[Well, let's give this everything we've got! I hope this turned out alright. I almost forgot to post. ^^' That could have been bad.] ---- Tseng let out a slight sigh. He and Aya had been working on scouting Ivalice for their missing friends and family. However, after hours of searching, Tseng had come up with nothing. He had not found a single person that knew anything about the young girl, Eve, or about any of the missing ShinRa members. The Director was about out of hope. He'd scouted both Gaias and this world and not found a single clue to point them in the right direction.
He decided to fall back early to meet Aya. They had set a meeting place earlier that day along with a time. The two had met a few days earlier on her home planet and the two had agreed to an alliance. Tseng would assist her in searching for her daughter, Eve. In return, Aya would keep an eye out for any of the Turks or the President.
As he was doubling back toward their meeting point, he noticed another being nearby. There was something unsettling about them. However, Tseng sat down to wait for the young woman that resembled Elena. Tseng normally would not have sat in the same area as someone that made him feel uncomfortable, but he was a Turk. He had a gun if something happened. Plus, It wouldn't be long till Aya would show up.
While waiting, Tseng leaned up against a wall. They were in one of the major cities on the continent of Ivalice. He was not quite sure which city they were in, but it made no difference. It was hard enough searching one world for a few people. However, searching a universe of countless worlds for a few people was like finding a needle in a haystack.

The Heartless had been wandering around Ivalice for a while now, but the large population inside the major cities didn’t really do well for him. Just the urge to attack and take their hearts was getting too much for him while amongst the crowds. His appearance only already attracted attention, a strange human in filthy clothing with yellow eyes did make him give odd looks even for the non-human folks. Instead, the Heartless searched for shelter from his urges to wipe out the population in less populated areas.
This world stinks of people, too many, he had noticed parts that were poorer, people he’d be willing to help more. How did I ever get involved in all of this? The question echoed in his head as he pondered about it, maybe I should speak him once again, as he thought of Night and walked on. His urge to jump into the populated areas and take people’s hearts still stood.
“Is there no rest to this endless hunger? I recall the start of this second life as a lazy one,” he told himself as he looked around. He could actually sense here and there some Heartless, meaning this world had gotten close enough to get involved in the wars. Still I try to save these places, he thought with a sigh and let his arms hang down while walking somewhat like some zombie onward, but I really need a better agreement to all this. Or some better... understanding.
He wondered where he should be heading... “Light took this place, don’t seem to be that those two murderers are here either,” he said to himself as he looked around the few people he noticed along the way until he came to a part of the city that was nearly deserted. Even if it was just a small spot.
OOC Note Gotten a little busy with school, sorry for the hurried post.

OOC: Alright I’m just going to assume that the spot Whatever walked to was the meeting spot. If you’d rather I not, just give me a heads up later and I’ll rewrite my post but either way I didn’t plan on noticing Whatever quite yet with my post. IC: What a strange world, a former officer of Deling City would muse as he she walked around a city that Tseng and her had begun their search on. They had only met a few days ago but they were already hard at work, trying to cover more ground by searching together at the same time. At the moment Aya wasn’t getting anywhere though, all she was finding out was just how incredibly different, or rather weird this world was in comparison to her own. Everywhere she looked she saw beast like creatures standing on two legs, conducting business or just making idle conversation. It was surprising to see that the other human looking folk weren’t particularly afraid of those creatures, the blond not quite able to comprehend why. Unless maybe they’re all monsters like me, I suppose that’d be as good a reason as any other,[/i] she thought morbidly, looking down to the ground with a melancholic look in her eyes. She knew it was bad to keep thinking of her powers as a curse, Tseng having told her himself that it was a good thing if anything, but she couldn’t help it. Her life had changed so abruptly just a couple weeks ago it was hard to grasp the reality of the entire situation at hand. It was like something straight out of a science-fiction novel or comic book, suddenly receiving this destructive power and having her child taken from her on the same day. The day after she lost her job at the precinct and was isolated from the closest thing she had to a “family”. It wasn’t like I particularly went out of my way to be friends with anyone at the station but…[/i] she thought as she looked to the sky, the same depressed look on her face as she sighed heavily, It was nice knowing that someone had your back if things got hairy. You could always call for backup and so long as you didn’t get on anyone’s bad side. And those meatheads at the station were loyal, if anything to a fault,[/i] she thought before bringing her head back down to look in front of her. She proceeded to walk forward as she slipped her hand in the pocket of her jeans, pulling out the picture of Eve and her at the amusement park. She smiled warmly as she reminisced on that day once more, shaking her head as her resolve was renewed once more. But I can be depressed some other time, I have to find Eve before it’s too late… and I suppose Tseng’s acquaintances too,[/i] she mused before smirking lightly, and according to my watch it’s just ten minutes before we’re supposed to meet up… hopefully he’s had a little more luck than me,[/i] she continued in her mind as she walked toward the meeting place. X---A few minutes later---X Luckily for the former officer, the route she had taken had leaded her back more or less to the appointed meeting spot. She spotted Tseng in the distance, her face neutral as she waved over to him and soon took a seat next to him. Mimicking his idea, Aya had leaned back against the wall that was nearby, a heavy heave escaping her lips as she glanced over to him.
“Any luck?” she asked, keeping her words simple and to the point. As the words escaped her lips she would cross her arms, closing her eyes to rest them for a moment and listen to Tseng’s response. Her attention was focused on him for the moment and she didn’t even notice the rather weird looking fellow that seemed to be making his way toward this rather empty area. Well not that she would be interested in speaking to him anyway, she had already gotten her weekly dose of “weirdo” from Mordred. Ugh, just thinking of that guy gives me the creeps,[/i]

[Sorry, I'm not feeling well. I should have posted yesterday. I am sorry guys...] ---- There wasn't too much going on in town. So, the Turk just stood there for a bit. It was much like being home. He could listen to the hustle and bustle of the world. He felt a bit comfortable with the environment. However, it still was not home and his guard was still completely up. There wasn't time to drop it and the stakes were far too high.
His eyes moved toward the sound when he heard Aya's boots. As she appeared, he pushed himself off the wall to stand professionally like he always would. It wasn't becoming to lean against a wall. Though, much to Tseng's amusement, she copied his actions and leaned as well. However, he was now facing her as she asked if he had any luck. The Wutai man simply shook his head with a neutral expression.
"Sadly, no. I couldn't locate any information on them." It was disappointing, but there was nothing they could do about it. He had yet to notice Whatever. "I take it you had no luck either."

Having simply been thinking of all the problems thus far didn't really work out for him. I believe my kind aren't into the positive kind, in which case that girl fits quite well. I might be negative, I still am "brighter" than her, he figured and wondered if it had been the same for the boy. Another Heartless he had met. Also the first girl Heartless he was also uncertain of, maybe just a workaholic or someone that didn't like lazy people.
Taking a look around, the Heartless noticed someone familiar suddenly. Wait, I did attack her... I believe... he thought bothered to himself, but also remembering there was a girl with her. One that felt... well... How does nothing feel? It seemed strange still to him.
Regardless of all those thoughts, he started to walk over to Tseng and Aya. "Hello... you alright? And the girl that was with you last time in that forest?" He simply asked slowly and scratched the back of his head, not really knowing whether he was interrupting or not. He wasn't the social kind anyway, "don't know what went wrong that time... Just suddenly went berserk, maybe a spell failure as I tried to conjure a rock to throw at the tree."
OOC Note Short and everything, but my internet's been bugging me and today it seems to be acting funnier than ever. It doesn't let me on much. :S I got no idea what's wrong with it, but I hope to get it fixed. Sorry for shortness, but I wanted to get something in before my internet dies completely and I can't post at all.

Opening her eyes as Tseng spoke; she noted his change of posture, a small smirk curving against her lips at the sight. Despite the fact that there was no one else to see, the leader of the Turks tried to maintain that professional demeanor of his. Well not that Aya could blame him anyway, back on the force she acted much the same and with the thought in mind she raised herself to a stand as she glanced toward him. ”Indeed, it seems that even with our combined efforts we’re not making much headway,” she started, a small “hmph” escaping her lips as she crossed her arms and closed her eyes again, ”I might start searching for that Sephiroth fellow along with those other guys you told me about, perhaps they have an information network we can exploit,” she noted, opening her eyes to look forward at nothing in particular. Well that had been the intent but instead she was faced with a man, if one could even call it that, she met no more than a day ago. Her eyes flared up as she glared at him, a piercing glare that could kill if her pistol didn’t end up doing the job. ”Be careful… he’s dangerous,” the former officer whispered, giving Tseng a bit of a warning. Regardless, Whatever soon spoke, asking how she was doing as well as the girl that had also been present that day. Yes, that odd girl who spoke of a concept foreign to the officer, something about fighting with one’s “heart” and who had an uncanny resemblance to Eve. The thought of the girl distracted her from answering the question immediately but her attention was brought back to present when Whatever tried to explain himself. Apparently he didn’t have control over his powers and while perhaps he thought Aya would forgive and forget with that knowledge, she did anything but. Instead her glare only grew sharper as she gritted her teeth, parting her lips to speak. ”So you were aware that something like that might happen and yet you used that spell anyway? Perhaps you should think things through before trying to play hero next time, you could have killed that girl had I not been there,” she spat back, her voice laced with venom. Perhaps she was being a tad harsh, had it only been her life in danger at that time she may have cut the guy a little slack but there was a child as well. Whatever the circumstance, Aya couldn’t forgive someone that put a kid in danger or neglected them… including herself. The thought of Eve surfaced in her head with that train of thought, a grimace curving against her lips as she averted her eyes for but a moment. And had I been there for Eve maybe I could have…[/i] she trailed off in her head, shaking it lightly as she balled her hand into fists, I won’t let that happen to anyone else ever again![/i] she finished in her head as she reached for her pistol, glancing around the area. At the moment it seemed that no innocent bystanders were around but if any did pass by things could get ugly fast. Furthermore, once she began firing her gun, at the very least whatever form of law enforcement this world would probably be quick to follow. She needed to play this smart and thus she merely rested her hand on her firearm, ready to draw but not pointing it at the monster’s face. ”I suggest you leave now before you end up hurting other people as well. I’d rather not fight but if you leave me no other choice than I’ll shoot you down without hesitation,” she noted calmly, her eyes remaining on Whatever, ”I hope you got my back if this situation turns sour,” she whispered to Tseng, a smirk curving against her lips, ”Here’s hoping he just leaves though, I’m still sore from the last encounter,”

Tseng was a bit uncomfortable when Aya noticed his movements. Yes, it was the more professional thing to stand straight and it was practically second nature. Reno would do something like continuing to lean on a wall. So, Tseng wanted to keep himself separate from the lazy and unkempt Turk. Even if no one was there to see him, he wanted to keep up this image of the Turks. That they were competent, experience,s and efficient.
After a moment, she stood up as well. Tseng smiled for a brief moment for her to see that he had noticed. But, there was no need to say anything verbally. They were both intelligent enough to get what the other was saying. It had to have been fate that took him into that small restaurant where they had met. If she had been born in Gaia, there would be no question of whether she had made Turk or not. She'd of made it.
Aya began to speak again and Tseng nodded. "It's also possible none of our charges are on this planet either." The moment she began to mention Sephiroth, the light expression on his face began to fade. "I don't believe he is a source we should be speaking to. He will kill anyone th-" He was cut off by the entrance of another man. The way Aya tensed up, Tseng knew that there was an issue before she spoke.
He didn't move for his gun quite yet. The newcomer spoke in a strange tone and mentioned that he had lost control of his powers. It was almost an apology, but yet, there was a tone that almost rubbed it in Aya's face. He stayed completely neutral and out of the discussion. The banter continued with Aya's response. She was correct, if you knew an ability could backfire, why use it? Especially risking an innocent's life. A young girl. Tseng put two and two together, staying out of it.
She then whispered to him again. It seemed that this man was a lot stronger than he seemed to look. A lot of people were fitting that description anymore. The weaker they looked, the stronger they were. Hopefully this would not turn into a battle. Yet it was now up for the other man to decide. He would either leave, or stay. One would calm things, the other would cause tension and lead to a fight. "I'm here..." Which in Turk talk meant, 'I've got your back.'

The Heartless raised an eyebrow, "no... my spell never did that before. I always launched rocks and it was the first time it did that," he replied to the woman in a tone as if she was insulting him. He shook his head, then held an open hand. In the hand, shadows started to swirl around his hand, "look, a different, but similar spell," in his hand the shape of a gun was made, but with a longer barrel and thicker side as it was also made to block melee weapons.
"I recently learned that my ability to cast a spell could also call out different spells. So instead of using a stone shooting spell, I use some berserk form spell that I can't control," he merely gave as explanation. "I'm not here to harm anyone. I just want to protect these worlds from the war between Light and Darkness. The war upsets the balance," he said calm. He understood that the woman was upset about his attack on her and the child. The gun vanished in his hand again.
The Heartless then wondered if the two of them needed help, or if he should just leave them be as he went on to try and keep the world Neutral. Oh well, I can leave them alone and they'll probably leave too, he thought to himself, wondering if there was anyone going to attack him. He moved back, "if you need any help, just ask. Otherwise, I wish you good luck further on."

A small smile curved against the former officer's lips as she heard Tseng speak but two words. While he wouldn't be able to see it as she had stepped a little bit in front of him, it was probably one of the warmer ones she had worn in a while, hell even since birth. It disappeared rather quickly though as the blond vixen kept her attention on Whatever, listening to his explanation and not pleased by it at all. He didn't sound the least bit remorseful for what he had done and seemed to act as if it was no big deal that he nearly killed her and the child that day. When he opened his hand and shadows began to swirl in it, her eyes widen as she quickly drew her gun, pointing it straight at his forehead. If looks could kill, the intense glare that she was shooting the Heartless would have already done so.
Despite all this anger though, the former officer held herself back for the moment, waiting for the weird fellow to finish. He continued making excuses, now bringing up some story about wanting to protect the worlds which she certainly found a laughable pursuit. He could hardly control himself from killing two innocent bystanders and he wanted to save the world? Regardless, when he finished telling his story and allowed the gun to fade away, Aya kept her gun trained on him still, not budging an inch from her stance.
"Need any help? Why would I ask for help from someone who acts as if nearly murdering two innocent bystanders is something he can talk about nonchalant? Why would I ask help from someone who doesn't even have enough decency to even try and apologize for his actions? All you've done is made excuses!" she shot back, the anger in her tone evident as her body threatened to shake from the fury. She kept steady though, not allowing her aim to suffer from the maelstrom of emotions that were going through her heart right now. Anger, guilt, sorrow, and many more swirled in her head but her resolve remained as firm as steel. She couldn't allow her emotions to get the better of her, it was because of that weakness... that Eve had been taken in the first place.
Focus damn it... focus on the task at hand Brea![/i]

Honestly, Tseng felt extremely out of the loop on this one. He wasn't sure how strong this being was or even how much of a threat he could be. Though when Whatever summoned the weapon, Tseng raised his guard a bit more. If he could summon a gun that simply, then there was no telling how strong he really was or what powers he had up his sleeve. The Director shifted his hand down into his gun belt to get a grip on the weapon.
Though, after a moment the being infront of Aya took as step back and seemed less than threatening. Aya, on the other hand, seemed to almost be taking the offensive. Her tone slipped in a way and it was obvious other things were hindering her.
Tseng took action and shifted over to Aya, a hand on her shoulder. Hopefully it would be enough to calm her down. "Why do you think that the neutral is much better than the light?" He asked the man standing before him. "In my opinion, if a world is neutral, than it is simply closer to the darkness... and that is never a place you want to end up." He paused, glancing the being over. "I take it you want the world to become susceptible to the darkness? Or are you simply unaware of the consequences of your actions."
Normally, he'd never agree with the light. However, in this situation, he wouldn't want to side with someone that had unintentionally attacked Aya. If those were the kind of people that sided with the neutral, maybe he should have the Turks side with the light. Avalanche weren't stupid.

The Heartless shook is head, getting very annoyed with the woman now. He was just trying to apologize, but having lived his life in a cell or in an arena doesn't teach him much other than survival. "Do you expect me to know all that much? Have you taken a good look at me?" He questioned the lady, "I became free from my former life as a slave and am just trying to help others not to end up going through what I've been through."
He then turned his attention to the man, who seemed to deem 'darkness' as 'evil'. "Do you know what I am? I'm darkness. Darkness doesn't mean evil, the people that held me as a slave alongside many others, thrown us in pits to fight to our deaths, they were on the side of Light. Do you believe that makes them good? That they had the right to starve us, to use us as animals? As just their pieces of a little game? Tortured and made to kill each other to survive? We were grown up just to be used as gladiators, pieces of furniture, or worse fates. I don't believe the 'Light' means 'good'."
He shook his head annoyed as he started to turn away, "I first fought for Darkness believing all of Light was madness. They all needed to die and would throw us in worse places than some kind of underworld. I'm only fighting in name of Neutrality due to Night wanting me to believe there's still some good in the 'Light'."

With a hand suddenly planted on Aya’s shoulder, her eyes widened as she flinched slightly at the touch, not having expected it. She turned her head to look at Tseng, her eyes still wide before she glanced away, looking to the ground as she let out a heavy sigh.
”Thanks… and sorry for dragging you into this… I just can’t forgive a guy that thinks so lightly of the consequences of his actions,” she noted, closing her eyes briefly before opening them again as she listened to Whatever’s story a little calmer now. Despite being in a calmer state of mind though, the former officer was subject to more incoherent ramblings that she couldn’t help but shake her head at… did this vagrant think she was a mind-reader? Honestly, how was she supposed to know he was a slave and apparently a gladiator as well? Because he wore torn rags and had a little bit of a physique, apparently the blond vixen was supposed to have deduced he was a former slave?
This guy is seriously the biggest idiot I’ve met and that’s saying something, the blond thought, repositioning the gun in her hands. Regardless, Aya allowed the man to finish his story, getting a few interesting tidbits of information out of it all. Apparently, he was the embodiment of darkness which in all honesty probably meant he was a Heartless in human form. While it was a bit of a longshot, considering his eyes were yellow like most Heartless and he exhibited such strange powers it seemed reasonable enough. He also dropped the name “Night”, a presumed ally or acquaintance of the Heartless in question, supposedly fighting for neutrality due to that person’s influence. While it was possible all his ramblings were lies, the former detective didn’t peg him for much of a liar thus far. A deceiver wouldn’t get so worked up and they’d remain calm if they were trying to convince people of such a tale. Whatever the case though, Aya was growing tired of this fellow and his incessant dialogue and thus decided now was as good as time as ever to tell him as such.
”What a touching story, unfortunately I could care less. I had no way of knowing of your “past” simply by appearance and to think that I might just makes you a presumptuous dunce. Furthermore, blaming your short-comings on a horrid past is nothing short of pathetic, we all have our problems and vices, it’s your own responsibility to make up for them. In terms of this whole, “Light VS Dark” thing, that affair doesn’t really concern me. What does concern me though is that the guy that almost killed me and a little girl wants to “protect” this world from the opposing forces. I can’t put faith in a man who doesn’t even know how to apologize nor control his own powers to do anything beneficial for this world. That being said, I’ll give you till the count of five to hightail it out of here before I fill you up with lead… and that’s no empty threat,” she spieled, cocking the hammer on her firearm back as she stared down Whatever. She would then begin the count, making her voice loud and clear as she uttered each number,
“1…”, she started, her eyes narrowing even further as she lined up her crosshair, “2…” she followed as her crosshair was placed right on Whatever’s chest, “3…” she added, her chest expanding as she took a deep breath, “4…” she continued, tightening the grip on her gun as her index finger coiled around the trigger, “5…” she announced and depending on whether the Heartless made itself scarce or not, he would either have three bullets headed toward his chest cavity or be slipping through a Corridor of Darkness.
