Walking through an abnormally thick forest, the freelancer breathed a sigh as he killed yet another Heartless, this bringing his tally up to two-hundred and thirty-seven since he landed on this world. While slaying Heartless was normally a fun thing to do, after the first hundred it tended to get boring as they provided very little challenge to the job he was asked to do. Indeed, the job he had set out to do today was given to him by a neighboring village, the leader of said village having requested he do something about the influx of darkness in their world. It was a simple job really although what made it difficult was the addition of another person joining him, his current employer Genesis.
When he had informed Genesis that he would be taking a bit of downtime to take care of this world, much to his surprise the LOVELESS quoter decided to tag along. While he didn’t necessarily mind his company, Felix typically worked alone when taking jobs such as this one as it made things more interesting. Indeed, with an ally in arms to assist him the Heartless were proving beyond easy to crush, the freelancer having yet to break a sweat. Perhaps he should have added a handicap to himself, the thought occurred upon slaying the 250th heartless, maybe tie one hand behind his back or something.
Hmph or maybe just head-butts, it’d certainly be entertaining if not difficult,[/i] he thought as he took a break from the Heartless slaying to take a breath. Looking over to Genesis, he crossed his arms as a smirk curved against his lips, deciding that a little bit of conversation during the short intermission would be pleasant.
”Jeez the Heartless are annoying on this world, it’s as if they breed like rabbits… I can see why that village wanted their population curbed a little bit,” he started, letting out a sigh as he looked over to the village that was off in the distance, barely noticeable from where they stood, ”Whatever the case what have you been up to? You haven’t called upon my services in a while so I got to admit I’m feeling a bit lonely… or rather my wallet’s feeling a bit empty but why sweat the details?” he added, letting out a small “hmph” as the words escaped his mouth. Although immediately after his remark he scratched the back of his head grinning sheepishly.
”Err well that’s assuming you want to tell me anyway, I respect one’s privacy and need to keep secrets from hired hands,” he explained almost as if it was habit to add those words afterwards… if anything they were. Indeed, the freelancer had been around the block quite a few times in the year and half or so that he had spent as a sellsword and prying into client’s lives was often frowned upon from what he had experienced. He had made the mistake a time or two and it cost him a few clients as they didn’t want him asking questions. It wasn’t his place to ask anyway, once they had given him his compensation he would leave them to do another job somewhere else so he didn’t need to know. The only information he needed was what was relevant to the job itself and the pay should he finish the job. Only difference here was, after spending quite a bit of time working for Genesis, fighting for him and against him, he had begun to grow a bit fond of the LOVELESS quoter, beginning to think of him as a friend as dangerous of a thought that was.
I can’t say for sure if he thinks the same of me though so it best I keep my mouth shut… a jape here and there is fine but I shouldn’t be asking questions ne?[/i] he pondered as he shook his head, whatever, now’s not the time, need to get back to work,[/i] he finished mentally and as he bounced off the tree to do so, his eyes suddenly widened as his ears perked up. He wasn’t sure if it was just some woodlands creature or not, but for the first time he heard the distinct sound of what seemed to be footsteps. Looking over in the direction, his eyes narrowed as his eyes turned to ice for that moment, focusing his senses all around him… it seemed they had company.

Footsteps led the Remnant towards the duo that had come across this world. While he didn't really know what they were there for, he was particularly interested in Genesis being there. Yazoo had been there for several days now with several reasons.
One of them being that this was Maurelle's home world, she had turned the place to Darkness and it was possibly the reason for all the Heartless moving around. A second reason was due to a certain crashed ship in some of the fields in this world. It was at some farm lands, quite a bit away from the forest they were in, but his interest in the ship was due to another Heartless, this time the pirate he had not seen in a long time.
Maurelle and Cir'zur were two of the first Heartless he had met since his journey started around these worlds and they neither seemed to be around anymore. Perhaps Cir'zur was still, but he had not seen or heard of the pirate for such a long time that he could assume the man was dead. Possibly the best way to learn of the pirate's faith is by speaking to the Organization, he figured, reminding himself of the Heartless' hatred towards Nobodies and the Organization seemingly governing over the biggest pack.
The world of Ferser was gone from the charts with the man himself, he had never met Kuja, but he had heard of his 'death' from Maurelle. Stroud was taken down by the Masked Man. Valerius and Maurelle... he still wasn't sure what to think of the two, whether they were truly gone or still around somewhere. He figured he'd best start at Maurelle's home world and immediately learn more about Cir'zur. He couldn't see Silv as anything but useful and there was the Heartless in the arena that looked like a homeless begger that you would find at multiple worlds alongside the road.
His research was put on a hold, though. Now he needed to deal with Genesis and the man known as Felix. A mercenary from what he understood, as long as you paid him, he would do most jobs. A tool that could be useful, he thought to himself.
His footsteps ended as he faced the two now, "hello... 'brother'." A light smirk played on his face as he tilted his head to look at Genesis. With a short pause, he continued calm: "what brings you here?"

The forest was unusually thick, both with a ridiculous number of trunks growing skywards as well as with the leaves and branches covering the skies overhead. If it wasn't for the birds chirping and singing in their nests an upon branches, one could have easily confused the time if day for being closer to night. It wasn't night though, just the thickness of the forest canopy blocking out nearly all of the sunlight. That made the forest very humid, the canopy trapping the warmth behind it which in turn caused the air to grow thicker. It was probably closer to being a jungle then that of a forest, but maybe it only felt that way due to the day itself being pleasantly warm? Who knew? Either way, the day was going to be a quite one. Perhaps not for a certain red-head, but certainly for the man in the crimson coat following behind. Apparently, Felix had been asked to scout the forests surrounding a small village to find and eliminate the source of the Darkness that had made it's way to this world. Amusingly, Felix had decided that the best approach to tackling this situation was to destroy every single Heartless that crossed his path.
Felix spoke up as he sliced his way through another Heartless that tried to pounce on him and the auburn-haired man following him simply shook his head from side to side and chuckled aloud. "You're still so green, Felix. Have you not figured it out yet?" Genesis Rhapsodos spoke, his tone calm and soft as it usually was. His eyes were glowing brightly thanks to the Mako within his veins, but there was a friendly smile spread across his lips as he continued to follow and watch his 'employee' before him, occasionally pausing and turning to defend himself from the random Heartless that decided to take him on, however the majority of them appeared to be far more interested in Felix. Possibly that was due to him showing up on this world where he didn't belong and start to kill off the Heartless. Who wouldn't attack a random stranger who suddenly appeared and starting to kill all your friends? "The Heartless are eternal. You can kill millions of them and they will keep coming to attack you. So long as your Heart catches their attention, you'll never defeat them. Like a weed that sprouts in the garden, the only way to deal with it is to take out the roots."
Genesis' tone was clearly one of that trying to offer encouragement and to see if he could help Felix try alternatives methods over a mindless slaughter of the Heartless. Of course, this wasn't too bad a thing. The Heartless were a problem and they did consume worlds and kill innocents, but in the long run, Felix's approach was more suited to releasing ones anger and hatred towards the Darkness and the Heartless over attempting to find a possible solution to obliterate both for good. Of course, this was totally impossible. People simply chose not to believe it. Cosmos herself spoke of preserving balance. She too much have seen, much have known, that trying to defeat the Darkness was futile. Not because it was too strong, but because the Light needed the Darkness to survive. Genesis was thankfully spared from thinking too much about the situation again due to Felix speaking up a second time, asking the LOVELESS quoter what he had been up to recently. True, the last time their paths crossed was when they stood opposite one another in the last Tournament.
"Been finding a lot of my own work recently." The Crimson SOLDIER said in reply, his smile weakening slightly as images of the Masked Man and the disappearance of Angeal came to mind. There was also the training of Akemi and figuring out what had become of Cloud. Not to forget, Sephiroth was still on the loose. There was a lot going on, but the main priority was to find and deal with the Masked Man before he could corrupt any more worlds. Fortunately, Beast's Castle was spared and it was lucky the Crimson SOLDIER were able to force Solus and Riku to flee before the Beast himself attacked them. "You ever heard of someone calling himself 'Masked Man'?" Genesis asked curiously, one of his eyebrows hitching up slightly as he posed the question. While he may well know more then Felix did, it wasn't going to hurt to ask. Of course, Felix himself was going to get ever more interested now, but so long as the Crimson SOLDIER supplied the coin/gil/munny, he knew Felix was going to be loyal.
Before he could go into it further, a frighteningly familiar presence started to drew closer and closer, a presence that caused the Crimson SOLDIER to halt and stand as solid as a stature. Other then the wind blowing through his hair and coat, the only thing to move on the SOLDIER 1st Class was his brightly glowing eyes. They flicked from left, to the right, up towards the canopy and then straight ahead of him. The crunching of dirt and grass indicated that the SOLDIER had turned about, casting a glance back the way both Felix and himself had come from. ".... Is Sephiroth here...?" He spoke aloud, but his words were barely above a whisper. A snapping twig upon the floor caused the SOLDIER 1st Class to turn back around and cast his eyes upon a black clothed individual making his way towards him. Long silver hair, a powerful Darkness about him... but no Masamune... no flowing black coat... no... emotion. What the heck was this... thing standing before him??
Genesis didn't move an inch when he was addressed, most curiously as 'Brother'. The Crimson SOLDIER didn't know who this silver-haired man was, but there was more then enough questions he wanted to send back at this... 'Sephiroth doppelganger'. "I'm sorry, you must have me confused for someone else. I don't have any brothers." Genesis replied, deciding to play along and see what happened. His hands curled into fists subtle, the leather gloves covering his hands creaking as the material tightened about his grip. At the same time, he rose his mental guard, keeping his eyes locked onto the silver-haired man and listening out for any other sounds resembling more people approaching his and Felix's location. Something didn't feel right here... and Genesis didn't like it at all.

Huh?[/i] was the only thing that came to Felix' mind as the man in what seemed to be black spandex made his presence known claiming he was Genesis' brother. Raising an eyebrow at the statement, the freelancer moved his glance back and forth between the two, attempting to find any sort of resemblance... needless to say not much was found.
I swear these silver-haired meatballs are all so damn strange. First it was that one with the double katanas, then that one with the incredibly long katana that was obviously compensating for something, and now this one claiming to be a brother to Genesis when they look NOTHING alike. Honestly I think that confirms my theory beyond a shadow of a doubt now, all these guys with silver hair are psychopaths to the bone,[/i] he thought, sighing lightly at the ridiculousness of it all but still keeping an eye on him, That theory also states that they're all monsters that are ludicrously strong and are always bad news. Although he doesn't seem like he wants to fight just yet I better not drop my guard,[/i] he mused as Genesis replied to the odd statement. Taking a deep breath, the red-head would lean his back against a nearby tree as he crossed his arms, still ready to fight if need be with a hard stare directed toward the remnant across from him.
"Hey now what about me? Aren't you interested in why I'm here?" he started, his tone obviously intent on annoying the silver-haired brat, "I mean come on that's just rude, you didn't even greet me properly but you're already calling my employer your bro, didn't your mother ever teach you manners?" he added wanting to see how the man reacted. Whatever the case, he would then remain indifferent allowing Genesis to do as he pleased in the situation as the red-head seemed to be the man out. Indeed, perhaps Genesis would like to probe the silver-haired freak for a bit of information and that wasn't something Felix would interfere with.
Although if you go to attack him or me you can bet your ass you'll be on the wrong end of my boot rather quickly,[/i] he mused as he waited to see how the situation proceeded.

Yazoo only tilted his head lightly as he peered at Genesis. His light smirk did not fade as he came to a conclusion to himself. "I... see," he continued calm to respond to Genesis. He continued to ignore Felix for the most bit, but felt a bit annoyed when Felix brought up the 'mother' bit. His smirk faded and Yazoo responded: "I was expecting someone... else," there was some truth in it as he went by his memory.
As he turned his attention back to Genesis, he simply looked the man over once more. Having had troubles through timelines didn't really matter that greatly, it only added to the problems if he had to deal with Genesis. While he had not been entering the tournaments, he had heard some things. "I am Yazoo," he said after a moment, just giving the two a name to call him by. It was also a form of a greeting like the red-head wanted.
Still, he never really received an answer on why they were here and he wasn't about to ask the two with the red-head spouting out all his nonsense. He was more interested in what this Genesis was up to as his knowledge, regardless of all he had learned from several sources, was limited when it came to the two SOLDIERs First Class: Genesis Rhapsodos and Angeal Hewley.
Knowing that Genesis possibly already related him with Sephiroth, Yazoo could guess somewhat what might go through Genesis' mind. He sensed no other presences about but the two of them. So just them, he figured, wondering whether these two were also fighting in this war between the Dark and the Light, and possibly the Neutral. Or whether they were here just for... different things. It was even possible that they were out to find Sephiroth and stumbled upon him instead.

Thankfully, it had appeared that the only other 'guest' aside from the Heartless both Felix and himself were going to have today, would be this very man standing before them. This long haired man who resembled Sephiroth both physically and spiritually, made the Crimson SOLDIER remember all the clones that had been made in his image due to Hollander. Was this black attired individual a clone of Sephiroth? There were subtle differences that stood them apart however, such as the lack of long silver bangs falling before his eyes. He also appeared smaller in both height and body size. The lack of Masamune was also something easily noticed. The clothing he wore too as different somewhat, though a first glance would easily replace this man with Sephiroth's image instead. There was another thing missing too... that black wing. Keeping all this in mind, Genesis was still concerned as to who this person was, why they were here... what he possibly wanted from either Felix or himself, though judging from how much the Remnant was watching the LOVELESS Quoter, he didn't seem too interested in the Freelancer.
".........." Genesis finally moved, though all it was were his brightly glowing blue eyes flicking off towards Felix as he mentioned something about a lack of manners. "Manners? Look whose talking." Genesis spoke up to the red-head, turning his attention back onto Yazoo as he noticed a change in expression. A look of frustration, or sadness, perhaps? Did Felix say something that bothered the long-haired man before them? It didn't take long for the Crimson SOLDIER to make the connection, possibly. After all, he knew nothing of these Remnants or what their actual connection to Sephiroth was. Regardless, their resemblance was far too similar to simply be that of coincidence. Sephiroth cared deeply for his 'Mother', that supposedly being an alien called JENOVA, the Calamity from the Skies. Perhaps this was also true for this long-haired man?
As Yazoo spoke his name, whether that be true or not, at least he was being civil. He hadn't drawn a weapon. He hadn't attacked. He was simply making conversation. A very curious location to make said communication, in the middle of a forest surrounded by Heartless, but for the time being, the three of them were safe. Then again, perhaps the Heartless were here because of this 'Yazoo'? Genesis turned his head towards Felix and watched him for a second, wondering if he wasn't too devoted to trying to upset this silver-haired man to overlook the possibility that Yazoo could be the catalyst for the Heartless. Felix's job was to stop the Heartless, was it not? Taking out Yazoo might make that happen, but at the same time, Genesis simply returned his attention back onto the leather clad Remnant and slowly nodded his head, making the most of the 'peace' between the three of them while it lasted. "... Genesis. The one with no manners over there is Felix."
Not forgetting the question Yazoo had asked after calling him 'Brother', an answer to that already within Genesis' mind, he decided to answer it. "Felix was asked to clear out some of the 'monsters' from this world. I'm simply aiding him when necessary." The SOLDIER 1st Class answered, holding back from speaking of the Heartless themselves, though it probably wasn't going to surprise for confuse Yazoo. He clearly wasn't from this world. He stood out just as badly as Felix and himself did. Either way, wasn't going to hurt to be safe over sorry. Another thing the Crimson SOLDIER hold back was actually speaking his mind of the possible connection between Yazoo and Sephiroth, though no doubt that would be unavoidable as the day went on. Only time would tell. Breaking the ice however, Genesis spoke up again. "And what of yourself, Yazoo. What brings you out here to the middle of the forest?"

The freelancer couldn’t help but smile smugly as his taunt seemed to have an effect on the stranger clothed in black, a visible twitch of annoyance showing on his face. Such a twitch was a personal victory for the freelancer, a man who enjoyed irritating others as those who got angry often slipped up during a battle of strength or wits, the latter seeming to be on the horizon right now. Yes, assuming Genesis was very intent on finding out more about the “Masked Man” he mentioned earlier, surely he would question this boy for any information regarding him. If not for that then for something else, everyone had their secrets and the freelancer didn’t doubt that Genesis was the type to have some of his own. It was no business of his though unless told otherwise but since there seemed to be some type of connection between these two he would attempt to help facilitate the conversation. Or perhaps “interrogation” would be a more apt word… and if that word were to be used instead that would mean Felix was the bad cop. That would surely prove amusing while it lasted and the thought nearly made the freelancer snicker but was cut off when Genesis called him out on his own lack of manners. Looking over to him and blinking a couple times with a blank expression, the freelancer would grin after a moment and shrug his shoulders indifferently.
”Hey I suffer from a serious disease called “Verbal Diarrhea”, I can’t help but talk smack,” he replied, his tone showing he was being sarcastic. Regardless, the stranger would soon introduce himself as Yazoo, an odd name to be sure although that wasn’t too surprising. All the freaks Felix had met with silver-hair were weird, powerful, and had bad intentions usually somewhere along the lines of killing innocent people or something. The freshest memory of a silver-haired freak was one with an extremely long katana that had planned on leveling the Radiant Gardens a while back. That being noted, the red-head wasn’t exactly buying Yazoo’s story of just “expecting someone else”, or if that were indeed the case, then said person was probably just as bad as him. Yes, perhaps the person he had wanted to meet was planning on terrorizing this planet or something frivolous like that and he planned to assist said person. Felix couldn’t understand these “Dark” or “Evil” folk anyway so it wasn’t something he gave much thought to but either way if that were the case it would interfere with his current job. Indeed, he had been sent here to help reduce the number of Heartless and quell their numbers so the villagers could live in a relative amount of peace. After all, as Genesis had said himself, completely ridding a world of Heartless was pretty much impossible and the villagers were willing to accept that when they had contracted Felix to do this job. They would have to learn to fend for themselves a bit to fight what remained of the Heartless’ dwindled numbers but if this Yazoo was here to cause mischief…
It’ll most likely attract more of them here no doubt,[/i]he mused as Genesis introduced the both of them. Felix snickered at the jab added with his introduction and decided to roll with it, waving over to Yazoo nonchalant as he continued to wear that smug expression on his face.
”He forgot my title but I don’t mind stating it myself, I’m Felix the #1 Freelancer in Radiant Gardens,” he added as Genesis continued speaking soon after. He would reveal their purpose in being here although Felix made note of the fact that he had said “monsters” as opposed to “Heartless”. The red-head wasn’t exactly sure why, after all nearly everyone knew what the Heartless were by now and playing dumb probably wouldn’t slip even the stupidest of people. On the other hand, considering the fact that this Yazoo approached the two of them with no semblance of backup in a forest that was quite some way from civilization, perhaps it would work. He didn’t seem like the sharpest tool in the shed to the freelancer but either way it mattered little to the red-head. All he was concerned about was quelling the Heartless threat on this world. If Yazoo decided to interfere with that goal or would help him achieve it by being beaten down to the ground then so be it.
”You weren’t up to anything bad were you Yazoo?” the freelancer asked after Genesis, deciding to play along with this farce a little longer before deciding to continue beating down Heartless or beat down the skinny punk with silver hair.
Whatever needs to be done to finish the job right?[/i]

"Verbal Diarrhea"? Yazoo wasn't too sure what to think of this, he figured all these red-haired people were idiots. Remembering Reno, another red-head, and comparing him to this fool was like a match made in heaven. However, if he was going to think like that... what made that him, Kadaj, Loz, ... and Sephiroth? This he didn't really want to think about right now.
Returning his attention to Genesis, he wasn't even sure why the SOLDIER 1st Class would be working with someone as retarded as Felix here. Perhaps to manipulate? However, this wasn't the same as the past, was this Genesis on the side of the Light? He had read reports on his dealings with Zack Fair, he had seen the man in Sephiroth's memories, but all the information and memories had also shown him that Genesis had used his clones to attack places and seemed to have disregarded the normal civilians. Even the other dealings with Genesis cannot be left out in this, he figured, since they were all still the same.
When Genesis introduced himself as 'Genesis', Yazoo figured to say nothing on this subject, seeing how he already knew the man. He also immediately introduced Felix to him, who added something to this. Apparently the man was from Radiant Garden and a freelancer, who would send him all the way here? He wasn't sure where to place the connection here, but ignored it for now. He would address this problem later.
Genesis explained their reason for being here, which made the Remnant all the more interested in whom would send someone so far away. It also interested him in why the crimson SOLDIER would aid someone like Felix in a place like this. The two then questioned him on his reason for being here. He opened his mouth with a simple answer: "Humanoid Heartless."
The answer was spoken in a calm manner and he wondered if the two would react on these two words. He already understood the two had kept something behind and Yazoo wasn't going to tell the two everything either, but he wanted to see how they would react upon this. He continued calm: "I'm simply researching," he tilted his head with a light smile.

Yawning loudly, Felix would close his eyes for but a moment as tears formed at the edges of his eyes before opening them back up, noticing a lack of a certain LOVELESS quoter. His eyes took a quick look around the area looking for him but it seemed that he had inexplicably disappeared during the short time he had closed his eyes. The silver-haired brat was still around from the looks of it and while he wasn’t afraid to take said brat on if he attacked… I’m more concerned about the sudden disappearance… I swear that happens every time when something like this happens, someone just vanishes,[/i] he mused but dropped the thought rather quickly. It was irrelevant anyway; right now the more pressing matter was this Yazoo character and his “reason” for being here. From what he had caught through his yawn it seemed the oddly dressed fellow was searching for “Humanoid Heartless”, something that sounded about as believable as pigs flying. Indeed, the freelancer had never heard or seen of such a thing except perhaps one particular incident but that hobo could have just been really dirty for all he knew. He had never confirmed what said hobo was and he didn’t have much info to base an assumption as to whether he was just evil or a Heartless. Whatever the case, it didn’t put Felix at ease hearing that a person was looking for them and attempting to research them of all things. That sort of research certainly didn’t seem like it would produce any desirable results and while Felix wasn’t a saint he certainly wasn’t a bad guy either. Hearing such things made the urge to fight grow even stronger so he could put this guy down and not have to worry about something so potentially troublesome. If humanoid Heartless started running about I’m not sure how long civilization would last… if they could meld into society there would really be little one could do to stop them,[/i] he mused as he kicked off the tree with his arms still crossed. Walking toward Yazoo, the freelancer would shrug his shoulders nonchalant as he smirked smugly and let out a small “hmph”. ”Well do as you please it’s really of no concern to me so long as you stay out of my way,” he started as he got closer, ”Hell maybe if you got the cash for it I might even assist you in your research although it would have to be quite a hefty sum to convince me to help you with something like that. Either way though, I have a job to finish and I don’t take on any other jobs when on one so if you wish to enlist my services it will have to wait… see ya,” he explained as he would walk past the silver-haired remnant’s left side, waving his left hand as he passed him by… only to whip it at the back of his head after taking two steps behind him. Jeez I really am a dirty fighter,[/i] the freelancer would muse as the hammer-fist was on a crash course with the back of Yazoo’s head. To make matters worse, as the fist neared Yazoo’s head, the freelancer would suddenly have his body coated in wind, activating his Wind Manipulator[/b]. If struck by the quick blow, Yazoo would suddenly find himself unable to move as a vacuum in the air kept his body paralyzed for the time being (Immobilize). Whether the attack was successful or not, Felix would follow up as he quickly turned his body around and pivot on his left foot. With the pivot his rear leg would be raised as he attempted to nail Yazoo in the spine with a rear leg Thai kick, one that would certainly be unpleasant. Much like his previous attack, if this one landed Yazoo would find himself immobilized although whatever the case, whether the attacks missed or hit, the freelancer would be compelled to talk a little smack. At least that’s what I would say if I didn’t think beating you might help weaken this Heartless threat around here. Seems a bit too convenient that you happened to show up around the time when I was hired to help clear out this place a bit and you certainly don’t seem like a good guy to me. Not only that, but even in the case that you aren’t responsible for this mess at least you can entertain me for a while ne? Well assuming you can last for more than five minutes anyway,” OOC: Wind Manipulator – WILL PUT IN ALL RELEVANT INFORMATION LATER! DID THIS ON PHONE SO CANNOT DO IT AT THE MOMENT T_T!
