Typical Site Functions
I missed the Activity Check. Can I get my characters back?
If you rejoin the site with the same usernames a month after your removal, there is a high possibility that we still have your profile and you will not need to reapply. All your munny/posts will be re-added as well.
If you re-join after the month period, there's a higher chance that you will not regain your profile. At this point, you can not regain your munny.
If another member has already applied and been accepted for the character you lost, you can not have that character back.
When is the next site event planned?
Normally, we try to have an event once a month on the forum. We host events for Holidays. I've listed a generic template of events we try to follow below. Tournaments are usually added in the X areas and held over a few months.January - X
February - Valentine's Day
March - X
April - Easter
May-August - Tournament
September - CM's Birthday
October - Halloween
November - X
December - Christmas/New Years
Character/World Altering
If I want my character to die, can they come back as part of the planet they died on?
Each world has it's own unique heart, just as people all have their own unique heart. Each person originally born on that planet, even if they move to another planet and raise a family there, will be forever tied to their home world and their hearts will return to that planet to be reborn again if they die.Example - Aerith and Zack return to the lifestream because they are part of Gaia. The same example goes for Kuja for his new home world of Gaia IX. People from Spira are the only ones that can come back as Unsent and composed of pyreflies, as seen by Auron in Olympus Coliseum. The only exception is when a character accepts a new world as their home, canonly, and only they can be returned to the world.Example - Kairi returning back to Destiny Islands instead of Radiant Garden when the worlds were restored.
Can I learn powers/magic from another world?
Characters learn moves/abilities from their home world as the moves/abilities characters use comes from their world's heart.Example - Jenova cells would not be compatible with Heartless. The Goddess Etro would not be able to gift people with powers if they are not from Pulse. The Emperor would not be able to place a magical seal on the Cornerstone permanently to magically drain it.Unique powers/abilities learned from a home world wouldn't be compatible with a character from another home world, unless the magic was a universal Final Fantasy magic.Example - Universal - [Blizzard, Cura, Ultima, etc]A character from one world could teach another character magic through sidequests and staff approval.Example - Merlin teaching Sora Fire.
The only other exception to this rule is keyblader abilities. These abilities are able to override all other abilities that character has learned from that point onwards as keyblades are the dominating power, like a job class, except for universal FF magic.Example: If your character came from the FFXII world, then all spells and abilities (except for universal FF magic) would be forgotten and replaced with unique keyblader abilities. (Strike Raid, Ragnarok, Magic Hour)
Why aren't FF7 Materia useable on other planets? It's universal magic anyway. What makes Gaia's Fire any different than FF8's fire?
The inhabitants of each world learn to use magic differently. In FF6 and FF7, the inhabitants are not born with the magicexcept for a special band of humans in FF6 called the Magi. Kefka and Terra are special cases because Kefka is infused with Magitek technology;
So, FF7 characters can't learn fire like Kefka or the Magi because they don't have the ability to do so. They weren't born there to have that trait.
So, going along with what I just said, it is probable that Materia will not react to a character not from Gaia, such as Fang. It can be said that the only people that may use Materia are the one's directly connect to the Lifestream and Gaia. So Fang, having no connection to the Lifestream, may simply end up holding a colorful piece of crystal.
Someone can't just simply go to the FF7 world and take away with them Fire Materia. Materia, in it's simplest form, is crystallized Mako from the Lifestream. The Ancients recorded their knowledge into the Materia (such as the summons) and left them behind when Jenova wiped them out. As seen in FF:AC, Kadaj was able to push the Bahamut Materia into his arm easily to use it along with Loz and Yazoo, suggesting the people living on the FF7 world are able to use the Materia easily the same way because their bodies are made from the same energy as the Materia.
So Materia isn't universal, it's from Gaia, the world of FF7. But the magic that comes from them, which people can watch and replicate it with training, can be.
The reason the staff implemented this guideline is to help navigate and prevent characters from going to Gaia and leaving with Materia to use. Members need to have all their powers approved through the staff. If someone would like to learn the magic then someone from that world can simply teach your character through a sidequest if you want to learn it from the FF7 world.
Can I become a Heartless or a Nobody?
A Princess/Pure of Heart of Heart and Nobody characters cannot become Heartless, for obvious reasons.Example: The Princesses of Heart cannot become Heartless because of the absence of Darkness in their Hearts.Any other character can become a Heartless or a Nobody. However, it is much like gaining a keyblade. You should PM an admin with your reason and/or plot to become one. This way, the staff can make sure it is logical and is cleared by game canon. The admin will only accept this drastic change to your character if there is a good reason for your character's subplot, not just for the fun of turning into a Nobody/Heartless.
The admin reserves the right to decline any ideas that may not be suitable for the character or the theme of the site. However, we will try to compromise and find a suitable mid-ground. If accepted you may choose to become either a Heartless or Nobody, and how long your character is changed. It may only be a temporary change that will happen once.
Can my character have a Keyblade?
Any character on the site may have the chance to gain a keyblade. However, Final Fantasy and Disney characters are not as likely to have keyblades. This means that you will need to have a very convincing story/plot to explain your reasoning for a keyblade, especially if your character already has an existing weapon.
Completely original characters may also apply for a keyblade if approved by the staff and if they have a believable reason to have a keyblade. This reason should be thoroughly explained in the character's history.
Why would you lose your old abilities if you gained a keyblade?
To put it simply, your character would be overpowered if we allowed this. So like the guideline states, you would lose any powers that are uncommon/higher-tiered/advanced in the character's home world, to be replaced with keyblader abilities.
But wait? Riku and Axel all kept abilities unique to them becoming keybladers!
That's the key words - unique to them. Abilities that are specifically tied to Final Fantasy worlds, like 4-X Cut [FF7], Apocalypse magic [FF8], Doomsday [FF9], FF Summons, etc, they would be forgotten. These powers would then be replaced with Keyblader powers. However, the character would keep powers unique to their own fighting style, such as limit breaks.Example - If Cloud became a keyblader, not that he would, he would still be able to use omnislash. If Squall became one, he would remember Rough Divide. Zidane would remember Trance. However, Cloud would forget Double Cut, Squall would forget abilities like Float, and Zidane would forget Aqua Breath.
This rule was proposed because CM had a member who applied as a keyblader with powers of a Geomancer [FFXII]. The Staff felt this was not fair since the powers were not unique to her, but to a larger group in FF. If she had some unique powers before she became a keyblader, she would have kept them.
How would I replace all my Final Fantasy Summons and abilities?
Well, you just received a keyblade. So, you are a novice at this new blade. It is similar to switching classes in Tactics. You start from scratch with this new weapon/class and you would build up from there. However, you would still have all the abilities that are special and unique to your character. So, you would not be as weak as a normal keyblader.
You would just pick which keyblade abilities you would like to gain in exchange for your old abilities. Then, in exchange for the FF summons, you can request for other summons that are found in the Kingdom Hearts games, such as Dumbo or Mushu.
You will then be asked by the staff to post your new list of abilities in the Requests Board to be reviewed before it can be added to your profile. You may only request keyblade abilities for the abilities that need to be replaced. No more than that. This will not cost you any munny, except for the price of the initial keyblade.
