As Rapunzel’s hair flowed behind her in a golden display she felt a tug on her head. The Princess turned her head as Maximus made his way back to the ground to see Sora and Gothel suffering her hair. She grabbed the lot of her golden locks so that the weight of the two didn’t pull her from her horse. Everything seemed to be happening in slow motion. It seemed to take forever for the horse to make contacted with the ground and Rapunzel could feel every beat of her heart as she heard the sounds of Sora and Gothel fighting in the background. All of the sudden there were lights flashing and the cry of the Unversed field the princess’s ears. As the flower and the blader landed she shot the boy a smile and then blinked a few times. “What a sec weren’t you just wearing…?” Rapunzel started to say as she realized that the boy was now dress in red. “Ummmm. Never mind.” She grinned. After all she had magic glowing hair, who was she to judge clothes that could change colors.
A brilliant blast of light came from the Unversed that made Rapunzel half shield her eyes. They all watched the Unversed go down taken as section of the wall with it. The princess watched as Gothel staggered on the edge. She could clearly see that the so-called mother’s shoulder was injured and she guessed it was from her taken a swipe at the lady with her glass piece. The Flower of the Sun only heard what Roxas had said, the last words of Gothel were wasted as Rapunzel blocked her out since she wasn’t saying anything about Flynn. The Princess just watched as Pascal pulled a similar trick on the old lady as he did before, but this time Rapunzel wasn’t going to lunged for her. Instead the girl watched as her mother was tripped and sent out of the hole made by the creature that they had just defeated. The young girl with the golden hair dropped the glass that she had wielded as a weapon. The glass fragment fell to the cold stone ground at their feet as Gothel fell to the ground below the castle. By the time the glass hit the ground Rapunzel knew that Gothel had also made it to the depths below and just as the glass shattered into hundreds of glittering pieces so would Gothel. The wind blew the glitter away.
Rapunzel took a sigh of relief knowing that this ordeal was finally over. She looked over to Sora and his friends. It was over for her but their journey and turmoil has only begun. The flower frowned at the thought. They were all just young people who had lives of their own. It was unfair that the weight of everyone’s lands rested on these young boy’s shoulders.
A voice came from a section of the wall that called out to Rapunzel breaking her thoughts. “Eugine!” She called out as she jumped off of Maximus and went running towards the fallen man. She looked the former thief over and he didn’t appear to be injured in any shape or form. He just seemed drugged up at the moment.
Rapunzel stepped aside as Sora and Laguna lifted the groggy prince on to Maximus. “Thank you.” Rapunzel said to each one of the boys in a rather royal tone that she had been taught to use over the year that she had been a princess. “And the Kingdom of Corona thanks you as well.” She had tried so hard to hide the fact that she was a princess because she was afraid if they found out then they wouldn’t let her help but now it didn’t matter since the fight was over.
Rapunzel felt a hand on her should and turned to see Sora. “I think we are fine now.” She grinned tossing aside her princess tone of voice. "Thank you." The flower nodded to the boy. “I will call for you. And we are friends.” Tears started to form in her eyes. She wasn’t really good at goodbyes but knew that they had to part ways.
Rapunzel giggled at Laguna. “I make no promises about the frying pan.” She smirked in a playful way. “Don’t come crashing in and scaring me half to death anymore and you got yourself a deal.” More tear started to swell up in her eyes even though she was trying to be funny about things.
As Sora and Laguna talked Rapunzel looked around and saw Roxas open one of those strange portals. She quickly reached around Flynn and got into a satchel on the one side of Maximus. “Before you all go.” She called to everyone. “I have something for all of you as a token of my appreciation.” She pulled out three small bottles. The tears that were in her eyes fell down her cheeks and into each of the small bottles. Then she scribbled something down on three pieces of paper. Each of the boys received a bottle with a few drops of tears and a paper with a familiar song on it. “I am not sure if these will work or not but it the best I could do.” She smiled. “My hair isn’t the only thing that can heal, my tears can too. If you sing that song the whole threw and place the tears on your wound they will heal you. And if you are ever in a dark place and sing the first verse of the song, then the tears will glow just like my hair and will light your way. I really can’t thank you enough and I hope to see you all again someday."
A vacuum sounded form behind Rapunzel. At first she just thought it was the sound of Roxas leaving but when she turned around she saw that two Corridors had formed. She looked at them wide eyed. Which one was she to take? She head off to the one on the right but her heart told her to go left. She stopped short of the portal and then head in the direction that her heart was being pulled. As she did so she was stopped abruptly when she noticed that Maximus was heading to the opposite portal. The horse turned and looked at the princess. She had a feeling she knew what was going on. The portal that Max and Flynn were heading for was the portal home, and the other portal held something else. The princess looked down and then walked over to the horse. “I am sorry but it looks like we have to part ways for now.” She said out load to the horse. “Take care of Eugine for me.” The horse nuzzled her in a way that was begging her to come back home with them. “I am sorry but I can’t.” She turned the horse's head towards Sora. "The fate of my kingdom shouldn’t rest with him alone. Not that I don’t think he couldn’t do it…It is just it is my kingdom and I want to protect it myself. If we all truly care what happens to our wolrd then we should be willing to fight alongside these boys instead of putting the buried on their shoulders alone.” She turned the horse's head back to face her. “Do you understand? I will call out for you if I need you, but first take the prince home.” Maximus stood there for a moment and then nodded his head sadly. “And I am as stubborn as they come so my mind will not be changed! “ She said loudly with a smirk looking back at Sora.
Rapunzel sighed and then head to the other portal. Pascal, who was on her shoulder, gave her the thumbs up. She turned and gave Sora a nod. The princess with Pascal and Maximus with Flynn Rider headed into their own portals. Max’s portal closed behind him as he and his rider were lost to the void of color that would take them home. As Rapunzel approached her portal her hair began to glow as if it were protecting her heart from the darkness within the portal. She took a deep breath and stepped inside. Her hair’s glowing faded away and the brown strains of hair that were caused during that battle were restored back to their full length and once again gold. Judging by that alone Rapunzel knew that her destiny was now a part of something that was brand new. She had a feeling that her world was about to collide with many others. It would seem that her journey isn’t over either. The Portal behind the princess closed, but not in its normal, dark whooshing sound. Instead it closed with a whipping nose and a flash of golden light.
