The eternal night grasped every corner possible, veering away from the moonlight, casting pitch black shadows. The dead trees just over the gates that surrounded the hill gave a sense of calmness in the dead of night with their spiraling branches. Genesis sat on top of the spiral hill. His blade was set down on his right side as he held an open white book to his face with his left hand. The book had gold engravings and the word "LOVELESS" was printed finely on the book. Genesis' hair gleamed in the moonlight as did his red leather coat. A gentle breeze blew threw his hair as he whispered a quote from LOVELESS. His voice calm and gentle as it pierced the silence. Even if the morrow is barren of promises Nothing shall forestall my return. These words spoke truth, Genesis has returned...

The crunching of gravel. A shifting of shadows. These were the only signs amongst the tranquil stillness that someone had entered the area surrounding the spiral hill. The gentle breeze from earlier gently rocked the dead trees bordering the gates, and also catching the black hair and the crimson tattered cape of the man that entered. In this world, his usual costume had been altered to better fit in with the gastly theme of the world; he wore a white buttoned-down Victorian shirt, black suit pants and his golden armored boots, accompanied with his pronounced fangs that gave him the appearence of a vampire. A tri-cornered hat was crowned on his head, decorated by a single demonic-looking wing.
Having been here once before, Vincent looked around the area for the usual suspects he was looking for. Instead, he spotted a man sitting atop the hill looking different in a way that he catagorised him that he was not of this world - perhaps, even, from his world. His golden eyes shifted to the book that the man was reading, catching the title on the cover. LOVELESS. Hmmm, strange... he felt like he had recalled the name from somewhere before previously, but the memory from his immortal life escaped him for the moment.
"Quiet night for reading." he commented offhandedly to the stranger, looking upwards into the night sky away from him momentarily. He could not see any stars, which disturbed him slightly, as he was hoping to search among them to see if he could pick out his homeworld while he made conversation. His face remained calm and collected, jaw clenched, as he finally turned away from the stillness and deafening silence to look at the man and his book inquisitively, to see if he had complied.

A tail. He had a tail. And this wasn't the first time, either. He'd been here once or twice before. Three times max. Each time, he turned into what Angeal used to always call him. A pup. His ears twitched back, almost in a cat-like motion. There was one or two things about being a pup,er, werewolf that did come to his advantage. He could move swifter, he could hear things more easily, his eye sight (thankfully NOT black and white) was keener, as was his nose (this could be a curse depending upon what was being shoved up his nostrils), and he had teeth, claws, and shaggy grey fur to protect himself with. Of course, there was his tree-sized blade as well, but knowing him, he'd forget he couldn't walk two steps away from it. He'd met Cloud recently....and nearly got his head sent flying into one wall and the rest of him into another. It wasn't pleasant.
As silently as possible, Zack Fair, ex-SOLDIER stepped into the area surrounding Spiral Hill. He couldn't remember if this was where he had met that heartless chick. He couldn't remember her name off hand either. No matter. Halloween Town was Halloween Town. Everyone looked odd, whether or not they were from the world, and just about everything was dead as well. His sky blue eyes scanned the area, appearing eerie in the moonlight. The mako glow certainly didn't help cancel this effect any. If it kept people from attacking him, fine. If it merely drew them closer, well, they'd regret it. Tonight was one night Zack was not in the mood to fight or be merciful. Twas rare, of course, but it happened.
The werewolf stepped forward, the ground beneath his feet making a slight bit of noise as he did so. Hardly enough to be noticeable, unless one's ears were very sharp. Another thing that bothered him about his get-up: he had paws and dog feet. The dog feet enhanced his eight by at least a few inches. He was quite content with being 6'1", but no, this world had different plans. At least he didn't live here.
Zack scanned the area yet again, smelling, yes, smelling, the scents of two others. He moved forward again, and finally spotted the two whom he had sensed earlier. He didn't recognize them.

The raven head looked about him. Has he been seen? No, he hadn't. He wasn't reading. Well, if he were seen... He'd deal with those consequences or benefits when they arrived.

Genesis closed his book in hand and set it down beside him. He arose from the ground and grabbed his blade as he did so. His red blade gleamed in the moonlight, almost in an uncomfortable sense. He held his blade at his side and stood tall, looking up at the moon. He then proceeded to speak another quote from loveless. Infinite in mystery is the gift of the goddess We seek it thus, and take to the sky Ripples form on the water's surface The wandering soul knows no rest As he finished his sentence, he turned to look at Vincent. Humph, a quiet night indeed. Genesis then began to walk down the hill toward Vincent as he spoke lines from LOVELESS once again. My soul, corrupted by vengeance Hath endured torment, to find the end of the journey in my own salvation And your eternal slumber.
Genesis stopped short in front of Vincent about three feet and smiled after he had finished his words.

Vincent's eyes followed the man as he read from LOVELESS, and walked down the hill towards him. Before the man had recited the quotes, he had heard with his sharp hearing someone entering the area; but he paid no heed to it. He would wait to hear where they went and where they stopped, before he looked for them. For the moment, he considered the lines recitied aloud by the stranger, thinking the man was rather caught up with the book more than anything else.
"Interesting." he simply commented in reply as he was looked at. He didn't really care either way what the words meant, but the man didn't need to know that. Yet, they were inspiring. He was sure he had heard them somewhere before, but still couldn't quite put his finger on it.
His golden eyes fell down to the sword the man was carrying, and he didn't recognise it from anywhere. He was looking for subtle hints about the man that could help him determine who or what he was; but he couldn't find any, not as of yet. He was still bothered by the fact he couldn't remember where he had heard of LOVELESS before. Perhaps finding out more about the man would help him, but he wasn't interested in the origin of the book itself; he was here for a reason. It was time to get straight to the point.
"You're not of this world, are you?" he finally inquired to the swordsman, going on the only hunch he felt he was certain about, the breeze blowing across the hill again as it caught his raven hair. As he awaited for the warrior's answer, he turned his head slightly to look at the source of the footsteps he had been listening to during the entire time he had been talking to the avid reader, looking towards where they were out of the corner of his eye. He could hear the heartbeat of another person indefinately this time, and if Genesis had been interpreting his head movement, he would be able to determine someone else was here too. Vincent spoke in a deep, enthused tone.
"We have company."

He stopped in his tracks. That voice...that poem... It couldn't be... Could it? Zack walked closer to get a closer look. His eyes adjusted to the dim light and his mouth almost fell open when he saw that long sword. It wasn't Sephiroth. Not only was the voice not his, but the hair was much too short. It was Genesis. Well now, that wasn't totally surprising. After all, he hadn't killed him off. But still. To see him here was...shocking to say the least. And the man who was speaking to Genesis... He looked familiar and sounded familiar, but the ex-SOLDIER couldn't tell who it was. A friend of Cloud's? That'd make sense. But which one? He'd ask later.
[red]"We have company."[/red]
Zack jumped slightly. Smart man, whoever the other man was. He stepped forward and gave a two fingered salute to the two of them. [blue]"Yo."[/blue] He said. Genesis should recognize him. After all, they'd crossed paths more times than one. The last time they met, he'd had to fight him and beat him into the next century. Of course, the raven head had also gotten a few cuts and bruises and had been shot and killed not long after, but, well, yeah. Hopefully this meeting would be less painful for the both of them.
Folding his arms over his chest, he looked at the other man. [blue]"You're not from around here either, are you?"[/blue] He paused for a brief moment. [blue]"Are you a friend of Cloud's?"[/blue] If he was wrong and this was someone else, he'd end up looking like a pretty big idiot. Oh well. That was a chance he was gonna have to take. So long as he wasn't attacked and didn't have to swing around his, well, technically it was Angeal's, giant Buster Sword for the first time in years (after all, being dead does have its downsides), he'd be fairly pleased.
