It had been awhile since he just rested. No trying to battle some baddies trying to put this world into darkness, or just torment people. Or stumbling into worlds where everything is just so chaotic, and different. Sure this world was still very different from what he was used to back to his home world from what he saw back on the main islands. But then he noticed this smaller one, traveling here to see it pretty much deserted. Which for him was nice, well it looked like there were some people who came here from what he could tell of the tree house and such, but at least whoever came here wasn't there now. It gave Night the time to just relax and have no real worries.
So the whole day the young keyblader had been laying about, and continued to do so now as he sat at the edge of the dock with his feet dangling above the water, watching as the sun was near setting as he much on one of the star shaped fruit he found on the island needing something to eat. Night just thinking about what to do next for his travels when he was done resting here.

Forever is a long time.
A time that seemed most suitable for the length that had spanned since he had last seen these shores of captivity. Sienna eyes closed slowly as the remnants of a dark portal closed behind him, allowing the old man to continue on his way without the excessive howling behind him. It was within the town of the mainland that he had arrived, with the intention to seek out several old possessions that would help benefit himself in the trials to come. The fallout of Stroud's war had strewn about a great deal of happenings in the recent week, and it had dawned upon the elderly Dark Keyblade Master that he still held onto a selection of items he had left on the confines of this small and pitiful world. That alone had been his reason for beginning his journey to power and adventure all those many years ago, and was what made the symbolism in this tiny errand so significant. Somewhere within this island town lay his former residence, which would doubtlessly contain the chest in which he had left a very old book, a black travelling cloak, and a chart of astronomy he had made some many years ago. Down a road that spanned over a hill alongside which ran a white picket fence, Master Xehanort took a casual pace in his walk, leaning slightly forward with his hands interlocked behind his back in a usual manner.
He pondered many things as he took his time in this, relishing the solitude of a walk with oneself as a crisp breeze swept across his face; several leaves caught a brief moment of air, brown and a bright faded yellow, a sign that autumn had begun to take it's toll upon this small world. It was curious to wonder whether Eraqus had gone to see Yen Sid as he verbally intended, or if he had run across a foul encounter with one of the Dark's many warriors. Either way Vanitas still had plenty of time to work with, as with himself, and this did not warrant any immediate concern to the Dark Master. Little did he know however that there was in fact another Keyblade upon this world, yet it bore no current consequence for the youth being across the bay on the islands. There was some activity in the streets once Xehanort had come into the heart of the town, and several carts moving to and fro carrying goods and profits all alike. There was also a flourishing number of children in school uniforms making their way home; the distant chime from the facility's vicinity several blocks away being clear enough evidence to the elderly man that school was indeed out for the day. As he took his time down the main street, many hustled past him as they went about their day, all while making sure not to bump into the older and presumed frail individual who willingly held up foot traffic.
The progress in the search for Ventus' replacement for the X-Blade was as of now, a matter to put within the back of his head, and remained inconclusive. Results would come in due time, however Xehanort's most recent encounter with Braig...or Xigbar he should say, gave the Keyblade Master a good idea of how well Organization XIII was taking his apprentice's bait. As he neared a bricked two story house with a wide, fenced yard, Xehanort turned left into an alleyway, heading through it to the next street where he paused upon the sidewalk to allow passage of a horse and buggy. After the dust from the passing vehicle cleared, the Dark Master made his way across the street to an old house. The paint upon the main boards was faded blue, and the trim that used to be black, a now aged charcoal grey. The fence that surrounded the unkempt yard, and poorly maintained porch remained splintered and obtuse in several areas of it's length. After the old man had made his way through the tall grass of the front yard, he stepped up onto the porch and acknowledged the front door with a solemn nod, then headed inside before shutting the door completely.

After the battle for Kingdom Hearts, 'Artemis' staggered out of a Corridor of Darkness onto the familiar island world. When the dark angel had left the battlefield, she had no specific destination in mind other than a place to rest. For now, the winged keybearer ignored the pain in both of her shins, a result from literally tripping on a huge hunk of rock, as she slowly walked across the beach.
Glancing up at the sky that was turning a radiant scarlet, the dark keybearer sat down on the sand with full intention of watching the sunset and keeping her mind away from the battle. In a way, her idea worked but instead of the battle for Kingdom Hearts, her mind wandered to her keyblade. Reaching out her right hand and slightly leaning back, 'Artemis' summons her faithful Heartsickness keyblade that had help her so much during her decade old journey across the universe alone and gazed at it.
"Why did you choose me, if not for my Heart? There are other potential keybearers that would have been better suited than me..."asked Selena, fully aware that she was talking to her keyblade but believed that she was alone. The dark keybearer had done this before in the past, especially at the beginning of her journey when she had no one to talk to. It was an old habit and most likely a symptom of insanity; but her keyblade was the only companion she had. Aware that she was not going to get an answer back from the inanimate object, Selena set the keyblade next to her and stretched her wings out before comfortably lying down on the sand. The questions of her keyblade were still in her mind and scarred into her heart but for now, the lonely angel will just watch the sky transverse from day to night.

The young boy enjoying the feel of the sun in his face as it slowly went down, the sea breeze blowing his hair back as he sat back. He didn't know what it was about this place, but it felt so relaxing, so peaceful. There wasn't an ounce of darkness that he could sense for now. Why couldn't all the worlds just be like this? Part of him couldn't help but be jealous of how it was here. Going through the town, seeing this peaceful island why couldn't his world be this way and not the chaotic mess it was in already. He sighed trying to get the thoughts out of his mind as suddenly his ears perked up lightly at a sound.
Night could sense the dark presence easy making him quickly turn in suspicions that it could be someone evil. Though the darkness he felt didn't feel evil, not like many others he had met. Night remember back to what Yen Sid had told him about not all darkness not being evil. His eyes narrowed at the dark gateway that allowed so many other dark users to travel before his eyes widen. It was.... some girl? Night couldn't help but just stare for a minute, mainly because the odd wings that this girl had. She wasn't human that was for sure, but by the way she carried herself across the sand she seemed wounded. Though something was familiar about her, but he couldn't quite put his finger.... though suddenly a slight flash as a keyblade appeared in her hand making the boy remember. 'She was at the exam,' he thought to himself, recalling the keyblade, but those wins weren't there before. Well unless she was hiding them he supposed, Night really didn't feel comfortable around her, well around anything that didn't seem very human honestly.
But if she was a keyblader than maybe he could trust her? He gulped lightly as he stood himself up on the wooden deck as she looked at her keyblade. Night taking a step back as her wings stretched out. The keybladered once again gulping as he went forward going close up to her before asking, "Hey you alright?" he asked in slight worry, not for himself, but for the others well being having noticed her stumble. Hoping she wasn't hurt or anything.

The faint sound of files being rustled through could be heard through the crack of a bedroom door, coming from inside a room that Master Xehanort now thoroughly searched for the items which he so eagerly sought. He remained silent as his fingers crept past each folder within a steel chest placed upon the foot of the bed, sienna eyes scanning each folder's title and markings with the most attentiveness to detail, until finally he came upon the item he desired, and pulled it from the bunch to open it. Placing the manila document in the palm of his hand, Master Xehanort skimmed through the details of this unidentified report, then took from the back a neatly folded piece of parchment, upon which there were several scribbles in an ancient language. Replacing the folder within the chest, sienna eyes briefly flickered to the nearest window, as he carefully placed the artifact inside a pocket within his black coat. After pausing for a moment, the elderly Master turned to the closet and opened it, rummaging through the various clothing until he reach the end of the line where a single black cloak hung. The Dark Master took grasp upon the hangar with his snow white glove, then removed it from the steel to wave it once in a sweep through the room, letting the dust fall limply to the ground.
After this he held the fabric up to his own body, and nodded silently as he acknowledged that the size would indeed still fit. So enough it was that the silver lining the coat still glimmered in the light of the sun, which cast through the windows, and gave the room a very gloom appearance. He soon removed the cloak from the hangar, and tossed aside the laundry tool as he folded the black garment to place within a satchel he had found. It was after this that Master Xehanort left the bedroom, and descended the stairs to the study, where he made his way to the book shelf nearest the old Victorian window. His index finger skimmed the spines of various books as he look for a certain title, and when he came upon a book covered in gold trim, he removed it from the shelf and blew the dust from the cover. Sienna eyes glimpsed the lettering upon the hardback front, reading The Mysteries of Light and Dark, and a fond nearly faded out memory of studying this book in his youth crossed the Master's mind. This novelization withheld many truths about both elements dire to the art of Keyblade lore, as well as the documentation of numerous techniques and history supposedly lost in the last Keyblade War. It occurred to Xehanort how truly rare a book of this date was now, for a majority of texts from the same era had been lost in fires or stolen, and it was such fact that only made this particular book a fine asset to his own current endeavors. Indeed the old ways, were the best ways.
Master Xehanort added this to the satchel as well, then tied it to the belt around his waist to hide underneath his black jacket that he currently wore. Taking his time to exit the house slowly, Xehanort smiled devilishly to himself as he closed the door behind him, knowing that he had accomplished what he set out here to do without any hindrance of any kind. Indeed it was the benefit of the ever growing conflict that was slowly breaking into play, for it allowed the Master time to see these kinds of tasks come to fruition. In some way he thanked the silver haired man, simply for being naive enough to set his ambitions high enough that they would never be accomplished, and for providing enough noise to draw the attention of many do gooders among the stars. Making his way back to where he had first arrived on this lilliputian world, Master Xehanort came to a stop as he sensed two distinctive auras which bore a similar distinction much like his own. Sienna eyes glimpsed upward to the fading sun, the sky now burning with an intense orange and pink, and let a cruel smile come across his face. So it would seem there were fellow Keys within the vicinity; a pity he had not detected them sooner, yet fortuitous that he remained undisturbed nonetheless. It didn't matter how long they had been here, for this simple notion only told Xehanort that they lacked proper experience, or the ability to sense out others entirely. Regardless, this was worth investigating for the time being.
With a casual wave of his hand, Master Xehanort once more was overcome with Darkness as he used another Corridor of Darkness, reappearing some distance to Selena's right upon the island. His hands remained interlocked behind his back as he regarded the two presences in question, one of which he instantly recognized as a youth he had encountered before. The boy, whom had also run into Xigbar by chance in Halloween Town, was an interesting prospect that wielded the Keyblade, however in the Master's opinion, lacked the experience and skill necessary to be a suitable replacement for Ventus. He was naive however, which only made him an appropriate variable to be manipulated if it was direly necessary. The other with the wings, he had not seen or heard of before, yet Xehanort could sense a commendable amount of Darkness within this one. Perhaps a test would be useful to learn of this one's ability with that unusual Keyblade she held. For now though, a simple introduction would suffice.
"The Keyblade, a truly fascinating creation."

At the Mark of Mastery, Selena had been wearing her cloak to ensure that no one who had not already seen them (Terra and possibly Aqua) wouldn't see them. Back then, the dark angel had thought it was too soon to reveal her wings because there would be questions asked and without lying, she wouldn't know how to answer them all. Master Aqua knew what her true name was since the last tournament and even the winged keybearer told the truth, she doubted that the young master would believe her any time soon. Despite her own situation, 'Artemis' felt safer with her lies.
As Selena stared up at the sunset, the fatigue from fighting Stroud was beginning to affect her senses and for a few moments, she briefly closed her eyes. The voice of a young boy jolted her back to earth and the dark angel reopened her eyes. Using her Heartsickness keyblade as a sort of crutch, the winged keybearer forced herself to sit up whilst being careful not to impale herself with the thorns from her weapon of choice. With her silver eyes, she looked up at boy who was concerned about her well-being. "I'll be fine, kid." answered the dark angel, her tone barely hinting the fatigue from the previous battle. Despite the absence of her cloak, the winged warrior instinctively flattened the wings against her back.
The fatigue must have been messing with her warrior instinct as Selena heard the voice of another presence from her right and she glanced at the old man with his hands folded behind his back. The winged woman replayed the man's statement inside her head and was almost shocked that he knew about the keyblade. With the warning bells ringing inside her head, the dark angel shakily stood up with her keyblade in hand and narrowed her cold eyes at him. "Who are you and how do you know about the keyblade?" asked Selena harshly, falling into her old survival instinct of not to trust the newcomers and because of her first encounter with Terra, mentally preparing herself to fight if she needed to.

"Woah woah woah, don't do that, you seem exhausted," he said bringing his hands up and waving them to try and signal her to stop. If one was tired they were tired and needed to get rest. Not try to get up and move some more. Part of him wondered ligtly if she would reconize him at all from the test, though not that he thought about it through out the whole exam he was in one of his spirit's form and not his own. The young keyblader having only recently become more comfortable in his human state. Though that detail didn't matter much, all that mattered was that she needed to rest. "You sound find, but you don't look it," he replied back to her at the reply.
Night suddenly looked away from her and around lightly as he began to sense something. Wasn't too sure what it was, well not until he noticed the corridor of darkness appearing. Another one dark figure? His eyes narrowed, but this one was different than the girl's making the younger keyblader slightly nervous. Blue eyes suddenly widen lightly in reconnection as the elderly man walked out. A small chill running down his spine. He was unlucky enough to run into this guy once before, and now here they were again!? A slight pain went through his left arm where his bracelet was, he could feel his darkness' spirit's dieing urge to fight this dark keybearer. It was denied it's chance before to fight, and by the looks of things Night wouldn't have any choice but to give into that wish. But he held back for now, covering his bracelet as he just glared at him, not really to sure what to say.
Though he became somewhat distracted the winged keyblader as he noticed at the corner of his eye that she was shaking just to stand straight. 'Damn it,' he thought to himself before looking back at the elderly man actually expecting a battle, not wanting to be the only one unprepared Night lifted his arm as a light slowly appeared and allowed him to summon his own keyblade, The Way to Salvation, in his hand. It was a slow summon, but at least he was finally able to get the thing out on his own when he concentrated enough. "He goes by Xehanort, he knows about it because he himself is one," Night answered for Selena as he brought up his own keyblade to aim at him walking two steps forward as if he were putting himself between the elderly man and the tired woman. Despite her creepy wings Night still wanted to protect her in case Xehanort wanted a fight. "What are you doing here anyways, have you've come to plunge another world into the darkness?" Night questioned , remembering how well things went in Neverland for the dark side. Though if he did come after this world, he was going to be sure to do everything this time to prevail.

Several things that Master Xehanort began to notice from this new discovery, aside from the unique wings she held, was the excessive amount of fatigue that was evident in her stature. Using one's Keyblade for a crutch was never a voluntary action, and only proved to one as attentive as himself, that this darkly attired young lady had in fact recently saw the grim face of a brutal and intense battle. There was no need to test the skill of either today, for the old man deemed it an inappropriate time. A coy smirk appeared on the face of the elderly man upon seeing the reactions from both of the individuals, which was something rather expected from those who remained comfortable in the Light, fearful and wary of the Dark. As Night stepped between the winged Keybearer and himself, summoning his own Keyblade in the process, Xehanort merely held up a white gloved palm to the courageous youth and took a step forward. The Dark Master shook his head before returning his hand behind his back once more, and made no further motion towards either of them, simple to acknowledge what fear they may have had. "I am a Master of the Keyblade, and I am sworn to the duty of upholding the balances of both Light and Darkness. You possess some knowledge of the concept of balance, don't you boy?" questioned Master Xehanort in a rhetorical matter, then proceeded to walk past the being that had stood in his way, stopping in the shallows of the water some feet before the winged girl.
"Rest assured I intend you no harm. You may relinquish that." added Xehanort in reference to Night's Keyblade as he glanced back over his left shoulder. It was then that he turned towards Selena and nodded to her own. "However if that remains the only thing keeping you standing, by all means continue to do so. I have come here before you to fulfill my obligation as a Master, to you, the new generation of Keyblade wielders, with a warning of the times to come." allured Xehanort as he gestured to them both with a single sweeping gesture of his hand. Indeed his astounding fortune was changing, having run across a series of beneficial encounters, and now a pair of potential Keyblade Knights. Master Xehanort had already tested Night's skill in the midst of turning Neverland's heart, and it would prove most commendable if properly trained in his opinion, yet he would not prove suitable to replace Ventus. Nevertheless he would make a formidable threat to Eraqus if turned, though the girl remained questionable.
It was then that he turned to face the ocean, paying either of them not a single glance more. It was doubtless that Eraqus had probably done his best to instill a great fear of the Dark within the pair of these children, or perhaps the man had little to do with the girl. The changeling known as Night he was certain held strong ties with Eraqus, for an inertia feeling within his own heart strongly suspected this. "It has come to the attention of both myself and Master Eraqus, that there is a powerful individual who seeks to resurrect the power of an ancient force we Masters were charged with safekeeping the knowledge of." spoke the elderly man as he turned to glance back at Selena, then placed a hand over his chest as he nodded solemnly. "This man with long silver hair, cannot be trusted. For as you possess a Keyblade, it is doubtless that he would seek to use your power to bring about this ancient evil." Master Xehanort then walked several steps back towards Night, and stopped between the pair of them, and gave them both a glance into his intense sienna eyes. It was most likely certain that they would have some questions for the Dark Master, whom continued to regard their expressions and reactions throughout the course of this lengthy speech of revelation.

The dark angel ignored the boy's pleas when she forced herself to sit up with the assistance of her faithful keyblade. With her fatigue messing with her mind, Selena did not recognize the fellow keybearer from the Mark of Mastery at Yen Sid's tower. It is likely that she will remember unless Night mentions something about it sometime soon.
Even when Selena was young child, the winged warrior had never been afraid of the dark because she knew that there were worse things to fear than the darkness. The dark angel had met Master Eraqus only once at the Mark of Mastery but he didn't try to stop her nor attempt to instill that fear in her heart. Experience was her best teacher due to what the winged keybearer had learned during the decade of wandering the universe alone, it wasn't the darkness that was to be feared but rather whatever creatures and even people that embraced the darkness just as she did so long ago. However, the dark angel was not afraid of this old man in front of them.
Suddenly, Selena's view of the possible enemy was blocked by the young boy who stepped in front of her and when he summoned a keyblade of his own, a shocked expression appeared on her face. She almost lost her shaky grip on her Heartsickness keyblade but quickly regained it. The dark angel was aware that one slip could result with impaling herself on one of its deadly thorns.
...Xehanort?[/i]wondered Selena as Night asked the man if he was going to make this world fall also. The name rang a bell but the dark angel wasn't sure if she had even heard it before at all and if she did, couldn't remember from where. From her memory's depths, the winged warrior could only hear the sound of the heavy rain from a storm and soon gave up on searching for it. The headache that was beginning to throb inside her head was too much.
As Xehanort began to introduce himself as a 'Master of the Keyblade', it didn't occur to her that he was absent from the Mark of Mastery but those memories was currently far from her reach. The dark angel didn't answer his question about whether she knew or not about the balance of the worlds. When he suggested that if her keyblade was the only thing keeping her up that Selena should keep it, her legs decided to give in on her and she fell to her knees. The winged woman kept her hands on her keyblade and despite the last time this action was done, she carefully rested her head against her keyblade where the thorns won't touch. Selena mentally cursed herself for being weak and gave Night a warning glance to assure them that she was 'alright'.
From there, Selena stayed silent as she done her best to pay close attention to Xehanort's words. Long, silver...Hair?mused the dark angel puzzled as several images of the people of that description she previously met rose up from her memory. Kadaj. Yazoo. Riku. They all had silver hair, but which one was the culprit Xehanort was describing? "You'll need to give us a better description...There are plenty of people with silver hair."answered the winged warrior, keeping the fatigue away from her voice and her eyes.

Night's stance did not falter even as the elderly man put his hand up with a shake of his head as an obvious sign that he meant no harm. Though Considering his fight with him back on Neverland he wouldn't trust him as much as he would a best back on his home world. Even when he spoke about this whole Master of the Keyblade slag the young boy felt he should still keep up his guard. However after his talk with Yen Sid he knew this information to be true. As well as the duty he spoke about. The young keyblader just nodded lightly at his question about his understanding of balance. Though Night didn't understand the whole thing, he at least had some knowledge about it. Again, he was reluctant to put down his blade as Xehanort reassured them that he would cause them no harm, but in the end sighed and did as he was told. His keyblade disappearing in a small flash of light as he put his arm down, watching as the dark keyblader walked.
Though his attention quickly went on the winged girl as he noticed her fall to her knees. Night about to try and help her before he saw glance, stopping himself in place with a worried look. Primus it was times like these he wished he knew some form of healing. Though he made sure not to dwell on her too long since Xehanort was still around. Night feeling he shouldn't leaving his guard away from him for too long. A small 'tch' escaping his lips as he mentioned it was his responsibility as a master to warn them of a threat to come. So was he not one of them now? Though as he mention Master Eraqus he couldn't help but be surprised. So did Eraqus trust this guy now? That didn't seem right, however that old saying of 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' couldn't help but come about so maybe they were for now trying to team up to take on this evil that from the one of silver hair.
Eyes widen slightly with that, "Silver hair huh...." he couldn't help but repeat as he crossed his arms in slight thought. Blue eyes looking to his left as he heard the winged girl speaking, asking just who this mystery man was though Night felt he had a good idea. Feeling it was the one he had fought in Radiant Garden not that long ago, the one who had tried to get the darkness to consume him. A small groan in remembrance of just how deeply he gave into his spirit of Darkness' wishes and desires of taking complete control that day. It was a horrible experience that he wouldn't want to happen again. Night still unable to bring full acceptance of the dark spirit with him, despite the words of Eraqus, and Yen Sid. He said nothing of it though, figuring he should allow the Keyblade Master to answer a bit more about him so that they could learn just who their foe was, and if it really was the silver haired man, with the sword that was a tall as him. However another question did come to mind.
"Just exactly what is this 'ancient force' he seeks? And just how can he use us keybladers to bring about this evil?" he asked feeling the goal of what this man was after to be a tad more important than the man himself.

This world continued to glow in a solemn portrait of twilight, much like the countless evenings he himself had spent gazing out to the skies and ocean from these desolate but peaceful shores. Now as his sienna eyes glanced out upon the waters turned orange by the sky and sun, it was no different than it had been all those many years ago. In response to the triad of questions, asked by both Selena and Night, Master Xehanort merely shook his head slowly and remained silent for a moment longer. The statement of the girl held enough truth in itself, and only acknowledged the old man's former lack of specifics. There could be any number of dark hearted men out in the worlds with hair of silver hue, he believed this, for he himself had once retained similar traits in his youth. "My apologies, dear child." he began, choosing to answer Selena first out of formal respect. "You are right, I should have been more specific." The Dark Master cleared his throat, and placed a hand firmly upon his chest. "I know not who this mysterious man was, nor his name, however he possessed a single feathered wing, and a most lengthy weapon of choice I might add." spoke Master Xehanort, recalling the brief encounter he had with the individual in the Keyblade Graveyard, some time before the death of Stroud.
Master Xehanort continued to regard the demise of the Horsemen's self-proclaimed leader as a significant point in time, one that signified the beginning of this mass arms race for the X-blade. Indeed it was most inconvenient that the knowledge of the weapon, passed down throughout generations of Keyblade Masters, had been revealed to other hearts that were filled with Darkness. What intrigued Xehanort so much about this problem that had grown to such wide of scale, was the fact that this would be seeker did not possess the means to wield the weapon himself. There had been no Keyblade present when the man had drawn arms against the Master, nor was there any hint or sign that this wicked silver haired man was in fact a wielder of the Key. Still there remained the possibility that perhaps the talent remained hidden, in which case Xehanort would have to see about confronting this individual himself once again. Night's questions came next in turn to answer, which merely provoked a dismissive wave as the old man turned away from the pair of would be apprentices. "Taking into account of the fact that neither of you are a Master, it is not your place to know the exact knowledge of this force, as of yet." began Xehanort before he provided a slow glance back over his shoulder to the two. "However," he added, taking the time to turn around to face the pair and regarded them both with a widespread gesture of his arms. "In light of the circumstances, old traditions are not suitable to abide by. It is doubtless you would discover this eventually, so I will simply inform you now."
The elderly Master of the Keyblade brought one of his hands down before him, folding the other behind his back, and clenched his white gloved hand into a fist. As he slowly opened the palm of this fist, the small glittering form of a translucent "X" appeared just above the surface of the glove's fabric, hanging there as though suspended by an invisible thread. Sienna eyes regarded it before glimpsing to the faces of the other two, taking in their reactions before he began his explanation. "“χ”…A most ancient letter. Some say “kye,” but the meaning is the same. Death…A letter that spells endings. It is the name given to a most ancient weapon, the most powerful of Keyblades." spoke Master Xehanort, slow enough so that the pair of youths before him could take in everything he uttered. Soon the letter was replaced by a small flash of Light, replaced by an image of two Kingdom Keys joined together by an ethereal crest from which a blade protruded. "Unlike the Keys you children and myself wield, which seek to join Kingdom Hearts, the X-Blade exists alongside it. It is the weapon's power to summon Kingdom Hearts directly to the wielder that makes it truly unique. Doubtless, this is possibly the very reason why the silver haired man seeks to acquire it." Master Xehanort then waved his hand, and the images in his palm were dismissed into nothingness. The elderly man made a solemn bow of his head to the pair of Keyblade wielders before him, then cast a glance over his shoulder down the shore of the beach, where several pools of Darkness began to manifest.
As Master Xehanort's eyes narrowed at the sight of forthcoming Heartless, he turned his attention back to that of Night and Selena. "A most tedious development since the fall of the Horsemen, but it concerns you as much as myself. You have but two options: Return to Eraqus, train to become stronger and see an end to this threat...or become a slave and witness the birth of a new hell. It is your decision." spoke Master Xehanort as he turned in full to walk down the beach, heading towards the eight Neoshadows that had surfaced from the pools. They danced in an awkward manner down the sands towards the elderly man, who merely regarded them with a sienna gaze as he stopped several feet before them. When both parties had ceased their actions, they merely stood down one another for but a moment more in prolonged silence. Without warning another pool of Darkness spawned behind Master Xehanort, cutting off the would be apprentices from the old man. Moments more passed as the massive form of a Dark Follower emerged from the depths of the Darkness, provoking a surprised smirk on the face of the old man. As fortune would have it, a suitable means to test both of these prospective youths had arrived, and would put their powers to trial. Master Xehanort held out his right hand to the side, and a flash of Light consumed his hand before fading to reveal Roads of Equality firmly grasped within the white glove. The elderly man rested the weapon at his side while regarding the Heartless around him, then nodded in the direction of both the other Keyblade wielders. To begin the walk down this next path, indeed, it was their choice.

Resting her head against her keyblade, Selena could only listen to Xehanort's formal apology for being unspecific in his description of the potential villain and lifted her head up to look at the dark keyblade Master. A single wing? How is he able to fly without flying in circles?[/color]wondered the dark angel momentarily, Most likely isn't Kadaj then. He doesn't have a single wing that I'm aware of.[/color] Other than the battle against Stroud in which her encounter with the Remnant was short, it had been a while since Selena had last seen him and so far, had not been able to locate the 'X-Blade' that he wanted her to wield.
However, the dark angel was unsure of what 'ancient force' they were speaking about until the Master himself answered for them after the younger keybearer had asked what it was and how the keybearers were involved. She watched Xehanort clench his fist then reopen it to reveal the small illuminant 'X' that was sort of just floating above the material of his glove. With a concerned expression and a frown appearing on her face as she recognized the name of the ancient weapon, Selena remained silent as she listened to Xehanort explained to them about the 'X-blade' before replacing the 'X' with the weapon itself.
So that's the 'X-blade' Kadaj seeks....It doesn't look much like much but the design seems to be over elaborate to use in a fight...mused 'Artemis' as she removed one hand from the handle of her keyblade to rummage in her right pocket, Please let one of my potions be in there...Yes! Success![/color] Her hand had grasped the small vial of a potion and the dark angel was more than grateful to have found it. She quietly uncorked the vial and drank its contents before feeling some of her energy return to her. One of these days I'll have to learn a healing spell...mused the winged warrior, knowing that there will be a day that she won't have any potions with her or be able to afford any.
When the Neoshadow Heartless appeared, Selena glared and her eyes flashed gold for a mere brief moment as she forced herself up again. Aware that her weapon's ability to poison will severely effect the Heartless once they're hit, she pulled her Heartsickness keyblade from the sand with her right hand. Her icy eyes widened slightly once the Dark Follower appeared. "I hope you can keep up kid."stated Selena with a small smirk, her left wing wrapping itself around her body like a shawl and her right flattening against her back. Her keyblade becomes engulfed in blood-red flame and for a moment, Selena regretted it as she soon felt her right arm lose some feeling a.k.a. 'limb fell asleep'. Not taking a moment to delve on it, the dark angel charges then sends Wolf's Fang at the Dark Follower. 'Artemis' was definitely feeling the adrenaline rush as she also aimed a three slash combo at two of the Neoshadows with full intention of leaving some of the 'prey' for Night.

[bg=000000][atrb=style,border: 2px solid #c1b56c;][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=width,20%][atrb=vAlign,top][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,3,true] the past is over ★ ( and Tomorrows wishful thinking ) Night just kept his blue eyes on the elderly man, Night's guard still up thinking that he would do something against them. The young keyblader watching as the twilight hour ended and the nightfall took it's place, making him a tad uncomfortable if they were to have to fight since now he would be forced to use the darkness. Though if what the old man said was true then hopefully he wouldn't have to worry about it. Again listening as Xehanort gave a bit more detail on who this guy was, eyes widening slightly, "So it is him," the younger couldn't help but say out loud, knowing full well just how powerful that man was in their battle, making him cringe lightly at the thought of his battle.
He then waited for him to answer his questions about just what this weapon was. Slightly annoyed that it seemed like he was about to dismiss his questions because they weren't 'master keybladers' though in the end he seemed to explained anyways since they were to learn later about it. He stepped back a bit intimidated by the sudden magic letter that came from his magic. Just how the heck did someone do something like that? Though none of it mattered much so he just decided to focus on the contents of what he had to say about this χ-Blade thing and how it existed with Kingdom Hearts. Night looking down in thought as he recalled learning a bit from Eraqus about the thing, and how all those keyblades at the graveyard belonged to the keybladers fighting over it. So was it all happening again. The silver haired man trying to get it so that he could get to Kingdom Hearts? That wasn't a good sign at all.
Though his thoughts about the blade were interrupted as suddenly darkpools appeared before them, the young keyblader seeming confused at first before he noticed the NeoShadows that the darkness formed of them. "Just great," he groaned lightly, looking to his left watching at the winged woman drank something in order to regain health making the boy a bit baffled. Just what kind of drink was that? Though again he was distracted at the sudden appearance of this sudden giant heartless thing. What kind of monstrosity is this thing? Night couldn't help but think having never encountered a heartless this big before now. The young keyblader's eyes were wide in fear as he noticed these new strange heartlesses, listening to the words Xehanort had to speak about either getting stronger or becoming some slave and sitting on the sidelines just watching. Just what kind of messed up choice was that? He couldn't help but growl at the comment, hating the word but the choice was clear to him. He would fight, and he would do whatever it took to help protect the worlds from this dark force. Though for now he had heartless to heal with here.
"I can handle myself just fine," Night answered back to the winged keyblader, feeling the excitement coming from his spirit of darkness as he reached out his arm, his bracelet glowing in a purplish light before it engulfed the young boy's body in shadows. Body growing to now one of a man with black lion like armor, the same dark armor that he used at the Mark of Mastery, though the exact opposite armor from what he used in his fight against Xehanort and his apprentice. He wasn't to happy about being in this form for he could feel the spirit just begging for control to have his own fun, and for once to do a battle his way. But as usual Night held it all back, still rejecting the full darkness. Not too long after Selena attacked Night ran forward his dark keyblade now appearing in the place of his other one as he jumped high into the air and slashed down with it sending his Dark Blade at the chest of the Dark Follower. The momentum from his attack allowing him the full height to land behind the large thing. Hands over his chest before releasing a roar and removing them, sending five blast of dark energy at 2 other Neo Shadows with this Shadow Meteor attack.

When the night had overtaken the twilit sky, the stars slowly grew brighter as the burnt orange slowly faded to blue, then ultimately to an eclipsing black that darkened the world. From the evidence in the sky, Xehanort saw no present moon this evening, only the faint glimmer of the bright light's reflection upon the surface of the ocean. The sounds of the crashing waves upon the sands of the shores were deafened, drowned out by the collision of power from techniques with that of Heartless who were unfortunate to cross their path. The colors and light that emitted from both Night and Selena's abilities lit up the vicinity when they were used, briefly bringing about Xehanort's face into the light as he simply continued to stand there, smirking up at the Dark Follower's glowing yellow eyes. Upon the finale of this, everything faded back into the shadow of the world's natural night. When four Neoshadows fell to the ground, having been greatly affected by the strength of both abilities, they burst into an unseen shroud of darkened mist. The Dark Follower was taking a sufficient amount of damage, he could tell, but it would require more effort to take this monstrosity down. There remained four more Neoshadows somewhere on this darkened beach as well, which Xehanort could easily sense with his heart, two behind him and two that had moved around each side of the Follower to flank Night from his left and right.
Master Xehanort took several steps forward, then cast Teleportation to appear in front of Night, and made a powerful downward slash onto the head of the Neoshadow to the left. The Dark Master then made a wide sweep with his Keyblade to the right, managing to catch the Heartless coming from Night's right just before it's claw reached the boy. The Dark Master lowered his Keyblade to his side as he turned to face Night, then pointed the black and white steel towards the Dark Follower, which aimed to step forward to grab Selena. "Do not give into your fear, boy. Remember that you control the Darkness, and use it to defeat the Heartless." spoke the elderly Keyblade Master, attempting to give Night some useful advice. Master Xehanort knew that if this youthful warrior could never utilize both the Light and the Dark, only choosing the former as the weak minded Eraqus would, then the ambition to ever become a Master of the Keyblade was beyond Night's reach. It was at this moment that the two remaining Neoshadows attempted to move in on Selena as well, to which Xehanort made no response or motion to assist her. The Dark Master suspected that she would have no problems felling two more, especially after witnessing her prior downing of a most useful potion.
Master Xehanort's attention was then seized by the sound of a great impact, and turned to witness the Dark Follower with it's fist buried in the earth. He had anticipated it's actions incorrectly, and rather than grab at Selena, it had forcefully thrust it's hand into the sand, creating a new pool of Darkness. More Heartless began to crawl from it's depths, this time only mere Shadows, the weakest variety of any pure blood. Sienna eyes narrowed at the sight of this, however it did nothing to sway Xehanort's opinion of this situation. It was truly fortuitous, merely for the sake that it gave him an opportunity to examine and gauge the other's skills, while playing off his ruse of assisting the Light in the process. A wave of his hand was made, and above the new spawn of ten Shadows, the bright purple bolts of a Dark Thundaga rained down to unmake and dwindle their numbers to nothing. This impromptu test of skill was going quite smoothly indeed. ~~~~~~~~ Abilities UsedDark Thundaga – A barrage of purple lightning and darkness that Master Xehanort fires over an indicated area or target(s) to inflict heavy damage. 2 post cool down.
Teleportation – Through the power of Darkness, Master Xehanort is able to willingly teleport himself around the battlefield, disappearing in a cluster of black orbs that slowly fade into nothing following the usage of this ability. He often combines this effort with vicious combos and Dark spells, however it can be used by itself if necessary too. 1 post cool down.

Selena knew that the soothing effects of the potion she had just ingested was temporary as she felt her injured shins steadily throb in pain as she kept moving to avoid further injury. The dark angel felt herself smirk in response to the younger keybearer's answer and decided that she liked this kid. When the Dark Follower reached out to thrust its fist into the ground, the winged woman jumped backward and landed gracefully on the sand but not without flinching from her shin injuries.
At the same time, her blood-flame wolf of her Wolf's Fang leaped backward and held its posture high as it circled around the Dark Follower at a safe distance. It snarled at the Shadow Heartless that appears from the dark cesspool the fist has created upon contact with the sand. The blood-red 'flames' it was created from danced around its body and because of this, appeared to glow evilly as the sunset becomes night.
I'll have to fly....mused the dark angel as she slashed the neoshadow coming from her right and spun around to thrust her keyblade into the last Heartless that had decided to sneak up from behind. Once the two Neoshadows were taken care of, Selena stretched her wings to their full span and with one flap, she was in the air. The winged woman flew around the Dark Follower so that she was behind it.
With cold eyes, Selena glanced down at Xehanort just as he waved his hand to create the violet bolts of lightning that rained down at the Dark Follower and her gaze turned to the wolf created out of her own blood which stared back with golden eyes in turn for a brief moment. The dark angel then swooped down and aimed a six slash combo at its back while at the same time, the blood-flame wolf charged at its fist and chomped down at the wrist with no intention of letting go. After the combo, the winged warrior flew backward a bit higher and looked down.
Hopefully the poison can take it down before it seriously injures one of us...mused Selena solemnly, a small frown appearing on her face as she watched the fight continue between Night, Xehanort and the Dark Follower.
Wolf's Fang: a silver/blood-red wolf out of Heart's Blood comes out of her keyblade and attacks the opponent. It may team up with Selena during the two post duration. [Duration: 1 Post left]
