There was a moment at which Gem thought to flinch at the sight of the oncoming pirate, but she pushed the thought away and prepared herself to dodge the attack. Thankfully she hadn’t needed to do anything. With the knight essentially acting as her body guard, she realized that she could get away with acting stupid. She poked her head from around his body of armor and winked at the unlucky (and hurt) pirate. What a sucker.
Oh, right. The word. “Parley!” she screamed, jumping to the side dramatically and waving her arms in the air. They all just looked at her. She wondered if they were too stupid to know English. Several seemed to still be advancing closer; to this group she narrowed her eyes in frustration. “Parley, parley, parley!”
Gem couldn’t help but feel like they were disrespecting her purely for the fact that she was just this little girl trying to stop their whole fleet. It was rather ridiculous that she thought she could stop them, but she couldn’t help it. She didn’t like being underestimated. Especially from a lowly group such as them. And sure, the idea occurred to her that she could have transformed into her male persona by now, but she wasn’t sure it would help much. It wouldn’t instill much more fear in the pirates if they saw her as a male. However, it could very well creep them out to see her change. And yet she refused to do it; she refused to shape-shift for them. Why start more unneeded drama? It was best to keep her talent to herself.
She lowered her arms and looked to Mr. Knight (as she’d so cleverly dubbed him). Then she nodded toward the pirates, as if she was trying to say, Don’t just stand there. Do something.

Gem then shouted out the right word to make a deal. Nevertheless, they were still walking towards the both of them. Cecil knew she was saying the word correctly as well. For he did a lot of reading when not on a mission. Page by page he would gain endless knowledge about anything and everything. Even the smell of the books gained his attention. Cecil's eyes locked on to the pirates once more. Soon Gem was jumping up and down saying the word.
Normally, the pirates would never betray their own code. Maybe it was the fact himself and Gem were no pirates. Cecil soon decided maybe he should give it a try. "Parley!" The pirates made a sudden stop thus hearing no more footsteps. Why would they listen to him and not the girl? Well really there were lots of reasons they would listen to him and not her. Now it was only a matter of time before the pirates would speak up.
"What is Ye willing to trade for this boat and the common folk?"
Really, they had nothing to trade at all. Cecil wanted to say something that would really catch their attention. Unless the girl had something up her sleeve that is. She was probably going to get angry soon. He let out a sigh and felt the cold breeze clashing against his body. The waves were rocking back and forth. Simply creating wave after wave, which crashed in one another. It was just an ongoing cycle.

Oh, that’s how they were gonna be. Favoring the guy and all. Ridiculous! Gemini huffed in aggravation and offense. On the one hand, though, she was glad he’d gotten the pirates to stop; it was better than having to still fight with them. But on the other hand – what? They were making a trade for the boat and people? Since when?
Gem looked to the knight, who was too preoccupied with watching the water. What was up with that? Couldn’t he focus for more than two seconds? She knew that she had nothing available for trade. Whether he did or not, she couldn’t tell. She figured he didn’t since he wasn’t speaking up. Which put them at a dead end. A bad dead end. You can’t take back a call for parley. …Or can you?
“I don’t have much to offer,” she said, feebly. “I can give back the eye patch and bandana, I guess.” But she’d really rather not. They were collectibles to her.

Gen then offered what she had stolen in return for the boat and the people. The pirates simply laughed at her offer. One shouted out then we will just kill them all. Once more, the pirates started to laugh. Cecil did not take kindly to their behavior. Why did the pirates had to be so devious and chaotic? This world was one out of whack world. "I'll be right back." The King said in a gentle tone of voice.
Without notice Cecil darted off at a fast speed for the pirates. Now he was going to show his swordsmanship. Quickly, he clashed blades with one pirate causing minor sparks to fly around. Next Cecil made a swift upwards kick to another pirates face. On hit the pirate fell down in pain. He took three steps back and created four spheres of darkness. Each one went outwards and then darted inwards.
Thus hitting the rest of the pirates from behind. With that each pirate fell on their knees and collapsed to the ground in pain. Cecil slashed his blade in a downwards motion to cut the rope. Setting the common people free from the rope. After his little display of bravery or heroism he walked back over to Gem with a smile. "I think it would be best if we put the pirates back on their own ship." Cecil said with a small smile.
Sure the pirates did not deserve help from them. However, Cecil just felt they should have some help. Alternatively, they could just let the people decide what to do with the pirates. After all it is their boat. Besides Cecil and Gem needed to get back to their own little adventure. You could say she was acting as his own little tour guide. Which actually helped Cecil in a small little way. Being he might not get lost as easily.

Gem clapped for the freed common people. But she looked at the knight as if he was definitely messed in the head. He seemed to be one of those silent-but-deadly types. After all, he’d stood there for nearly the entire encounter with the pirates, then randomly decided to whip out his blade and teach them a lesson. It was just a little bizarre; he was a little bizarre. Even moreso than her. Which was saying something. Could she trust him? Better yet, should she?
Blinking at him with her one eye left uncovered, she tilted her head. “Do we have to?” she complained. “Why bother?” She gave a swift kick to one of them. “I think they got your message.” If their moaning and groaning in pain was any indication… Really, Gem just didn’t feel like hanging with the pirates anymore. The show was over and her focus was lost. It was time to move on to something new. Something more exciting.
Without waiting for him, she pointed to the sky and declared, “To the boat!” From there she leapt over the side, back to their own ship. If she wanted things to go her way, she needed to take charge. So she did. Now he could either get his butt back on the boat, or she could sail away without him. His choice, his loss. Either way it was a win for her.

The people on the boat said they would take care of the pirates from here. So Cecil had no choice but to go back to the boat. Before he knew it Gem was already on their boat. With a sigh and jumped over and was beside her.Now once more they were headed for the island. This was the final part of their journey today. Cecil was just hoping something good would come out of this. Maybe treasure they could find?
"I can see the island now." Cecil said with such enthusiasm. This was going to get good. What would they encounter fist? More pirates, those black and silver creatures, or the treasure? Cecil had to admit he really did want to find the treasure first. Well, he was getting rather bored with the pirates now. Really, they are not much of a challenge besides being rather annoying.
"Do you think we will find any treasure?" Cecils Oblivion blade vanished after saying that. He had it put away cause he was hoping nothing would go wrong. Hopefully, if they meet anymore people they would not get the wrong impression. After all he was in his Dark Knight form. Only the people on his world so far were really used to him being a Dark Knight. Even when his main job was a Dark Knight, he was a hero to everyone.

He could see the island. …He could see the island! That was wonderful news to Gem, considering she hadn’t any idea where they were going or where they’d end up. But now that he’d mentioned it, she looked up from the wheel (where she’d been dozing off from boredom) and spotted it, too – an expanse of land surrounded by water. And more importantly, the shoreline! They’d be beached in no time. Which meant she could get off this godforsaken thing, called the ocean, and actually walk around.
Hmm. Treasure. Gem hoped to find some. But even if they didn’t, she was okay with that. Shrugging, she replied, “Maybe.” Although the odds were most likely against them. All she knew to look for was an X to mark the spot. “I thought you were looking for someone, though.” That had been the reason for renting the boat, right? The reason for this whole trip? Why would he suddenly want to find treasure? Gem gave him a sidelong glance, trying to read him. There was something fishy about him.
If the opportunity presented itself, she figured she could ditch him somewhere within the island's foliage. Then the treasure could belong to her and she wouldn't have to bother being a tour guide for this bizarre knight.

Cecil just looked at the calm water as it pushed the boat closer to the island. "Yes, I am looking for certain people. Though they are my treasure." The King said with a happy tone. Once the boat reached the shore Cecil put the anchor in the water. With only a few steps he walked over to a level which lowered the stairs. One by one he walked down them at his own pace.
"I just hope you don't get greedy and try to abandon me." He had to admit he actually started to like the girl after through what has happened. It would be a shame to know she was no good friend. A true friend would not let some thing such as riches get in the way of a friendship. Though she might not think they were friends. What did matter was that Cecil thought they somewhat were.
Even if she does manage to betray him and vanish, he still could portal out. Then he would start a new journey. Maybe he might make some new friends or something right? Cecil thought sometimes how could people not be caring at all? How come people do not try to see the kindness in his actions? Why must people act this way? How do people feel being rude and deceitful?

“Dude, you’re really creepin’ me out,” Gemini admitted, following him off the ship. She was known to be a little straightforward when it came to how she felt. A person who speaks before thinking, if you will. At least she was honest. He should appreciate that. He seemed like he’d be the type of guy that would.
“Hey, wait! Greedy?” Oh, no. Now she was going to babble on and on. “I would not be greedy for leaving you here!” she started, throwing her arms up in exclamation. “It’s not like it’s my job to escort you around this place, anyway! I’ve done enough for you by getting you to this island.” Pushing past him, Gem huffed indignantly. “And what have you done for me, huh? Nothing.” With her fist raised in the air and her other hand on her hip, she had quite the dramatic pose. But coming to a close, she finished with, “Don’t accuse me of being something I’m not!”
As if to say I sure showed you, she stalked away down the beach. After getting so hyped up, you’d think she’d be mad. But instead Gemini was now scouring the sand for sea shells and kicking at the foamy water as if she were a little kid. What a schizo.

This girl was absolutely insane. Did she even forget that he protected her from the pirates? If he did not step in the pirate would have eventually caught her. Which would have lead to her death. Cecil started to get the feeling nothing was really here. He watched the girl walk down the beach looking for shells and such. This was probably the best time for him to go. He had other places to go to now.
His search would continue by going to another place. A black portal opened up behind Cecil. He slowly turned around to face the portal. The King thought a moment and opened another black portal. "Far well. Use the other portal if you wish." With saying that he walked through his portal and left the area. In a second his portal vanished just like that.
(Thank you for that wonderful thread.)
