What was it that made a God? Was it power? Was it knowledge? Was it money? Was it simply a random twist of fate? Was it something you were born into? Was it something you wished for really hard and it just happened? Or was it one of the many other reasons people have thought up over the years? No one truly knew aside from the Gods themselves, although one Heartless believed that their heart was what gave them such status. Yes, said Heartless believed that it was their heart that gave them such power, the power to rule over countless peoples! It wanted this power all for itself and to have dominion over all its kin and any other lifeform and would do anything for it. Thus, when the Heartless had happened across a God in a weakened state on the planet of Olympius, it took that one and only chance to acquire that power. Indeed, the Heartless attacked the God that held a mighty trident loosely in his right hand, attempting to dive into his heart and steal it. Despite the God's weakened state though, he struggled with the beast and managed to succeed in thwarting off it's attack. Unfortauntly, he had not done so completely and lingering remnants of the massive power that his heart contained had actually been passed down to the Heartless. The Heartless could feel the power welling up inside its body, almost as if it would burst at any moment! Yes, that would be a favorable outcome and as the god regained his bearings, he had begun to move to assure such a fate befall the Heartless. “You dare try to steal the heart of a god you foul beast?! Learn your place for I am Poseidon, God of the Sea!” he shouted as he lifted his trident before whipping it at the Heartless. His efforts were in vain though, the Heartless avoiding the blow as it quickly fled the scene, knowing that it would take a bit of time to get used to its newfound power. Furthermore, fighting a god was a ludicrous notion, even if said god was seemingly a step away from death's door. Yes, retreat was the only proper response and without hesitation the Heartless fled the scene to toy with it's newfound power... the only question was... where to begin? Location was key after all, the Heartless would need people to see it's acts of power if it hoped to instill fear into their hearts. A populated place seemed like a good option and with very little effort the Heartless quickly found a town among the many on Olympius. Without a moment's notice, said Heartless would begin throwing it's weight around, using many powers that would normally be seen only coming from Poseidon! Tidal waves rose and blanketed the town while the earth beneath the scattered buildings shook and caved in violently. It was a sight to behold and while perhaps not at the level of Poseidon himself, was certainly no laughing matter. After destroying a sizeable amount of the town, the Heartless stopped, satisified with the destruction but curious as to why no screaming was heard. It began to look around, having already assumed a human form similar to Poseidon that allowed it easy movement, searching for an answer. A moment later, the Heartless came to the conclusion that the townsfolk had to be elsewhere, perhaps at an event of some sort like the Olympics. Whatever the case was, the Heartless was surprised it hadn't sensed the lack of hearts in the area. Perhaps it had gotten caught up in the moment, the new found power distracting it but it was irrelevant now. Indeed, now the Heartless was using that built in “heart radar” and scanning for anything with a pulse nearby and only found one... and it was heading his way. OOC: Sorry if the post is a little lackluster but I promise the fight will certainly be a lot more intense ! If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me (Felix), and I'll do my best to answer your questions.

OOC: Oh... That was very well expected! I look forward to this battle!
IC:
Powerful darkness... What could define a powerful darkness? Would it be something that was born so strong, that even the most powerful Light couldn't overtaken? Possibly, but could there be a dark power that gets stronger as it fights more and more powerful beings? Another possibility, this idea was. From the perspective of Yukimura, they were both possible, but Yukimura had been developing a thought that a powerful darkness had to be built up more, rather than be born powerful.
The swordsman was lingering in the dark corridors linking the worlds, pondering on what to do. His encounter with that mysterious man of Light, along with the battle with his own sword over his dark heart, made Yukimura believe he had to increase the power of his own dark heart, so he would never experience such great terror for the darkness. But the problem, though, was how to increase it exactly. As he tried to figure a plan out, Yukimura's sword called out to him with a suggestion.
"If it is increasing the darkness of your heart, then you must fight someone or something with a level of dark power that is higher than yours, but is quite reachable."
"Hm...? What do you mean?"
"You will see what I mean... Take the path to your right."
The voice of his sword faded away, after giving Yukimura its strange advice. The swordsman looked to his right, down the path. It went straight for a moment, but then it forked into 2 paths. The left path was short, seemingly stopping somewhere, while the right continued elsewhere. Was it wise to follow the command of something that only recently began to talk to him? Something that threatened his very existence by trying to consume Yukimura's heart?
"Hmm... It wouldn't be best to follow the suggestion, but, if it will help my power increase, then it would work out in my favor, Yukimura pondered, "I can't linger in these corridors too long, as well. If I stay here any longer, Heartless will pick up the darkness seeping out from me."
The swordsman came to a conclusion that it was best to take the path, but only because it was best to avoid Heartless in their domain. Yukimura walked down the path to his right and reached the fork, taking the much shorter path to his left. He rose his hand up and summoned an exit portal, leading back into the realm of Light. The man walked into the portal and entered a world that was rather surprising to the man.
He arrived at grassy plains next to a civilized area. The swordsman looked around, seeing the plains stretch far, looking like an endless sea. The civilization was located on a mountain that seemed to rise up high into the clouds above. Yukimura figured that entering a city like this wouldn't be best for him currently, so he turned away and began to walk the opposite way.
Hours passed since he began walking these plains, the fatigue getting to him eventually. He took refuge under a small tree, to get out of the bright sun's rays. He leaned back against a tree and sat on the grass. He was exhausted greatly from having to walk around so much. However, he would not be able to rest for long.
About a fourth of a mile away, due South of his location, Yukimura could feel a spike of dark power shoot up. The swordsman rose to his feet after a few minutes had passed and began to move in on the dark power he felt. It was strange to feel something so far out, but it revealed an opportunity for Yukimura to do something to get strong.
"Hmph... So, what you meant was to kill whoever has dark power stronger than my own in order to increase my own dark power. Not a bad suggestion, Dragon."
The sword began to vibrate and sing, as if in approval of Yukimura's conclusion. It tickled Yukimura a little as it did. The swordsman reached for the handle over his shoulder and drew the blade. The blade sung loudly in tones reflecting hunger and glee. He smiled, as he approached the wreckage of a town, as he came across a very heavy aura of dark power over the area. It had taken him a while to get here, but the power did not move away. Yukimura was able to tell that this was the dark power of a Heartless, but there was something mixed with this power. That thing mixing with the Heartless's power had been making the dark energy feel amplified extremely.
As excitement entered Yukimura, his eyes drifted upon a creature in the form of a man, with dark vapors rising from its figure. It was armed with a large, three pronged weapon with V-shaped tips. The ground was drenched with water that seemed nonexistent in the area. Puddles had formed all over the area, including in wrecked buildings and houses. Had this Heartless been the cause of the damage? It must have been, for violently excited emotions seemed to also have mixed with the Heartless's aura.
Yukimura smirked widely and rose his sword up to the dark creature. He stated, coldly, "I see your power... Your dark strength..! It shall fall and become part of my own power!"

OOC: Heh I hope so, although I will be winging it with my attacks just according to myth and God of War more or less so hope you're cool with that.
IC: Within a moment, the Heartless that had tested it's newfound powers on the city was greeted by another being. His eyes glanced over to said being, giving him a once over carefully and letting out a small “hmph” after doing so. This man believed he could defeat Poseidon? Surely the man was strong, the Heartless knew that much, but he was far from powerful enough to fight a deity. He seemed unbelievably cocky and the Heartless couldn't help but think he had to put this sword wielding buffon in his place. With that said, the Heartless began to laugh, now having also adopted Poseidon's physical characteristics in the form of speech as well.
“You wish to defeat me? I am Poseidon, God of the Sea, the Earth, and the Steed (horses)! To think a lesser being even has the gall to believe such a foolish notion is ludicrous! Yes, I do believe you'll need to be educated in just where you stand mortal and I will be your teacher gladly,” he replied, as another fit of laughter escaped his lips. When it stopped, the fake Poseidon would stab his trident into the ground and with just that simple action, suddenly, pillars of water would began to sprout from the earth. Several would gush out of the ground as they headed toward Yukimura, almost as if they were homing and would follow him wherever he went. If caught by a pillar of water, Yukimura would take quite a bit of damage from the water pressure behind the geyser that would send him flying into the air.
Oh but that would not be all, oh no, the fake Posedion never held back and would decimate any mortal foolish enough to oppose him! Regardless of whether the pillars that chased Yukimura's success, Posedion would ready his trident, taking careful aim at the foolish man. He gripped it tightly in his right hand, the pillars seizing now that he had retrieved trident from the ground. Suddenly, lightning would cover the trident, electrifying it and making it a rather potent and deadly threat. He would then stab it into the ground once more, spreading electricity all around the ground that was now moist with the residue of water left behind by his earlier attack. The area it covered wasn't large but if Yukimura happened to get caught by the attack, it would surely be devastating and shock him severely.
“Foolish mortal, you cannot hope to defeat a God! Perish for your insolence!” the Heartless would yell, having been engulfed by his power. It was truly a sight to see, the way power could change a man, or in this case a Heartless. Just a moment ago the Heartless was just a simple being with seldom a thought aside from his ponderings of God... and now... he was one. At least he believed so anyway, but only time would tell or rather... this battle.
OOC: Pillars of Water: By stabbing his trident into the ground, Poseidon can cause pillars of water to emerge from the ground that will attempt to slam the opponent up into the air and soak them throughly. Roughly ten pillars will emerge before they stop coming so it is possible to dodge but one needs to be extremely quick on their feet to do so as they come very hastily. Cooldown: 3 posts
Ground Shocker: By electrifying his trident and stabbing it into the ground, Poseidon can create a cone of electricity in front of himself that extends about five meters as earth conducts electricity very poorly. In the case that the earth is moist with water though from a previous ability (EX: Pillars of Water), the range can extend as far as the Pillars of Water went although the effect is dampened and not as potent. Cooldown: 2 Posts

OOC: Nothing to worry about. Go with whatever you're able to.
IC:
This Heartless began to laugh at Yukimura. It began a speech, talking of who it was with the a powerful voice. Indeed, its words spoke with power that resonated into him, but it was full of pride... An aspect of personality that shall make anyone blind to thought or strategy. In this case, that pride came from the power that this Heartless seemed to have absorbed, either recently or not.
"God of the Sea, the Earth, and the Steed, hmm?"
The swordsman paused, as multiple geysers erupted towards him just after the Heartless stabbed teh ground. There was no slow development of these geysers. They immediately erupted with warning, except for the shaking in the ground. The shaking was quickly moving towards Yukimura, causing the swordsman to move. He quickly activated Thunder burst, to make sure he got a good distance. A few geysers had already erupted and seemed to be spaced out at random different lengths, making it unpredictable. However, from what Yukimura could tell, they were erupting from underneath the Earth and seemed to shake the ground as the water shot up through it. That had to mean that the more rapid shaking there was, the closer Yukimura was to a geyser.
From his starting position, Yukimura used 6 steps to get 36 feet away from his previous position. Yukimura counted the number of geysers that had erupted behind him, seeing a total of 8 pillars so far. The ground shook heavily beneath him, causing him to nearly loose control of his foots. He used his remaining steps to stagger into a wrecked home. He used his sword as a crutch, to keep his footing. The pillar outside that erupted was large, but it seemed it wasn't over yet. Another extreme shake was felt underneath the floor. Yukimura looked around and dove into an open closet, which had a hole leading back outside.
He tumbled on the ground, losing grip of his sword, as he nearly got hit by the pillar of water. The swordsman was panting for air, as he looked at the pillars. They died almost as fast as they came, seeming to be over. Yukimura let out a relieving sigh and went over to his sword to pick it up. The ground was soaked with water now and his sword was right next to a massive puddle from the geyser. He picked it up immediately and walked back towards the main road of the town. It was drenched severely and was pouring into the alleys.
Yukimura pointed his sword at the fake Poseidon and shouted, "Is that the best you can do?! I'm disappointed, you child of a Heartless!"
As Yukimura approached, the swordsman was pulled to an immediate stop, seeing the Heartless stab the water-drenched earth once more. Yukimura assumed that more pillars were going to be formed, so he quickly ran down the road opposite of where he flew out of the house before. Yukimura had to find out how to approach the Heartless with his weapon before he could assault him. The Heartless was dangerous at a distance and would also prove a challenge up close, with its trident and any other abilities it may have.
Yukimura came to a stop, not feeling any vibrations underneath him. Yukimura began to ponder on what had happened. Was the Heartless not able to fully grasp its new powers? If that were the case, then Yukimura would probably be able to assault it easily. However, the swordsman didn't know what to expect from the Heartless. It was also possible that the Heartless was using another ability, in order to damage Yukimura a lot more than the swordsman expected.
"Hmm... It might have done something to the water that had erupted earlier... If that is the case, I should do my best to avoid the water that erupted on that street and lure it elsewhere, so I can approach without worrying," the swordsman thought out loud. He brought his left hand to his chin and scratched it a little, developing a plan in his head. Yukimura was capable of fighting in close quarters combat and also able to fight in open terrain. Being that the Heartless had long ranged abilities, along with a weapon that could prevent Yukimura from approaching any closer than its reach, Yukimura couldn't actually get closer to it.
"AH! That should do it!"
Yukimura strapped his sword onto his back and ran back to main street, where the Heartless was. He brought both hands to his mouth and shouted, " You're not a God! You're not even a Heartless! You wanna know what you are?! You're worse than Nothing! You're so weak, everything wants you away! Even Nothingness doesn't want you!"
After shouting out his insult, Yukimura ran away as fast as he physically could, to get out to the open plains outside the ruined city. As he did so, he brought his hands to his chest and formed a circular shaped. The moisture in the air began to condense and cool into a ball of ice that slowly began forming. He was going to riddle hundreds of holes into the Heartless as soon as he could get in range of it.

The fake Poseidon sighed lightly as his attack seemed to fail miserably after stabbing his trident into the ground to electrify the water left behind by his Pillars of Water technique. As it would seem, the opponent he was facing was just a tad smarter than average, not chancing putting his feet in a pool of water that the God had just stabbed his trident into. Indeed, he was a bit smarter than the average bear but surely he wasn’t smarter than a God, a being on an entirely different plane of existence. Surely his intelligence couldn’t hope to match that of this deity, nor his power. That being said, the God listened to the man’s insult, a thunderous roar of laughter erupting from his lips… was that the best he could think of? The taunt was easily seen through by the God, especially when the man fled immediately after as his fast as stride could carry him. Perhaps he hoped for the God to chase after him foolishly, to allow his anger to get the best of him, a notion that befitted the buffoon. On the other hand, this God certainly didn’t like such a noticeable lack of respect when he was addressed. The fact that the man still didn’t realize the situation he was in was appalling but as the saying goes, perhaps ignorance is bliss. If this man truly understood what he was facing, fear would cripple him and he would be easy pickings for the recently made God. “Hmm quite the jester you are, I can’t believe you still have any hope for victory!” he shouted at Yukimura as he quickly drew his trident out of the ground. The electricity that had been flowing throughout the water quickly stopped the water now safe to walk in once more or rather until it was electrified again. Yes, surely this battle could be taken back down to the town where it suited the fake Poseidon’s abilities the most but for now he would have to chase his quarry. But wait, why would a God do something so seemingly idiotic? Surely the man atop the grassy plains had some sort of attack ready for the God if he approached without caution! “Come to me,” the God spoke out curtly when suddenly a legion of horses made of water appeared. He would then climb atop one of them, a small smirk curving against his lips as he pointed his trident forward, “Forward!” he shouted as the horses he had summoned suddenly took off toward Yukimura. It was a stampede of horses, surely unlike any Yukimura had seen before, each one stomping the ground with an audible sound despite their liquid form. Twenty horses would attempt to trample Yukimura as he charged his attack, the water pressure from the attack meant to crush him underneath and leave him battered and bruised. To make matters worse, behind all these horse, Poseidon would follow, hoping that whatever attack Yukimura had planned to use on him would be wasted on the impeding stampede. Whether it was or not though, the God would not hesitate to charge straight into range of whatever attack Yukimura would attempt after the stampede and hold out his trident in front of him as if he were jousting. If the fool were trampled, he would position it to impale said fool into the ground but if he remained standing somehow, the fake Poseidon would attempt to stab him straight through the chest. Considering his trident’s superior range, this attack would be quite troublesome for the man to deal with. Furthermore, by mounting a horse he gained both an advantage in speed and high ground, an advantage Yukimura would surely feel the effects of if he did not react accordingly. OOC: Watery Steed – This technique allows Poseidon to summon a legion of horses made of water. The max amount he can summon with this technique is twenty and if used with a lightning technique, the horses can be charged with electricity. Regardless, the legion of horses will charge the enemy and attempt to trample them and crush them with water pressure similar to that of a fire hose. These horses can be easily felled with a light attack but depending on the number summoned, an AoE attack may be required to deal with them properly. Also, Poseidon can ride any of the horses he summons if he pleases. Cooldown: 3 posts, Duration: 2 posts (unless otherwise slain). Pillars of Water – 2 post cooldown remaining Ground Shocker – 1 post cooldown remaining.

Yukimura reached the end of the town and looked behind himself, to see if the Heartless moved to chase him. He smiled slightly and looked down at the ice condensing between his hands. It had been reaching the point Yukimura was hoping for, but he wouldn't be able to use it yet. Charging this ability was strenuous and made it difficult for Yukimura to counter anything. The swordsman had to focus on dodging whatever came at him.
The swordsman ran outside of the town and focused more moisture into the ice, increasing its size. Due to the increased surplus of water in the area, the moisture being absorbed into the ice caused it to greatly increase in size. However, it was poorly condensed. It was technically ready, but Yukimura needed it to be very firm, so that he could riddle as many holes he could into his foe.
Yukimura got a reasonable distance from the ruined civilization and whirled around. He was beginning to feel a bit worn out, but he could still go for a while longer. The Heartless had a smirk on its face, as it summoned a number of steeds from the water around. At the sight of it, Yukimura quirked, "Guess that's where you get that title of yours..."
The horses rumbled down the plains at Yukimura. The swordsman sighed in exhaustion and, oddly, boredom. Yukimura waited a little bit, simply focusing his energy on forming the ice a little more. The water that formed chilled and melded with the ice chunk. The horses got within 20 yards, the swordsman ran to his left as fast as he could. A plan developed in his mind to try and ride on one of these horses. The reason for this was that the horses seemed to have been condensed enough to be ridden. It was similar to the technique, so to speak, with Yukimura's current technique.
However, that wasn't a risk the swordsman couldn't take. What was best was for Yukimura to head into the town again. If he could cause the horses to smash into the debris, they would probably end. The swordsman darted right, towards the town. He looked towards the right, to see where the horses and the Heartless were at precisely. If Yukimura could charge and land Hail Burst, he would be able to damage the Heartless greatly.

OOC: I apologize for the wait as I’ve been busy and have been struggling to make muse for this post. IC: As the horses darted toward the swordsman, only a small amount of yardage separating them, the pseudo God’s eyes feel upon the hands of the opponent he was currently facing. While it was still a tad hard to tell from the distance, the fake Poseidon couldn’t help but believe that the attack the man was charging seemed to be one with the affinity for ice. It was an odd feeling but his assumption was beginning to be proven correct as the water in the man’s hands seemed to solidify. Now the only question was if the attack would have a large area of effect or be more for a single target. Whatever the case was, the swordsman would flee once more, the pseudo God scoffing at the reaction and just how often this man enjoyed running. “Do you honestly believe you can get away from the God of the Steed? What a foolish notion, your inexperience is painfully apparent,” he taunted as the horses easily turned to follow Yukimura. Due to their watery form, turning into each other proved to be no problem despite their close proximity, the horses that ran into each other easily sifting through their companions. From there the horses quickly caught up with the swordsman, their speed easily dwarfing what he could do on his feet alone. Once again they would continue with the earlier plan, attempting to trample the man underneath and apply several pounds of water pressure to crush his bones to dust. Meanwhile the fake Poseidon had rethought his plan, deciding to stop the chase. While he was rather certain he could easily handle whatever attack the man would send at him, he wasn’t about to needlessly pursue him and get caught in a trap. The attack the man was charging could very well be one with a wide area of effect after all, or perhaps a great amount of precision that would be able to pick him out from the rest of the legion of horses. If that were the case, taking needless damage wasn’t on the fake God’s agenda and he wasn’t about to make things easy for this arrogant buffoon. No, if the man wanted to close the distance he would have to do so himself and take the risk that came with approaching a God’s might head on. Otherwise, the false deity was more than willing to wait and pelt him with long range attacks that were his specialty as he begun to get more used to his newfound power… and speaking of which. “May Hades have mercy on your soul although I doubt my brother shall do so,” Poseidon commented as he remained stationary on his horse and pointed his spear forward. Whatever the result of the stampeding horse attack was or not, seeing as their presence would soon leave the battlefield, the pseudo God felt it was time to put this evasive rat out of its mercy. Thus, he would take careful aim as he charged lightning within his Trident, the energy cackling violently and causing a large amount of noise. The amount of power that was being charged was frightening, the attack sure to be devastating if it struck accurately. But much like Yukimura, Poseidon would need some time to charge the ability and depending on what Yukimura did next, what the attack would come as could change drastically. Whatever the case was, it would be imperative that the brash young man prepared himself otherwise… death would surely follow. OOC: Electric Charge – Poseidon can charge his Trident with electrical energy that can be used in many ways (1 post charge). It can be used to shoot out a bolt of lightning that stretches over 50 yards but in a very straight and small line which can make it easy to dodge in theory. It can also be used to enhance any of his other electrical techniques and increase their power by 50%. The last way the technique can be utilized is to charge Poseidon’s melee attacks using his Trident. This ability takes one turn to charge and if used with melee has a duration of two posts, otherwise its one use before cool down is activated. Cooldown = 2 Posts, Duration = 2 Posts. OOC: Not to worry. This is something that takes time getting used to.
IC:
Yukimura cursed in disbelief! The horses and the Heartless were able to to cross through each other without disappearing! The swordsman looked forward, measuring the distance he had, to find he was farther than away than he hoped. Yukimura would have to predict and hope to evade the horses expertly as they try to smash him.
Yukimura looked behind himself, to see the horses were in a randomized formation. He thought to himself, "This'll be tough. They can run through each other and continue their stride with no problem..."
The first few horses were running through each other, like a pendulum swinging back and forth. He couldn't tell exactly what was happening though, so Yukimura would have to be prepared for it. The horses stampeded towards him at a rapid pace, screeching as they did. Yukimura dug his feet into the ground, as he rapidly turned to his left. He had to avoid these horses as long as he could. Hail blast wasn't ready yet still.
The horses closest to Yukimura had turned rapidly, taking lead in the chase as the others turned to continue pursuit. Yukimura could feel the pounding of watery hooves into the Earth under his feet. The swordsman was tiring out, his stride slowing down. Focusing the moisture in the air whilst running for his life was an exercise he hadn't necessarily been prepared for. Especially when it was being chased by watery death!
The horses were right upon the swordsman again. His muscles were aching greatly and didn't let up. However, the swordsman had to muster all he could now. Yukimura had managed to get close to a house in town finally! One of the horses rode pass him towards the house, as if it were trying to prevent him from doing so. The swordsman roared and jumped inside the open door, continuing to run through the house. He could hear the horses smashing into the drenched building, as they tried to approach. However, as they did, the rumble of the heavy hooves decreased more and more.
Yukimura jumped through a gap in a wall, leading into an alleyway. He tumbled into the wall and looked at the house he jumped out of. One of the horses had nearly reached him, but crashed into the wall! Yukimura was drenched from the impact! He cursed silently and repeatedly, thinking that it might have reached him. However, he had a smile on. One reason was that he managed to evade a group of stampeding horses! He had never done that before, simply because he didn't have to in the past. His master taught him how be enhance himself to be faster than most animals with magical abilities and how to evade attacks coming at him.
The other reason was in between his palms, glistening slightly in the light barely hitting the alley. His spell was complete charged and ready to tear apart this 'God'.

As the horses had been miraculously evaded once again, the one that Poseidon himself was seated upon disappeared and he landed on his feet lightly. The trident in his hand was now charged with a frightening amount of power, the type of power only a god would possess especially that of an electrical nature. Yes, the attack he had planned for the boy would be quite shocking and considering how much said boy had run already, surely his legs were getting extremely exhausted and Poseidon's next attack would be successful. Thus without a moment's hesitation, said deity pointed his trident toward the direction Yukimura had fled to get away from the horses that had been in hot pursuit. "It is quite convenient that I am both a god and a Heartless," the deity commented as he smirked lightly. Indeed, this trait of his would allow him to better aim this shot that he was about to take as he used the ability all Heartless had to sense hearts from a distance. When he locked onto the trace of Yukimura's heart, his eyes would soon follow to that area and whether or not Yukimura was approaching or not already mattered little. Indeed, the range of this attack was immense and it's speed unlike any other technique he had and the god planned to blast a hole through this man's chest for his insolence.
"Perish you foolish human," he stated as a giant bolt of lightning shot out of his trident, heading straight at Yukimura and the god dug his heels into the ground. Despite his efforts, the bolt of lightning had been so powerful that he had still been pushed back several feet. He stomped his right foot forward, stopping himself as he readied himself in a stance that would be more suited for close range combat. Yes for while the god was rather certain the rat would be hit by his attack, he also had a feeling that this boy wouldn't go down easily. Indeed, he seemed rather resilient if nothing else, and if the battle became a close range battle, Poseidon would be ready for it.

Yukimura slowly rose to his feet, breathing still heavy. His arms were feeling heavy and his concentration slipping. He had to get up close so he could shred the heartless to pieces, but he had to get the Heartless to come close to him. If he ran towards the heartless, he would be hit by whatever the Heartless had planned.
As Yukimura was thinking, a powerful bolt of Lightning crashed through the house and smashed into the swordsman's chest, shattering the large chunk of ice between his hands. Yukimura was sent through the house behind him and broke several columns, collapsing the room. Where on earth did that bolt of lightning come from?! Yukimura ended up on the other side of the house, splinters sticking out his back. The lightning bolt seared through his clothes and left black smolders on Yukimura's chest. The electricity was still surging through his body, sending an incalculable number of messages to Yukimura's brain.
The swordsman's brain actually shut down from all the electrical messages. He was buried underneath the rubble of the house, his head and upper torso managing to remain out of the debris. His eyes were remaining up, staring emptily at the sky above him. The clouds above shifting in front of the sun.
"Get up..."
Yukimura's brain began working again, registering the pain that was shooting through him. His sight recovered, the sun glaring at him. He cursed and shifted slowly underneath the rubble. He pushed the debris on his torso off him. It stung as he sat up. The splinters dug all over on his body, some more deeply than others, but the swordsman ignored them.
He managed to push all the debris off himself, but his legs were damaged badly. The swordsman would have to think of a new way to eliminate this Heartless.
"Burn him...
"Yeah... No need to tell me that..."
Yukimura reached over his back, cringing slightly from the pain on his back. He grabbed his blade, drew it from its sheath, and laid it next to him. He twisted around, as he slipped off his cloak. He pulled it out from underneath himself and set it aside. He then brought his feet close to himself. He untied the laces and pulled off each of his boots, strings of pain being plucked as he did.
"Hm... What are you planning, Yukimura," Fang asked.
Yukimura quietly responded, "A do or die plan... Care to watch?"
No response came from the sword. Yukimura looked around and grabbed a couple of thin planks and slipped them inside his boots. He placed them right underneath some of the debris. Yukimura place cloak under the debris, as well, making sure the bottom was sticking out and cover the planks, but not the boots. He grabbed his sword and then laid on his stomach. Yukimura pulled himself under part of the debris he could hide underneath. He made sure to get all of himself under all the way, so that not a single part of him could be seen.
Yukimura began to focus magic energy in his right hand, heat developing quickly in it. Yukimura was charging up to ignite the entire area in a fiery blaze. The Heartless was arrogant, so it might come up and skewer him with its trident. When it did, Yukimura would blow up to hell and force it to its knees. The debris should be blown away and reveal Yukimura, upon which Yukimura would quickly stab the Heartless, but only if the Heartless was near by. Other wise, he would have to get out of the area and recover somewhere else in the town via a corridor of darkness.

The crack of thunder… such a glorious sound it was. Indeed, when a bolt of lightning struck the boom that came after was almost euphoric at least to this recently made God, seeming to get more than just powers from it earlier attempt of snatching Poseidon’s Heart. Yes, he also seemed to be picking up bits and pieces of the deity’s personality as he continued to adjust to the power during this battle. The longer this fight dragged on, it seemed the more the Heartless would get used to the power it had received. And the feeling was amazing, this sense of mightiness having never been felt by the Heartless and despite its efforts not to, this power was getting to its head. Thus when he sensed Yukimura’s heart once more, he could tell it was wavering and that his blow had indeed hit directly. It had been a devastating blow but the man was still alive although this was to his benefit anyway, he wanted to teach the fool how wrong he had been to pick a fight with a God. “Yes I think I shall go to him, he probably can’t even move right now,” he mused with a smirk on his face as he began to walk down the hill he had been perched upon. As he made his way toward the heart he was sensing, he began to look over the amount of damage he had done to this unsuspecting town. A wicked smile crept up on his face as he examined it, amazed that mere moments ago he could never had dreamed of causing the same havoc. Indeed, such destruction, such mayhem would be impossible in his previous shell, that body far too weak to annihilate an entire town in minutes. Not only that, but he was getting stronger with each passing second, he could feel it with each breath the power surge within him. No longer would this Heartless be just cannon fodder for keybearers to smash, no he would defeat all of them and steal their hearts! “I should thank this fool for allowing me to test and get used to my power,” he commented as he finally found the rubble that Yukimura had been hiding in. He could feel the man’s heart and within close proximity but saw nothing of the rat. It was at that point he thought perhaps the man had fallen underneath the rubble, trapped after being blasted by the bolt of lightning earlier. With that thought in mind the deity put sighed lightly shaking his head, a chuckle escaping his lips soon after. “You know for a fool that had been so confident in his victory, it certainly seems like you are far from achieving it. I can still sense your heart so I know you’re around here boy, probably underneath all this rubble. That being said we can end this battle in one of two ways. One, you could dig yourself up from the rubble and allow me to end your life painlessly. I have only recently acquired this power and thus I have to show some gratitude for allowing me to experiment with it. Option number two is you simply lay there and be crushed by tons of water pressure which while quick will be incredibly painful. The choice is yours boy as you surely have no chance of defeating me. Speak your last words now as well if you wish before I steal your heart,” the God proclaimed, the arrogance in his voice easy to catch. With all this said though, he would stand at the ready none the less, holding his trident in front of him with both hands as he stood with his feet shoulder width apart. His stance seemed to radiate confidence as he smirked, sure that his own victory was guaranteed at this point. Whatever the boy threw at him now would be useless, or so he thought anyway.

(Sorry it took so long to reply. College has been a bit bad on me so far.)
Yukimura remained quiet and still. He waited for the sound of the Heartless's approach. Granted, this would probably be a bad idea, but what else could Yukimura do? He was heavily wounded from that lightning assault. It was a do or die situation, at this point. Even conjuring up a corridor of darkness, at this point, would yield to only delay this heartless's hunt for him.
The fake God's voice came within ear shot after a few minutes. Typical, a Heartless gets power and thinks it's the best thing around. It proved this opinion of it by rubbing in its so-called 'victory' over the swordsman. He even gave the swordsman one of two ways to die. Painless or not were Yukimura's given options. However, if the swordsman's plan worked out, then a third option, where Yukimura lives, could come into account.
"Hm... In all these years that I've lived, ever since I managed to obtain eternal youth... Well, a cease of again, anyway," the swordsman divulged painfully from under the rubble, "Heh heh... I never really thought of last words to say. I do, suppose, have one thing to say..."
He grinned under the rubble, as the 'God' approached arrogantly. Yukimura silently whispered, "You'll be a nice addition... To my power!"
Yukimura slammed the ground with his right hand, expelling his concentrated magic into the ground. The magic quickly heated the ground and exploded outward, flinging the rubble upward as dark, cobalt flames furiously engulfed everything, except for Yukimura. He slowly stood up, his clothes torched slightly by the flames, except for his coat and boots. He used his sword as a crutch to stand up. He looked around himself, to see if he managed to damage or, hopefully speaking, burnt the dark 'deity' into ash.
"Even a God's might can't stand darkness. You are a disgrace of a heartless if you can't even handle an attack of this magnitude... So where are you Heartless?"

After Yukimura had said his piece and initiated his attack, the Heartless couldn’t help but be surprised. Indeed, while he had expected the man to go down swinging, he certainly hadn’t expected such a strong retaliation. The flames engulfed the area as they exploded outward, pushing back the deity with relative ease and burning him severely. The pain was intense; washing over the Heartless’ recently acquired body and spreading a sensation around it unlike any he had experienced before. Yes, it was quite unlike anything he had felt before for he had never felt and thus was feeling pain for the first time. He screamed at the top of his lungs cursing this new body for having such a glaring weakness before tumbling against the ground after having been pushed back so far by the explosion. He gritted his teeth as he began to push himself up, anger (or at least what he thought was anger) rising along with him. He offered his opponent mercy and this was how he repaid him?! “Foolish mortal I shall be sure to slay you with all my might! I will not grant you any more mercy so die for your insolence!” he shouted as he gripped the Trident tightly in his hand, still able to wield it since he had been pushed back by the earlier explosion. He pounded it against the ground beneath his feet, the earth beginning to rumble as he did so. Within a moment, the attack he had used earlier, Pillars of Water was initiated and headed straight toward the swordsman. Whether this would prove to be effective or not the deity certainly wondered but only gave it a moment’s thought. Indeed for as soon as he had sent the attack toward the swordsman he began another, his Ground Shocker technique. It followed behind shortly after the pillars that headed toward Yukimura, the intent quite obviously to take advantage of all the water that had spilled on the battlefield thus far. Indeed, from both Poseidon’s earlier attacks and his more recent ones, there was a surplus of water soaked into the ground. While the swordsman fire was certainly hot, there was no way it would evaporate all the water that had been thrown about the battlefield instantly. That being noted, the deity certainly wanted to take advantage while that variable was still there as he had no idea how long the man’s fire would last on the field of battle. Regardless of the duration, after sending his two attacks he would quickly flee back to the hill he had been on earlier, retreating much like the swordsman had for the majority of fight. I hate to admit it but… I can only use those four moves so far and if I get caught by that fire… I’m afraid I might die, he thought as a shiver went down his spine… these feelings were really tiresome. OOC: Yo no problem senior, it’s a sidequest so it’s supposed to move at a leisurely pace anyway ^_^! Just get to it when you can knah I mean? (Fixed the problem with this. Let me know if there is anything wrong with this and I'll try to accommodate.)
Yukimura turned towards the street, to see the Heartless screaming in agony from the fires. To see the heartless in such a state, Yukimura laughed quietly. Observing the Heartless's expression of rage and confusion, Yukimura laughed harder.
"Hah hah hah hah! What were you expecting? That I would actually take up your seemingly 'merciful' offer? HAH! To be given mercy from a lesser entity that managed to get a good shot on me is an insult! You were given the opportunity to eliminate me from this existence, and what do you do?"
Yukimura paused, as the Heartless stabbed into the ground. More pillars of water shot into the ground. His eyes flared open in disbelief. He tried to move, but unbearable pain shot through him when he tried. The flames of his ability lingered still, but they did not encompass the great heat that they once had. Yukimura had to leave it up to chance though.
The ancient voice of his sword appeared in his head, snickering, "My... Such a predicament you are in, my young lad. Whatever shall you do?"
"Shut up..."
"If I weren't mistaken, it looks as though you're about to die by this Heartless!"
"I SAID SHUT UP!" Yukimura shouted in his mind, clenching his teeth in anger. The ground erupted into a geyser under him, shooting him up into the air. His flames dissipated when this happened, preventing him from blocking the damage. The unbearable pain was amplified extremely, not only from the geyser of water, but the fall from such a great height into the street, and then from the Heartless's electrical attack.
This forced Yukimura's body to shut down immediately. His gaze became glazed over, his body limp and heavy. Tiny wisps of electricity spread through his drenched body. His sword had landed by his head, the blade stuck out of it. His heart did not beat any more. He had fallen to the Heartless... or so it seemed.
Yukimura's Mind/Heart
The swordsman was lying on the ground, his body just as limp as his living... or 'dead' self, he guessed. He had, though, been able to move his head. He looked around, at the devastated town he was in. He looked up the road, expecting to see the Heartless. However, that was not what he had seen. Instead, a darkened version of himself was in its place, sitting upon a throne of black with blue cushions. He was dressed in a white coat, much like his own, white pants, shirts, and boots. Dragon's Fang spun on its tip as the alter ego spun it.
"... Another one of these visions, I'm guessing?" Yukimura assumed to the darker him. No response. He simply stared at the limp Yukimura, bright amber-blue eyes observing at him. It gave an unsettling feeling to Yukimura.
"So... What happens-"
Yukimura's alter ego stomped on the ground, sending out a powerful shock wave at everything around. It sent Yukimura flying off the ground and into a large, muddy puddle. The pain felt so real upon impact! This disturbed Yukimura to a great extent. He looked down the road, to shout at the alter ego, to only see it in front of him. It grabbed him by the color of his shirt with his left hand and lifted him with incredible ease. Yukimura screamed in pain, cursing at the darker him.
"You mother @$%#! If I could move right now, then I would kill you an-"
"Then what's stopping you?" It interrupted. "Before you even try to answer, I will tell you! What restrains you is only the shackles you've attached to yourself!"
After saying that, inhumanly heavy shackles latched onto Yukimura's wrists and ankles. It let go of Yukimura, to allow him to fall flat on the ground. He shouted in pain, as he roared, "RELEASE ME! I WILL KILL YOU! I SWEAR IT, IF YOU DON'T!"
"No you will not. You will never, until you free yourself of these shackles that you've bound to yourself," it stated, as it brought Dragon's Fang to his neck. Yukimura glared with rage at the alter ego. It brought its blade up, seemingly to strike Yukimura. The swordsman closed his eyes, expecting the worse to come. Was this truly going to be his end?

As Yurimuka's conscious retreated back into his body, the Heartless that took on the powers and image of Poseidon had his shadow fall over the unconscious body. With a deep, foreboding chuckle and a surging crackle of electricity snapping violently across his trident, the Heartless went to lift up his weapon to point the tip of the pronged weapon downwards to finish off his opponent. Lifting the two-handed weapon over his head as if about to impale the polearm through Yukimura's torso and into the cracked and drenched pavement blow, there was a sudden sizzling sound as the Heartless sudden felt a blazing burn through his body, an intense pain that it could barely gain mental conscious to keep itself standing. It tried to run the apparently unconscious human through with it's humongous forged fork, but the world around him was suddenly awashed with flame, as the burning from Yukimura's final sneak attack emblazoned most of it's body with dark fire. Like a poison effect it had done damage over time, and as the Heartless dropped to the ground to try and put itself out, it was already too late. It's body dispersed as darkness peeled off it, it's form corroding as a large heart made of light and magic burst from it's body and floated up into the twilight Greek sky.
Then all feel silent as the battle was finally over. Yurimuka still seemed to be battling with his inner demons, but the battle outside his body was all but over with incredibly lucky odds, allowing the swordsman to carry on his mental struggle undisturbed.
(OOC: Vincent here. Felix has left the staff, and since this thread has been running for four months, I feel it's about time to wrap it up. Congratulations Yukimura, not sure where you were going with the Dive Into the Heart you're doing there with your character, but after some deliberation your self-adversity and struggle has paid off. You have been awarded 150 munny by me, which you can spend by making a request if you wish in the Ability/Equipment Upgrade Shop. See you there and around the board, thank you for participating, and thank Felix for dungeon-mastering this.)
