OOC: I apologize for the delay but today marks the day of the start of the Confused Memories Cup, and I hope you all enjoy it ^_^! All matches have been picked randomly from a hat as well as who will be posting first in each fight. This thread will contain the match between Snow V. and Sephiroth with Sephiroth first to post and Snow V. to follow after. A tournament bracket will be posted to reflect the current state of the tournament and be updated periodically. IC: “Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the Confused Memories Cup! We’ve got several warriors ready to fight for your entertainment today folks, seasoned veterans, ruthless murderers, keybearers both light and dark, Heartless and Nobodies, and damn near everything in between! With 16 participants, this tournament promises to be a brawl unlike any you have seen before and for those of you that are squeamish, I suggest you leave the arena now!” yells a small centaur like creature, a few audience members leaving the pews upon his warning. With a flicker of a smile and a roar from the crowd, the diminutive creature continues his spiel. “You better not sneeze, you better not blink, and you better not leave your seats folks, for even just a moment’s lack of attention could make you miss the fight of the century! I hope you’re all prepared for this as well as our warriors have and I’ve got five words for all of ya… Let the tournament begin!”

Upon hearing let the tournament begin, Sephiroth himself decided he'd make the first appearance. And true to his usual style of appearing, a portal opened up in the sky, filled with strange symbols and runes. Quickly the runes began to glow, brighter and brighter whilst the symbols started glowing, both of which rapidly began to rotate. Wit each rotation the runes and symbols grew brighter, as did the rotating portal before a large, blinding beam of light hit the ground of the coliseum itself, dissipating from site after a few seconds. As soon as the light vanished, Sephiroth himself was revealed in a kneeling position, his appearance altered slightly as it always did when he entered this world, especially the coliseum. Slowly he rose upward, Masamune, his seven foot long katana appearing in his left hand in a brief flash of light. Glowing mako infused eyes scanned about not only the crowd that had gathered and the announcer himself, but towards the entrance to the coliseum as he awaited the arrival of his opponent, Masamune raised above his head, blade pointed diagonally to the right in a defensive position as he awaited his opponent. ooc: Seph's current image

Snow entered this tournament to try to find his friends, in fact, he entered this world all in order to find his friends. That was the goal. Snow was sure that something like this tournament would attract Fang or Lightning, two of his friends who were complete warriors. Besides, the tournament could do him some good, it could make him stronger and it could help Snow get used to fighting in this universe. Serah, who had been traveling with him, had been searching through this world. Snow told her about the tournament that he entered and Serah gave him a good luck hug and kiss. Snow felt confident about this. He didn't know what was going to happen, but he was sure that it was going to be great. Snow walked into the Coliseum. He gave them his name and told him that his match had already started. Snow couldn't believe it that he was late. He could have sworn that he was early. Snow then ran his way through the doors, through the walkway and out to where he was going to have his match.
As soon as he came out, the crowd roared and cheered for Snow. Snow stopped and looked all around him. Snow didn't think that there were gonna be so many people. Snow smiled, and to keep the crowd on their feet and to keep them cheering, Snow thrust his fist into the air and he ran toward the platform where he was going to fight his opponent. He didn't bother taking the steps; he jumped and landed onto the platform. Snow smiled at the crowd, Snow just had to win, he just had too. Snow then looked toward his opponent and at that point, all smiles were gone. Snow examined his opponent; the first thing he noticed was his long blade. Snow examined his opponent a bit more, taking in his odd appearance. He had one wing, long platinum silver hair, silver shoulder pads...this guy just...looked evil. Not only that but, Snow felt an eerie aura coming from this man. Snow clenched his fists and his jacket began to glow. Snow's weapon was his martial arts but his true weapon was the jacket that he wore, which was called the Wild Bear. The Wild Bear jacket was a special form of clothing that held AMP technology from his world. Snow's jacket used the AMP technology of strength boosting emblems which were shown in the forms of various patches that appear when Snow goes to battle. Snow took his clenched his fists and pounded his knuckles together a couple of times. After that, he secured the gloves and closed the distance between him and his silver haired opponent.
"Hope you weren't waiting for too long...let's get this started...", Snow said with a smirk.
Snow found this man to be...a bit intimidating. Snow had never seen one quite like the opponent he had today. Snow wasn't sure what to make of him or his fighting style, but there were a couple of things that he did know. He knew that this man's sword was long, so this man would be a problem from close and long range. Snow didn't know why but he just knew, with a certainty that he could not explain, that the Shiva Sisters were going to be making an appearance in this battle. This man did not look like a pushover in the least...at all. Snow got into his fighting stance and put his game face on. This was going to be rough, but Snow thought that if he could just make him play his game of close range, he would have a chance at winning. Snow has faced soldiers with guns, animals that were more than a hundred feet tall, and opponents that were pretty much omnipotent in his world. Snow knew that if he could handle all of that...he could handle this...

Sephiroth eyed his opponent with his glowing Mako infused gaze for just the briefest of moments. He sensed no threat whatsoever from the male before him. As the male closed the distance, the One Winged Angel smirked somewhat, his grip upon Masamune tightening some as his entire body tensed. From what he could tell, the male carried no weapon whatsoever. He was a martial artist type fighter, similar to that Tifa woman that followed Cloud around. Easily dealt with.
"I can sense your fear. You're scared...you know you can't win this." he says in his usual cold, emotionless tone. "You are weak. Nothing but an ant in my world..." After he finished speaking, he vanished from sight, leaving behind nothing but a single black feather fluttering to the ground where he had once stood. His opponent clearly had no idea what exactly he was up against. A smirk formed upon his face as he reappeared a few feet behind Snow, who was hopefully distracted or surprised by his vanishing.
As his feet silently touched ground once again when he reappeared, his empty left hand rose up in the air as he called upon the power hidden away in his Jenova Cells. Poor Snow, if he thought L'Cie and Fal'Cie were bad...he was going to learn a new definition of hell. "Perish...now.." came the voice of the One Winged Angel as about four large flaming pillars rose up around him. These pillars were not ordinary flames. No..the force behind them created a vacuum effect, one that started to suck in neary everything around it. The pillars surrounding the coliseum, the stones from any unoccupied seats, even some of the tile from the arena floor itself. And at the middle of it all, awaiting his oppenent if he failed to pull away from the vacuum effect, stood Sephiroth himself, just waiting to strike his opponent from within the flames.

Snow was fearless. It didn't matter who he faced or what he was up against. He just knew that he was going to come out on top, not because he was cocky and he felt that the opponent was weak. He was quite sure that this opponent was not to be played with. The fact of the matter was...Snow strongly believed in himself. He never once underestimated his opponent. He treated everything that had been up against him with seriousness. He believed in his own strength, in his own ability, and that alone is what makes Snow so dangerous to his opponents. Snow's spirit was indomitable, insurmountable and it was contagious to those that fought beside him. Snow took in the view of his weird-looking opponent smirking. Snow didn't quite see what was in that simply because he was smirking at him as well. It would be quite a challenge fighting those who had weapons but Snow felt that he would be ok.
Already, the mind games had begun. The whole taunting thing always got on Snow's nerves. However this time, this man's talking game seemed...kind of weak. He told Snow that he could sense his "fear" and that he knew that he was "scared" Snow raised an eyebrow, figuring that his opponent was one of the types to try and psych out the other person by talking weird. Snow didn't really know the guy so he couldn't judge him but...all Snow could think in reaction to this was...what was this guy trying to pull? Snow wanted to roll his eyes at this man but he kept his composure. However he could not believe the audacity of this guy, who did this guy think he is? He didn't know Snow but...he called him an ant. Snow just wanted to laugh but he kept it inside. But suddenly his opponent just disappeared, he vanished into thin air. Snow widened his eyes, obviously he didn't know he could do that.
This opponent was magical, and Snow thought it was awesome but he had to pay attention and him keeping his composure payed off. As soon as he heard his voice, Snow gritted his teeth, knowing full well that he was behind him. Snow used his incredible strength and the AMP technology in his jacket and applied to his legs, he then jumped away, clear from his opponent. He turned around in midair to find his opponent in the middle of four pillars of flame. Snow's jaw dropped in surprise. Snow couldn't believe his opponent wasn't getting burned by this attack. What's more was that this attack had a vacuum effect. Snow felt himself being sucked in even when he was in the air but as soon as he landed he figured that, for right now, he will have to play defense. Snow, as he was getting sucked in, activated his Steelguard ability. Snow got into a defensive stance and he began to glow gold. What was so special about Snow was not really his strength but the incredible amounts of punishment he could take. In this ability, Snow could take on any attack and not get hurt, expect of course when he gets hit by a super move. Judging by the way Snow's opponent acts and from what he said about Snow being an ant even though Snow is a much larger man than this one winged man, he was not going to unleash his special attack this early on. Snow came into contact with the flames but his special Steelguard move...negated it. At this point, Snow is close to his opponent. Snow then looked down on his opponent and smirked.
"You're gonna have to come stronger than that if you wanna take me out!"

Sephiroth merely smirked as Snow withstood his Stigma attack with his Steelguard ability. So, it looks like his opponent might just give him -some- sort of fun after all. With just a simple flick of his hand, the flames that surrounded him died down, leaving only the One Winged Angel himself, Masamune pointed directly at his opponent. His glowing green gaze studied the man, his look almost as if he was staring straight into the man's soul.
After a moment passed, a smirk formed upon his lips. "I've thought of a wonderful gift for you... he says as he pulls Masamune back, bending slightly at the knees. "Shall I take your loved ones from you? he says coldly before lunging forth, swinging Masmamune rapidly eight times for the Octaslash attack. "Or shall I torture the one closest to your heart while you watch? he asked during the slashes. Yes, he was definitely going to attempt to psych Snow out. Get under his skin. It was what he was good at.

His opponent returned his smirk as Snow kept up his Steelguard ability while the flames died out. If there was one thing that Snow was really good, it was taking punishment. Snow's body was very strong, however this man might just give Snow's defenses a run for their money. Snow was usually the type to go on the offensive. He thought that defense was the best offense at any time of his life. He always believed that if you hit them first and keep on it, then the battle is yours. He never really had to think about healing his wounds because Lightning, Hope, or Vanille were always around to back up his offensive onslaught. However, now he had to multitask. Snow was not much of a magic user but he would just have to play the hand that he was dealt and beat this silver haired man, no matter what. Snow's opponent pointed his long weapon at Snow and stared at him for a while. Snow wasn't quite sure what this man was planning. However, with his Steelguard intact, Snow felt untouchable.
It was at this point that Sephiroth began taunting the burly blond, asking Snow if he wanted for him to take his loved one away from him. Snow wasn't as to what was going on. This was a tournament. These guys weren't fighting to the death...they were fighting for sport. Snow had an eerie feeling about this man, a feeling that would not leave him no matter what he did. Could this man...really be serious about this fight? Snow pondered this as he held his guard. At this point, Snow's opponent began to pull his weapon back and then he rushed in and began to deliver a series of blows. Snow braced himself and he was right to do so. This man was serious. Snow knew that by the way his opponent taunted him and by the way he attacked him. Snow knew that he could not mess around from here on out, he just couldn't.
Due to the onslaught, his Steelguard ability broke on the eighth strike. Snow flew back and hit the ground but he did a kip-up to regain his composure once he hit the ground. Snow was ok but he wasn't expecting such a man to move so quickly with a sword that was more than twice his height, and he wasn't expecting for the attack to pack such a punch either. Snow smiled and he opened up his two palms and energy began to gather in his two palms.
"Relax, man, it's just a tournament..."
Snow decided to use the attack Ruin, which was an energy ball attack which also exploded upon contact with any surface. He kept his smile and then he threw the twin energy balls at his opponent. However, as soon as he threw the second orb, Snow decided to rush in and give him a powerful blow to the chest. As soon as the second one left his hand, Snow ran in at full speed. He summoned his strength and the AMP technology in his jacket for a crushing blow to his opponent's chest. He balled up his mighty fist, preparing to finish his combination attack as he ran toward his opponent.
