Just like the Castle of Dreams, this world had changed considerably from the world that it once was before being touched by the Masked Man. The townspeople seemed to be in trance, simply going about their lives without reacting to any outward stimuli. It was eerily quiet, almost as if they were... Zombies. The strangeness of the world didn’t end there, the physical realm was as warped. The buildings all seemed to have a greenish tint, the sky a sickly blue green and water brilliant silver. The once golden sands were crimson, and what plants did manage to survive in the harsh environment of the desert were as mutated as those Cloud noticed when he first met the Masked Man. They were now overgrown, laced with purple and dotted with sickly black thorny buds. It was sickly looking... And could only make Cloud question what was really being done. Perhaps this world was recently taken, and hadn’t had time to return to normal? Well, he’d get his answers soon enough. For now, he had a job to do.
Cloud dove towards the once great palace, spreading his wing to slow his descent at the last moment before landing atop a nearby building overlooking the closed moss covered gates to the palace with a few flaps of his wing. He knelt down, taking a perch on the ceiling to gaze up at the centerpiece to this broken city. The main body was violet now, its roof an eerie green. It just looked foreboding... And sickly, with the red moss growing across its marble sides.
“She would cry if she could see it now...” Cloud lamented in a whisper, before turning his gaze back towards the sky. He wondered who the powerful Light was that was coming, threatening their world...
***Flashback***
Cloud looked over at the Masked Man, his mako eyes almost glowing in the darkness. “...What if it’s one of my friends?” he asked quietly.
“No matter who it is, we must not let them undo what little we have started.” the Masked Man replied matter of factly, as if there wasn’t any question to ask.
***End Flashback***
Cloud shook his head, turning his gaze back towards the streets. Regardless of who it was, they had to be stopped. If he didn’t know them, well, they would just be another face. Just like he was a mercenary, he’d get the job done without a second thought. If he knew them, though... Well, if he couldn’t talk them out of leaving, then he’d do what needed to be done.
The future of the worlds was more important than something as fragile as friendship. ------------------------------ Scene Music: Trail Of Blood ------------------------------ credits :: by KONYA☆[/style]

High up in the unusual coloured skies above Agrabah, a thunderous explosion echoed about the entire city, shaking the foundations of the buildings and causing a bright flash of light, brighter then the sun, to swallow the skies for the briefest of moments. As everything returned to 'normal', as normal as it could be at least, a loud sound of whirling motor powered propellers echoed across the city as a gigantic metallic bird shot down out of the bright flash of light. The thunderous explosion was actually a warp bubble collapsing and flying out of it was The Shera, airship of the first man in Outer Space. The massive metal object, seemingly defying gravity. swiftly swoop down towards the palace sitting in the middle of Argabah and begun to hover overhead, it's massive propellers speeding up as the sound they produced shifted to a higher pitch. Standing at the helm of the flying aircraft, Cid Highwind raised an eyebrow as he peered forth out of the glass windows surrounding the bridge. Lifting a gloved hand off the helm and scratching at his forehead, the Captain glanced over to see where Night had gone to before looking down at the console to his right, flicking the autopilot switch.
Walking across the bridge towards the windows, Cid peered out and looked down at what he thought was Agrabah, but due to the changes in colour, momentarily wondered if he had flown into a parallel, alternate dimension. Then he just assumed his eyes were playing tricks on him, thus he raised both hands, curled into fists, and rubbed his eyes a few times before returning his hands to his hips. "Nope... must be another dimension... How in the heck did the Shera manage to do tha'...?" Cid spoke aloud, turning about as he walked back over to the console beside the helm and kicked it, a loud thud shooting about the bridge. Several complex beeps and whistles came from the console before a long stream of paper started to splutter out a small slot with wiggly lines and all kinds of technical jargon written everywhere. Grabbing the paper and tearing some of it off, Cid browsed the nonsense written there and simply threw it over his shoulder afterwards. "... Huh. Guess this is Agrabah... Place looks pretty %^&*ed up if yer ask me."
Turning on his heels and leaving the bridge, not even looking back to see if Night was following him, Cid made his way for the outside deck where, once he reached it, kicked down a rope ladder off the edge, watching as it unraveled itself before being whipped off to one side due to the wind catching it. "NIGHT!!! Get yer ass out here NOW!!! We're headin' down." Tugging his remote out his belt, Cid hit a few buttons that caused the Shera to lurch forwards suddenly, before slowly lowering itself down enough so the end of the rope ladder touched down inside the courtyard of the royal palace. The blonde-haired pilot however, simply jumped off the deck, plummeting down to the ground below where he landed in a crouch with a massive thud. Standing up and dusting his hands off, Cid glanced upwards to see where Night was but instead changed his mind and started to admire the view of his wonderful airship instead. "She really is a beaut! Better send her off somewhere safe so the locals don't think they're bein' invaded." Waiting until the child Keybarer made it down to his level, Cid took his remote from his belt once more and inputted a command that caused the Shera to raise up into the air, before blasting off across the city and into the desert.
Tucking his remote into his belt, Cid clapped his hands together and grinned and he started to make his waya cross the courtyard towards the huge gates leading out into the streets of Agrabah. Last time he was here, the Captain discovered a new and unknown type of Gummi Block. After bumping into Tseng of the Turks however, Cid believed he may have dropped it and thus had returned to see if he could find it again. Little did he know of the dangers that lurked ahead, but this WAS Cid. You think he'd care what lay ahead? As the sandy floor underfoot crunched subtly as the AVALANCHE member walked across it, Cid paused and glanced over his shoulder when reaching the huge gates. "Y'alright kid? Y'do know what a Gummi Block is don't ya'? I ain't gonna be pleased if yer gonna slow me down!"

A figure appeared in front of the palace gates. No corridor of darkness did he use, no flash of light did he make, he simply seemed to pop right into existence in front of the gates. It was eerie, just like the world around him, and even more eerily did he seem to blend in with the silent place… He took a few steady steps forward, just like the Red Death Masquerader did through those seven colored rooms in Prince Prospero’s castle, paying no mind to those townsfolk that went around their tasks somewhat robotically. Just like that figure did he bring the threat to those around him, but they had not notice him yet… They would probably never notice him, not until it was far, far too late. The eyes behind the mask he wore shift to and from the people, as a smirk of satisfaction pulled up on his lips even though not a soul could see it. Things were exactly as planned, this world was the way it was supposed to be…
The rush of wings ended the eerie silence. No… wing, singular wing. The eyes of the infamous Masked Man looked on the airborne Cloud Strife as the “Ex-Soldier” made a decent on a building not too far from the gates in which the Masked Man stood in front of. Cloud… what an uncanny capture. Who else would have thought that this once famed hero would now be under his control? Who else could not see the beauty of this prize? “Cloud.” his voice wasn’t loud but in the silence of the world, he was certain Cloud would hear him. “Do you hear them arriving?”
The sounds of the airship flying over the world got louder and closer quite quickly. The ship seemed to hesitate in the sky for a few minutes before beginning to make its descent above the palace and into the court yards. Not a single person of the world even seemed to notice the airship descending or ascending and flying back into the desert. It was as if they were Zombies doing only what their hearts told them to do and nothing more.
The man in the mask let out a sigh as he felt the presence of light on the other side of the gate. Things had to be made difficult? Of course the Light felt that a world so out of the way like this was so easy to capture. I will… prove them wrong then. [/i] The Masked Man motioned to Cloud to join him down on the ground in front of the gates. As soon as the one-winged demon stood next to him the Masked Man pointed to the gates. “No matter who they are, they are enemies to our path, Cloud. Remember that. he said to reassure the blonde’s head was exactly where it needed to be. A violet stream of magic, similar to what corrupted the keyhole in the Castle of Dreams poured from the man in the mask’s hand. The vines on the door seemed to grow thicker, glowing with the eerie substance before they cracked and through open the gates with an ungodly bang. Into the courtyard stepped the Masked Man, Cloud at his flank. The castle looked just as the Masked Man could ever hope for it to look, distorted, corrupted, and his to have. And now there were very few who could take it from him. Standing in the middle of the Courtyard was an older blond who resembled a pilot and a younger child who looked somewhat like the famed keyblader of this universe. This made the Masked Man wonder if there was any relation between the kid before him and Light attacking this world. Regardless the man in the mask made a slow and steady walk towards the Light duo. “I’d advise you to leave. This word is not yours to take.” he spoke in a voice that inserted finality in his statement, leaving little room for agreement. He did not expect to convince light twice to accept his claim, he was willing to fight. Exactly why he had Cloud. [/blockquote]

Night had never even seen a flying ship before meeting Cid let alone rode in one, and it made this young man extremely nervous. This whole flying metal monster shouldn't be up in the air at all. How it accomplished such a feat was way beyond Night's understanding. He sighed in relief as they finally seemed to slow down, though his grip didn't falter still terrified that they would fall or something. How did he get talked into this. He looked toward Cid as he moved toward the windows to see the world they had landed on, Night to afraid to move from his spot so just waited for Cid to say something. A brow raised when the blond man seemed confused watching as he was going to the console and cries out in panic when the captain hit it.
"What is wrong with you don't do that!" Night found himself yelling especially when there were a bunch of creepy beeps now coming from it. What was happening? Why was it happening? What the heck did he do!? That was when some paper came out and he read it making Night confused on how he mentioned it was messed up. Curiosity hit him as he let go of the console the first time this whole trip and walked toward the window to have a gander. Eyes just blinking at the looks of this world, was this what happened to worlds when they weren't controlled by either light or dark? Or was it something that the person who captured this world did. What were these weird colors?
"NIGHT!!! Get yer ass out here NOW!!! We're headin' down." He flinched as he heard Cid yell, looking behind him now noticing he was gone. Though there was a slight joy in him hearing that they were finally getting off this metal monster, the keyblader quickly walking out of the helm to the outside, the whole time holding onto the wall in case anything happened. And just as he was at the door, he noticed Cid with his remote thinking nothing of it at first until the whole ship jerk forward and lowered itself. A frightened yelp coming from Night as he he griped onto the edge of the ship, his body shaking completely terrified, really how did could this guy be so clam? Blue eyes watched as Cid just jumped down with ease as if it were nothing. 'Show off' Night couldn't help but think as he noticed ladder that had been left out for him. Crawling to it Night looked down once more before beginning to go down the ladder. He was very slow about it, but he finally he was on safe ground once again. If Night didn't find it weird he probably would have hugged the ground and kissed it. "Thank god for solid land again" he couldn't help but mutter, it wasn't that he was afraid of heights, heck he could fly on his own using his keyblade but that metal contraption scared him to no end, if he were to lose the ability to fly on his own he wouldn't know what he'd do.
He looked up as he watched Cid removed his ship to else where, probably for the best seeing as by the looks of this place they didn't have things like this either. Night followed slowly after Cid as he headed to the gate stopping behind him as he ask him if he was alright and knew what a 'Gummi Ship' was. The keyblader nodded about being alright, "I don't even think you'd be pleased even if I did, ummmmm," he replied at first taking a moment to think about what it was, "Well I know a gummy is a type of candy so its a candy in shape of a cube maybe? he questioned at first obviously not having a clue, "But then I doubt you'd come out here for candy so maybe something for your metal monster thing?" he asked still unsure of the whole thing.
Suddenly there was a slight shine with his bracelets and suddenly Night began to feel a familiar presence from across the door, and suddenly BANG the gate flew open. Night using his arms to cover his eyes from the dust and sand that scattered due to the blow. The keyblader quick to summon his keyblade at what could be a possible threat. Eyes narrowing at the two on the other side of the gate. Some guy in a mask that had a creepy aura about him and the spiky hair blond man from that one scared world. A slight shiver of fear going through his spine wondering if they were going to need to fight once again. Especially since he had already lost to the solider once. His eyes narrowed as the mask man spoke, "Are you the one responsible for what has happened to this world?" he questioned ignoring the masked man's demand to leave. Why else would he defend this world because it was obviously not normal.

As the thunderous explosion announcing the ship’s arrival echoed throughout the desert Sky nodded, silently acknowledging the Masked Man’s statement while his eyes turned skywards towards the large metal airship as it descended upon the castle. As it slowed to a stop above the corrupted castle Cloud’s eyes widened in recognition, and he felt his heart stop in his chest as the recognition hit him like a Meteor to the head.
It was the Shera, commanded by none other than AVALANCHE’s unknowingly new leader: Cid Highwind. He narrowed his eyes and looked down towards the Masked Man, a heavy feeling in his heart as he leaped from atop the building and landed nimbly besides his new Master. Slowly standing tall, Cloud let out a sigh as he nodded. It didn’t matter who it was, they couldn’t be allowed to take Agrabah back for the Light. Cloud could only hope he could end this before a fight broke out, maybe whoever was with Cid would listen and could talk sense into the hot headed captain.
Cloud didn’t find comfort in the shouts that came from the Shera as Cid disembarked. Who was Night? And why didn’t he hear any of the other’s voices? Had Cid come to Agrabah with someone else to try and take it back for the Light? No, Cid wasn’t one to get involved in the problems of the worlds unless it was caused by the Heartless or ShinRa. He could hear Cid ranting something about Gummy Blocks, maybe that was the reason he was here. If it was, maybe if he could convince Cid that danger was coming he could convince the pilot to head home, or at least prevent a battle which could potentially lead to the Light managing to wrap its clutches around the world once again. His mako blue eyes followed the Shera, making sure it wasn’t up to any tricks before he turned his attention back towards the Masked Man. Hopefully violence was only a last resort, and the Masked Man would be fine with a diplomatic end to the encounter... Much like he’d had with Cloud back at the Castle of Dreams.
Speaking of that world, Cloud watched as the same dark energy that he’d witnessed corrupt the keyhole emanate from the hand of his Master, further corrupting the vines upon it before they burst open the gates with that ungodly bang. Was that really necessary? He could’ve just as easily forced it open with his own hands... There was no reason to keep using that Dark-Neutral power. Cloud kept his doubts to himself however, there was no reason to believe that he didn’t have the best intentions. Though his methods were... A bit unorthodox, what he was trying to do was a true and noble cause. That’s all that mattered to Cloud, that’s what he kept telling himself. He flanked the Neutral’s Knight into the courtyard, his eyes carrying the same dark threat that the antagonist’s voice did across the sands.
Cloud’s eyes fell first upon Cid, he was as gruff and tough looking as ever. At least he still wasn’t smoking. Next they fell upon the kid he ran across in Deep Jungle, that managed to escape by the skin of his teeth from the total defeat Cloud had in store for him. If he was with Cid, it was unlikely that he’d learned his lesson about siding with either the Light of Darkness. Cloud would have to make sure to take those bracelets away from him when this was over, not being able to rely on his equipment would be the only way that the kid would be able to learn how to balance the two forces in his heart. So his name was Night huh? Fitting for a user so talented in the Darkness without fully dabbing into it like he’d done.
The threatening tone of the Masked Man’s voice didn’t escape the notice of the Imaginary SOLDIER, and Cloud brought his hand up to rest upon the cloaked shoulder while his eyes met with those behind the mask. Leave this to me, Cloud thought, his eyes making the same plea as his mind before he widened his step and made his way in front of the Masked Man. He stopped a few feet from Cid and Night, glancing the boy over again before setting his eyes back upon his former ally. Ignoring Night’s question about the world, Cloud was quick and blunt with his words. He wanted to end this as quickly as possible, with as little hassle as he could. Even though he was willing if necessary, Cloud wanted to avoid beating his old friend to a pulp if he could.

As the sounds of the Shera silenced the further the airship flew from it's owner, Cid realized that the whole area sounded a lot quieter and 'empty' then the last time he arrived on this world. Normally it was full with the sounds of busy everyday life as civilians and residents went about the main street buying food and other necessary items to see them through the day. Oddly, with the new paint job covering the whole area, especially noticeable when high up in the sky, there didn't 'feel' like anyone was nearby. Sure, there was the shuffling and scraping of feet coming from the other side of the massive palace gates as if there was a horde of Zombies on the other side, but the idle banter and chatter of the townsfolk and merchants doing their part to sell their products... there was none of it at all. Cid stared up at the massive gates and raised an eyebrow as to how the heck he was going to get these things open. It would have made more sense to climb down from the Shera on the other side, but never mind. Instead, the blonde-haired Captain turned about and glared at Night as he heard what reply reached his ears.
Stomping away from the palace gates, kicking up sand with each step he took, Cid marched towards Night until he was towering over him, basking him in the shade of his shadow as he loomed over the kid. "What the *&^% are ya' talkin' about?!" Cid's vulgar language echoing about the walls of the palace courtyard as he clenched a brown-gloved hand into a fist and pointed his index finger at the Keybarer before him. However, before he could say anything else, a loud creaking came from the palace gates and Cid turned about and folded his arms across his chest, frowning as he watched the large doors burst open with an incredible bang. The gust of wind created from the doors swinging open kicked up all manner of sand and dust, but after quickly slipping his goggles off his head and over his eyes, Cid snorted as he raised a hand to cover his mouth, unmoving as his bright blue eyes watched some weird looking fellow walk through the hole where the doors used to be. Once the dust settled, Cid popped his goggles back onto his hand and placed both hands onto his hips as a frustrated frown spread across his face.
The Astronaut said nothing until he heard both the weird guy in the mask and Night say their pieces. The cloaked fellow told them to leave while Night seemingly ignored that and asked in return if he was responsible for what had happened to this world. Oh, so it wasn't just Cid who had noticed this world had turned strange? Good job. For a moment the Pilot was wondering if he was going mad. Though the figure who stood behind the weirdo in the mask caused the scruffy dragoon to rethink his thoughts on going mad. Old Spiky's comment however made the AVALANCHE member frown further. Closing his eyes and lifting a gloved hand to his head, Cid brushed the sand out of his hair before scratching behind one of his ears. "It's so nice ta' see ya' again too, numbskull. Didn't think yer would fall so low as to pick on kids these days. Yer no better then those damn Turks." Cid's tone was dripping with sarcasm, especially when comparing Cloud to the Turks. Like Night, Cid ignored the Masked Man, though he ignored his very existence completely while his eyes were locked onto Cloud. Something seemed different about this numbskull and Cid couldn't put his finger on it, despite the massive clue only standing a short distance away whom wore a stupid mask.
Glancing over his shoulder, Cid eyed Night and grunted to get his attention. He then raised an arm and beckoned the Keybarer to follow him before turning about himself and stomping off through the sand past Cloud and Masked Man, heading for the gaping hole in the wall. "I dunno who ya' are... er... Man with Mask..." Cid shouted from over his shoulder, lifting up his right arm as he did so and waved thanks. "... But thanks for openin' the door. Would 'ave been a pain in the ass to 'ave jumped over carrying tha' whelp." He finished off, flicking a thumb over his shoulder to where he thought Night was, but the Captain didn't get too far before noticing the Zombie-like status of nearly everyone in sight. What the heck had happened here? There was absolutely no chance that Cid was going to obtain information from any of the merchants or residents when they were like this. A gloved hand found it's way back to Cid's head and he scratched away in confused while his other hand found a toothpick and plonked it between his teeth. "Huh?" Turning about and folding his arms across his chest, Cid watched Cloud carefully through narrowed eyes, the vein on Cid's forehead pulsing slightly as he felt the anger within his body start to rise.

The Masked Man had come to stop a few feet from where he had made his entrance into the courtyard. A hand had suddenly rested on his shoulder and the eyes behind the mask locked with those infused with Mako energy. You wish to be in charge, Cloud? the slight humor showed in the eyes of the man with the mask along with a simple nod of his head. The Masked Man wanted to see what Cloud could do.
Yet he didn’t expect what was to follow.
The child spoke first, blaming the changing world… rather accurately on the Masked Man. A smirk appeared under the mask as quiet words of “Wouldn’t you like to know, child?” issued from his mouth. He didn’t want to upstage Cloud’s attempt at being in charge, but he couldn’t not help but respond out loud.
What surprised the Masked Man the most was that Cloud knew both of the people in front of him. He quickly tried to dismiss them, using his biasness and feigned, though possibly real, concern for their well-beings. You learn fast. there was proudness in the crossed arm position that the Masked Man was now taking. But all too sadly it seemed Cloud’s words didn’t have the desired effect. The older man seemed to think Cloud was being stupid and ignored his warning entirely, basically about to take off with the kid.Not quite, Cloud. A low chuckle escaped the Mask Man’s lips when he was thanked for opening the doors. Go on and see the world then. And when Cid turned back around, just like the Man expected him to the Masked Man, standing with his back to the pilot finally spoke out loud once more.
“Things have happened here far out of your understanding. Perhaps with the proper explanation I could inform you, but I do not have the time to have other meddling in my business. It is most likely in your best intentions to follow what Cloud said and take your departure. I really do not wish for harm to come to you.” at this point the Masked Man turned to face them, his hand sliding into his cloak to rest on his well concealed weapon. “But if you continue to get in my way, I have no choice but to remove you. Do not make that mistake.”
The Masked Man was not looking for a fight, no, but he did indeed wanted to make them leave, and quickly. The cloaked figure could feel the world as it moved, knowing what was going on around it. It was a robotic version of itself with a daily grind it did not waver off the path of… unless the Masked Man did something about that. He wished not too, he really did, but if it meant keeping the world… hmm, then again the Man with the Mask was not so sure such grave errors from this world was needed. Perhaps if things got bad, cutting losses and moving to a more worthy world would work much, MUCH better.
Or perhaps they would just make it easy on him and leave as Cloud said for them to do. For some reason though… the Neutral Knight could not fathom the older man in front of them (Cid wasn’t it?) would actually do that…

Blue eyes narrowed at the masked one as he gave him a lame answer. Though none the less it answered his question. Night may not have been to this world before, but it didn't take an idiot to tell that the coloration of this world was not natural and there was just something off about it. None of it felt right. Night looked toward Cloud as he asked the both of them to leave, a small growl escaping from him as old wounds from the time they battled couldn't help but burn. He felt nervous at the thought of having to fight him again, with the sun over head he didn't have to worry about his dark spirit taking control again, but that didn't change the fact that he wasn't to sure if his light spirit could help much either. But none the less his grip tighten on his keyblade, determined to return this world to the light if it meant turning it back to normal. "Fat chance," he replied softly with a small shine on his wrist from his light spirit who was ready to back Night up if needed be.
The keyblader looked up at the air captain as he spoke to the blond guy he battled before. "You know him?" he couldn't help but question, it was a stupid question sure but he was curious on where he knew him from. Did they fight each other at one time too? No by the sound of it they were quite familiar with each other. Friends maybe? Despite how hard it seemed that this guy could be friends with anyone with his attitude. He heard the grunt from Cid, looking confused when he motioned for him to follow. Then watched as he began to walk forward. A bit baffled at first but Night quickly dismissed his keyblade and began going after him, not wanting to be left alone with the two. That was when he began noticing the state of this world a bit more, he didn't even notice Cid call him a 'welp.' Just how did this guy do this?
He looked back toward the mask man as he began to talk, saying it was to complex of an explanation and that they should do what Cloud had said. OH so that was his name. "And leave the people in this unnatural state you left them in?" he question obviously not interested in leaving. This world was hurting that much was clear.

He was trying to save his friend’s life, and all his friend was interested in was his own selfish desires. Typical, the pilot never did listen to common sense. It was becoming clear to Cloud that he’d have to use force to expel his friend; he could only hope that it wouldn’t end in his death. At least Cid hadn’t mentioned how reminiscent his current outfit, the one he’d worn when he served Chaos in the Dissidia Wars, looked to his outfit when he was masquerading as an EX-SOLDIER First Class. He spread his wing to the fullness of its span, bringing his arm half bent to his side as Ultima Weapon appeared in a flash of light within his grasp.
“I won’t ask again, it’s for your own good,” Cloud warned Cid, glaring right back into AVALANCHE’s leader’s eyes as he glared back at him. Cloud knew he could take out Cid if he needed to, he just couldn’t hold back. And since he’d already proven himself better than Night, it wouldn’t take more than a handful of attacks for the Masked Man to finish him off. Maybe in that scenario he could use the unconscious kid as collateral to force his friend into retreat. He hoped the Masked Man had a similar plan in mind, Cloud had absolutely no intention of killing their opponents. He’d just tried to save Night’s life by refusing to send him on his suicidal mission after Kefka, and Cid was a close friend he’d had for years. He couldn’t completely betray the Light like that... He just couldn’t.
Cloud narrowed his eyes as the Masked Man taunted Night, a chuckle escaping the masked figure as their opponents observed what happened to the world. He was right, there was no way they could understand what was happening to the world. Cloud barely understood himself, but it was apparently part of the natural cycle of a planet fighting against being taken out of the cycle of war because it didn’t want to be. It was what was best though, at least now it could find peace.
“The Masked Man’s right, the world is just reacting against being taken out of the battle between Light and Dark. It’ll return to normal soon, it just takes time. Just trust me; we’re doing what’s best... We’re trying to end the war between Light and Dark, not start another one. ” The “EX-SOLDIER” glanced towards Night, bringing Ultima Weapon up to rest on his shoulder. If their battle at Deep Crater was any indication, he was going to have to be taken out directly. But Cid... Well, Cloud hoped that Cid trusted his word enough to listen to him. Yeah, Cid probably had the same feeling in the pit of his stomach that Cloud did. That things weren’t completely right and that something needed to be done to correct it, but Cloud knew now was not the time. He just needed to trust Cloud like he did all those years ago, and everything would fall into place as it should.
Was he wishing for a fairy tale that could never come true?

Even though there were several people behind him, perhaps a number close to that of a hundred, maybe even more, there was no sound coming from them other then the shuffling of their feet through the sand as they continued to go about what little of their lives they still controlled. It was an eerie thing to witness as Cid turned his back on the three other figures standing within the palace courtyard. A gloved hand found it's way back to the scruffy pilot's head, his fingers scratching away as he tired to figure out this puzzle he was presented with. The state of this world with it's strange colour and lifeless citizens surely was no coincidence of both Cloud and his new masked friend being here at the same time, right? Then again, the 'ex-SOLDIER' was dressed kinda funny and why did he have that massive Ultima Weapon with him? What happened to his Tsurugi? The Masked Man felt strange as well. It was a feeling that the Pilot had not experienced before. Keeping his back to the group and watching the 'zombie-like' residents for a few more seconds, the blonde-haired astronaut reprocessed all the words that were shared between the group.
Everything that was spoken however was shoved aside when the Masked Man spoke Cloud's name and suggested that they followed his advice. This guy knew Cloud? And seeing as Cloud was acting like an idiot all of a sudden, could it be that these two were both responsible for what had happened to this world? Cid turned around and folded his arms across his chest, narrowed his eyes as he watched Cloud glare at him. A smirk spread across the Captain's lips before he started to laugh heartily at Spiky, clearly unaffected by how he was looking at him. "So ya' found a new friend an' he's corrupted ya' judgement like he's done with this world, eh Cloud? I knew you were a total dumbass but this is just *&^%ing ridiculous." Cid spoke, his voice echoing about the courtyard as he tilted his head and continued to smirk at the ex-AVALANCHE leader. Bright blue eyes remained locked onto Spiky as Cid shook his head from side to side, tutting as he did so. "So ya' can't see through ya' eyes anymore? Ya' can't see what ya' 'ave done to this world, can you? How can ya' say yer 'taken this world out the war', when ya' 'ave sucked all the life out of everythin'? Look at this place! This is what those evil guys do! Sephiroth an' the Remnants and Deepground... this is what they do ta' the world if they get the chance an' now yer are no better then them! I thought you held that over-grown sword to protect those who mattered to ya? What's Tifa and Aerith gonna say about this when I fill 'em in on yer traitorous actions? Ya' still gonna be able ta' call yerself a man when ya' make both those women cry cuz of what yer 'ave done??! I know Barret's gonna come down on ya' like a ton of bricks an' yer already lost what little respect I had for yer spiky-ass. Ya' no different from those damn Heartless now."
Cid turned and stepped towards the Masked Man, lowering his arms from before his chest and pointed a gloved finger in his direction. His smirk was still spread across his lips as he turned his attention onto whoever this guy was. "An' yer no better either!! What's this sh*t about yer 'removin' me' if I don't listen to tha' pathetic idiot behind me?" Cid said, flicking a thumb over his shoulder towards Cloud. "If ya' think ya' can manipulate my buddy like this, turn him against everythin' he once fought for, the people he loves, the things that matter to 'im, then yer gonna wish ya' NEVER crossed paths with me!! So I got a better deal for ya', Mister Masked Man. Ya' let Cloud go an' ya' run yer skinny ass outta here before I 'remove you' myself!!" A flash of light erupted from Cid's palm as he finished speaking his piece, summoning his Spear to hand and slammed the hilt against the sandy floor that caused a metallic 'ping' to echo about the courtyard. He stood there, continuing to smirk at Masked Man with utter confidence. There was nothing that scared the scruffy Captain and while Cloud was stronger then him, the Pilot certainly wasn't a push over, something both of these men would learn soon enough. "Just like Night 'ere said, we're not gonna leave these people in this state. How would ya' feel if someone came ta' yer world and turned ya' into a mindless drone??!"

The Masked Man’s attention was first drawn to the child with the key. Despite how little he was, he seemed to truly believe in that the Masked Man and possibly Cloud was responsible for the world’s state and that fixing it was the best path of action… Even though the child did speak little, his movements spoke volumes to the man behind the mask. The kid… was nervous, nervousness lead to mistakes… nervousness met lack of sureness… nervousness met he was not the biggest threat. Yet the shine that flickered on the boy’s wrists… was something to be wary of… It was always the ones you least expected to do something amazing.
The child’s response to the “zombified” people out in the world issued a small chuckle out of the Masked Man. “It is not the effect you believe it is. The world’s unnatural state is… quite shocking to the weak minded. They will be fine, give them time.”
But it was truly the pilot named Cid that caught the Masked Man’s attention. This man… ranted, truly ranted, attempting to bring Cloud down to a level in which he was hurt by it. Just as the man in the mask assumed, he would try to undo the binds that the Masked Man had over Cloud by calling him out on it. So in response, the cloaked figure took a step towards him, responding in a harsh tone.
”Simple minded fool, you know nothing of the work we have done here. You look on the surface and see a world that’s… out of sorts, it is to be expected! You bring darkness to a world always in light and it corrupts, you bring light to a world always in darkness it corrupts! You bring a world that has been either or the other to neutral and IT corrupts! the Masked Man used such a tone as if it was obvious how stupid Cid truly was. “ Fool, you are the very people who stand in the way to end this war, the blind, they naïve, the ignorant!” a glare from the eyes behind the mask was thrown at Cid when he drew the spear. “Perhaps instead of you thinking I have corrupted your friend you should start believing your own views are corrupted. Now…” a swish of the cloak and the talon blade came from its folds within the Masked Man’s attire. He pointed the dual bladed weapon at Cid as if it was extended fingers. “It seems this would be the last time I ask you to leave unharmed. I’d advise you, once more, it is best if you do.”
The Masked Man’s intentions were not to attack Cid, no but rather capture the man’s attention long enough to allow Cloud to respond the way the man knew he would. Of course, Cloud would know it needed to come to violence, the tone of the Masked Man’s voice spoke that in volumes, but did the cloaked figure expect Cloud to kill either of their enemies? No and neither did the Masked Man think he could kill them himself for the possibility of losing Cloud’s trust so fast. So… it was simply a matter of how easily they would fall and think it was all a dream…
Keeping his eyes focused specifically on Cid to enrapt his attention to the man with the mask for as long as possible the Masked Man thought Now Cloud, do it now! silently begging for the “ex-SOLDIER” to hear him.

The young keyblader to continued to glare at the masked man and Cloud. For now to just listening to their words for not but he didn't agree with any of it. As Cloud spoke that this was normal and that these people would return to how they were suppose to be. Then there was the weak-minded comment from the masked man that irked the young boy."You can't be serious! If this alteration of color isn't big enough of a hint, and if not that the people, this is not natural. I've seen worlds that weren't affiliated with Light or Dark before and nothing like this happened," Night couldn't help but protest. Really how was this ending the battle. If anything this was just adding to the problem because rather than just fighting the darkness to keep it at bay this new force was raising up that would need to be taken down so things were right again. Nothing about this was FINE, and he highly doubted things were gonna change.
That was when he noticed Cloud taking a glance toward him, with his hand on his blade as it rested on his shoulder. The young teen taking a step back in slight fear of it, remembering the pain from before that Cloud had caused him. He gulped in slight fear but he stood his ground, once again just glaring at him for now as Cid spoke up being the usual free speaking individual he usually was. Well that answered his question for sure they knew each other quite well. By the sounds of things they were even friends maybe their friendship would at least keep the two from fighting? Though with Cloud's blade resting on his shoulder and Cid summoning out his spear, this was not going to end peacefully at all. Though despite both these men being the problem it seemed that most of Cid's anger was focused on this masked man looking a bit confused. He thought this guy was manipulating Cloud? It sounded odd to him but Cid knew the blond warrior so if he thought some type of vudo was being done he wasn't going to say anything against it. Even though the most likely route seemed to be that Cloud chose to do this all on his own. However it wasn't really his place to comment since he didn't know him before this other than their encounter in Deep Jungle.
That was when it was the Masked Man's turn to snap back did Night seem somewhat surprised. He had just been laughing at his comments so far, and just seemed to be on the sidelines like he had been doing while allowing the other to speak up and lead. Though when he drew his weapon it was finally Night's turn to act. A small glow on his wrist as his body was engulfed in light and his light armor now on with his keyblade draw. The look in his eyes and the posture he carried no longer carried his timidness from before, and now he seemed more confident and determined to take these two down if needed. The armored keybearer drawing out his keyblade watching the both of them seeming to be waiting for the first swing of the blade to occur before resorting to violence. "We gave you our answer already, and we're not leaving these people with the way you have them," he answered the question glaring at the two of them. Watching..... waiting......

As Cid processed everything that happened, all Cloud could do was wait with a heavy heart and his breath caught in his throat. Was Cid going to back down, and do what he asked? Or was he going to make this harder on Cloud than it needed to be? ...Of course not, of course id had to decide to play hero. He narrowed his eyes as he locked eyes with Cid, the pilot tutting at him before giving the ‘EX-SOLDIER’ a lecture about how he wasn’t any better than the other enemies of Gaia they’d faced. He could see the pain surface in Cloud’s eyes at the mention of Tifa and Aerith, and he broke his gaze with Cid to stare at the ground while Ultima Weapon fell from his shoulder to his side. He hadn’t wanted them to know, or get involved, but now... Now it was too late for that. Worse, the only way to stop him was to finish him off here or at least capture him until it was all over. He sighed, tightening his grasp around Ultima Weapon. ...Cid, why couldn’t you just listen to reason? Whatever happens here... You brought upon yourself...
Cid then turned his attention to the Masked Man, continuing to run his mouth. Do you ever stop talking? Cloud thought, then scoffed at the idle threat Cid made. He knew that he and the Masked Man were more than a match for Cid and Night, the trick was winning without killing them... Somehow.
The Masked Man began to retaliate to Cid’s rant, the harshness in his tone almost seeming like he was... Defending Cloud’s decision? He doubted the Masked Man truly cared about him but... Maybe the façade would be enough to convince Cid of otherwise, he didn’t know. Regardless, as what was explained to Cloud was explained to the pilot... It gave the One Winged Demon an opportunity. Surely Cid would be drawn into trying to attack or continue his argument, and with Cloud behind him he was out of sight which gave him the advantage of surprise should he decide to attack him. As the clincher, Masked Man drew his own weapon on Cid. It was now or never, Cloud knew the window of opportunity was short and he had to act fast before it slipped from him and this became a much more difficult fight than it needed to be. Though taking note of Night’s transformation, Cloud kept his focus on Cid.
The kid’s still relying too much on his spirits, that needs to change. But for now, we end this Cid. I’m sorry, but you’ve brought this on yourself. Cloud thought as he carried out the motions of his attack. He rose Ultima Weapon over his head, blue energy rippling across the blade before Cloud slammed it into the ground to unleash his powerful Blade Beam, the powerful wave of energy tearing across the ground towards the pilot within seconds. Whether it hit him or something in front of the pilot, it would erupt in a powerful explosion that shook the ground and filled the air with its mako reminiscent glow. Without hesitation Cloud stood tall to twirl his blade over his head, robbing Cid of as much time as he could to counter. As the red aura overtook him, Cloud drove his sword downward to summon from the heavens the dozen small celestial bodies of Meteor Rain to home in on his former ally. Twisting Ultima Weapon in his hands, Cloud held it firmly before him as he continued to trace Cid’s movements, glaring at the pilot while he stood his ground.
“Cid’s mine, take care of the kid,” Cloud ordered, shutting off his emotions to fight like the SOLDIER he once claimed to be. There wasn’t room for any mistakes.
