Kadaj's turquoise eyes widened slightly as he watched the clone of Maleficent vanish in a cloud of black, shadowy smoke and become replaced by several, small, black little critters with beady yellow eyes and jerky movements, as if they were a bird sitting on a fence keeping a look out for a cat or something. The Remnants eyes narrowed quickly when he realized that these Heartless creeps could be able to take his heart if he wasn't careful enough. So that was more of a test then a lesson was it? Or prehaps it was punishment for kadaj's little trick he tried to pull on Maleficent. She obviously was the type of woman to like humour. Humour? Hardly... these Heartless must have been summoned by Maleficent as punishment to kadaj's threat towards her! Yeah that sound a bit more logical.
However, instead of fighting back against the little guys, kadaj's eyes quickly went to Keldric as he noticed him start to fight fiercely against the Heartless. It was clear that this kid was confused at Maleficent's actions and also seemed pretty determined not to get his heart stole by the Heartless.
Hearing a sound behind him, Kadaj quickly span on his heels and caught a Heartless that had jumped at him and tried to attack. His gloved hand and fingers were wrapped around the little guys throat and he squeezed tightly as he examined the Heartless. Lowering his arm back to his side, keeping his tight grip on the heartless throat, the Remnant's mako imbued eyes stared at a small group of Shadow Heartless that seemed focused to attack him, as Kedlric was already busy with his own bunch. As the group of Heartless readied themselves to pounce on the Remnant, Kadaj lifted up a hand and pointed his palm at them, which instantly made the group stop their attack and look at him. Kadaj then smirked and pointed his finger finger, waving it at them like a disappointed parent did towards their child.
The Remnant's eyes were distracted from the Shadow Heartless when he felt a wind blow against his arm and spotted a cloud of black smoke, and a heart that floated up into the air and disappeared before his eyes. It seemed that his tight grip on the Heartless was too much for it to bare and it perished. Using this distraction to his advantage and noticing that the group of Shadow Heartless were still just standing there watching Kadaj, showing no malice or remorse, the Remnant draw his Souba from it's sheath and within the blink of an eye and a flash of light, the entire group of critters all disappeared in black wisps and their hearts floated skywards.
Kadaj turned to see how Keldric was doing and his eyes caught sight of Maleficent at the entrance to the Great Hall. His eyes narrowed at her as he cast her a cold glare, yet he remained silent, not wanting to test his skills against Maleficent. Not yet anyway. He still had many things he needed to learn first. He'd deal with Maleficent another time.

Perhaps summoning the Heartless was a bad idea.
Keldric had actually sent a small amount of guilt to Maleficent's heart and a regret as she realized that she may have lost a potential apprentice who may someday wield the Dark like no other Keybearing Warrior. His heart has the same potential Riku had but the confusion and the ever so popular feeling of betrayal were evident in the blue orbs.
Those emotions might hold him back from reaching his true powers.
Kadaj somehow managed to hide his shock about the Heartless from his angelic features as he held out his hand that somehow immediately stopped the creatures of the night from attacking then seemly scold them! Even the Heartless in the Remnant's grip didn't even struggle as he squeezed out it's life.
It seems that Kadaj is already gaining control over the Heartless at a pace faster than Maleficent's regained control.
At one swipe of the Souba, the his Heartless group was completely exterminated. The Remnant has potential to become a Dark Warrior.
A glare was sent to the witch but she was unfazed...That is until a Heartless attempted to jump her but Maleficent ducked and casted a Fire spell on it.

Malificent didn't seem to answer or acknowledge him in any way, instead focusing on a Heartless that was now attacking her. This greatly confused him. If she could control the Heartless, why would they attack her? Maybe there was some limits to controlling the Heartless, but Keldric didn't want to even know. To him, the creatures were still the horrific little scavengers that would forever try to steal his heart, ever since that one fateful night when they first entered his room.
Kadaj, however, seemed to have some influence over them, toying with them as he destroyd them. This worried him deeply, although he was too busy being focused on the battle to express it.
He swiped at another Shadow Heartless, got scratched by a second out of nowhere, and oblitered that with a flurry of his keyblade as he destroyed a third. How many more heartless would they have to endure before the swarm stopped, and would this interupt Malificent from training them any further?

Kadaj turned fully to face Maleficent and caught sight out the corner of his eye that Keldric was still having some trouble with a couple of Shadow Heartless, as one of them seemed to give him a nasty scratch at it tried to jump him from behind. The silver haired Remnant quickly walked over towards the little guy and with his Souba still in hand, he batted one of the little creepy things away from him with the flat side of his twin bladed katana, watching as it fell into the floor and scrambled back to its feet.
"Keldric, worry about the ones in front of you, I got your back.... this time..." The Riku look-alike said coldly as he bent his knees slightly and began to swing his Souba at a couple more Shadows that had jumped up into the air at the same time and tried to attack him together. The twin, razor sharp edges of the weapon sliced easily through the weird, black substance that made these little things, and both the Heartless popped into black wisps of smoke and disappeared, releasing their hearts.
A third little guy hopped over staring at Kadaj through it's beady little yellow eyes and attempted the same attack as the previous two had done, jumping up into the air and trying to slash downwards with it's little claws in an attempt to hit the Remnant. Kadaj was too fast for the little creep though and had lifted up his Souba and stabbed the tips right into the Shadow Heartless, keeping it suspended within the air. Kadaj's cold glare watched the Heartless squirm about as he tried to desperate free itself from the two slender metal blades that were stuck into it's chest.
"How pathetic... are all Heartless as weak as this?" Kadaj randomly said out of the blue as he cast a glance over towards Maleficent again and noticed that she was steadily starting to loose control of the Heartless that she summoned. A small grin replaced the cold glare as he noticed her having to attack a couple of the Shadow.

The Heartless were growing less in numbers. This was good as the sorceress wanted to give both Kadaj and Keldric a lesson about the Heartless before giving them the rest of the day off.
Hm, it seems that the Remnant and the Dark Keybearer seem to get along and work together as they were now fighting back to back. Perhaps those two will become best friends and maybe rivals later on.
The last of the Heartless around Maleficent where gone as soon as she casted Gravity on them. She took a quick glance at Kadaj and Keldric again. Heartless were being defeated on all sides but the duo had forgotten one area.
Look up.
There was a Neoshadow that had somehow climbed and stuck to the ceiling like Spiderman. But it didn't last long as a Firaga spell was cast before it poofed into darkness and a pink heart somehow floats in the air."How pathetic...Are all Heartless as weak as this?"[/i] "They come in different strengths and abilities. Though strength isn't a matter to them but numbers mean something to them. 'Strength in numbers' if I recall the saying correctly. Use you imagination.

((Actually Mal, Neoshadow Heartless are different to other Heartless because when you defeat them, it turns into dark liquid which disappears after a moment, but they don't release a heart. Try defeating one in KH2, you'll see what I'm talking about. Aww, so is that it, no-more dark teachings for this lesson then?))
Keldric nodded to Kadaj as he heard him, wondering if he could really trust him, and kept an eye out over his back just in case. He rapidly swung his blade through the last of the Heartless in a one-two-three hit, spinning around on the spot to increase the maximum efficiency of the range and length of his keyblade.
Malificent warned them about another Heartless from the ceiling, which she destroyed with a spell, being the last of the Heartless. With it gone, Keldric stared wide-eyed at her incredulously, and continued to do so as he walked over quickly to her. He raised his keyblade at her, eyeing her lividly, before he raised the keyblade before her and came towards her with a stabbing motion.
Or so, it had looked like it had been for her, from her point of view.
His keyblade had missed her, instead impaling coldly a Neoshadow Heartles that had haunched on the wall behind Malificent, turning it into dark liquid and disappearing seconds later. Keldric, however, continued to cast Malificent a disappointed glare as he suddenly yanked his keyblade out of the hole it's tip had made in the wall.
"How could you be in league with the Heartless like that, Malificent? Making a copy of yourself out of them. Merely having one of them here beckons more of their number, as you already mentioned. It's way too dangerous to think you can control them." he said defiantly against her, stepping back way from her so Kadaj would be in his sights.

Kadaj turned his eyes from the black clad witch and watched as the young and brave Keldric approached the witch and appeared to attack her, instead missing and defeating a weird looking Neoshadow Heartless that had readied itself to attack Maleficent's back. This was interesting. How come she had summoned these heartless and almost instantly lost the control over them all, nearly getting herself as well as the Remnant and the Keybarer injured. The silver haired male lowered his gaze from the witch and the keybarer and returning his attention to the single heartless that was left in the Great Hall. The one on the end of his Souba that continued to writhe and squirm about in pain, penertared on the end of the twin blades.
Ignoring the conversation between Maleficent and Keldric, the Remnant knelt down and pushed the Shadow Heartless off the end of his Souba, and instantly held a hand out in front of him, palm facing the little critter as if trying to manipulate the little guy. Not paying any attention to the other two behind him, Kadaj grew slightly impatient when the little pest tried to get away, trying to melt into the floor to escape. Instead the Remnant just got to his feet and lifted up a foot, and stamped down on top of the Heartless, killing it and releasing it's heart.
~I'm going to have to get stronger....~ he thought to himself quietly as he lifted his eyes and glanced towards the back of the Great Hall, to where the sealed keyhole rested.

The witch wasn't fazed as the keyblade had stabbed the Heartless right behind her. The poor child was disappointed in her as if he looked up to her as if she was a super hero from a comic book.
How could you be in league with the Heartless like that, Maleficent? Making a copy of yourself out of them. Merely having one of them here beckons more of their number, as you already mentioned. It's way too dangerous to think you can control them. [/i] "It's called Dark Magic and it wasn't supposed to turn out that way. It was supposed to be a clone made out of the dark element but somehow..."Maleficent allowed that lie to trail off as she glanced at the spot where the Heartless clone once was which was ironicly by the keyhole. But it should be locked right? Sora evidently sealed it with his keyblade... If there is a way to Lock a Door, is it possible for it to ReOpen?
Like a default lock that will never work no matter how many times you try to fix it? "Keldric, make sure your keyblade doesn't Unseal that keyhole over there."The witch had ment the keyhole that supposed to protect the whole world of Hallow Bastion and perhaps even Radiant Garden from the Heartless. It would be pointless to Unseal it and start the whole Kingdom Hearts One fiasco AGAIN.[/color]

Exhaling sharply, Keldric folded his arms as he listened to Malificent, and when she trailed off, he smiled. "...the Heartless came out of it?" he finished her sentence, sounding thoughtful, as he looked at Kadaj while he spoke. "I heard a wise man once say that too much darkness can cause it to take your heart... and by that, I'm beginning to think now he meant the Heartless." He looked back at Malificent. "You would be wise not to abuse the powers of darkness, Malificent, so it doesn't happen again... instead, you might want to befriend it. It does seem to have a mind of it's own, after all."
She mentioned about the keyhole, and he looked over towards it as she did, contemplating about it. "Kingdom Hearts... a forgotten place of untold hearts and wisdom." he remembered Malificent saying, and nodded. Considering the keyblade Sacred Dusk chose him to be it's wielder, maybe this was his purpose... to be a keyholder, and guardian, of Kingdom Hearts itself. It would be foolish to safeguard a place he did not know the inner workings of... and yet, with people he didn't fully trust like Kadaj in mind, it would be foolish to open it up with people like him around. And so he looked at Malificent, and nodded once, smiling. "Don't worry, I won't. As long as I have my keyblade, no-one is going to unseal it." he reassured her. Maybe Malificent wasn't so bad, after all, if she held concern over the keyhole and had made a mistake mistreating the darkness to make the Heartless appear.
He reached out with his hand, and like Malificent taught him, used his newfound power to open up a portal. But this time as he focused, he concentrated on a target off-world. "Well, as long as this lesson is over, I better get going. I'll keep practicing what you taught me Malificent, and maybe next time we meet, you can teach me the next technique. Until then... see you." He turned, and looked at Kadaj, his confident smile unwavering. "Kadaj, you keep training hard too. I'll see you around."
And hopefully not on the opposite end of my keyblade, he thought to himself in his mind.
And with that, plus a quick respectful nod to both, Keldric stepped into the portal and disappeared into the darkness.

Kadaj didn't even once look back towards Keldric as he spoke to him respectfully as if they had sort of become friends. The Remnant just kept his back to the pair of them as he listened to the portal being open and closed by the blonde haired kid. As soon as Keldric's voice and the hum of his portal died down, and the silence within the Great Hall had returned, it was then that Kadaj turned around and stared straight at Maleficent with a somewhat displeased look on his face. Folding his arms across one another, the silver haired, Riku look-alike started to walk towards the witch with narrowed eyes and a deep, thoughful look on his face.
"So that's it?" He called out to her quietly, yet coldly. "You teach us how to open a portal and then you allow one of us to leave? Do you not have enough trust in us or something? Or were you merely waiting for that weakling to leave so the real training could finally begin?" Kadaj said, throwing several questions at her as he continued to walk towards her, making his way up a couple of steps and finally came to a halt when he were standing a couple of feet away from her. She was taller then he had expected, as the Remnant had to look up slightly to focus on her eyes. If Maleficent was any good at reading expressions within people's eyes, then she'd easily be able to tell that Kadaj was not happy at the moment.
"Either that or maybe you're not as strong as you claim to be..." The Remnant said again as he turned his back to the witch and ran one of his hands through his hair, staring down the Great Hall and towards the keyhole at the end. He stood there silently for a couple of seconds, folding his arms across one another again and tilting his head slightly towards the keyhole. He began to think for a moment. Keyblades, Keyholes, Kingdom Hearts. What'll happen then if he managed to unseal the Keyhole? Since Keldric wasn't around to try and play hero, now would be a good opportunity to find out. So he turned back to Maleficent and pointed to the keyhole with his thumb, over his shoulder.
"What'll happen if I unsealed that Keyhole?" He asked simply.

You would be wise not to abuse the powers of darkness, Malificent, so it doesn't happen again... instead, you might want to befriend it. It does seem to have a mind of it's own, after all.
"I will keep thos things in mind, Keldric."
Don't worry, I won't. As long as I have my keyblade, no-one is going to unseal it.
Maleficent gave him a nod as she glanced at the keyhole again. Never again will that keyhole be open. It would be best to keep it closed.
Well, as long as this lesson is over, I better get going. I'll keep practicing what you taught me Malificent, and maybe next time we meet, you can teach me the next technique. Until then... see you.
"The lesson IS over. I plan to teach the both of you the basics at the same time. No special treatment whatsoever, Kadaj."
The witch frowned at Kadaj's statement about herself not being as strong as she thought she was. She also took note of his angry state so perhaps time will cool down his state of mind.
" End of the world most likely. Don't get any ideas Kadaj, you can only open or close a keyhole with a keyblade and keybearers are rare these days.
Now, I believe you have sibilings to find. Concentrate your portal on them and you will most likely find them."
With that, Maleficent left the room in a flurry of green flames.

Kadaj hissed as the witch left shortly after Keldric did and he simply headed for the door that lead out of the Great Hall, the one that he had walked through to arrive in here in the first place. The door creaked shut behind him and after his footsteps disappeared into the darkness, the room was silent once again.
