(OOC: Okay, I can make more drama that that...)
"Hey, Alexander, wait! Where are you going?"
The boy was simply picking himself up and walking off, as Keldric watched curiously with sad eyes. The young boy must have had some emotional trauma in his life to clam up to people like this and walk away from them. Why did he have to be this way?
Maybe he should let him go. Sometimes just letting out bad emotions was better than bottling them up. He knew that all too well... what with the darkness inside of him...
Suddenly there was the sound of a portal opening, and Keldric could suddenly sense darkness appear in the area, sensing it with his own darkness. Black pools of shadow appeared around Alex, little black bug-like antennae and beedy little yellow eyes popped out as small Shadow Heartless appeared from the puddles, three of them. They wiggled their antennae and fingers around curiously towards Alexander, before one of them leaped to attack him.
Keldric was already up and running, summoning his keyblade, but it was already too late for him to do anything. "ALEX!!!" he yelled out in concern.

"ALEX!!!" It was too late, the Shadow heartless tackled Alexander forward onto the ground. At first he didn't know what hit him, all he knew was his heart was beginning to feel heavy, as though it could plunge out of his chest at any moment. He flipped over onto his back and saw the small, black creature. It seemed to be regaining power for its next attack, since all it did was slowly creep forward toward Alexander. , before back-crawling away from the creature. He continued backward, until he could feel his hand fall into nothingness. He has hit the side (end) of the island. His fears now provoked, the boy let out a scream. He couldn't move backward, because he had hit the edge of the island and he couldn't move forward due to the hight of his anxiety. As he tried to collect his thoughts enough to actually do something, the creature moved forward toward him. He knew what to do, but he just couldn't. There was a knife in his pocket, but he just couldn't grab it. He was utterly doomed, as the creature jumped forward once more, this time with more 'oomph'. Time seemed to freeze, since the creature was still in a jump-stance. Images of his mother and other influental beings flashed through his mind. It was almost as his life was being replayed before his eyes. So it was true... it was over for the boy named Alexander. At least he had gotten what he had wanted, for nobody else to be hurt by his foolishness. (Somebody help T^T;

((Keldy to the rescue!))
As the creature was suspended in mid-air with his claws outstretched, there was suddenly a swooshing noise through the air, and suddenly a key-shaped weapon spun through the air and slashed through the Heartless like a boomerang, destroying it.
Keldric caught his Sacred Dusk keyblade in his hand as he closed the distance and stopped defensively in front of the other two Shadow Heartless, leveling his weapon at them. Keldric assumed that like a certain little blond girl he had met a while ago, that if Alex had not attacked when he had the chance, then he didn't have the power to protect himself.
So now Keldric was going to have to be his guardian and do it for him.
"Alex, listen to me," he spoke loudly without turning around to face him, as the Shadow Heartless closed in with little swipes from their paws. "I'm sorry for whatever happened to you. But you can't stay sorry with yourself forever and run away from your problems, or they will never go away. Just like these Heartless. Sometimes you have to stand up and fight for yourself. I'm your friend, even if you don't consider me one, I'm not going anywhere. Okay? Stick close to me."
The Heartless then attacked. They both pushed themselves into the ground, becoming as flat as real shadows. Keldric followed their movements until one popped up, and the keyblader immediately slashed at it, while the other one got past him and rose up to attack Alexander. The blue-eyed boy immediately thrus around and destroyed the other one too before it could jump upin mid-air to make an aerial swipe at Alexander.
But as Heartless were always doing at the current time, as Keldric destroyed two, two more rose in it's place for each Heartless he destroyed making a total of two. And this time they were more powerful Heartless... two Tornado Step and two Cresendo Heartless. The Cresendos started honking their horn-like bodies to summon more Heartless, while the two Tornado Step Heartless spun around towards them offensively.
But Keldric did not budge. No harm would come to this boy and his bear, who were now his friends, who had suffered already through enough...

No, No, No, No, No~! Why was Keldric defending him!? The question echoed through Alexander's mind, he didn't, no, wouldn't comprehend why the teenager was doing such a selfless act for him. Risking his life for another, an admirable trait, something that Alexander thought he didn't possess. He was wrong. Just as he had left his mother so that she could continue living happily, Keldric was doing the samee. The only diffrence was the bond between them, which had just been newely created. Alexander watched Keldric push away the creatures, what were they exactly? Keldric had called them Heartless, and by the looks of it, the bug-like ones weren't the only type of Heartless. "Kel-...", was the only thing the boy could let escape from his mouth, he was still in shock. Both of Alexander's fists clenched, and the tears that had been somewhat hidden, were slowly dropping from the boy's eyes. These weren't tears of self-pity, but of anger. At Alexander's age, it was understandable for him to cry out of anger... Quickly the boy jumped up, pulling something out of his pants pocket and dashing forward toward one of the so-called 'heartless'. He flipped something out of the item he had released from his pocket and slashed one of Crescendos, jumping backward directly afterwords. The Crescendo remained a solid form and continued it's noisy beat.

With a blink from his azure eyes, Keldric watched as Alex stepped out towards one of the Cresendos, pull out some sort of knife and literally stab it with it. The Tornado Steps still continued their assault towards them, one now spinning towards Alex who had become a closer and more vulnerable target. Keldric reacted so instantaneously, he didn't even register it happening at first.
Instantly he jumped, grabbing the top of the Tornado Step's pointed hat and riding on it as it spun, getting damaged in the process by it's fists. He directed it's weight over to the other Tornado Step that was about to hit Alexander, but the first Tornado Step's spinning attack made short work of it. As he jumped off, Sacred Dusk went slashing through it, destroying it.
He next went after the Cresendos, using Heal Stomp on them, healing himself effectively as he destroyed them with a slash of his keyblade. But the Cresendo had summoned other Heartless, and soon enough there was eight Heartless, twice the number as before... one Green Requiem, two Red Nocturnes, two Yellow Operas, two Blue Rhasphodies, and a Large Body.
"So you can fight!" Keldric said in surprise momentarily, as they stared down their new opponents. "Alex... are you ready to battle?" he checked, wondering if they should make a run for it instead.

Alexander shook his head violently. He couldn't fight, he was too weak... besides a moment earlier he attacked and the creature was defeated. He also didn't know how to use the knife correctly, or at least thats what people had told him. Alexander always held it, so the blade pointed downward, although akward, it was the only way he could get the job done. Relistically, it wasn't effiecient at all. How could he ever expect to beat 2x the creature, and each 100x stronger than him? The boy ran foraward again toward one of the floating blue creatures and attempted to stab downard into it, however it just floatied out of the way. Alexander followed the blue creature and attempted to stab into it once more, howeer this time the creature remained still, signs of energy gathering around it. The attack missed, due to the height of the creature, and Alexander was sent backward by a blast of frost. As he hit the ground, his switchblade fell out of his grasp, cutting his palm at the same time. There he lay, his back to the ground, and his arms spread as wide as they could. The bleeding continued and began to hurt incredibly as the time passed. The child winced at the pain. It was unbearable. He let out his negativity. "I-I-I can't... I can't do it!"

"Alexander!"
Keldric called out to the small boy again and ran to his side, picking him up and putting the switchblade in his other uncut hand, noticing the wound on his other one. "Heal." he said, spreading out his hand and a ray of light shone down on Alexander from above, his wound sparkling and beginning to heal over until it was gone.
Keldric did this at a small sacrifice, however, as the Red Nocturnes and Yellow Operas cast Fire and Lightning magic at his turned back, respectively. He winced slightly as electricity and intense heat burned his body. "Stay back!" he yelled at the Heartless, slashing down on all the Heartless with a sudden shockwave from his keyblade being slammed down onto the ground.
Power Strike.
All the Heartless were knocked back from the shockwave as it also travelled through the air, knocking all of the magical Heartless out of the air and stunning them, including the Green Requiem which fell closest to Alex.
However, this had no effect on the Large Body Heartless other than pushing it back, not damaging it in the slightest, and it waddled forward with it's massive bulk, claws outstretched. Keldric jumped up and dodged it, whacking the giant Heartless in the air a few times in an aerial combo to damage it.
As he did this, he did his best to encourage Alex. "Alex, get up and finish off the spellcasters! You can do it!"

Alexander fell back down, however this time only onto his rear, his eyes wide open and sweat falling down his face. As he hit the ground, the knife dropped once more out of his hands. Although gone, he could still feek the pain the knife had given to him. That fear... he had never been cut before, beaten sure, but it could never compare to that pain he had just felt. The blood had oozed out, like it was held prisoner within Alexander's body and was itching to be free. It had felt so warm within his palm, it felt so, so akward. His head shook slowly at first, however grew wild in a matter of seconds. No, he wouldn't, there was now ay he would hold that knife again. At the time, he didn't know the extent of its power, now that he had stared it in the eyes, he was completely frightening.

Alexander wasn't responding, he was too shocked from the cut he had made in his hand from his switchblade weapon, even though the wound was now healed up and gone. He had to destroy the Heartless himself.
As he damaged the Large Body's head, it went into a rage and slapped it's belly, suddenly lunging forward and sliding around on it's belly. It did this erratically, sliding into the other magic-casting Heartless and destroying most of them, before it raced towards Keldric and Alexander. Keldric used his keyblade to defend in reaction to Kickback, blocking it and making it spin, so he could swipe at it's vulnerable back, destroying it.
After that, the smaller Heartless were easy to clean up, after a few slashes from Sacred Dusk.
Once the blonde youth had gotten rid of them, he paused , sensing if there were any more. When none appeared, he turned back to Alexander, kneeling down to his height.
"You okay, Alex?"

Alexander at first didn't understand what Keldric had said, and remained still, staring off into space. Never again, never again would he engage in a fight or even wield a knife, it was too... real. Alexander was just a child, none of these things should ever have even happened. He should be a home-bound kid ignornant to everything that didn't have to do with him. Oh how he wished he could have a life like that, but he knew that truthfully after this experience he would never be able to return to that. He had experienced real monsters in the real world... Finnally the boy let out a reponse, a gasp for air, and then spoke. "N-No.."(Sorry for the abscence and the lack of a post, I just started up summer school and Spanish is a pain >.>;

((That's okay.))
Keldric knew that the boy meant he wasn't okay emotionally, and was okay physically, from looking over him. "Alex..." he sighed, wondering if there was anything he could say or do to put a smile on Alexander's face.
He knelt down to Alex's level, and put a hand on his shoulder. "You should probably get back to the other island, in case the Heartless come back. I'm sorry for what happened to you, but I have to go. You still have Rufus with you, so I'll see you and him later. Bye, Rufus. Stay safe."
He stood up, and with his new powers, opened up a portal with his hand. He looked back at Alex with an reassuring nod, and went through the dark window. He sensed someone else was in more trouble than they were in... he just hoped Alexander would remember what he had said.
Keldric has exited the thread.
((OOC: Sorry, I've lost my muse and I have to close a few threads, hope you don't mind.))

(No Problemo ^-^) As Keldric spoke, the boy lowered his head, in attempt to deflect the speech. It didn't work. Every word entered Alexander's mind, and echoed throughly over and over again. It was quite painful, Keldric seemed to just inflict more pain then neccesary. Slowly the boy looked up as the words faded, only to see that Keldric had dissapeared. A arm rose up signaling that the boy had wanted Keldric back, but when he didn't return, the hand dropped. He was alone now... The boy stood up, and walked toward Rufus, grabbing onto him. Alexander sheathed the knife back into its hilt, threw it back into his pocket and walked off onto the wooden bridge. (Thread can be closed now o-O;
