuna took a moment to catch her breath and check herself for injuries. She found a small cut on her from where the sharp blade of her attacker had hit before it disappeared, but other than being shaken up, she was fine. As she calmed herself, she took a step back from the trees and began to move her staff in the motions she used to summon Valefor, her summon of flight. When the large creature landed before her, she petted the large creature on the head, gently in greeting.
“Come my friend. We must find the attacker and stop it,” she whispered to the large creature as she looked into its eyes. With a silent nod, the creature took to the air and silently headed into the trees. Knowing she was safe, Yuna traveled into the trees and darkness. Even though her eyes were well adjusted to the darkness, her sight was not as good as a creature who thrived within darkness. Still, she could kiss shadows and movement. As she slowed her slight jog in the area where Hydria was hiding, she looked around the area for her attacker, holding her staff tightly in her hand as she did so. She was prepared for anything.
Valefor, on the other hand, had landed in the trees and scouted the area. Due to its animalistic nature and its strength in seeing things from a distance, the creature easily spotted the gleam of a sword in the dark. Without making a sound, it swooped towards the gleam, stretching its talons out to attack the hidden being as it got nearer. With any luck, the attacker would be too focused on Yuna to notice the incoming flyer’s attack… __________________________________________________________________

‘Well that was largely unsuccessful,’ the Heartless mused as she glanced at the orb on her blade, noticing it was only a quarter full. She then used those same eyes to peer around the edge of the tree, spotting the woman and now seeing what she could call forth. A massive falcon like creature had appeared, a light chuckle escaping the lips of the Heartless despite her attempt to hold it back, ‘Honestly these humans amaze me… summoning a flying creature when we’re in the middle of a jungle? She’s not all that bright is she?’ she thought as her mind began to race. Despite being associated with creatures that had little more in their mind but satisfying their desires for hearts, Hadria had logic and could reason exactly what her opponent’s battle capabilities were. Seeing as she had summoned a giant creature to the fray, and she used a staff as opposed to something more practical for combat, she probably wasn’t very skilled in melee combat. Not only that but with her current attire she wouldn’t be able to move very well in the jungle, branches and bushes sure to get caught on her clothing if she didn’t tread carefully. Yes the odds were in Hadria’s favor and she was glad that she had darted off into the darkness after her attack since that summoned creature could have easily proved to be troublesome. Regardless, the creature began to move, surely moving in for an attack and planning to take Hadria from behind perhaps thinking she was unaware… well she’d at least act as such. As the creature neared, Hadria would dart off as its attack was made, felling a massive tree with its powerful talons. While the creature had managed to approach silently despite its massive frame, its attack on the other hand was quite the opposite. And so Hadria made a mad dash toward the summoner, adopting the same strategy she had used when fighting in Twilight Town, running low and out of sight. With the advantage of both her approach masked by the crash of that tree, and the cover of night along with her black clothing, the summoner would surely have a hard time spotting her opponent. Yet there was still the problem of her blade gleaming in the moonlight… that was easily solved by holding it along her right side. Indeed, by holding the blade with her left hand as such, her body would block most of the gleam and make it even harder to spot her. Unfortunately it would be an awkward way to hold the blade, limiting her power but sacrifices had to be made to score a debilitating blow on her opponent. Yes because as she approached her with the immense speed she was known for, she would swing her blade after running past Yuna, attacking the back of her knees and attempting to cut deeply into them to make her movement even further limited. Whether the blow was successful or not, Hadria would run off once more, deeper into the jungle and further into the darkness. The beast may be able to spot her in the thicket of the jungle but the summoner was a different story and Hadria was certain that if she was dealt with the beast would leave as well. Indeed she wouldn’t expand any energy toward taking out an over-sized bird, her real opponent was a poor little girl that was in the wrong place at the wrong time. “Cupio tur curor,” (I want your blood) she spoke softly under her breath, her blood starting to boil. Oh how excited she was to be facing another powerful opponent, wishing for nothing more but a long and arduous battle. She wanted to see her blood stain the trees red, she wanted to hear her screams for mercy that would echo throughout the jungle but to no avail… and did she ever want to taste that crimson liquid. Carnage that was the only thought on her mind, a light red hue staining her cheeks as she bit down on her lip and swiftly climbed up in the trees once more. After all, whether the summoner sent her pet to scope out the situation or went herself, the high ground advantage would be most beneficial to Hadria. It gave her time to plot, time to scheme, and time to look over her blade once more, noticing the orb was half full. She was a bit perplexed at the sight but soon realized that the talons she had thought she evaded completely had managed to dig into her back lightly and break the skin. She slammed her back on the tree hard as she waited on a branch that camouflaged her, letting out a gasp of pleasure as the stinging sensation spread across her back. It was delightfully painful for the masochistic demon, wanting to continue slamming her back against the tree but controlling herself as she shivered violently… this was becoming so decadent. “I want you little girl,” she stated, not particularly worried that the summoner would pinpoint her location by sound alone as the words echoed in the jungle, “let me see your blood,”Cruentus Adficio: 1 Light blow against Yuna = 25% (waiting on confirmation for this strike) 1 Light blow taken = 50% total full

Despite her looks or her actions, Yuna was quite capable of moving in her garments even if the branches sought to trip her up or grab a hold of her. As for summoning Valefor, there was logic behind that too. Of her summons, Valefor would be able to keep up with the enemy and also be able to spot the thing in the blinding darkness that surrounded the area. While the passages were narrow here, Yuna knew Valefor was her wisest choice. Anything else might've been a problem. The young woman just hoped that herself and Valefor could hold out against this attacker.
In any case, Yuna stayed in the open watching the shadows carefully as she stayed on guard. At the sound of a crashing tree, Yuna turned just in time to see something darting towards her. It was too fast for words, but by some miracle, she dodge the blow the thing tried to hit her with, but not completely. A slight tear appeared in her skirt as a thin cut appeared on the back of her left leg. While the blow did not hit her completely, the small cut did sting and made it uncomfortable to move and yet Yuna held her ground.
As her eyes scanned the trees, she could hear the creature--no a woman!--speaking from the trees. Yuna’s eyes automatically followed the sound to the higher branches of the tree, but her eyes could see nothing. She took a step back to keep her distance from her attacker...wherever it was.
Valefor, on the other hand, had no problem spotting the woman in the tree once more. Moving from among the ruins of the fallen tree, the creature moved after the shadow. As it got near, the creature seemed to be aiming at nothing as its talons crashed into the branch the woman was on. After attacking the branch, the creature flew downward placing itself between its summoner and the attacker.
Flapping its wings a bit, Valefor charged up a fireball before it swung forward powerfully, letting the ball of fire fly towards the target. If things worked out in the pair's favor, the branch would break under the woman's weight causing her to fall. On her way down, the fire spell would greet her and perhaps do some damage to their fast and sneaky opponent… __________________________________________________________________

Another unsuccessful blow… this was getting a tad annoying. Indeed, while it was vexing to have only scored a light blow, when her orb suddenly filled up just a quarter more the Heartless couldn’t help but let her twisted smile return. She was nearly there; ready to unleash her most powerful attack on her unsuspecting victim, this time not willing to accept anything but total success. And so the planning started, her eyes scanning where her soon to be victim was, her immediate surroundings, the giant and very noisy bird, and even the direction the wind was blowing. Within the moment before aforementioned bird would begin its attack, the plan had been formulated and Hadria was standing on the tree branch now as opposed to merely sitting on it… now for step one. Quickly the Heartless bit down on her lip as she grabbed her blade in the middle, making sure to hold it in such a way to avoid damaging her fingers. Slowly she let the tip slide across her chest, her cheeks tinting red as her hold on her lip released, a small moan escaping her lungs. Her twisted smile returned upon finishing the deed, letting the blade slide down to the hilt before letting her right hand wrap around it. She lifted the blade to her eyes as she saw the orb glow a deep crimson, signifying that it had finally been filled and her execution could finally begin… oh how decadent this was becoming. Regardless, with her attention now off her self-inflicted injury, the Heartless was free to let her eyes roam back to the powerful creature that the girl below had summoned. Despite its attempt at subtlety, the Heartless wasn’t fooled for a moment by the way it pretended to survey the area. After all, she had been spotted within seconds of its call to battle earlier, certain that her presence was already known to the over-sized bird. Furthermore, it was called to do battle and not for any other reason and attempting to trick the tactician that Hadria prided herself as was an exercise in futility. Never the less, the bird soon struck, its talons striking on the branch Hadria had propped herself on as opposed to her. It was odd to say the least, Hadria having felt rather certain that the bird would have attacked her when she had so little way to dodge on the branch but it was of no consequence. Indeed, the branch was thick and sturdy, not giving way immediately, allowing Hadria to slightly alter her plans for the unexpected action. As the bird began to descend, placing itself between Hadria and her target in an attempt to protect the summoner, the demon couldn't help but smirk at the course of action. "That’s cute," the Heartless spat before jumping back and then jumping off the trunk of the tree over the bird… this was step two of her plan. By jumping over the summoned beast, Hadria had bought herself time to avoid its imminent wrath since it would have a hard time turning around with what little space it had in the jungle as well as it already being airborne. From what Hadria had observed of flying creatures, turning wasn't a strong suit of theirs and they could only do so in a curving pattern. Not only that, but if the creature were to attack while Hadria was close to its master (when she landed anyway), she’d threaten her master’s safety as well, something the Heartless would exploit if necessary. With all that in mind, Hadria could safely focus on attacking and she would by gripping the hilt of her blade with both hands tightly, hoping to impale Yuna in the chest with an overhead strike… or at least feint as much. Indeed, while the thought of piercing the summoner’s chest with her katana did sound pleasant, it could be done at a later time and this was merely a set up to get her opponent to dodge. If she dodged in this jungle, it was very likely that she could put her back to a tree, trip over a root, and many other things. All that aside, whether Yuna did attempt to evade or not, the blade would stop mere inches away from where her feet were (or previously were), Hadria quick to follow her opponent if need be. Regardless, her left hand would let go of the hilt as she swung the blade toward Yuna with a right backhanded grip, hoping to slash her stomach open while releasing her most powerful technique. “Cruentus Orbis,” the Heartless would whisper, a crimson mass of energy shooting out of her blade immediately thereafter. Much like in her fight in Twilight Town, Hadria preferred to release this long range attack up close and personal. After all, by doing so she increased the chances of it landing tremendously and could quickly follow up with another blow. Regardless, the crimson mass of energy would immediately circle around the summoner, constricting around her as it tore into her flesh. If successful, the blow would spell the beginning of the end, Hadria certain to follow up by impaling her victim in the chest. If the combo failed on the other hand, the Heartless would do the same regardless, hoping to finally see her opponent’s blood and even better… hear her screams of agony “Let’s paint this jungle red,” she’d whisper in a sultry tone, wanting nothing more but pure and unadulterated carnage. Cruentus Adficio: 1 Light Blow Against Yuna = 25% 1 Light Blow Taken (self-inflicted) = 25% Total = 100% (before Cruentus Orbis)
Cruentus Orbis: Used and 3 post cooldown started… orb is back to 0%
Cruentus Acus: 1 post left for cooldown OOC: Edited to make things a bit more clear. After reading it myself, I realized it was a bit poorly written and needed a clean up. The attack is still the same so it shouldn't affect anything you may have already written. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
