Alex met his knuckles to the door for a second set of repetitious alarms. He knew Tseng was home, and he was probably just being precautious. Hell, it’s what he himself would have done, and he always looked for a way out of extra work. He figured Tseng would open the door at any moment. He hadn’t seen anyone from the Turks since the night of Meteor, when he helped his former comrades evacuate Midgar for Kalm.
When the door finally opened he looked up at Tseng as he saw the amazement in his Director’s eyes. The Director had been equally surprised to let his eyes fall on Alessandro. It’d been years since he’d been on active duty, but Alessandro had come back to the Shin-Ra, finally. He still wasn’t quite sure why he’d done it, but he was definitely back on the enrollment as of this moment. He just didn’t want to dot the I’s and cross the T’s.
”Morning, beautiful!”[/b]
Alex gave his superior a faux wink before he slipped in the door and made his way to a nearby chair. He immediately tipped the chair back and sat his feet on the table in front of him. He did, in fact, turn his head and see another high-ranking Turk in the room, Rude. If he remembered right, the big man was number 3.
”Rude! How’s it hanging?”[/b]
Oh, that’s right![/i] He completely forgot that Tseng had asked him what he was doing in this weird town. He still wasn’t sure himself, but he knew that it had something to do with the black portal he walked right into. Alessandro picked up an old magazine lying on the table before speaking to his former boss.
”Not sure why I’m here, just took a wrong turn at Junon, I guess. I got a good idea I’m not on the Planet anymore though. I’m pretty sure Gaia doesn’t have talking ducks. What brings you to this neck of the woods, boss-man?”[/b]

As Tseng responded to Rude’s comment, the Director’s cut his sentence short as the knocking on the door grabbed his full attention. Rude remained calm as he watched the go to the door with an air of caution.
When Tseng opened the door and was greeted by the voice once more, much clearer this time, Rude found himself mildly shock. He had heard the voice before a while back, but to hear it now was a relief. In any case, when Alessandro came in, the Turk had gotten over his initial shock and had resumed being calm. As Alessandro sat in a chair and placed his feet upon the table, the older Turk moved back slightly to keep himself from getting hit by the other’s foot.
As the former Turk greeted him, Rude’s answer was simple.
“A bit rough. What about you?” he asked as he observed the Turk from behind his shades curious as to how Alex had gotten there and even more curious as to when and if he had taken up his position as a Turk again. If so another ally would definitely improve the situation.
As if to answer his first thought, the Turk began to answer the question posed to him by Tseng at the door. A wrong turn in Junon that led him here? The portals at work once again, perhaps? Rude wouldn’t doubt it. In any case, the Turk became his usual quiet self and resorted to simply listening for the moment.

Tseng was rather acquainted with Alex's antics and the first comment out of his mouth was expected. However, it was dark outside and it wasn't really morning. But it was useless to point this out to Alessandro. Tseng calmly shut and locked the door behind Alessandro before turning the group. It had been a good few years since he had laid his eyes on the Turk. But why was he here now?
A frown became evident on Tseng's face when Alex placed his feet on the table and decided to speak to them rather plainly. He was acting as bad as Reno. It took Alex a moment to respond to the question, but stated he "took a wrong turn at Junon". That was not exactly what he was looking for.
"My question wasn't about how you arrived in the worlds. Everyone's story is practically the same. I asked why you are here. You're not an acting Turk anymore, so there isn't much of a reason." Unless he's simply looking for a familiar face in order to get home. That was completely understandable. Though, Tseng was more curious as to why the former turk was in uniform. But, it wasn't worth asking.
"Also, please take your feet off the table. I'd rather not have Aerith lecture us on cleanliness." Tseng wasn't sure what magazine Alex had picked up, but it was probably something Aerith decided would be interesting to have someone read. So there was no telling the topic of the magazine.
The Director patiently waited for an answer. It wasn't that Alex wasn't welcome in the place, it was the fact that Rude and Tseng were discussing some rather important information and didn't need the distraction.

It honestly felt good to be back in the presence of both friends and allies. Alex knew he had an company in both Tseng and Rude, even if he wasn’t associated with the Turks. He’d originally left the Turks because of a conflict of interest during the conflict with the first AVALANCHE, but, if what he heard was true, Rufus had almost changed his ways after Meteor almost destroyed the world. That left the important question: Could Alex trust the Shin-Ra once more?
”Well, I ran into that pilot from Rocket Town, and he told me you were in the area, so I decided to come take a look-see and say ‘hello’.”[/b]
He hesistated. Alex almost said yes to rejoining the Turks without a moment’s hesitation. His heart was still with the Turks, even though his mind knew Rufus wasn’t exactly the perfect leader Shin-Ra desired. Hell, he remembered the days when he was the mastermind behind AVALANCHE. The one time traitor was now Shin-Ra’s leader, yet Tseng knew that. If he could trust Rufus after that, then couldn’t Apollo?
He quickly removed his feet and sat forward. He sat down the copy of “Incredible Bouquets,” which bored him the moment he opened its pages. He lost all sense of humor and put on his ‘business face.’ Maybe it was time to talk business. Maybe it was time to talk trade. Maybe it was time to talk of returning the Turks.
”About that...I think I should be sticking with those I can trust. I know Helen’s out there; I just ran into her, and I think she’s back to active duty too. It got me thinkin’ maybe I should cross some T’s and dot some I’s. I want back in, Tseng.”[/b]
If he was serious before, it was completely gone now. He leaned back into a more comfortable stance, and looked towards Rude. He still looked as good as he did all those years ago. He’d heard that Reno and Rude had basically become Rufus’s right hand men, but if that was true, where was the President?
”Doin’ good, buddy…”[/b]
He turned back towards Tseng, game face back to the forefront.
”So where is the President these days?”[/b]

As Tseng closed the door and then turned back to the group, Rude could read the curiosity within the Director, but also the slight bit of agitation that came with dealing with a Turk such as Alex or Reno. Being used to Reno’s behavior, the older Turk was a bit more tolerant of the actions; however, as Tseng spoke, Rude remained quiet as he simply listened.
Tseng’s thoughts of how Alex had arrived there were the same as his own. The dark portals were the main cause of people being placed everywhere, so the point of how was a given, but still it was curious as to why Alex wore a Turk uniform. Had he not quite some time ago due to a conflict between him and Shin-Ra? In any case, the question was put on a back burner as the Turk told them that Cid had directed him to them. A bit hard to believe since the man usually hated anything to do with Shin-Ra, but nothing the older Turk was going to argue about.
Rude took note of Alex hesitation and the slight bit of unease he got from the Turk. Even though, the Turk had come to them, he seemed to be unsure of something. A slight mistrust due to the past perhaps? The older Turk thought for a moment and then pushed it aside as Alex removed his feet from the table and became serious for a moment as he sat forward.
He listened as the Turk spoke of being with people he trusted and also of Helen being back on duty again before stating he wanted back in the Turks. An interesting request despite the earlier hesitation. While Rude had no problem with another Turk at their back, he wondered how Tseng would take to it. He briefly looked towards the Director before turning his attention back to Alex, who had gone back to being relaxed once more, telling him he had been doing well before hand. Well at least luck was on his side.... for now. If the ex-Turk was seriously going to return to them, then luck might be just as unkind as it had been to Rude in some cases. Meaning Alex would soon have to face the problem they had with Kadaj.
As if reading his thoughts, the question of where the President was came up. Rude sighed inwardly as he thought how to explain this. Even though Alex was there to help evacuate people from the threat of Meteor, the Turk had never encountered Kadaj and his brothers as far as Rude knew. So how to explain such an issue?

Tseng simply kept his gaze on Alex. There was something on his mind, but Tseng was a bit out of practice with his mind reading on Alex. It had been a few years since the two had worked together, being rusty was to be expected. It would take time to grow back into a routine. However, Tseng didn't want to make a big deal out of it since he was sure the man would not be staying too long.
It took a bit of time till Alex responded to the Director's question. Yet, Rude seemed unsure of the answer. Tseng believed Alex fully. It was like Highwind to do this. Cid didn't want the obligation of having to deal with a Turk, so he sent Alex to Tseng. That way, Tseng had to deal with the issue. This all saved Cid the time and energy and put Tseng on the defensive to figure everything out. So, the Director simply nodded to Alex's statement but waited for the complete reason behind it.
Tseng was unaware of what was going through Alex's mind and it was killing him. The Director simply watched and waited, arms folded patiently across his chest, looking down on Alex's position in the chair. At least he had taken his feet off the table and placed the floral magazine down. Aerith and her flowers, heh. You could take a girl from the slums, but you couldn't take the slums from the girl.
When Alessandro stated his reasoning, his total expression and body language changed and Tseng listened a bit more intently. The Turk began by mentioned that he needed to stick by people he trusted. This implied he wanted to avoid untrustworthy people. Who could he mean? Tseng didn't even think of Rufus as a suspect to that question. The Director had complete and utter trust in the white-suited president. The two had spent four years talking to each other through a wall in the HQ at ShinRa after Rufus had been placed under house arrest. Then, Rufus had helped them save Verdot's life and then spoke on behalf of the Turks to keep them alive after his father had decided to dispose of them. In Tseng's opinion, he was always going to be in debt to the President for that. Plus, he had grown to see that Rufus does have a heart and does care about the Turks. They had become like... friends. Tseng didn't abandon Rufus during Geostigma and he wasn't about to abandon him now.
Alex then continued on to mention running into Helen. A bit of surprise appeared again, but only for a moment. Tseng didn't think that any of the Turk would return after managing to find a way out without needing to die. But it was nice to hear that Rude, Reno, and himself weren't the only Turks around. This might actually be an advantage in catching Kadaj off guard. If only they could locate Elena once more. Tseng was truly worried about the Turk.
When Alessandro asked to return, there was a pause and Tseng began to think about this. Rufus might not be pleased in knowing that the Turks before had never died. Plus, if Rufus ever found out that Tseng knew about it, there was sure to be consequences. Yet, at the same time, Tseng was fully aware that the help could be extremely invaluable. His eyes flashed over to notice that Rude seemed to be thinking it was a good idea. So, it wouldn't hurt to allow it. "I don't have a problem with that at all. However, I can't do anything if Rufus decides he doesn't want as an addition to the Turks since he is in charge. Yet, he's not here now to make that decision. So, acting in his place, I'll allow it."
Rude and Alex continued their little conversation for the moment before Alex brought up the one question that didn't need to be mentioned. Rufus. Tseng frowned a tad in response, but he didn't lose eye contact. Tseng could practically hear Rude's inner sigh. But, it seemed that the Direct would need to explain. "We don't know."
Tseng paused before posing a question, "Do you remember the incident in in Edge during Geostigma? I am sure it gained a bit of publicity." This is where the story would begin.

It was official; Alex was now a reinstated Turk. Although he still couldn’t fully trust the president, Tseng was definitely a good apple. If those two were as close as he’d heard in recent years, then Alessandro knew he would be serving good hands. It also helped when the only people Alex was familiar with were Turks, and here there were two right in front of him. Lucky me.[/b]
Speaking of the President, the entire atmosphere in the room shifted. It didn’t take a genius to figure out that something had happened to the president. The bad thing was, Alex didn’t know whether to jump for joy or grieve, and it would help to know exactly what had happened.
”Who did what, and how much is the ransom?”[/b]
He was joking, of course, but maybe the joke would be the correct answer? Tseng seemed to dodge his question by asking him if he knew the events behind the Bahamut SIN attack in Edge a couple years back. Who hadn’t heard? Sephiroth had supposedly left behind a legacy of himself split into thirds. Jenova had supposedly been behind the Geostigma. They continued to haunt the Planet even from their graves.
”Yeah, that’s where Sephiroth’s little brothers or something, summoned Bahamut SIN to destroy Edge. Isn’t that about the time we started working with AVALANCHE?”[/b]
If there was another spawn of Jenova running around, they were all screwed. Cloud was the only one he’d ever heard about defeating a son of the headless wonder, and if Sephiroth himself was back, then Alex would definitely be sticking his head between his knees and kissing his-
”You don’t mean to tell me that her holiness is back?”[/b]
Instinctively, Alessandro switched his view to outside, as if Jenova herself was preparing to end the Shin-Ra. She was the boogeyman that haunted children’s nightmares. She was Freddy Kreuger preparing to force insomnia. She was the reason Sephiroth killed so many. If Alessandro was right, then Minerva help us all!

As Rude listened to the conversation and saw the surprise and then slightly worry cross Tseng’s face as Alex mentioned Helen, the older Turk wondered if the Director was thinking about, Elena. While most of their group was back, the young lady had disappeared after the incident with Kadaj and the others back in Twilight Town. Since then, the young lady had not shown herself. While it was worrisome to have Elena out there on her own, Rude had a feeling the young lady would keep herself safe until she was able to find them again.
In any case, when Rude met Tseng’s eyes for a moment, the pair seemed to come to an agreement about Alex rejoining the Turks. With Tseng’s approval, the young man was once again a Turk. A good thing for their small team. After the approval, Tseng managed to dodge Alex’s question about Rufus; however, Alex seemed to pick up on the change in attitude the two Turks had when he had brought up the question. While Alex questioned the situation in light hearted manner, pretty much hitting the nail on the head, Rude managed not to react to the slight discomfort the situation brought to him every time he thought of Kadaj holding the president hostage. In any case, Tseng was prepared to explain and directed the conversation to the incident in Edge. It was an event Rude had rather forget, but one that needed to be discussed if Alex were to understand the situation at hand.
Alex answered the question, pretty much brushing the surface of the incident. Rude simply nodded to the first question and then the question of Jenova came up. Following the question, Alex looked towards the window as if he expected the cursed woman to be there.
“It is very possible that she may be back among the living along with Sephiroth,” Rude said not holding back the truth from either of his allies. After all he had encountered, Jenova for a brief moment, but Sephiroth was hinted at by Silv. He had yet to run into the even deadlier silver head.

[I'm sorry, my muse is rather dead today. I have extreme muse for a brief moment. I hope it's enough to go off of.] ------ At Alex's comment, Tseng frowned a bit. The Turk had his the nail on the head and it was a bit of an awkward subject. However, Tseng stood strong to the topic and continued on to answer Alex's questions. "There were three of them, Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo, remnants of Sephiroth. They were actually out for Jenova's head and Rufus had the object in his possession for a few days while they searched for it." He stated, catching Alex up on a bit of the news he missed. "Kadaj, the leader of the remnants... He managed to take Rufus prisoner right in front of me." That bit of regret was obvious on his face. Tseng knew he had messed up and that there was nothing he could do to fix it now. "So we have no idea where Rufus is. But I am rather sure he's alive. My only problem is that Kadaj keeps requesting information from us on things in exchange for keeping the President alive."Rude answered Alex's question about Jenova being alive once more as well. "Rude is right. We have reports that Sephiroth is alive. So it is extremely possible Jenova is alive again as well. Just be sure to watch you back. We don't know who may appear from our past."Tseng paused again to watch Alex's expressions. "We were actually discussing our best course of action before you arrived." There was a pause now. "However, I think we should call it a night and continue this discussion in the morning." The Director then shifted off and returned with more pillows for Alessandro. "I'll talk to Aerith about getting a few more cotts in here."[Exit Thread
