Wisps of darkness floated around and converged on one spot, causing the lingering heartless to scatter when the form within the darkness appeared.
Sephiroth stood up and stretched his wing out before folding it up again. "Back again." He said with a smirk and looked around for another path out.. or something or one to taunt.

Zack had been poking around places that he probably shouldn’t have been. But, that blackish green-ish yellow-ish white-ish portal just looked so tempting to step through! And now, he had gotten himself into a situation where he could locate neither the entrance nor the exit. He cursed himself for his stupidity. He was still acting like the pup that Angeal had called him behind his back instead of the dog he ought to have been acting like, still very playful, spontaneous, whatever, but less hasty and slower to act, quicker to think. Oh well, he’d gotten himself into this, he was liable to get himself out, and that was what he would be doing. At least he hadn’t forgotten his Buster Sword, as he often tried to. Usually, there were just heartless around that he could kick like annoying, yappy little dogs (like the chiwawa, gotta love dogs, but those are just annoying) whose bark was worse than their barely-what-one’d-call-a-bite. But this time, there was an even worse foe that had appeared.
The heartless hadn’t bothered him much since he’d entered into here, but when he caught a glimpse of them scattering like frightened ants out of the corner of his eye, Zack paid attention. His back was turned to whatever it was that had freaked them out so much, so he was forced to look over his shoulder. The former SOLDIER did a double take as his mouth practically dropped to the floor. S-Sephiroth!? But he was supposed to be dead! Zack stared dumbfounded at his former comrade. If only he hadn’t found out about the experiments done on him when he was a fetus, then things wouldn’t be so awful. But at the same time, if that hadn’t happened, then he and Cloud wouldn’t have gotten to be as close as they were. Still, this was a shock unlike any other, even being tossed out of the Life Stream and given a second chance and seeing Aeris alive and well again too.
[blue]”S-Sephiroth!? But how!? You’re supposed to be dead! Cloud killed you back on Gaia, I watched it happen from the Life Stream!”[/blue] Zack said, making no attempt at hiding his confusion.

Xaldin had been travling between worlds when something in the darkness told he to change directions. Though he did not understand he did fallow as the darkness instructed him. To most it all looked the same but Xaldin was very familiar with it that he knew where he was going. Knew the two worlds he was between.
Xaldin stopped when he heard a voice and moved slower upon the scean. He saw two men standing around. From the way that the shorter one looked at the one with silver hair he guessed they knew each other. Xaldin walked slowly towards them making sure not to go to fast. Sudden movement in the darkness was not the brightest idea when two people could be squaring off. “Evening Gentlemen” He said to make it known he was there, though he left his hood up just in case

That voice, he remembered that voice. "Zack," he turned to look over at the other SOLDIER, the faintest of smirks pulling on his lips for a brief second, "I could say the same about you." He was going to continue with a kind of.. explination, when another voice interrupted their little reunion.
"And who might you be to presume you can speak to me?" Sephiroth sneered at the hood man that approached them, cat-like eyes narrowing slightly.

Zack too was about to go off on a rant explaining things and asking questions and what not that he had wanted to ask, but yet another motion caught the corner of his eye. This man was fairly tall and appeared to be able to hold his own very, very well if need be. His features were obscured by the deep hood that he was wearing, that was part of an entirely black - with maybe a bit of white - ensemble he was wearing. Black cloack, black boots, black pants, the works. He definitely had a fighter’s build. That was one thing Zack didn’t need right now, two fights at once.
The raven head folded his hands and placed them atop his head, in a resting position of sorts, and relaxed one leg, putting his weight on the other. If this was gonna turn into a fight he didn’t want, he was getting in some rest time right now. Sephiroth spoke before he was able to get a sound out. Ah, his cocky former-friend still acted like a god. Granted, he *was* once the best general in the Shinra military, but it could get annoying after a while. Zack grinned, and spoke up after the platinum haired half-angel. [blue]“Now, now Sephiroth, that’s no way to greet him! You make yourself sound like a jerk!”[/blue] Though, that’s kinda what you turned into… he thought after speaking, before continuing. [blue]“Yo! The name’s Zack! And who’re you?”[/blue] Zack said in his usual cheerful voice while grinning widely.

Xaldin nodded to both of them. “I am just passing between worlds. And I know it is not nice to sneak up on someone.. Sephiroth, was it? Well either way it is not nice to sneak up on anyone in the darkness. Simply making it known I was here was all.” Xaldin turned his attention to Zack, “My name is Xaldin. I am currently running Organization XIII.” Xaldin pulled off his hood and gave a small incline of his head to both men.
He did not really want to get involved. But something about the way the two men stood interested Xaldin

When Xaldin took off his hood, Zack saw a man with long, black hair, braided in many small braids, pulled back, in a black cloak, with eyebrows that seemed to move on their own for some reason or another. It was probably a trick of his mind with the eyebrows, because they were so thick…but still….. Zack soon realized his mouth was about touching the floor and closed it, then he shook his head and moved his sight from the man’s forehead to his face, height and build. He had purple eyes. That was unusual to see, but it couldn’t be any worse than being injected with Mako and whatnot for four years and having a glow in his eyes because of it. He had some facial hair, and his expression was…well, for the main part fairly expressionless.
The pup grinned sheepishly because of his absent-minded gawking and immediately dropped one of his arms to his side, rubbing the back of his head with the other in embarrassment. Wow, real smooth Zack. You have the chance to make an ally of sorts, and you immediately start staring at the caterpillars…er…eyebrows on his forehead. You’re an idiot, do you know that? He mentally scolded himself, before turning his attention back to Xaldin. Before Sephiroth, got a chance to speak up again, Zack was over by Xaldin, one arm wrapped around the taller man as if they’d been best buds for forever. [blue]”Nice to met ya, Xaldy! So, what’s this Organization XIII of yours do for a living? ‘Cause ya know, I’m always looking for jobs to earn my pay ‘round worlds! Also, do you know how the heck to get out of here? I’ve been looking for the past few hours, and I can’t seem to locate a way out,”[/blue] he said.

Sephiroth mentally rolled his eyes at Zack's comment and turned his attention to the stranger when the hood was removed. "A fair enough reason, I suppose." He said grugingly and then noticed what Zack was staring at. "Zack." He growled warningly and turned his attention back to Xaldin.
"Organization XIII, I've heard of your group." His left hand rested lightly on the hilt of masamune as he stepped over towards Xaldin. "I was lead to believe that all of you Nobody's were destroyed by that keybrat who is friends with Cloud."

Xaldin growled. Xaldy He was also not happy about the close contact Zack was giving him. He looked to Sephiroth, “Yes, we are Nobodies and most of us were killed by Sora, though not all.” He was not going to mention that some of their own members killed each other.
Xaldin moved to stand up a bit straighter to help him shake off Zack’s arm. “It is Xaldin. And we do not work for money Zack. We work to collect our hearts so one day we maybe hole. And one should not wander in the darkness if they cannot control it” but there was a small grin on the corner of one of his lips. Thought the smile was there to lead another into false security. Xaldin was not dumb and was not going to be forced to pick side between these two… which is what it seemed Zack wanted him to do.

Zack muttered under his breath, something about liking 'Xadly' better than 'Xaldin', but let it go after that and folded his arms over his chest, seeing as he no longer had one of them around this guy. Man, what was it with people these days and not liking to become friends? Everybody was getting so stuck-up and self-indulged and it was driving him nuts! Yeah, sure there were loners, but often they even had good friends to back him up. Zack mentally stuck his tongue out at Xaldin, but didn't do it physically. It'd make him seem like he was still two years old...not that some people didn't think that in any case, but it wasn't as bad as it was when he was still a second-class SOLDIER.
[purple]“It is Xaldin. And we do not work for money Zack. We work to collect our hearts so one day we maybe hole. And one should not wander in the darkness if they cannot control it”[/purple]
Well that was a bummer. A possible job opportunity and it was lost because they gathered hearts instead of money...wait a sec, they gathered hearts!? It probably wasn't too bad, seeing as they did want to be whole again, and that seemed to be an okay reason, but those hearts belonged to other people who probably wanted to have them back as well! Still, despite his objections, Zack figured that it probably wasn't a wise idea to get on this guy's bad side. He didn't exactly want him teaming up with Sephiroth against him, but at the same time, he didn't want to be teaming up with this guy either, unless it deemed essential. Besides, he had already taken a neutral stance, and Zack was not going to mess with that.
[blue]"Well, that's too bad! I was hoping to earn some munny, seeing as I'm nearly broke. And, well, the dark portal thing - I think it was in Twilight Town, seeing as I touched a beam in Ansem the Wise's office and got transported to a similar room, only with a broken computer and all - just looked cool! I couldn't resist and, well, I ended up here. I could tell that there was probably an exit somewhere around here at one point, but either I haven't been able to find it or it's long since closed."[/blue] Zack said.

"I see.." Sephiroth said softly in response to Xaldin's words, frowning as he thought on that for a moment while Zack continued to talk.
He mentally rolled his eyes at his former second in command and shook his head with the faintest of sighs. "Zack, you still talk too much." He looked back to Xaldin as he added. "Perhaps this Nobody would be so kind as to help you out of here, if you weren't so very annoying." He meant that as a tease, though probably only those that knew him well enough.. like Zack once did, would catch that.

Xaldin shook his head at the others prattling. Not that he really minded it, when people talked you learned more about them. Xaldin now knew how curious this man was and that he did not fully act his age. Not that Xaldin said any of this out loud. "Best not to go poking at objects you do not understand. what would happen if you where stuck here in the darkness? It is a vast place and you are lucky to see one... let alone two people."
he looked at Sephiroth as the other spoke and shrugged. "I might help... but why do you not offer if you know him better?"

"Zack, you still talk too much. Perhaps this Nobody would be so kind as to help you out of here, if you weren't so very annoying."
Zack smiled sheepishly as his former friend teased him. It had been years since he'd heard Sephiroth joke around, at all. It was kind of nice to hear him talk about something other than 'mother' or how 'darkness is the only way' again. Chances were, however that it wasn't going to last very long. [blue]"Well, I've always talked a lot. Not exactly something you can change about me very easily,"[/blue] he said wagging a finger at Sephiroth. [blue]"And besides, you can get me out of here just as easily as Xaldin here can,"[/blue] he stated.
[purple]"Best not to go poking at objects you do not understand. what would happen if you where stuck here in the darkness? It is a vast place and you are lucky to see one... let alone two people."[/purple]
Zack thought about this for a second then shrugged, smiling sheepishly. Chances were, if he were stuck here, it would be years before someone was able to get him out. By then, he'd be an old man...or back in the Life Stream again. Not exactly some place that he wanted to go back to so soon. [blue]"Yeah, I guess you've got a point there, Xaldin. It's kind of like the saying 'curiosity killed the cat', but at the same time, the ending to that is 'but satisfaction brought it back'."[/blue]
[purple]"I might help... but why do you not offer if you know him better?"[/purple]
The raven head rubbed the back of his head, waiting for Sephiroth to reply to that statement. He probably wouldn't help Zack, seeing as they were currently on opposite sides of the playing table. Of course, he'd team up with his former friend if it came to that, but he preferred not to. Also, why would Sephiroth help Zack if it was in his best interest to merely leave him here to wither and die? That would be one less hero to deal with. After all, he still had to deal with Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Yuffie, Vincent, Cid, Red XIII, and a bunch of other people who reside in the light. Sephiroth was strong, sure, but Zack had seen him get beaten multiple times in the past, and was certain that there would be more to come.

Sephiroth laughed and shook his head at Xaldin's question. "Well I would, but I'm afraid the boy doesn't trust me anymore. Some things are just unforgiveable I suppose." He shrugged slightly, stretching his wing a little and glancing at a few heartless that lingered nearby.

Xaldin raised and eyebrow, if they were not on the same side would it be wise for him to pick and try and help the one over the other? But after Sephiroth spoke it seemed that the two of them are not on bad terms, just not the same terms. Xaldin just stood there looking from the one next to him to the taller man in front of him. “So you are saying that he would not take your help as he does not trust you?”
