The Corridor of Darkness opened before the grand doors of the castle called Hollow Bastion. Like many places he had been, this place was slightly familiar even though he had not visited it. The feeling of familiarity of new places was a feeling that Nobody was beginning to get used. Between Sora and that strange connection to Aqua it seemed that a lot of places took on many blurred meanings within the Nobody’s head. This place was no exception.
Light, Dark, Light, Dark…this place had been in both places at one point or another. As the Nobody examined the place, he took note how the place was beginning to show the wear and tear of the many battles that had passed through here. It must’ve been a place just as important as Castle Oblivion and Disney Castle. He wondered how this place played into the story and what it had to do with him. In time, he’d figured it out he supposed. Just not right now. Right now, he had a job to do.
The place still belonged to Darkness, a problem that would soon be fixed; however, he had not come here to claim this place for the Light as he had done, Radiant Garden. No this time, he was trying a different path...one that didn’t really require him to fight for Light, but wouldn’t force him to fight against them either.
A neutral path, he had never considered until he had been within that graveyard of keys. Before then, he had fought for Light without question much like he had fought for the Organization before he went on his quest for answers. While he had found his answers, he had never thought he’d be separate once more from his Somebody and yet here it was years later and he was once again among the living. Once more with questions that could not be answered and living in not only Sora’s shadow, but now another’s called Ven. It was agitating being recognized as another person instead of simply yourself. The more he existed seperate from his Somebody, the more he felt he had to somehow make himself...well himself. Maybe it was because of this want to just be himself that he was here now not fighting for the Light or maybe it was because he was seeking something more with this new path. He couldn’t say why he was doing this at the moment, but maybe by the end of it all, he’d have an answer to the question and a direction to go in.
Focusing once more, he pushed the doors to the castle to open. While they moved easily enough, they eventually stopped, leaving a small space to get through. It was a tight squeeze, but Roxas managed to get into the castle nearly tripping over the huge piece of debris that was causing the door to stop. After he had caught his balance again and walked further in, he looked around the place. To say it was a mess was an understatement. Whatever had come through here had pretty much tried taking the whole place down, leaving large chunks of debris and broken pillars everywhere. Moving carefully through the mess Roxas went up the stairs and found the mess continued on. There must’ve been a battle here between Dark and maybe Light…it was hard to tell. He could sense traces of Dark warriors here, but Light was so faint that he wondered if the warriors had been here at all to defend. Well, whatever had happened Dark sure had made a mess out of things. Getting this place in a state where people could actually fix it would be a good idea. Yeah...he needed to clear out this Darkness soon. The Nobody continued to move up the stairs.
At the top of the stairs he found a door and opened it, entering the upper floor of the library. Unlike the place he had just exited, this place was undamaged. As the Nobody moved through the library and headed down the stair to the more open area below, he began to wonder if any of those books would hold answers to his questions. He had considered checking the books out, but stopped as he sensed a presence enter the castle.
As he paused in the open area of the library’s lower floor and tilted his head slightly, he let his senses stretch out to find out what was in the castle. Dark…of course a warrior from their side would come to defend what the Dark classified as its own. The question now was would that Dark warrior find him or would he have to find the warrior himself...?

It was unfortunate what had happened to this world. The foul claws of the Darkness had caused deep wounds to this world, making sure that it remained drenched in swarms of Heartless and other monstrous creatures. A team of determined heroes just could not fend off the power that the users of the Dark held and as a result, the world just suffered more from the battle that raged within the walls of this massive castle. As was evident by the state of the main entrance room which housed the water fountain. The walls and floors were scarred with the grooves made from swords and other weapons. Burnt stone and piles of ash dotted the room from magical spells and the results of what happened if being hit by a magical spell. Dried blood joined the mess that was strewn everywhere. There was an awful smell as well that just stung your nostrils and gave your stomach an uneasy feeling whenever air was inhaled. This certainly wasn't a pleasant thing to experience and it saddened one figure who had experienced everything that had happened here recently.
Genesis Rhapsodos, the Crimson Champion had decided to lend his Rapier to the forces of Light to aid them in fighting back the threat that loomed over this world. The Warriors of Chaos had descended upon this world and it was as clear as the smell was strong that they had been here. While each of them seemed to pose a terrible threat to the rest of the worlds and every single innocent who lived among them, there was only one man whom the Crimson SOLDIER had come here for. Mordred. Whoever he was, Genesis knew he was a murdered and could also have held important information as to what had become of his dear old friend, Sephiroth. Mordred, a man cloaked in black garbs, wore glasses and seemed to poses a mysterious magical power, was present at the ShinRa Mansion in Nibleheim, along with Sephiroth, Angeal, Zack and himself. Little did Genesis know that both Mordred and Sephiroth were members of this 'Warriors of Chaos' and as a result, both men were allies fighting for a possible common goal. All that the LOVELESS fanatic knew was that seeing as Mordred managed to meet Sephiroth and leave with his life, that they must have struck a deal or reached a mutual agreement. Whatever it was, Genesis needed to discover it.
So here he was, returning to the scene of the battle that brought Darkness back to Hollow Bastion. It was a futile visit though, for that Mordred was indeed a Nobody and trying to sense his near non-existent presence was like trying to find a needle in a haystack, and with a haystack as gigantic as the castle he now stood in... it felt like an impossible task. Regardless, he pressed onwards as his feet marched him forth and caused echoes to shoot off down the corridor before and behind him. Genesis cared not for being stealthy. For all he knew the only other creatures inhabiting that world were the Heartless here to attempt to claim his Heart. The girl in the white dress and the elder woman who brandished a spear had both vanished after they lost the battle that just passed. The same thing happened to the giant man wearing a full suit of armour as well as the maniacal Clown who seemed to possibly know something about Sephiroth, for he created a clone of The Chosen One in the battle. Genesis however remained behind in hopes of finding that monster, Mordred but it was starting to feel like a futile task.
"There must be a way for you to sense the aura of a Nobody..." Pondered the Crimson SOLDIER as he continued to make his way down a corridor, peering into rooms on both his left and right as he passed open doorways. While Genesis was no master at the art, he was able to detect the position of a person by feeling for the aura their Heart gave off. Ones drenched in Darkness or basked in Light were easy to feel. Neutral ones were harder but no impossible and with thanks to Nobodies having no Hearts, trying to detect that was incredibly more difficult. That was when a light bulb turned on within the SOLDIER's mind as he remembered of a library somewhere within this castle. Perhaps there was information there regarding Nobodies? But did he really have time to go read some books? What if Sephiroth was planning to attack another world? Ideally, Genesis needed to bump into a Keybarer other then Riku. There was still the task of obtaining information about the X-Blade and to possibly recruit any Keybarers to aid him in a fight against The Chosen One.
Pressing further onwards, the auburn-haired SOLDIER 1st Class decided to check out the library. He had a little time to spare and it wouldn't hurt to look around once more. Sure enough, he had found his way back to the main entrance of Hollow Bastion's castle and he once more observed the damage and destruction that was caused. If this world returned to the Light, would all this damage just vanish and the world would repair itself? The entire castle felt deserted though. If the aforementioned didn't happen, then who would come here to fix this place up? Pushing such thoughts aside, the SOLDIER turned to his left and made his way across the room to a door on the far side, one that lead into the lower floor of the library. The creaking of his leather coat subtly echoed about the room as he reached an arm forth, grasping leather bound fingers around the doorknob before twisting and pushing the wooden object forth. The creaking of stiff hinges echoed about the library as the door was opened, though Genesis cared not for he thought he was alone here. Stepping through and closing the door behind him with an identical creak, the Crimson SOLDIER turned around and paused in his tracks as solid as a statue.
"....." ~Someone is in here...~ He thought to himself as a slight shiver shot down his spine. It was hard to explain, but he certainly did not feel alone anymore.

Roxas remained still with his eyes closed following the aura of Darkness with his senses as it moved first away from the library and then came back around before getting stronger in the area. The presence was close…really close.Like it was about to come into the library. Empty blue eyes opened as the door creaked open and the sounds of footsteps entered the room. Whoever was here was not being quiet. Foolish or over-confident…or perhaps simply unaware of his presence…it could be any of the above, but the Nobody did not try to figure out which it was as he continued to listen. The door closed and then—
Hm? Roxas listened to the silence. The being of Dark was definitely in the room, but had stopped moving. Had the person or thing noticed him? Or had something else caught the being’s attention? Roxas stayed where he was for a moment longer listening to the silence. Then without warning, he began to move into the maze of bookshelves to search for the being that had come here with an air of caution. He did not make his approach silent. He didn’t mind if his opponent knew he was here or not. Whether the being attacked or not would be left up to time to tell. He’d be prepared. For now the Nobody simply wanted to know what he was dealing with. He kept moving until he came to the final corner of the maze that would lead him to the door that exited back out into the lower portion of the room he had just come from. Staying cautious, he came around the corner slightly before coming to a stop observing what had come.
It was a man with brown hair and a crimson colored jacket. He reeked of Darkness, but did not seemed to be armed. Still that did not mean he did not have a weapon. Like himself, this one could probably make his weapon appear and vanish at will. It was a skill that was becoming common place with all the warriors the war was calling. Still the man did not seem like he had come here looking for a fight, but then again Darkness was very good at acting deceiving. Yet, the Nobody did not attack as he continued to watch the Warrior of Darkness.
He didn’t trust him, so it wouldn’t take much to cause the Nobody fight back if this warrior was not careful. In any case, there was another moment of observation before the Nobody spoke. His words cold and calm towards his potential enemy.
“Why are you here?” Roxas asked, trying to get a better reading of the motive of this warrior. While his natural dislike for Dark told him to attack, another part of him told him to wait and do nothing unless the Dark being did something for him to react to. Pushing down instinct and going with logic, the Nobody remained calm watching his opponent with a cold expression. The ball was in his court now.

The library was mostly kept in silence apart from the odd moment of howling that came from the massive stained glass window at the far end of the large room. As the wind blew past outside the massive castle, the gusts found the cracks and gaps between the walls and window fittings and allowed the eerie whistling to echo throughout the library as well as the rest of the castle no doubt. There were no heavy footsteps or the tiny teetering of Heartless, no weapons impacts, steels upon steel, no gunshots, no magic spells being cast. The entire castle felt completely abandoned apart from this one room now occupied by two presences. Even after the creaking of the wooden door had all but died down, not even the ever so subtle shifting of Genesis' coat made a sound. It was deathly silent until the howling of the wind broke through the nothingness. But there came something else. As the Crimson SOLDIER had felt the instant he stepped into this room, his suspicions were proven correct when footsteps that belonged not to him make themselves known.
Someone was walking through the bookshelves, more then likely alerted by Genesis' entrance to the library and were intend on discovering who or what had joined them. It would have been a lot easier for the Nobody for unlike Genesis, he could feel the SOLDIER's presence. Still, the footsteps of what sounded like trainers continued to make their way close to him through the maze of bookshelves. Genesis slowly raised his arms up and managed to slide his hands into his coat pockets without making a single sound. Bright blue eyes shining with Mako glancing around the room though he didn't moved his head up nor down neither to left nor right. The sound of footsteps was ahead of him and it was from between one of the rows of books would the owner make themselves known. Sure enough, they did indeed and it was a boy... short dark blonde messy hair, wore an unusual set of garments, mostly gray and white in colour, had amazingly deep blue eyes and had a face that seemed to highly resemble that of the brunette Keyblade wielder.
Though this young man was not Sora, for Genesis would have picked up his presence long before stepping foot inside the library. So just who exactly was this person? Even when the Nobody had come into view, Genesis moved no0t from his position. He stood tall and strong, keeping his hands within his coat pockets and locking his glare onto the eyes of the boy who poked his head out from around the corner of a bookshelf. The missing presence he failed to carry told the Crimson SOLDIER that he were more then likely a Nobody, which would explain the failure to 'sense' him. His clothes didn't scream 'enemy' however and his actions and body language were to be expected from a young man who was cautious over someone like Genesis Rhapsodos. Even the boy's voiced didn't seem to indicate that he was out for blood. ".........." Genesis said nothing in reply to the young Nobody and simply continued to watch him through narrowed eyes, sending out a glare that was clearly meant as a warning. Mordred was a Nobody... this boy might very well be an associate here to retrieve information from the battle just past, as far as Genesis knew.
Silence returned to the room and other then the howling of the winds outside and the subtle heartbeat within his ears, it appeared this young Nobody was no going to speak any more words until the SOLDIER 1st Class had revealed his intentions for being here. Very well. "... Know you of someone called, 'Mordred'?" Asked the tall male, awaiting but a moment or two to see if the Nobody either shook, nodded or gave a verbal reply before he continued. "I am simply looking for them. I know the murderer engaged in battle here but moments before now, though it seems the coward has fled." Spoke the LOVELESS fanatic, keeping his gaze locked onto that of Roxas, not looking away, not faltering, hardly even blinking. He just stared at the young boy as if he were standing between him and his goal and a powerful determination to get past the Nobody was shining throughout his eyes. "And what of you? Why are you here, Nobody?"

The castle's library remained quiet after the Nobody had found his potential enemy. As the wind whistled through the cracks and holes it found within the old castle, the Nobody continued to watch the young man before him. He took note that he had his hands in his pockets, but as long as the man did not attack, the Nobody did not mind the action. When Roxas asked his question, the man did not answer him right away. Like when he first revealed himself, the man observed the young Nobody, this time as if he was trying to determine something himself. In any case, the man decide to cooperate by first asking a question.
Roxas frowned slightly at the name he heard. Mordred? He racked his brain trying to see if that name matched up with anyone that he may have met in battle or briefly outside of it. He remained silent thinking for a bit and then returning his blue eye to the man in red he shook his to the question. Following his answer, the man spoke again stating his business here. As he listened he nodded inwardly taking note of the way the man described Mordred and pretty much explained what had happened here with a few words. While Roxas was not sure if the man before him had caused the damage, the fact that the man had returned to the scene of battle made the Nobody at least believe he had participated in some way within the battle that had occurred. In any case, his motivation didn’t seem to be to take this place back for the Dark. So that was a plus. Still, the Nobody did not trust the guy…non-hostile and cooperative or not.
When the man had finished speaking there was a brief moment of silence as the man watched him cat-like from his position by the door. While Roxas remained in a blank slate, he could see the man was pretty determine to carry out his hunt and if necessary he’d force Roxas out of the way if he interfered. Luckily, for the man Roxas had no interest in the hunt or what the man wanted with this library. He wouldn’t stand in his way.
When the man asked his own question, Roxas was silent for a moment as he considered answering that or not. He supposed he could be a little cooperative. So he went with a simple answer that held a lot of weight.
“Clean up duty,” he said and then remained still for a moment longer before shrugging and then turning as if he was going back into the maze of bookshelves.
“If all you are doing is hunting for this Mordred. Then I can tell you now he is not here,” the Nobody said calmly and then headed back into the maze of books showing he was not going to stop the guy from doing his search if he didn’t believe him. Despite seeming like he didn’t care about the guy’s goals, Roxas remained alert of the guy’s presence “watching” the guy with his senses. As long as the guy did not attack or do anything that suggested he was threatening, he would not have to worry about Roxas too much. While Roxas did not care for the Dark, he wasn’t one to attack someone without reason...

This boy was hiding something. What it was and his reasons for doing so were unknown and to be frank, none of Genesis' business, but the boy with messy hair could have made a better job at telling his little lie then simply saying he was on 'clean up duty'. He hardly looked like he owned this castle nor did he appear to be the janitor or cleaner. He had no broom for starters and his clothes were much too clean to suggest he were going around this place dusting everything. No, something was funny about this kid. The fact that the Heartless roaming about this world were on considerably greater strength then those found in many other worlds told the Crimson SOLDIER that whoever this boy was, he must have had a weapon and knew how to use it. For a boy of his age to be wandering around a place like this, it definitely had much more to do then a simply 'clean up' job. Then again, was he here to clean up the Darkness, perhaps? That would include the Crimson Champion, for while he worked as more a neutral warrior, his powers did belong mostly to that of the Dark.
As the young man turned about and spoke aloud once more, before he disappeared back into the maze of books, the Crimson SOLDIER narrowed his eyes as he almost instantly lost track of this boy's location. A pox upon the inability to sense those damn Nobodies! However, if the Keyblade Nobody truly was focusing his attention on 'watching' the Crimson SOLDIER, the boy would have noticed that Genesis' location had moved. In an instant he had traversed the length of the library and was standing beside the table sitting underneath the massive stain glass window. Genesis simply turned on the spot a fraction as his bright blue eyes narrowed back into a glare when he noticed the young boy emerge out one of the rows of bookshelves. With his back to the window, Genesis' face was shrouded in shadow and the eerie glow of his mako infused eyes glowed brightly as if they had been set aflame. "So you are in league with this Mordred if you know they are no longer here? Perhaps you, like I, cannot feel the location of a 'Nobody' and thus you are as unaware as I to whether he remains in this castle or not."
The leather coat covering the SOLDIER's arms creaked as he removed his hands out his coat pockets. Instead of summoning his weapon or making a gesture to cast a spell, the fan of LOVELESS merely folded his arms before his chest and kept his hawk-like stare locked onto Roxas. There was definitely something about this boy that rubbed Genesis the wrong way. It was a horrible tingling feeling running across the hairs of his forearms. But both SOLDIER and Nobody seemed to share the same common sense and each refused to mindlessly attack the other without a good enough reason to back their actions. "And what of this 'Clean up duty'? I doubt you strong enough to take out the Heartless that roam this place. Then again... I may be wrong. You do look awfully like 'him', so maybe you're a cut above the rest?" The man dressed in Crimson spoke, his voice carrying his usual poetic charm. Usually, when a battle had been fought, the vultures and crows would swoop in and peck at flesh of the fallen and scavenge about for any bits and pieces that could prove useful. Perhaps this boy was just like those birds? Was he here to find treasure? Weapons? Personal belongings? Though, there was something else. At times, when a large scale battle had ended, another nation would march in and claim the devastated area as their own. Maybe this boy was here to alter the core of this world? Turn it away from the Darkness that had been brought to it only hours before now? A light bulb flashed within Genesis' mind as this could possibly be what 'Clean up duty' meant.
Interesting...

Roxas’s words had not been a lie. It was a simple statement that could be interrupted many ways by the one who heard them. As he walked along the maze, he could sense a shift in the air, a sign that he may have triggered an emotional response from the man in red. Had he hit a nerve with his vagueness or did this man have another idea in mind? In any case, the Nobody didn’t give the shift in atmosphere that much attention. The guy didn’t chase him into the maze or blow up in any fashion, so he was not worried about an attack despite the tension that was building in the area.
As he continued to “watch”, the Crimson SOLIDER with his senses, he took note that the guy had moved from his spot by the door to a position up ahead. It was a quick transport, making the Nobody wonder if the man had teleportation powers since there was no sound of a Corridor opening and shutting nor were there any blurs or sounds of movement that would suggest he had physically run to the place he was now. Just a simple here one minute and now there in the next. He’d have to watch out for that ability then.
Any way, as the young Nobody came back out into the open area, he was not surprised to find the man standing by the table under the stairs. Since the man’s face was in shadows and his glowing eyes were narrowed into a glare, he would seem intimidating to anyone looking at him; however, Roxas was not phased by the look. The young Nobody stopped by the book shelf and casually leaned back against it with his arms folded as he returned the glare with an empty stare of his own.
He listened to the man’s words his eyes becoming even icier than before. When the man was done talking, the Nobody spoke.
“I know nothing of this Mordred, but I can tell you now that this place is empty. As for sensing Nobodies, I’m surprised that you can’t catch onto the auras that do not cling to Hearts. Those seeped in Darkness reek no matter what they are and Light shines quite brightly,” the Nobody said giving him a cold smile that he didn’t exactly care if it set the guy off or not. It was odd to the Nobody that a Warrior of Darkness could not sense auras strongly. Usually people knew exactly what they were dealing with Nobody or not. He guessed there were some that still did not have the sense ability down. Interesting…and a bit foolish to reveal. He could easily take advantage of this, if a battle were to occur; however, as he watched the man remove his hands from his pockets and crossed his arms, Roxas could tell the man was reasonable enough. A rare trait for those of Darkness. He must’ve been here for something else outside of just searching for Mordred. Why else would he still be bothering the Nobody?
In any case, his suspicions were confirmed when the man asked him another question, this time about clean up duty and spoke of a ‘him’. Now, there was a moment of silence as the icy glare became blank once more making the Nobody unreadable again. He could tell the man was perceptive and probably had already figured out what “clean up duty” meant or rather had a good guess of it. There would be no problem of confirming or debunking whatever idea he had on the matter; however, the one thing that bother him was the reference to “him”. Was he referring to Sora…or the look alike Ven? It was hard to say. After observing the man for a moment longer, the Nobody finally spoke.
“”Him’, who?” the Nobody asked calmly, wanting to know the answer despite not liking where it was leading. He gave the man some time to answer before continuing on.
“Clean up duty is exactly what says. I came here to rid this place of Darkness. If you’re here to defend it, then let’s cut the chit-chat and get this mess over with,” the Nobody said in slightly agitated tones as he gave the guy a slight frown. His patience with the Darkness was wearing thin…and yet, he did not move to attack the man. He’d see what the man’s true colors were by the way he reacted to the words. He wouldn’t take action unless necessary.

((OOC:: Sorry this is so poop. Having a really bad time IRL at the moment.)) This boy was good. Though he didn't look it at first glance, there appeared to be very little that seemed to bother or worry this messy-haired lad. Even when in the presence of a SOLDIER such as Genesis did the young boy not flinch or hastily reach for his weapon. It was curious really. Perhaps he was not like the others out there, defiantly taking to their weapons to fight back the Darkness and the users of said Darkness without batting an eyelid. So why was this guy taking a more steady approach? The Crimson SOLDIER knew he had the powers of the Darkness within him and it was evident that this Nobody would 'feel' the aura of another just like Genesis himself could. Was it then that he were able to feel the Light within him too? That may well explain his reasoning for not jumping in and attacking. Who knew? At the end of the day, no battle was taking place and to be frank, this world had already seen one too many fights within it's castles corridors in too short a time already. The problem was that this young man was also highly determined to carry out his 'Clean up duty'.
There was also the matter of this boy looking awfully similar to that of Sora... so could that mean this boy was also a Keybarer or was their similarity purely that of coincidence? While Roxas spoke of the ability to 'track' the movement of a Nobody without relying on the aura of a Heart, instead focusing on the Dark or Light that signified their desire and position within these worlds, the auburn-haired man pretended not to pay it any attention. Instead, he just allowed the smallest of smirks to appear on his lips as the boy once again mentioned that Mordred was certainly not lingering elsewhere on this castle nor anywhere else on this world. Pity... It would have been nice to finally catch that murderer and see him brought to justice for what he had done. Never mind, there would always be a second chance to catch him. For now, there was this boy and his intentions to remove the Darkness from this world. Admirable and a task that Genesis would normally have been all too kind to let Roxas go on his way and do what he sought. Truth be told that the fan of LOVELESS had come here in the first place to aid the fight for the Light.
"I afraid I must apologies to you, Nobody." Genesis spoke up as he slowly lowered his arms from before his chest and allowed them both to rest down at his sides. He closed his eyes for a moment as he brought up his left hand to his forehead, where he lightly pressed his gloved fingers against his brow. After a moment's pause, the SOLDIER 1st Class spoke up once more. "While I wish nothing more then to see this war brought to an end and the balance restored throughout the worlds... I'm going to have to stand in your way." The Crimson SOLDIER lowered his arm down from his forehead and reopened his eyes, watching the young man before him carefully before starting to take slow steps towards him. No weapons were drawn nor revealed for there was something the auburn-haired man needed to confirm beforehand. If this boy, like Sora, was indeed a Barer of the Key, then he was going to draw his Rapier and attack. Not out of hatred for the Keybarers, mind you. No, it would simply be as a test. If not a Keybarer, then their paths would end here and the SOLDIER would go about his way, leaving this young man to finish off his 'Clean up duty'.

((This is fine and I’m sorry to hear that. I hope things get better for you.))
There was silence as the man in red seemed to be considering something carefully. Whether it was about himself or planning something else, the young Nobody couldn’t tell. There was a play of emotions in the man’s eyes; however, the emotions were well guarded making the Nobody wonder what the guy was thinking. In any case, Roxas took note that the man had not blown up at his words or charged into an attack. He controlled himself well, a trait of a discipline warrior. It was something that Roxas could relate to and respect. Sure, he could get consumed by anger or other emotions that could sometimes guide his actions to be illogical or rash, but for the most part Roxas was calm within battle. When encountering those with Hearts and sometimes no Hearts, the Nobody gave them back what they had given him. Kindness was met with kindness, respect with respect, injustice with rebellion…the list went on.
However, this guy before him was another matter completely. Warriors of Darkness were a unpredictable bunch that either wanted to take over the world, destroy it, or sink it into Darkness. Most of the time they attacked on sight or at the slightest offense, but this one? No, he had remained calm and collected the whole time. His agenda feeling different from the norm. Yes, he was definitely unusual, but his Dark nature kept the Nobody from trusting him. Roxas could tell he was up to something, but what he did not know…and that is what bothered the Nobody the most. The guy had stated he was here looking for Mordred, but had decided to bother him instead. The more the man in red lingered around, the more the Nobody began to feel like he would spring at him at any moment.
When the guy began to speak a moment later, Roxas pushed himself away from the bookshelf as his eyes narrowed at the man’s words. He was not surprised that the man knew he was a Nobody. Roxas had figured the man was perceptive and had figured out what he was back when he had spoken of not being able to trace Nobodies. It was the apology that put the Nobody on edge.
He watched the man’s movement carefully. They were slow, yet deliberate. As he spoke again, Roxas tilted his head as the man spoke of a balance and an end to the war. While the Nobody had no clue what he meant by balance, he could agree the war had to come an end. For someone with quite a bit in common with the Nobody, it was a shame that he was going to stand his way. Perhaps if things had been different, the pair might’ve become allies instead, but things were not that way.
As the man began to come towards him, Roxas sighed inwardly at the battle that was to come. He had hoped neutralizing the world would be a simple task, but that seemed too much to ask of the forces that ran the universe. Light or not there would always be those that resisted.
“Wrong choice,” was all the Nobody said as he summoned only one of his keyblades for now. In a flash of light, Oblivion appeared in his right hand. As he held the weapon with a loose grip, he lowered himself into a defensive stance that mimicked Sora’s completely. While Roxas could be an aggressive fighter, he knew when to wait his turn. So, like with Roy, he waited to see what the warrior would do and then adapt from there.

As Genesis begun to make his walk towards the messy-haired Nobody, the wind decided to chirp up again by howling through the cracks of the window frame each time the Crimson SOLDIER caused a subtle echo to bounce about the library with each footstep he took. His amazingly bright eyes were staring carefully at the young boy before him, thoughts running through his mind of by simply walking towards him, it would be enough to cause him to draw whatever weapon he might wield, and, hopefully have that action answer some questions within the SOLDIER's mind. What luck!! As Genesis did approach the young boy, his possible theory of this lad being a Keybarer due to sharing similarities with Sora were proven correct and the moment the mysterious weapon was revealed in it's flash of light, did Genesis' advance halt in an instant. Though there was no expression on his face. There was no worry in his eyes, no concern upon his lips, nothing that revealed how he was feeling at the time. In truth, he was pleased. Glad that he had been right about his thoughts and could now hopefully move onto the next part of his plan. But how to go about it...?
"You wield a Keyblade, I see. Rumours of your kinds strength travel far. You're the fifth I have met and as those before you, I can already start to feel the power you possess." Genesis said with a cool tone as an identical cool breeze blew past the pair of them from the cracks in the castle walls. Genesis' coat fluttered softly to one side in the wind, also shifting due to him lifting up his right arm out to his side. As the creaking of the tightening leather faded away, a sudden burst of flame erupted from the SOLDIER's palm as his fingers gripped about the handle of his summoned Rapier. The long crimson weapon was brought up to Genesis' forehead, eyes closing as he did so as if he momentarily fell into deep thought... an action the Crimson SOLDIER did in honour of his dear friend, Angeal. Soon enough, the elegant weapon was brought back down to his side and the SOLDIER nodded his head towards the Keybarer before him. "Believe these words if you wish, but I have no intention of hurting you. I am need of able minded Keybarers who seek to end the war between Light and Darkness... a powerful enemy sits over the horizon and it is one I alone do not have the strength to defeat. Thus, I need to see what you are made of. If you defeat me in fair combat, I shall willingly leave you to cleanse this world but in return, I request an alliance."
The Crimson SOLDIER lifted his arm and held the long, slender weapon out at arms length, pointing the tip of the weapon in Roxas' direction as a honest smile appeared on his lips, eyes flashing truthfully to the words he had just spoke. "If you fail however... I will spare you, but this world remains covered in Darkness." With that said, the auburn-haired SOLDIER begun his walk once more, lowering this Rapier back down to his side and taking on an opposing stance as he easily towered over the young boy before him. Not attacking first however, for if the young Keybarer wished to say something back in return, then Genesis would allow him the chance to do so. As such, the SOLDIER 1st Class came to a stop about 6 feet before him, getting a much better chance to look this lad up and down and to also check out that particular weapon he held within his hand. This was going to be a tough battle, not only for him but for the Keybarer as well. Sora had defeated Sephiroth, sure... but how would this Keybarer fare against the Crimson Champion? Selena and Night both lost their battles to him... would Roxas be added to that list?

The Man in Red was a tough one to figure out. While he reeked with Darkness, his actions were not aligned with the typical behavior of the Warriors of Darkness. He was not malicious in any way, making Roxas question the forces of Light and Dark. If Light equaled heroes and Dark equal villain, then why was this one playing it acting like a good guy would? Granted each person and thing had their own personalities, but this was unheard of. To make things even more confusing for the keyblader was the fact that he could not read the man headed towards him. What was he up to?
When he had summoned Oblivion and mimicked Sora's stance, the man had stopped where he was, but the usual fear of or interest in the weapon was missing. The guy was emotionless and the earlier signals the Nobody could pick up on regarding his mood was lost. It made Roxas unsure what the guy was planning or what to do, so he stayed where he was as the man spoke.
He knew keyblade thanks to meeting five other keybearers? Five? Just how many were there outside of the few he knew and himself? Whatever the answer was to that question, the Nobody did not try to figure it out for that was not important at the moment. What was important was that the man knew of the weapon and the power that came along with it. The question now was what was he going to use this information for?
The guy remained cool and collected as lifted his right arm out to his side and summoned flames that became a rather elegant crimson blade. Roxas watched as the man went through a set of strange motions that he did not quite understand. Was it just the guy’s way of preparing for battle or was it a payment of respect to someone that the man went through the small ceremony of raising his crimson weapon to his forehead and falling into silence for a while?
Roxas couldn’t figure it out and the man didn’t give him enough time to figure out the answer either. Before he knew the man was lowering his weapon and nodding at him as he spoke again.
"Huh?" was all Roxas could say as a look of confusion crossed his face for a moment.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait a minute. What was this? He wasn’t trying to hurt him and needed Keybearers to help him stop the war thanks to some powerful enemy that was lurking in the shadows? On top of this, he was making a deal with him. If he won the battle, the guy left and let the world be neutralized….only if he agreed to help him with his plan. If he failed, then he’d live, but the world remained in Darkness….and yet…
Roxas confusion vanished as the guy pointed his blade at him. The smile and look in the man's eyes telling the Nobody that the Man in Red wasn’t lying or trying to trick him, so what to do now?
As Roxas watched the man move closer and take on a fighting stance, but not attack, the young Nobody watched the man with a blank stare. The deal was intriguing, but there was one thing that bothered him.
“And if I were to say no to an alliance after I’ve won?” he asked calmly as he moved away from the shelf and out into the open space keeping his distance as he watched the man tiger-like before settling back into a defensive stance unafraid of his larger opponent. Depending on how the man answer would determine how the Nobody would take to his challenge..as a threat or a test. For now only the wind filled the silence between them.

((OOC:: Sorry this stinks. I am very much enjoying our thread. I think I'd do a better job writing my replies when I was not half asleep ^^ ) "I am not expecting you trust me, nor am I expecting you to agree to my proposal, but the threat is real and you alone will not be enough to stop it. Do not mistake my words, I am not saying you are weak or inexperienced, just that the enemy in the shadows is considerably stronger then you could possibly imagine. Perhaps if you manage to find some of that trust I am asking of you, I can inform you in greater detail of what I am asking of you. But until then, I need to see just how good you are." The Crimson SOLDIER explained, obviously avoiding going into any greater detail over what was just spoken. No, he needed to be sure that this Keybarer was going to agree to this alliance and devote part of his strength and effort into aiding the SOLDIER 1st Class in his task. It was not going to be an easy journey and Genesis was sure he'd have to toughen up each and every Keybarer who agreed to join his side in the fight to the war. One of the reasons he sought to 'test' Roxas in this battle. If it took Genesis mere seconds to defeat this boy, then it was going to be a long and arduous task to strengthen him up for what was going to come.
A smirk spread across Genesis' lips as the words of the young Keybarer repeated itself in his mind. It was difficult to determine, but this situation was not one to simply see who the greater warrior was. While Genesis had defeated the majority of the Keybarers he had met in combat, he was not doing so as a means to claim fame. A victory here would prove nothing in terms of how strong he were. A defeat was not going to damage his pride either. To be honest, he was hoping this boy was something special and that he did have what it took to defeat the Crimson SOLDIER, but as the boy so rightly pointed out, he had every right of his own to decide what he wanted to do. "Who can say you WILL win until after you've tried?" Genesis' mako infused eyes flashed brightly for a second as his smirk spread further across his face. The LOVELESS fanatic felt excited. It was an honour to be able to cross weapons with a Keybarer. Rumours of their strength and intelligence was given life thanks to Night and Selena and their good deeds towards protecting the innocent and fighting back the Heartless was admirable as was proven by Riku and Sora. But what of this boy? This Nobody? He looked like Sora though his Keyblade appeared to indicate that maybe he wielding Dark powers, yet his 'Clean up duty' of removing the Darkness from this world would overwrite that.
Lifting his Rapier up before him, holding the elegant weapon horizontally at arms length, the Crimson SOLDIER placed his left palm against the flat of the blade before running his palm down it's length. As he did so, he released some of his potent magical capabilities into the blade, causing it to gain a brilliant crimson glow that resembled the entire weapon being on fire. Genesis had simply Imbued his Sword to give the weapon better stability in blocking and a more sharp cutting edge in attacking. These Keyblades was mysterious weapons and the 1st Class SOLDIER was not going to take any risks in underestimating Roxas' potential power. "Show me everything you have, but let us try and take care with the books. It would be a disaster if they were destroyed in a reckless battle." Asked Genesis, his tone poetic and polite as it had been throughout their encounter together. With that said and done, the SOLDIER lowered himself down into his fighting stance, holding his Imbued Rapier before him with both hands gripping the highly decorated hilt.
Imbue Sword - Effect is Active. -- Genesis runs his left palm down the length of his blade, giving his weapon a bright crimson aura as it's imbued with his magic. An imbued rapier gives it greater attacking strength and defending capabilities.

((This post does not stink and I’m glad you’re having fun. I am too. *chuckles* ^^ Yes, sleep does help when writing.))
Roxas watched his opponent carefully as he answered his question, explaining the situation at hand. The young Nobody slowly nodded at the words. Good answer. This one was definitely not the type to be overconfident nor was he in the department of controlling others. He understood where he and Roxas stood on the board and accepted the fact the Nobody was not going to trust so easily.
“Fair enough,” he responded back to the guy, a hint of appreciation hidden under his words. At least he wasn’t trying to force him to do something he did not want to do. He could respect someone like that and maybe in turn even aid said person. Of course, it would take more than this one meeting to get the keybearer to help him. Still, out of all the others that wielded Darkness, this guy had a better chance at gaining the young Nobody’s help simply because he had decided to go against the grain of typical Dark warrior behavior and showed himself to be a respectful person instead of an overly arrogant and power hungry one. Points won there.
When the guy smirked and questioned him about winning, Roxas returned the smirk with a genuine smile as he watched the guy carefully.
“Oh, you make it sound so easy to defeat me,” he said, easily accepting the challenge the Man in Red had given him earlier, but there was no hostility in his words. Despite the guy being of Dark, he managed to win some of Roxas’s respect turning what could’ve been a ugly encounter between the pair into one that was more on the level of a somewhat friendly competition. Granted, Roxas was not at full power by a long shot, but even so he would not fall so easily. As he watched the man cast some sort of spell upon his sword making it appear to be on fire, he began to wonder just how powerful his opponent was. Was this going to be another Roy moment where he was overpowered no matter how hard he tried or would he be an equal match? The answer to that question would definitely be fun to figure out.
As the man challenged him again, Roxas's slight smile turned into a smirk.
“As you wish,” he said, the earlier coldness completely gone from his voice. A moment of silence and stillness passed between them as the wind drifted through the room once more. Then the smirk vanished from Roxas's face as he focused on his opponent. The man didn’t attack, so the first move up to him. Right.
To begin the battle, Roxas moved forward, letting his natural speed close the distance between the pair. When he was within range, he made a horizontal swipe at the guy, swinging with enough force to hopefully break that stance he was in.
