Round two did prove interesting, but this was the round that Hades was really waiting for. The arena had changed again. This time there were random walls about five feet across strewn about the field. The walls were about five feet high, as well. The crowds roared with excitement until Hades appeared to speak, once more. "How about that last round, huh? A little mayhem and excitement is always fun. Great matches, for the most part, and blood thrown in a few others! Let's continue the tournament now!" The crowd roared again as the gates rose to let the combatants enter the field. "Entering from the South Gate, Vanitas! And entering from the North Gate, Hayden!" The crowd continued to cheer and were loving every minute of the battles.
Hades raised a hand and everyone fell silent. He loved doing that. "You'll notice the arena's changed again. Well, these walls will have a greater purpose after explaining the stipulation." The Lord of the Dead threw a ball of energy into the center of the field and both fighters instantly couldn't see anything. In fact, the entire arena was covered in darkness. No one could see either fighter. "This will be your typical Dark Combat. None of your spells or abilities are limited, but spells will not light up the area. In fact, nothing will. You will have to feel around to find your opponent. The only thing you will see, though, is a small arrow that will direct you to your target. That ought to be fun, huh?" The crowd began to protest and complain. They wanted to see the battle. They didn't come all this way just to look at darkness. This angered Hades, and that was always a bad thing. He flashed red as he said, "Hey, you want to keep this up? I can throw you ALL into the UNDERWORLD. If you'd be PATIENT, I could finish WHAT. I. STARTED!!!!!" Fire erupted from all around the arena before Hades calmed down again. Silence fell across the crowd again. "Now, my lovely fighters... BEGIN!" Magic screens appeared around the arena for the crowd. They would be able to see the fight, but the fighters below could see nothing. The Lord of the Dead was ready to see what his puppets would do now.
-OOC: Okay, so your character can't see the other character or any of the walls in their way. I look forward to see how you come up with finding your opponent. Crashing into a wall or two gets you brownie points if it makes me laugh. 72 hour post limit, 2 week round limit. No other limitations other than sight. Have fun. First up is Vanitas.-

Evil tastes the tears of fear! tearing down your helpless fate
Theme: No Fear Tagged: Vanitas, Hayden Comments: You‘re up Hayden. Do Make this a good one~
To actually have crushed the opponent previously would have been nice, but it seemed the god of the dead had not wanted some more people in his underworld. Did heartless even go to the underworld? A thought for his Master to ponder, if he ever showed his bald face again. Still, his tactics had won him out in the end. The heartless had proved formidable, but it had apparently been unable to keep the axe of it’s from getting taken, prompting Vanitas to play keep away and then defeat it in battle. He had smirked when he had been announced Victor, but kept his stance neutral, being sent out from the battle and allowed a chance at the healing waters. Vanitas hadn’t opted to partake in the Healing waters immediately. Only when a match between two keybearers known as Sora and Namine took place did he have a free moment to remove his mask and drink from the waters. He may have been someone who did not fear death, but he did not wish to let any weakness let him down. He had been wounded in te battle, if minorly, and he had been worn out from it. If these waters refreshed him, he would partake in them. Of course, the waters hadn’t been the best tasting, and he only took a few sips to restore his immediate wounds, but Vanitas then redawned his helmet and had waited for the next round to start. He had been interested in perhaps watching the matches of Namine and Sora, if only to see the person he supposedly looked like in full, but their battle would come in time… Some time later the start for the third round of battles was here, and Vanitas was altered to his turn by the annoying demon-things Pain and Panic. They had both seemed scared of Vanitas, and he couldn’t help but smirk beneath his mask when they came to tell him that it was his turn to battle. They had stuttered so much and just couldn’t help themselves with keeping distance. When he rose from the bench Vanitas had even managed to scare theme just by moving at all, both poofing away for safety. He wondered, did they fear his darkness? Or did they fear his half heart? People had always gotten an uneasy vibe of Vanitas, but it was a wonder as to what they got the uneasy vibe of. As the South gate opened and his name was heard, Vanitas stepped forth slowly. The crowd had half cheered, but it sounded like it was more for his other fighter, Hayden. The crowd had been glad to witness the carnage of Vanitas and Silv, but they still could sense that something was ever so off-putting of Vanitas. He rose his head, hidden behind his opaque mask and looked to the area they would be fighting. In his mind he dove back to recall Hayden. They’d fought together in the Preliminary rounds, fighting the Wind titan. His cards had proved useful, especially to end the blow-hard’s ways by bouncing above him. But the scene before him was much more interesting. All of the walls, they seemed to make it look as though there was some quasi-maze going on. As Vanitas stepped up to his area, he listened to Hades, then watched as a Black ball of energy was thrown forth. The ball of energy landed in the center, then exploded outwards, blanketing the area in perfect darkness. Interesting… a Blind fight… Vanitas thought as he looked around, finding himself unable to see anything. He had thought it something that was affecting just the fighter’s visions, but the crowd’s uproars clearly meant the area was blanketed in a darkness completely. Vanitas recapped the words Hades had said. Dark combat, unable to see, but spells and abilities were not restricted. They’d see a small arrow, pointing to their opponent, and Vanitas looked and saw the arrow in the darkness indeed. It seemed to indicate the direct route to his opponent, as when Vanitas held out a hand, he could feel a wall before him in the way. So a Maze, dark combat… but no restrictions. Meaning I can still sense his emotions and feelings. And so can they… Instantly six forms forms appeared in the darkness, the tapping of their feet in the darkness giving Vanitas a bit of advantage. No abilities were restricted, meaning his little pets could be used to their fullest advantage. Six Scrapper Unversed had appeared in the battlefield, blinded as Vanitas but needing no sight for themselves. He could sense his Scrappers, and use them as extensions of himself to see the various routes within this dark maze, but also to keep Hayden on his toes and unable to react. Six scrappers would easily be able to surround him, and while weak, their numbers would make up for it. Instantly the scrappers dispersed, running about in the Maze. Vanitas’s eyes returned to the arrow, and a eerie chuckle left his mask. How beautiful… the arrow points to the oppoent, but he’ll no doubt be bindsided by the appearance of my Unversed. And should the arrow try and compensate by pointing to the nearest Unversed or trying to split into seven arrows--seeing as the unversed are but extensions of myself--He’ll still be blindsided. A sure-fire victory for me, and another I can squash. |
he thought, realizing the extra brilliance of the move he had just done. With that, he began making his way towards his oponent, handout to the side and brushing along the walls as he walked. Yes, walked. Why tire himself out by trying desperately to find Hayden when his unversed would do the work for him? He summonded his Keyblade by his side and walked forward towards the arrow’s direction of his opponent, lead only by it’s pointing, and the emotions he could sense off of Hayden. Let’s see how well your cards fair now.[/div]

template by synchronicity ============================ Abilities: Master of the Unversed - Vanitas is the source of the strange enemy known as the Unversed, which feed of the negative emotions of people instead of the hearts of them like the Heartless. Hayden was flat-out exhausted after his match with Claire. When he re-entered the lobby with the healing waters, he discovered that his jacket had been mended and there was a plain white shirt waiting for him there. Grateful to whoever had left them though he was, he opted not to put them on immediately, instead walking over to the healing waters and taking a few drinks. He watched as his cuts healed themselves and he felt his strength return. Discarding the mutilated, bloodstained shirt, he put on the clothes that had been left there for him. They fit well. Hayden wondered how whoever it was that left them had known his measurements. Perhaps from the jacket? At any rate, it wasn't long before his name was called again and he proceeded to the arena.
As Hayden arrived at the north gate, he took in the appearance of the arena. A series of walls about five feet high covered the arena. A minor obstacle. Plans were already circulating through Hayden's mind, using the walls as elevated positions, but the Lord of the Dead's next statement made him scrap those ideas. Dark Combat. Bloody hell. And his opponent, Vanitas, was a tough one. Hayden recapped what he had seen of his former teammate. He was reckless, he had a Keyblade, he was skilled with magic, and strong, too. The man had wasted no time in springboarding above the Wind Titan. He was clearly at home in the air. The lack of light could help him, but it could hurt him. Taking a breath, Hayden steeled himself and brought the King, Queen, Jack, Page, and Ace of Swords out, suspending them around him in a circle, at the size of large books.
As the Lord of the Dead gave the word to begin, Hayden took a running sprint in the direction of his arrow, temporarily enlarging the King and Queen and using them as stepping stones in midair as he jumped, attempting to clear a wall. He failed. His foot caught the top edge of the wall, and momentum carried him headfirst into something with claws. The creature didn't get much chance to retaliate, as Hayden reflexively stabbed into it with all five of his readied cards, recalling the King and Queen and using them last, causing it to dissipate. "What the hell, Hades? I thought this was one-on-one? Did you put that here?"
Granted, yelling in the maze of darkness gave away his position, but odds were, if Hades hadn't put that there, then Vanitas had. Hayden took off at a brisk walk, placing his hand on the left wall and rounding a corner. His arrow pointed dead ahead. He waited, anger radiating off of him in waves. If his opponent couldn't be bothered to seek him out himself, then Hayden would make certain that the creatures found him and died for it. Odds are, he wouldn't get a free shot like that. Again, he offered silent thanks to whatever diety presided over chance that he didn't need his arms to fight. The creatures would probably hit those first. The minor scratches he had sustained barely had any bleeding. Hayden decided to be confrontational. The faster this was over, the better it would be. He had no desire to fight a war of attrition with a Keyblader, especially when the man had reinforcements at his beck and call. "If that was you, Vanitas, why aren't you fighting alone? That's just low, sending minions to attack me. At least tell me how many there are looking for me?"

Evil tastes the tears of fear! tearing down your helpless fate
Theme: No Fear Tagged: Vanitas, Hayden Comments:Vanitas and Overconfidence go hand in hand.
Vanitas had only walked a short distance when he had to pause, hearing not only the sound of someone crashing into the ground, but also feeling the pain and loss within of one of his Unversed minions dropping from being defeated. Yet while only one had been attacked, five others remained, and there was Vanitas himself to contend with in all of this. A small “Hmph.” was released from the lips of the boy as he heard the fighter Hayden mistake the sudden appearance of other creatures as a trick from Hades. Silly mistake, but one the man would not know of for long. The voice of the man had given away his position, and combined with the pain the man had felt and the emotional anger at being surprised by more things in the maze, the man now stood out like a beacon in the darkness. He could not see him, but he could sense the emotions. More importantly, so could the other five Unversed. Wherever they be in this makeshift dark maze, they would soon come and surround the man.
Coming to a small T intersection, Vanitas glanced over and could sense the man in full now. He could feel the anger emanating off him, feeding into Vanitas and his Unversed. He could taste the anger, smell the hatred. This man was upset because it clearly was no longer a fair fight. But what was fair? Fair meant nothing in a real battle, and Vanitas had no intentions of letting any of his tricks get missed. He smirked beneath his mask, then Slowly pointed his key blade toward the man. He could not see, but Vanitas had no doubt that there was a clear hallway between himself and the man in question. He wondered how the man was using his cards. Would they be a defensive barrier? Could they withstand the force of one of Vanitas’ strike if so? There was only one way to find out.
Not wishing to risk the limits of this Darkness’ power, Vanitas let a deep chill form inches from the tip of his key blade, a bolt of ice forming and then shooting off towards the man in question, straight down the hallway and directed for Hayden. It would give away Vanitas’ position, but so would the arrows regardless. This would be much more fun without the arrows. Be truly blind in the darkness. he thought, his black mask lowering after the bolt had shot off, thinking on the words Hayden had spoken. Claiming it was “low” of him to send out some creatures? In this darkness, how could he tell if it was Vanitas? Hades seemed to have no intention of clarifying, and Vanitas planned not to speak on it either. And tell how many there were? Why, so he might retaliate? No. This man would be fighting blind, just as Hades intended. And besides, the Darkness was Vanitas home.
Vanitas coated himself in Darkness, then dashed forwards in the blink of an eye, heading into Hayden for a straight on attack and striking twice more should the first attack connect. With luck, he could catch the man off guard and he wouldn’t be able to use his strange cards as a barrier defense. Being unable to see Vanitas move beyond the arrow, and being unable to potentially even hear Vanitas as he moved in to strike, based on the very nature of the attack, it meant this battle was clearly in the favor of Vanitas. Even more as he could feel three of his Unversed reaching in on them from their locations in the Maze. Once his assualt was over, Vanitas leapt back, landing a few feet down the hallway and his key blade up. He had no idea what Hayden might try to do with his cards, and defense in this situation would be difficult even for him. His only chance truly was to overwhelm. |

Hayden was one lucky son of a gun today. If Vanitas had responded, maybe he wouldn't have heard a sound that resembled a flash-freeze of air, the same sound associated with the Blizzard spell that Hayden used through the Wheel of Fortune. Enlarging the King of Swords to the size of a Twin Mattress, his guess was proved correct as the card was shoved backwards, a gust of icy air billowing around it. Hayden took the opportunity to clear his mind, focusing and denying his anger. He couldn't allow rage to color his judgement. He would have plenty of time to be upset when he wasn't fighting a keyblader in the dark. Of course, there was a chance that whoever shot the bolt was one of Vanitas' minions, but Hayden wasn't going to risk it being Vanitas himself. Better to use too much force than too little. As Hayden's major arcana began to revolve around him, he thanked his mother, wherever she was, that the enchantment on the cards meant he could always find the one he needed when he needed it. She always thought of important things like that. As Hayden was reaching for the Hanged Man card to retaliate, his telekinetic hold on the still-enlarged King of Swords was pushed. Hard. Assuming a strike from Vanitas, Hayden quickly plucked the Wheel of Fortune card out of the air, shrinking the King back to the size of a large book and suspending it back in the circle of cards surrounding him. Channeling magic blindly, he cast a Zero Gravity spell in the direction of the arrow that pointed to Vanitas, following it up with an Aero that would hit anything within about ten feet of Hayden for some moderate to light wind damage, and, more importantly, give Hayden some indication of how many beings were there. After all, most things react when swept off their feet and/or cut by the wind itself, right? Abilities used: THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE Hayden draws this card out of the air, summoning an image of the wheel that is drawn on it. The wheel is not solid, but a visual representation of the spell. From this point, Hayden can exclaim state any two different spells, or just one spell, from this list: Blizzard Aero Fire Thunder Zero Gravity The wheel will then spin, casting the spells at a target of Hayden's choice. The spells must be cast simultaneously. Aero is the same version of Aero that is used in Birth By Sleep, minus the chance for an Air Toss status effect. This ability has a cooldown of two posts.

Evil tastes the tears of fear! tearing down your helpless fate
Theme: No Fear Tagged: Vanitas, Hayden Comments:Vanitas means to destroy Hayden. He will destroy those cards if he has to.
Well, the man may or may not have known it, but he did perhaps the one right thing against Vanitas, which was to clear the anger in his head. He could still taste it, as he no doubt thought his Unversed could, as the Negative emotions were always the sweetest, but the man was good at pushing it away and locking it up. Vanitas had smirked beneath his mask as he had rushed forward with the intention to strike, but then found himself being stopped by something large as he struck it. It was not a human body, but the texture was odd. One of his cards? Vanitas thought as he sliced at the card attempting to cut through it, but found it shrinking before the card took enough damage it seemed.
Vanitas had prepared himself just in case, and meant to strike out up close blindly. If he had struck one of Hayden’s cards that hovered around him, then surely if he cut through enough of the cards he might yet get through. Yet as Vanitas meant to strike, apparently simultaneously with an Unversed that had appeared beside him from wandering the maze in search of prey, Vanitas found himself coming off the ground. “What-” was all Vanitas said as he was then hit with a gust of damaging wind. The blast of wind had caused a an audible sound from both Vanitas and the single Unversed caught within the zero Gravity’s grasp.
“Tch.” was all that came from Vanitas again as the spell eventuall wore off and he found himself on the ground again, pouncing immediately for Hayden with his key blade and striking blindly. Simultaniously, two other Unversed attacked from behind Hayden, marking that three of the five had made their way to the location. Where the others were was a mystery, but Vanitas would not let this man get another headway. At the end of Vanitas’ pounce, whether he hit card or Hayden, he brought his key blade down to the ground, striking out with a Thundaga spell, then quickly following up by powering up with darkness and bringing his key blade upwards and diagonally, making a small short one-two-three combo from the upwards slice, then a sideways cut, followed by a forward thrust. Even if he had only hit card, he would hope the assault would destroy the annoying cards of the man. |

Hayden smirked. Vanitas and one creature had been wounded by the Aero spell. As Hayden prepared to cast another spell, with his cards spinning around him, he was hit from behind by two of the clawed creatures at the same time. Biting back a curse in his surprise, he staggered backward and into the wall, forcing himself to move in that direction instead of forward as he brought the Jack and Page back and struck at where the creatures should have been, aiming to decapitate or at least injure the necks of the beings. He brought up his five-card wall in front of him, enlarging his tarot cards to where they were taller than him and making a barrier in front of himself. Vanitas had a lot of power behind his combo, and Hayden's Page of Swords buckled under the pressure of being at the center as Vanitas stabbed forward. Feeling the connection to a card break with that card, Hayden brought the King and Queen together from the side, hopefully trapping, but definitely delaying, Vanitas' keyblade as he stabbed forward with the Ace before jumping to the side. He might be able to work through this darkness somehow, but Hayden wasn't going to lose easy. This was his shot to test his limits against a Keyblader. He was sure as hell gonna put on a good show. Hayden stood up, recalling his cards, his anger replaced with determination and just a hint of glee at how far he had come since leaving home, to be able to face a Keyblader in combat, albeit one who didn't understand the entertainment value of single combat. The Page of Cups took the place of the Page of Swords in a circle around Hayden, and he took a defensive stance. Come and get me, Vanitas.ABILITIES: Wheel of Fortune, 1 post cooldown remaining.

Evil tastes the tears of fear! tearing down your helpless fate
Theme: No Fear Tagged: Vanitas, Hayden Comments: Vanitas is never a fair player.
The distraction that Vanitas’ pets gave proved useful to Vanitas. Their strike from behind was audible only in the swishing of their claws against fabric. Vanitas called out a Mental call to his Unversed, feeling the three near him, two behind Hayden and once beside him. He could also feel the pain his two pets behind hayden felt as they were struck in the next y the cards, their unheard cries only audible to Vanitas. They’re pain was his, and the pain made him stronger. He could feel the emotions growing within him, feeding of Hayden as his determination grew and his glee began to show. Yes, become overconfident. That would be your downfall Hayden, and Vanitas would see to it. Vanitas’s forward thrust had seemed to do something, as the card’s pressure had buckled and pushed Vanitas attack through. Yet as soon as it had, he felt a pressure on either side of his key blade close in. It had slowed his push, but as to whether it would keep him from doing anything? Well that just wasn’t going to Happen. Vanitas released his grip on the key and let it disappear, reforming it by his side within his grasp once more, free of the grip from the two cards. From there, it was time to push the suallt. His front seem to be the main defense… what of his back? Vanitas disappeared. He disappeared from view of whatever mechanism kept the cameras on him, only to suddenly reappear behind Hayden. In truth, and After-Image had been left where he stood, but in the darkness such an after image was useless, but rhe effect of teleporting was not. Using the briefest of moments while above, Vanitas released three more entities from within him. These Unversed took a different form than the soldiers, three Archravens appearing before Vanitas and swooping down upon Hayden from above to dive in and attack him all at once in tandem. From there, Vanitas let gravity take it’s hold and bring Vanitas down, aiming to bring his key blade down hard upon Hayden’s back as the the three soldiers once more moved in to attack, two from behind, one in the front. I will overwhelm, then I will break you. |

Hayden had no idea if he'd managed to land a hit, which usually meant that no hit had landed. Suddenly his arrow did a completely instant revolution. Hayden wondered at this for a split second, turning as several things happened. Three sharp objects hit him from above, cutting into his shoulder, and a keyblade connected with his back. The darkness was not Hayden's element, and it would be complete masochism to go against someone who somehow knew exactly where he was without his sight. Shaking his head as he fell forward onto his knees, he righted himself, with one idea. In a gesture he knew the audience would see, but Vanitas couldn't possibly, he recalled all his cards, placing most of them in his left pocket and the broken one in his right. "I submit. You've got a lock on me somehow, and I'm not masochistic enough to try to fight blind when my opponent isn't doing the same. Still, you're a strong one. How about a rematch, in daylight sometime? I'd like to be able to test myself against a Keyblader on even ground, see what makes you guys such hot discussion back home. Deal?"

Evil tastes the tears of fear! tearing down your helpless fate
Theme: No Fear Tagged: Vanitas, Hayden Comments:Hmm. Interesting potential Outcome.
An interesting turn of events had happened soon after Vanitas had made his strike, proving a difficult target to attack for Hayden. First, he had felt the immense pain, meaning his Unversed had struck true and his own attack had helped. Pain… such a delicious emotion. It was a primal emotion, one of the cardinal ones the body felt since inception. When the nerves were hit by something and drove the pain into the brain, it was like a lock on for Vanitas. The pain of the strike just helped Vanitas focus even more on where Hayden had been as well as working as a beacon for his Unversed. With each small emotion this man felt, it worked as a Beacon. The stronger and more primal, the clearer Hayden’s location was. It was just a blessing that they were in a hallway to attack.
It was then that things really got interesting. It seemed Hayden had replaced much of the pain with another emotion. Defeat. Defeat and Surrender. Such strange emotions, and ones that left perhaps the most sour of tastes in Vanitas’ mouth. Neither emotion was delicious like others. They were disgusting. Rotten. Like a sour apple gone ripe. It made Vanitas grimace with Anger that this man was seemingly given up even before speaking! His words only added an extra sour note. He Submit? SUBMIT?! The man gave up instead of fighting, giving Vanitas the pleasure of yet more emotions?
A low grumble came out of Vanitas, barely audible enough for anyone to hear, and then came the sound of six poofing noises into darkness. Vanitas had sent his Unversed away, scattered them across the World this Coliseum stood upon to act as scouts and observers. Perhaps it would give him ideas of what to do in the future, or how best to harm this world. A brief sound echoed, similar to when keybearers summoned their weapons, but as if played in reverse. Vanitas had sent his keyblade away as well, and now was standing before Hayden, looking right down to where he was as if he could see the man. Vanitas could not physically see him, no, but he could sense the man. He could sense and taste the emotions that came off him, even the ones he tried to push down deep. He looked right to the man, hiding his own anger, and then turned to face away from him, breathing.
“Maybe when you aren’t such a loser,” He said, lower his head a little. “And I’m no ordinary keybearer,” Vanitas whispered so only Hayden could hear, then suddenly spun on his feet, aiming a fist for where Hayden’s face was and hoping to strike the man square in his face for a knock out punch to at least kick the man to the curb. Salt to the wound? Maybe. But Vanitas was not a noble or fair fighter by any means. Even letting this weakling live was straining for him, but better to let a weakling live to die in the real world later than to kill him now and waste energy. With the punch thrown and whether it struck or not, Vanitas then turned and walked, taking a few steps before stopping in his tracks and looking directly towards where Hades sat amongst the stands. He could feel the emotions of everyone in the stands, but he focused for the emotions of the God of the Underworld, watching him briefly for any sort of sign before continuing to walk away from Hayden, knocked out or not. If this man refused to fight further, then he’d let him be kicked to the curb in the real world. |

Hayden listened to the sounds that played out around him. He heard something that sounded an awful lot like things leaving, and the sound that seemed like the opposite of a Keyblade being summoned, before Vanitas walked over to him. After the Keyblader spoke, Hayden was frustrated and a little on edge. He heard the sound of armor scraping the ground, and immediately ducked, a punch filling the air over his head. This man had that little honor, to punch someone who had submitted, admitted defeat, in a tournament. He was that low. Screw this, then.Hayden's emotions all vanished to be replaced by a calm run through with slight hints of pure, utter outrage. Hayden's major arcana began revolving around him. "Hey, Vanitas! As long as you've won this..." Hayden grabbed the Wheel of Fortune, casting Fire and Blizzard at Vanitas in unison before charging the Keyblader with a shoulder tackle. "Why don't you learn some manners?"Abilities: Wheel of Fortune: 2 post cooldown remaining. Honestly, I think you know what it did.

Theme: I Am All of Me Tagged: Vanitas, Hayden Comments: Vanitas laughing is not a pretty sight.
Perhaps there was fight within this man yet. Vanitas had felt the emotions in Hayden go into a turmoil of Outrage, no doubt at the fact he had tried and failed to actually punch Hayden when he was down. But the next bit of action to take place actually did take Vanitas by surprise. The masked boy had not expected the man to actually try and attack Vanitas again, let alone by using his damn cards again and then following up with a physical brunt force attack! When he had heard the crackling of fire and the freezing of ice in the air, he had thought it odd for sure, but to suddenly feel both hit him in the back and then be followed up with a shoulder tackle, well, Vanitas could do little other than fall face first into the ground, putting his hands out to catch himself. So, the man actually had the balls to keep attacking then?
The next few moments might have been the most tense the arena would have ever felt. Vanitas stayed on the ground, his hands holding him up, and then began to laugh. It was low at first, but the laugh was there. “Heh heh heh heh heh…” The laughing was low, and chances were probably only Hayden could hear it, but after Vanitas took a breath, the laughing raised in volume. “Heh Hah hah hahahahHAHAHAHAHA~!” The laughing echoed, filled with a sadistic and tormented sort of glee. Perhaps it even sounded like the laugh of Kefka, the mad jester. But for Vanitas, it was so much more.
“HAHAHA! So you still want to PLAY?!” Vanitas twisted and rolled, feeling himself hit a wall to his side as he was soon on his back, looking in the direction of where the aattack from Hayden had come. He was doing his best to surpress emotions. Was this because he had figured out the way Vanitas had been tracking him? Perhaps. But the arrow still pointed to Hayden as well, and Vanitas then let three Crystals form before him while on the ground, kicking himself up to a kneeling position a they began to circle before him in the tiny hall of walls. “FINE! We’ll still PLAY! I LIKE PLAYING! HAHAHAHAHA~!” |
Vanitas leapt from his kneeling position to his feet, aimed directly at Hayden, and then his Crystals would silently empower before firing off the large and powerful Dark Canon ray of Dark Energy right at Hayden. Then, without even missing a Beat, Vanitas summoned his Keyblade and while laughing his maniacal laughter, slashed it forward actrosss the crystals, the distinct sound of shattering echoing with the Laughter As the thousands of sharp shards of crystallized dark energy were launched at Hayden to strike him and his cards, empowered by Vanitas’ own darkness and with the intent to destroy.[/div]

template by synchronicity ============================ Abilities:

Hayden stood back up when Vanitas rolled over and to the side. Backing up slightly, he was unnerved by the man's demented laughter. This man was sick. Perhaps Hayden shouldn't have let his anger control him, but it was a little late for that. He was still calm, the kind of calm that comes when under intense pressure. Hayden was thrown against the wall before he did anything, by an intense darkness attack. So that's what his real game is. Still, now that the fight was one on one, Hayden had a chance. Grabbing his Judgement card, the 54 intact minor arcana began circling him in a maelstrom. The sound of shattering crystal was enough of a warning for Hayden to direct his tarot cards in front of him as he ran at the laughter that he was sure would haunt his dreams. A few shards made it through the barrier, but Hayden kept going, slashing out with all of his cards at the source of the demonic sound. This man would regret toying with his opponent, of that Hayden was determined. "You know something, Vanitas?" Hayden spoke in a low voice, like the one Vanitas had used earlier. "I'm not an ordinary Gypsy."Abilities used: Wheel of Fortune 1 post cooldown remaining. JUDGEMENT: Hayden draws this card, and it emits a bright flash. His eyes burn with golden light for the duration of this ability, and the twenty-two major arcana fly back into his hand, while the entire minor arcana deck will increase the speed of its rotation and emit a soft glow. During this ability, Hayden can use all of the cards at their base size to attack anything that comes within striking distance. This ability lasts for four posts, with a cooldown of five. Four post duration remaining, cooldown commencing after.

Theme: I Am All of Me Tagged: Vanitas, Hayden Comments: Question: Do the cards surrounding him auto-attack anything getting close? Just want clarification.
Vanitas had no clue if his penultimate attack had done it's course, with the sharp and powerful dark shards hopefully slashing at each any every card that man Hayden attempted to bring about for protection, but whatever rational part of Vanitas was left had to hope for as such, as Vanitas himself was no progressing deeper and deeper into his psychopathic rage and methods. What sanity he had was pushed back for an all out assault of the highest possible order. As soon as some of the small cards began to strike at him, a searing pain felt in the cuts of his armor, Vanitas Warped, disappearing from the frontal moving assault of Hayden which he could hear from the taping of feet, and instead left a present in his stead. Said Present attacked headlong, Firing a very powerful laster from the base of a long tail, attached to the Metamorphosis Unversed. For even while in a psychopathic rage, Vanitas still fought as dirty as ever. Following the powerful Laser from the front was the Sudden re-emergence of Vanitas from behind, Striking out while inches above the ground in a quick two-strike combo of a spin slash, then dropping to the ground and backflipping further behind Hayden. "I once heard about a man who hated Gypsies. wanted to purge them from the worlds. Bet he had the right idea." Vanitas said in a purposeful means of attempting to Antagonize Hayden, remembering Young Xehanort once talk about the insane Judge Frollo and hoping it would throw Hayden into a blind fury. |
