Perhaps Vincent had fought too soon. Now Xurgon was fighting back against the necromancer, lashing out at him with blackened hooks from his back. As Vincent kept silent vigil for the acid worm, listening with his heightened senses for underground movement, he watched out of the corner of his eye as the obsidian hooks slammed against a nea-invisible forcefield that howled and burnt with white wisps. The harbinger inside Chaos seemed to recognize it and relay it to Vincent; they were souls, just like the ones he was meant to harvest back on Gaia. He watched as the necromancer struck back, shooting at Xurgon with a red beam, hearing the monstrous bellow emitting from the Nobody's lungs as he screamed in pain.
Well, at least one good thing had come out of it. Xurgon was not down for the count... so the necromancer had to be lying about defeating him with one spell. Either that, or Xurgon had grown in power.
And that's when the worm had attacked. Having been prepared this time, Vincent leaped before the slug's volatile acid ate away at the awning he had been perched on, leaping high into the air. As he flipped upside-down, he shot down more bullets into the holes below him while he had seen the undead leech in hopes to shoot into the worm's severed weak spot, and then as he landed on another rooftop changed his target to Xurgon. He shot curative bullets towards him, healing over some of his wounds, keeping him in the game against the necromancer a bit longer. He stood on the rooftop above the gopher field that was now the giant shoot-the-worm game, looking to see if he struck the worm somehow with his accuracy.
If not, he had another plan...

The worm popped back up, having more bullet holes in the smooth snake-like skull. It snarled, then started to shoot acid bombs in a continuous flow, one after the other. By the speed of the acid bombs being shot, it was angry. How many bullets did it take to kill this thing?!
The necromancer smirked, [glow=red,2,300]"Does it hurt to bleed? I hope so."[/glow] Then he let loose an evil cackle.
Xurgon just snarled at him in response, "You're toying with us."
[glow=red,2,300]"We have a winner! Give the man a prize! Yes, I am toying with you, and I am enjoying it greatly."[/glow]
The psychic was about to attack, despite the unending agony all over his body, until his attack was interrupted by what seemed to be a flurry of red souls from the orb on the necromancer's staff. They went right through him, but seemed to do something to him. The attack faded off, and left Xurgon on the rooftop, despite the cures that were put on him. That attack was something that no healing spell can cure.
[glow=red,2,300]"Playtime is over."[/glow]
When that was said, the worm went berserk, but a kind of focused berserk. Its attention was on Vincent, and Vincent only, including all of its focused rage.
Which meant more acid.

This time, the acid hit.
But not head-on, as he had been when he was Hellmasker. When Vincent flipped again off the rooftop, the flurry of sudden air-launched acid managed to hit him, disolving most of his cape, back, and thighs. The projectile he scathingly dodged still tipped-off his balance in mid-air, and as he went plummeting to earth he saw Xurgon be attacked by some red spell that had no visible effect. In case the spell was related to time for it to work, he shot at the nercomancer with Cure bullets, then transformed as he raced down and hit the ground.
Sand flew up as Vincent glowed with a yellow aura, the dust settling as a new creature emerged, kneeling in the middle of a crater. It was shirtless as well, had a massive muscular build, titanium-like skin, bolts bolted into his neck, and had fists bigger than Vincent's own human head. Stepping out of the crater, snorting at the worm, the giant lumbered quickly towards the worm, picking it up, and then used one of it's more powerful attacks.
Gigadunk.
It slammed the stinging slug with brute force into the ground as he let it go, hopping to pop it open like a ripe tomato. Only tomatoes didn't melt your face off when they were cut.

The worm was driven into the ground, but since it had a skull used for burrowing and for killing, it dug another hole in the ground, using the added momentum to pop back up a few feet away from Death Gigas.
The ground was too soft to crush the beast! The little monster softened up the ground just by it burrowing, like an earthworm! It spat another hailstorm of acid bombs from the hole, directed at Vincent's new transformation. The bugger was tough; no wonder it was summoned.
Curative magic bullets flew, directed at the sorcerer. He simply caught them in his skeletal claw, the bullets sizzling in his grip. The man dropped the bullets, an eerie blue, wispy smoke rising from them.
He turned to the transformed Vincent, and the bouncy, acid-spitting worm minion, [glow=red,2,300]"Healing spells do not work on me. Try again, if you don't get turned into a bubbling pool of acid and flesh!"[/glow]
Xurgon was still moving, but painfully slow. The attack earlier had done something to the powerful psychic. Whatever it was...it didn't look good. His skin was an ashen gray, his eyes blank of any color, and his hair had split ends, making it look course and rough.
Almost like a corpse in a coffin.
[glow=red,2,300]"It'll wear off in time, Xurgon. You're still needed to find the artifact. Your friend here is a perfect candidate for a runner-up in case you fail."[/glow]

Like that would happen, Vincent thought in reply to the nercomancer's mentions of him. He wouldn't let himself become a replacement to look for this 'artifact', and he wouldn't allow Xurgon perish either.
But he had himself to take care of, while the necromancer strutted around like the prideful, arrogant fool he was and wasn't attacking the Nobody. So he ignored him and his boastful comments, for the moment.
The acid splattered into his hide, but this time had little effect on him in his Death Gigas form. The skin was much more inpenertrable like a diamond, although it did whittle down his hit points a little. He lumbered towards the worm still in the hole, unphased, and while he grabbed it with one massive strong hand, he thumped his chest with the other in a fist.
Livewire.
The name of the massive electrical storm now pouring out of his chest, down into the acidic leech, using it's body as a lightning rod as the electricity escaped down to ground zero.

The acid started to bubble, then boil, then the monster started to literally melt, the electricity making the acid boil and causing the acid-soaked skin to stick, like napalm. The entire thing oozed on Death Gigas, it's snake-like skeleton remaining. The skeleton fell apart, breaking away into pieces with each skeletal segment. Well, Vincent won that round.
The necromancer noticed this, and raised his staff forward, the orb pointed to the transformed Vincent. It unleashed the same attack that had been used on Xurgon earlier. A flurry of red, malicious souls flew toward him in a tunnel fashion.
Uh-oh, duck!

Within Death Gigas, Vincent would have expected the undead worm to put up a better fight than simply boil and pop burning sludge all over him, he even had planned steps ahead to transform back into Hellmasker to carve more chunks out of it. But it hadn't even lasted that long against him.
Was this all the necromancer had? He expected a harder challenge... and now the necromancer had fired the same spell he had cast on Xurgon, he had to face the necromancer himself.
With the acid still eating away at his platinum skin, the Death Gigas reverted into Vincent Valentine again, ducking and rolling underneath the red spell. He couldn't allow the spell to hit him in any way or form - now he could pay better attention to it, it seemed to have afflicted the Nobody with a zombie status. If it hit him, and it effected him no matter what form he transformed into, with the necromancer's 'Control Dead' ability, it would be game over. He would probably even make Vincent and Xurgon fight each other to see who was more worthy of obtaining his 'artifact' he kept going on about.
Vincent jumped up high into the air above the necromancer, kicking off from wall to wall, passing the necromancer above his head. Then he did something unexpected, kicking back off another wall coming right for him, lashing out with a powerful kick with his leg towards his neck.
The necromancer was meant to be Xurgon's fight, as Weiss was his. But with Xurgon out of the picture and not able to directly heal him, he had no choice.

The said necromancer felt the air move, and heard the wall-step with his supernaturally keen hearing. So, a planned beheading, hm? Fine by him. He did something that was unexpected too.
The sorcerer grabbed the helmet and some hair, and took off his own head, holding it in one hand as the other unleashed another red flurry from the staff directly at Vincent. He truly was dead! The head started laughing, [glow=red,2,300]"What? You thought I'd fall by some common trick used on my minions? I'm too strong for that!"[/glow]
Xurgon managed to get back up, color returning to his dead-like state. He knew exactly was the necromancer was going to do, and attempted to call it off, "Xoraak! Call it off!"
[glow=red,2,300]"Too late! I'm having too much fun to call it off!"[/glow]

He'd expected the necromancer to retaliate by teleporting or even grabbing him, but what he had done now to dodge his attack was unexpected.
And in a sense, even better than he had anticipated.
As the red flurry of a spell shot towards him after he missed, he transformed into his red cloak Crimson Phantom form, the same form he used to fight the Remnants and save Cloud during the Geostigma crisis. The red cloak shot upwards in a amorphous state, as if pulled like a cloth by an invisible hand, dodging the shot. Above the necromancer, he transformed back into Vincent Valentine, Cerberus already out and pointing downwards.
And with Cure Materia loaded and magically effecting his bullets, in less than a second, he pulled the trigger and fired straight down into the being refered now to as Xoraak's neck.

The soul barrier was already up again, the spirits screaming out in agony at the impact. He put his head back on, crushed bullets raining down upon his helmet. Xoraak quickly retaliated, and without messing a beat, the skeletal talon tips began to glow an angry red. It changed to black, with red energy being the outline. This didn't look good.
The sorcerer said the spell's name-command with a gleeful tone, [glow=red,2,300]"Finger of Death!"[/glow]
The energy kept building when he extended his skeletal arm. Like a cannon, the energy suddenly released in one huge burst. The energy on the front end of the launch took the shape of a human skull.
Xurgon attempted to use a kinetic barrier, but it fizzled out. Seemed he was hit harder than previously anticipated. All Xurgon could do was watch and recover.
Hopefully that deadly spell won't hit.

Thankfully, it didn't.
The charge-up time for Finger of Death, along with Xurgon's attempt at a kinetic barrier, was enough of a warning for Vincent. Even though he had already planned ahead to dodge anything that Zoraak threw at him, as he transformed into his Crimison Phantom form again and suddenly the mist shifted sideways like a ghostly figure floating hastily from out it's crypt, the spell missing him by inches.
And with a name like that, it probably would have killed him instantly. Which wouldn't have fared well for either Zurgon or Vincent.
As Vincent transformed back into his usual human self again, and landed on one of the higher balconies surrounding the rooftops below, he quickly had an idea how to get around the soul barrier surrounding the necromancer. Bullet and magic didn't work, so projectile and status-inflicting attacks were out of the question. He was tired, but not exhausted yet, not nearly as hurt as he should be. He realized his physical attacks had been key, as the soul shield had the same effects as the protective spell Shell, but the necromancer could teleport.
That gave him an idea...
He launched himself off the balcony, shooting curative bullets near Xurgon, missing him by an arm's length. While the necromancer he had bet would have been distracted by the 'attempt' to heal his comrade, he flipped in the air and came down towards Zoraak, ready to dodge any of his attacks until he thrust his left gauntlet-plated hand bunched into a fist into the bones of his ribcage.
It if hit, that would teach him for giving him the finger...

Xurgon actually caught the cure bullets, further pulling him away from the effects of the evil attack earlier. He managed to stand, although his condition didn't want him to. The psychic got up anyway, dead set on teaching his "master" a lesson.
He'd have to find another way, though.
Xoraak was indeed distracted by the cure attempt, and automatically phased out, transparent like a ghost. By the look on the uncovered parts of his face, he had seen an attempt like this before. He felt something go right through him. What was that, a fist?
Fortunately for Vincent, the necromancer couldn't attack while phased out. Instead of just attacking with spells, Xoraak proceeded to walk right through Vincent, then phase back in behind him.
He attacked with the pointed butt end of his staff, not even bothering to turn around.
[glow=red,2,300]"You're out of your league. Flee while you can,"[/glow] he said in all seriousness, all the mocking fun from his voice non-existent.

"I thought I was too late, and if I did not want to be a part of this charade I could have fled while I had the chance. So, you leave me little choice." the man in crimson tatter cape replied coldly, after being mildly hit from the end of the butt end of the staff by Xoraak, having stumbled a little in the surprised the necromancer could also phase out as well as teleport.
This man had to have a weakness, and he felt he was getting closer to it, as it registered in the back of his mind that Xurgon was healing over from the curative bullets he had caught. In swift retaliation, he let the hit trigger a transformation again, this time attempting a new form. Blue light pulsed around his body and in his eyes as he rapidly grew sharp fangs and claws, sprouted think fur and mane, and horns burst out of his head.
In the next few seconds from when the necromancer had hit him, Galian Beast which had Vincent split seconds before started ripping his frenzied claws into the necromancer in a Berserk Dance combo, finishing with a powerful shockwave as he finished by slamming his powerful fist into the ground.
Even if none of this had any effect on Xoraak, it would at least keep him occupied and let Xurgon recover, so he could fight his nemesis and continue his own story...

Xoraak just phased backward, moving again to phase back in behind Vincent. A huge stone block suddenly hit the necromancer dead on, sending him against a rooftop. He didn't splatter, or shatter, just phased through the rooftop, then back up. His jaw was clearly dislodged on one side, and he casually snapped it back into place with a sick pop. If looks could kill, the look on the necromancer's face would make that come true.
Xurgon had five of the heavy blocks around him, each one weighing almost a quarter of half a ton. Just as he was about to throw them all, a red flurry struck him, effectively striking the psychic head on. The blocks were dropped, and Xurgon collapsed again.
That distraction may have been enough for Xoraak's downfall....

Galian Beast snarled, expecting another strike from the necromancer from behind as he once again annoyingly phased through him. Suddenly Xoraak was struck back suddenly, and Vincent turned Galian Beast's head to see Xurgon had stuck him with heavy stone blocks. He had actually managed to land a hit. How had he done that?
He roared as the necromancer's staff glowed as he powered up another crippling red flurry spell at Xurgon, lunging up towards him in an attempt to stop him, his sharp teeth bared as he leapt for the undead's chest. He hadn't become aware that his could prove enough of a distraction to allow him to land a blow on Xoraak, as he hadn't nearly been it hard enough for him to transform into Chaos to deal a powerful final blow, but Galian Beast's balanced might and agility would have to make do.
His claws attempted to strike down on Xoraak's torso, to rip through his rib cage and shatter his spinal cord.
