Obviously it was going to take a lot more effort to take the bigger one down. He looked down toward the smaller heartless, sure they were easier to defeat but still an annoyance to deal with since it still took energy to deal with them. He noticed two quickly coming at him, the young keyblader taking up his blade ready to defend himself until suddenly Xehanort's figure appeared before him, again with that crazy speed of his, or was it something else. Though with quick motions of his keyblade he easily handled the two Neo Shadows that were coming at him. "I could have handled them," Night found himself grumbling to the old man, he didn't really care for being saved, it made him feel weak.
Though he was a bit surprised by his words of advice to him. It was odd really, first they battled one another, yet now here they were fighting together to take on these heartless. He took a moment to think of his words, pondering about them not finding them exactly true. The dark power he used belonged to his Spirit of Darkness not himself. He was pretty much using borrowed power this whole time in both forms. "R-right I'll keep that in mind," he replied as he took a moment to focus to keep his dark spirit under control.
Night then focused his attention on the winged keyblader as she fought, looking at the flaming wolf she had created in order to aid her in battle as she took care of the Neo Heartless that came at her with ease. Though as new heartless were summoned by the fist of this Dark Follower the youngest knew something had to be done quickly. After Selena and her wolf attacked Night charged forward taking about three steps before jumping up, his body engulfed in a dark aura as he used his Nulvoid Velocity to ram the heartless in the back with a hard blow, afterward pushing off the heartless and into the air before spinning his body to gain more momentum as he was coming down to try to aim a downward slash at the large heartless' right shoulder before landing back behind it.

[[OOC: My sincerest apologies I haven't gotten to this sooner ]] As the battle raged on towards it's finale, Master Xehanort watched with the keenest attention to detail in regards to both Apprentice's techniques in combat. They were both in possession of skill truly beyond their years, and retained power that could even rival the fortitude of Ventus in his best days. In the opinion of the elderly Keyblade Master, both still required a sufficient amount of training, which would in turn further hone and empower both prosperous youths to become a pair of very powerful Masters. Only time would tell whether his estimations would prove correct or not, though for the moment at hand Xehanort continued to examine their test. He remained poised as he had when the Neoshadows were felled, and watched on as both Selena and Night as they bombarded the Dark Follower with more power. The resulting blows from both Wolf's Fang and Nulvoid Velocity were enough to cause the massive Heartless to stumble, causing it's balance to be lost with the momentum as it fell to the ground. A flash of light emitted from Xehanort's Keyblade as it vanished, and for a moment while the Dark Follower staggered, the Dark Master watched on with the keenest amount of interest. With a violent impact the massive beast collided with the sand in a large thud, sending a great abundance of sand and darkness into the air, creating a makeshift fog that would temporarily blind those closest to it. The heat of battle slowly came to a close as the darkness began to settle, disappearing into nothingness as it's accompanying cloud of sand began to rejoin the grains upon the shore. When all other noises had finally begun to subside, a soft orchestra of applause began to emit from where the old man still stood. As the air cleared, Selena and Night would be able to see that Xehanort stood apart from them, clapping in approval of their choice of handling the Heartless.
"A most impressive display of skill, young ones. If it weren't for his fear of the Darkness, I dare say that even Master Eraqus would be proud of your efforts here this night." began Master Xehanort as he dropped his hands to interlock behind his back again, then took a slow stride forward to approach the pair again. The moonlit beach provided comfort for those who had just endured another Heartless attack, yet it held it's own form of solace and comfort in the silence that had overtaken it. In truth it was a moment shy of being a true bliss, for even the most peaceful of surroundings could harbor the evillest of wills in the face of hostility. Master Xehanort regarded Selena with a solemn nod, then gave Night one just as appropriate. It was a pity that Eraqus would seek to hinder and weed out such power from those he would call 'Apprentice', for if they were to let go of their fear, to take control of their Darkness, they would never face something so trivial as defeat ever again. A true shame that his old friend had already done a number on them though, for Xehanort could already sense in their hearts the hesitation that would only birth their greatest weakness. It was a small affliction that needed to be remedied with haste, for if it remained ignored, it could only lead to the demise of two very promising warriors. Xehanort knew that the silver haired man was not to be taken lightly, for he himself still sought the X-Blade as well, and as he knew Eraqus, such individuals seeking the weapon were never underestimated. If they were, then they were now residing in the Keyblade Graveyard.
"However it has come to my attention that both of you lack the sufficient training required, that of which I am willing to provide." began the old man, nodding once more before continuing. "I offer this chance to you as a service, simply as a means to prepare you for what lies ahead, and to broaden your horizons. In return you shall grow strong beyond your imagination, and obtain knowledge of your Keyblade that may save your very lives." spoke Master Xehanort as he turned to the left briefly, waved a free hand, then returned his gaze to the pair as another Corridor of Darkness appeared behind him. "In life, and in any journey, all paths eventually lead to a crossroads. There are many roads to take, and many options to undertake, however there remains a universal constant to all of this. There is always a choice to be made. One that may determine the outcome of many fates and destinies alike. Behind me is a path back to Master Eraqus, and the beginning of the next road to traverse. He will not be able to offer you what I can. If this is your choice, then you may leave now." The proposition was simple, to go with Eraqus and remain ignorant to true power, or to accompany Xehanort to his next destination and obtain the wisdom of the Keyblade required of a Master. He would be willing to offer both of them all he had offered Vanitas, save for his unquestioned trust in his Apprentice, and would bestow upon them the knowledge needed to vanquish the silver haired man. All that remained was the choice; one that could very well shape the destinies of everyone who held a Keyblade. After the Heartless was defeated, 'Artemis' flew down to gently land on the ground despite the protest of her sore shins, and carefully leaned against her keyblade for support while her crimson-flamed companion walked over to her. Perhaps it was a trick of the light from the flames the wolf emitted, but it seemed that the dark angel was smiling down at the wild creature as she crouched down to pet the wolf's head, and kindly whispered a 'Thank you, friend.' to its pricked-up ear before it faded from sight when it threw its head up to the starry sky with a mournful howl.
The winged warrior carefully stood up again as her ears heard the claps from the dark keyblade master and glanced over to his general direction as he praised her and Night for their display. Having forgotten her previous hostility toward the man, the dark angel politely bowed out of respect. "Thank you, Master." answered 'Artemis' calmly, though she did feel a small bloom of pride grow inside her heart.
However, the dark angel was surprised when she listened to Master Xehanort's proposal to train both her and Night if they should accept his offer. The winged woman briefly closed her silver eyes in deep thought. The dark angel had wielded her own Heartsickness keyblade for a whole decade; and with the exception of her keyblade's poison ability, she knew little to nothing about her own weapon. Perhaps it can save more than my own life...[/i] mused Selena sadly, the memories of her younger twin sister temporarily invading her mind before she pushed them back to their special corner of her armored heart. The lonely angel was determined to protect her sister in whatever way she can; and if this man could offer the knowledge and power she needed, then perhaps becoming apprenticed isn't such a bad idea after all.
'Artemis' reopened her eyes to see Xehanort in front of them both with the corridor of darkness behind him and proposed that they may either return to Master Eraqus, someone she had only met once and that was at the Mark, and leave; or stay to accept his proposal. The dark angel didn't budge from her spot on the moonlit beach and smirked. "I accept your proposal, Master Xehanort."answered the dark angel smoothly, her own ultimatum made up and glanced over at Night with slight curiosity in his own choice.

Part of him feeling slightly guilty since he knew that these heartless were once people but there didn't seem to be much of a choice in this matter. Once the heartless disbursed into a dark fog that covered the area. Night covering his eyes to make sure nothing blew into them. Ears perking up under his armor when he began to hear some clapping. Night looking into the direction of the old man as things began to clear up, and the moon shed it's light on the world. "Fearing the darkness?" Night found himself questioning with a slightly questionable look in his eyes when he mentioned the master being afraid of it. Having trained with him for a short while that one day he didn't seem to be afraid of it. Sure it was obvious that he leaned toward the light more than the darkness, but many would wouldn't they? Well most would, others like this old many were very different. He looked toward the girl as she thanked Xehanort for his praise. Something Night didn't have any intentions in doing. To him the question about whether to be cautious around him was still up their in his opinion despite his help in taking out the heartless. Were things different now then they were back in Neverland?
Though it seemed that way when suddenly the old man offered a chance on training with him. Night's eyes slightly wide in surprise at the offer. This definitely wasn't anything he was expecting from him. However what he was offering seemed nice, more knowledge of the keyblade, the chance to become stronger, to be able to defend himself from what was to come. After all if he ended up fighting that silver haired man again he would like to be prepared. Though this whole thing reminded him of his training with Eraqus, about his whole question about someone trusting coming and powering a chance for power. And though he wanted it to grow stronger he still needed to keep in mind his words. The young keyblader's thoughts were interrupted when the old keymaster summoned up a portal of darkness that, according to him, would lead back to Eraqus. And his offer would end there. Problem was he just wasn't sure what to do, he looked over at the winged girl as she seemed to make up her mind quite quickly about accepting training from him. Something Night really couldn't bring him self to do so quickly.
Should he stay and accept this training he offered? Or just go back to Eraqus? Though to him there was a problem with both of them. With Eraqus he didn't really teach him much, sure he answered some questions and such, but other than a quick battle he didn't really offer him anything before just telling him to go out into the worlds and try to get stronger. He would admit it helped sure, but it wasn't anything compared to having someone there to help. Heck he wasn't even sure if the guy could provide better training, but if he did it would be a lot more helpful rather than just leaving a student to go out on their own and learn. He was still very new with the keyblade, and well fighting in general having only starting to learn to fight just barely a year ago. The only reason he had the skill he had now was because of the knowledge his spirits already possessed.
However with Xehanort he just honestly couldn't bring himself to trust him at all. After battling with him in Neverland his only real interest seemed to be with the darkness. And what of that other kid Vanitas? Were they still working together on things? Though there was one big difference between the two masters that effect his decision in this strongly. The very fact that Xehanort could actually help him with getting control of the darkness he controlled. As fine as a teacher he sure Eraqus was he knew for a fact that he couldn't help him get his darkness under control. He was a warrior of light, and that was all it seemed like he knew how to use. But Night didn't have the luxury, he was forced to change his style from light and dark depending on the spirit he used in the situation he was in. "I would like the training as well," he had finally answered not making a move toward the portal despite having the urge to do so.

The Dark Master's eyes closed slowly, allowing a smirk to creep over his lips as the Corridor of Darkness closed behind him; a metaphoric means of their path telling the two that they had chosen their fate. Indeed it would be a dark and mysterious road that lay in wait ahead, yet Xehanort had faith in his newest prospects, and held the confidence in them that they would reach the road's end in tact. Whether or not their true potential would shine in the times soon to come though, that was an entirely different matter altogether. It remained irrelevant to the current situation, however Xehanort was already beginning to ponder his means in which to train this pair, how best to draw out and make use of their inner darkness. It was solely up to him to provide them the experience they required to learn from, as well as the advice from the bosom of wisdom. Vanitas remained occupied in seeking out a suitable heart of pure light, one that would be able to sufficiently serve as Vetnus' replacement, so he could provide the Master with more use than already given. Perhaps if his first search came to no avail, then an Apprentice duel would surely appease the Unversed creator's boredom. Only time would tell though. Braig, or rather Xigbar, was also preoccupied, so the sparring lessons would be left up to himself.
Alas there was still more work to be done, and Xehanort did not possess the free time necessary to begin the pair's tutelage this night, no for their remained but a few more tasks he required of himself to uptake and complete to provide Vanitas with a suitable distraction to work behind. It remained aware to the Dark Master that there were several key strongholds of the Light that remained in the Dark's control; those of which were direly necessary to balance out the sides once more, perfecting the equation so that it would be sufficiently prepared to be cast back into the heart of chaos. His first stop after this world would begin to shape the war to come, and ultimately force the one winged man's hand, giving Xehanort a better perspective on what he has to work against. There was much going on in the ever calculative, ever evolving spectrum mind of Xehanort, yet he felt it was dire to address his two newest pupils to be so that they weren't left in the dark; a rare occurrence in which such a saying was truly worse for one's own being.
Sienna eyes slowly opened as he continued to remained rooted to his spot in the sand, taking the time to examine the physical and noteworthy features of both Night and Selena, whom remained nameless even to this moment. For his lack of time, Master Xehanort felt that some necessary instructions needed to be given, and from there he would continue this training once he had finished his prior obligations. "A wise choice the both of you have made. Yet there are some prior obligations that call my attention elsewhere, so you will begin your training when I return." began the old man, taking a stride to walk between the pair past them, keeping his back to them as he regarded the Paopu Tree. He could not fathom how long it had been since he had sat underneath that very tree, standing there as a lone, solemn guardian to the tiny island. However Master Xehanort knew that the amount was vast in quantity, but had he not spent every one of those years since then in pursuit of his life's greatest ambition? The simple truth was that yes, he had, and did not hold any regrets towards any of his actions. There had been no turning back from the moment he had left these shores, and such would be the case for the pair of soon to be Keyblade Apprentices that now wished to be trained by him. The unfathomable power of Kingdom Hearts only seemed closer to him now, even here in this moment of prolonged silence beneath a glimmering audience of worlds, casting their disguised gaze upon these lonely islands as stars burning above.
"For now given the severity of the circumstances, you will both remain together until I come for you. Make for Twilight Town and remain there. You may consider this as the beginning of your training if you wish, to understand the principle of patience, and how it is a necessary virtue in becoming a Master." began Master Xehanort, speaking in a tone slow enough so that they would both hear and understand him without hindrance or confusion to provoke any unnecessary questions; in short, how he would have given a task to Vanitas. Already he was beginning to enforce the same mannerisms upon them, as he would his other Apprentice, for if they so sought the training he was willing to provide, then they would abide by the customs and traditions that came with it. "Do you understand?" he added on for confirmation, so that he would know that they were aware and certain about their assignment. If this was the case, then he would begin to consider whether or not to provide them with another Corridor to Twilight Town. Indeed this trip to his home world was proving to be more beneficial than he had first anticipated. Cool Downs ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dark Thundaga - 1 post

Selena returned her icy gaze to the dark keyblade master after Night accepted his proposal and briefly wondered for a few moments on how this would affect her fighting ability. After the battle with Stroud, the dark angel had strangely felt stronger despite the fact that she knew that she had been close to falling over from fatigue when she had first arrived to the island. It was as if a new door, a new power, was unlocked inside her Heart for her to use that was just waiting to be tapped into and Selena didn't know if it could be used for the better.
Yet the lone angel found herself shaking her head at Night's question about fearing the darkness because to her, it was ridiculous to fear the dark. When Selena had embraced the darkness in her heart, she had never been afraid of the darkness. If anything, the winged keybearer was afraid of her own power of Heart's Blood due to her past experiences, of the dangerous potential it held, and of the childish stories of the 'Nightmare' that her mother had told her and warned her to ensure that she would never venture into the Europa Mountains. Also in a strange way, the dark angel was afraid to trust the people she had met, even Master Xehanort and Night, and would most likely never trust anyone completely.
As Master Xehanort walked past between them, 'Artemis' couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed at his 'lack of time' to train the both of them but kept her eye on him. Although quick to accept his offer to train her, the lone angel still did not trust him but she was stunned at his instruction for Night and herself to 'stick together' at Twilight Town until his return. I'm not a babysitter... mentally fumes Selena as she allows a frown to form on her face, but slowly nods in reluctant agreement, "Yes, I understand, Master Xehanort."
Not looking at the dark keyblade master, 'Artemis' stretches her hand in front of her and in front of her, opens a Corridor of Darkness that barely touches the tips of her fingers. The lone angel glanced at Night and briefly motions him to follow her before exiting through the Corridor to Twilight Town herself.

Thus their path to get out of this deal was sealed and now he felt stuck with the hesitant decision he made. The young teen still unsure if what he decided was the best choice. Honestly this was a kind of decision he left needed some time to think about not just some on the spot thing. Though part of him began to wonder that if they didn't like the way he was teaching them if they could just quit his training. He sighed slightly to himself 'Training with him couldn't be that bad,' he tried to assure himself. Doing what he could to make himself believe that the decision he made was the right one. The keyblade looked toward the old man as he now spoke, his eyes narrowing lightly about their so called 'wise choice' but stood silent as he continued. Xehanort mentioning that he had prior engagements which to him at least was goof. A large part of him seeming grateful that he had other things since now maybe he could have a bit more time about thinking this whole deal over. Wondering if it really was the smart thing to do, or maybe even looking into someone else that could use the Darkness to help him out rather than this man. Though the more he thought about that part the more hopeless it kinda of seemed since he would also need that person to be a keyblader so he could learn more about the weapon. He listened closely to the master's new orders as he told them to wait for him in Twilight Town for him together. It seemed simple enough, though hanging out with the winged keyblader. The whole wing thing still kind of creeping him out a bit, "Yes....... sir" he replied with a light pause having taken that moment to think about what to call him since the 'master' title was still something he wanted to avoid. Night looking to his side as Selena created a portal similar to that of Xehanort's, blinking in slight confusion, could anyone that used the darkness do that? Watching as Selena moved in the boy seemed slightly hesitant, crimson eyes giving his new teacher one last questionable look before entering as well. To Twilight Town to await the training that would hopefully help him.

Master Xehanort remained silent as the youthful pair chose to abide by his instructions, and then timely made their exit through Selena's Corridor of Darkness. He was truly pleased with the results of this impromptu encounter, a meeting that had only occurred by chance. A snow white glove wandered down to the satchel that remained fastened to his belt line, slowly caressing the items he had placed inside prior to the fall of Twilight. The power of Darkness in itself was very mysterious, even intimidating when it's true power could not be fathomed by those who remained ignorant to it's ways. Though despite this truth, it also held an enticing intrigue to those who sought to grow stronger, whether to seek one's own ambitions or to simply protect others. Master Xehanort was a man who knew fully well about such allure to the element, and it was one of the very reasons he had set out to seek it's secrets, for no man without power could ever hope to alter and remake the world as he saw fit. He was no dreamer, but a man in search of a vision, one whom desired to make his own as real as anyone he had met.
A wicked smirk spread across the face of the elderly Keyblade Master as the Corridor disappeared from sight, followed by a sinister chuckle that was birthed from the very root of evil, Xehanort's powerful darkened heart. The silver haired man was still a concern to him, as was whatever Eraqus' pawns were up to for the time being, but they all seemed to dwindle in size and formidably as he continued to ponder the recently transpired events. His forces were growing steadily, for even now with the addition of this pair of trainees, Xehanort's plans were coming closer and closer to fruition. The winged girl and Night would surely become a powerful duo, and in Xehanort's opinion, would greatly assist Vanitas in any strife against the forces of Light. The hopes and desires of those who fought for good would soon fade, and crumble before the might of his new Keyblade battalion. Once the pair was suitably trained, their Darkness would be nigh impossible to hold back, for the elderly man sought to encourage them both to tap into the very core of the element.
They were both strong, and he held no fears that it could possibly destroy them. Unlike Ventus these two possessed much stronger hearts, especially in regards of Night. They would indeed make powerful warriors to serve the Dark Master, but they would also create much more powerful splits should their hearts require a division. The thought occurred to Xehanort, about splitting the hearts of both these Apprentices upon their garnering of the title of Master, should they ever see such a feat accomplished. In turn he would have not three, but five warriors capable of wielding a Keyblade, and would ultimately have extra resources to form the X-Blade once more. While Vanitas searched tirelessly for a Heart of Pure Light, Xehanort was sure that he would still provide results most beneficial. One thing remained certain though, and that was that Eraqus suspected nothing when it came to his old friend, and after their conversation at the Crossroads, Xehanort remained sure that his treasonous acts were being overlooked. The one winged devil had garnered all of Eraqus' concerns, and a sense of trust had been placed within Xehanort himself. It would be doubtless that the Master of Light's Apprentices would not share such similar feelings, but they were irrelevant in the entire spectrum of all this, and naught but liabilities to be snuffed out.
With a final nod of satisfaction to the result of his travel back to Destiny Islands, Master Xehanort allowed the Darkness to overtake him, and was soon gone from the world by way of a final Corridor of Darkness.
Master Xehanort has absconded. The thread is now over. [/center]
