Throughout history many of the greatest warriors began greater conquests to gain their fame and power. This is the beginning of one such conquest.
The mysterious figure stood unmoving for nearly an hour, high above a massive city on the arm of a massive clockhead. It was as if he were waiting for something extraordinary to occur, as if it were to occur any second now.
”Captain Hook! I require your assistance.” [/b] Oddly enough, the one-armed captain was nowhere within sight, but the Masked Man didn’t need to worry. He knew the red suited villain would come to his side. As if his waiting were complete, the Mask lifted his right arm and, immediately, a keyhole appeared on the face of the clock before him. Out from the tip of his right arm, a constant stream of violet energy began pouring into the heart of Neverland.[/blockquote] ----- The Masked Man has attacked Neverland!

The mysterious violet energy continued to stream from the palm of the mysterious Masked Man. What he was doing to the keyhole remained a mystery, but something was changing in the heart of this particular world. The first notable change was within the face of the clock, the very face where the keyhole resided actually changed color from the golden yellow to an eerie blueish-green. The clocktower was next to change, turning into a moss green while the mysterious wave that changed the world spread into the air. The pitch black night sky turned a particularly faded shade of violet and the town below became enshrouded in a light pink mist. Something was coming over Neverland.
Stroud was a fool to ever let Kingdom Hearts escape his grasp. His ego was his undoing, and now I’m forced to take matters into my own hands, which is perfectly fine by me. He was too afraid to fight on the frontlines, and he hid himself in Kingdom Hearts, completely disobeying my orders. So, when I heard that some keyblader was leading a force against him, I ended that pathetic excuse for a Heartless. [/i] Even with the physical changes evident in the nearby atmosphere of the massive clock tower, the mysterious man behind the mask continued to pour the eerie energy into the center of the world. Whatever he wanted done with this world was definitely happening. Now, I know that I can only truly rely upon myself to complete the task at hand. These fools don’t understand the proverbial Pandora’s Box they’ve opened by forcing my own hand upon them. Stroud was weak. If I hadn’t allowed him to obtain Kingdom Hearts, he would have ceased to exist months ago.[/i] The far off islands in the far off utopia within this world also began to change. Grass turned red and the seas turned silver, with the same mysterious violet sky and pink mist throughout. The transformation was nearly complete within this world, and it was nearly time to- ”Interesting, it seems they’ve sent more than just pawns to deal my presence. I smell a Remnant of Sephiroth and a Heartless. Is that a Nobody as well? Maybe this world will prove…enlightening.”[/b] Even with the approaching threats, the Masked Man did not halt his effort to change something within this world. Word of Kadaj’s power had reached his ears, but he still wasn’t worried. He had all the power of Stroud without any of his weaknesses. He was the new power in these worlds.[/blockquote]

That strange power had shown up again. Last time it had been felt was moments after the Leader of the Remnants had left the battle with Terra and his friends against a strange mutated version of that Stroud fellow. A pity that Kadaj had left to pursue one of the other Heartless Horsemen, Valerius. There was something about that orange haired Heartless that just ticked the silver-haired youth off. Well, not anymore he wasn't. The mysterious power that arrived and supposed defeated Stroud wasn't the only one powerful enough to take out one of the Heartless Horsemen. Yazoo, his dearest brother and Kadaj himself possessed that same strength. Yet the curiosity never died down. The urge to find whoever this 'Masked Man' the rumours spoke about was, were too great to ignore. So while going about his own business tracking down clues to obtaining the X-Blade, he also kept open his senses to make sure he could find and follow this strange presence. Patience is a virtue and sure enough, here he... she... it, was. A strange world to be discovered in however, but the Remnant could care less.
The subtle fluttering of feathers went unheard over the noises that this Masked Man were making. That strange purple beam was certainly cause for alarm if the Remnant were one of the Light, but he didn't care what he was doing. This world meant nothing to the Remnant. A few of the black angel feathers from the silver-haired youth's arrival in this world may have have fluttered down before eyes of the Masked Man, but Kadaj's voice would have been enough to alert him to his presence. "So... the Masked Man actually wears a mask? Who'd have thunk it?" Kadaj jeered as he crouched down upon the tip of the hour hand of the massive clock face, his bright turquoise eyes watching the actions of the figure below him curiously. The way the clock tower as well as the surrounding city begun to change was certainly intriguing. Several questions entered the Remnant's head as he waited in silence for a moment, continuing to watch what was going on. Soon enough, he stood upright and tiled his head, scratching at scalp lightly with gloved fingers. "What's going on here then? Redecorating?" Mused the youth as he folded his arms across his chest with the creaking of tightening leather.
So that's what it was? The Masked Man was an exterior designer? What a let down. And here the silver-haired youth was expecting to meet someone who might actually be stronger then he was in combat. Though appearances can be deceiving and no matter what happened, the Remnant constantly kept his guard up. Kadaj knew nothing about this person. How he walked, how he fought, how he drank tea. Caution was definitely at the front of the Remnant's mind. While the thought of falling from this clock tower didn't faze him at all, if this Masked Man somehow had the ability to fly, melee combat would certainly be difficult. Then again, there was another hostile presence in the area whom could possibly be an ally of this fellow below him. Interesting indeed. "So you defeated Stroud, eh? About time someone showed him how to fight. I'd have done it myself if I didn't have the opportunity to kill Valerius." Kadaj spoke up, jumping down from the hour hand and landing upon the minute hand with grace. Turning his head to peer at the keyhole within the clock face, as well as getting a much closer look at whatever this violet beam was, Kadaj cocked an eyebrow as he looked back towards Masked Man, wondering if he'd answer any of his previous questions.

Pirates... one didn't see much of them these days did they? Indeed, pirates were hard to find, what with technology constantly improving and what not, what was the point of being one? Travel by ship wasn't the only option anymore and typically was only used when transporting a large amount of goods. While this was true, the boats could be heavily guarded and thus being a pirate wasn't exactly profitable (Samalian pirates excluded). Thus one could reasonably assume that they'd never meet one throughout their entire life. Yes, one could reasonably assume this but if they happened to be in London on the night a certain Masked Man had attacked, then they'd be gravely mistaken.
"Blast it, Mr. Smee! We're going to be late to our own party!" a rather tall man would exclaim that was aboard a vessel normally used to traverse the seas. Yes that would be another thing one would certainly be quite surprised to see on that night, a giant ship right now flying through the air as if the sky were the sea it was made to travel. A strange golden dust floated around the ship, perhaps that being what kept it up but whether it was or not, the fact of the matter was there was a giant ship now headed toward the clocktower quite hastily.
"Oh but, c-captn, after the storm we made up the lost time..." the short and stubby man to his side responded, the taller of the two scoffing at the notion, "Dry up that drivel, Smee!" he responded, as he peered toward the clocktower. In the distance he could see what was happening, the masked man he had been recently acquainted with was doing his thing, taking over the world and all that business with another man appearing soon after. He seemed like quite the odd fellow, hair rather silver and the pirate pondered for but a moment if the hair was dyed or natural. Yet he only gave it a moment's thought, he had more important things to deal with like giving his cohort orders.
"Load the cannons, Mr. Smee!" he declared, Mr. Smee nodding his head as he gave the usual "Aye aye" response and moved onto perform his duties. Meanwhile the captain of this vessel began to measure the distance, taking into account the wind and all other variables that would interfere with his shot. Upon factoring them all in and giving express directions to his first mate, he would post his foot upon the edge of the boat, pointing his cutlass forward as he grinned widely.
"Steady... steady.... FIAAARRRRR!"
OOC: Cannon Barrage - Captain Hook fires several cannon balls at the target that can hit multiple targets if more than one enemy is in the area he aims at.

Now, of course not everybody around here knows exactly what the score is. Some of us just happen to be there when situations like these rear their ugly heads. For instance, at the time of the man with the obscured visage making his move, please direct your attentions...downward. Over there, past some of the buildings, yet still within eyeshot of the clock tower... Right there. Just a young man walking the street, a somewhat undertall red-head with a maroon hooded sweater and black jeans on. No harm, no foul...right? Wrong. As soon as the unearthly energies were set in motion, he stopped in mid-stride...and his head just turned that direction, in a hauntingly-slow fashion. "Hello... What's this?"When you are a Heartless, you can't help but know when the Keyhole is being messed with. It was something that they could all feel, just as they could seek the heart or seek out each other. And this boy? Heartless, of course. Roy Taban...or rather what remained of him after the explosion. He noted the passing of a strange purple energy...and then the town altering around him. Though...since he was an unnatural being and not OF this world anyway...he was unaffected. He looked up again to find that there was a masked figure or something up there, and that he was being confronted by... Well now, he was just brimming with darkness, wasn't he? Offhand, he would've said the silver-hair was human...sort of. Roy was about to join the party when...a shadow fell across the town. He looked up to find... A SHIP?!"What."Pirate ship! Overhead! There was a large wooden vessel just floating above, defying such laws as gravity and sense, forcing Roy to realize that in no way...was he in Kansas anymore. Not that he'd ever been to Kansas. So, there was this flying ship over there, and the direction it was moving and the way the cannons were facing - because you CAN see that from underneath it - indicated...oh my. This was shaping up to be a rather interesting day. It seemed as though that ship, those two on the tower, and today's events were all connected. Very well... Roy snapped his fingers, and soon darkness surrounded him. As the cannons fired on their target, the pirate vessel would gain an interloper. The Corridor of Darkness dropped him in their midst, as his feet struck deck right next to the main mast! "Stand and deliver!"He had come to pirate the pirates, an act of villainy against villains. Or perhaps that made him a Rogue. Roy was now in his proper Heartless form, all black and kevlar-y attire and everything, plus he was using the highwayman mask he'd used in the Gaia caper as an 'eyepatch' over the left eye...using the hole in it to see through. Nevertheless, he had stolen aboard, this was piracy, and here...was his ultimatum. "Give me your gold, your guns, your swords, and every worldy object you value, or..."And now, the clawed metal fist of his right arm swung out to tear a sizable chunk from the wooden mast of the ship, followed by the Heartless being all a'grin with those in his company now. "...I will scuttle your ship! HAH HAH HAR HAR HAR!!!"Likely, the pirate crew and captain may not be aware that he could do it. It was even possible that, despite his appearance, they didn't even know he was a Heartless...unless someone saw the hole in his back. But one thing was for certain. The man who could topple your mast was not to be taken lightly! -------------------------------- Corridor of Darkness - Used this turn to get up to the ship. One post Cooldown.

The Black Wind swirled and warped, an invisible maelstrom that swept in from realms unknowable and plunged into the alleyways and across the rooftops of venerable London, wrapping the city entire in an invisible blanket of fear as the Masked Man did his work. This was death's herald, the siren-call zephyr of suffering and anguish that mocked hope and looked down upon heroism with a disdainful gaze. Even those mortals who knew not its whispers would feel its passing as a wordless dread in the pit of their minds... ...and those who knew it well could follow it anywhere, even from the depths of oblivion. As the world was bent to the Masked Man's whims a gout of darkness appeared suddenly atop a nearby roof, roiling like a thing alive and pulsing with an inner light as it grew. Then, like a bubble popping, the darkness ruptured and spat out a tall, pale-skinned man in the attire of a warlock. Magus hit the ground and rolled, coming up in a crouch; his first attempt to forge passage through the endless dark and into the worlds beyond had been a rough-shod thing... but, at last, he had arrived somewhere. The spell needed work, clearly, but it was a start. Rising to his feet, it was not the strange distortions of the world-scape, the hovering Jolly Roger, or the light of the Masked Man's unnatural energies that first drew his attention; rather, something far more familiar. The Black Wind howled in his ears. Even with the night air calm and placcid the Nobody's nightshade cape and azure mane whipped and twirled as if caught in a maelstrom; in his mind he could hear the thousand whispers and feel the reaper's gale whirl around his heart-stripped soul. The mage's gaze went from one unnatural sight to another, finally fixing on the beam of power and the strange figure emitting it -- this, then, was what had drawn the winds of death to this place. But was it impending cataclysm... or battle? The sound of wood splintering drifted over from the pirate ship, suggesting to Magus that the latter was a genuine possibility. Somehow he had stepped into the middle of something quite serious... and, as he began to think on it, he wondered if this might not be some dark providence. Perhaps Terra, the one "Ansem" had directed him against, was mixed up with events here? If nothing else, he mused while adjusting the fit of his gloves, this was a start. And as the clock tower seemed the center of attention. Wordlessly, the energies of a spell began to build on the wizard's fingertips, power responding to will and taking shape as a dozen tiny arcs of electricity racing up and down the length of his leather-clad digits. He wouldn't normally consider starting fights with absolute strangers, no matter what they were doing, but it was fairly clear that the masked persona was a power to be reckoned with, one that apparently threatened this whole world. He wouldn't have the time to make the dark transit spell work properly if this stranger warped or destroyed everything, and self-preservation was reason enough to fight. Clenching his fist and gathering the arcane power to a single point, Magus thrust his hand palm-open towards the Masked Man, sending a bright bolt of electricity flying off at lightning speeds. The proverbial gauntlet had been thrown down. [/i] - 1 post cooldown][/ul]

Tapping his leather clad boot a few times upon the metallic edge of the minute hand of which he stood, the silver-haired youth crossed his arms over his chest as he allowed a smirk to remain plastered across his face. He eagerly wanted to see what this Masked Man could do, for if he could defeat Stroud nigh-on instantly, it was certainly going to make for a very exciting endeavor for the leader of the Remnants. The best way to gain strength was by fighting someone stronger then yourself. Of course, whoever this Masked Man was might simply be all talk and a coward, falling to the first blow of Kadaj's Souba. Maybe Stroud allowed himself to be defeated so easily so everyone would be cautious about who this masked fellow was? The silver-haired youth didn't care and the longer this silence continued between them both, the more irritated the Remnant was growing. Though the arrival of three new presences wasn't enough to tear his attention away from the Masked Man, it did take an attack from one of the newcomers to make the Remnant move.
Though the nighttime had graced the battlefield of this massive city, the flare of ignited gunpowder were as clear as water to see upon the backdrop of the midnight sky. The sound of cannon fire reached the Remnant's ears that was accompanied by what sounded like a swiftly approaching object. Side stepping across the minute hand towards the massive roman numeral of 'III', Kadaj smirked as he watched a cannonball smashed through the clock face right where he just stood. Leaving behind a small hole as the tinkling of glass and clanking of metal objects rattled and echoed within the insides of the clock tower, the eyes of the silver-haired youth turned to gaze upon the incoming pirate ship, magically sailing through the air with the aid of some strange golden glow. Odd. Several other cannon balls began zooming towards the clock tower, all of them apparently being aimed for Kadaj. Turning, the youth wearing black leather dashed off in the direction the minute hand pointed, before leaping off the tip as more cannonballs crashed through the face of the clock behind him. Sailing through the air, Kadaj extended an arm as he caught the wrist of a gargoyle perched upon the tower, using the momentum of the jump to flip himself up, around and onto the back of the gargoyle.
From here, the Remnant Leader peered towards where the pirate ship was when it had fired it's cannons and noticed that an additional crew member had stowed aboard. He wasn't dressed like any of the other pirates on deck, or were those Heartless? The ship was too far away to be certain but the matter of the fact remained that someone had joined this battle on the Remnant's side. Well, that was appreciated. Fighting the Masked Man whom supposed had greater strength the Heartless Horsemen as well as fending off an attacking pirate all on your own might be difficult, even for Kadaj. However the twinkling of a spell off in the distance didn't go unnoticed by Kadaj's sharp eyes. Peering away from flying shop, bright turquoise eyes started to glow as Kadaj caught sight of an incoming attack. The crackling of electricity and the sudden gain of static within the air were clear tale signs of a lightning based spell, though as the attack that seemed to have come from a pale skinned male wearing a cape drew nearer, it's trajectory seemed to signal that it wasn't aimed for Kadaj himself but for the Masked Man instead. Well well, two allies had appeared? From his position crouched upon the back of the stone gargoyle, Kadaj watched as the spell cast from the caped male smashed into the clock face, spreading it's electrical charge across the surface of the large circular clock. Though as the dust cleared and the falling shards of glass disappeared down into the purple mist below, Kadaj's brow tightened as his eyes narrowed, a scowl crossing his face as the Masked Man had seemingly been destroyed entirely by that spell.
What an utter disappointment.
This guy was supposed to be tough and here he was, killed by one single sneak attack spell to the back. How pathetic... and to think that some stranger had defeated the Masked Man before the Remnant Leader even had a chance to see what he could do?? The nerve!! Obviously whoever the spell caster was, must have had a death wish to steal the silver-haired youth's prey, and it was a death wish that Kadaj decided he'd grant. Snorting with disappointment, there was still the pirate ship to destroy and that thing firing cannon balls at him while confronting the man in the cape, would simply become annoying. Getting to his feet and placing a hand upon his neck, Kadaj tilted his head off to one side until a satisfying 'crack' echoed from his neck. Grinning and shaking himself off, the Remnant Leader vanished in a cluster of black feathers, using the Angel Teleportation ability to traverse the sky and appear on the deck of the flying ship, revealing himself to the crew, captain and stowaway as he emerged from second cluster of black feathers.
The main act for the evening had left the show early, so now it was time to clean up the trash before heading home. Such a disappointing day this had turned out to be.
