"Ladies and Gentlemen!!"
The short goat-man yelled out into his small cardboard-looking megaphone, bellowing at the crowds and audience as their cheers and chants shook the very foundations of the Coliseum itself!
"It's time for the final match!! The winner of this round will win the coveted Remnant !! Who will it be?! Cheer for your favourite, boo for the underdog! It doesn't matter!! One of these two contestants will be crowned champion!!"
Phil said as he turned from side to side, walking in a small circle so he was able to speak to everyone in the arena at once. The audience themselves were making such a racket that goatie Phil could hardly be heard.
"Please welcome to the Arena for the Final Match, our favourite female fighter, Lightning and the dark Remnant Brother, Yazoo!!! This is it, everyone!!"
Phil quickly teetered out the ring as the roars and cheers of the crowd seemed to grow even louder still!

Yazoo started to move towards the arena. The remnant never expected to get this far. To actually get to the finals. Especially with the opponents he had to battle in this tournament. A friend, a joke and a brother. The first and the last were two that he never expected to fight again. At least he had hoped. Perhaps, he expected to fight the first in the future, but the last, he preferred to keep conflict away.
The silver-haired man stood still on the arena and looked at the opposite side of the ring to see his opponent, which was Lightning. He had looked once at who this 'Lightning' was and it appeared to be the woman he had seen in the darkness on Vana'diel. He had avoided her that time. Again he had seen her when he wore his cloak of Organization XIII, so she wouldn't know him yet. This would be the first time they would actually 'meet' one another.
Slowly he thought back at what had happened so far in this Remnant Cup Tournament. His first opponent was Keldric, the Keyblader he had become friends with. He first had met him at Halloween Town, where the boy had first thought of him to attack Naminé and scared her, but later he had saved both him, Naminé and the old man by staying behind and unleashing a lot of darkness to destroy the Heartless, only to fall himself afterwards. It was the first time he faced the boy after the many times he had fought alongside him against enemies before.
His second opponent was Kuja. The man had the same name as one of the Human Heartless he had heard of. One that was seen even brutal by the other Human Heartless, which caused him to have taken the man quite a serious threat, but this Kuja was no more than a joke. The magic user was perhaps a tough opponent, but he expected more when he faced him.
And as last was his own brother, Kadaj. Yazoo had once attacked him when he was manipulated, but now it was a different case. He had wanted to set things right and enlightened his brother in an act he was planning to make in the near future. His plan was nearly complete, it was due time he ended his ties with the Organization and try to cause a few blows to the Light among others.
Yazoo smirked as he waited to start his battle. These were the finals and as such, it would be a tough battle. Against a mysterious woman that had fought Sephiroth, the Replica of Riku and Silv. He knew of Sephiroth's strength and Silv's crazed chain attacks, so this battle was worthy to be seen as a final battle. This would also see if he has gotten anywhere near Sephiroth's strength. He had been active for so long and the fun had been out for so long. Let us play. A phrase his brother would say, but now... he really wanted to play as well.

This was the last round.
A lot was riding on this one battle. By the end of it, she would either be a winner, or just another one that was defeated. Both her and her opponent had defeated many in this tournament. They were the main victors in this whole game, if it was considered a game. To Lightning, this was far from a game. She was treating this with the utmost amount of respect and serious intentions. She was treating this as a new chance to grow in strength. It just felt like she had to be strong for so many people. Her sister Serah. She didn't trust Snow when it came to looking after her sister. Right after her parents died, Lightning took it as her own responsibility to put her sister first and to look for a better future for Serah. She was so young and had so much ahead of her. But would she really just be throwing her life away by marrying Snow. She wasn't sure. But either way, she had to look out for her sister. And by doing this Tournament, she felt like she was becoming stronger and strong enough to protect her.

Lightning also felt like she had to be strong for Hope. Hope was a young boy and he seemed to look up to Lightning. And Lightning was sort of taking it as her responsibility to look out for him. She wasn't sure why. It just felt like she had so much to handle. But she was sort of taking on this responsibility herself. And she did complain about is often, but she really did care. It was probably just part of her trying to isolate her emotions. She seemed to be doing that since her parents had died. She thought that her emotions would end up making her weaker. She thought this was the right idea. But maybe she was wrong all along. Lightning wouldn't admit this though. One thing that seemed to dominate her personality was her stubborn streak. Maybe thats why she made it so far in the tournament. Her stubborn streak and her tough streak working together.
Her opponents had been far from easy to take down. Right off the bat in the tournament, she had to fight someone that she never would have imagined that she could even beat. Sephiroth. He was beyond intimidating from just appearance, and she was pretty uncomfortable with fighting him in the first place. He tried to manipulate her with the darkness. But she managed to overcome it and move to the next round. She met a young boy, only a bit older then Hope. But he was using the darkness. And that made her slightly upset that such a young boy was using the darkness already. She put age aside and focused on the battle solely. She managed to win that battle and progress on to the next battle. And in that one, she fought another girl like herself. No doubt that she was strong. Lightning was unaware that another girl like her was in the tournament. She once again managed to pull out a victory. She wondered. Would she be able to do it again today?
When she heard her opponents name she listened carefully. Yazoo. She never heard of him, though was unaware that she had been in the same place as him at one point. But she would be meeting him face to face today. When Lightning walked out from her corner of the ring hearing her name, she drew Blaze Edge from its holder. She swished it in the air once, the blade part coming out. She saw her opponent. For some reason, that long silver hair strongly reminded her of Sephiroth, the main that she fought in the first round of the Tournament. Could they somehow be linked together? He also reminded her of another man she met in her travels. The man with the short silver hair, Kadaj. Maybe they all had some kind of connection. A connection that she wasn't aware of. In each match, Lightning let her oppponents make the first move, this being some sort of strategy for her. She had full intentions of doing the same thing here. She locked her gaze on the other.
"After you..." Lightning said in her usual cold tone.

Yazoo listened to the woman as she allowed him to start. He smirked, wondering if it'd be fun to play with her. He wondered why she let him go first. Perhaps to test him, or to see how he fought. He took a look at her blade, it seemed complicated. Seeing it had some mechanical things on it, he suspected it could perhaps turn into some type of gun or something alike. Suited for both ranged and close combat. Still, the mechanism looked awkward, so it might just be a strange sword. She came from a different world after all. Most of the worlds he had visited had no guns at all. Then there was the weapon Xigbar carried, a strange gun-like weapon that shot arrows.
Looking at the woman's attire, he suspected they were at least far enough in time to have guns or perhaps even further in time. The best was to figure out her fighting style, since he hadn't seen much of it yet. In the darkness he hadn't seen her fight and neither in Traverse Town. As such his knowledge was too little to have an advantage in battle just yet. Both knew nothing of one another in this situation. This only raised the fun, though.
Seeing the weapon was primarily a sword, he thought of starting with ranged attacks. Whether to use a spell immediately seemed not very clever either, which would give away skills he had. Summoning anything seemed a waste as he would only loose summons he had in store that might be used for better situations during the fight. Thus, the best way to let Lightning not see much of his skills was to attack with his Velvet Nightmare. It would give him the chance to see whether she fought back with ranged attacks or come his way to attack with the sword.
Then all of a sudden, Yazoo jumped up into the air, flipping backwards and shooting two bullets at Lightning. He created a bit more distance between them and had a plan ready in case she came closer to try and knock him out of the ring from the sky. If she used ranged attacks, then he had a fun idea to try and catch her off-guard. Though, this required some luck on his side.

Lightning looked at the man for awhile. Aside from him reminding her of the two other silverhaired men, she felt like this wasn't the first time that she encountered him. Maybe she had been in the same area that he had at one point. Either way she felt sort of weird about seeing him today. But this was the first time that she was meeting him face to face in this matter. She focused her crystal blue eyes on his. Since he was her enemy, her gaze was cold and serious. The eyes told a lot about a person. Sometimes they just spoke for themselves. And in this moment, Lightning's could be read like a book. Her eyes showed determination and seriousness. She wasn't taking this lightly. This was the final stage of this battle, and the final chance to prove herself in this moment. And if she lost here, that just wouldn't make her feel better. She'd probably lose all of the confidence and determination she gained from participating in this tournament.
Lightning noticed his weapon in paticular. From what she could see, it was just a basic gun. So he was a gunman. Much like Sazh, except Sazh used dual weapons instead. Lightning was fairly skilled when she was using the gun part of her weapon, all though she didn't specialize completely in shooting like Sazh, or this man did apparently. But she did wonder if he was good at short range attacks. Lightning worked at both herself, her speed often helping her in short-range attacks. Usually, gunmen weren't very skilled at short range attacks. But things were often more then how they appeared. Lightning had allowed him to make his first move not only for her own personal benefits, but she liked to know her enemy before fighting. However, she always was aware of surprises. Anyone could pull some sort of surprise ability out of the hatchet, herself included. Surprise attacks could be very good in the battlefield often.
She wondered how he would choose to start. Aim a bullet at her, or bring something else out to surprise her. She had been assuming that it was going to be a possible bullet shot, since she was dealing with a gunman. Either way, Lightning was going to prepare herself for whatever he might have in mind. She focused her cold intense eyes on him, waiting for him to start the battle. Lightning watched as he shot up into the sky, catching onto it the exact moment that he did. She focused on him wondering what it was that he was planning. She watched as he flipped backward and she saw two bullets coming her way. She reacted quickly, snapping her fingers, activating the Gravity Bomb on her finger. With this, she fell backwards into a backflip, dodging the bullets though. She landed on the ground, sliding backward a bit, but she kept balanced. The electic blue lightning running through her legs, showing the gravity bomb had helped her land. She was able to perform practically impossible gravity skills with her Gravity Bomb ability.
She lifted her head up, catching site of him. She wondered whether she should go the short range way, or long range with him. She might have the upperhand if she used short range, since he chosed to use the long range method. Unless he had something up his sleeve, knowing that she would go for the short range method. She knew to never underestimate her enemy. Or what they might be thinking. Either way, Lightning went with her gut, and she pushed off from the ground into a running speed. Her speed even increased with this device, making her move as quick as...well lightning. She aimed two bullets back at him, to distract him and when she got close enough, she jumped up trying to come down on him from above, with a swing of the blade of Blaze Edge.
